Height chart/further designs of the crew (PCs + some NPCs) of our pathfinder campaign in the Eclipse! I wanted to get an actual answer from the other players as to the heights of everyone because I defaulted to drawing Juno short like a disney anthro when actually they're huge.
Kjosev and Tereza look short. They aren't. Kjosev is 5'11"/1.8m, and Tereza is 5'8"/1.73m. Everyone else is just fuckin' huge.
Anyway ramblings about these people below the cut because they've been developed a bit more.
(Note: I'll refer to "the eclipse" a lot here. The Eclipse is a catastrophe in our homebrew world that lasted for roughly a year, where the sun and moon just vanished from the sky entirely. It was effectively an apocalypse, as crops and animals all died off, the world froze over, and societies broke down. This group is trying to live through that).
Characters from left to right, bottom to top:
Calim (Male Elunin Sorcerer, 6'2"/1.88m) - An elunin born blind, Calim was never treated like an adult among his clan due to his disability. He wasn't treated cruelly, but nobody expected anything of him. He left to try to find somewhere he could be treated as an equal, wandering the world before he got caught up in the eclipse.
Tereza (Female Human Commoner/Historian, 5'8"/1.73m) - A 36 year old bog-standard human from the northern kingdom. She worked in a great library as its director, in a happy, well-off life with her husband Florian and her daughter Florette. She was picking up special glasses for her daughter when the eclipse hit, in an entirely separate country from her own. Kjosev took a liking to her and the group has effectively adopted her, trying to take her back to her city to reunite her with her husband.
Florette (Female Human Child/Magical Princess, 3'5"/1.04m) - Tereza's rambunctious 5 year old, who loves trains and boats and thinks magic is boring. She was with her mom in the south when the eclipse hit. She was going to start school next year. She likes Kjosev, carrying around a talisman he gave her that she calls 'Kjosev Jr.'
Kjosev (Male Dusk Elf Druid, 5'11"/1.8m) - Former oracle of his kingdom, political prisoner/torture victim and then forest guardian, Kjosev's... been through some stuff. Outside of that one nasty multi-year incident in which he was imprisoned/tortured in the north (the same city Tereza is from, ironically), he's never left his woods, his life spent mostly isolated. He left to try to warn people about a premonition he had involving 'a great darkness.' He failed. His goal now is to protect Tereza and her daughter, and get them safely to their home -- even if the city left him traumatized.
Vartok (Male Gnoll Monk, 7'/2.13m) - An exiled gnoll, Vartok befriended a gnome at some point in his life. When he lost his arm, the gnome crafted him a new one, giving him a prosthetic. Vartok tries to help his former clan, even if they've rejected him outright, but still seeks a new one... which is how the party came onto him. He's effectively adopted them as his new clan. Florette is terrified of him.
Genrik (Male Dusk Elf Witch, 6'3"/1.91m) - A former teacher at the academy before the dusk elves were effectively destroyed, Genrik is what can best be described as... well, a dusk elf supremacist. He loathes humans and believes one day his people's kingdom will rise again. It won't. It doesn't stop him from repeating it, though. As he's an older dusk elf he suffers a madness that his people are often plagued by, his taking the form of losing all of his memories. He creates potions to store what he can before he forgets everything close to him, including the birth of his own daughter.
(Genrik's player has written down all of his stored memories, and if he ever falls or suffers from a bad critical, he wants there to be a roll to see what memory gets lost permanently as the potion shatters).
Juno (Genderless Elunin Warrior/Knight, 6'4"/1.93m) - Elunin are granted the option to choose their gender in a sort of coming-of-age ceremony, and Juno simply... never chose theirs. Not much else is known about them. They've lived for quite some time in civilized society -- an oddity for creatures that live primarily in the feywild -- working as a member of the Night Watch. They're effectively a rabbit batman cop. They got tied up in the party when the group may or may not have been responsible for setting a slaver's compound on fire.
Imrae (Female Drow Thaumaturge, 5'4"/1.63m) - She hasn't been introduced yet, so there's not AS much information to her, but my DM requested her be drawn anyway. All we know is that she's a drow lady who likes mysteries and is based off of Piper from FO4. I also insisted she get a big hat. Because big hat.

