“Good moooooooooooooooorning ladies!” 

Furina was usually in a chipper mood when she swanned out of her suite, but as her mistress left her Palais apartments, Eponine could have sworn she was beaming… and only partially because of the glowing blue jewel around her throat. 

Is that the jewel? Fantine mouthed behind Furina’s back, eyes widening as Eponine nodded furiously. It had been smaller when Eponine last laid eyes on it, but there was no mistaking the distinct shimmer and hue of the gem she had seen in Neuvillette’s hands. The one she had been asked to keep a secret from Furina. 

“Good morning, ma’am,” Sana said, blinking owlishly at the jewel as Furina’s guards trailed after her. “You’re in high spirits today.” 

“Well why shouldn’t I be?” Furina laughed. “It’s a holiday, my dear demoiselles; everyone is entitled to an extra slice of joy!” 

“I’m glad to see you more optimistic than you were yesterday, ma’am,” Sana chuckled. “Something must’ve lifted your spirits.” 

Or some one , Eponine thought, sharing a knowing look with her friend. Perhaps it was just the promotion to the Royal Guard that put her in closer contact with the Archon’s household, but Eponine could have sworn the Iudex and the Archon were becoming less and less secretive about their affections for one another. She had seen nothing concrete of course, but Eponine had seen Neuvillette carry a sleeping Archon to her chambers enough times to question whose bed she would be sleeping in. 

“Unfortunately, my birthday party can’t be all fun and games,” Furina sighed, snatching a danish from a melusine pushing a cart topped with food. “Has the Liyue delegation arrived yet?” 

“The Honorable Madam Cloud Retainer is awaiting Your Eminence in the western drawing room,” Sana said. 

“So early? My my, someone is eager to make my acquaintance, aren’t they?” Furina laughed, covering a thoughtful frown with a bite of food. It’s barely nine; did they take a speedboat from Liyue? 

“If I were invited to an Archon’s birthday party, I would be eager as well,” Sana said. “She has not been waiting long; her party arrived at Romaritime Harbor a few hours ago and made straight for the Court.” 

“No other adepti are with her?” Furina asked. 

“No recognizable figures were with Madam Cloud Retainer when she presented herself to the Palais staff,” Fantine reported. “She arrived with twenty or so bureaucrats and representatives of Liyuen merchant families; they’re currently settling into the Liffey Wing of the Palais as per your instructions.” 

“Good, good…w-were any of these dignitaries tall, golden-eyed young men with long brown hair?” Furina asked. “...by any chance?”

“Not that I could see,” Eponine said. “Someone we should be concerned about, ma’am?” 

“No no, just a…doctor of the adepti that aided M. Neuvillette some years ago,” Furina said, waving her hand dismissively. A doctor and the foremost god killer in Teyvat. 

Rex Lapis’ absence brought Furina no comfort; the last time the adepti visited Fontaine, they had come unexpectedly armed and had roughed her Iudex up. Granted, even Neuvillette admitted that he started it, but Furina still didn't like random demigods traipsing into her city unnoticed. Only one adeptus had been recorded entering the city, but all that told her was that there could be more that weren’t recorded. The Court of Fontaine was jammed to the gills with tourists and visitors from all over the world; if anyone wanted to enter the city undetected, today would have been the perfect day. 

“Has M. Neuvillette been informed of this?” Furina asked. 

“He is informed, but he’s dealing with the delegation from Inazuma at the moment,” Sana said. “They passed through Romaritime Harbor shortly after the delegation from Liyue; M. Neuvillette asked that they be received at the Opera before they were brought to the Palais.” 

I wonder if he wants to meet that Minamoto no Makoto character…or perhaps he just wants an opportunity to size up Miss Miko before she sinks her teeth into me, Furina thought. Little was known about Inazuma’s high priestess other than that she was crafty, well connected, and (distressingly) beautiful. Furina had no real rival for Neuvillette’s affections; the women who flirted with him all failed to pierce his somewhat stuffy facade like Furina had...but none of them had been beautiful spirits either. Miko had more power in her fingernail clippings than Furina had in her entire body and everyone knew dragons lusted for power. 

