Yknow I think I understand now when people were saying that the Steven Universe fandom was toxic back when I was in it, I got lucky, the fandom has been revived on TikTok and the amount of bullshitery I've seen already,,, I have got to write an esaay or smth about like "Bad Victim Criticism" and how it is so so prevelant in this fucking fandom
#I promise you guys Steven Universe Future isn't problematic trauma rep. It is so so real and honest#Steven isn't perfect and his trauma makes him make bad decisions. This doesn't make it bad rep. It makes sense#Also Steven turning into a monster at the end of the show ISN'T supposed to be reflective of his trauma and his actions#It is supposed to be a reflection how he feels about himself because he wouldn't stop bottling everything he felt up#I've also seen like. People making full on hate videos for Connie???? Like. That is a child???#Yeah how DARE a child not be perfect and perfectly considerate of all of her actions and their consequences#Also I've seen people calling Lapidot a pr*ship and like????#Okay now that I'm older I can look at Lapidot and be a little more critical of their dynamic.#Lapis is traumatised on so many levels and she does take it out on Peridot and that isn't right or good and it shouldn't be looked over#And I do get that Peridot is heavily aspec coded as well!#But this ship was so so prevelant in the fandom and cartoon network fed into it a lot#I guess it feels weird to put Lapidot - This big fucking ship that was so so popular - in with like#Stuff like Age-gap ships and Incest ships and that shit#Guys I promise you Lapis is a complicated characters and not just. A monsterous abuser who secretly HATES Peridot or smth#They were friends. Throughout the show Lapis is still learning how to live outside of being trapped somewhere. She makes bad decisions.#Because she's like. A person. And shouldn't be expected to always be perfect and moral and right#<<< I think I can say that to a lot of criticisms of characters in this show#Sorry holy fuck Steven Universe posting in the year 2023??? Insane#Sjsjsjsj#Steven Universe#SU#Android.txt

Top 5 of your most shameful ships from your fav pieces of media
oof. The one question that I am still ashamed to answer on main... :P
Well, whatever, I'm a freak. Under the cut to pretend I still have some dignity:
5) Baroryuu (Great Ace Attorney): it got far more popular recently which I'm very grateful for, but I did not forget the sheer vitriol against it and against Barok when the game came out. Sorry if I think their character development is sublime and I got teareyed when Barok started being so nice to Ryuu, saying stuff like "You are a lawyer of boundless talent" and "I believe that you saved my life" :') also I never believed that the 9 year age gap was a big deal? 24 and 33 are both consenting adults, especially in the context of the year 1900 in which the game takes place in. Please don't infantilize Ryuu, I love him just as much as Barok.
4) Jaspis (Steven Universe): says something about me that I despise Lapidot but like this one a lot. Also I can exploit a quirk in the Stevenverse and look for fics tagged Malachite if I want more of their sweet sweet toxic relationship, to avoid all the fluffy stuff I have no interested in :D but yeah, their dynamic was tragically cut short by the story. I loved the reveal that all that time, it was Lapis abusing Jasper, the cute waifish Gem taking all of her anger and resentment against the last person who dared to treat her like an object... and it just so happens that Jasper has such a warped sense of self worth that she liked being abused, and begged Lapis to come back, because she was so enamored with her power (and Malachite's - "we can fly!" aww). This was a kids show!
3) Sagamaji (Yakuza 0): yes, I really looked at that sleazy 50 something old man lording his power over the poor 24 yo who would do anything to protect his kyoudai, and immediately jumped to the most obvious conclusion. I am trash. I also might have felt something other than fear at the scene where Sagawa chokes Majima in the public toilet. But considering that I found dozens upon dozens of fics with the same premise of "Sagawa forces Majima to Do Stuff because he can", I'm glad I'm not alone, at least. I also like Kazumaji quite a lot, one of my favorite Gay Rival ships even, but that one's super duper popular 😂
2) Isaavor (Castlevania): damn you Stabbing scene, you really rearranged my whole braincells. Not that I also don't like Isaactor in its beautiful tragedy, but in this case, I am stuck between the Western fandom who deadass ignores it, except for one (1) fic I stumbled upon in a kink meme page, and the Japanese fandom who adores it but simply because they find both Trevor and Isaac hot. And I get it, I truly do. But... my parallels... my bonding... my sass... there is Something here, I feel it... like yes it's a crack ship and I love joking about Isaac having Thoughts 👀 about that whip (and those tiddies on trevor's chest), but I don't know, I think they have more chemistry than it looks.
Sonegg (Sonic): DeviantART did a number on me when I was 13. Age gap? Who cares! They want to kill each other really badly? Yeah, isn't that very sexy of them <3 there's only so much attitude Sonic can give Eggman before it looks like he wants to get dem eggs for himself. Plus, all the planning that went into analyzing Sonic to create Metal, hmm, Eggy? 👀 much like Isaavor, I'm stuck in this weird place where I recognize it's a crack ship and I mostly joke about it, but also, they're both foils of each other, they're interwoven as archnemesis, they're more similar than they let on... they have chemistry. Not a cute loving chemistry, but who needs it? :P

I’m making no mistake if you ship lapidot I’m going to offend you
(Only if you ship them as lover’s) (friends are fine)
The List of problems: 1:the ship 2:the fandom 3:the “lesbian barn mates” and last and the worst 4: r34 artists (bit unfair but I don’t care)
Let’s start
First off the ship.
The ship itself is still not good. Let me explain. People like to think that they were perfect for each other. But in reality lapis was a terrible person to peridot and had peridot left in fear and hid it from Steven. Dose that really say the word “perfect” to you? ya no. It dose not. In some scenes peridot is clearly scared of lapis. Lapis also abandoned her and put her through metal hell.
The fandom.
Some of the lapidot fandom is fine but for the rest
Based on personal experience if you dare criticize the ship you will be call homophobic even if your pride. Not only that but they treat the ship as if it’s a fucking religion. I know some are jokes but some are not. Now let’s talk about the good. There nice people if your not talking about lapidot.
The “lesbian barn mates.” (Absolutely nothing wrong with being lesbian)
Let me get this out of the way. JUST BECAUSE THEY LIVED TOGETHER DOSE NOT MEAN THEY WERE FUCKING DATING!!!! Do I have to fucking highlight it for you like what the hell?! That’s like moving into an apartment and you meet your roommate and marry them on the spot. Oh and I’m going to piss every lapidot shiper off. Peridot is asexual. And if you say “it wasn’t confirmed by the creator. So she’s still lesbian.” Fuck you.
The “stuff”
Cubed coconut is one of the first name that comes to my head because it I shit you not. When I was looking up lapidot it took 3 photos to find his R34. You thought peridots audition was bad? You ain’t seen anything yet. And there are plenty more I can name. And there are accounts detected to following them.
So to all the lapidot shippers.
Please stop with the current toxic state of the ship.
You can have separate opinions I don’t care. This was my opinion you have a problem with that too bad.
The end

(2/2)been left out in the cold. And don't tell me they can be QPR's, because you know that isn't the same. Being IN LOVE with somebody who LITERALLY can't love you back is one of the worst pains imaginable. We're allowed to be sad that the Lapidot we want, the sappy, lovey one all that fic was written about isn't "real", and allowed to construct our own separate realities where That Tweet didn't happen.
im sorry but i really cannot care. check the notes of my post. representation is way more important than your ship, and coming into my inbox saying that youre a victim bc lapidot cant be romantic anymore is the stupidest shit ive ever heard
this is exactly why we need aroace representation more in media. you wouldnt dare ship pearl with men in aus so why erase peridot’s identity? you can excuse aphobia and aro erasure but draw the line at lesbophobia?

School Sucks
One shot for day 5 of lapidot week (highschool/collage human AU) I actually finished this early wut the hec.
Lots of fluff XD
-------------------------
The thud of heavy, tired footsteps marked the coming of a exhausted blonde up the stairs. She pushed open her door, leaning back on it to close it, then dropped her satchel and flopped face first onto the bed. At the moment she could careless about food or any kind of socializing.
She had woken up at 4 that morning and been forced on an hour long jog with her cousin, amythest, then had to shower, get dressed, and catch the bus before 7. As she had reached the cursed highschool she had of course had to run into jasper, where she somehow swindled her way out of a fight or more appropriately, an ass kicking. School itself was a nightmare, as 3 different classes had pop quizzes, and of course she had forgotten about her engineering class project, having to rush to write an entire essay within 20 minutes. She was picked on in p.e., and got in trouble for talking, so was sent to run laps instead of the activity. As if the day could not have gotten any worse, she missed her bus home, and had to walk 2 miles back.
Where she was now questioning everything and groaning as she thought how the universe must have had an off day, picking on the small, nerdy, highschool student. Everything from her head, to her shoulders, to her back, to her legs and feet ached.
But somehow she couldn't get her eyes to close, so she layed there silently as the sun slowly sank. Just as she felt ready to sleep a tink sound came from her window. The blonde thought nothing of it, but a few more similar sounds followed, and she groaned as she grudgingly got up and looked out the window.
As bad as she felt, a small smile appeared as she saw a familier head of blue hair. She opened the window and crossed her arms, leaning against it. "You know one of these days You're gonna throw too big of a stone and break my window. Why can't you just use the front door like a normal human?"
The bluenette gave a loud "HA" and dropped a few more stones she had in her grip, striding over and climbing up the side of the house somehow, smiling as she came face to face with peridot. "What fun would that be? Isn't this more Romantic than a stupid doorbell?" She gave a goofy grin and peridot rolled her eyes.
"You're so cheesy, lapis. I thought you'd be at class about now?" She raised a brow to the collage freshman, a little envious of the slightly older girl.
"My professor canceled. And I figured why not come see my love?" She leaned forward in an attempt at a kiss, but peridot huffed and reared back, laughing. "Oh no, cheesball. No overly romantic smooches for you."
Lapis shrugged casually. "Fair enough. Are you atleast gonna let me in though? I'd love to say my love for you is strong enough to allow me to stay in my position, but unfortunately the power of love doesn't transfer to muscles." She moved one hand up to grip the windowsill, but looked at peridot for confirmation it was okay.
The blonde sighed and moved back, getting reminded of how absolutely destroyed she felt. "Come in then, Romeo." She moved and fell onto her back on the bed, as lapis climbed in and shut the window behind her. "What's up with my Juliet then? You okay?" Her voice started jokey, but it got a bit more concerned at the shrunken figure laying on the bed.
Peridot hummed unamused. "I've had a very shit day. I would tell you about it but there's just too much. And I have a bit of a headache." She rubbed her temples, breathing deeply. "I am happy to see you though... I'm glad you're here."
