Got any headcanons for Clifford?
So I actually don’t know all that much cannon info about this guy and most of these hc’s are based off any info I could find on the guy already existing online
Clifford:
-Currently gets his income from being a bass player and make model, the modelling more so then the bass playing but Clifford has always loved music so he still likes to play when he can
-Being a bass player he gets along well with Floyd and Janice, when he’s in town they like to catch up over drinks at Rowlf’s Tavern
-He worked with the band back in their early years as an auxiliary percussionist and occasionally helped with vocals, he’s a very good singer. Eventually though he decided to go off on his own to find his own thing and the band respected that, they kept in touch when Clifford left so are still all a very tight knit group of friends
-He loves his fashion, a fashion king in the same vein as Teeth
-Bisexual af, he’s popular
-Despite the band (outside of Janice) not really liking Piggy Clifford is more on neutral terms with her. While he’s laid back like the band he’s still got a more serious side to him thanks to being a model and handling most of his career alone so Piggy and him can tolerate the others yelling
-He shares an apartment with Rizzo and Darci, I think this was from Muppets Tonight but I just think them all sharing an apartment is funny

im not super caught up w artry lore give me the cliffnotez
artery is a FICTIONAL (sadly) all-female southern californian thrash band from the early to mid-80s that i made up and am now obsessed w...under the cut i have a summary of their history but some "incidents" that r not mentioned but r classics to know. there r more ofc but these r my 5 favorites
slayer incident (kerry king was invited to a practice cuz ronnie wanted to fuck him. he stole one of jacks songs. jack tried to kill him but was pulled off b4 she did. jack talked shit abt slayer until her death)
ronnie's 20th birthday party (her parents got her a pink mustang ('83 not '68 which is (one of) her dream cars). jack made fun of her. she ran jack over with it. jack did not die)
laundromat pizza incident (on tour for total annihilation. went into a laundromat to do laundry, ordered a pizza. jack was drunk n high off her ass, put the pizza in the washer with the clothes. it was very gross but so funny. only time jack like. actually cried not from laughing)
the pussy cast (max broke her arm at the end of their '83 tour, jack and gale drew vaginas and boobs all over it. ronnie still has it somewhere)
pig guts incident (august '82. jack wanted to have a photoshoot with blood. darcy's uncle knew a guy who owned a pig farm. they drove to his farm n picked up like 2 barrels (200 liters) of pig blood n took it back to their house. started w jack making everyone dip their hands in the blood. darcy took pictures but jack thought it would be funny to throw some at her, turning it into a fight. there was no winner, only a loser (ronnie, who got so grossed out she threw up.) there r like 3 pictures from that shoot cuz the blood like. got into the camera n fucked up the negatives <\3)
Inspired by the emerging NWOBHM and the rapid growth of punk and hardcore in southern California, Maxine “Max” Kennedy (guitar, vocals) and Ronnie Young (drums) formed Artery in early 1981. The pair met at school when Young noticed Kennedy wearing a tee shirt for the British heavy metal/punk band Motorhead and bonded over their appreciation for Black Sabbath, Angel Witch, and the aforementioned Motorhead. Schoolmate Gale Barker was recruited into the band two weeks later, after the pair saw a performance with Barker’s then-band, “Bitch” where Barker played a bass solo and destroyed a drum kit, amplifier, and, as legend has it, an extra-large pizza supplied by Kennedy and Young after the show.
During the summer of ‘81, Artery had great difficulty finding a lead guitarist, mostly playing and practicing as a trio. Barker met Jacqueline “Jack” Walsh in a record store and Walsh’s aggressive, confrontational playing style melded perfectly with Kennedy, Barker, and Young’s. She was brought on board immediately and Artery’s lineup was finalized.
Their demo “Dig Yr Grave” (recorded December 1981) took the underground scene by storm and in the following months, a follow-up ("Spitfire," recorded June 1982) was written and released.
They were picked up by Metal Blade to record an EP in the summer of ‘82. During these recording sessions, Artery actually had so much material prepared that they elected to abandon the EP and record an LP. “No Mercy... No Peace” was released on February 11th, 1983 to great enthusiasm and acclaim in the underground metal community. Artery set off on a modest (but successful!) American tour in the spring and summer of 1983, and upon returning to California, recorded their 2nd LP, “Total Annihilation,” released January, 1984. More touring and another round of recording followed, and their 3rd LP, “Death,” was released in May 1985. This would be Artery’s last official release, as Walsh passed away on November 3rd, 1985, during the 2nd American leg of the supporting tour.