Oh stop it; you have too much on your plate to worry about boy troubles , Furina chided herself, shaking her head. Or rather man troubles...or rather dragon man troubles...

Chapter 1

Atlantica is located in the Mediterranean Sea (which is canon as stated in 2019 in the official Disney Princess Youtube), which is a sea connected to the Atlantic Ocean. It was first founded thousands of years ago by the Greek God Poseidon, God of the seas, storms, earthquakes, and horses. He and Amphitrite then had Triton who was assigned to become King of the Seven Seas and ruler of the Kingdom of Atlantica.

Atlantica is one of the many peaceful underwater kingdoms where King Triton resides with his daughters: Attina, Alana, Adella, Aquata, Arista, Andrina and Ariel. It is the strongest underwater kingdom in existence and where mermaids seek refuge when danger lurks outside. Atlantica is protected by a magical shield created by Triton's trident, making it invisible to humans and impossible for creatures such as sharks to approach. Only mermaids and harmless animals are welcome here.

Poseidon is born to Cronus and Rhea.

Atlantica is formed and becomes Poseidon's domain.

King Triton meets Athena in 1517 and the two wed in 1520, thus Athena becomes Queen Athena. They do not bear children until much later.

Ursula (born 1750), meets Triton in 1768 and through a series of events, ends up living at the palace. She is banned in 1782 for reasons unknown to everyone except Triton and Athena.

Attina is born 1789 (In a monarchy point of view, she is next in line to become Queen of Atlantica. However, as they are all immortals, it's hard to pinpoint how that would happen.)

Alana is born in 1790.

Adella is born in 1791.

Aquata is born in 1792.

Arista is born in 1793.

Andrina is born in 1794.

Ariel is born on December 18th, 1795.

Eric is born on July 16th, 1793.

Athena passes away in 1800, after being crushed by a pirate ship and music is then banned from Atlantica.

Music returns to Atlantica in 1810, during the events of The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning.

The events of The Little Mermaid happen during the year 1812 (in May-June, when Ariel is 16 and Eric is 18), where she meets and falls in love with Eric. She marries him the year after in June of 1813 (when she is 17 and he is 19) and becomes future Queen Consort of Italy as Eric's kingdom is located in Sardinia, Italy, making him Prince of Italy (this has been up for debate. however, in BOTH the original novel and the movie, it is HEAVILY IMPLIED that the kingdom is located in a Mediterranean country, more than likely Italy, despite the writer being Danish).

Ariel becomes pregnant with Melody in May of 1814 and Melody is born on February 27th of 1815.

The events of The Little Mermaid II are set in February-March of 1827.

As Ariel's family ( except Athena ) are all descendants of Poseidon, a God, they are all demigods and immortals.

The trident can only be used by Triton or any of his descendants (hence why Melody could get ahold of it).

Each sister represents a different sea: Attina - Bering Sea, Alana - Black Sea, Adella - Mediterranean Sea, Aquata - Coral Sea, Arista - White Sea, and Andrina is the Caribbean Sea, with Ariel being the Red Sea.

1. What songs do you associate with Kore?

2. What do you think of her friendship with Ethan?

3. Do you have any other headcanons about her?

4. Who do you think her second love could be?

5. What would they say about her in the camp if they found out that Kronos has an oracle and an adviser? [given that they know very little about her, she is most likely a girl and she sees the future. I don't think the camp will even know her name.]

OMGGG!! Thank you so much for the ask. I really love your character and I’m glad you’re interested in my opinions on her. So, let’s see…

1. There are a good bunch of songs that remind me of Kore. In fact, I was working on a playlist for her, and some songs I included are Class of 2013 by Mitski (her, Ethan’s and Alabaster’s song I think), Astronomy by Conan Gray, Family Line by Conan Gray, Army Dreamers by Kate Bush, Two birds by Regina Spektor, Goodbye my danish sweetheart by Mitski, Second child, restless child by the Oh Hellos. There might be more, but I can’t remember them at the moment.