Lapis smiled warmly and crawled into the bed, lifting her girlfriend up and laying her head on her lap. "Well I'm gonna play with your hair until you go to sleep, like a good girlfriend." Peridot laughed but gave a pleased sigh as lapis began lightly running her fingers through her hair.
Despite the slightly cold weather outside, lapis was warm, and peridot quickly relaxed. She felt lapis press a warm kiss to her for head, before contenuing. "You can sleep if you want. I promise I'll still be here when you wakeup."
But peridot couldn't quite sleep with lapis here. "Nah... but don't you dare stop." She growled, causing lapis to chuckle and adjust herself a bit. "I wouldn't dare~. But I could also give you a massage instead~" she giggled, moving one hand to gently squeeze the blondes shoulder.
Peridot huffed, but sat up and slid her shirt off, before rolling and laying on her stomach. "Yes please." Lapis smiled and obeyed, massaging her worn out girlfriends shoulders. She leaned down and planted light kisses across her back, making the blonde giggle. "Lapis stop that tickles!"
"Good! I want you to giggle. I want you to be happy." She moved up and lightly kissed her cheek, her hands slowing down. "I hate to see you in a bad mood." Peridot smiled and turned a bit to pull lapis in for a quick kiss, and pressing their foreheads together. "You are freakishly good at cheering me up. Thank you..."
Lapis scooted closer and pressed their lips together again sweetly, and moved her hand around to lightly play with the back of her hair. "My pleasure, darling." Peridot giggled again and snuggled into the bluenette, sighing happily.
"I guess not everything was bad."

If Steven hadn’t interrupted.
A short “snippet” of what...you know, maybe could’ve happened if the gals had gotten a moment to themselves. It would’ve been nice to see! Right? I hope I’m not alone on this.
Mostly just wrote this to satisfy my sad, lapidot heart.
Together Again, For a Moment.
Peridot hurried toward Lapis, her shoes digging into the sand and her dress lazily flapping in the light, afternoon breeze. She just couldn’t believe her eyes; couldn’t believe that she was back, after all this time! It was hard to wrap her mind around it, really. She stopped right in front of her and stared, dumbfounded, her mouth opened and closed like a fish out of water. She needed to find the words but she couldn’t. Wouldn’t? She didn’t know.
“Hey.” Lapis beat her to it, with that little smirk Peridot had missed, admittedly.
“You’re—you’re really here.” Peridot said, mouth dropping slightly.
“Yeah, I...um. Wanted to come back,” she said, not quite certain in her words and obviously a bit uncomfortable at all the other gems collectively staring at them. She shuffled nervously and straightened her posture, looking like she was about to say something.
Peridot interrupted and flung herself into her arms, hugging her tightly. She had to get at least one hug in.
Lapis was stunned for a moment and slowly, hesitantly, wrapped her own arms around her.
“I guess I kind of missed you,” she murmured, a tiny smile dancing on her lips.
Peridot chuckled, “Oh, you clod, I missed you too.”
Lapis glanced down at her—fully taking in her change in clothing—and snorted, “Your shoes are great, by the way.” She pointed to them, amused.
Peridot gasped, upset, and made a show of pushing herself away from their hug. Her face twisted into a frown when she’d successfully managed to escape their tight grip, “How dare you insult my footwear, Lapis! I am hurt. I can’t believe you.”
“Well, they look like crocs.”
Peridot paused, taken aback—Steven had once given her an informative explanation on clothes, including footwear. And crocs, to her memory, weren’t exactly pretty. “That’s the ultimate insult, Laz, I can’t believe you returned from your intergalactic travels just to say this to me.”
Lapis rolled her eyes, fondly.
They talked for a moment longer when it seemed the Diamonds were down for a bit, and it was almost as if she hadn’t left—that awful emptiness that resulted because of her absence disappeared. Gone like the night. They obviously had some things to talk about that went unsaid but for the time being, they were glad to be with one another again.
Just bickering playfully like those old, weird days in the barn where the sun would shine down on them, peacefully, while they binged their shows and laughed.
They didn’t say it specifically but they did miss those days.
Those days were ghosts now.

Infiltration
I’m awfully late to post this now but my wifi crashed the other night so i had to wait until today to publish. Anyways, another fic and contribution to @lapidot-anniversary-week
Prompt: Human AU (also a secret agent au)
Words: 6.8K
Summary:  The Crystal Gem HQ have sent two agents to gather data from the enemy syndicate; The Diamond Authority. But when the task messes up and causes secret agents Lapis and Peridot to flee the scene, only one of them would be able to make it out safely.
AO3: https://archiveofourown.org/works/14748626
@jenhedgehog
The evening was calm and crisp for another infiltration to be ensued against enemy defenses. Or at least in this case, the “Diamond Authority”, one of the most enigmatic, ominous syndicates in the state. It was measured as a ‘toppling mission’ to break inside their division only to gather mere data. Spying on them was as daring and dangerous than having a gunfight with any of their members, and once you get caught, chances are you’re going to receive a summary execution. Not ONE agent would want to accept that fate, but Agents Peridot and Lapis Lazuli have been through so much to even find that threatening. All an infiltration was to them was just breaking and entering and nothing more than that. It was THAT simple…
…… ……. ……
Well, at least it was supposed to be simple anyway…Back in their own headquarters, Peridot was by her desk remembering vividly how alarming that mission went for her and her partner. They achieved sneaking inside the enemy’s base as cautiously as they could. The base was remarkably huge, resembling the interior of a storage warehouse which seemed like the intended manner. The two partners skulked every corner of the base, equipped and conscious, and not being discovered once for the whole hour they were in there for. It was then that both agents felt the atmosphere growing ever more vigorous while they tracked down the area they needed to find.
“I hear someone talking loud. We must be getting close.” Lapis utters as she and Peridot hid in a hallway-like area.
“I hear them too.” The blonde agent replies. “Do you have our bullets?”
An ammo clip for a handgun was brought out of Lapis’ suit and hands it over. “These are your only shells. I suppose you won’t be wasteful with them.” she says. Peridot was swift while she was drawing out her weapon and freshly loads it with the fatal shells. Her partner does the same with her own firearm. Why they had firearms exactly was incase the mission could be tense without prior notice. All missions were never pacifistic. “You got the tape recorder?”
“Never leave home without it.” Peridot replies and exchanges her handgun with a diminutive tape recorder, the item she plans on remaining in her grip for the rest of the mission. When they were assigned to infiltrate a base in the Diamond Authority, ransacking the room they were about to enter and tie up an official to get answers wasn’t there ideal interrogation style. There were people already conversing in the next room, and spilling out important information that was going to be they’re own problem, not the two agents. This was another reason why it was going to be too simple for the agents.
The hall seemed to get darker while they crept to where light was shining out from the wall. That’s where the noises were obviously coming from. The two agents finally stopped lurking and remained sedentary next to a doorway where a tense conversation was now completely perceived. Peridot then pressed the red button on her tape recorder and let it do its thing. Lapis, holding her firearm equipped with a silencer, was vigilant on the end of hall.
The blonde agent managed to peek who was inside the room. As she expected, it was woman in her late-forties, blonde hair like hers but if it was scorched with hair spray, and in the clothes of a fascistic dictator. Everyone back in the two agent’s base nicknamed her “Yellow Diamond”, the most recognizable target in the HQ.
“We have been sedentary for too long…! I can’t be the only one here noticing that!” Yellow Diamond spoke. “…We need to take action. And this plan I proposed to surround the so-called “Crystal Gem Base” and attack it from inside out will be enacted soon enough.”
Lapis and Peridot gasped inaudibly from what they had perceived. “That isn’t possible, is it?” the bluenette whispers.
“We just have to keep listening…”Peridot was peeping slightly inside the room and caught an enemy agent standing up angrily.
Their fist clenched and smacked the table aloud. “N-No. It’s too risky to enact such a ludicrous plan!” the agent yelled. “We don’t know how many other people can be inside their base. F-For all we know, we can all be killed the moment we step inside.”
Yellow Diamond’s expression was growing sternly, not something unfamiliar with Peridot though. The tyrant then brings out a Taser-like weapon under her desk and walks toward the agent who had disagreed with her. “Looks like one of us here has not paid any attention tonight…” she says as she swings her armament. “…The agents of the Crystal Gems have been decreasing thanks to our trained agents, and we will continue to gather more personnel by abducting newer ones if it’s the last thing our organization has to do to take over this state!”
The information became spicier, but it was now worse than what the two agents were expecting. Absolutely no one from the Crystal Gem base has heard of such a terrifying tactic. The Diamond Authority were “abducting” people to join their syndicate? Not only was it terrifying, but it was a matter of crisis! How deep their tactic go from abduction to convincing anyone to be a part of them? Peridot and Lapis agreed to pursuit on stealing more information when they can.
The agent that protested against Yellow Diamond was now face-to-face with her boss, intimidated by her mere presence and hoping for a respite. “So the next time any of us here forgets to listen, consider yourself “shattered”.” The tyrant says. The agent suddenly screams in anguish as her stomach met with a static outburst. Yellow Diamond was staring at one of her fellow accomplices with such cold eyes, not wanting to release the weapon on them for at least ten seconds. The agent then falls to the ground like a tipped over statue…They didn’t…die did they?
“Holy shit…” Peridot utters. Her eyes enlarged and felt her blood rushing rapidly from what she witnessed. Lapis noticed her freeze, tapping on her shoulder and inquiring what was happening. But ineptly, the sense of fear that the blonde agent was in made her unable to grasp her tape recorder anymore. The object used for gathering half the data suddenly fell from her hand and impacted the floor luridly for the room to perceive.
Another agent then stood up from their seat and faced the open doorway. Peridot snapped out of her brief spasm, hiding the tape recorder back in her suit while she silently cursed. A shadow of a large woman inched closer to the point that a Diamond agent exposed the two agents kneeling by the entrance. “What the¬––“ Both of them wanted to scream. But from pure instinct, Lapis pointed her gun at the enemy and did not hesitate to pull the trigger. The bullet met with their head, spilling droplets of blood on both her and Peridot’s suit. That marked the first confirmed kill of the night. And Yellow Diamond and the other accomplices beheld the body blacking out.
“LET’S MOVE!” Lapis orders and flees the scene with her partner.
It would not take long for Yellow Diamond to turn on a building-wide siren to elicit and ordered the capture of the intruders. Lapis and Peridot were outwardly dashing around the entire base in order to find an exit, forgetting about gathering more data at this point. They were then chased by seemingly all the enemy agents, feeling handfuls of bullets fly through their hairs whenever they reached a dead end. The kind of situation now was apparently also not new to the two agents, but it was extremely effortful trying to get out of a building that was, regrettably, unfamiliar to them.