The band broke up soon after. Young went on to found Armageddon Inc., a label specializing in the extreme metal emerging in the late 80s; Barker became a visual artist and played in various California-based punk bands. Kennedy disappeared from public life entirely and has not been seen or heard from in 30 years. Whether she is alive or not is subject to much speculation. Kennedy is not mentioned in any interviews given by Barker or Young after Artery’s dissolution.

fade to black drabbles, part one
“i’m a rockstar and you’re a fan who snuck in and do you maybe wanna help me ‘blow off some steam’ back stage because ur A) really hot and B) pretty obviously willing“ au.  Somehow this also became an ageswap au too almost?  I picture Darcy as being roughly 10+ years older than Tony’s 19(ish) in this.
Darcy was sprawled out over the lounger, bass on her stomach while she idly strummed.  She’d caught her breath ten minutes ago, but the break was supposed to last another twenty.  By now, she knew, Jane and Helen had probably spirited their favorite roadie away for a quickie and Skye was probably going over the tech specs for the lighting for their second set.
She briefly considered going outside and bumming a cigarette, but Skye would kill her if she fucked with her voice before they’d had a chance to sing “Hacker/Slasher.”  Of course, she could always -
There was a faint creak as the door opened and Darcy glanced up to see the back of a tailored jacket and a head of dark hair as a stranger swiftly shut the door behind him.  He stood there for a second, and she glanced over at the mirror that ran along the length of one of the walls just in time to glimpse nerves on the man’s face before he adopted a cocky expression and pivoted to face her.
”And you are?” she asked, raising her brows.
”A fan,” he said quickly.
Darcy squinted.  “You look familiar...”
”Uh, I don’t actually think we’ve met - ”
She skimmed him with her eyes: designer suit, worn carelessly, messy black hair and big brown eyes that were probably twice as tricksy as they seemed innocent, his hands - she had a thing for hands - didn’t quite match the rest of him: long fingers with blunt tips, knuckles liberally stained with black and brown.  Not ink stains, they looked more like oil.
That was what tipped her off, well, that and the smile.
She set her bass aside carefully and stood, watching him watch her as she smoothed her shirt down over her stomach.  “So... how many people did the Tony Stark have to bribe to get himself into my dressing room?”
He startled when she recognized him, then forcibly relaxed himself.  “Fewer than you’d think, security is kinda lax.”
“I’m not usually the one who has to worry about overzealous fans.”
Stark let out a sharp bark of incredulous laughter.  “Oh, wait, you’re serious.  But you’re so - and your music - I can’t - ”
Darcy smiled, cheshirelike, and leaned her hip against the shelf that ran along the length of the mirror.  “Feel free to keep talking, you’re good for my ego.”
“I could be good for more than your ego,” he blurted, then flushed.  In spite of his obvious embarrassment at his own forwardness, he didn’t retract the statement.
She checked the clock on the wall behind his head.  Fifteen minutes till she needed to be back on stage.  “You’ve got ten minutes to impress me, tinkertoy, and if you do...”  She beckoned him closer, smirking when he nearly tripped over his own feet in his haste.  “We can continue this after the show,” she breathed the last few words against his mouth before kissing him.
“seven minutes in heaven with my longtime crush but we get locked in for hours bc our friends forgot about us” au.  Also a college au because I’m a sucker for those under certain circumstances.
Skye thumped her head back against the wall behind her.  “Ow.”
”I don’t think giving yourself a concussion is going to make this any better.”
”It can’t make things worse,” she groused, sneering at her companion.  Her poisonous expression was lost on him, trapped as they were in the pitch black of a locked broom closet.  Who even had closets just for brooms?  Tony-freaking-Stark in his stupid-freaking-frathouse, that’s who.  Skye remembered being excited to be invited to an Alpha Beta Nu party.  Excitement that had faded hours ago.
”I’m sure it could be worse,” Steve said, still trying to be optimistic.
Skye wriggled around, trying to stretch her limbs, settle into a more comfortable position, but the closet was small even before you crammed in six feet something of pure All-American beefcake and five feet whatever of her own special brand of American melting pot.
”Could you - stop.  Please.”
”You’re taking up more than your fair share of the space,” Skye said.  “Budge over,” she insisted, planting both hands against his shoulder and shoving.  It was like trying to move a boulder, only warm and covered with smooth skin and - nope, not a good time to think like that.
The little imp of the perverse that was the source of roughly half her worst ideas popped up, pointing out that getting a reaction out of Steve was at least entertaining and being stuck in the dark with her long-time crush had very swiftly gone from mortifying to maddeningly boring.
