Barry(or wally if you prefer) is taking a walk when he runs into a glowing green dog.(rather the dog ran into him) It seemed friendly so he started petting it, when the owner ran up to him to apologize. He brushes it off and asks why the dog is green and glowing, that can't be healthy. When he learns that Cujo is a ghost dog, he reflexively replies "ghosts don't exist"
The boy just laughed and disappeared with the dog.
Later he sees the same dog with another boy playing fetch in the sky.

masterlist
#Part 1
Pairing: Rafe Cameron x reader
Summary: The reader confronts Rafe about his past
Warnings: Straight smut, hella angst, substance, swearing, Rafe being a total dick
A/N: this one shot’s too long but i hope you will love it. i poured all my love into this however this isn’t my best work and im sorry!!
p.s, i’m always open for requests <3
“Hey! thanks for coming,” Topper smiled, hugging Rafe’s side before kissing (Y/N)’s cheeks. He ushered them both to the middle of the ongoing party, to the centre where all of Rafe’s friends were hanging out.
(Y/N) is never a fan of parties, especially the ones that she will have to tug on Rafe’s collars for them to finally enjoy the night alone. However, she passed up the chance of watching netflix with her partner tonight to go to Topper’s birthday party, since, it was, well, Topper’s celebration.
If it had not been for Topper, she wouldn’t even bat an eye to this party, especially when she knows the amount of girls silently crushing on her boyfriend of 6 months now. Rafe’s incredibly handsome, with his hair messily parted and his blue eyes shining everytime they’re exposed to the glowing sunlight of Obx. . .  (Y/N) couldn’t justify why he would even choose her.
“What are you thinking?” Rafe playfully groaned, pulling his girlfriend’s waist near him. His fingers played with the hem of her dress, giggling when she hissed, swatting his hands away. “Seriously. You’ve been quiet since we got out of the car.”
“I just don’t like the attention’s you’re getting tonight,” she sighed, rolling her eyes when Rafe poked her, an amused expression plastered on his face. “I shouldn’t have told you that. Now you’re this proud prick.”
Rafe laughed, throwing his head back, his hands still around her waist. She waited for him to regain his posture before kissing his cheeks.
“Go and find Topper. I know you want to kiss him.”
“Not as much as I want to kiss you,” Rafe replied, laughing again when (Y/N) stuck her tongue out at him before walking away to go and get some drinks for herself. In truth, Rafe doesn’t understand why she would feel so inferior towards other girls; she’s simply the most beautiful girl he’ve ever laid his eyes on. No one can ever compare to (Y/N), and that’s for sure.
(Y/N) muttered a thanks when someone handed her a beer, standing on her toes to search for her friends. When she couldn’t see any of them, she began making her way towards Rafe and Topper. She decided that instead of waiting alone in the resting area of the club while everybody else is socialising, she would rather listen to whatever Rafe and his friends were conversing, knowing that somehow she’ll find something interesting in the discussion.
That was when she bumped into a figure, causing the person to drop the drink they were holding onto her front dress. (Y/N) groaned, not liking how she was already ruining the branded new dress she bought with Rafe. The smell of strong alcohol wafted into her nostrils, causing her to scrunch her nose.
“Watch where you’re going,” the person said, and  (Y/N) rolled her eyes before finally leaving the scene, not wanting to stir any unnecessary drama. She knows it will always end up dirty and Rafe will have to calm her down in the car.
(Y/N) pushed her way through the swarm of sweaty bodies as the dress reeked with alcohol clung onto her body, and she momentarily regretted her choice of wearing a skin tight short sequin dress to a club where dropping drinks on someone is just something that is bound to happen.
She sighed when she finally reached the bathroom, quickly washing her stains with the cheap toilet paper. It left some white bits on her dress when she finally removed them, and she groaned again before washing the fabric under the running water. Her day was going totally bad, and she dreamed of the night she could’ve spent with Rafe if only Topper wasn’t born on yesterday’s date 19 years ago.
“That’s what I’m saying!” a loud voice shrieked, followed by group of shrill laughs. “God, I really wish I’m still with him.”
(Y/N) raised her brows at the familiar voice, but thought none of it. Topper wouldn’t invite Rafe’s ex, he knows what she did to him. There was no way she was allowed to be in the private part of the club, unless someone had brought her as their plus one.
