listening to chiyo's playlist to help my brain a lil bit, and nine by sleeping at last feels like it was written for chiyo :' )) there's truly so many lines from that song that relate to her as a person, but the lines " but i'm just trying to find myself / through someone else's eyes / so show me what to do to restart this heart of mine / how do i forgive myself / for losing so much time? " really take the cake.

chiyo's story is about connection. she cannot remain the same if she wants to be happy, if she wants to stop " sleepwalking " through her life, yet she cannot change without help. truthfully, chiyo doesn't hold a great opinion of herself. she has her merits, but she overall believes she isn't worth the trouble she causes -- the ugly parts, those thorns and weeds that have gotten out of control, shouldn't be anyone's responsibility but her own. but that's not the way life works. sometimes we need help.

so it's really important that there is someone in her life that helps her see herself " through someone else's eyes. " those ugly parts of herself that she hates aren't as terrible as she thinks. it's okay that she's scared to get hurt; she just can't allow that fear to control her.

that's why consistency and insistency are so important when growing close to chiyo. she's watching for the signs that she's right, that she really isn't worth the effort. she's questioning her place beside you, wondering if it'd matter if she suddenly wasn't there. and even when she's getting comfortable with you, there's still that thought, that fear, and it just!! takes time for her to finally believe yes, she's important to this person despite everything. and only then can she start to believe she's worth something. she's worth the love she's given -- she deserves it, every bit.

EYESHOT AU DITY

I literally did this in one day- help.

So yeah, I tried out the gosh-dang challenge and honestly?

Quite happy with how it came out! It was very interesting and actually very fun working on a piece with a monochrome pink palette!

Gosh, I haven't gotten to use my REAL lineless style (I use it for stickers but I haven't done any stickers in forever) where all the cel shading is real harsh and as it says in the title: no outline.

Lately, I've been more focused on lighting and texture in my digital works and just making everything 'softer' and more 'realistic' but dang, I forgot how much I missed just using my harsh and more cartoony style.

But because it looked good, here's the one with some light:

I am very happy especially since I do believe there is some improvement in the style.

(In that it doesn't look as amateur as when I first started out. But I think that's mostly cause I used monochrome here)

Does anyone else get that struggle? Feeling like you're not advancing then keep pushing yourself to change and improve but also really missing the original style?

Anyways some of y'all might be wondering where I've been for pride month....

you'd know that I'm very...opinionated about Macaque. More specifically his attitude in canon and how the fandom treats him.

DISCLAIMER: Again, I do enjoy Mac's character. I just think he's a bit of a d!ck and kinda hates how a lot of the fandom (not all) brushes that over and throws the bucket of Wukong's sins down on the king's head.

(I also would not hesitate to wack him with a stop sign on the chopping block if given the chance /hj)

But without further ado I decided to do something other than complain and present you guys this:

Oscar Pine Redesign/Rewrite

(Note: I do like Oscar how he is, he is my favorite character, but I wanted to do something fun because midterms are kicking my ass and if I have to use more brain cells towards my academics without a break I will lose it.)

So… I made him a fox Faunus, not only because we only have one in the main cast, but because it would be interesting. (And even more adorable)

He’s a little more imaginative here, while still carrying his sarcastic humor/streak. I decided to double up his fairytale inspirations with The Little Prince and his original Tip! I also added some actual pine green because not only does it look good with the orange but because HIS NAME IS OSCAR PINE! PINE!!

I also thought of the idea that he got his last name from his mother, a huntress who decided to retire when she gave birth to her only child, only to pass away after defending that son from a Grimm attack. Everything other than that is about the same, works on a farm, lives with his aunt, but has more respect for hunters/huntresses.

Okay, I get that his magic is supposed to be his semblance, but dang it, I wanna explore the possibility of him having a semblance but it going out of wack because of the sudden invasion of magic.

(The name is a work in progress.)

He got his semblance not long after he lost his mom, out of the wish to be able to save a couple of minutes with the people he cares about. (Also because I like the idea of semblances reflecting some kind of trauma idk call me a weird psychology major) When he stops time, he has to be touching someone or something so they can still move around.

