Punched Cards

In 1955, 4.5 megabytes of data was stored on 62,500 punched cards, illustrating just how far technology has come since then.
Punched cards were a primary method of data storage and input in the mid-20th century. Each card could hold a small amount of information, typically one line of code or a set of instructions.
This process required significant physical space and manpower, with each card needing to be carefully organized and processed by a machine.
The image of 62,500 punched cards serves as a striking reminder of the limitations of early computing technology.
The massive volume of cards needed to store a relatively small amount of data highlights the inefficiency of early data storage methods.
As computers evolved, more compact and efficient ways of storing and processing data emerged, eventually leading to the development of modern digital storage devices.
Looking back at the use of punched cards emphasizes the rapid technological advancements in computing that have occurred over the last several decades.
Today, we can store far more data in incredibly small devices, thanks to innovations in memory storage and processing power.
The 1955 punched card system now stands as a historical marker, showcasing the ingenuity and persistence that led to the computing revolution.

We need to talk more about Viktor's back.
that is not a simple corset or binder to keep his posture. There are screws embedded into his back. In his bone. This was put there by surgery. Something that definitely had a hell of a recovery period that made Viktor insane for not being able to work.
Also, this is a external object that definitely needs caring and Viktor for sure cannot do it, so Jayce must have being disinfecting it and doing a proper care routing.
Also, also. Viktor is definitely on some painkillers, cause... Look at it! gzzz
#arcane#viktor#arcane viktor#jayvik#a lot of uses of the word definitely :v#i want a fic focused on his back plz is not only his leg thats fucked up#i need ppl that had back surgery and ppl with chronic back pain input on this#u know for data for... something

5 Major Benefits Of Outsourcing Data Input Services

Businesses continuously seek methods to improve overall efficiency and streamline their operations in the ever-changing corporate landscape. Outsourcing data input services is one technique that has grown in favor recently. Businesses can focus on their core strengths and gain advantages by assigning data-related work to specialist service providers. This blog post will look at the five main advantages of outsourcing data input services.
Understanding Data Input Services
Data input refers to collecting data from a variety of sources, such as digital and creating catalogs, or it may also entail conducting online research. Businesses have to collect data according to their needs and use it to enhance corporate growth, as an abundance of data is being contributed to the digital environment every second. Thus, one of the most in-demand services in the modern world is data input. This is due to two factors: First of all, numerous businesses lack the continuous time and focus needed for data entry.
The process of entering, updating, or verifying data into a system or database is the focus of data entry services. A vast variety of data, including client information, financial transactions, inventory records, survey results, and more, may be included in this. Ensuring that timely, accurate, and full data is entered into a system for various business purposes is the aim of data input services.
Why Should We Go For Outsourcing Data Input Services?
When you outsource the data input services, it gives you the leverage to spend your quality time in other core business areas and reduce your data management costs along with infrastructure costs. Second, you also can manage your data efficiently with expert help.
Businesses often outsource data input services to specialized providers to streamline Business processes and ensure efficiency. Outsourcing can be particularly beneficial for time-consuming tasks and require attention to detail, allowing organizations to focus on their core competencies while the outsourced service providers handle the data-related tasks.
Categories Of Outsourcing Data Input Services
Data input from paper documents/document data entry
Data input from web-based applications
Data input from forms/resumes
Data input from client software/application
Data input from catalog/catalog data entry
Data input from business cards
Data input from OCR
Data enumeration/data keying/data capturing
Data input from images/image data entry
Data input from one file format to others
Let's Explore The 5 Major Benefits Of Outsourcing Data Input Services
By entrusting data-related tasks to specialized service providers, businesses can focus on their core competencies and achieve significant advantages. Here, we will discuss about five major benefits of outsourcing data input services:
1. Cost Savings:
Businesses can save a lot of money by outsourcing data input services. By leveraging the expertise of external service providers, companies can avoid the expenses associated with hiring and training in-house staff.
Additionally, outsourcing eliminates the need for investing in infrastructure, technology, and ongoing maintenance. This cost-effective approach enables organizations to allocate resources more efficiently and redirect funds toward critical business functions.
Without committing to a long-term agreement, you can scale up or down your use of outsourced services and simply pay for the task completed.
2. Access To Specialized Skills And Technology:
Expert outsourcing partners frequently have cutting-edge technology and specialized knowledge specifically devoted to data input services. These suppliers make sure that your data processes take advantage of state-of-the-art solutions by keeping up with the most recent developments in the industry.
By tapping into this expertise, businesses can improve the accuracy, speed, and quality of their data input processes without the need for continuous in-house training and technology investments.
Accounting data entry services are the area of expertise for outsourcing providers, who also possess the necessary skills and experience to manage extensive financial transactions.
3. Increased Efficiency And Flexibility:
Outsourcing data input services offers unparalleled scalability and flexibility. Businesses can easily adjust the level of services based on their fluctuating needs. Whether there is a sudden increase in data volume or a temporary decrease in workload, outsourcing provides the agility to scale services up or down accordingly. This flexibility ensures that companies maintain optimal efficiency without being burdened by unnecessary overhead costs during slow periods.
Outsourcing can lead to faster turnaround times for tasks like product catalog updates, order processing, and data quality control.
Online data entry services can lead to faster, more efficient, and improved database management.
4. Risk Mitigation And Data Confidentiality:
In the present digital era, data security is of utmost importance to companies. Reputable suppliers' data input services frequently include integrated security features and regulatory requirements. Strong security measures are put in place by seasoned outsourcing partners to safeguard private data and lower the possibility of hacking.
Additionally, these providers regularly update their systems to stay compliant with industry regulations, offering businesses peace of mind regarding data security and privacy.
Data security and privacy are given top attention by Indian outsourcing businesses, and employees are required to maintain high data security under the Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).
5. Focus On Core Competencies:
Collecting data takes a lot of time and might take focus and resources away from a business's primary strengths. Businesses can focus on their main goals, such as product development, marketing, and customer support, by outsourcing data input services. Organizations can improve their overall productivity and strategic focus by assigning regular data work to others.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, outsourcing data input services is a strategic move for businesses looking to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and stay focused on core competencies. By partnering with specialized service providers, organizations can leverage expertise, access advanced technologies, and ensure scalability while mitigating risks associated with data security. In the dynamic business landscape, outsourcing data input services emerges as a valuable solution for companies seeking a competitive edge and sustainable growth.

