I appreciate that she is a very resentful character. Zoe not wanting to view Connor as a good person because she was wronged feels so cool to me. She isn’t wrong, Connor likely abused her and she shouldn’t have to miss him because of societal expectations. Love her. Best girl.

Least Favorite Thing About Them

I think Zoe (especially in fannon) is played a bit too dumb. Given her reactions to Evan in early act one I don’t think she would ever actually fall for Evan. I really don’t like the you made my brother a good person now kiss me thing she has going on. I feel like she wouldn’t do that if she was a real person. I know she’s like 16 but…she clearly didn’t like Evan up until the end of YWBF. She rejected him after IICTH, she didn’t sing in Disappear, and I know she’s supposed to have her moment of acceptance that Connor ���was a good person” in YWBF but it feels kind of forced. She’s smarter than to believe the lies imo and the fandom really ran with the idea of her being easily manipulated for quite a while

They shouldn’t have written out Zoe’s best friend character that was in the original draft of the show. Yes this is because the best friend was named Becca. But also Zoe needed a teen to bounce off of that wasn’t Evan because she never interacts with Alana or Jared. She’s isolated for the most part and would have been a stronger character if she had a friend in her corner. Her only “friend” we see in the show is her mom

(Friendly reminder that Zoe has a friend named Bea in the book (I think that’s the name it’s been a hot minute since I read the book—either way she has an actual friend with a name) and I hc them as enby)

i was a theater kid in high school, so still all of hamilton, deh, bmc, heathers, next to normal, and a bunch of other musicals. also some crane wives songs like "never love an anchor" and "nobody" and some will wood songs like "becoming the lastnames" "your body my temple" "tomcat disposables" "marsha thankk you for the dialectics" and "skeleton appreciation day". also "marineers revenge" by the decemberists. it is GREAT

Review: I’ve never read a book that made me feel anxious just by reading a scene. The Daedalus Protocol is an adventure from beginning to end, and will have you flipping page after page to see the fate of some of the most intriguing characters I’ve ever read about.

As I started reading, this was a solid four star for me. At first, I felt that there was just too much information and things were being over explained, but the further I got into the book… the more I realized it was all needed. I’m not a huge religious person, so the explanations of certain things was much appreciated. As was the info dump of everything else because it painted a vivid picture as I read.

Seriously, when is this becoming a movie?

What started off as a four star read transformed into a five star by the time I was finished. If you loved The Davinci Code or National Treasure, you will love The Daedalus Protocol. It was such an adventurous ride that I can’t wait to see where the crew ends up next.

Haha, yeah, it's because some of them I haven't touched in literal YEARS, but they're a part of my history and I'd like to come back to them if not to write them, to take inspiration from them into a better story

Torpor Hawks

Uhhh, there's this episode of Vanitas that I'm a little obsessed with where Vanitas and Jeanne are trapped together in the freezing cold and have to share body warmth and homegirl literally feeds him medicine by kissing him and I said "What if Dabihawks??"

So it's a story about someone with a teleportation quirk sending Hawks and Dabi to a secluded snowy mountain with only an abandoned shed and Hawks is getting colder and colder and Dabi has to use his quirk to warm them both up, and they gotta shed all their close so they have skin-to-skin body-heat, and I just want them to be forced into situations where they have to be intimate to survive, lol

Sea Witch

Had to relook at that one, haha! So, it's a story for my Mermaid Superhero OC. This sea witch is attempting to invade my main character's mind and take control of her powers that way. Very fun stuff. Will I ever write it?? Remains to be seen haha

DEH Rewrite

So, I think the entire premise of Dear Evan Hansen is stupid as fuck. But I think most of the music could work in a different setting. I was thinking about writing it, but with a premise closer to something like the anime "Given" because I think DEH would be better if it really was just a coming out story, now with music!! Like, Mafuyu would be a better protagonist in Dear Evan Hansen, then Evan Hansen

agak susah sih menurut aku kalo nggak familiar sama worldbuildingnya... aku nonton top gun (1986) udah dari tahun lalu tapi baru kepincut esmat tahun ini setelah nemu "titik halu" yang paling pasnya (kombinasi karakterisasi + dinamika karakter yang cocok buat aku). dulu waktu pertama kepincut weishin aku juga nggak langsung nulis, kan. ngeraba-raba dulu, baca sosmed au sana-sini punya orang lain... baru deh setelah titik halunya ketemu aku berani nulis buat mereka lol. sekarang jalurnya esmat persis kayak gini juga.

