Which artists had the most influences on your art/painting style? I really love your work and I wanna know where all those came from haha

Thankya! Honestly there are so many, i usually brainrot over a specific artist for a while and then i find another whose style i find just as intriguing....

But to name a few, when i first started drawing humans i was really inspired by wachtelspinat whose tf2 and midnight crew art i absolutely adore (i read homestuck because of their midnight crew fanart and i was solely disappointed that little chess guys arent actually that important, mayor my man)

I also love shiyoon kim, especially their more sketchy works, you may recognise them because they drew spiderverse concept arts and much more i even have his brush set! You can buy it for 10$

I also had a big phase for sergey kolesov's artworks that comes back to me every now and then, he used to be a concept artist for dishonored 2 and deathloop and the way he renders things in his paintings and his colors are just so,,,

Lately ive been frustrated with my colors so im doing some studies of nathan fowkes's art, his colorkeys are so simple and the values are great and he seems to never use black yet it works

I could go on and on, overall i find old children books inspiring as well, but more like the ones made in the eastern block,,,, same goes for the polish school of poster! heres a poster for alien and big lebowski

i also get inspired by my friends, you know that kind of osmosis where youre buddies with someone and your styles merge together to the point where people cant tell your art apart?? SORRY NONS YOU SAID QUICK SO IM NOT LINING THESE.

LETS START WITH THE EASIEST OPTION:

NEIL. His first death is actually what traps him in the deathloop. his ship is knocked out of orbit by none other than super, stupid and blue himself. he's dropped into the middle of hell, and his ship crushes him/explodes around him. and he wakes up the next day, completely fine, with his ship only damaged enough that he cant start it again no matter what he does with his genius brain to fix it. on a completely foreign planet, full of people who are absolutely nothing like him. the only person who even knows WHAT HE IS is the same person who stranded him there. and hes stuck forever.

tldr: splendid knocks his ship out of the sky and he, obviously, dies.

bully has been in the death loop for a little longer. its been.. geeze, since a few years after he left highschool? how long ago even was that? haha, like it matters, ALLL that shit is behind him. ESPECIALLY his old reputation. the first time he died, though? pssh. who cares, it was probably like... idk, bleeding out or some shit. come to think of it.. yeah. thats exactly what it was. he was foolin around and got his arm clipped off. he proceeded to run around like an idiot and pump all his blood out of his system.

tldr: bled out after getting his arm ripped off by a truck.

Kyle's been here the longest of the three. god knows how long its been. who knows what the first one was. genuinely, hes been through so many insane deaths, there is ZERO way to tell. the "curse" seems to have it out for him personally. like FULLY hates him. he's so good at stopping easily avoidable tragedies, and that forces it to come up with increasingly batshit ways to commit carnage. he has witnessed the ENVIRONMENT throwing a tantrum because he just.. moved someone out of the way. got rid of a wooden plank, stopped someone from getting into a car in which the breaks have OBVIOUSLY been cut. luckily, he has a few things it can use against him. like the fact that everyone thinks he's their dumb, kind of mean friend who doesnt know what hes talking about, and how he is willing to throw himself in front of random strangers to take extremely painful deaths like a champ to save them.

tldr: who knows man this motherfucker's been thru the wringer because the curse hates his fucking guts so much. thats what he gets for having the same name as that reptilian rat bastard.

I wasn't sure if I should do this chronologically, or in order of how much I've simped for these people, so let's just get to it:

P.S.: you'll get kudos (and maybe candy) if you pick up on the common themes here.

1. Zuko - ATLA

He was my first fictional crush.

I would write self insert fic about him (which never saw the light of AO3 thankfully), and I would rewatch all of ATLA just to his character go from "I can fix him" brat to adorkable edgy brat.

2. Bill Cipher - Gravity Falls

He had what I at the time called the "sexy British accent". I never even joined the school of thought "he'd burn the whole world down but me". I was chill with burning.

3. Bucky Barnes - MCU

And the bad boy parade continues. I firmly believed that I could fix him, and going back to the (once again thankfully unpublished) self insert slash fics of the time, I realise that I had no idea what in him needed fixing.

4. John Hancock - Fallout 4

Nothing makes me fall harder for a sad meow meow than him going "I'm gonna stop bugging you with my problems, I know I'm too fucked up to love".

I have a save file right before that convo, and I like to revisit it every so often.

5. Egor Serling - Deathloop

While on the topic of sad meow meows, let me introduce you to mister "I've been invisible my whole life 🥺". He's pathetic and slightly unhinged, what is there not to love? ( y/n in my fic about him agrees).