the neurologist i shadow is so funny bc she has a valley girl accent and yet she's the smartest person in the room. this woman was casually doing case consenus ab a man w frontotemporal dementia in the highest girliest voice imaginable. i want to be her i think
#case consensus is basically where several neurologists/doctors meet to decide what the patient's case actually is#im genuinely not sure why this medical center does it this way but they write down data on paper THEN input it into the digital system#which i have qualms w bc i feel like it wastes so much time#but literally my whole role at this internship is inputting this data into the system so i should probably be grateful they do it this way#but in that one meeting everyone was all over the place so this at the ending of the meeting this woman goes#“that... was frantic.”#in the most valley girl accent known to man#and ever since ive integrated this as my response to everything#youre right. that WAS frantic#she also was like “sorry im unfocused. need lunch rly bad” at one point during the meeting#this neurologist is just like the rest of us fr

genuinely one of my fav things ot think abt wrt tadc is like. the technical side of things. like idrk a lot abt computer science but i know a little and also like sci fi so i can follow a little of it and its really cool to think abt. like to me? the reason why abstraction occurs is bc, in the circus, a person is effectively JUST their mind. the mind is in a computer and all the signals its got is being read and interpretted and thats what gets the player model and how the person percieves themself to be standing or smth. and then the computer just sorta puts them somwhere and goes from there. so then abstraction is those signals starting to get jumbled up and jumbled up until the computer cant read it anymore and it just... gives the person a mess of an avatar bc it cant interpret them any other way. and bc the persons mind is all mixed in w computer junk this process kinda... scatters them a bit? and the computer can only send signals to the mind and affect its perception, but once all the computer and the mind are too jumbled up the computer cant put it back together
#idk if this even makes sense#that one fic also was really inspiring to me.... the one titled smth like zooble interrogating caine#i really like how that fic interprets it all#i need to reread it sometime itss been a minute#part of this post is directly influenced by it but afaik that fic didnt discuss the concept of abstraction from a technical sense yet#also that person knows more abt comp sci than i do HAHA im mostly just going off of my psych knowledge and also what ive seen in sci fi stu#and my limited comp sci knowledge from a few computer classes ive had here n there#but ya thats why i think abstraction is permanent. person just... turns into meaningless code#and once its done u cant put it back together#esp cus once the computer cant read ur data all the input it gives the person is fuuuucked#senses lose meaning and stuff#circus discussion

Apparently I'm doing something right because even with the market crashes, my investment portfolio has ONLY gained value since the beginning of the year, what the fuck man
#the answer is that I play stocks the same way I play politics and actually consider economic data OUTCOME rather than INPUT data#so instead of reading market trends or stock exchange reports or stockholder meeting minutes#I read about the ethnographic socio-cultural data and try to predict which investments are about to rise based on that#i am.....very good at this.