”I’m just - ” she shifted around, slipping her legs over his to try and take advantage of the limited space, “trying to get - ” she scooted her butt a little closer to his hip and braced her legs against the opposite wall, “a little more comfortable,” she finished.  It was hard to tell, but she was pretty sure that they were now roughly perpendicular to each other.  Her thighs rested against his as little as she could manage, but she could still feel his heat against her skin.
”Skye,” Steve bit out.
”What?  I’m done moving.  Keep your shirt on.  Or wait, no, give it to me.  I’m starting to get cold,” she complained.  She’d let Pepper and Peggy dress her before dragging her over to the party.  A short skirt and a sleeveless top were all well and good when in the midst of loads of tipsy-to-drunk collegiates, but much less comfortable when stuck in a broom closet.
”You’re cold?”
”Yes, that’s what I just said - eep!”  Steve had leaned over and lifted her - lifted her!  Into the air! - and plonked her in his lap.  She was shocked enough that she offered no resistance as he arranged her to his liking.  Shortly thereafter, she found herself pressed against him, her back to his chest, her legs stretching out on top of his, and his arms wrapped around her.
”Better?” he asked, his breath ruffling the shorter hair that barely brushed her nape and making goosebumps break out all over her skin.  He chafed his hands up and down her arms, solving the cold problem and starting a whole new one.
The imp was back, spurring her to shift, wriggling her hips as she readjusted her skirt to cover as much as possible.  “Well, now I’m just f - ”  She choked, staring straight ahead into the blackness because: “So, Steve,” she said casually.  “Is that a roll of quarters in your pocket, or...?”
He groaned and she felt his forehead drop down to press against her shoulder.
”So... not quarters?”
”Skye...”
”Because, I mean, if it’s not quarters, I’ve got a few ideas on how you can keep me entertained and warm.”
“got locked in a walk-in refrigerator/freezer and now we gotta keep warm somehow” au.  This takes place in the same universe as the drabble immediately previous because why not.
”Why does this keep happening to us?” Skye whined.
”Our friends are assholes,” Steve said, pressing a quick kiss to her temple.  He was still inspecting the door to their make-shift prison.  “At least it isn’t on.”
”So Loki wasn’t in on this one.”
”Probably not.”
”But we’re still stuck here.”
”...yes.”
Skye started fishing around her pockets.  Huffing in disappointment when she found nothing, she swiftly moved onto Steve’s, shoving him this way and that as she groped around his jeans until she found his wallet.
”Sweetheart, I don’t think the credit card trick will unlock - ”
”Ah-HA!” she cried, yanking out two condoms.  “Provisions!”
For the first time since they’d been locked in, Steve smiled.
“you’re a vampire with an aphrodisiac bite and i’m the drunk party-goer you decided to snack on tonight” au.
Jane was trembling, muscles going limp, and would have fallen were it not for the strong grip bracing each of her arms.  “When I asked if you wanted to look at the stars with me,” she panted, “that wasn’t a euphemism.”
There was a throaty chuckle and a brief pressure against the top of her head.  “I know, сладкий звезда, but your enthusiasm was quite enticing.”
She hmm’d, head lolling back against the cool shoulder behind her.  The sounds of the bar were still quite loud, but even so she could hear the shift of cloth moving as her captor shifted, drawing her closer.  Lips brushed her neck again, this time on the unmarked side.  “You’re not... full?” Jane asked, trepidation welling up inside of her.
”Relax, I will not take more than you can give.”
The lips were back, followed by a tongue, and teeth too sharp to be human.  Jane shivered as silky red hair drifted against her bare skin.
”Let go, сладкий звезда, let me show you a different kind of stars...”
“you’re really invested in your tv show/book/etc and i don’t think you understand how much your absentminded petting is getting to me but like hell am i gonna ask you to stop“ au.
Clint was holding still.  So still.  Well, as still as he could under the circumstances.  Those ‘circumstances’ being Darcy’s latest manicure and its continuous, torturous, wonderful application to his scalp.  The instant he’d flopped facedown onto their couch and, not incidentally, her thigh, she’d started petting him.  At first it was just light brushes over the back of his head, a futile attempt to smooth down the hair that always spiked in the back.  Gradually she shifted from strokes to scratches, lightly running her nails from his nape to his forehead, paying special attention to the sensitive skin at the base of his skull.
He was concentrating so hard on not moving, not moving, not moving, not moving, not moving.  It took him longer than he wanted to admit to realize that it had been quite some time since she’d actually flipped a page.
He pushed himself up and glared at her.  “You’re evil.”
She tilted her head to the side, “Something wrong?”
“Evil.”