(Y/N) shook her head at the thought, trying to focus on the stains that seemed to be making everything hard for her.
“He has this habit of running his fingers through his hair when he’s receiving head,” the voice continued, and  (Y/N) stopped in her tracks.
That’s exactly Rafe. Whoever the voice was, she was talking about Rafe. Rafe has this habit of running his long fingers through his hair while he’s whimpering, and it always drives (Y/N) crazy.
She thought nothing of it, thinking about the possibility of another guy doing the same thing. It’s a common thing anyways; she wasn’t going to pull the crazy jealous girlfriend card that night.
She turned to pull another tissue paper, her ears still intently listening to the group of friends who seemed to not mind receiving any attention from their bold topic.
“Now he’s with that (Y/L/N) girl. I honestly don’t get why he would be with her. Oh and-” the voice squealed, “Do you know that Rafe called me when they were talking?”
What?
“What?” her friends asked in disbelief, and  (Y/N) didn’t move a muscle. She pressed her back against the tiled walls, listening close. Her heartbeat beat faster, and she could feel her head getting lighter.
“Yes! It was like, the first month they started getting close? He told me he couldn’t get over me and that he tried everything including finding me in her.”
(Y/N) felt the walls closing in, and quickly got to her feet to splash some water onto her face. She felt like dying right then and right there, but she knew she had to at least hear more to, now identified, Rafe’s ex girlfriend.
“He drove to my house and we just talked, you know. . . and then he told me something, and I refused. He got mad, I guess, and we fought like always, and he left me to be with that girl until today. Kinda sucks to be her, you know? Like the second choice kind of thing?” she continued, an amused tone lacing in her voice.
At that point,  (Y/N) had heard enough. She walked towards the exit as fast as her heels could take her, not stopping to stay goodbye to her now approaching friends. She could feel her hot tears crashing down, but she didn’t feel like crying in the club and having random strangers coming up to her to soothe her down.
When the night breeze hit her square on the face as she finaly exited the suffocating club, she let out the hardest cry ever as she tried to find any available taxis through her tears. There were none, seeing that it was only 9 p.m. and people had just starting to arrive, so she decided to walk to nowhere until she finds any yellow vehicle.
“Hey, (Y/N)!” a voice called out from behind her, and she turned when a hand pulled her shoulder. “What the fuck? Are you okay? Where’s Rafe?”
“Kelce, I’m not feeling good. I just want to go home, okay? Please, oh my god. I can’t do this right now,” she cried, covering her eyes with her palm. Kelce pulled her into a side hug, allowing her tears on his new t-shirt. When she finally soothed down, he tried to find an answer in her face again.
“What happened?”
“I can’t tell you now, I just-” she took a deep breath, “I just can’t. Can you um, call a Uber for me, please? My phone’s with Rafe.”
“What? Why would your phone-” he sighed, taking out his own phone. “Borrow my phone. It’s safer this way. Call a Uber, get home, and don’t do anything stupid. Okay?”
(Y/N) nodded, kissing Kelce’s cheeks before ordering a Uber, waiting by the sidewalk impatiently. She was scared Rafe would come out to look for her, and she didn’t feel like talking to him.
She felt like shooting him in his ribs until he’s begging for her to stop.
When she got home, her fingers trembling and her dress now ruined, she stripped out of her clothes and got under her covers. Her mother tried asking her about why she had come home earlier than expected with a running mascara and a smudged lipstick, but decided to let it pass when she didn’t answer, knowing that something has indeed happened.
She felt like screaming. She had trusted him so much, and he was even the first guy to take her virginity. Now she felt disgusted, thinking about how she had allowed herself to the sweet words he had given her before.
She couldn’t ignore the memory of the night she first experienced sex with him, and the whole sweet care he had provided after.
It was Friday the 13th, and Rafe decided it will be a good night to watch some type of a horror movie.  (Y/N) agreed, being a fan of horror, but until one point, she was bored with the super-slow plot and boring characters.
She played with Rafe’s fingers, intertwining them with hers, before she got an idea midway of the female character’s scream that echoed throughout her bedroom.
“Rafe,” she said, and Rafe hummed in response. His eyes were fixated to the screen, not paying any attention to her. She whined, “Rafe. . .”
“Yeah?” He finally looked down to her, and laughed when he saw the face she gave him. “What the hell is wrong with you? The best part’s coming up. Watch it, the guy’s going to- fuck.”