But sometime later, Lapis discovered a door leading to another trifling hallway. She analyses and peers through it hurriedly, and it was by far the safest place to run into next. “Peridot! In here quickly!” she calls out. Her partner follows and pushes the egress open to pace right through it; Peridot coming in first and Lapis last. In the end of the hall was apparently…a different door. And glancing through the window on it saw that it lead to the outside of the precinct. It was finally the moment of escape for the two partners. Both in their minds, they were confirming this task for a raincheck. “Okay, no time to lose, Lapis.” Peridot says exhaustedly. “Let’s get out of this dump and back to the HQ…”The blonde agent sprints, adjoining the exit in a split second. Lapis was ready to follow her…but suddenly came to a standstill before moving at all.
The door behind her tried swaying open as adversaries found their presence yet again, and the blue haired agent held the door closed with her body and forces the other agents to stay out. Through the door, she heard voices threatening them to die.
“We know you’re in there!” “You’re dead once we get through!”
“Damn it, there are probably more of them now…” She says frantic.
Peridot retracts herself from opening the way out and glances at her partner. She panics as she saw her fraught with shielding the door they passed. Meanwhile, Lapis was looking back at her with an uneasy expression. “W-What are you doing? Get out already.” she exclaims.
“Wait, what?!” she replies nervously. Peridot would never be a meter or inch away from her partner, especially in circumstances like this. “I can’t do that. You’re in trouble! I can try to help––“
“No, don’t try to do anything. I can hold them off.” Lapis interrupts.
More shouting was heard through the door as it was slowly opening much wider. The petite girl does not listen to her partner’s doubts. And she was ready pull out a handgun from her suit as she had only one solution to aiding her. “I’ll just shoot them through the door to make them stop, and we can get out in one piece!”
“I-It’s not going to work.” she counters. “It’ll be impossible to aim and you have only one ammo.“
The forced gate was opening in terribly alarming rate as Lapis was ever more out-forced by the people over it. These Diamond agents were definitely fast and impatient, and the bluenette was nearly breathless now while she pushed the door with all she had. This was something firsthand for her to face and it was entirely perplexing. All she could do now was just make sure one of them, specifically Peridot, can make it out alive.
“Peridot, please! Just escape now!”
Alas she denies listening again. “…I will not! I can’t just abandon you!” she exclaims. “Lapis, I don’t want to leave without you!” Her face was glowing red and eyes appeared to be tearing up. Peridot was breathing heavily from fear, and this wasn’t the normal scenario that they were faced with. They always got out safely together, and seeing that her partner was willing to risk herself unexpectedly made her disordered and somewhat angry at her.
Lapis’ heart burned hearing her girlfriend’s in distress. She needed to stall the enemies and help Peridot more than herself. And if she made a run for it to the exit, who knows if any of the enemies had a gun loaded and ready to shoot them once they went through? She stops herself from sidetracking and tries to reassure both her and Peridot. “I’ll be fine. I…promise I will be out with you soon. Trust me!”
Her careworn appearance was just as strong to drive Peridot into equal remorse. She had no choice at this point. “You promise…” Peridot whispers. Her partner perceives her tone and replies with a wink for more reassurance. They HAD to reunite, so that their apprehensive feelings can be forgotten eventually. So finally, Peridot reached for the exit and sprints out while not looking back. But all she could look at while exiting was her last image of Lapis holding off the adversaries.
She ran far enough outside the base and now had to find the transport they took to arrive in the first place. The sound of a girl blaring from terror was heard abruptly from a distance. Peridot was sure she has heard the tone of that scream before, but she tells herself not to worry the slightest bit. She had to remind herself that Lapis was HOPEFULLY okay.
Her eyes shut and breathe heavily until finally fleeing the base. On the way back, reminding herself about Lapis was not stopping. It was too quiet, and felt idiotic for actions a few minutes ago.
“Lapis is going to be fine. Lapis is going to be fine. Lapis is going to fine…”
……. ……. …… ……
The blonde opened her eyes and found herself standing still on the corners of an office room. She glanced at the calendar that was coated with marker ink counting down the days. Peridot recalled when that mission with Lapis was, and it has passed well over a week already.
Her partner has been absent in the work place, in their home, and not even other agents could track down where she was. Peridot could feel bits of herself crumbling the more hours of apprehensions and loneliness went by. “…You said you would be back.” She whispers. The blonde was forgetting to smile, and in time, she was going to forget Lapis’ smile.
But another day of sulking was going to have to wait if she wanted to know what happened to the bluenette agent. Peridot was now running across the HQ to find the current chief of the Crystal Gems and one of her closest friends. “Has anyone seen Garnet?” she asks. “Tell her this is urgent!” While she ambled, it did not take long for someone to grasp her shoulder and stopped her from searching. She turned around to see a tall and built woman with an afro, wearing glasses that shielded her eyes immensely. “You called…?” she then asks. “And you better not be asking about Lapis again.”
“But that’s EXACTLY why I was trying to call you.” Peridot protests. “It’s been a week now since our last mission with the Diamond Authority, Garnet. Aren’t you supposed to be the slightest bit worried that my girlfriend hasn’t come back yet?”
Garnet hummed while following it with a sigh. “Of course I’m worried, but Lapis has been one of our toughest agents after you and her became one of us.” She replies. “Like you said before during your report, she’s probably still okay, and perhaps she is still finding the sources of the abduction tactic that you managed to share with us.”
Her tone made everything sound like nothing bad had happened at all. “That is so unlikely…” Peridot argues. “…But…Am I a bad partner to Lapis now, after leaving her with the enemy?”
“Don’t think that way, Peridot.” Garnet says. “She was only trying to protect you. The mission would have gone way worse if you stayed and tried to fight off.”
“We didn’t even finish the mission either…..”
Suddenly, a thought came to mind that Peridot barely wanted to contemplate with first. “You know what, fuck this…Garnet, send me back to the Diamond base!”
She was not surprised by such instinct. “You know I can’t do that, it’s too dangerous.” She replies firmly. “Their base is still relatively new, even you and Lapis got lost while navigating it. And we can’t just go ahead and send an agent on a personal side quest.”
“It’s a rescue mission!” Peridot says. “Please Garnet, I just want to see Laz again…”
The chief could not waste time negotiating about giving out tasks, especially when it involves another infiltration. But in many ways, it was deemed adequate that Peridot could handle an intrusion on her own. Previous experience, previous time visiting the base, and her worrying seemed to make her stronger. Garnet knew where the blonde was coming from, having to lost someone out of nowhere was one of the worst feelings out there.
“I’ll tell you what; I’m assigning you to search for Lapis and bringing her back to us, but AS LONG as you promise to bring back more info about the Diamonds plans. You won’t have trouble if Lapis had already found them too.”
Peridot let out a deep sigh. “I accept your task. Thanks…”
…. ….. …… ……. ……
The base of the Diamond Authority was as gloomy and big as ever when dusk finally hit. Peridot took the last entrance she tried last week, and began sneaking through the same trail as she followed the last time. It was a distastefully familiar sense. She needed to get out as soon as she could find out if Lapis was in the base at all.
Suddenly, she recognized an area of the precinct that was now more low-spirited than how it was initially. “This was where we found about the abductions.” She utters. The blonde agent walked through the hall and peeped at the same room where Yellow Diamond was caught. It was vacant and dark, and a lot bigger now that she could freely come in. God knows why it smelled like several people suddenly perished inside.
The blonde agent entered the room and discovered several papers of written manifestos and drafts about attack strategies. It was too vague to make out what they were, but Peridot cared less than to take the papers and stash them in her suit pockets. Hopefully that would count for Garnet’s task given to her…Suddenly, the lights in the room augmented ominously after the notes were stolen. Peridot then pulls out her loaded firearm and turns at every corner, ready for a brief gunfight with the enemy. But when she looked at the doorway, she was inches away from shooting who she had been dying to find.
“……Lapis?”
A tall and bleak figure with course blue hair was upended in front of the agent. Peridot was looking over them even more, and she was right. She was surprised to see her partner in one piece and could not begin to explain how fast her heart was beating. Her gun was lowered and disarmed, and she shone a warm grin as she then approaches her lost partner.
“Lapis! I’m so glad your safe–––“ she expresses with her arms gradually opening, until the bluenette raises her arm with her pistol on her hand.
Peridot halted and lessened her grin out of bewilderedness. On the spur of the moment, a bullet fired out and hovered off next to her ear. She screeched and felt her ears ringing just a little bit while she proceeded to cover it as she flinches. But before she could take a break, Lapis was walking up to her this time, and beats her face with the grip of her gun. Peridot was screaming again up until she was kicked to the ground injured and immovable.
The blonde agent was sustaining pain that she never wished to feel at all. And at the same time, she was so disordered at the moment. What was going on? What did Lapis just do?! She was groaning so much while trying to tolerate both the ringing and the beat-up, until being grabbed by the shoulder and hauled to lie on her back. Once again, Lapis punched her to the point where her glasses were now cracked, feeling absolutely more pain than ever.
The tip of Lapis’ gun was pointing Peridot’s forehead in point-blank range. “You Crystal Gem scum made a huge mistake trying to break inside our facility.” She says while kneeling closer to her target. “Don’t even think about moving or I’ll let my bullet go through your skull…”
“Aughh…Lapis, what are you doing…?” Peridot inquires wearily. “I’m trying to get you back home…”
“That’s nonsense. The Diamond Authority IS my home!”
Peridot’s eyes widened and her anxieties had worsened to this point. She wanted to know if this was all a big joke but everything was so brash to even be one. Lapis’ tie was dangling and had something new stitched on to it. As Peridot focused on it more, she was unable to comprehend such absurdity. An emblem of four diamonds were stitched on and meant that any agent who had it was working for the Diamond Authority. That can’t possibly be it…
“I’m only going to ask this once…Who are you, and why are you in our base?” Lapis asks after forcing her gun more into Peridot’s head. “Answer or you’re going to die right away!”
“…Lapis…you already know me!” she replies, shocking the bluenette as she said her actual name. “It’s me, Peridot…! I’m your girlfriend, remember? I was sent out to look for you.”
“…I never dated anyone.”
Lapis then released her aim on Peridot’s forehead and broke her left shoulder. The blonde cried in agony for the final time. “That’s for weakening you more if you try escaping me.” The rogue agent said. Peridot’s collar was clenched and pulled upwards on her feet again. She was already feeling frail from her brief damages, but she was even feeling pain equally on the inside. Lapis was like an entirely new person in view of her violent nature. In all seriousness, you don’t just beat up your partner when you reunite after a damn long time. This blue-haired girl can’t possibly be Lapis. But Peridot felt it, it really was her partner.
