I’m not sure how to feel about Vikings not showing the discovery of Athelstan’s body.

On the one hand? Kinda impressed. They went the classic horror route of “Nothing will ever be as good as what you can imagine from a few hints” and in a lot of ways I think that’s perfect. As a viewer, I get to imagine who found him. I get to imagine how each character reacted (with the assumption that Ragnar was probably hit hardest), and nothing I assume will ever be wrong because the actual event isn’t shown (if I’m wrong and they show it in full a few seasons from now, just ignore me lol)

On the other, Ragnar’s best moments are when he’s reeling from loss, and while we did get that fantastic burial scene (it also says so much that he’s the only one there. Did he insist on it, or was there really no one else that cared to go?) it would have been SO good to see the exact moment he finds out Athelstan is dead, especially since it’s just one episode shy of him being like “You cannot leave. You cannot leave me! *hug* I love you. You are the only one I can trust so you must stay. *prolonged unblinking eye contact* While you are in Kattegat, no one will hurt you *another hug* I shall protect you.” You just know Travis Fimmel would have eaten that scene right up.

Awwww so Jensen's SPN fanfic spin off no one asked for or wanted show is cancelled after only one season!!!

And the writing was so good, the acting outstanding, Bi characters for woke points, and a story that was made with love and caring. Not just a desperate cash grab from an actor who was getting worried the longer he was out of work.

Such a shame too because I'm totes convinced Asstiel was going to be in the 2nd season. Then Destiel was soooooo going to happen. :(

There are some patterns to the kisses in rwby that are kinda disturbing. Granted, a lot of it is the shallow writing that plagues the whole show, but there's one aspect in particular I really don't like

There is an alarming pattern of non consent whenever a confession/kiss occurs. While with Arkos and Renora it's one party forcing their feelings on another (neither Ren nor Jaune ever expressed romantic feelings toward their partner), with Bumblebee the environment itself holds them hostage. And it's always presented as cute

Can these folks write a romance that doesn't leave a bad taste in my mouth please?

since i’m already posting a lot let me talk about byler.

i understand having ship preferences but i’ve seen some people say byler is impossible, or even that will isn’t gay and like everyone can have an opinion but that’s like very intentionally misreading the entire show.

just from a writing standpoint, not even as a shipper, it doesn’t really make sense for them to introduce will having feelings for mike if they don’t have a plan to do something with it. they decided to show us that mike and el’s relationship was rocky, will had feelings for mike and mike seemingly having at least some kind of feelings or possibly conflict over his feelings toward will. why would the writers put all of those dominos up with no intention of knocking them over?

byler being canon or even mike reciprocating will’s feelings very well could be up in the air, sure. but it’s undeniable that will has feelings for him. i just don’t see why in the second to last season they’d make that a big part of will’s story only to have nothing come from it.

Truly I have been hardwired by having tumblr throughout my teen years and into adulthood to look for every single gay shipping opportunity no matter what. Often when it's not even there. I literally cannot turn this part of my brain off that begins looking for conspiracy-level reasons that the thing I'm watching is actually gay.

And like, I wonder what future generations will be like?

If you have real actual queer rep as a kid do you still spend all your time imagining it with your friends? Or is this particular brand of deranged a tumblr-specific thing?

Anyway, this is just to say that I am not yet three seasons in to the 1980s absurdist British sci-fi comedy Red Dwarf about two chicken soup machine repairmen and a man-cat stranded alone in space and I am literally unable to stop my brain from forming an earnest and rabid argument for why the chicken soup repairmen are in the midst of an enemies to lovers arc. One of them is dead and a hologram. It doesn't matter. They are going to fall in love. I know it.

The thing is - Sam Winchester is bisexual in a way where there is (technicly) no textual evidence. He doesent hit on men, he doesent speak of anything like this, no one ever mentions or leads to him being fruity (except for the whole "psychich" metaphore-).

But its just there. Its just obvious. I mean look at him, look at the guy. Hs's bi and he knows it, and has known it for forever.

I mean sure we dont know if he ever had a boyfriend but its obvious. Like you dont even need to mention that he occasionally has male hookups, its clearly, obviously a thing he does.

Makes it even more funnier how he watches Dean go thru a whole bi awakening, and it classical Sam fashion, just observes and enjoys the drama. (Well, at least when he's not out dealing with another severe trauma)

My point is : thats how you do it. And he could have been actually really good rep of they did mention his flings with men. I swear in every situation where he has a hookup or smth, i expect to see a guy walk out and it to be treated casually.

Hm. Idk just toughts. Also just my interpretation of him. Also would have been really funny if they's still treated Dean's bisexuality the way they did, like "ugh oh no pp, cant look at pp im a big macho 'merican muscle man alfa guy - oh my god pretty angel eyes!".

As a former Supernatural fan who is still trying to Get Over It. You can imagine the way my heart throbbed in pain when in The Sandman, Joanna Constantine screamed at Dream in a fit of anguish over her dying lover:

"You want your sand back so you can save all of humanity? Well HERE SHE IS!"

I have never before been so violently thrust into flashbacks of consuming hours of meta about being "in love with humanity" and "we've lost everything, now you're gonna bring HIM back" as I was in that moment. I wonder how many more canonically romantic lovers are gonna take a leaf out of the bible of Destiel? Sigh.