(Y/N) had slipped her hand into his basketball shorts, teasing the outline of his v-line. Rafe’s breath shuddered, and he grabbed her hands before things escalate.
“What the fuck are you doing?” He grunted.
“I just wanna try something,” she replied innocently, and Rafe swore he felt like his heart stopping right then and right there. She was that sweet girl, and he has never saw this side of her.
“Can I?” she asked, and with a tiny nod, she continued her movements as Rafe’s eyes stayed glued on the television screen, though his mind was already on cloud nine.
She was so good, and Rafe couldn’t explain the feeling inside of him when he watched her palmed him, her mouth slightly open and her hair falling down to her shoulders. Rafe felt like attacking every inch of her, wanting to give anything that she desired.
“Stop,” he said, closing his eyes. “Fuck, you’re gonna make me cum from just your hands.”
“I want you to,” she said, and Rafe cursed. He liked, scratch that, he loved and is obsessed with the way she did anything to him, with her innocent eyes and her teasing smile. He felt like fucking her numb every single time she purposely brushed her hands against his buldge in the restaurant or bumping her bottoms against him when playing golf.
And when she would deny her actions, god, he felt like giving his all to her until she couldn’t walk.
“Rafe,” she said again, with that gint in her eyes. She leaned onto him, and he shievered when he felt her lips brushing with his earlobes.
“I want you to fuck me.”
Rafe groaned, not wanting to look her in the eyes, afraid that he would do things he will regret the next morning. He felt her fingers around his chin, forcing him to look at her.
“Please.”
“You told me you wanted to wait,” he said softly.
“I’m done waiting,” she had said, and that was enough for Rafe to crash his lips against her soft ones, pushing her lightly to her queen sized bed. He felt her hands playing with the hem of his shorts, and being an impatience fuck like his dad, he guided her hands to his already hard penis, craving for her touch.
“Fuck,” he groaned, closing his eyes to the euphoric feeling starting to form in the pit of his stomach. His fingers fumbled with her shorts, trying to untie the waistband, and grunted when he couldn’t gues the knot.
(Y/N) giggled, untying the ribbon, sliding her shorts to the edge of her bed as Rafe waited with his eyes staring at her hands eagerly, like a prey waiting to attack.
Once her shorts were off, Rafe didn’t waste anymore time to place kisses from her stomach down to the sides of her aching core.  (Y/N) couldn’t take it anymore, after so many nights of trying to picture this exact moment in her head whilst fingering herself, pretending like it has been Rafe’s fingers instead of herself, she wanted to feel him around her so bad.
“Please, Rafe,” she begged, looking at him with the innocent eyes again. She moaned when he inserted his fingers in her, pleasuring her the way pornstars would from the many porn videos his cousin had taught him to watch since he was 10 before.
“Oh my god,” she screamed, not able to comprehend the strange feeling in her stomach. She tried to close her legs, only for Rafe to gripped them apart tightly, his eyebrows furrowing.
“Do that again and I’ll leave you hanging.”
It was the way he had said that that left  (Y/N) all red, pushing herself against him to reach her end. She felt a sudden feeling approaching, and gripped Rafe’s wrist to tell him.
Rafe laughed when she had came around his dingers, feeling her juice soaking up his fingers and her bedsheet.  (Y/N) sighed, still heaving from her high, making a mental note in her head to love this other side of Rafe Cameron.
“Suck,” he said, placing his two soaked fingers in front of her face and watched her as she sucked on them like a little girl who’s licking off a lollipop that her mother had bought for her. He felt like cumming just from the sight of her face.
“I want you inside me,” she had said again, and Rafe groaned to look away, not wanting to be a regret she had made the next morning. He looked at her again when she sat on his lap, looking at him with puppy dog eyes.
“Please?” she whispered, and before he knew it, she licked his ear to the the side of his lip before placing a soft peck on his lips.
Rafe has never removed his basketball shorts as fast as he did that night, not even when he had felt an animal crawling in his pants in the pet shop when he was 8 that resulted Sarah into having a laughing fit when they found out that a hamster had gotten into his pants.
He positioned himself in front of her slit, waiting for any new demands for him to stop now that she had changed her mind. But there was nothing, only  (Y/N) demanding for him, and without wasting any more time, he slowly slided into her, strecthing her hole.