2. Kore’s and Ethan’s friendship is my Roman Empire you don’t even know. They understand each other in a very special way, they have a certain complicity and closeness established by their similar (and deeply unfortunate) fates. They both bear the knowledge of their final martyrdom, but manage to find a bit of solace in each other, knowing that they’ll end up in similar ways. Kore tries to act as a beacon to Ethan, to advise him and pull him from some of his distorted views, sometimes not realizing that she’s on a similar track as him… Ethan sympathizes with her, attemps to help her however he can, sometimes feeling guilty for burdening her with his own struggles. To sum it up, yes, they’re both sad, angry and tragic, and they bond over this. (Oh, I also like the detail of their shared Japanese heritage. A lot of cute things that could spring from that)

3. Hmmm…A lot of headcanons I’ve already highlighted in my art. But I have to mention that she’s clearly a big animal lover and has helped Chris and Alabaster sneak some pets onto the ship before… yes, it’s a long story. I have an unposted fic about it…

I also have a feeling that her eyes would be particularly eerie, beautiful, but strange at the same time. I imagine her irises being a bit larger than a mortal’s, with pupils that fade into the rest of her eye. And her eyes are a striking, icy blue, contrasting with the warmth of her body.

Also! She stima by braiding and unbraiding her hair. Just a little thought :>

4. I’ll have to restrain myself from speculating on this. I feel like it would be a very big part of her arc to gain the courage to love somebody after the tragedy of Callum, and only you, her creator, are in measure to decide who.

5. Word would pass very quickly around camp. There would be a certain distain against her, as “traitors” are not quite aprecciated among the campers. But there would also be sympathy, and interest. Who is this girl? Who made her join the Army? Did Luke manipulate her, too? And why is she one of the extremely few demigods with prophetic abilities? She’d be quickly tracked back to the Apollo cabin, as they’re the only ones known to have a slight foreseeing of the future. And some people might try to gain information about her from the other children of Apollo, but obviously with no success.

6. I’m sure that she’s compassionate of Hal Green and his fate, admirative of his sacrifice and extremely close to her brother despite never meeting him. But there’s also a sense of uncertainty surrounding Halcyon… Could have he done anything differently, to prevent the death of so many children? No, no is the most realistic answer, but there’s still something about the wicked game of fate that defined his life that unsettles Kore. In any way, Halcyon deserved better, so much better, and knowing his story might have been one of the aspects that started Kore’s fury at the god’s unfairness.

7. Well… it depends what moment they would have met her. Most likely a mix of empathy for her situation and lack of trust due to her history with Kronos. How could she go against her own siblings?

what's the little mermaid discourse? (if it's because disney live-action ariel is black ... i have some delightful things to tell these people about vikings and how far they traveled/how many of them were moorish.)

The discourse was about how instead of presenting the culture from where the original story came from, they wanted to give a Caribbean (aka something closer to the US) feel. Many US Americans don't know where the original tale came from, and also believe that Denmark is a bland white country with nothing exciting to put on a movie, so the Caribbean would seem 'spicier'.

Now, US Americans making movies about cultures closest to them is not a bad thing. But this case is special because Disney made sure to include the culture of origin of the live action remakes (Aladdin, Mulan etc) and when it came to Denmark... that suddenly didn't apply. I don't know what else to assume other than they thought "Denmark is too white and not interesting enough because it's probably bland and the same culture as the white culture here in the US. It's not even worth digging".

From what I remember the Disney cartoon didn't have a Caribbean atmosphere (apart from the crab and his songs, I think? I watched it in Greek so I don't exactly know) and the setting was super North European with castles etc. The creators of the cartoon, in the "making of" mentioned they knew the original story and used Denmark for inspiration. It's a bit hypocritical to toss that away in the live action version.

I would leave the same comments if the actress was super pale with red hair and blue eyes. If it was still in the Caribbean, it would still be insincere to the approach Disney supposedly wants to promote (the "staying faithful to the culture").