“You don’t like it when I use my nails on you?” she asked, pouting playfully.  When he continued to scowl, she reached out and slowly dragged her nails from the collar of his shirt to halfway down his stomach.  Even with his t-shirt dulling the sensation, he still shuddered.
"You held out a lot longer than I expected, if it’s any consolation.”
Clint scooped her up and tossed her over his shoulder.  “As consolation prizes go, I suppose you’ll do.”

Hi I really really love your comic, I was really sad to see it at like 8 notes for a while but then I woke up one morning and it was 300+ which I was super happy to see, you deserve it! Your art is so pretty and their expressions are so good and I just keep going back to look at it, it's so so good! I really wanna learn more about the characters and story! Thank you for blessing us with such beautiful art!
Oh my god I think this is really old, but I never got a notification for this I am so sorry ((´‐公‐`))
ANYWAYS, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE KIND WORDS-- it makes me so happy to know all of this! That was my first comic ever and I was very insecure about starting it, but I'm very proud of how it came out--
About the story, it's a little something I came up with my best friend and we're actually still brainstorming it. We've never finished it because we both got into university and have no time whatsoever, but literally yesterday I started rewriting some ideas and coming up with others, which I think may be something *wink wonk*. The main plot is about a band of friends that live in a small town, far from everything and, at some point, lose their guitarist to some weird, inexplicable incident. They try to bring him back to life but end up only causing chaos ∠( ᐛ 」∠)_
Here are some concepts I made from all of the characters + a comic cover I did for funsies
Tumblr media
Here, in order are: Gustav (he/him, dead guitarist); Darcy (He/They, keyboards); Presley (He/Him, séance, vocals and bass) and Nerris (She/Her, drums).
Tumblr media
And Presley's first concept/ comic book cover concept.
He was supposed to wear a mask and be way cooler before, now he's just a awkward pole man that sees the spirit of his grandma when he's trying to shower (which i like way better, let's face it)
Sorry for the long post I just really enjoy talking about it, and got so happy someone also got interested (༎ຶ ෴ ༎ຶ)

Manhattan Performing Arts
Victorious AU *mention of a wrist injury
- Crutchie (Andre) and Sarah (Trina but not annoying) are both instrumental majors, mainly piano. Sarah also plays classical bass and guitar. She has a minor in dance, mainly jazz. Crutchie sings a little but not enough to declare himself a vocal minor. He can also play flute, guitar, drums, piano, and french horn. Crutchie is also a huge asset in the technical theatre department. He’s amazing
- They’re best friends and Crutchie always comes over for them to practice their big showcase piece.
- Davey (Tori) isn’t a student at the school, but he plays piano well. Sarah has tried to get him to audition, but he always says he won’t get in so he doesn’t audition. He often sits in on them practicing, and he unintentionally memorizes the piece. One night, he can’t sleep, and he finds himself playing Sarah’s part on the piano. Sarah heard him.
- On the night of the showcase, Sarah’s family is pulled from the audience by Denton, the school’s guidance counselor, and is told that Sarah can’t perform. When they get backstage, they find Sarah had broken her wrist. Crutchie is dismayed both because his friend got injured and because they can’t perform, but Sarah says Davey can play her part.
- With some repressed reluctance/stage fright, Davey agrees to perform with Crutchie. The piece turns out beautifully and everyone is applauding in a standing ovation after they finish. Davey is offered a scholarship to the school as a instrumental major and whatever minor.
- So yeah, Davey becomes an instrumental major, he can play piano, violin, and clarinet. He also decides to minor in vocals. Also, he gets roped into a beginner’s acting class taught by Medda where he meets most of his new friends.
- Jack (Beck) is an acting major with a minor in vocals. He does a lot of musical theatre . He and Davey bond a lot easier because Davey often does something in the orchestra for the musicals, and they often talk during breaks at rehearsals when they’re practicing with the orchestra. Eventually, Davey becomes Jack’s go to partner to help rehearse his lines.
- Of course they have that one awkward moment when Jack plays the lead in a play and Davey is his love interest and they don’t know what to do when they rehearse a kissing scene.
- Spot (Jade) is a vocals major with an acting minor. Him and Jack are exes on friendly terms, but he doesn’t like Davey when he firsts meets him. He’s quite intense and can be mean to people (especially Davey), but they keep him around lol. Did I mention he’s goth? lmaoooo
- Elmer (Cat) is a vocals major with a dance minor. He’s a bit eccentric, with dyed red hair and countless random, disturbing, stories about his older brother. He’s pretty ditzy and air headed, but he is also ambitious and amazingly talented. His aesthetic is basically cotton candy and Weenie Hur Jr.’s from Spongebob.