Part two of Whumping & comfort 7 years later

Vox somehow doesn't see it at first. In his defense, he doesn't expect anything really Alastor related to pop up on sinstiagram. He doesn't even have notifications made anything Alastor-related. He did at first when he first went missing but after a while, he just turned them off. So, Velvette knows before him. She keeps waiting for him to explode. He doesn't and she’s like I'm so glad you've gotten over this. It's wack that the pair of you got over it at the same time but I’m not complaining. Vox doesn't know what she’s talking about, and she realizes that he just doesn't know. She refuses to tell him but that doesn't stop him from finding out about it. He is livid when he sees it.

Alastor, in new clothes. New hair, new section of the radio show. How dare he? He refuses to change for years and now suddenly everything is new and cool and what? He starts bashing Alastor again, as he does, but the thing is when he tries; Alastor just responds in kind. He notes how he isn't as 'modern' as Vox wanted him to be. Points out that getting new clothes and not straightening his hair doesn't mean jack in the long term. And he's added things and taken them from his show before, it’s nothing new. Vox demands to know what changed his mind and Alastor just says that it’s something Vox could have never done.

This just ticks him off, of course.

He starts on a quest to figure it out.

Velvette is also interesting, but mainly because Alastor looks good in the new clothes and dang if she could get him to model that be great. He doesn't even have to be in shows, just him wearing things out on the town is a big deal. And because excuse her? What do you mean, stop straightening your hair? You kept your natural hair when you came down here? She thought it was just straight, it's happened to a few other demons.

Meanwhile Luce's social media becomes active for the first time in a long time. There are a lot of pictures of all of the hotel residences. Even of Alastor, who hadn't let Charlie post any more pictures after the first one. The Vees start there, trying to figure out what would have caused this.

But here's the thing.

Luce knows that it makes Alastor very uncomfortable to be on the internet, or for people to know about whatever they are. So, he makes sure not to post anything that would give them away, and only with Alastor’s knowledge and consent. So, they don't get a lot out of it. Of course, the fact that it’s happening at all should clue them in, but they think it’s just Lucifer trying to promote the hotel and threatening ALastor to let him in a way that Charlie is too nice to do. it's in one of these videos that they get a big clue. It’s a video of circle time and snippets of what everyone says. When it gets to Alastor, he rolls his eyes and says that while he isn't interested in getting to heaven, he is glad he came to the hotel. It helped him learn that changing one thing isn't consent for everything. No one really understands what he means, but they know it must be connected to his odd behavior. So now they're digging into that rabbit hole.

Velvette goes to meet Al at the hotel and talks to him about wearing her clothes on the street and also if he's taking care of his hair correctly. She doesn't press anything else, though when she is asked, she is very blunt about what Vox is doing. It’s rather funny to Alastor, who strikes up a tentative agreement with her.

MATT X JOHN: old man yaoi real ehehehe :P no strong feelings on this pairing one way or another, but it's neat to think about and the semi-implications that John knows something about Outer Space would make for an interesting dynamic between the two :)

MATT X JOE: The fact that you haven't gotten to BTTR yet makes talking about this one SO DANG HARD CRISPY because like. I see it!!! I really do!!! I see it so dang bad!!! but I can't tell you why I see it because it's a big old honking spoiler!!!! augh!!!!

JOHN X CANTUS: Honestly I was gonna make a joke about how they're both performed by Jim Henson but now that I'm thinking about it they parallel each other so well...they're sort of mirror versions of each other, both being incredibly powerful figures in the Rock who can change the world around them with their music, but while John uses his abilities to make others do things they would never consider doing otherwise, Cantus' whole thing is leading others to what they're meant to do. There's also the fact that the graphic novels claim that John's dad was a Minstrel, and that John himself was in training to be one as well before discovering his ability to convince others - there's honestly a lot of potential here for a really fascinating dynamic and pairing.

