The way Taiyo INSTANTLY goes in for the kill after associating the little girl with his own little brother. His berserk button has proven to be "putting his family in danger," but unlike the threat to Mutsumi, this is something that triggers Taiyo's intense grief and guilt over not being able to save his brother. Nothing in the world could stop him from saving that kid once she called out for her onee-san. And obviously it's going to have immediate consequences, but hot damn, is it fun to watch.

just watched ep7 and i just wanted to talk about one moment in particular that got my attention: yor gets chastened for not remembering the special knock in the last episode. as i mentioned before, yor is an assassin - her job is to get in, kill the target, and get out. she's never had to deal with long-term missions or people actively gunning for her, because for the most part anyone who could recognize her ends up dead within minutes. the secret knock is a detail that loid never would have forgotten, as remembering codes makes up half his job, but yor forgets all about it very quickly because she's not used to needing them.
on the other hand, the fight between yor and barnaby proves that there's no way loid would have been able to take on barnaby and win. he may be physically adept, but he's not trained to fight the way yor is - had loid been assigned to guard olka and the baby, it's extremely likely that either loid or the targets would've been killed because loid simply isn't fast enough to fight back against a highly skilled assassin with a unique weapon of choice. yor is able to hold her own specifically because she's trained her body to be a living weapon, capable of taking down people who have also trained themselves to be weapons. loid may be proficient at completing missions, but he isn't from this world, and he definitely isn't in the same league as yor or barnaby.
anyway. yor and loid professional teamup when.

okay something funny
anyone who has followed me for a while knows i'm a huge fan of stories with life-or-death games. i have a spreadsheet of different fictional games and their respective characteristics (here). i have a dangan ronpa sideblog. suffice it to say i can't get enough of this shit.
people around me know this and often share in my enthusiasm, notably my sibling. sometimes she passes on recs for stories that seem to qualify for my admittedly entirely vibes-based definition.
this is normal and expected. what was not expected was her messaging me saying she'd just been told to watch the most dangerous game, which she informed me was "supposedly life or death game?" and said she wanted to put on my radar.
i was like. yeah. yeah no ive heard of the most dangerous game before. thank you anyway for letting me know about the most dangerous game, i'll make sure it's on my list of life or death games.

Some results of my earlier adventures with natural dyes. These are dyed with blue elderberry; I had read how red and black elderberry are not very light- or colorfast, but I dyed these two or three months ago and they are doing well! Could be chance, but maybe blue elderberry is more colorfast?
I want to try changing the PH in the future for more colors. These are alum mordanted wool embroidery thread, one is undyed the other is white. In the first photo, the fibers that were originally white are on the top, undyed on the bottom, and the one weirdo off to the side was white and went in late when I decided there was more room in the jar.
No heat added to the dye bath to keep the colors brighter. I prepared it by crushing the berries, adding just enough water to cover the plant matter, leaving them overnight, crushing again and straining out the plant matter, then left the mordanted fibers in for three days; very simple. Washed thoroughly, dried in the window lol.
The white fibers became a sort of soft raspberry color, the undyed became a sort of rose gold. The weirdo is a sort of Pepto Bismal color? To be poetic
