I have define my specific methodology, which is the triple diamond method. I have map the stages of methodology to a timeline with a brief explanation why the methodology I have chosen is appropriate for my project. I have indicated key milestones and sub-phases across the remaining weeks of the semester.

⚖️ I was Audio Lead for Scales of Olympus, a submission to GMTK Game Jam 2024! ⚖️

Scales of Olympus is a tower defense game set on an island in the sky that tilts based on the weight of the towers and enemies on the board. Defend the central tower while trying to keep your towers from sliding off!

I also did sound design and Wwise audio implementation for the game. I'm really proud of how it sounds and I think the audio team, art team, game design team, and programming team all did fantastic work. Please check out our game, we worked really hard on it! -🦦🌙✨

I am participating in a game jam hosted by Mark Brown from the Game Maker's Toolkit channel!🎮

We made a sci-fi strategy where you play as a big flesh monster; your main objective is to escape from the laboratory. The theme of the jam is "Fit to scale" and we had 96 hours to make a game. In my opinion it turned out pretty fun, you can check it out if you want (you can play in the browser). What I made for this game: - Some 2D art (cover image, logo, menu, UI, a bit of 2D assets, itch page elements); - Sound design and main music theme of the game. Really enjoyed working in a team and trying out new things.

Note that the game contains stylised gore imagery (nothing hardcore) and sounds that some individuals may find unpleasant (which you can turn off in the settings)!

I used to think that I was the only person who cared about this particular topic, and then Mark Brown blessed me with this video. My contention is this: information should either be totally hidden, or it should be totally transparent and readily available. Any design that relies on info simply being "hard to calculate" or "hard to remember" is just asking for frustrated players to crack out their phones to assist.

Finally found the time to watch it. This is really good. It doesn't go too much in depth, but it's a very good collection of design principles that can be applied pretty broadly. It's an hour long, but can be watched in bite sized bits since it's basically 20 3-minutes essays.

On a similar note, Game Maker's Toolkit released a similar video recently, which is also very good!

If you're a game designer, or are interested in game design for other reasons*, 8 highly recommend watching both videos!

*= ad a player, game design is incredibly fascinating because it shows how designers can subtly manipulate the players' actions to have the game experiences intended by the designers, it's super cool