“We have a new way of dealing with intruders like you.” Lapis says. “I’m taking you to Yellow Diamond right away.”
Oh no, Peridot knew where this was going with. Without a doubt she was about to be abducted and brainwashed like what Yellow Diamond had said long ago. But that was not going to be likely, a risk needed to be taken to escape it. “Forgive me for this…”
Peridot had enough strength to kick Lapis’ waist and knock away her grip. She ran across the room and took cover by the only desk in order to pull back out her gun.
“Now you’re really going to be killed, Crystal Gem…!” Lapis exclaims.
Multiple shells inflicted the desk and Lapis was swiftly dodging all the ammunition flying through her. Peridot was regretful shooting rounds of bullets near her partner, but all she wanted to do was distract her and not flat out start a gun fight.
Lapis became irritated from being unable to seize the agent. So with sharp precision, she went on to shoot two bullets impacting Peridot’s left arm. Surely the blonde’s left side has not been the luckiest this evening, and aiming with one arm was not one of her strengths. Peridot shouted again from pain and stopped firing altogether. She was now behind some random desk being the most injured and dejected she has ever been in a mission. The firing stopped, and the agent needed to think quickly.
She was about to rise up until finding a peculiar weapon. It was the same thing she saw Yellow Diamond use to shock a fellow Diamond agent and fall to the ground. She picks it up and promptly scrutinizes it features before attempting to turn it on. “I really don’t want to do this…” she utters whiningly.
Lapis was inching near Peridot’s hiding spot while her frown lowered more feverishly. She looked down and reached for the blonde so she could drag her callously to ‘her boss’. But Peridot jumped out of nowhere, equipped with the electric weaponry with her only working arm. She turns it on and shoves it directly onto Lapis’ stomach, causing her to seize and screech loudly. Peridot was counting in her mind how many seconds she had to keep shocking her. “3…4…5!!!” and she anxiously let go of the Taser. The bluenette now lost control of her movement and crashed the ground unconscious. Peridot glanced at her regretfully down partner, and she could not believe how powerful the deterrent was. Lapis was now concealed with dark shades like a burnt mark around her neck. But since she was wearing a suit, who knows how much pain she inflicted then. Peridot decided to steal it and take it to the Crystal Gems, nicknaming it a “destabilizer”. Before long, she struggled to carry Lapis back to their transport and back to the base. Only little time was grasped to heal from the countless wounds the petite agent had to go through. The one thing she needed to avoid was remembering who assaulted her.
“Lapis, why would you hurt me…?”
….. ……. ……. ……
Peridot gave the news of her incident back in the Diamond’s base and recovered Lapis’ body, and her friends quickly took action and supposedly mended both of their wounds. The blonde took a long rest in the medical clinic as she lay down with bandages stitching her bruised face, arm, and almost anywhere damaged under her worn out suit. All she wanted to do after her rest was get right back up and rush to Lapis. She has never felt so confused and so broken at the time.
She pushes herself to rise and find where in the base Lapis was being kept in. As she limped across the halls nearby the medical room she exited, she bumps into Garnet who glanced at Peridot ominously through her shades. The blonde halts and looks up at her. “What do you want, Garnet…?”
“You’re up early.” The commander says.
“If you’re going to tell me to go back to that nerve-racking room, I’ll be glad to disobey. Nothing is going to stop me from talking to her.” Peridot says frustrated. She didn’t have to worry about getting punished right on the spot. Garnet was one of her friends, and Peridot was already injured in all facets. So both were empathetic to what was going on.
“Actually, I was going to see you so I can tell how Lapis is doing.” Garnet says, taking off her glasses slightly and revealing her dismayed eyes. “Pearl and I found the symptoms of her violent nature towards you. And as we feared, the Diamond Authority transformed her.” She stated. “We did the protocols and interviewed her a little. Pearl finalized that she became one of the alleged abductees by the Diamonds to have her memories erased and replace them with alternative beliefs.”
“…You mean…they brainwashed her?” the blonde asks disbelieved. Her commander nods regretfully.
“We were finding a way to regain her old memories, but we had no luck. She is too convinced that she is one of the enemies.” Garnet continued.
“But she ISN’T one of them. You must have other options in reminding her who she is.”
Garnet placed her hand on Peridot’s shoulder and made them continue to walk through the hall. “We do.” She says. “You’re Lapis’ closest companion. So we believe whatever you tell her can bring her back gradually...”
“I hope so.”
As the commander guided the limping agent through the building, they stopped outside one of the most dangerous rooms in the HQ, the confinement room. There, a large window took up half the wall and showed what was on the other side of it. Peridot gasped gaping through the bulletproof gap. Absurdly dim lights draped the chamber with only a lamp on a table being the strongest light source. An injured, struggling Lapis was sitting down next to that table, chained in both hands and ankles.
“You didn’t even heal her?!” Peridot exclaimed.
“We’re sorry about that, Peridot.” Pearl says. “We tried mending her, but she refused our aid. All we could do was just leave her like this.”
“She does not seem to be calming down either.” Garnet adds.
Peridot inches closer to the window and takes a closer look at Lapis. She once again felt like crumbling to pieces seeing what she has done to her girlfriend, and at the same time what Lapis had done to her. The rogue agent was handcuffed to her seat and struggled to let loose of her trap. But she was just as infirm as her former partner. Gosh, this wasn’t how anyone expected things to turn out in the end. And while Peridot can’t help but smile to the fact that Lapis was back, the feeling of regret and scowling was stronger as to what happened tonight.
“Send me inside, Pearl.” She orders and sighs deeply. “I’m ready to confront her again.”
“Alright then.” Pearl walks to the entrance of the confinement. “We’ll still be here in case something ugly happens, but your conversation with her will be muted for your privacy.”
The door unlocks and Peridot ambles in without hesitation. And when the entrance closed back, everything went to silence. Lapis was across the room staring back at Peridot with vicious intentions, but she did not mind that at all. Inside those malevolent eyes of hers was the true Lapis who was always amused and relieved to have Peridot’s presence nearby. The two agents were now face-to-face with only a table literally in between them.
Peridot took a seat and continued to counter-stare at the equally frail Lapis. “I’m sorry for what I did to you back in the Diamond base.” She starts off.
“Don’t be. You should consider yourself lucky that you brought us back to your own base in one piece.” Lapis says.
“You’re right, I do now that I you’re here.”
The bluenette grunted and went back to struggling her handcuffs off. “It’s true what Yellow Diamond says about you Crystal Gems. All of you act like you care about others, but really you just want to brutalize us like right now.” She points out. “Whatever schemes you have in torturing me, you and your friends will always fail to bring the rest of us down.”
“Lapis, I’m not going hurt you. Not anymore at least.” Peridot assures. “Last week both of us were infiltrating a room together and found out about Yellow Diamond abducting members. And well…I didn’t think you would be one of them. But I don’t care about that anymore! We have been dating for a while now, Lapis, Yellow Diamond couldn’t possibly erase me from your head.”
The rogue agent wanted to cringe if she wasn’t so tired to do so. “…You know, you must be a hell of an agent to know my name and play pretend with me.” Lapis mocks. “I’m a lone agent. Your face nor your voice holds no significance to me what so ever. I can’t even picture myself having a life with you outside the world of the Diamond Authority.”
“Oh come on now, Lapis. You got to remember me somehow.” Peridot says upsettingly. “This isn’t who you are…”
“I still don’t know what you’re talking about.” Lapis replies gloomily. “I was trained to kill gem agents such as yourself. Even if I did know you, I’d still try to shoot you either way.”
Peridot shook her head as she felt so much doubt. “No see, this is EXACTLY what I’m talking about.” She complains. “Lapis, I’m Peridot, your partner!” The brainwashed agent tried making sense of that name. But instead she just glared back at the blonde with confusion and anger. Saying her name was not enough to remind her who she was. Peridot had to be more reminiscent in order to get her girlfriend back.
She chokes on her own words before commencing to say something else. “I-I was the girl you called a dork for two years because of my obsessions with our common interest. I was the girl who cheered you on during all your swimming and baseball tournaments…I was the girl who comforted you after you were assaulted so many times when we were younger. And ever since then, I never left your side because of how much I care for you!”
Suddenly, Lapis squeezes her eyes closed and lowers her expression. “Wait…what…“she vents followed with sore groaning. This must be a sign that she was gradually recollecting her memories at last. The petite agent’s eyes were widening as she slightly clenches her fist with hope. She proceeds to think of more memories and her innermost feelings for Lapis in order to help her.
“You get really annoyed when I’m active and supportive to you but at the same you’re reassured seeing me like that. And before we joined the Gems, we used to be snuggled up in bed and binge-watch this one show we both liked. We wouldn’t leave the house for weeks!”
Whatever style of brainwashing the Diamond Authority did was probably not that strong. Peridot was confident that she could regain Lapis’ memories in an instant. She began grinning softly like the emotional idiot she was, but she did not care. Recalling every instance of their relationship tortured her in a good and burning way. And of course she shouldn’t raise her hopes up too high since Lapis was still willing to murder her. And all she saw in her expression now was a usual grump, only more serious and agitated.
“…A-And one time you broke my first tape recorder right in front of me, just to show how much you hated me.” She continues, ready to tear up. “But then you decided to keep it instead of throwing it out because you couldn’t bring yourself to get rid of something I owned. Lapis, I meant so much to you. And you still mean a lot to me…That’s why I came back to save you tonight.”
The blue haired agent was feeling all these vibrations in both her head and her core when Peridot expressed so heavily. She doesn’t say anything to describe her discomfort. But instead watches the girl in front of her suddenly whimper and spots a tear run down her cheek and fall onto the table.
“It’s been a long week now you know…Our friends miss you, our dog named Pumpkin misses you, a-and I miss you most of all Laz…” Peridot says solemnly. “I can’t stand this anymore. Please, at least just try to remember how much I love you…”
Lapis grunts as the sensations in her head were increasing coarsely. “I…don’t get what’s happening…” she exclaims. Quickly, Peridot rushes to the agent and takes a light hold of her. “Lapis, what’s wrong?” she asks anxiously. But her only answer was insecure murmuring. The blue haired agent not only felt these weird feelings in her head, but her chest pounded as images in her head came to be. It was déjà vu from her first memory in the Diamond Authority. Only this time, it was penetrating right through her core more than her mind. In the end, she stops grunting and struggling unnervingly. Lapis then notices her partner’s presence in front of her, but she lost all tendencies to do anything threatening. In its place, she gawks at her for a long period as silence soon augmented the room with unsureness from the two girls.