And lastly, human diversity doesn't exactly reflect mythical creatures. You are not going to make 1/10 of the mythical creatures of the Moors look like native Vikings because the communities interacted and mixed. Now, if the Vikings had the same creature and the Moors had the same creature and the creature populations also mixed then yeah it makes sense for diversity to exist there. (Or if one of the human groups started depicting the creatures that way, that would also be respected).

I want people to remember that mythology creatures are not necessarily universal nor interchangeable, Chinese dragons are not also Scottish, the Nigerian Egbere is not also Norse and the Greek Medusa is not also Korean. There are even changes between creatures in neighboring countries. All in all, the diversity of folklore is real.

In the cartoon that is remade, Ariel is the daughter of Triton, a Greek sea demigod, and his wife was Amphitrite according to Greek culture. Their names are Greek and their depictions show them well... white, as the people of the culture that worshiped them.

In a similar fashion, Chinese deities look East Asian, Nigerian deities look Black Subsaharan African, and Indian deities look South Asian. It's an iconography thing, undeniably part of heritages around the world and representative of the native peoples. I doubt Disney should be the one to decide those depictions.

So, following the iconography of the Greek culture, it's unlikely that the Greeks would picture their daughters as anything else than native Mediterranean. And because of ancient Greek beauty standards, they would choose blond or red hair if they wanted the mermaids to be "exotic". I don't agree with these beauty standards (and I don't comply with them myself) but it is what it is, I can't change history.

However, if you want to speak in human terms, the red hair + blue eyes are extremely rare to the region and that makes Ariel's depiction in the cartoon unrealistic, as well.

But in the cartoon, Greek mythology is mixed with Danish elements because Hans Christian Andersen was Danish and red hair is quite present there, compared to the rest of the world. So... eh... not that a big of diversion if they made that mix. And if the original story of The Little Mermaid was taking place in a Black country or had such influences, it would also be logical to mix some local Black elements and appearances with Greek mythology.

If Triton has Ariel with a Black mermaid in the Caribbean then it would make sense for Ariel to be "biracial" and there is a chance she would look like the actress of the remake. If Ariel's family is like this then the current actress will be fine. If they make the whole family of Ariel Black mermaids from the Caribbean (aka not Triton and Amphitrite together) and Ariel is also Black, then fine, as well.

But my point would still stand. Why not make the story Danish since it's actually a Danish story? (Greek mythology has been done to death and horribly, pls leave us alone :'( ) I would have a problem even if Disney took the story to Germany instead of Denmark because, for me, that also shows a lack of cultural consciousness and a belief that European countries are interchangeable.

If the moviemakers go for "actually Triton and Amphitrite are Caribbean" it would be laughable because 1) Disney will take important ancient figures from the Greek culture and pass them as figures of another culture (and more recent culture, if we speak of the Black cultures in the Caribbean) 2) Disney will treat the Caribbean folks as needing of the Greek mythology to be worthy of representation in their movies. People in the area have folk tales and creatures of their own. An outsider can't just give them demigods they never had or invoked. (I mean that they didn't have Triton and Amphitrite specifically).

Edit for correction: Amphitrite is Triton's mother and not wife! But because there was no wife present in what I searched I assumed there were versions where Amphitrite was his wife based on some other searches. I have found names of his children but not their mothers. The mothers could possibly be the nymphs or neirieids of Greek mythology.

She was not an easily irritated goddess, that much Hel had thought. Petty squabbles and grievances lay more in the lanes of deities such as Ares who delighted in turning every little thing as an offense. Well, that much she told herself prior to this outing. But then, she had never met a more abrasive demigod as the bride of this wedding.

“I am really here for the cake,” She spoke in a her calm voice, tucking an nonexistent stray lock back into her coif. She had read and watched videos about the deliciousness of wedding cake. She was curious enough to try. Perhaps if she was so pleased, she’d harangue a certain demigod to create some for her. Surely a wedding cake would be easier to make than Danishes?

