So uh quickly made a little fic based on @connectionterminated13 death swap AU with Charlie remembering her friends and Michael. I hope you enjoy it connection as I have really enjoyed talking to you. (I do also want to post this to Ao3 but I’ll wait until you give me permission as I am using your AU in this). Also I do apologise if I get stuff wrong from the au.

Say you’ll haunt me

Charlie couldn’t sleep. She had spent four hours now tossing and turning trying her hardest to get to sleep but she couldn’t. It was all to do with her mind at this point.

Her mind just wouldn’t let her forget about them and more importantly him.

‘Stop thinking about them or him.’ Charlie thought to herself. ‘Just stop for once in your life.’

Yet no matter how hard she tried to bully herself out of thinking about them Charlie couldn’t. How could she? Her friends were the reason she had so many good memories. They were the reason she was able to live after Sammy’s death. Yet like her twin brother her friends disappeared or as many people would say murdered.

Sighing Charlie sat up in her bed and began to let herself remember all of her friends again. Carlton was the most obvious one to remember. Son of the sheriff of the town Clay Bruke and was somehow the one in her friend group that ended up getting into trouble the most.

Charlie couldn’t help but chuckle to herself about all the many detentions that Carlton had and how his girlfriend Marla would go on and on about how unfair it was. Though Charlie stopped chuckling to herself at the thought of Marla.

Marla was a bubble of energy sometimes too much for Charlie to handle but out of anyone Marla would be there for anyone. It was that mama bear instinct that was inside of Marla that reminded Charlie of herself. God she missed Marla. She missed the many conversations that she, Marla and Jessica would have about Marla and Carlton’s relationship with Jessica often joking that Carlton was way more into boys than girls.

That was another thought that Charlie lived with. Especially seeing as though Carlton and John were very close. John was tied with Jessica for being Charlie oldest friend she made at school. She knew that John had a crush on her and did a terrible job at hiding it but looking back on it, if John had asked out Charlie she would have accepted it. Especially now that he was gone.

Finally there was Jessica. Charlie's closest friend. The one who took all of her secrets to the grave. Jessica was one of only two people that Charlie allowed herself to be open with after Sammy’s death. The other person was her oldest friend Michael Afton who eventually became her boyfriend.

As Charlie allowed herself to think of them again a memory flew into her head. One that made her smile yet tear up at. It was the day that she confessed to Jessica about her feelings towards Michael. She remembered Jessica squealing with joy after Charlie told her about their first kiss and immediately started pestering Charlie to ask the boy out on a date.

Charlie did what Jessica said but Jessica never got to see the results of it.

Then finally there was him. The love of her life Michael Afton.

She felt stupid thinking that. She was a stupid teenager dating another stupid teenager. They weren’t going to get married or anything. It would have eventually ended yet… she still hadn’t gotten over him.

No matter how hard she tried to move on or date other men Charlie couldn’t help but remember all of the things Michael did for her.

She missed his stupid laugh, the way he would softly grab her checks to pull her into a kiss, she missed the many many times he would make sure that she knew she was beautiful dispite not being a girly girl as she preferred being a tomboy.

She even missed his paintings. Sure at the time Charlie hated how god damn long he took but now she missed them. She missed everything about Michael.

As Charlie remembered everything she felt a few tears beginning to swell up in her eyes.

“No stop it.” She burst out saying to herself. “Don’t cry. You don’t deserve to cry. You’re strong and everyone knows that strong people don’t cry. Think about Elizabeth.”

She blinked as she remembered that she wasn’t living alone. Quickly and quietly Charlie got up from her bed and tip-toed over to Elizabeth’s room. Thankfully the door was already slightly open so all Charlie had to do was open it a bit more.

Doing that Charlie saw Elizabeth cuddling her girlfriend Susie tightly while seeming to be fast asleep. Charlie couldn’t help but smile at the sight. She remembered when she and Michael used to do the same thing. Back then she would snuggle so close to him just because he was so much warmer than she was.