“…Peridot…” Lapis vents. Hearing her say her partner’s name at last made the blonde tremble. “I’m……so sorry.”
She suddenly gets caught in Peridot’s arms and feels a suffocating warm embrace. “Oh my stars…I thought I lost you.”
….. ….. ….. …… ……
Everything went black. No, more like everything was fading into nothingness before all that was left was dark. Lapis’ head was aching a lot as she wondered what was happening to her vision. She got up and found herself previously laying her back on a bed. The setting was also completely new…Where was she? Why was light expanding more brightly when she tried to clear her vision?
“Ah good, you’ve finally woken up.” A voice could be heard inside the room. “Let’s see here…hmm…ah yes, looks like the results were as perfect as we predicted them to be…Stay where you are, Lapis.”
The bluenette’s eyebrow rose. “I don’t…understand this.”
She was in a confined room with nothing but a bed on the center, a foldable chair by the corner, and the sound of lightbulbs and vents running. Even security cameras were attached in ridiculously vast spaces by the ceiling. Lapis was massaging her head to relax, only to discover something else peculiar. She felt wires or string connecting to parts of her head. Pulling one out, it turned out to be one of those instruments you’d find in hospitals when trying to scan brain activity. This was already beginning to feel creepy.
The entrance to the room suddenly opened and Pearl came inside. Lapis doesn’t acknowledge her presence and simply waits for an explanation from her. The peach-haired girl took a seat on the only chair and analyzed through a series of papers she was holding before she could talk again.
“Well as I said before, the results of this prototype experiment went perfectly well!” she stars off. “Not only were you the first successful patient, but we succeeded in getting your memories back after a painstaking hour of transmitting base data during your coma. We even had to use the mic most of the time, too.”
“Wait, an experiment?” Lapis inquires. “Hold on a second…I was captured by the Diamond Authority last week, wasn’t I?”
“Mhm, that’s correct. You were barely yourself when you were recovered out of their headquarters.”
So being abducted by the enemy was an actual event. But this was slowly becoming too much to take in. “…Where did Peridot go…?” she asks again. “She was with me in a different room a while ago. She had me in her arms after recovering my memories...”
Pearl was no longer in a jubilant mood and shifted into a rather hesitant state of mind. She was unprepared for revealing what happened to the ACTUAL Peridot. “Oh uh…let’s talk about that later…After all, I still need to survey you on your–––“
“No, I want to talk about this now.” Lapis interrupted. “I almost killed her when I was brainwashed but then we made up. Peri was the one who brought me back, not some experiment…!”
Pearl lowered her papers and heaved a sigh. “I guess those series of transmission caused you to have some kind of lucid dream.” Pearl points out. “But I’m afraid you aren’t going to enjoy hearing what I have to say about Peridot…”
The bluenette was feeling her eyes tear from unease. “Just fucking tell me already!” she demands.
“…Lapis, you already killed her.”
Pearl bit her lip as soon as she saw Lapis’ eyes widen and clench her fist gradually. Both of them were at a loss for words, the bluenette being unable to accept the so-called truth and Pearl having no idea how to comfort her. “…N-No, that can’t be.” Lapis utters.
“When you were sent back to our base, Peridot was the one who brought you all the way here. But she collapsed the moment she busted through our doors while carrying you.” Pearl elaborated. “We checked her up and performed medical procedures…But she was bruised badly, and lost an awful lot of blood from the bullets she inflicted. We’re still finding out another way on how she died, but all of the results would lead to you being the cause of them.”
At that point, Lapis herself was collapsing as she kneeled on the ground. Her hands ran through her hair and wanted to pull her locks out. This wasn’t real, this felt like it was her actual coma. Lapis would never want to hurt Peridot or even end her life.
“What have I done, Pearl…? This can’t be real…” she whispers before letting the first teardrop spill.
“We were too late. Everything you must have remembered was fake from your trance…I’m so sorry Lapis.”
The agent did not know what was even real anymore. Pearl’s tone in her voice when she said Peridot was gone was too solemn to be some kind of sick prank. Lapis couldn’t process any information, let her emotions flow properly, or physically contain herself from weeping. All that was traveling through her mind was Peridot, nothing but images of her old partner smiling, sulking, and kissing her. And the fact that she had lost all forthcoming periods of her even receiving those again was suffocating her. “This isn’t fair!”
She could take hints on how she even murdered her, or at least ask Pearl more of the details. But it was the last thing she wanted. She wanted Peridot back to embrace her where she was kneeling. She wanted her hand to nuzzle her abrasive blonde hair and lightly kiss her forehead in which she would be solaced by. Peridot was everything to her, and somehow she couldn’t bring herself to say ‘I love you’ before they could even say goodbye.
“I miss you so much.”

Hopefully this will work because I am in a restaurant on my tablet and mobile tumblr is weird asf.
Tumblr media
Yeaah. I get frustrated in SU fandom (a medium with mostly female main characters, incidentally*) especially because Jasper, Bismuth, and Amethyst get so much hate and guess what? They’re not the standard slender femmes. Jasper and Bismuth are subject to a fantastic amount of butchphobia, especially from guys who consider themselves “woke” and make jokes about them being unreasonably angry. And that’s especially suspect with Bismuth because she’s *coded* black*. The same guys who, incidentally, think Lapis is a poor pretty uwu delicate water angel who doesn’t want to hurt anyone honest uwu (nevermind, of course, that I think RS?, has gone on the record saying that Lapis wanted to take her problems out on someone and Jasper was convenient. Jasper was a) much less powerful than Lapis, b) subject to months of emotional abuse at Lapis’ hands. But, of course, it’s Jasper that’s the abusive brute and Jasper who’s painted by fanfic authors as an animal who deserves Lapis’ abuse and shattering at her hands). When a slender jasper turned up on the show, Jasper fans were told to stop liking the original because Skinny Jasper is the good jasper, even though she appeared for like a minute and we know nothing about her. When Topaz appeared, we were told that we finally have a "nice" butch to like and can stop liking Jasper and Bismuth now. And so on.
And Amethyst? She’s a tiny little chubby who is coded Latina, and lapidot fans rip into her and her fans all the time because she’s “fat” and gross and totally doesn’t deserve to be shipped with Peridot. Up until I turned off anon asks a few months ago, I was still getting “kill yourself” messages from angry lapidot fans for daring to like Amethyst. And, of course, if anyone vents frustration about Lapis getting away with things (abusing Jasper for months even though Lapis herself is more powerful, creating a living situation where Peridot did not feel safe enough to express herself or thoughts she felt might incur Lapis’ wrath) and her fans being assholes, we’re all suddenly just mad because she’s ~*~depressed~*~ and secretly we all just hate women.
So, yeah. Woman-majority mediums has their problems, too.
Anyway! I think you’ll like B5, too. Just some notes: It’s not DS9 and was intended to be a novel for television, so it has a lot of novel-variety overwriting in the dialogue. I think it’s fun, though, and enjoy rewatching to pick up all the foreshadowing. Also, B5 really didn’t make a whole *thing* about its same-sex representation the way Dax’s ex-wife did when that episode came out (or, say, evil!Kira falling into Evil Bisexual tropes). It’s just really kinda subtle and you get whammied with the admission in season 3 if you weren’t already open to the growing relationship between those characters. And, of course “you’re just a nice couple on honeymoon” said to a couple of guys going spying to another planet. So I thought that was nice. And the science felt a lot more natural to me.
Anyway, I love B5. I like Star Trek, too, but B5 filled in all the little cracks in my soul when I was a lost, angry, hurt little late-teenager/young adult and I’ll always love it for that. To quote something I needed back then: “Babylon 5 was the last of the Babylon stations. There would never be another. It changed the future and it changed us. It taught us that we have to create the future or others will do it for us. It showed us that we have to care for one another, because if we don't, who will? And that true strength sometimes comes from the most unlikely places. Mostly, though, I think it gave us hope, that there can always be new beginnings. Even for people like us.”
* Although boy is it telling that most of the male fans all glom onto Steven and the minor male characters/townies or create male gems outright rather than bother with writing the gems, who are generally coded female and stated by RS to be nonbinary women.
** I would argue that Jasper is coded some variety of minority, but I’ve seen crewniverse human AU art that suggests otherwise and lord who even knows anymore. But she’s Native to me because a) her birthplace is literally on reservation land, b) that whole thing with her being made in a crappy Kindergarten and her sisters being substandard to gem norms. Peridot trash-talking the place sounds a lot like gringo tourists going through the reservation and trash-talking the housing situation and lack of amenities. (NB: While I have been living on the reservation for the past few months, I’ve not grown up here and don’t have the long-term effects of growing up here. *But* I have memories aplenty of spending every summer in a poor, tiny little village in Mexico and crossing the border every time because my parents didn’t want to deal with me, and that had a huge impact.)

Certain SU fans have a very black and white way of viewing the show and to be honest it’s pretty worrying.
These fans tend to see characters as either only 100% good, or 100% evil with absolutely no in-between. It doesn’t matter what a character’s motives are, if the fandom has deemed them bad, then they are bad and unforgivable. If the fandom deems the character good, then that character is flawless.
Ever since the recent bomb, certain fans have been going after Lapis, and Lapidot shippers.
I’ve seen a number of posts going into detail about why what Lapis did was proof that she’d been abusing Peridot. I’ve seen a number of posts calling her a bitch for leaving.
Let me get one thing out of the way, Lapis taking the barn was a dick move, but at the same time I don’t think she was being completely malicious.
That being said, I want to go into why I find the whole idea of Lapis abusing Peridot to be absurd.
Point 1: Lapidot is an abusive ship because Peridot was always afraid of being honest with Lapis.
I could see this being a viable point if not for one problem. Before she saw Lapis again in “Same Old World” Peridot had been shown that being honest is not always good.
In Back to The Barn she shows honesty with her words and actions. She was raised on Homeworld where Pearls are servants, so that’s what Peridot thought of Pearl, she was a servant. Instead of explaining it to her, they have a contest where both Pearl and Peridot tie.  Peridot honestly believed she should be the leader because Pearl would be below her according to Homeworld’s hierarchy. She is punched in the face, and despite beating Pearl in the fight, she doesn’t get the praise she thinks she deserves. Steven does finally explain things to Peridot. Garnet just says “welcome to Earth.”
In Too Far Peridot has a fun time making some comical observations about the rest of the Crystal Gems and Steven. When she uses that honesty with Amethyst, Amethyst gets offended and refuses to talk to Peridot.