But that’s besides the point. Today, she was here in a wedding, with a god who had witnessed the whole exchange, and was one too happy to prove the demigod wrong. Was it petty of her? Perhaps she could be forgiven, having been locked in the Underworld for so long.

“Perhaps I should just appear to the bride now,” She mused, running a pale hand down the silk of her dress for the occasion, oblivious to the stares of the other wedding guests. All her research had told her about weddings is that one shouldn’t wear white. Red was clearly the very opposite of the color. “Am I tad overdressed?” She turned to Aengus seated next to her.

After her death, Alexander and Olivia moved to live with their cousin for a year. Before she died, she gave Olivia the Hamilton ring (gold ring, amethyst pearl-shaped center, and small emerald cut emeralds) that was said to be passed down from generation to generation and a navy blue and dark purple diary, she gave Alexander her necklace from George (5 sapphire petals, a red ruby center, and a thin gold chain).

 1766-02-20: Hamiltons In Court - John Lavien (Rachel’s husband) arrived wanting a divorce decree. He wanted the court to reward the entire estate to his son, Peter because the twins were illegitimate. Alexander and Olivia had their uncle, James Lytton, sign a false birth year for court documents that had them add two years their senior. The only thing they got was books taken from Peter, thanks to their uncle.

 1767-02-17: Hamilton’s Cousin Committed Suicide and James Jr. Left to Become a Carpenter- Peter Lytton committed suicide over the death of his wife. Alexander and Olivia are now, with no money and family, or destitute orphans. James Jr had to leave the twins behind to become an apprentice of a carpenter.

 1771-01-16: Alexander In Charge Of A Trading Charter - Since girls couldn’t work, Alexander had to. Turns out, that Alexander had the perfect “age” for jobs.

 1772-08-31: Hurricane Maria Hits - Hurricane Maria hit St. Croix, where Alexander was working and Olivia was nearby to look out for her younger brother.

 1772-09-06: Alexander Writes About Hurricane Maria - Alexander wrote to his father describing the storm and gained the attention of the island’s elite. He “wrote his way out”.

 1772-12-01: Olivia Receives a Letter That Alexander Died - Somewhere between these months, Olivia gets a letter that the ship Alexander was on sunk and there were no survivors. She was then sold to a family in Setauket, Long Island as a slave, where she meets Benjamin Tallmadge, Anna Smith, Abraham Woodhull, and Caleb Brewster.

 1776-09-15: Olivia Gets Freed - Thankfully Olivia was considered white, so she was taught how to improve her grammar, writing, healing, cooking, etc. She still had her Nevis accent, but Olivia could play it off by saying Spanish was her native language. Speaking of languages, Olivia was fluent in French, Latin, Greek, Italian, Danish, and Hebrew. 4 or so years later, Olivia was a free woman.

 1777-04-27: Olivia Reunites With Alexander - Olivia gets assigned as a spy for the continental army. The rest of the army gets word that she had the same last name as Alexander’s. After being reintroduced to each other, Olivia forces Alexander to take more care of himself (eating, sleeping).

 1777-09-11: Olivia gets shot in the side during the Battle of Brandywine.

 1777-10-18: Olivia And Alexander Presumed Dead - Both Hamilton twins jumped in the Schuylkill River and swam deeper, hoping the British Cavalry presumed them dead. They were washed down miles going with the current of the river. Alexander carried her unconscious body to the Patriot camp. Hercules Mulligan found the twins and helped them get to their destination quicker.

 1777-10-19: Washington Finds Out The Twins Are His - Olivia woke first and told Washington to read her diary for answers because she was too tired. He found out about Olivia’s life story and found out Olivia Rachel and Alexander James Hamilton were his biological children. Washington then found out about the Hamilton family ring and Rachel’s flower necklace. Olivia and Washington swore to never tell this to Alexander and to any human being (not a certain diary written in code that no one, but Olivia and Alexander can understand).

 1777-10-20: Olivia sneaks off to the Battle of Paoli, instead of resting.