if you really are curious my recommendation is this: baca aja tretnya (the labuan bajo one, or this oneshot if you prefer written fics) PURELY for fun, zero expectations. pretend that you already know the characters. pretend that you are not confused, even if you are. also: the whole experience is going to be a lot easier if you find 80s tom cruise attractive. and the thing about my characters is that i always based them on the source material: so if you find anything funny—dialogues, lines, chats—chances are they're also like that in the canon version. and that's where i ask you to watch the movie. it's only less than 2 hours and so very easy to watch. and then re-read everything again for context.

Anyways, late night ramblings woo!

I have recently found a new hyper fixation and you know usually that wouldn't be a problem considering most of the degenerates here have one or two of their own right? Right. The only problem I personally have with my new hyper fixation is the fact that it is not a fictional character.

Usually my hyper fixations involves fictional characters like Midoriya from MHA, Hiccup from HTTYD, Evan from DEH, and Loki from MCU. This is all well and good because hey they aren't real and I can draw them in suggestive poses and shit and not feel guilty because they do not co exist with me in this plane of existence.

This new hyper fixation of mine is a content creator more specifically a character they play in this rp thing they got going on and in all honesty I am saving every drawing and every picture of them I see simply because it itches a part of my brain. It's in the same vain of saving fanart and official art of fictional characters the only difference being that i don't interact with any lewd or nsfw art to the best of my ability because this is still very much a real person.

I save fanart of their character because I'm hyper fixating but I also save fanart of them because Jesus some of y'all can draw.

At first it was simply fanart but then my FYP on TikTok got over taken by edits of them and now I'm saving both lil clips and photos of them because they are just aesthetically pleasing to look at.

I should clarify that I am in no way attracted to this content creator. I am aro ace i don't feel any sort of attraction to anybody certain characters and in this case people simply make me happy.

Anyways this is just a long winded way of my saying that younger me would cringe at the fact that I'm saving pics of an actual person like some psycho instead of saving fanart of some fictional character. I dunno I just find it weird.

I've never hyper fixated on an actual person before but this content creator is just so entertaining to watch and so incredibly dumb in an endearing way it's difficult not to save every pic of them I see.

I would appreciate the edits that pop up on my FYP to not me simp edits but what can I do. They are super pretty so I can see how others would simp for them.

shoutout to the serendipity of it all like this unlikely ass show dropping in this unprecedented nonbinary character b/c a co-creator organically heard about how Nonbinary People Real and was like gee wouldn't that be interesting. an actor getting hold of the character breakdown who could go "hey wait a second. I'M nonbinary people." going "wouldn't it be interesting too if there was an autistic character" but even more inadvertently b/c they don't even know. seeing deh & maybe it helped that ben platt happened to be out that performance & offering a one-off bit part to an actor you can write a role around after casting, because then went "god damn i guess we keep writing him [ugh, those annoying loser nerds we all hate, am i right?] material so he can keep up the magic." that the autistic guy just has to happen to latch on to the nonbinary person throughout the whole series, and then do it again for the other person whose nonbinarity is a secret like his autistacity. the role of taylor being so powerful that they'd escape the scope of the series in 5 episodes if it wasn't holding them back by the scruff of the neck to prevent that. same regarding winston not even getting a funny little arc in his own right because if someone doesn't tell him to shut up every few seconds, the illusions would start to break down, like taylor's mere presence does re: gender. that the closest taylor got to escaping the curse of the series and reaching full potential was thanks to winston breaking rules and being serious enough about anything to give them honest criticism to their face. that only one character's worn a tmc tee shirt once, twice, as statements, It's Winston. that winston's kind of too powerful to even potentially get a dynamic with taylor as is warranted, like how taylor can't ever Not have one or two bullshit central characters getting in their way on purpose: too much could be accomplished, too much would have to change to accommodate this

and of course shoutout to us for serendipitously organically finding the wonder of the world that is All Winston & Taylor Scenes in Season 3 and becoming the niche fans who are so wrong about the show that we're righter than it can handle (and not to jokingly discredit the soph nothingunrealistic taylor scholarship & appreciation which involves a ton of correctness about canon even without being here for an s1 elements) (anyways autistic winston is also correct. the "wrongness" is a joke. didn't want us here, then you shouldn't have partly accidentally hosted the bitchingest characters who just so happen to need the idiosyncrasies of billions to be so elevated without any tamping down or required context of being outliers)