God she missed those many sleepovers where Michael would run to her place just for some comfort after something happened between him and his father William.

Pulling herself out of that memory Charlie sighed and walked down the apartment hallway to the kitchen. She needed a glass of water. As she poured some tap water into a big glass she heard footsteps coming from behind her.

“What are you doing up this early?” Charlie heard the voice yawn out.

Turning around revealed that the voice belonged to Elizabeth.

“Just wanted to get a drink of water Liz.” Charlie said as she turned off the tap.

“Why’s that?”

“Couldn’t sleep.” Charlie answered.

Though Charlie didn’t say why she couldn’t get to sleep, Elizabeth's face immediately became bright red.

“That wasn’t because of me and Susie was it?”

Charlie smiled. “No it wasn’t. Though if I didn’t have insomnia then it would most definitely be because of you. So as for some advice from me please close the door next time. I don’t want to keep hearing you and Susie getting it on.”

“Noted.” Elizabeth spluttered out.

The room went quiet for a bit.

“So what was the reason for why you couldn’t get to sleep?” Elizabeth quietly asked.

At first Charlie didn’t respond, instead she chose to look up at the moon before speaking.

“It’s just one of those nights where your brother and my friends are just on my mind.” Charlie answered. “That’s all.”

“Oh.”

The room fell silent again before Charlie spoke up.

“Hey Liz.”

“Yeah.”

“Make sure you make every single second of your relationship with Susie count.” Charlie said.

“I will do Charlie.” Elizabeth replied. “I’ll go back to bed now. See you later in the morning.”

“See you later on in the morning.”

As Elizabeth’s footsteps began to quieten down Charlie turned her attention back to the moon. There was something about Elizabeth that reminded her so much about Michael. That’s why Charlie let her move in with her after Elizabeth ran away from home.

Looking up at the moon one final memory before everything in her life went to hell began to flutter in her mind. The memory was her and Michael’s first kiss.

The two were up on the roof of Charlie’s parents house and they were just joking around making dumb remarks until it stopped. The two were just staring at each other before Charlie leaned in and pressed her lips against his.

The feeling was amazing as the two just melted into each other with Michael kissing back just as passionately as her. When they pulled back from the kiss gasping for the words that would unknowingly would haunt her were spoken from Michael’s mouth.

“I love you Charlotte Emily.”

Okay so I had an intense fnaf movie theory

(⚠️SPOILERS FOR THE FNAF MOVIE⚠️)

So starting off, one of the major plot points of the film is that Vanessa is William's Afton's daughter, and that Mike and Abby don't seem to be related to them at all, right?

And there's a theory about the Golden Freddy Spirit BEING an Afton kid. Not just the blonde hair (the actor isn't a natural blonde, it was dyed for his role) but the way the kid seems to react to everything.

He remembers his death. That's a plot point for the other kids, that they don't remember their deaths and the drawings make them believe the Yellow Rabbit is a friend. But he does seem to remember, since he told Mike through a drawing that the Yellow Rabbit killed his brother.

It's uncertain why he doesn't tell the other kids, or why his main goal is getting Abby rather than getting revenge, but it seems he's playing William like a pawn rather than vice versa. It's only when William stabbed his sister Vanessa that he stepped in. And the way William reached out for him in the safe room like he was asking for help almost solidifies it.

Now back to my theory, I'm sure plenty of you have heard the theory that the Schmidts are actually Henry's children, not William's. It would explain why William drove 9 whole hours to kidnap some random kid in Nebraska if the kid wasn't actually random. Maybe a revenge scheme over some company fault.

So my thought is, the family dynamics with the Aftons and Emily's are switched in the games vs the movie.

C.C Afton (supposedly middle brother)

Elizabeth Afton (supposedly youngest sister)

Charlie Emily (murdered twin)

Sammy Emily (supposedly survived twin)

Mike Schmidt (eldest brother)

Golden Freddy Spirit (murdered twin)

Vanessa Shelly-Afton (survived twin)

I say twins because young Vanessa looks about the same age as GFS (although we don't know what year the photo was taken).