In It Could Have Been Great Peridot makes the honest observation that had the colony been completed it would have been great, but now thanks to Rose, the Diamonds made a Cluster that would destroy the Earth. In Peridot’s pov, the Crystal Gems screwed up a perfectly good planet. She is threatened by Garnet who only angrily tells her that she doesn’t know what she’s talking about.
In Message Received Peridot attempts to reason with Yellow Diamond and get her to see that Earth can still be a viable place for Gems. Peridot is all but told to piss off, and called a failure.
Peridot’s experiences with being honest have not been well at all.
The first hint of Peridot not being honest with Lapis is in “Beta” where Peridot reprimands Amethyst for mentioning Jasper.
“Uhh we try not to say that word.”
I guess now the consensus is that when Peridot said “Jasper”, Lapis waterboarded her or something.
But look at Lapis’s reaction in this image.
Tumblr media
Peridot informs Amethyst that they try not to say that word.  While maybe we can’t take Peridot’s twitter as complete canon, we could assume that Lapis and Peridot did talk about what happened in Alone At Sea. What most likely happened was that Lapis said she didn’t want to talk about it, Peridot persisted until Lapis got upset.
What I don’t think happened was that Peridot said “Jasper” and Lapis then beat the crap out of her.
Moving on, Lapis’s expression reads as one of “You know you can say that word, you don’t have to be so protective of me.”
In fact, I would dare say that Peridot might be a bit too overprotective of Lapis.
Point 2:  Peridot was afraid of Lapis who was agitated in Raise The Barn. This means that Lapis was abusing Peridot.
Alright, let’s look at why Lapis is so agitated. She’s scared, she’s terrified. She has just learned that Steven escaped the Diamonds. She believes that the Diamonds are now going to come to Earth to take their anger out on it.
She does not want to be caught in the middle of another war. Last time she was, she was poofed, trapped in a mirror, and left in there for around 5,000 years. Lapis was clearly conscious during this imprisonment.
When a Gem is bubbled it is heavily implied that they go into a sleep like state.  When Bismuth was unbubbled in Bismuth she asked how long she was out. She acted surprised when told the passage of time.
Lapis’s imprisonment in the mirror would be akin to solitary confinement which is one of the absolute worst forms of torture you can inflict on anyone.
Lapis is afraid that the same thing will happen to her again. Her fears might be a tad unfounded. She’s not alone for one thing. Unfortunately fear is a blinding emotion.
It is also obvious that Lapis wanted Peridot to come with her. She didn’t realize that Peridot wanted to stay on Earth and only thought that Peridot wanted the stuff. Her act of uplifting the barn was her solution. She believed that if she did that, Peridot would come with her.
It isn’t until they’re about to leave that Peridot finally confesses to Lapis that she doesn’t want to leave. Peridot wanted Lapis to stay but Lapis’s own fear had blinded her. She did not want to get caught in another war.
Point 3: Lapis took the barn to punish Peridot.
We don’t know why Lapis took the barn, but I will say that it was NOT to punish Peridot.
Lapis’s expression upon leaving is one of complete anguish.
Tumblr media
(thanks to @jenhedgehog for letting me use this screencap.)
She absolutely does not want to leave but she thinks she doesn’t have a choice.
Compare this to Jail Break where Lapis is forced to make another important decision.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is the look of someone who wants to do something, even when they know it’s bad.  Lapis displays no remorse, anguish, or regret in these images.
With that aside, why did Lapis take the barn? It was probably for one of two reasons.
1.) She wanted something to remind her of Peridot and their lives together. It was also very likely that she didn’t want to be alone and taking the barn was her way of keeping a part of Peridot with her.
2.) She wasn’t thinking clearly when she did it.
tl;dr - Lapis did not take the barn as a means to punish Peridot.
Point 4: Lapis still has to have control over everything.
Alone at Sea contains the following conversation between Lapis, Steven and Greg.
Greg: Wow, I think I did a number on that dock. Maybe somebody else should take a shot at being captain. What do you say, Captain Lazuli?
Lapis: I shouldn’t. Steven: Go for it, Lapis. Lapis:  Don't put me in charge! Oh, sorry. I mean, y-you shouldn't trust me with the boat.
Tumblr media
This is from the official SU comic.  We see once again that Lapis is afraid to exert control over something.
Lapis is afraid of controlling anything now.
Point 5: Finally I have seen posts say that Lapidot is abusive because they have their issues at times.
The New Crystal Gems showed us that Peridot isn’t afraid to go against Lapis. They fought in that episode but more importantly, they made up.
There are always going to be problems with relationships. The good relationships are the ones where the participating parties are willing to work it out.
If episodes like Barn Mates, The New Crystal Gems, and the SU comic is any indication, Lapis and Peridot will work things out again.
No relationship is perfect. Garnet even says “Love takes time, and love takes work.”

Updating a very very old rant of mine:
1. HATE AND DEATH THREATS ON TUMBLR:
This is a issue that affects tumblr and OTHER websites.
First of all if you are sending hate to some OR already did don’t you DARE say:“Oh i was saying what i THOUGHT.”
PLEASE STOP BULLSHITING ME RIGHT NOW AND DON’T YOU SAY:“My parents are cops” OR “i live in another country nothing can happen to me.”
DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU COMMITTED WITH THAT????
Ok LiSTEN.
You Cyber bullied a HUMAN BEING. YOU CAN LITERALLY GET ARRESTED FOR THAT.
IM NOT EVEN KIDDING. STOP WITH THE:“i was giving my opinion” OR “they Deserved it.”
NO THEY DIDN’T GENIUS. YOU SENT HATE OVER A STUPID SHIP,ETC.
do you know how much that can AFFECT someone close to the person you told to kill themselves??!!
OF FUCKING COURSE YOU DON’T.
Stop being a lil bitch and stop sending hate over stupid reasons.
2.SHIPPING:
If you are a shipper then you KNOW the shit im going to talk about.
If you ship (SomeoneXsomeone) OBVIOUSLY THERE’S GOING TO BE A PRICK HATING OVER A STUPID FICTIONAL SHIP.
TAKE THE AMEDOT AND LAPIDOT SHIPPERS.
MAY GOD FORBID SOMEONE SHIP LAPIDOT/AMEDOT.
CAUSE APPARENTLY BECAUSE A SU STORY BOARD ARTIST DESERVED THE HATE FOR MAKING FAN ART OF THE LAPIDOT SHIP.
Never have i EVER seen a issue with shipping and this one is a Issue thats spreading like a Wild Fire.
IF YOU DON’T LIKE A SHIP:
-unfollow/Block
-Ignore the ships
-DONT SEND HATE.
3.THE FANDOMS IN GENERAL:
OH MY GOD HERE I GO.
The fandoms are so TOXIC that not even RADAWAY will help this bitch.
I Am a person who is part of a fandom like Steven universe and overwatch.
BUT THE LEVEL OF TOXIC IN THE SU FANDOM IS SO BIG THAT THE SHIPPING SIDE OF THE FANDOM SCARED A WAY A STORY BOARD ARTIST FROM TWITTER.
Look i LOVE overwatch but don’t start the same bullshit with the ships.
Like i said.
iF YOU DON’T LIKE THE SHIP BLOCK/UNFOLLOW THE USER THAT POSTS ABOUT THE SHIP.
Another problem in some fandoms is the issue when artist draw fanart about a character.
(*cough* this goes to you sorcream *cough* )
If an artist draws a CHUBBY character SKINNY,PLEASE don’t correct the person, don’t send hate,ETC.
First of all you can’t force to draw the character like they originally look like because THEY drew it NOT you.
Second of all if they draw the character skinny and EXPLAIN that they have a hard time drawing the characters CHUBBY.
DO FUCKING NOT SEND THEM HATE,DON’T TELL THEM TO DO IT ALL AGAIN,DON’T TELL THEM TO KILL THEMSELVES BC THE CHARACTER IS SKINNY.
Instead of being brutally fucking harsh on the artist, why don’t you give them a Reference on body types???? or EVEN A TUTORIAL.
Sending them hate about how they drew the character will make them SO fucking insecure about posting fanart They made or art of something they Like.
Will i get negative asks about this??
Yes but A big middle finger to them.
IN GENERAL.
---------
As you can see thats an old rant, a thing im gonna touch on thought is shit about ships(canon×oc and the usual shit shippers get their panties in a twist or and a few other things) and my little few last rant about drawing chubby characts bc this is hella important to me.
Lets Start with the ships and one of the many important points!!
repeat after me:
Dont ship minors with an adult, please dont make fanart about it, Its pedophilia, pedophilia is not ok, pedophilia is disgusting, Please dont ship something having to do with pedophilia. I've seen a lot of this always and its disgusting, Please don't encourage it either. ( also, dont sexualize minors. Im looking at you ST fandom.)
Second thing about ships:
Do not get your panties in a twist if someone else ships something you dont like, Please dont send them death threats to the person, Please in general dont so something hurtful.
Thank You!!!
Now Onwards to the art topic im going to, This has to do with some events years ago that happened to me and its most definitely important that i say this!!
Let people make fan art of whatever they want (Minus the kind of ship above w pedophilia.), Dont police artists on what they SHOULD be drawing. Please ESPECIALLY don't police artists when it comes to body types. this was something that was a drama i got involved in with a now gone user(sorcream) who was butthurt about artist drawing chub characters skinny.
before you all get mad at me and go directly to sending me hate just listen to me for a moment.
i am not saying that skinny is the ideal body. im saying that theres people who struggle to draw chubby characters and in the end they get either skinny and/or in between.
its not ok to police/witchhunt people for that. I will repeat myself but people sometimes struggle with chubby characters.
if you could perhaps give them some tips on how they can improve on making round characters.
Ok, thats all. thank you!!
(( @sexandangels @sxftcotton @waste-disposal-tailgate @harlomshoujogem if you guys could reblog this it'd be great..!! ))

Our Inevitability
A short little fic I wrote over the weekend inspired by Dark_Mage_of_Ylisse’s story on AO3 titled Nobody Loves You The Way I Do. I love the idea of Yandere!Lapis, so I couldn’t resist trying my hand at it. Don’t be afraid to tell me I suck!
Check out her interactive blog for the story too! It absolutely makes my day! @su-mafia-yandere-lapidot-au-blog
How did it end up like this?
Hair disheveled, fingers twitching, and shoulders hunched, Peridot curled into a ball on her single bed in the darkness of her room. She had her alien printed blanket wrapped tightly around her like a cocoon; a barrier between her and the harsh, indescribably complicated world outside. It gave her some physical comfort, but did not help to ease the raging hurricane of thoughts swirling in her head.
It's got to be a joke.
Really, it had to be. There was no way any of what Peridot had heard was real. It was just some silly joke she was fussing unnecessarily about.