POLY MINSTRELS: Oooh I'd never considered that as a pairing :0 my own personal headcanons about the Minstrels mean that I wouldn't really ship it (I headcanon Brio as MUCH younger than the other Minstrels since her lines in Music Makes Us Real are about her being a "beginner," and I likewise headcanon Cantus as being a sort of father figure for her as a result), but outside of my ridiculously elaborate headcanons for a character who shows up in 3 episodes I see the vision I really do...

GOBO X WEMBLEY: Another one that I don't ship myself due to my own personal headcanons (aromantic Gobo my beloved <3 Gobo and Wembley having a sibling/sibling-esque relationship my also beloved <3) but I can absolutely see why others ship it! They have such a strong and loving bond, and I adore their dynamic :3

Thinking about the Bladesinger wizard from 5e. What a cool concept with a terrible execution.

Ok so first off you don't get your wizard specialty until 2nd level so at first level you're just a normal wizard. At 2nd level you get light armor proficiency and proficiency with one one-handed weapon. You also get a Bladesinging sort of stance you can go into, more on that in a sec.

Now naturally since the high concept of Bladesinger is a front-line(ish) wizard, you're gonna try to maximize your AC. You're still a wizard after all, so your best bet is not to get hit. The light armor proficiency helps with this a little, studded leather gives you 12 + dex. However the Mage Armor spell gives you 13 + dex, so I guess you're saving a spell slot at least. You also get to add your int bonus as long as you're Bladesinging. Assuming a very lucky character generation with 18 int and 18 dex you can have up to a 21 AC at 2nd level. Pretty dang good, but unlikely that you'll pull that off.

Now on to Bladesinging itself. If you're smart you went with a rapier and prioritized dex (after int) so you can actually hit something. It works basically like a barbarian rage without the crash, and has the restrictions you'd expect: can't wear medium+ armor or shields, ends if you're knocked out. Also it ends if you make a two-handed attack, which is frankly wack. The bonuses you get are: add int bonus to AC (pretty good), add 10ft to your speed (not bad), advantage on acrobatics checks (cool I guess but why), and add your int bonus to concentration checks (you're gonna need it).

All these seems very neat at first, your wizard can hop up and chill with the fighters, you know, save some spell slots and do... Less damage than you would with cantrips, and die in a couple rounds cause you still have d6 hit dice and even 21 AC isn't going to stop you from getting hit like. 5-10% of the time at least.

The later features are barely worth mentioning. Extra attack at 6th level, at 10th level you can use a reaction burn a spell slot to reduce the damage by 5 x the slot level, and that one could actually be pretty handy, but kind of a hefty cost, especially since some spells will do better at defending you than this feature. Finally at 14 you get to add your Int bonus to melee damage while in Bladesong. That does let you put out some pretty solid damage with your weapon, but you still have to be in melee, and your 20+ AC is gonna do you even less good at 14th level than at 1st.

Overall, just play war wizard. Or eldritch knight. Or multiclass wizard/fighter. Or, preferably, drop 5e entirely and make a magus or something in pathfinder.

Anyways that parts over. Now I’m going to talk about my issues with how people draw him in his human form a lot.

I feel like the twinkification is real. All human designs I’ve found of Garmadon that don’t use legos ambiguous yellow color are pasty white and this madness must STOP!!! I think if u wanna make him a cracker it’s ok. It’s fine. But it is a little boring seeing the same designs scatter my Garmadon picture wall(/J I DONT HABE THA)

Many fan designs give him more dragon like traits, and I think that’s so cool, but I’ve always had a specific idea I’ve never seen executed personally. Wu clearly isn’t a fan of just showing off his dragon or Oni traits. He straight up doesn’t do it, even as a kid (he should honestly be shown with those traits cause he really doesn’t give a fuck as a child) and I believe that his tormented old man position (see the many drawings and tweets from the shows authors and writers) he wouldn’t exactly be drawn to having his traits on display. The completely reasonable solution? Scar himself permanently by wacking them off with a blade. Sounds like something he’d do in young adult hood. His horns being out insinuates he can’t just shapeshift to make them go away, so erm!! Pretty smart solution ngl!!!

so. Wu is having a great time. Also, in one of the comics (forgot the name and I can’t for the LIFE OF ME remember where I read this) he confronts. Basically the embodiment of his fears. Basically he doesn’t want to become like his SHIT father who is literally god. leave him ALONE.