JRWI Characters and what musicals I think they’d like (going purely from what musicals I’m familiar with so this might be biased and I apologize)

Gillion feels like the kind of guy to like the Phantom of the Opera, purely because the music style seems like it would REALLY appeal to him (it’s loud!! And it’s more traditional operatic music which I also feel would fit him). Plus, the Phantom doesn’t win which Gill would appreciate (I think Pretzel would like it too).

Chip I think would be a Music Man fan, or Guys and Dolls. Stuff with lots of chorus-y parts and fun dancing. Music Man has tap dancing which I think Chip would really enjoy, plus the main character in MM is a scammer/traveling salesman and Chip could probably relate. I know a lot less about GaD, but it’s purely a vibes thing. The music seems like Chip would like it.

Jay, I think, would be a fan of more “traditional” musicals, but not to the degree of Phantom. She’d be more fond of Wicked, for example. I think she’d probably be reminded of her sister a lot watching that show, which could either be a good or a bad thing. And Wicked has some really cool special effects that I think Jay would really like, given her knack for inventions.

These two aren’t PCs but I feel obligated to do them anyways: Lizzy and Caspian would be Heathers and Les Mis fans, respectively. Heathers is loud and super fun and swears a lot (lmao) which feels like the type of music Lizzy could get behind. I think she’d like singing along with Veronica’s parts, she seems like she’d sound a lot like Veronica when she sings. With Caspian, I feel like Les Mis is a very elegant musical, and Caspian is a very elegant character. I think it would be the kind of musical to make him cry honestly. And it’s similar to opera, which I feel like would be popular in the Undersea.

I’m not going to do ALL the other JRWI PCs, that would take forever (I might do them later but not now). I’ll list a few if they seem very obvious:

Harlem would like Hamilton. It’s a rap musical, and it’s we know Harlem is a fan of rap. I think he’d cry when Phillip dies, not that he’ll admit it. Also, Legally Blonde! I think he’d be super embarrassed that he likes it so much, but it’s got the crazy, overdramatic vibe that he would like in a musical. I’m not sure if there are disco-style musicals, but if there were he would love those.

Br’aad and Sylnan would both be Beetlejuice fans. This is partly cause I saw an animatic of them with “Dead Mom” as the song and it killed me inside, but I think they would like it! Br’aad would definitely appreciate the humor, and both of them can relate to unlikable father figures (understatement). Sylnan might also be a Les Mis fan cause he can relate to the poverty-stricken lifestyle a little more than Br’aad, and I think Cosette would probably remind him of Katherine.

Alastyr would like The Addams Family. It’s got a super weird cast of characters I think he would enjoy, plus, super fun music! It’s not so serious that it would be a downer to watch but it’s got a message hidden under all that eyeliner and tango dancing. I think he’d like Wednesday a lot.

Taxi strikes me as Dear Evan Hansen kind of guy. While I personally don’t like DEH that much, I think the emotional-ness of it would really appeal to Taxi, and as far as I know there aren’t a lot of really loud and angry songs (besides “Good For You”). I don’t know if he would fully relate to Evan, but he could certainly sympathize.

Rumi/Elaina would like Six or Phantom. I think they’d like dramatic musicals with a lot of strong characters, and Six absolutely has a cast of strong female characters Rumi could get behind. Phantom, on the other hand, would be a relatable one for them. The Phantom’s whole character is that he hides behind a mask, and Rumi is literally a shapeshifter. Plus, they would love all the costumes in that show.

Dakota, and this may be a hot take, would like Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. I just feel like all the bright colors and the different song styles would be really eye-catching for him, plus, it’s got some humor! I think he’d like the Pharaoh character especially (Pharaoh is based off Elvis in that musical and he’s hilarious).
