I think half of the reason that Snape is so popular is that he's a canon redeemed villain...the other half is that he's allowed to be bitter and petty against the people who hurt him.
I agree.
I think (maybe it’s just my personal experience, idk) Snape gave us what we couldn’t get in real life. Snaters are prime examples of people who tell victims of abuse to
• “get over it”
• Because “it wasn’t that bad”
• “But you did *this* so in my eyes they did a Justice”
• And “what exactly did you do before that happened? That’s why it happened to you”
• And let’s not forget that “being angry and impacted long term by the actions of others (AND their lack of consequences) isn’t called trauma, it’s called “holding grudges” and that’s childish”
For us, it was a damn statement that he held on to that shit. It was relatable that it affected him well into his adulthood and that he didn’t tolerate anyone telling him to do and feel otherwise. The books, whether Snaters want to admit it or not, laid it out: he was valid for hating them.
Even Harry saw the bullshit after he witnessed swm
And, like we see with Snape, trauma is villainous apparently. Because how dare what we went through negatively shape our thoughts, feelings, and perspectives? How dare our trauma force us to put up a wall around ourselves and become cold and unlikable as protection? How dare we do stupid things in hopes we’d be accepted SOMEWHERE because god knows the rest of society doesn’t give a shit…How dare us?
And how dare Snape show us that traumatized ppl don’t have to be lifeless husks but brave mfs who will die to save the rest of the ppl who were too busy judging others to do it themselves. Let’s be honest, most ppl who hate on Snape wouldn’t have half the balls to do what he did…
Snape was a voice. That’s why I think he’s popular. Some ppl don’t like the voices of victims…that’s why he’s so hated.

from the very start the road hongjoong took to get where he is now has been rocky between his career choice not being ideal to his family to pursuing a company with such a passion that he sent in a cd of his work through registered mail directly to the ceo only for them to ignore it for a year and by absolute chance someone found it when they were moving. and to be introduced into this place he wanted to work at and being told you must do well if you want other trainees to come. you have to be good so others will join. while being alone and the first and only trainee for 6 months in a company who had less than/equal to 10 employees at the time and had no experience with trainee idols in any sort of way. and his mentor being so harsh and unwilling to teach him that he gave him a difficult task and giving him scathing remarks on his first day and yet. hongjoong still looked at that situation where he was hurt and belittled and said 'if nothing else, i need to prove this one man wrong and get him to respect me'. to have 40+ songs created by him before debuting and losing everything except the mp3 files on all those songs bc someone happened to break into their residence in the states during ateez's training and to still pick himself up and remake some of those songs despite that. hongjoong is someone so in love with his job and his dream and so persistent in the perfection of his craft beyond it being a fame game or for money or for attention. a lot of his art gets lost in the process because the edenary team is unwilling to look outside themselves and allow him the space to grow and develop inside ateez's sound, and you'll constantly hear hongjoong say that he doesn't make much music for ateez because the sounds he makes don't suit ateez but i think that's a bs excuse the production team are feeding him bc he is this fundamental foundation in ateez. he is ateez, he is part of ateez, he is someone who represents ateez no matter what he does. there is no one better suited to help ateez flourish than the members themselves and as the captain and leader and the one person ateez was built around, hongjoong deserves the platform for his creativity and work.

I'm not mad I'm just disappointed because if you spent two seconds to think about how fur and leather alone has deep ties to human culture and our understanding and appreciation of the natural world it's honestly really beautiful and just feels so strange to me that people who say they love nature want to divorce themselves from it.
Like yes, capitalism bad. I don't agree with the way that animals are treated as products to the point where blatant animal cruelty is excused by mega corporations. I want places like that to be held accountable and made to follow higher welfare standards for the animals they raise and the underpaid employees out there working in sometimes awful and very unsafe conditions.
But if you're simultaneously ignoring the culture of African leathermaking or the beautiful leather and wool textiles crafted by Indigenous artisans or the ways that ancient humans appreciated the animals they killed for meat and clothing by telling stories and making art depicted on the skins of the animals they took, that's what bothers me.
So many people are willing to just attack vulnerable communities instead of learning about thier culture and how animal products were used traditionally and today. There are better ways to raise animals for products sustainably and humanely and many of these communities have spoken very loudly about it but are yelled over by people who just want to be right or don't want to listen or just don't care.
So yes, I will continue to speak my mind and educate myself because if nothing else I wanna be the start of the change I wanna see in the world. I love animals and I love learning the history of humans and our relationships to animals. I want to be able to appreciate them in the ways we always have. With respect to the natural world and understanding that we're also a part of it.

