Investing in Employees: The Key to Sustained Success
Investing in Employees: The Key to Sustained Success
Tumblr media
In the dynamic realm of business, where triumphs and tribulations are routine, it is crucial to ponder the bedrock of enduring success. Drawing from two decades of corporate experience, I've learned that the linchpin lies in investing in your most precious asset—your employees. An impressive 94% of employees express a willingness to remain loyal to a company that nurtures their professional journey, according to LinkedIn. This perspective isn't a passing trend; it marks a paradigm shift.
The Power of Employee Investment
Recognizing the pivotal role of employee growth and development, I advocate for making it a strategic priority both for clients and within my own organization. Beyond mere training sessions, employee development is a comprehensive and ongoing process that enhances individual competencies, aligns them with organizational goals, and cultivates a culture of perpetual learning and advancement. This approach benefits not only the employees but the organization as a whole.
Making Employee Development Paramount
Global surveys reveal that a significant majority of respondents consider learning pivotal for career success. Remarkably, 86% express a readiness to switch jobs for enhanced growth opportunities. This underscores the critical role of employee development in talent attraction and retention. Companies investing in people development and coaching witness a remarkable 58% surge in retention, a 24% spike in profit margins, and an impressive 250% return on investment. These statistics underline that employee development is not merely a cost but a judicious investment yielding long-term dividends.
In my experience, constructive feedback serves as a potent tool for fostering employee development. Providing insights into strengths and areas for improvement empowers employees to make informed decisions about their career trajectory. Feedback acts as a catalyst for growth, propelling employees to excel with recognition for achievements and guidance for developmental areas.
Moreover, strategically assigning teams to stretched projects proves effective in employee development. By challenging teams with tasks slightly beyond their current capacities, they are encouraged to step out of their comfort zones, acquiring new skills. Stretched projects elevate team confidence through overcoming challenges and learning from mistakes.
Employee Development: Beyond Training Courses
While training is integral to employee development, recent statistics indicate that 59% of employees are self-taught. This underscores the significance of fostering a learning culture where employees are motivated to take ownership of their development. A learning culture promotes curiosity, innovation, and collaboration, fostering an environment where employees actively seek knowledge and share insights.
Strategic Alignment for Success
Aligning employee development with organizational values and goals is paramount. When employees comprehend how their work contributes to organizational success, engagement and commitment soar. This alignment also imbues employees with a sense of purpose, understanding their positive impact on the organization and society.
Common Myths and Realities About Employee Development
Dispelling common misconceptions is vital. While some may view employee development as expensive and time-consuming, the reality is that it is an investment with measurable returns, improving performance, productivity, and customer satisfaction. Moreover, employee development is not exclusive to high-potential employees; it is pertinent for everyone, irrespective of level or tenure. Responsibility for employee development is shared among employees, managers, and the organization.
The Impact of Employee Development
Investing in comprehensive employee training programs correlates with a 218% higher income per employee. Additionally, companies witness a 17% boost in productivity when employees receive the necessary training. These figures underscore how employee development enhances work quality and efficiency.
Conclusion: Unveiling the Secret to Success
In essence, employee development is the transformative element enhancing skills, knowledge, and performance—a core aspect of human resource management. As a managerial leader, assume roles as a coach, mentor, facilitator, and cheerleader, empowering your team to drive their development. As an employee, embrace the role of a learner, performer, leader, and contributor, seizing available opportunities and challenging personal limits.
Remember, employee development is not a destination but a journey, teeming with surprises, challenges, and rewards—a unique voyage for each individual, yet shared by the entire organization.

The Stanley Parable: New Script AU
"Something had shifted in the system. Something had changed. The Narrator's struggling to maintain normalcy in his perfectly crafted story as wayward codes, random protocols, glitches and unknown entities started appearing in the parable. Now with his protagonist, Stanley and their newly acquired friends acquaintances, they try their best to comprehend the danger now the parable poses and figure out who the mastermind behind all of it."
^This is actually just a short summary of this AU. I just can't seem to verbalize everything about this since I cannot English enough the things that's brewing on my mind. I had this AU simmering in my mind since last December after discovering this game, (Yes, I know I'm a few years too late for this fandom-).
I might draw more stuff in this AU soon. Maybe a comic sometimes idk but I do have some ideas. (I still have to finish my other comics for the different fandoms I'm in tho.)
(You can comment on the post below if you wanted to ask details about this AU. Please be kind tho especially to each other!)
(also forgive me for misspelling the Curator's name ahahdgdhhd I was not aware. I was really tired skskskks-)

Danny working as a batburger employee.
And now I know that ain't the most original thing on this website, but consider;
When Danny comes into contact with food, it gains sentience.
I mean imagine the jokerized fries coming alive trying to kill each other, bc there can be only one, before seeing the real joker and immediately forming a team to take that bitch down.
Or the poison ivy salad (I think) combining their powers together to try and kill whoever bought them.
Or the batburger hiding in the shadows.
Or like literally anything you can think of.
Just Danny, tired employee, trying to convince ppl to buy normal fries, bc if he gotta deal w the joker version one more fucking time he's burning this whole place down.
Or just trying to convince the food to stay on the plate. (And stabbing it to place if necessary)
So I'm not sure if anyone thought of this, but this is my vision ✋✨✨✨✨🤚