just want to piggyback off of @brekkie-e’s post about halsin and how he could parallel real world body image issues, and how honestly amazing that would be for video games.
if you think about companion quests for other rpgs, like pillars of eternity or dragon age, they usually have to do with these larger-than-life, fantasy problems that don’t reflect real world problems terribly well (or in the case of dragon age, when they try to reflect those problems, they end up creating more inconsistencies and can often downplay the severity of these problems). think of arueshalae in pathfinder: wrath of the righteous- her arc is incredibly well-done, but isn’t the easiest to relate to as a player, because of the scale of her moral dilemma and what it could mean on a literal cosmic level. we everyday humans don’t have to face issues like ascending from being literal demons and redeeming ourselves for murder. but larian, through halsin, has the chance to do something incredible and smaller-scale. they have the chance to write an arc that is relatable, while still strong in terms of emotional buildup, and grounds the larger-than-life story in a very human place.
let’s talk about halsin and body image.
the first thing to note about halsin is that he does not exist in a vacuum. his in-game appearance is reflective of our current western male body standards, even if in-game he doesn’t reflect the standard of his own culture. that is to say that, as an elf in the forgotten realms setting, his sheer beefiness wouldn’t be looked on fondly by other elves. but to us, as players, his body is something we admire. immediately there is a disconnect between what he (and other in-universe characters) may think about his appearance and what we, as real-world humans, may think about his character design. that’s the setup for an incredibly powerful story, methinks.
the second thing to note about halsin is that he already exists on the outside of his in-game society. iirc he’s a wood elf (which stat-wise are great choices for druids), but he does not exist within wood-elven society (as the grove itself is shown to be multiracial). i think it’s also quite telling that the form he chooses for his wildshape is that of a bear, and typically in shapeshifter media the form one takes is symbolic for some aspect of the shapeshifting character (for example, morrigan in dragon age taking on the form of a spider in the official da:o trailer, which could be reflective of her venomous wit or the fact that, like many spiders, she is initially seen as unlikable or even unlovable). halsin, choosing a bear form, could simply be a matter of optimisation- or, what i hope is the case (considering how much emphasis larian has put on the narrative and character agency), could be a matter of story and gameplay integration. in short, halsin might take on the form of a bear in order to hide his potential insecurity (as in, he takes the form associated with his default physical being in order to assert that he is not, in fact, insecure of his “bear-like” features), or it could be as straightforward as he finds comfort in a form similar to his born, elven one- while he may have been mocked for his appearance by society, he has turned it into a weapon, something useful, something strong.
or, y’know, it could just not be that deep.
(i truly, truly hope it is that deep.)

WotR Height Headcanons
So, this is more for myself when writing the Melodramatic Idiots that are the companions of Wrath of the Righteous.
Heights, I need to figure out heights for fic writing so here we go. I'm using visuals and Pathfinder 1 Height Charts
Arueshalae: 5'9
Succubi/Incubi height varies dependent on who they wish to seduce. Default height is usually based on a given race's ideal. Arueshalae takes the appearance of a human far more than other heritages in Golarian. As such, she's the ideal height for a woman.
Camellia Gwerm: 5'10
Half elves are on average taller than most humans, though Camellia has more human in her heritage line than most half elves. As such, she's only a little taller than Arue.
Daeran Arendae: 6'4
In theory, aasimars are also taller than most humans and Daeran's heritage is likely of mixed aasimar, elvish, and human. Between him being stupidly tall with his model, I decided he's 6'4. He's an inch taller in his boots, if only too annoy Lann.
Ember: 6'3
Though a teenager, Ember is still an elf, and elves are ridiculously tall in Pathfinder. Ember towers over everyone when standing straight up, though she has a tendency to slouch when not speaking from the pulpit. She's often not aware of how tall she really is, often ducking behind others on the rare occasion she's fearful in theory.
Greybor: 4'5
Our first short king got the luck of the dice and is tall as you can get for a dwarf. Greybor takes full advantage of his height and adds extra muscle to his form.
Lann: 6'3
Mongrels don't have a place on the chart! Due to his mother being half elf just like Camellia's is, I used the half elf measurements. While he's only an inch shorter than Daeran, and Daeran doesn't let him ever forget.
