masked apprentice with a shoulder cat what will he do (spoilers under the cut!)
so when i was initially getting into tgaa, specifically upon reaching 1-2, i had already been spoiled on two things:
kazuma survives.
kazuma is a catboy.
then during the case i got the impression that darka had Mysteriously Vanished midway through the investigation. i then proceeded to leap to several conclusions, and for a good long while i was convinced that kazuma had somehow taken darka with him and whenever he showed back up it'd be with a certain black cat in tow.
obviously that never happened, but like. what if, y'know?

Nothing boosts confidence like being the cat's favourite, when she spends the whole day in your bed or on your lap, when she refuses to sit on certain chairs unless you're in them, yeah, I'm the most loveable around here folks 😎

Ryuubowl Week - Day 6 Animals / Mascots
Cat lover’s dream. Mouse’s nightmare?
I wanted to do every prompt, but as I sketched the cats, I realize I didn’t have the fortitude to do the detailed outfits of all the mascot versions… Maybe later I will doodle the three official ones…

The Debt Headcanon
Nami is known to be a money-loving character, and she clearly went through a lot of trauma in her childhood. While she was in Arlong's crew, she learned something: that money can create an unbreakable tie between people. That money is power. Money talks, and with enough money, you could solve any problem. Nami has seen this with Arlong bribing the marines. She was even stuck with Arlong for so long because of the money she needed to earn in order to free Coco Village.
That being said, her past experiences have led her to rely heavily on money. After officially joining Luffy's crew, she may have had insecurities about keeping their friendships, as she likely didn't develop any healthy relationships with anyone since Arlong appeared in her life. The best way she knew how to keep people tied to her was, of course, through money. And this was why Nami kept tabs on her crewmates. She probably doesn't expect them to ever pay her back, as some debts are just astronomical, but it safety blankets an excuse for them to never leave her.
In this headcanon, I believe that the more debt the crew member owed to Nami, the more worried she is about losing them, and therefore, the more she cared about them. Luffy, of course, owed her a lot of money, but Zoro? The debt he owes her will never see the day of light. The man throws himself into danger's way all the time, and he's got a knack for getting terribly lost. The debt he owes her has me believe that she deeply treasures the relationship she has with him, is concerned about him leaving her (including through death or bad sense of direction), even if they spend a lot of their time bickering with each other.
Of course, we haven't seen Nami mention these debts in quite a long while now, and I'd like to believe it's because she now feels much more secure in her straw hat family! But her past has certainly shaped her to be the money-obsessed Nami we all know and love.