I totally forgot how funny Vere's handler is.
Replaying the demo (finally) for the loresheets and man is this lady funny.
First off, she comes out the brothel to see Vere with his nostrils practically pressed to MC's throat and is immediately like, "For the love of GOD—"
Tumblr media
Like she's already frustrated. But frustrated in the way where you just know she's dealt with it before and she'll deal with it again. And she's all too aware of that fact.
Then Vere gives you his patent-pending Cryptic Advice, and this is what she has to say about taking tips from this particular vulpine.
Tumblr media
AND WHEN HE GIVES HER THE "SHUT THE HELL UP" LOOK?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And their exit:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
IDK anything about her, but that's fine. She can be my OC from now on (or, at least until she gets more details!)

canon verse roast lore summarized (if we can even call this a summary)
at some point while robin's touring the cosmos, sunday mentions how he's concerned about her and that she should get an assistant or something and she eventually agrees. enter me, a traveler from (redacted) that she meets shortly after she has that conversation with sunday. we chat and i mention that i've been traveling the cosmos, with the desire to see as much as i can, but sometimes it gets a little rough because i gotta pay to get around or something and she ends up asking me to be her assistant so that i can still travel and not worry as much about paying for it. it takes some convincing from her but i eventually accept.
she introduces me to sunday the next time she returns to penacony and He Is Not Happy. because he had assembled a group of candidates, all of which were very trusted and capable members of the family and instead robin chose me, some rando from god knows where that she barely knows. robin, does defend me though (by this point we have known each other for a few months), but that doesn't stop sunday from trying to intimidate me into quitting. but i grin and bear it because i like robin and rationalize that i only have to deal with the control freak siscon when we are in penacony.
so naturally he and i are not friends. we play nice in robin's presence for her sake, but otherwise... i spend as much time away from him as i can while on penacony. i think that when robin has the accident we get into an extremely heated argument and i say some things that end up improving his opinion of me. or something. LMAO. after that we clearly are still not friends but are much less hostile with one another (or more it's like sunday is less hostile toward me and i, in turn am less hostile toward him).
around the time of the charmony festival, robin's schedule calms down a lot and she tells me i can take a vacation during the preparations, and while i object initially, she insists i deserve it and that she can handle things with me gone since it's not that busy and that sunday will be there to help (i protest because sunday's sure to be busy). eventually i end up relenting, saying i'll be back at the start of the charmony festival. meaning during the events of the penacony arc i am off planet— i actually go back to (redacted) for some time. so i get to hear about sunday and everything on the news. L M A O. and it's all very insane to me. can't wrap my head around it but the first thing i do is call robin.
sometime later, robin tells me sometime later that she's thinking of going on a hiatus, which means i don't really need to attend to my duties as her assistant. but she says that, in the meantime, she can put in a good word for me to board the astral express so that i can keep traveling without worrying about expenses too much (she naturally withholds the information that sunday will also be on the train).
so i board the train and, sunday is there and i'm just like 'what the fuck' because i know robin did that on purpose and the first chance i get i call her and demand an explanation and she all but asks me to help sunday on his journey the same way i helped her and i can't ever say no to robin. so. lol.
at this point we start to actually get to know one another. since sunday is more relaxed there is way less hostility (when i find out they hit him for the train i tell them good job and they should do it again if he gets out of line). somehow i end up hanging out with sunday a fair amount but i like the rest of the ae crew a lot so i hang out with them lots too... sunday has varying opinions (feelings) about that lmao.
this is the point where all the thoughts get muddy but, and i did mention this before, march (and maybe tb) try to play matchmaker. i keep in contact with robin a lot (via text). unbeknownst to me, march is also contacting robin with regards to her matchmaking hijinks.
but where the game is currently, i go hang out with sunday and welt. welt, unfortunately has to play babysitter since sometimes sunday and i have snark-offs.

France's ministry of foreign affairs just added to its HR procedures that it will pay plane tickets for its civil servants living in countries where abortion is banned, so they can get one in France if they need it.
It's great that they thought of that... And so fucked up that it has to get to this.

I feel like now is a good time to mention that when I criticize veilguard (or any dragon age game tbh) I try to avoid putting the blame on anyone specific unless they've explicitly said they're responsible for a particular piece of writing being the way it is. I criticize the writing, I don't want to criticize the writers. They're not incompetent and I'm certain they do care about the lore of previous games. Most of the time when the writing falls short I believe it's due to studio interference or time constraints.
I have a lot of thoughts, I might post some of them eventually because it's somewhat cathartic to talk about the bigger issues i have even if no one needs to hear every little thing. But I can be mad at how the game turned out and sad for the people who worked on it and i am

What are the odds, do we think, that the muskrat--realizing that no one on either end of the political spectrum or in between likes him and he has no one to actually appeal to because he's burned all his social capital--attempts to genuinely become a literal comic book super villain and it turns out to just be kinda sad and cringy and he gets arrested immediately?