Nenio: 5'2
While Nenio in her human guise appears to be short for a human female, she's really quite average in her kitsune form. This fact delights her to no end because she aligns perfectly in her recorded data.
Regill Derenge: 3'4
Our actual short king is also perfectly average height for a gnome. While he was taunted about it when he joined the Hellknights, he has never paid it any mind, notably when he was able to fell most in training and duels.
Seelah: 5'7
While still tall for a female human, Seelah is closer to the average of the spectrum. Much of this comes from not having the right nutrition while growing up. She would very likely be taller than Cameilla if she hadn't been an urchin.
Sosiel Vaenic 6'0
Tall enough to be dashing, and never intimating, Sosiel is comfortably abovage average height. He's never gotten into the debate between Daeran and Lann, neatly avoiding the issue with a gentle smile, telling them both his big brother is taller than both of them and thus used to it.
Wenduag: 5'1
Wenduag's feline like legs, lack of nutrition, and slight hunch makes her a little shorter than Nenio. However, Wenduag was among the tallest of the women in Neatherhome. The sudden change of height in the world around her is quite alien, makes her feel smaller and uglier, but she'll never admit to it.
Woljif Jefto: 5'8
Slight and slim, Woljif is likely the shortest of the medium sized male companions. However, Woljif never seems to never let it get to him. After all, more of him means he's got more to hide, and that won't due at all!
Trevor: 6'6
Prior to the Abyys, Trevor Vaenic was closer to six and a half feet. Due to injuries as his time as a slave, he has a harder time standing up straight and appears closer to 6'4.

(Put a book emoji into my inbox and I'll explain the plot of a fanfiction that I haven't written but daydream about.)
Mass Effect Andromeda it is for you!
I've already mentioned somewhere that I think the game is, structurally, the first part of a trilogy. It sets up the scene, builds and resolves one plot arc while making clear that there's a lot of unexplained and unresolved stuff in the background. Book 2 would deepen the world and its problems, would give more info without resolving much of the central plot, and book 3 would be the final installment, the resolution of which creates a new world in which the Andromeda / Heleus and Milky Way species can live together in peace.
I have a basic idea how all of the Andromeda / Heleus plot arcs are connected to each other, and I have a clear idea on how to resolve it. I kind of don't want to spoil it because I would want to try to build the story up to the revelation, and I haven't seen the theory anywhere yet. But let's just say that part of the story would be from the POV of a Kett character.
I'm not so sure how I want to resolve the story arcs the Milky Way species brought with them, let alone how those two thematic complexes would interact.
I want to see more of Ryder and his crew (I have a male Pathfinder Ryder and would write the story with him in mind: earnest, logical, professional), and I love travel stories. So I'd send them traveling across the cluster, doing Pathfinder stuff and stumbling on dangers and secrets and being a found family together. I'm far from done with these characters.
Another part of the story would be written from Sara Ryder's POV, the sibling left behind. I want to give her a team too, but I'm not sure yet how to do that. I'm not sure if I want to create a team full of OCs - it could work, but I'm not sure it would. I know vaguely where I want her story to go, and it has to do with the secrets of Meridian, but I don't know yet how exactly and what she would need to do. I loved the announcement on the party at the end of MEA that the Quarian Arc had arrived, I want to see more of the species on board, so I'll probably try to find a way to give Sara at least a Quarian and an Elcor team member. I love Quarians and Elcor.
I think I want Scott (my Ryder has a different name, but for the story I'd use the default name, if not character design) to mostly deal with the Milky Way problems, fight with Kett and liaise with Angara, as that's his specialty by the end of the game. Now it's Sara's turn to be an explorer and find out the secrets of Andromeda.
I can't tell you anything specific because that's a story I think about a lot, but haven't written a single word for yet.

Using Free AI to Make Character Art for TTRPGs
I love having art for my characters in Pathfinder, D&D, and other TTRPGs. But I don't love the cost, time, and effort in finding and commissioning and artist to draw them for me.
When AI art blew up in the recent past I was intrigued, and got to seeing if I could get to draw my characters.
Turns out, it can.