It feels like swapped dynamics to me. Garrett is a Charlie Emily parallel in their identical deaths, which could make both Mike and Abby Sammy Emily parallels as the surviving siblings. And the way Vanessa parallels Micheal A. (especially in her guilt and need to make up the kid's childhoods), would make GFS both C.C and Elizabeth. Honestly if GFS did have some sort of loyalty/passiveness to William murdering him like I mentioned, it definitely confirms an Elizabeth parallel.

I don't even need to mention how William makes Vanessa help him with his crimes (just like Micheal in the games) or how he plays with her guilt by blaming the mess on her (which suggests he would've blamed her brother's death on her, just like how Micheal feels guilty for C.C's death).

Sammy would probably also feel guilty for Charlie's murder, as that's how Charlie felt in the books when she thought it was Sammy who got taken. That was a situation that wasn't in the surviving sibling's control, just like how Mike couldn't stop Garrett's kidnapping. But GFS's murder could've been a preventable accident that Vanessa felt at blame for, just like Micheal for C.C (and probably Elizabeth).

so. thought about a sort of killer swap au in the Rewrite.

so...have some vague thoughts about it:

i feel like the things that would make Henry snap would be rather different than William. William was already practically one horrible circumstance away from Committing A Crime (as you can tell. considering that's what happened. Many Crimes, In Fact). Henry...wasn't. a lot would've had to happen for Henry to have been pushed to that point. or....specifically, a lot bad things happening to his family in a short period of time.

Elizabeth didn't die...at least, not at the time she did canonically in the Rewrite (we'll get there :))...but Charlie still did. her death, however, was not caused by William. it was an accident. a horrible, horrible accident. Charlie had tried wandering through the alleyway to find a way back inside...when she got hit by a drunk driver (this is based off of some headcanons i've seen where people say that William might've killed Charlie by hitting her/running her over with his car while drunk). William had nothing to do with her death...but that doesn't mean that her death didn't devastate Henry.

...and maybe he heard about the girl and her little crew that locked his daughter outside that rainy night, the night she died...but he manages to keep that anger down. for now.

now...look. i haven't mentioned how the Best Timeline happened. had Elizabeth not died that day, i like to think that maybe William kinda...sorted himself out, if that makes sense. tried to fix himself, tried to make up for what he put them through (emotional abuse + manipulation), even if it'd take him years to fix the damage he caused to them...he'd do it. No Matter How Long, Or What, It'd Take.

and that's what happened. Mike and Evan were...cautiously optimistic. they were old enough to recognize their dad as he used to be, and...they're willing to hope. Liz and Cass have never met this version of their father before; Liz had just been a toddler, hardly having memories of her own mother, and Cassidy was born into this. it's...odd for them...but hey, now William's actually considering letting Cassidy going to school! it seems like everything is looking up for the Aftons...

but not for Alex.

he thinks it's all a trick, some other manipulative bullshit from his father. he refuses to believe it, because it just can't be true. and so he lashes out, but one thing he did in particular was, unknowingly, the final nail in the coffin.

one day at Fredbear's, Alex and a friend of his, Jamie (Bonnie Bully), pressured Sammy to stick his arm inside the O'Hare suit, just to prove he "wasn't a chicken." Sammy did it, because he always feels the need to prove a point (and mayhaps he became reckless after Charlie died, a way of "punishing" himself for not being there for her...maybe this was yet another bit of that reckless behavior). the jaws of the suit snap shut and some springlocks set off...and then Sammy's forearm gets mangled badly enough that it needs to get amputated.

it doesn't matter that it was a genuine accident, that Sammy more so blames himself for being a dumbass, and that Alex seems genuinely guilty.

