"What is it you want?"
"Another forty minutes with you."
I liked the part with the wipe transition.
Easily one of the most well portrayed romances I've ever seen. There was such undeniable chemistry between Vivian (Helen Shaver) and Cay (Patricia Charbonneau), and the way they expressed it through wordless looks and gentle, yearning touches was powerful stuff. The scene where they first kissed was so deeply, passionately romantic, and I was impressed by how genuine and tender the later sex scenes were.
With beautiful shots of the Nevada desert and a fantastic soundtrack of 1950's music, the tone throughout Desert Hearts was impeccably set. Between analogue slot machines clanging and Blue Moon coming on the radio, I was put in mind of Fallout: New Vegas. Always a good thing to be put in mind of, as far as I'm concerned.
I'm shocked I've never heard this mentioned before. A heartwarming love story and an excellent movie.