Here and there I've responded to people asking about making AI art, and after some requests, I figured I'd write a little guide on how-to. Here goes…
Before we begin, I want to make a few things clear:
AI art is tricky from legal and moral points of view. But I don't think any of that applies when it comes to making art for personal use only using free open-source tools. I really don't think anyone is hurt when the created art is seen only by myself and a few fellow players. Surely it's better than stealing art from a Google Images search or by surfing around on Deviant Art, which was the old way of getting character art for personal use.
I'm not an expert on AI art. I'm only an enthused hobbyist, sharing what I've found.
This is only one way of doing things, using one particular AI tool. I'm not claiming it's the best way. It's just what I know.
This is a fairly quick, introductory guide. It'll get you started. It's up to you to carry yourself onward to more advanced results!
Notice the date of this guide (you can see it down the bottom). This guide will get outdated. The links will slowly die as websites change. I apologise if you've come to it too late for it to be useful.
All that said, let's get started.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What You Need
You need Stable Diffusion, and in particular, this distribution. Installation instructions are there for you to follow. This guide will not cover installing it. Note that you will need a fairly powerful computer.
Later on, you can worry about installing some checkpoint models and optionally some LoRA models. Those links explain what those things are, and how to install them. Good models will make better images. But if you're in a hurry, don't worry, play with the pre-installed stuff and come back later.
All of the images immediately below were generated by Stable Diffusion, but different models and prompts created wildly different styles.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I've annotated all the images in this post with what models I am using. Mouse over an image and click the "ALT" to see. It's not vital for you to use the same models or prompts as me, but if you want to, you can.
Here's a quick list of models I've used:
Comic Diffusion 2
DreamShaper
Arcane Style LoRA
Stable Diffusion 1.5
Text to Image
Fire up Stable Diffusion. Click the "txt2img" tab. In the "prompt" area, type in something like "portrait of a male dwarven axe warrior, braided beard". I did this with fully default settings and got both images below. The only difference is the model. The left image uses a model that comes with Stable Diffusion, the right comes with a downloaded model.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Notice it ignored me on a braided beard? The AI takes your prompt as a suggestion at best. You can weight prompts, read more about that here. (In fact, it's probably not a bad idea to read that whole article sometime, as prompts are important to understand.)
These images have braided beards!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hopefully you can see what we've covered already gets you a powerful tool for making character portraits.
Image to Image
"img2img" takes an image and re-draws it artfully. This is great if you've got a rough reference of your character that you're like to render more artfully.
One such example of doing this is with HeroForge. Make your character and capture a screenshot of it. (If you don't know how to take a screenshot, do a search to find out. It's not hard.)
Put this image in "img2img". Then use a prompt as before. Below is an example with a HeroForge screenshot of the left, and some generated AI art on the right.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Be sure to tinker with the sliders "CFG Scale" and "Denoising strength". You can mouse over each in Stable Diffusion to read more. While the defaults tend to work well for "txt2img", they often need to be tweaked in "img2img".
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There's no reason why you can't use an "txt2img" image as an input to "img2img". You might do this if you wanted to generate variations on the image, while keeping the same basic look and arrangement.
Improving Images: Upscale
Stable Diffusion can't generate large images. But Stable Diffusion does have an in-built tool in the "Extras" tab where you can resize images (any images, not just ones you've made in Stable Diffusion).
This upscaler does a much better job than most "dumb" image resizing tools. Be sure to actually select an upscaler (the "R-ESRGAN" ones work well), if you use "None" then you'll get awful results.
It's pretty simple to figure out. If need be, you can read about it here.
Improving Images: Mix and Match
This requires you to have an image editor like Gimp (which is free) or Photoshop, and the skills to use it. It's a technique I often use when I've feeling very fussy and want perfect results.
Using "img2img", get an image with models and prompts you feel is generate pretty good results. (You can always use an image you generated with "txt2img" as the image input for "img2img".)
Set Stable Diffusion to generate loads of images using the parameters from step 1. The outputs should all look very similar, but with different details.
Choose different images with bits you like. Find a picture that you like overall, then find picture(s) that have done certain things better. For instance, you might like the hair of one image and the eyes of another.
Get the pictures you identified in step 3 and throw them into your image editing tool.