headcanon that scorpius was a sick child and was in and out of hospital constantly, perhaps related to astoria's blood curse but not directly. his immune system isnt very strong, and everytime he gets sick they're terrified that it's the blood curse but also whatever else it could be, because it's always so sudden and so intense and they call healers over to the house who recommend this delirious feverish 4 year old is hospitalised immediately, and you'd think it'd get easier to some extent because they'd be used to it, but everytime they feel like this is it, this is the time he'll walk in to the hospital and not walk out again

[Image Description: A digital painting depicting Feldspar standing to the right of a campfire, facing away from the viewer and upwards. They are holding an arm outstretched above them and the other gesticulates as if they were telling a story. Several fireflies surround them and their shadow falls to their right. Wreathed in the smoke of the campfire is a scene of their campsite in Dark Bramble. Three large twisting brambles, the anglerfish fossil’s teeth, and three pine trees are suspended upside down, stretching downwards toward Feldspar and the campfire. A plume of stylized curling smoke stretches across the top of the scene from Feldspar’s ship in the top right corner. The ship is sparking with electrical failure. End Image Description.]

Jade Pingree is the all-business (and pretty rude) head of the Barkersville Companion Club.
Meredith is part librarian and part party girl. She’s serious during the day, and playful at night.
v - ramblings under the cut - v
I almost never see people talking about the characters from the Sims 2 Pets GBA. I mean. that's understandable. Sims 2 Pets for GBA was not only released two years after the DS was released, but it was also bad.
The Sims 2 Pets for GBA takes a lot of inspiration from the other GBA Sims games, with an isometric artstyle and a mixture of adventure elements and simulation elements. Howeverrr, the problem seems to be that it doesn't feel like it actually knows what to do with it.
The minigames are tedious and boring. Aforementioned minigames pay peanuts and rely on an NPC being in a specific location to do them. Characters have little personality; 70% of the dialogue in this game is completely exchangeable. There's no way to easily find NPCs that you need to find (read: phone call), even though they all have schedules and move all the time. The game doesn't keep track of missions. There's like three different kinds of burglars, and there's no way to stop them from coming to your house (what the fuck). Training your pets is so tedious and repetitive and yet everything else feels like a distraction from it. You can randomly, and frequently, get sick, from fully cooking your food with eight levels of cooking skill and using good kitchen items. Everything breaks down and is dirty all the time. Eating dog food is safer than cooking. This game is having me eat dog food because just cooking feels like a risk. And there's just so much more that annoys me about it.
Okay, I'm done complaining. There's not much to compliment about the game. It does have its charm but wears off as the tediousness of all of its various mechanics settles in. I mean. I'd like to know more about the characters, but also... I don't care.
I really wanted to make Jade. Unlike nearly every other character, she does, actually, have a personality. Even if it absolutely sucks. Meredith is my favorite character in the game. I can't explain why, but her design is neat and she seems really nice and likable. I was considering doing more (read: Elza and Hugo) but after I finished these two I. couldn't be bothered.
I feel as if Meredith brings the Blue Hair and Pronouns to Barkersville. She also has this kind of warmness that I haven't really gotten from other characters in this game. And I believe she's close with Kirk (... Carbon?). I'd suspect they were dating, as they both have positive reactions when they mention each other and I caught them going on a Graveyard Date at 1:00 AM. But when I talked to Kirk he said even though he's with a girl, he thought Celina was hot. So I can only make one conclusion: leave your shitty boyfriend, Meredith!!!
And on Jade: She's definitely on the Barkersville HOA (and Barkersville definitely has one!). She's just that kind of demon. It's mentioned that the Pingree's are a wealthy family. So, I don't think she has a job. Instead, she just torments her community with her influence.
Anyways. I don't actually know anything else about these characters beyond this. So. Um.
I had a lot of fun making these; I'm planning on doing something similar to this for all the Sims 2 GBA characters. I remade them all a few months ago, wanted to do renders to show them all off, and I want the excuse to write things like this about every single character. :) (and. I tried to do them all at once. but um. hm. that's just a little too much.) It'll take a while to actually finish anything w/ that because i need to experiment with format. I gave some of them outfits in other categories than 'everyday,' so I'm thinking about rendering those out, butttt that's up in the air.