Henry sees red.

he decides that he'll be Judge, Jury, and Executioner.

so...his list of victims in order (at least his Original murders):

Brittany Marks, 13: Charlie's main bully and the main kid responsible for locking her out on the day she died. Henry took her to the back under the guise of wanting to talk to her (he dressed as Fredbear purely to make sure no one on the cameras recognized him), and despite Brittany's genuine apology (she didn't know Charlie was gonna get killed), he killed her anyway. she got stuffed into Freddy (reference to the Cake Minigame, the one that shows the other perspective of Charlie's murder).

Alexander Afton, 14: William's eldest son. Henry also lured him back by claiming that he just wanted to talk. Alex got stuffed into Foxy.

James "Jamie" Spencer, 14: one of Alex's friends. also kinda (one of) Alex's boyfriend(s), but that's unimportant atm. just kinda got lured back and then murdered him. Jamie got stuffed into Bonnie.

Kimberly "Nyx" Harris, 12: Brittany's cousin, and was technically an accomplice in locking Charlie out...mostly by being pressured into putting the box on top of Marionn's box. she technically wanted nothing to do with it. also got lured and then killed. Nyx got stuffed into Chica.

Andrew Schmidt, 12: our good old buddy Andy. one of Mike's closest friends. Henry had nothing against him, but...Andy kinda witnessed Nyx's murder. Henry made it seem like he was just gonna threaten them with staying silent the next day (June 26th)...and then springlocked him in O'Hare. guess who he possesses.

Elizabeth Afton, 9: got bitten by O'Hare in the frontal lobe on Cassidy's seventh birthday, but survived the injury. but like her brother in the canon timeline, she learns about The Murders. due to Reasons i'll discuss later, Liz and Cass were living with Henry at the time, and upon Henry figuring out that Liz somehow knew, he may have uh...pushed her down the stairs. he claimed later that she had lost her balance and simply fell.

...Cassidy saw, though.

before you ask, yes, Charlie DOES have very complicated feelings on her father in this au. more so than her canonical self does for William in the actual canon Rewrite.

fuck it it's 4 in the morning fnaf swap AU for the soul because I've lost control of my life;

Henry Emily was once a normal inventor making children's animatronics with his Business partner William Afton as they created Puppet's Pizza Diner, however one day tragedy struck, when his daughter Charlotte bot a bit too close to the "Big Clown Lady" and got her ass BIT, this left her in a coma and on death's door with her father promising one thing "I will put you back together".

William tried comforting Henry as his friend was hurting but Henry snapped "You don't know what it's like, to lose your daughter, to have one of the metal nightmares we create to be around children kill one of your own, you just don't get it!" He cried, however there was a thought in the back of his head, finishing that sentence for him. but you will...

a few days later Henry presents his greatest creation, a security animatronic to "protect and save children" a Golden Bear.

they installed the new Puppet Patented Security Beacon Bear, except there's one small thing Henry forgot to mention to everyone, this animatronic wasn't built to protect children, it was built to lure and kidnap children, which Henry took to the back room, killing them in a white masked, smiling Puppet suit, and stuffing their bodies full of electronics to try and revive them, it would never work, he did this 5 times, they never worked, they would rot and decay, stinking up the place, so Henry Repurposed them into a new band, of white & Pink Metallic Robots, Foxy, Freddy, Bon-bon, and Chica. they were gonna have such a fun time!

Okay so if that little blurb didn't make it clear here's the rundown:

Henry is swapped with William, using a springlock Puppet suit to lure and kill kids, we'll call him Marionetrap for consistency

Charlotte is swapped with Elizabeth and/or CC, and now possesses Springlock Baby

The Original Band and the MCI are replaced with the Funtimes

CC will eventually be killed and become The Beacon Bear (basically the Puppet in this AU)

to go way far into the future Vannessa and Gregory switch around, so instead of Child Gregory, Vanny and Vannessa you have smol Vannessa, Dr. Rabbit and Gregory (if you get this I am kissing you on the mouth)

she is 14 when she dies, and so that is why baby is so cryptic when michael finds her in sister location. i found it a bit goofy how a supposed little girl was so… strange? and purposefully unsettling? so i aged her up a bit so that her somewhat dark dialogue made a bit more sense. [idk if this is what you hoped for, but it’s just a facet of her death in athazagora]

stephanie reingard was william’s loving wife, but abandoned the family to escape william’s vigorous abuse following sammy’s death. she regrets leaving her children behind, but she was pretty sure that william was close to murdering her if she didn’t get out of there.

carrie divorced henry after charlie’s death because she realized that she wasn’t in a proper environment for healing. she kept up with henry after their divorce, but took a lot of time for herself to recuperate after what happened.