Layer the images on top of one another. Put the "base image" that you liked overall at the bottom.
For images that are not the "base", erase everything except the part you like. Because the images are so similar, this should work well. Use a soft-edge erase for best results.
Adjust your layers and transparencies until it's just right. Then flatten the image and save it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
General Tips
Here are some general tips for generating AI art:
If you only want a portrait, only ask for a portrait. That means specifying terms like "portrait" in your prompt, and if you're using img2img only supply the portrait area. Most people wanting character art will only want a portrait, after all. The quality of faces made by AI art seems to get worse the more of the body it draws.
Use celebrities to guide facial features. Do you want a certain look for your character? Throw in the celebrity's name into the prompt. You'll often get a happy medium: an "angelina jolie half-orc" won't just be the actress with green skin, but you will get a certain resemblance. There are lots of celebrities with very striking looks, so this can work well! Can you guess the celebrities of these portraits? Click their "ALT" tag to find out!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
AIs know the "Tolkein races" (humans, elves, dwarves, etc) better than obscure races like dragonborn and kenku. Semi-famously, AI sucks at centaurs. But these races aren't impossible, as shown below.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Make large batches of images. When you think you've mostly gotten the settings right, set the AI to make dozens or even hundreds of images. The only downside to doing so it that it'll take you some time to pick the best one(s)! There's a handy button to "Open images output directory" to make browsing easy.
Most importantly, fiddle and experiment. There are so many settings you can fiddle with, so many models and LoRAs you can try out, so many different ways to word your prompts. (For prompts, just Google "prompt stable diffusion" and you'll see plenty of guides and inspiration.) Never get "stuck" on a particular way of doing things: you may find better results are just a small tweak away!

31. Alraune - Pathfinder
Tumblr media
Do you want a seductress of the forest or nature?  Ok, well there’s like a thousand of those including but not limited to nymphs, glaistig, dryads, rusalka, sirens... Ah but you want one that is evil and eats men.  Ok... while rusalka still fits that bill and so does the frostwind virago and many more.  But there isn’t much of a specific forest related seductress that immediately hops to my mind.  Sure, there are twisted and evil nymphs but that isn’t the default.  The alraune comes perhaps the closest of all, and thank god, unlike most of these, it can come in either male or female form.  An alraune lures people for the sake of becoming fertilizer for it and goes beyond natural seduction to having a fragrance that can calm its victims as they die.  Their enchanting abilities are so prolific that they are known to have their victims manipulated into digging their own graves.  If we expand out and give the alraune more societal capabilities, we can take that both literally and metaphorically.  Unfortunately the creature as is doesn’t seem to have much in the way of aspirations beyond feeding itself, despite being significantly more powerful than many of the seducer type monsters listed.  We do have the advantage of taking from the actual lore that Pathfinder took the Alraune from, but the lore is a bit more uh.... NSFW than what most games could necessarily handle and really doesn’t expand much more on a core motive unless you really want to go for a particularly messed up story (Which I’m not saying no to, but it’s more than I’m willing to write about on a tumblr post).  Still, seducer and enchanting based enemies are a good enough concept to perhaps dig more deeply into this creature and the fact that it is a plant rather than a fey, can make it all the more strange and alien.

Having several thoughts about how gnolls are really cool as a basic concept but hot damn D&D 5e’s lore for them is absolute garbage, and... seriously, Tieflings are in the fucking Player’s Handbook now but gnolls are just Too Demonic For Players? Does someone at WotC like, have something against hyenas or something?
So I’m posting my fanmade gnoll rework concepts that I’ve had for years and I’m finally accepting I’m never gonna fucking use.
Just
Fucking
Base it off actual hyenas as a starting point. Think about what hyenas are actually like compared to other predators.
For ability scores, A lot of the playable gnoll races I’ve seen give them high strength or dexterity, which is kind of a weird one because I don’t think hyenas are particularly dexterous, not compared to other predators like cats. They’re pursuit predators with relatively good endurance, they have really good immune systems that make them effective scavengers, and they’re pretty darn hard to kill. Gnolls’ biggest physical stat bonus should be Constitution, absolutely no question, with strength next. For mental stats... hyenas are really smart by animal standards, and good at cooperative problem solving in particular. Being bad at any particular mental stat in D&D/Pathfinder doesn’t really fit with that, but if the system requires a stat penalty for balance reasons Charisma is probably the best one to put it in to represent the cultural and body language barriers between gnolls and... well, non-furry humanoids.