6. David Sarif - Deus Ex

It's hard to pick only one character from the DX games, but I think "Daddy Sarif", as I affectionately call him whenever he's brought up in conversation, belongs here.

He is rich, smart, and believes the illuminati want to tear down his company (and has 0 evidence to back that up).

7. Crosshair - Clone Wars: the Bad Batch

A sad meow meow, a bad boy, and white hair? Can a man be more perfect? Well he's also a sniper ...

He's like Egor, but he'll talk back when you tell him to get on his knees, you know?

8. Billie Lurk - Dishonored

You know the jist by this point, sad, with questionable morals, daddy issues, and missing an arm.

My favourite thing about her is how she goes "this is a robbery" with an audible smirk, as she robs a bank. And also that she kept the creepy art project her girlfriend gave her a decade ago. How sweet is that?

I need to write a self-insert x her fic. But I don't have any Dishonored OCs :/

9. Alyx Vance - Half Life

She was my first girl crush. And I still remember the exact moment I went "damn that chick is cool". It was shortly after reuniting with Barney, when I had to shoot my way through some stupid combine stronghold, and Alyx just crawled through the vents and waited for me on the other side.

(She is the reason I have £500 saved to one day buy a VR set)

10. Bo-Katan Kryze - the Mandalorian (no this isn't cheating, it's a different sub-fandom XP)

Is she just a mommy version of Alyx? Maybe. But the Mandalorian (the TV series), sure helped with the popularity of her character... (I'm talking about that one ass scene).

She also has that sad kitty side to her, when she sits alone in her massive space castle after all her friends have left her.

🎮- EA enjoys taking care of their leeches, studying and observing their creatures, cyberbullying people. But you already knew this so it's time for the guy I never talk about to finally get talked about. NREs favorite hobbies are watching movies and tv shows made by the ancients, talking to the scavengers and ignoring descent whenever he messages

📚- all iterator have a PhD on everything. I don't think they have any form of formal education for Iterators, considering you can just put that information directly into their memories

🎻- I don't think any of them play an instrument

ADHESIVE BANDAGE (I couldn't find the emoji)- EA has mild chronic pain from detaching his puppet from the arm so violently. And definitely some neurodiveregencies but I'm no expert in that so I'm not gonna give them a specific one

💯- hmmm.. 1.)EAs eyes are naturally white and are only yellow because the activated deathloop is on them 2.) The reason they can modify themselves is because the later added taboo of not making new blueprints caused a conflict in the code and disabled it (I don't know how coding works at all but if mods can do this then so can the limiters) 3.) They also absorb oxygen with the fabricator arms in addition to eating and making things

💤-EA is a pretty light sleeper most of the time, unless they have someone they trust there. They mostly only sleep to wait out cycles, which is a bit of a problem because they don't actually go below the clouds that often and often cant sleep anyway so they stare into space listening to music instead

🔱- Xbox like water(yes)

🔶- EA doesn't know cpr but could still stop you from choking (by sticking their mycelia down your throat). They can fix wounds that would just require some extra tissue or metal easily enough but if it's a damaged organ or something complex to fix they would either need "blueprints" (need better word..) of you or to eat you first (and make the mycelia make blueprints of you that way) (obviously the second option is not desirable)

🚫- EA doesn't drink or smoke but they did inject themselves with karma flower juice once and would do it again if left with nothing else to do for a long time

🌲- they dont really do holidays, as they were all invented by the ancients

🐶- EA has the leeches. Some iterators would consider NREs scav friends pets but they very much arent

🐉- EAs favorite mythical creature is the fog demon. NRE likes unicorns

🌴- EA forgets plants are alive, so no. They would end up killing them even if they tried

❤️- let's see.. EA is very determined when she has a goal, would do almost anything for those they care about and

🤍- has a lot of curiosity especially about creatures, rather willing to take risks(to their puppet) (this can be good or bad I think so neutral), a bit hesitant sometimes I guess

💔- way too eager to resort to murder, likes to cyberbully, even if they don't want to kill you they will still stand back and let you die, even if they could have stopped it (if they don't care about you)

💘- their ecosystem and dew

💚- outside, they spend most of their time outside in their city taking care of the leeches

🖤- EA killed glories (as most of you know) they haven't broken anyone's heart or trust.. yet. NREs fight with descent over what to do to help skywriter is part of what caused descent to work constantly

😊 - honestly neither EA or me really know this one. They want to spend time with dew, get multicolored leeches, continue to observe evolution..

🤔- EA taps on their carapace a lot, uses ellipsis often.. rather rude a lot of the time.. what exactly is this one asking? (Needs clarification)