 1777-10-21: The Locket - Washington gave Olivia a gold locket engraved with ‘Together In Mount Vernon, Virginia’ complete with a gold chain. Inside was a portrait of the Hamilsiblings (Alex, Olivia, Ben, and Laf) on the right and a portrait of the Washington couple on the left.

 1778-05-25: Olivia Comes Back - After disguising herself as a black-haired, Dutch woman, named Denise Melody, she returned to Washington about the British army. Olivia resigned as a spy because she didn’t want to come back to England ever again. But mostly, she was afraid that King George III would force her to marry him.

 1778-05-26: Olivia Becomes The First Woman General - After listening from every soldier in the Continental Army, General George Washington makes Olivia a General. The only difference is that she would be traveling with the main camp because she doesn't have enough experience to lead her own army. She helped train the under-trained soldiers, sewed clothes for those who were practically naked, negotiated with wealthy families to give the army food, helped with the battle plans because of her knowledge as a spy, and her overall kindness and empathy to everyone helped her rise to the top to not only the soldiers but to the rest of the people in the Colonies.

 1778-06-28: The Battle of Monmouth - Olivia saves Benjamin Tallmadge from William Bradford when Charles Lee ordered him to. The rest of the army arrives behind Washington. Olivia participates in the Battle of Monmouth. 

 1778-09-15: Olivia And Lafayette’s Relationship - In Olivia’s diary, she didn’t specify the date because she wrote “I believe it is the 15th of September 1778”. In the entry, she wrote about her and Lafayette’s relationship began as platonic but over time, it became romantic.

 1778-11-01: Olivia Joins The Culper Ring - After begging and pleading to her father and Commander in Chief, Olivia joins the Culper Spy Ring with the rest of the members: Benjamin Tallmadge, Caleb Brewster, Anna Strong, Abigail, Abraham Woodhull, and Robert Townsend. Olivia gets a golden band from Apollo that helps disguise her appearance with the use of the mist, she gives the other rings to the other members. They created a cover that the golden rings were from their deceased family member. In reality, they used it to signal the others when they need help or have information about the British.

 1778-12-15: Olivia As a Maid - Olivia disguises herself as a beaten and branded girl as a Caribbean slave, even though she was white by the Continental Army to John André's home to spy on him. She later resigns from her post before her next battle.

 1779-07-16: Stony Point - Olivia helps capture Stony Point, New York with the army.

 1779-11-17: Olivia And John Get Married - To keep the relationship between John and Alexander less suspicious, Olivia proposed a marriage proposal to John’s father; Henry, who knew about their secret relationship, agreed. Even though both adults were married, they had no love for the other than familial love. They agreed that their marriage was only public and behind closed doors, they would seek out their paramour (John-Alexander and Olivia-Lafayette).

 1780-06-17: Olivia’s Quadruplets - 9 months later, Olivia gave birth to 4 children: Rachel Olivia, Alexander John, George Benjamin, and Elizabeth Gilberta Laurens from oldest to youngest. The godparents of each child were Olivia-Martha Washington, Alexander-George Washington, George-Benjamin Tallmadge, and Elizabeth-Lafayette. Because of this, Olivia took a break from the army for a while.

 1780-09-23: Caleb Brewster and Olivia Find Out Arnold's A Traitor - After talking with Anna Strong, Brewster and Olivia ride full speed towards West Point, NY to deliver the message to George Washington. Ben and Olivia tried to shoot Arnold, but due to their closeness, they couldn't.

 1780-10-02: John André Hanged - André was born a child of Athena and knew about the Greek Gods. She then instructed Ben to give Lafayette, her one true love, to give the gift he gave her when they started their relationship, a sapphire bracelet when he visits America once more. Olivia told the three to forgive her for leaving too early, she remembered the time she gave Washington piano lessons (which failed), the time where she forced Alexander to eat and sleep more regularly, and the time where she helped Eliza with her pregnancy with Phillip and her other children. I was listening to a lecture on Shakespeare's Hamlet in comparison with the work of Saxo Grammaticus and suddenly realized that Moffat and Gatiss came out, in general, the same as Shakespeare.