7′ tall, 300 lb gnolls is kind of bizarre since spotted hyenas are pretty close in weight to humans. Wikipedia lists 198 lb as about the heaviest weight for them. My headcanon for this is that gnolls are supposed to be human-sized-ish, but the clans a heroic adventuring party is most likely to get in a fight with are, y’know, the ones that are basically demon cults, and have a significant number of 7′ tall monstrosities as a result of interbreeding with demons.
Spotted hyenas are matriarchal and females are bigger and stronger than the males. This shouldn’t be reflected in RPG stats other than a difference in the height and weight stats basically get ignored unless someone needs to carry an unconscious character or something, for the same reason that ability scores ignore sexual dimorphism for every other race in the game and... does any culture in D&D canonically have strong gender roles by default besides the Drow?
Having a super-short lifespan is technically not “unrealistic” for an animal-based race, but it’s... just really player unfriendly, especially when half the party’s probably playing elves and dwarves that live like 300 years.
Other traits: Give ‘em low-light vision, disease resistance (not poison: disease specifically). Gnolls have powerful jaws and should have a natural bite attack, but like... most of the time natural weapons on a humanoid shouldn’t actually be very useful in armed combat because... yes it can do serious damage, but so can a fucking spear, and you can run someone through from a lot farther away than you can bite them, and not have to expose yourself to someone driving a fucking knife through your chin while you’re trying to rip their arm off. If you give gnolls any other gimmicky combat ability, it should be based on teamwork or survivability / making it a miserable process for someone to attack you.
I’m kinda ehhhh on gnoll subraces, other than maybe giving demonblood gnolls their own stats.
Okay so for gnoll culture... first of all we have to figure out how to handle Yeenoghu, and there’s two ways of handling this that I like.
Option 1: Yeenoghu is actually just the gnoll war goddess, but is believed to be a demon lord by most other cultures based on rumors spread by people at war with gnolls, and... like, literal demonization your enemies’ gods is a common phenomenon throughout history IRL. This is best for a low-magic campaign where the gods don’t get involved enough to correct these misconceptions.
Option 2: Gnolls are a cautionary tale of what happens when demon cults aren’t stopped early. Gnolls actually have/had their own patron deities, but they’re now powerless to protect their people from Yeenoghu’s followers, and they’ve overrun a significant portion of the species. Not so much through conversion as through conquest as subjugation and extermination, except now they’ve reached such a critical mass and become so much of a threat to other cultures that it’s turning them against the surviving non-cultist clans, and some of them are starting to convert by “choice” because they see it as the only way of surviving that’s left.
With this one, I really like the idea that Yeenoghu is actually female and the widely known lore gets her gender wrong due to a translation error / misinformation / because of very human gender stereotypes causing people to assume that female demon lords are all the sneaky, subtle, corrupting/tempting types and that a demon lord of sheer brutality and destruction would obviously be male. This misconception persists because Yeenoghu’s followers are too busy eating people to discuss pronouns.
The other really important factor driving gnoll culture to evolve in certain ways is that gnolls are obligate carnivores. Their diet needs to be mostly meat, whether living or dead, and in a medieval-tech society, unless it’s really high magic I don’t think a sedentary gnoll community would be able to produce enough food to support themselves. However this doesn’t require gnolls to be hunter-gatherers / survive by raiding.
Seriously guys. Nomadic pastoralist gnolls. Or at least transhumance. Gnoll shepherds, using domesticated hyenas as herding animals. Or if you’re doing a Western AU... consider, and I’m just saying consider this as an option: Gnolls in cowboy hats.
However, in warfare this also creates the darker side of even non-demon-worshiping gnolls. They’re predators, and biologically adapted to be scavengers, and in any premodern setting an army marches on its stomach. It is way harder for gnolls to keep a fighting force supplied, especially if the enemy is burning their own fields and any livestock they can’t take with them. Why would they pass up free meat? Even if they have a taboo against cannibalism unlike real hyenas, do humans really count as cannibalism for a gnoll? Not eating enemy corpses would be a huge handicap for them.