She seemed so serious though...
Peridot's day had started out very common. She ate breakfast with her mother, showered and dressed in her usual green hoodie, rode her little moped to school, met up with her friends, and went to class. It was the typical day of a junior in Beach City High, and Peridot was very content for it to be so. She was never a fan of unpredictability. She lived her life with certainty and accuracy. She knew what she wanted, and worked hard for it. Monotony was not something she would let get in her way.
Her friends helped with said monotony, their antics and lively discussions keeping her entertained enough to bear through the dullness of school life. They were the best people she could ever ask to have around. Her friends and fellow juniors Pearl, Amethyst, Garnet, the freshman Steven, and her best friend, Lapis, who was a senior.
Lapis in particular had been particularly delightful. They had met in Peridot's freshman year, quickly becoming close after Peridot noticed Lapis' wonderful drawings and complimenting her on them. Lapis at first seemed a little hesitant to open up to Peridot, but thanks to Peridot's incessant and at times quirky nature, Lapis cracked. The two had been inseparable ever since.
The only problem was that none of her other friends seemed to like Lapis, other than Steven who liked everyone without fail. When Peridot had introduced Lapis to the group, they had been cordial and open to the idea of adding her into the fold, only to reject her a few days later. They all tried advising her to stay away from Lapis, much to Peridot's shock. When she tried questioning them as to why they thought Lapis wasn't a good person to be around, they all immediately went tight-lipped. To this day she couldn't get them to explain why they were so wary of her friend. Only that they disapproved of her relationship with her.
This, of course, did not stop Peridot from hanging out with Lapis as much as possible. As stated before, Peridot knew what she wanted and would not let it get away from her so easily, and she most definitely wanted to be Lapis' friend... if not a little more eventually...
Much to her groups' chagrin, Peridot and Lapis were practically glued at the hip. Peridot would always meet up with her friends at the school gates, and then find Lapis waiting for her at the main entrance. They only had two classes together throughout the day, but Lapis would always somehow find a way to meet Peridot just as the bell rang and walk her to her next class. They had lunch together, free period together, and would always be partners in any type of group project in their classes. They shared their hopes, dreams, and almost every thought in their heads. They would spend the night at each other's' house during the weekends and cuddle while watching TV or playing video games.
They were, by all intents and purposes, best friends.
Peridot would easily contribute most of her happiness to Lapis, and had hoped to one day maybe tell her as such. But as much as they shared together, Peridot kept that her little secret. She wasn't ready to confess her feelings to Lapis just yet, she'd told herself. One day she would, but she had needed time to prepare.
Little did she know she would never be prepared for what was to come.
As her day had carried on and she followed her usual routine, she noticed something odd about Lapis' behavior. When they met in the morning she seemed a bit clingier, letting their hug linger a little longer than usual. Peridot hadn't minded, but did indeed notice Lapis reluctance to let go. After first period passed Lapis seemed anxious for Peridot to come out of the classroom as she bounced from foot to foot. As they walked Lapis kept brushing their hands together, as if wanting to hold it, making Peridot blush. During their first class together Peridot could feel Lapis continuously staring at her, only turning away whenever Peridot glanced back at her.
It was a little overwhelming, and it had Peridot worried. Which was why when their shared free period came around she decided to confront Lapis about it.
What a mistake... she would think later, looking back on it while hiding under her blanket.
When Peridot questioned her best friend about her behavior, the answer had been unabashed and immediate.
"I think we should cut the bullshit, Peri," she had said, an odd look in her ocean blue eyes.
Peridot had been taken aback by this. "W-What do you mean?" she had questioned, nonplussed.
Lapis had taken Peridot's hand and cupped it tightly, pulling her closer. This had made Peridot blush.
"We've been skating around each other for two years now," Lapis explained, a wide smile spreading across her face. "I think it's time we stop this game of cat and mouse and just give in to our feelings, my sweet Peri-baby."
Peridot had stared, stunned into silence. Those words had not just come out of Lapis' mouth!
"I just can't help myself anymore," Lapis went on, reaching out to caress Peridot's already flushed cheek as she spoke, still holding Peridot's hand close to her chest. "Seeing your beautiful face every day... smelling your delicious scent... feeling your skin against mine... it drives me crazy. We're meant to be, and I'm tired of playing these silly games around the fact. It's about time we just be together. You agree, right? Peridot?"
Peridot had finally been able to snap out of her shock-induced trance and, without even thinking about it, pulled away. She almost regretted it, for the look of shock and hurt on Lapis' face stung deep in her heart.
But the words Lapis had just spoken held enough force behind them to push her away.
"Lapis, what are you saying right now?" Peridot had silently gulped. "I-I don't understand what's happening right now...”
"Oh God," Lapis had gasped, covering her mouth. A look of terror crossed her features, as if she were witnessing a murder. "Was I... did I read the signals wrong? You don't... you don't like me, do you?"
"N-No!" Peridot stammered quickly. "I-I didn't say that I just-"
The look of terror had quickly evaporated at Peridot's words, joyful exuberance quickly taking its place as Lapis reached out and took Peridot's hand again.
"So you do love me!" Lapis had interrupted. "I knew it!"
"Wait, what?!" Peridot had sputtered. "L-L-Love?!"
"I love you too, my sweet Peri-baby," Lapis had nearly sung, a look of unmeasurable joy on her face, her smile so wide almost every tooth was showing in her mouth. "I've loved you since that first moment when you complimented my drawings. No one else ever said such nice things to me with such sincerity before. Your beautiful green eyes had captivated me so easily."
"Lapis, wait-"
"I tried to fight it at first, tried to avoid you, hoping these feelings would go away but the moment I gave in... it was nirvana being by your side. I just couldn't get enough of you! You were the sweetest drug, each and every moment we spent together just like the first high. It was never enough, I had to have more and more!"
"Please, just listen to me for a sec-"
"All those nights thinking of you, those sleepovers where I'd watch you sleep all night long; every moment of every day just looking at you... it was painful knowing you weren't mine yet. But I knew you weren't ready, I gave you the space you needed. I waited, but I just can't wait any longer! I can't stand not having you be mine, my darling."
Peridot had felt as if her ears were on literal fire. "L-Lapis!"
Lapis had finally seemed ready to listen, as she dialed back her smile to a more tender one as she leaned forward, intently staring into Peridot's eyes. "Yes, my love?"
"This..." Peridot had coughed, feeling as if someone had a hand clenched tightly around her throat. "This is too much! I-I don't know how to process this!"
Lapis had cooed softly as she ran her thumb over Peridot's knuckles. "It's okay, I know. It's so relieving to me as well, to finally get it all out there! Knowing we can finally be together... there is no greater joy!"
"This is all a joke," Peridot had finally surmised. "Y-You're messing with me!"
The frown on Lapis' face showed her dismay at these words. "What are you saying? I would never mess with you, my sweet Peri-"
"No!" Peridot had yanked her hands away, shame coursing through her. "This isn't funny!"
"Peridot-" Lapis had tried to speak, but she didn't give her the chance. She had quickly turned on her heel and ran in the opposite direction, not daring to look back at the horrified look on Lapis' face.
She hadn't even bothered to go to her locker to retrieve her books before running out of the school and speeding home on her moped to cry her eyes out in her bed. She had spent quite a few hours just lying there, shivering and sobbing, flitting in and out of a restless sleep until finally night came and she ended up right where she was: hair disheveled, fingers twitching, shoulders hunched, and curled into an emotionally compromised blanket cocoon on her bed.
Peridot had cried herself out at least an hour before, feeling like an empty pit that was once a lake; a replay of that conversation running constantly in her mind, each and every time making her feel more and more numb.
Why would Lapis do that to her? Even if she really didn't know beforehand that Peridot had feelings for her, that still was not right. It was just mean! And Lapis had never once been mean like that to her before. Why so suddenly would she play such a cruel prank?
Unless...
What if she hadn't been joking? What if...
"No way," Peridot whispered out loud to herself. "All those things she said, they couldn't be true."
Lapis being in love with her? Watching her sleep? Obsessing over her so intensely? Absolutely ridiculous! Peridot was not that special that someone like Lapis could be so fervently in love with her. It just had to all be a joke. There just wasn't any way!
Peridot pulled her blanket tighter around her, letting the dark thoughts pull her further down the pit of despair. She closed her eyes and just let time pass her by, unaware of how much of it escaped her before a soft knock came at her door.
"Not now mom," Peridot called out hoarsely, knowing instantly who it was. Her mother must have gotten a call about her sudden absence from school and would most likely be worried about her. "I'm not feeling so good."
Despite her protest, her bedroom door opened slowly and she could hear her mother step into the room. Peridot had her back to the door, having preferred to face her window to stare out into the night sky while entrapped in her thoughts, but she could hear the footsteps of someone softly walking towards her bed.
"Mom, please," Peridot tried again, groaning. "I don't feel very well, so I just want to-"
"Is my Peri-baby sick?"
Peridot's blood ran cold at the sound of not her mother's voice but of, "Lapis?!"
Peridot shot straight up from her huddled position on her bed, eyes wide in horror and her mouth open wide in shock as, indeed, Lapis seated herself at the end of her bed, a look of concern in her blue eyes.
"My sweet darling," the blue haired girl gasped upon seeing Peridot's disheveled appearance. "Your eyes are bloodshot and puffy! Have you been crying?"
"H-How did you get into my house?" Peridot ignored her question with one of her own. "Where's my mother? Mom!"
"Hush," Lapis scooted closer to Peridot, unfazed by Peridot's cry for help. "Your mother isn't here right now. It's just the two of us."
Peridot felt her heart sink into her stomach. "W-Where is she?"
"Don't worry about that right now," Lapis waved her hand, dismissing the question. "We need to talk-"
"I am very worried!" Peridot screeched, cutting her off, panic coursing through her. "I am concerned, disconcerted, perturbed, synonyms!"
Lapis giggled loudly, covering her mouth to try and hold it in. "Oh my god! You are so cute when you freak out! You just start throwing out words I barely understand and it makes me smile!"
Peridot felt her face flush at this, suddenly realizing just how close Lapis had scooted towards her.
"Why are you doing this?" Peridot whispered, gripping her alien themed blanket tightly in her fists. "Why are you teasing me like this?"
"I am not teasing you," Lapis answered, her giggle fit ending. She leaned her face closer, to which Peridot responded by pulling back, pressing the back of her head against the wall. "Okay, maybe right now I am a little." She gave a sly grin for a moment, but then pulled it back into a tender expression. "I do have to ask you something, though, my love. Earlier, you said I was messing with you. I've been trying to figure out what you could possibly mean by that. Please, my angel, tell me what you meant."