Just as it is unimportant for Shakespeare – and for his hero – to commit an act of revenge and take the throne of his father 'stolen' from him, but it is important to understand what is happening, how it could happen that the connection of times broke up and it became possible what Hamlet sees around him in the Danish kingdom, Moffat and Gatiss don't really care how the vampire canon and the vampire image as such live and function. Therefore, Dracula is not perceived and does not look like a vampire story.

Strikingly, the main thing in the show is that from the first minutes it comes to the fore that Dracula is a human.

The diary, the 'report' that Jonathan writes without stopping for a month, full of delighted incoherent shouts to Dracula, is a parody of both the vampire canon and the idea of Dracula as almost a dark demigod.

As the authors often say in interviews about the film, they wanted to tell a story in which Dracula would be the main character. A three-dimensional, complex story. But complex stories are rarely stories of gods or demigods. Rather, they are rarely told in the genres that Moffat and Gatiss offer the viewer. In this genres, – fairy tales and novels (unlike myth) – stories about people are told. Or about mythical or semi-mythical creatures who find themselves in a situation where for some reason they have to live a human life.

And also – these are stories about how to become human. About the path that lies through the darkness and leads to the light. And on this path, as at the very beginning Agatha guesses (although she does not fully realize it), if love leads you, anything will become your compass.

Bio: Myles was born in Maine to his mother Lilith. Lilith was a kind mother who would give birth to a daughter, Katie when Myles was no more than six years old. when it comes to her powers, the strongest that shiloh has come to obtain would be hypnokinesis , though she tries not to take advantage of it too much. trying be the key word there, because there’s something so entrancing about living in somewhat of a dream like world, which is usually what she likes to use the power for. it first started out with delving into a fantasy land, a place for her to escape to and get lost in, and slowly she found herself falling deeper and deeper into her own rabbit hole. even as a young lady, she’d always heard people refer to her as their “dream girl” and once she realized she had the ability to somewhat make some dreams come true, she couldn’t help but sink into her title. once she got the hang of it, she couldn’t help but use it to her advantage here and there, if she had a crush on somebody she would appear in their dreams more and more. a sucker for romance, it was basically how she swayed her suitors, although sometimes it was for nothing whenever she realized it was all fantasy and never reality. still, living in dream worlds was too delicious not to become wrapped up in, that it became something she mastered perfectly. whether it was astral projecting herself into other settings while she was sleeping, or into other dreams, it seemed shiloh was entirely infatuated with living in her own little dream worlds. although, something that came hand in hand with dreams were nightmares, an area that shiloh hated getting stuck in.

something that she is wanting to dip her toes into more, would be her shapeshifting abilities. the blonde has only been able to do such in a limited ability, only recently being able to do so whenever she is fully awake. it’s uncomfortable, sure, but there’s something so mesmerizing about taking on the form of something else….or better yet someone else. often there’s many eyes on her, so being able to blend into a background and garner less attention is a rush of relief for her.

the girl has also always excelled in the levitation ability aspect of her life, shiloh has always been rather light on her feet, it was almost as if she was always floating. almost a picture of grace, it brought her face to face with something she adored at a rather early age: dancing. enrolled in classes from the age of 8, shiloh practically could float across a dance floor with elegance, something she now contributes to her levitation aspect of her powers.

with wide eyes and a soft smile, shiloh had always been rather quiet yet somehow still garnered the attention in a room. she wasn’t the type of girl to command it though, often keeping to herself, there was something magnetic and glowy about her that made her fall into the social hierarchy without really trying to. the blonde had always prided herself on being a good friend to those around her, even if they never gave her the same respect back, and soon realized that she was becoming a doormat to those around her. she kept everyone’s secrets, harboring them inside her like a vessel and remembering the little things others might have even forgotten they’d told her. soon enough, shiloh had realized she had enough dirt and ammo on those around her that if they ever did cross her, she’d use against them if need be. but luckily, thus far, the girl never had to shoot her shot to the heart just yet. a part of her always wondered if she had the guts to do it anyways, to cross those who she’d held nearest and dearest, or if she’d end up chickening out from the fear of hurting them too much. a never ending battle of right and wrong within her, she often finds herself torn and defeated by the end of the day. it makes her almost come off as flaky and aloof, although her intentions are typically anything but pure, her own overthinking tends to be her downfall. never letting anyone close enough to pick her brain, she is a beautiful mystery with expectations that had always been built upon her back. to be perfect, to be a vision of grace and poise, but sometimes she just wants to let loose and say fuck it to everything that had ever been expected of her and prove that she’s anything but a delicate flower. she has thorns that she’s never shown, and she fears if anyone gets to close, she’ll draw blood without warning.