This, of course, tends to make most other cultures hate gnolls if they’ve fought them in recent memory, and resort to tactics like poisoning livestock or corpses, or infecting them with contagious diseases (disease resistant doesn’t mean disease immune, IRL spotted hyenas can still catch diseases like rinderpest). Unfortunately in gnoll culture that is considered a war crime.
Seriously though, hyenas are cool, gnolls are a really cool concept if you actually make them basically anthropomorphic hyenas, IDK if I have to eat my “Not A Furry” card over this.

i just thought about harry trying to put on a big show for sara and cora right before habitat 7
Tumblr media
(also his arms are very stocky in that armor and i know it's just a default male body but um i'm having other thoughts now too)
and how he gets so excited when he gets a single shot at the kett
and then how he watches alec ryder die and almost loses one of the ryder twins
and then suddenly all of this "if that is home down there, i'm happy to knock!" is "i'm too old for this shit, i'm planting my tired ass right here on the hyperion"
but i don't buy it
he traveled 600 years to a new galaxy to do something big and presumably did a lot of training in advance to prepare--he was supposed to be the pathfinder medic, in the field with them. he already committed everything to this and knew this shit wasn't gonna be easy
my man here is dealing with some serious trauma and trying to play it off as a joke
do you wanna talk about it harry

Non-Draenei? Raetos is a curious guy! The various races of Azeroth, their history, customs, and how they live intrigue him! He’s happy to sit there and ask question after question to anyone patient enough to put up with him.
Outdoorsman? Traveler? Raetos is all about the outdoors! He spends a lot of his down time in the various wilds Azeroth has to offer. Need a pathfinder, tracker, or hunting partner? He’s always up for a good challenge and will even lend a hand in some bounty hunting!
Army of Light? Raetos spent most of his time out on the field, by himself, due to the nature of his work. He never got to know his brethren very closely, and would be happy to do so now that the war is over.
Hang out at bars? He can certainly be found hanging out in pubs and inns, always looking for a friend… or trying to get lucky. He spent WAY too much time alone as a soldier and craves company.
OOC Info  ––– –
IRL I am a 37 year old mom to three active children and one angel. I’ve also been happily married for 14 years! I work in the laboratory at my local hospital and do some side work as a freelance illustration artist. I enjoy RPing, writing and drawing in my spare time. And, of course, I can never get enough World of Warcraft!
I’ve been RPing since the age of 14; my first fandom being Beast Wars over mIRC. Over the years, the fandoms changed but my love for RP only grew stronger. I started RPing in World of Warcraft in early Cataclysm, and have spent years building up characters both on Alliance side and Horde side. I’m a HUGE Draenei fan. Love me my Spacegoats <3 I enjoy adventure and slice of life type of RP; budding and growing friendships and relationships. Also frienemies and IC drama are always fun! I have a tendency to put my characters through a lot of pain and suffering, mostly because I enjoy seeing the healing process and development it brings as I write through them.
While I do play some promiscuous characters and draw some NSFW stuff, I don’t typically ERP. Currently, there are only 2 people I trust enough to write these scenes out with and they know who they are. My default is Fade to Black, so expect that if your characters are getting intimate with mine. While I don’t RP bedroom scenes, I am more than happy to discuss what would typically happen during those moments OOCly.
Contact Information  ––– –
Easiest is to shoot me a message through Tumblr and I’ll share my Battle Tag. Or contact me on any of my characters on Wyrmrest Accord-US (Sinafay/Kaieka/Raetos Alliance side. Syrielle/Aelissah/Durash Horde side.) I also have Discord, but I like to know people a bit better before I share that info.