It was Midnight before Charlie finally got up from her bed and grabbed the basement door key that was alone in her top drawer. Though before she went down to the basement Charlie quietly checked around the house for something or more accurately someone.

Since moving from her old apartment and into this new bigger house Charlie had begun double checking every inch of the property. She didn’t use to be like this but recently there was something that Charlie needed to protect and she knew there was someone that threatened what she held so dearly to her.

Sighing as she did Charlie quickly checked all the security cameras that surrounded the house with there thankfully being no signs of anyone being on her property. After that Charlie quietly walked around the house and went to one of the other bedrooms where her roommates rested.

Opening the door Charlie saw that her roommates Elizabeth and her girlfriend Susie were happily sleeping with Susie’s dog Sunday on the bed as well. Charlie couldn’t help but smile slightly before closing the door.

After another check with the security cameras Charlie went to the basement door and unlocked the door. The moment when she opened the door Charlie could immediately hear the sound of wires scurrying around in the basement.

“Michael, it’s me.” Charlie gently called out. “You don’t have to be worried.”

The shuffling stopped before a robotic voice croaked out in response.

“Charlie?” The voice asked, its tone filled with caution.

“Yes Michael it’s me.” Charlie repeated as she turned on one of the basement lights so she had some bit of light. “You don’t have to worry about anything.”

As she walked down the stairs she tried to examine the basement to try and find where Michael was but there was no sight of him. The basement was basically a bedroom as there was a bed, a closet and some drawers. There was a reason for this. That reason being that the basement belonged to the one thing that Charlie swore to protect to her dying breath.

Her old friend Michael Afton.

‘Oh Michael.’ Charlie thought to herself. She knew that Michael was hiding from her. Probably worried that it wasn’t actually her and instead an imposter. She couldn’t blame him especially with the horrors that he had to deal with for several years.

Looking around the room Charlie noticed that the closet was slightly open.

“Mikey you don’t have to hide from me.” Charlie gently said.

“If you’re Charlie then tell me what was the first movie we went to when we first started dating?” Michael asked.

“A Nightmare on Elm Street 2 Freddy’s Revenge.” Charlie replied with a small smile forming on her face as the memories of their small date began to surface. “I remember we both ranted about how the film completely messed up how Freddy works.”

She chuckled at the memory. “I even remember that I apologized to you for apparently wasting your time with that film and you just kissed me to shut me up saying that you did enjoy the film but it wasn’t as good as the first one.”

Before she realized it Charlie felt a few tears forming on her face. Quickly she whipped them away just as Michael crawled out from under the bed. His metal

“You still remember that?” Michael asked, sitting back on the bed.

Charlie just smiled at the robot. “I can’t forget that experience. Not after you ‘accidentally’ spilled some of your soda onto Nicole’s hair after she made rude remarks about me.”

Through his robot mask Charlie could see a small tiny smile quickly form on his face before it just as quickly disappeared.

“She deserved it.” Michael mumbled.

“Yeah she did.” Charlie replied.

There was an awkward silence before Charlie eventually moved towards the bed and sat down next to Michael. The pair sat in silence again but Michael broke the silence.

“Charlie, why are you here?” He asked.

Charlie turned her head to look at Michael. “Because I want to talk to you about something.”

“What’s that?”

“How would you feel if I built you a robotic human body?” Charlie asked, her hand slowly moved over to Michael’s knees. “How does that sound?”