shiloh is on the dance team, obviously, the girl lives for dancing and when she’s not dancing....she’s probably napping. 

also she has a job at the eonia theater as a cashier, so you’ll see her little sleepy self behind the counter and sometimes sneaking into the show to sleep in the back.

her mother was the type to live vicariously through her, always putting pressure on her to be “perfect” and put together. there was even a time in her younger years whenever her mother would put her into pageants, which shiloh absolutely hated, it was too much energy towards something she hated which ultimately left her feeling even more drained than normal. in fact, any pictures remaining of that time in her life are privately stored away and she refuses to revisit that memory which she even went lengths to alter from people’s brains whenever she figured out she had that ability.

the only good thing that she found from pageants was her love of dance, something that shiloh has passionately pursued all her life. she was enrolled in ballet mostly but soon fell in love with contemporary dance, and it was something that satisfied her mother, a win-win.

even though she was accepted as someone that was a part of the “in-crowd” in high school, celeste suffers from social anxiety, instead of hanging out at parties she often finds herself slipping away and disappearing. she’s much more of a homebody than someone who enjoys going out, being peer pressured is something she often falls victim to because she’s afraid of coming off as flaky, although she tends to do so anyways due to her disappearing acts.

the relationship she has with her mother is strained, because while she loves her mom, the constant pressure to “perform” and the way her mother sort of pushed her and talked so highly of her has her nervous to disappoint those around her. she constantly feels as if she has to be some sort of social butterfly, when the idea of getting close to people terrifies her, leaving her in a never-ending cycle of what she SHOULD be and what she WANTS to be.

speaking of relationships, most of celeste’s tend to fizzle out quickly once her partners discover she’s not all that they dreamt her up to be. it could be her fault, inserting herself into people’s dreams to learn more about them, that most of her relationships die out after the honeymoon phase...making her fear commitment all together.

In Frozen II, one of memories in Ahtohallan is of young King Agnarr reading a book from a "danish author", a clear reference to Hans Christian Andersen who wrote the tales of The Little Mermaid and the Snow Queen.

In Pinocchio, Jiminy Cricket, a character from the Pinocchio tale, tells the audience their story using a storybook.

“I said what I said,” The Norse goddess said sedately, even as her lithe fingers picked up the freshly baked Danish. She had wandered over to the kitchen, as she often did whenever the demigod was making use of it. She had of course hesitated at first, but having her apartment smell like baked goods was a welcome change. In fact, she might admit it was a preference now.

Still, she didn’t say anything more but proceeded to take her time savoring the flaky pastry. The pout on the demigod’s face made Hel want to poke him further. She discovered he was always the unruffled one, and despite the fact that she almost made it a daily basis to glare at him into submission, he had remained indefatigable. So, to find him getting flustered, well Hel wasn’t known for her kindness.

“It was rather slapdash,” She gestured at the pile of Danishes, glistening with peak freshness. Her expression remained the same, even as she reached to nibble on another pastry. Amusement lurked in her eyes even as she watched him try to challenge her opinion.

“My taste is impeccable,” She declared, a ghost of a smile appeared on her face. “You should know, I chose you after all.” She let that statement ring between them. While she was not at all experienced in the mortals’ way of social conversation, she was a quick learner. And she figured she would return Arwyn’s techniques right back at him. Just to see if her assessment was right.
