Eddie Alcazar’s avante-garde-noir-dystopian- hedonistic and beautifully obscure, new sci-fi film:
Divinity
The holy grail of experimental shit that is so pleasing to me. Normally not a Bella Thorne fan, but I will watch this simply for the original score and cinematography. It’s also refreshing to see Blade actor Stephen Dorff making an appearance. Overall, a very uncanny plot with a strange lineup of cast members but it’s pretty cool.
Soundtrack co-produced by DJ Muggs who I’m writing an article about and Dean Hurley, who worked on the Twin Peaks: Return soundtrack; very fitting for this type of film score since the genre and theme of Divinity closely resembles a David Lynch masterpiece or something directed either by Stanley Kubrick or by Alejandro Jodorowki. (I watched Holy Mountain twice). Darren Aronofsky is a picnic compared to this.
I’m interested to watch this next week.
I guess all I can say is, make some kratom tea or whatever you prefer to drink, roll up a little j, make a little charcuterie board or a spicy hummus and chip spread and prepare to be mesmerized by quality cinema.
Watch it on a bigger screen for your viewing pleasure. Keep an open mind and watch till the ending.
If Metropolis and Alien had a baby, I think this film would be an accurate representation of just that.