"What do you mean 'what do I mean'?" Peridot exploded. "All of this... these sweet nicknames, calling me beautiful, telling me you... you love me... it's all obviously a joke! You're pranking me, and it's already gone too far!"
Lapis' tender expression shifted, taking Peridot aback at the sudden intensity on her face. Lapis slammed her hand against the wall next to Peridot's head abruptly, sending a jolt up and down her spine.
"You think I'm lying to you?" Lapis accused, a hard edge to her voice. "You think this is all a joke?"
Peridot suddenly didn't know what to say. Any and all confidence she had of this all being some sort of elaborate prank was dwindling quickly, and very acutely she was realizing the possibility of how dangerous Lapis could actually be.
"Y-Yes?" Peridot finally mustered the courage to answer weakly after a moment of being stared down.
"I love you!" Lapis asserted. "I have loved you since the moment we met! You are all I think of, all I could ever want and more! You are my Goddess in human form, and I worship you religiously, my dear, sweet, confused love. I have done everything I can to make you happy, to keep you close and safe! I tried to force those 'friends' of yours to stay away-"
"You what?!"
"-but they refused to listen, and I wanted so, so badly to make them disappear, but I didn't because I could see they made you smile. And that's all I've ever wanted, for you to smile for me..." Peridot could hear Lapis' nails dragging down the wall next to her head, a sound that made her cringe. "I am in love with you, Peridot. Don't you ever doubt that."
Peridot felt like throwing up. This couldn't be real, couldn't be happening. This was a nightmare - a horrible, horrible nightmare.
Please wake up!
"If you aren't willing to say it back just yet, I understand," Lapis lamented softly, leaning forward to press her forehead against Peridot's. The blonde winced, wanting to pull away but trapped against the wall. She was forced to sit there as Lapis brought herself as close as possible, whispering sweet, yet deranged words into her ear. "I have been very patient, and as much as it pains me I will continue to be so, for you."
Peridot felt tears start to form at the corner of her eyes, gently falling down her cheeks in thick streaks. This was too much, too scary. She felt sick and dizzy and ready to faint. She couldn't handle much more of this.
"Lapis, please..."
"Sssh," Lapis hushed her once again. "It's okay, my love. I will let you rest for now, but I promise I will always be close by to keep you safe. We'll be together soon once you realize our inevitability."
Lapis closed those final few centimeters between them and kissed Peridot on the lips gently, eliciting a mousy whimper from the terrified young girl. When she pulled back, she held a look of pure euphoria, her tongue lashing out to savor the taste of Peridot on her lips.
"I love you, Peri-baby," Lapis said, finally pulling away. "You will see me again tomorrow, I promise. Oh, and don't tell anyone about this, okay? I don't want to have to hurt anyone... again."
And with that, Lapis left the room, a dreamy, crooked smile on her face as she closed the door behind her, never once letting her eyes stray from Peridot for even a second until the door was closed.
Peridot broke down then, her once empty lake now roaring with crashing waves as she spilled new, hot tears.

So anyone remember that Lapidot fluffy/angst peice I wrote a while back, Handful of Kisses?
I’ve updated it and kinda changed it a bit to use for a Mixed Media project in one of my classes. Of course I had to remove the names and shit and cut some stuff out, but here’s the version I’ve made for my class.
The number of kisses that we had shared could be counted on hand, and that was okay.
From the start, from when I had first set eyes on her, there had been something about her that I wanted to know. She was beautiful, she was absolutely, breathtakingly beautiful.
I saw her for the first time at lunch on the first day of school. She had been sitting with her own group of friends as I lurked at a table in the corner with my own friend. She was a rather short woman with untamable, fluffy blonde hair, and would nod, shake her head or giggle at what her friends said. When she spoke, she was loud and full of gestures and movements equally as loud, as though she put everything she had behind her every word.
I watched her the whole time. I watched her for weeks after that, unable to bring myself to approach her.
Eventually, with enough prodding and encouragement from my own friend, I came to the table, to her. She greeted me with a smile and someone asked if I wanted to join them. I returned the greeting with a smile, shaking my head at the offer and wordlessly held out a piece of paper with my number on it. The pink tone her cheeks took assured me that she was like me, and she stammered a string of incoherent words in her flustered state. I had smiled, she was so cute and I turned on my heels to walk away.
That night, she called. I hadn’t expected her too, but was immensely happy that she had. We spoke, held a conversation for the first time and I found myself enjoying the rather sarcastic humor this girl had. We talked and agreed to meet up for brunch that weekend.
When I had come that morning at ten, I saw that she was already there, sitting at a booth by the window. As soon as those green eyes locked onto my own blue ones, she practically jumped from her seat, waving me down and drawing far too much attention to herself in her excited and loud mannerism. It was adorable. I could feel something warm erupting inside my chest and spreading across my whole body.
I took a seat across from her and we got some coffee. I had mine black and she dumped enough sugar and cream to kill a horse in hers. I had learned that she didn’t like bitter flavors, though she was highly addicted to caffeine. I myself wasn’t much of a coffee person, and just stirred the cup quietly, not drinking it, but finding the warmth of the cup in my hands and the smell of the brew to be soothing.
We talked. I found out her name, something I hadn’t actually known until then. She had a lovely name.
For the rest of our high school year, we had a light, almost innocent relationship. We never did much in terms of physicality, besides hand holding, hugs and cuddling on the couch while we watched movies and cheesy TV shows. Most people were surprised that we were together, because we weren’t as intimate as the relationships they were familiar with. But, that was fine. We weren’t an intimate pair, neither comfortable with it, and we were perfectly content with what we already had.
For all of high school, we never once kissed.
Our first kiss was on graduation day. We threw our caps in the air out on the large football field outside of the school, everyone was cheering and everyone was happy. I saw her through the mass of students between us. Our eyes locked and we began moving towards each other, meeting in the middle of the crowd. My arms were around her waist, hers around my shoulders.
Our lips met for the first time in the three years of being together. We were in love.
Summer came, we were busy with work, but still found time to be with each other. We were always by one another when we were free from work. Summer came. Summer passed. She moved on to college and I began to seriously pursue art. I began doing commissions online, putting up paintings to local art shows and selling them when I could. Eventually I moved out of my parent’s house and followed her to her new city where she attended college, got an apartment close to campus.
She moved in during her second year, though she practically lived with me her entire first year, college regulations wouldn’t let her move off campus as a freshman. I did what I could to support her. I stayed up with her during the stressful all-nighters and helped her with review sessions, anything I could do to help her out. She in return would offer me support during my years of art, sometimes coming home with new paints or brushes to surprise me with.
Years passed and I still remembered that day fondly. The day that we graduated high school and the day that we shared our first kiss. I still loved her, loved her more and more with each passing day, more than words could ever hope to describe. We didn’t need to kiss every chance we got to show just how madly in love we were. We showed it through the simple but meaningful words we exchanged, the looks gave and actions we took. We didn’t need a kiss to prove love existed between us. We knew we were in love, that’s what mattered.
She graduated from college and got herself a job working with computers and programs. Technical stuff I could never understand, and I gained more traction as a professional artist, gaining more buyers and more followers. We made friends in town, maintained a few of our friends from school. Though we would lose contact with some of them, it was okay. So long as we had each other. We would always have each other.
We were twenty-six when I proposed and she accepted. There were tears shed, laughter shared and we held onto one another the entire night, not daring to let go lest the dream shatter and reality return. We shared our second kiss under the blanket of a starry night sky.
Her mother insisted on paying for most of the wedding, we had a period tension with her on who would wear a dress. We settled for both wearing one. The engagement lasted a year and a half, we took our time finding the perfect location, the perfect theme, the perfect everything, and if it wasn’t perfect, that was fine. We weren’t in a rush, and the engagement could have lasted much longer if our family hadn’t kept us on track.
We settled for a wedding on a beach. I always wanted to get married by the ocean and she was happy to oblige.
We were married, the day was beautiful and everything had gone right. As we stared into each other’s eyes, we could tell the love between us was as strong as ever. We shared a kiss when we were cued to do so and sparks danced between us like our very first kiss. I butted my head against her, laughing and feeling as weightless as I held her close, feeling her warmth against me. I loved her so much, we loved each other so much that the entire world had vanished and it just her and me.
Years rolled by, we eventually moved out of the city and bought a nice little house outside of the city. It was peaceful, quiet, and away from the noise and distraction of the city, offering us a privacy to be who we were without the prying eyes of the rest of the world. Our friends grew up, got married and had children of their own. They’d ask when we’d have our own children, if we’d adopt, if we’d do a donor. But we were content without one. We had a dog named Pumpkin and we loved him as though he were our own child.
We never kissed, we never touched one another in the same way that other couples always did. We never felt the need to, never felt the desire to. We were happy how things were, satisfied with what our relationship gave and offered.
Our next kiss didn’t come for many years, not until she was on her death bed. I was at her side, her hands held in my own and watched as the woman soundly slept. Her face, once round and smooth, had become a home for wrinkles, and her blonde hair had greyed. Her hands, wrinkly, boney, were always shaking. Even though she was sick, was dying, she was as breathtakingly beautiful as the day I had first seen her. Through teary eyes, I still saw her beauty and warmth, still saw all of what had made me fall in love with her.  My heart still swelled with love for her.
Slowly, she stirred. She saw me and she smiled, her face full of warmth, joy and a pure, innocent light of untainted love. She pushed herself up slightly, wheezing as she tried to breathe. Her lungs were failing, her body failing. The doctors said there was nothing they could do, that if she had been younger then there could have been a chance, but she was too old now.
It was fine. We got to have a long and happy life together, almost sixty years since we first fell in love. We were fine if our story was coming to an end.
Looking into her eyes, they still shined and sparkled. She didn’t say anything and neither did I as I smiled back. I leaned down and gently, lovingly, kissed her goodbye.
It was our last kiss. She died just a few days later. Peacefully and smiling.
All our time together, all the memories we had made, to me, they were as pure as light and brought warmth even on the coldest days. I regarded all our time together fondly as I laid on my own death bed just two years later. My friends and family surrounding me, telling me how much they loved me and how much I meant to them all.  I smiled and nodded, though my mind was full of thoughts of the love of my life. I thought of her vivid green eyes and bright smile. I thought of how soft she felt and how well she fit in my arms whenever I held her.
My eyes grew heavy; my breathing grew slower. It was getting harder to hear those around me. But, I could hear her laughter instead, more clearly than ever before. A light, beautiful laughter, my name being called. A genuine joy in the voice that I had always loved.
I thought of her lips on my own that day as I closed my eyes and went to join her, to give her one more kiss.
