Okay. Since we're going over all the takes on Mr. X at this point.. What if his powers really don't have a backside. What if (the state of) his normal life is the backside.

What if his normal life is akin to that of heroes where he has to pretend to be something he's not and follow rules that the people who control his life came up with to further their own goals. What if he can only be free of other people's beliefs and expectations when he's a hero.

What if in reality he truly is like everyone else. The other heroes. The ordinary people. All those who work themselves to the bone, who are tired and overworked and sick of all the exploitation...

What if when he's in the form of the number one hero.. when he becomes the most sought after product on the hero market..

Is when he gains the freedom to truly be himself

Apropos of nothing, here's my personal headcanon in regards to Mario and Luigi's surname.

Now, it's been generally announced and accepted that the brothers' last name is "Mario," shackling them with the somewhat awkward full names of "Mario Mario" and "Luigi Mario." My take on this is that the family's original last name was "Marianetti" (likely coming from the more common "Marinetti"). This name was changed to "Marionetti" when the boys' grandmother came over from Italy. (A common occurrence in record keeping at immigration at the time. Someone probably had bad handwriting and smudged a pencil stroke somewhere. It happened in my family for sure).

In Brooklyn, their father went by the last name "Marionetti," which ended up shortened to just "Mario," as oftentimes he would be addressed by his surname only. (Think, "Hey, Mario! Get over here!" as opposed to "Hey, Marionetti! Get over here!")

So, the boys are born and get their names. (Their father's middle name was Mario, and so our Mario, being the oldest, inherits his father's middle name as his first name. Luigi's name maybe comes from the middle name of some uncle who is long out of the picture).

So we have "Mario Marionetti" and "Luigi Marionetti." Which, their surname being a mouthful, gets shortened to "Mario" more often than not, just like their father. And thus we end up with "Mario Mario" and "Luigi Mario," culminating in the "Mario Brothers."

I love that the outsiders is all about not belonging and follows this massive rivalry between the greasers and socs, but also, the greasers and socs are drawn to each other constantly.

like Marcia, who feels like she has never belonged with the Socs and tries so hard to be part of their little group but finds herself being drawn to Two-Bit. She can be herself with him and have no judgement because he just supports her unconditionally. Which something she never had with the Socs. And Two-Bit who can let down his walls with her and doesn’t need to just be the guy who cracks jokes to lighten the mood. He can show the parts of himself he keeps hidden and knows that she’ll still love him.

Then there’s Cherry, who draws in the Curtis boys so much because she reaches out to them and tries to help. She shows that caring isn’t just about the people she was always with, and maybe there’s part of Pony and Soda that longs for that connection to prove that their town isn’t as stuck as they think.

and Darrel was drawn to Paul. His story just wasn’t one with the happy ending. Darrel was always with Paul and Paul was always drawn to Darrel. They were so similar and yet completely different. They’re the reason that Two-Bit, Marcia, Pony, and Soda are wary of the other group and try to fight getting closer to someone who they think is so different, only to find that maybe not every ending is like Darrel and Paul’s.

I love when proshippers got nothing to say against those who dislike their ships so they chalk up our opinions to “they just hate that OWK is hotter than Anakin” (which he is not) or “Anidalas hate OWK’s involvement with both Anakin or Padmé.” (Which we don’t. All of us literally love OWK and Anakin’s relationship, and OWK is hardly interactive with Padmé, so we don’t care for that non-existent dynamic.) Lol, instead of just accepting or realizing that their ships are plain gross and it really has nothing to do with being jealous of OWK or hating him, they collectively tell themselves this. (Mind you, most of us don’t even hate OWK, majority of us love that old messed up dude.)

And acting like OWK is indefinitely the “better option” because he’s the character with less baggage and the charm and charisma of the actor is what does it for you is exactly why most of us don’t take your opinions seriously, your biases, and projections, and lack of understanding for nuance takes over the logical conclusion.