There was a pause. Michael was obviously debating it in his mind but it wasn’t long before Michael answered the question.

“No.”

Charlie had to do a double take at that answer. “What do you mean no?”

“Don’t bother with it.” Michael replied. “I don’t deserve it.”

“What do you mean you don’t deserve it?” Charlie asked again.

“Because I’m a monster.” Michael continued. “I’ve killed so many people. So many innocent kids I’ve just slaughtered…”

“But that wasn’t your doing.” Charlie interrupted. “That was Baby’s programming and you had no control over it.”

“But I still did it!” Michael shouted standing up from the bed making Charlie flinch at his outburst. “I still killed them. I still brought them to a fucking torture chamber and sent them insane! I even killed my own sister and turned her into a zombie.”

Michael fell down to his knees collapsing under the weight of what he had done. “I don’t deserve to get this chance at disguising myself as a human when I’ve done so many horrible things.”

If Michael could cry Charlie knew he would be in tears at the moment. Not that she would blame him. He had witnessed so many horrors and against his own will took part in them.

It was hard for Charlie to see him like this. When he was alive Michael was the most confident person she knew. Nothing would or could bring him down. It was part of the reason for why she loved him so much. If she was down or too busy wallowing in her survivors guilt about Sammy or her friends Michael would always pick her up.

So seeing him on his knees cursing himself for stuff that was out of his control hurt Charlie in more ways than she could describe.

“Michael.” Charlie softly said as she slid down to her knees to become level with Michael. “You aren’t a monster.”

“Why do you keep saying that?” Michael asked. “Why do you even care? You probably have a boyfriend and that’s more important than me.”

Charlie couldn’t help herself but chuckle at the comment. “Do you really think that I could get a boyfriend and abandon you?”

“Yeah.” Michael replied, sounding like a hurt child.

“You really overestimate me that much.” Charlie joked.

“What do you mean?”

“Michael, even if I had a boyfriend I would still try and help you.” Charlie continued.

“But look at me.” Michael replied pulling down the hood that covered his face showing all the wiring and the mask. “Why waste your time on me.”

“Because I made a promise to you.” Charlie said, her tone was still soft but it was very serious all the same. “I made a promise that no matter what I would look after you and Elizabeth. I failed you once and I’m not going to fail you again.”

“But-“

“No buts Michael. I will help you no matter what and that’s a promise.”

There was another pause where the two just stared at each before Michael tackled Charlie into a hug and embraced her.

“Do you understand now?” Charlie whispered as she hugged him back.

“Slightly.” Michael replied back, making Charlie smile.

“That’s a start.” Charlie said, pulling away from the hug and gave Michael a little kiss on the top of his mask. “Do you want to rest now?”

“As in… sharing the same bed together?” Michael asked.

“Don’t make it weird you doofus.” Charlie laughed as she took off her jacket. “We can just cuddle together and maybe we can fall asleep together like old times.”

“Yeah cuddles sound good.” Michael softly replied.

The two both went under the covers of the bed with Charlie snuggling up to Michael who didn’t know what to do.

The pair just laid there in silence embracing each other like they had before back when they were teenagers. It wasn’t long after that Charlie closed her eyes and fell asleep having the greatest nights rest that she had experienced in many many years.

First of all.I want to say so sorry Elizabeth it must be hard seeing that the people that you love died by one by the hands of your father.But you need to know that you aren't and won't be a monster (despite the many wierd aus' of role swap or serial killer aus's thingy out there in tumblr)but then again you suffer too and you deserve to know that you don't need that bastard approval you can try and become better be better by loving yourself and understand that the only person that will love the most would be yourself and the people that love you.Mike doesn't blame in fact its the opposite he blames himself for not being good enough of a brother to you or cc.Always try to show a little affection to the guy and remiender him that you also love im bc you do.Despite your troublesome past before your death he was and always be there for you might to be perfect or want you nated or expected but the important thing is that he was and still be there for you despite it all.Because depite everything its still you Elizabeth whatever your middle name Afton.