- Darcy (Robbie) is a instrumental major (guitar, piano, triangle, kazoo and yes that’s on his application) who carries around... a puppet? Named Bill. Who constantly ridicules Darcy and makes sarcastic comments. It’s a mystery to everyone because it’s logical for Darcy to control Bill. Oh well. Darcy is incredibly awkward, and he tried to be flirty, but he usually fails.
- Race (OC) is a dance major with an acting minor. He’s a bit pretentious and snobby, and more like Trina than Sarah. But also he’s still insanely talented. He lowkey thinks he’s better than anyone else, and he’ll flirt with anything on two legs.
- Katherine (OC) sort of dabbles in everything, but she’s technically a dance major and a vocals minor. Though, she also takes classes in ballet dancing, acting, vocals, and she can play piano. Her father is the principle, and she is insanely talented. There’s constantly rumors of her and Jack secretly going out, but they’re never true. She’s a bit elusive and distants herself from most people (except Jack who is her best friend hence why people think they’re dating). But she is still kind and passionate about her craft. Her father wants her to become a professional ballerina, but she wants to become a songwriter.

Schlagenheim, Black Midi (2019)
Tumblr media
Black Midi haven’t built a reputation as one of the UK’s (and world’s) most exciting new bands without justifying themselves at every turn. From collaboration with Damo Suzuki to notorious live shows; the punchy non-album singles to the eloquent and knowledgeable interviews: these four know what they’re doing both within and outside their music, and it’s impressive.
When listening to Schlagenheim, the sheer quality of the tracks is important to keep in mind, but that’s also easy when their brilliance is so exceptionally obvious. Every track is outstanding and notable in its own way. The thunderous and unmistakable industrial bass fuzz of ‘’Of Schlagenheim’; or ‘Speedway’, which is like Tim Darcy and Ought had been written into Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Tracks like ‘953’ and ‘Ducter’ are propulsive, enigmatic and gloriously unpredictable noise/math rock combos, and it’s impossible to pick between the record’s impressively excellent, astral deeper cuts. Played at high volume, it’s plainly evident that sheer ingenuity bleeds through every second of Schlagenheim.
So why, then, doesn’t their debut impress as much as one thinks it should? Every track -perhaps besides ‘Winter’- when stripped back to its songwriting, technical skill and sheer ambitiousness, is fundamentally either great or excellent. Black Midi are, without a doubt, both the current future of rock music and destined to be hugely influential.
The problem lies rather clearly in post-recording. Schlagenheim is decisively let down by its production and mixing, to an extent that is as irritating as it is disappointing. It isn’t that reverb itself is always bad, or that this has anything to with reverb at all. It is more the lack of impact and misjudged mixing. Go to any Black Midi live show, and it’s clear that Morgan Simpson’s drumming is the pacesetting genius that triumphantly leads the band. Listen to Schlagenheim, however, and you’d be mistaken for hearing Geordie Greep’s vocals as the star attraction. Greep isn’t a bad vocalist -indeed, he’s consistently, admirably off-kilter- but here those vocals are too prominent to have that brilliant impact. Instead of live, where Greep injects oddity and thrill with vocal snippets, on Schlegenheim they lack impact and only prove to potentially divide the listening audience between those that like and dislike the vocals.
Indeed, Black Midi have said they are not trying to recreate their live show. But the huge disparity between the two, combined with the continued, unflinching ambition displayed in the songs themselves, indicates that they didn’t intend to be heard in such a flat, unnuanced and messy manner. Dan Carey, who has handled production for this record, seems to have treated them like his previous work with the likes of Miles Kane, La Roux and Franz Ferdinand – like pop artists. Schlagenheim conforms to the old ‘indie rock’ mix of production, while the music itself is far from it; the Wall of Sound style butchering a band whose technical excellence of all four members is profoundly led by Simpson’s gospel-trained skills. Instead, he’s relegated into the role of a drummer indistinguishable from the rest of the field, while the bouts of no wave/new wave/post-industrial/art punk and feel obscured in the plateaux of the mixing.
It’s infuriating that such a talented group with so much impressive material can sound so disappointing, but it’s important to remember just why Schlagenheim feels like a let-down. Black Midi are doubtlessly one of the most important and talented groups in modern rock music, and fundamentally the tracks here never do anything to doubt that. The many phases of avant-garde and playful post-punk tunefulness are impeccably measured, as is the structure of the album as a whole. It’s just a shame that a record that could have been one of this decade’s defining works has been blinkered so profusely by post-recording banality