#shout out to me for being an insufferable loud mouth in my group therapy class for over controlled losers#which is funny bc 1) i used to b extremely extremely shy and afraid of speaking to ppl and 2) bc im probably a normal amount of talkative#now lol. but in this class. its a class setting but im not getting a grade and the material isnt beyond my compression and psychology is a#soft science so i can argue back on things and not b objectivly wrong. so im like fuck it im gonna b annoying bc there r no consequences#except ppl thinking im annoying and like why tf would i care. i only see these ppl in this specific setting#and they have no authority over me and also they're annoying too bc they have similar issues to me but different. and there r archetypes.#like some ppl get real caught up on the rules and terminology of the material and im like ugh ur missing the point. the details dont fucking#matter. just think abt how u can use the idea. or some ppl r like really judgy and think theyre right abt things and im like. ugh. u sound#so insufferable. shut the fuck up. or some ppl r just extremely quiet and blank faced and just giving u nothing u have to carry the whole#conversation to make up for their lack of input. and i dont mean that in a bad way. i think everyone has the right to b annoying. i still#like them. so im like. well fuck it. i can b annoying too. so my annoying things r that im very padantic about the examples that our#instructors give. like: that doesn't fit with what u just said. or this is why i disagree with the idea. or actually i already do this thing#were learning today. which like. if i was an instructor. at least id b glad me as a student was engaging seriously with the materials#and is hopefully clarifying aspects of things. im told im good at conceptualizing things into metaphor.#whatever. i dont care. i mean. i feel intolerable but like also im not gonna stop bc who gives a fuck#also everytime they talk abt evolution stuff or data from studies im very suspicious. like show me how the fuck they quantified the number#of expressions the human face can make. show me the fucking data bc u cant fucking tell me its not an infinite number if u consider every#varied muscle movement in every combination. and its apparently very obvious when im disagreeing bc i make a face#which one of the instructors tried to prement my comments today but i was critical from a different perspective than she thought lol#anyway. shout of to being insufferable. as fucking lyrics from jc superstar wrattle endlessly through the empty caverns of my mind#i fucking love that musical. its rocketed up to like number 3 position. i lov musicals so much#bc im cringe and i don't give a fuck#unrelated

Make a neocities, it is Very fun, I promise.
oh trust me ive looked into it :) im a spare time web dev/frontend engineer so it looked like a lot of fun but i dont like the IDE work sync method since it's a browser-based HTML editor, so i just got too lazy to actually code something and then merge all the files over 😭
i was thinking of trying it out though for a personal blog, but ive definitely spent too long on my 90s web styled portfolio website (professional for webdev and research stuff, not art haha) so im a little burnt out lmaooo
i do want to start a personal blog or even an interactive OC website using rlly cool jQuery functionality, etc. but ive just never gotten around to it :( if anything i'd probably opt for a github.io website since im comfortable with Git config and that kind of save workflow. thank you for the recommendation though! i will get around to it eventually 🤞
#i do really like the kind of “stick it to the man” mindset neocities has though so i do think id be more comfortable hosting a website there#especially if its a blog#not an ask#also no php/database functionality is fine ig for me since i dont really think id need like user data input but i still dont want to be +#locked bc i couldnt implement something id like to or hit the storage limit. although im not as familiar as i could be with the +#limits so i would have to look into it more

some of you are so lost in the ai panic that you've lost sight of reasoning in favor of destroying a perceived threat that you are the ones actively making the art scene worse for artists. the amount of artists ive seen harassed because a stranger "clocked" their works as ai even when theyve had the same style for years beforehand or at least a very traceable pattern of progression and the amount of artists ive seen deterred from creating something for fear of it being too close to an ai-like art concept that they end up harassed about it is unforgivable. you cannot be claiming you are anti ai art for its impact on artists & their job prospects and then turn around and destroy the very community you claim to care for. some of you are just excited to have an "acceptable" outlet to be mean and it shows
#for the record i have never touched chatgpt or any art generators or anything of the like#i have no need to use them and absolutely no desire to#i personally think if theres something you want to make or see then you should make it yourself#regardless of your current skill level#doing it bad is the first step in doing it well. its not once and done. u can revisit an idea as many times as it takes#and in doing so you share a part of yourself with the world#generation is merely a shortcut to a half baked end result#and if that satisfies you fine. so be it.#but it does not read as you caring about that concept if you're okay with that#and its true more input leads to better ai results#but it will never be anything truly new. because its built off existing data.#the machine cannot grow an idea in the same way a human can look at references and compile them into one result#perhaps the machine can give u a result that generally speaking looks good. but is that really all u want#i will not be engaging in any drama or discourse added to or based on this post thank u bye