Fun facts about these two idiots
Juliet Ryder:
Adept, logical/professional, lesbian, romances Vetra
The Pathfinder
Was closer with Alec
While she is more mature and cautious than her brother, he has a way of pulling her into his dumbass antics
When Alec was discovered researching AI tech and it basically ruined Juliet’s career it caused a rift in their relationship and it never quite went back to what it was. Not getting a chance to forgive her father is one of her biggest regrets
Blasto fan
When she has spare time she embroiders. She’s not very good but she finds it relaxing
Learned how to patch up clothes since new ones would be hard to come by in Andromeda. She never has to patch up her own clothes though, it’s mostly Scott’s
Listens to music while in battle. Everyone hates it because it makes it harder to communicate but she’s adamant it helps her focus
Scott bought her blasto tank top as a gift
Her biotics are unusually strong for a human, almost on par with an Asari’s (like Cora) She also trained with a former Justicar to hone her abilities before coming to Andromeda
The yarrow tatto on her in arm is in memory of her parents and means “everlasting love”
All her friends call her “Jules”
Liara T’Soni is basically her hero
Scott Ryder:
Vanguard, emotional/casual, bisexual, romances Jaal
He has the default male Ryder appearance because I’m lazy and bad at male character design
Himbo
His biotics aren’t as strong as his sister’s, but he doesn’t really care. He likes using shotguns anyway
Was closer with Ellen and was devastated by her death
Never had a great relationship with Alec and when he ruined his career it only made their relationship worse. He still loved him though
Had no idea he was bisexual until Juliet explained to him that straight people don’t fantasize about dating their same-sex friends
Big fan of Shepard
Also a fan of Blasto
He and Juliet do this thing in battle where she pulls and then throws an enemy into the air and then Scott charges them. It’s lowkey dangerous but very fun so they haven’t stopped doing it
Despite being so different from his sister, they get along pretty well
Gives everyone motion sickness when he drives the nomad

another round 'o octane headcanons king?
-octane likes playing multiple consoles at once but sometimes prefers pc because pc games run faster/movement is faster
-octane also has earrings and switches them out every day. hes most fond of these types/style :
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
-other types of piercings he has/had:
eyebrow piercing on one eyebrow (slit on the other eyebrow), snake bites, has regular lobe piercings but also industrial and helix piercings
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
his nose ring was a nostril piercing, not septum, and he doesnt wear it anymore but maybe after he sees wraith's nose piercing he thinks about getting one again. has a scar where fhe previous was ripped out
-he studied medicine for like a brief period before giving up but if really needed he could probably help lifeline out. he'd be very unhelpful but like he's in the top 5 legends of "could compress a wound and not have you bleed out"
-no top surgery yet but hes on the fence on if he wants it or not. on the one hand titties are fun and he likes his and it doesnt matter if he has them or not because he's on T and Very Obviously Male and doesn't get misgendered often, if at all . on the other hand he wants to be shirtless without lifeline yelling at him to at least put a bra on
-he is literally a lightweight he can handle maybe two drinks before passing out
-he does actually pass out really easily hence why needs so many energy drinks/stim to stay awake he's one of those "closed my eyes for like a second and woke up 3 days later. who am i" types of people
-mixed-race and multilingual (spanish/portuguese/english/a bit of japanese) but defaults to spanish most of the time
-cant cook. who needs to learn cooking when u had people to cook For You
-he doesn't get along well with people? not really. relationships w him are probably rly one-sided but he doesn't do it on purpose he just has difficulty understanding social cues and talking to people and comes across as kinda self absorbed what with his hyperactive and constant need for stimulation
people he DOES get on really well with are: pathfinder, who's used to one-sided friendships anyway; bangalore, who views him kind of like a little brother/nephew; mirage to an extent; he stills feels inferior to others esp octane and crypto but they have fun together cuz theyre the resident clowns; wattson but he has to be in the mood because he finds her electrical engineer stuff boring and she Wants to be friends with him but he's not returning the feeling
-he and mirage do streams together sometimes to achieve maximum viewer count
-afraid of revenant but in a [laughs nervously and still tries to joke with him] kinda way

It’s another facial hair! This time it’s the Pathfinder facial hair II, associated with the Mass Effect: Andromeda character Scott Ryder in the default state. The name is pretty self explanatory, and probably overused now for s4 cc :P
[Note: The above previews show partial texture issues, only found in the Male Pathfinder hair I made, which is like that because of how I mirrored the hair when I edited the original maxis mesh].
The basic details are:
◘ Base-Game Compatible
◘ In all 18 EA Base-Game hair colors
Download’s down here↯