Do you think Norway could’ve studied any subjects in an uni at some point? Considering how they are literally immortal, I just feel like he would probably do something like that.
Oh wow, I do have a lot to say about this. First some backstory:
While Denmark established its first university in Copenhagen in 1479, Norway was not allowed his own. This was only worsened during the 1600s, when it was decided that to work in any posistion of power in the state of Denmark-Norway, you needed a university degree. This put Norwegians at a great disadvantage and essentially only made influencal posistions available for Danes. Norway was fighting for the right to his own university from 1661 and until his liberation. Still, during the 1770s, Norwegian students at the University of Copenhagen formed their own "society", a social club where they would meet, drink, exchange academic talk, and reject Danish culture while emphasising the Norwegian one - at most they had 100 memebers. This was the beginning of the national romanticism that would sweep through Norway during the 1800s.
Then, in 1811, a Norwegian society was fed up with not being allowed a university by the Danish King, so they started a campaign where people could donate to the cause - because the reason for no university sited by the Kings was often "no money". This was a huge success, raising more than 150 million Euros in today's money, only sponsored by the Norwegian people. Employers by the Danish King in Norway were instructed to work against this funding campaign, the reason being the King was afraid a Norwegian university would be a risk for the union between the two countries. Eventually he had to give in to not risk even more uproar amongst the people.
Norway got its next university in 1910, then NTH (now NTNU) in Trondheim and this was a huge win for the region, who until then had felt estranged from the decisions in Oslo and treated as lesser. Today Trondheim and NTNU is regarded as the student city in Norway, focusing mostly on techology and sciences.
So, with that in mind, here is my headcanon as to what Norway would have studied at which point in history:
Københavns Universitet, 1770s: Literature
Universitetet i Oslo, 1810s: Law
NTH/NTNU, 1910s, Electrotechnology
NTH/NTNU, 1970s: Economy
I don't neccesarily think Norway would enjoy university so much as to get a bunch of degrees, but I think he would appreciate it for what it is and get degrees that would benefit his people and be relevant for changes in the society and world around him. These courses and dates are not picked at random.

I feel like my theories change every week, but I guess that’s what happens when you’re playing a fun little detective game and new information is revealed lol
Anyway though, I think this chapter has me starting to move (albeit very slowly) out of the ‘Sebastyan is one of the murderers’ camp 😭 One of the reasons is because I feel that by PB’s standards, it’s a bit soon for us to moving in on one of the killers. But the main reason is because in his ledger, Sebastyan wrote this:
I know I’ve talked a lot about how Sebastyan seems like a very angry individual, and I still stand by that. However, I don’t think his anger would lead to him killing Nadja. Or that her refusal to sign back on with him would lead him to doing so either.
It’s very clear from this screenshot that getting her back in his corner was his ultimate goal. Killing her doesn’t accomplish that at all. And her not wanting to get involved with Sebastyan in particular to legislate the Act doesn’t mean she was an obstacle in his path like MC suggested. An obstacle would be someone working against his goal, like Markarov for example. Not someone who’s removing themselves from the situation altogether. So to me it seems that if Sebastyan were Nadja’s killer, he would’ve ended her life pointlessly, which leads me to believe that he may not be her killer at all. I still think he’s tied up in these deaths with Vasili somehow, but now I’m back to rethinking the particulars of his involvement