We can also assume that while it was happening, Pidge was doing tech-stuff, Hunk was cooking, and Coran was doing generally Coran-ish things.

Keith however, was not.

He was laying in a dark dorm room with his head stuffed in a pillow. He didn't know why he tortures himself like this. He had just given a pep talk to his CRUSH so that his CRUSH would be confident to go out with a GIRL.

Ugh, making reasonable life decision sucks.

Shiro, of course, has been through his fair share of gay dilemmas. His psychic dad sense clued him into Keith's situation.

"Hey... rough day?"

Keith just grunted into his pillow, which meant 'yes' to Shiro.

"Dang, that bad? It this a non-existent love life problem or something else? 'Cuz I can help you with the first one."

Keith flopped over onto his back and stared blankly at the ceiling. After a minute, he held up one finger. That, or he was just flipping Shiro off, but Shiro was trying to be optimistic here.

"You've gotta help me out a bit here, bro. Do you want advice or a distraction?"

Keith decided to finally pipe up.

"Give me a pep talk and I will not hesitate to shove a knife down your throat."

Shiro held his hands up. Keith didn't respond, so he just picked the guy up and hauled him to his car. There was no protest from the black paladin, but that tends to happen when a guy rejects you without even realizing that he's doing it.

An hour later, they arrived at a small bar in the closest town to the garrison.

Seeing their destination, Keith finally I dropped for a moment to raise an eyebrow at Shiro.

Shiro just shrugged with a crooked grin on his face. “You passed the drinking age in space. I figured we could have your first real drink before going back out to the war. None of that disgusting Nunville stuff Coran offers us.”

Long story short, Keith has had 3 (or was it 4?) shots and Shiro is hanging on to Keith’s shoulders to keep his balance. He was a bit too enthusiastic, and the only noises that leave his mouth now are garbled, slurred words.

Drunk Shiro seems determined to give Keith a talk, though.

“I remember my first boyfriend. He was cute. But soooo straight. He smelled like water.”

Keith’s brow shoots up to his hairline.

“What are going on about, Shiro? Are you really gonna do this now? Also, how does someone smell like water?”

Shiro raises his prosthetic arm to Keith’s face in a poor attempt to shush him, but his lack of coordination leads him wack Keith across the face.

“Shhhh shshshshh. Let me brother you. What I’m trying to say is, cute guys are straight sometimes. So instead of wallowing in self-pity, you RIOT! You gotta go up to his dumb face and FESS UP. He flirts with literally anyone! He has to at least bisexual. And if you fail and humiliate yourself, we can watch Pitch Perfect together in a dark room and eat too much ice cream and I can yell at him for you. Alright?”

Keith shakes his head with a small laugh. Even drunk Shiro has his dumb way of cheering Keith up. And, who knows? Maybe his advice is halfway decent.

So my infection reached its end monday, I felt a lot better yesterday and even went out to go see my seester!

The funny thing is that the sinus infection somehow reset my nose to factory settings because I legit could not smell anything since I had covid in 2020 and now WHEN WERE CANDLES SO OVERPOWERING OH MY GOSH DID EVERYTHING SMELL SO STRONG??? LIKE DANG

My only qualm is that while I was sick my fever kept me up all night and I slept all day so now my sleep schedule is wack and I go to bed at 3am which is not ideal

Hmm... Maybe it's just more of a preference, like a strong preference? It feels weird to me to say what kind of body a character should or shouldn't have unless it's tied to their personality (I'm talking about DBZ types of characters😂) Or maybe it's just a way of introducing more realism into OP for some fans to relate to? But I'm just kind of spit balling here.

The proportions are so out of wack in One Piece tho (in anime/manga in general but dang Oda what you doin'?)