He grunted when she felt her closing in, knowing that if she kept doing that, he’ll finish straight away.  (Y/N) screamed as he fucked her with a quick pace, causing him to quickly pull her head close to him to whisper into her ear.
“Shut up, princess. Don’t want mummy and daddy to wake up, do we?”
(Y/N) shook her head, wanting to reach her end soon. She moaned against her mattress, smelling Rafe’s scent from it, and liking the way he would whimper when he hit her g-spot.
“I’m so close, baby, fuck-” he cursed, his pace getting sloppier. His fingers with his cold rings intertwined with hers as he slammed into her for good measure, and pulling out to aim on her face as she tried to regain her breath.
(Y/N)  felt a shot of hot load landing on her face as she finally looked up to him, his sweaty chest heaving from the ungodly practice they just did. Rafe groaned, feeling himself getting hard again from the sight of her with his load all over her, and quickly turned away to grab a clean towel to clean her up.
That night, with a soft lullaby playing from  (Y/N)’s record player that Rafe had bought for her in Italy, he ran his fingers through her hair as she snuggled close, watching the moonlight brightened the ocean.
Rafe sighed, now wrapping his arms around her, forcing himself to not touch her breast in any way. “I’m sorry if it wasn’t what you had pictured in your mind.”
“Are you kidding?” she turned to face him, “God, Rafe. That’s exactly how I wanted it with you.”
Rafe chuckled and placed a soft kiss on her forehead, “God. I love you.”
“I love you too.”
Riing! Riing!
(Y/N) wiped her tears with her fingers before pressing on the green button, bringing the phone to her ears when she saw Topper’s name. She decided that he deserved an explanation after she had ran off from his birthday party.
“Tops?”
“Hey, baby, you didn’t pick up my call. I have to use Topper’s phone but, um-”  (Y/N) heard the crowd sang happy birthday, “But um, are you okay? Kelce told me you were crying and I-”
“I’m fine. You should sing happy birthday to Topper.”
“I’ll be there in a bit,” he said to a voice in the background, and tried to talk to her again. “What is it, baby? The line’s kinda shitty here. Are you okay?”
“I’m fine.”
“Okay. I know you’re not. Can you please tell me what happened?”
“It’s nothing, Rafe. Go and enjoy yourself.”
“God,  (Y/N), don’t pull this shit on me,” he sighed, and she waited until the background noise lessen. “Okay, I’m at the smoking area. Can you please tell me what happened?”
“You used me.”
“I’m - what?” he asked, “What the fuck are you talking about?”
“I heard her talking about how you drove to see her and you told her that you tried finding her in me,” she finaly confessed, her voice breaking. A tear slowly rolled down her red cheeks and she quickly wiped them away.
“Baby, it’s not how it sounds like.”
“Then what is it?” she yelled, clutching onto Kelce’s phone like it was her life support. “Fuck, Rafe, I gave you my everything.”
“Baby, I swear, it’s just-”
(Y/N) waited for him to finish his sentence, and sucked in a breath when she heard the voice that had caused her this misery.
“Rafe! What are you doing here?”
“Fuck,  (Y/N), I’ll come by to your house, okay? Please, don’t do anything stupid, I’m coming back home-”
(Y/N) pressed the end call, letting go of the breath she was holding before finally throwing her head back against the pillow.

You wake with the sun as it shines through your curtains, a thin stream of light that so unfortunately hits you right in the eyes. With a soft groan, you rub the sleep from your eyes and roll from your side onto your back. Your foot knocks against something heavy, and you startle as it falls to the ground with a loud thud. Your suitcase.
“Fuck,” you curse, letting out a huff of air.
After giving yourself a few more seconds to just lie there, you push yourself up and out of bed. The ache from last night lingers still, making any movement just a bit more difficult. Your sleep, though deep and dreamless, was still not quite enough to fend off the physical exhaustion of dealing with your own emotions. But you won’t allow yourself to lie in bed all day wallowing in your own self-pity.
Once you’re standing, you look down at the packed suitcase on the floor, scowling at it for just a second. It needs to be unpacked and everything needs to go back to its place, but you elect to leave it for later. Instead, you trudge out of your room and into the bathroom just down the hall. You hope that maybe a shower will loosen up your muscles and give you the energy that you need for the day.
You flip the light on, shaking your head as you catch sight of yourself in the mirror above the sink. There’s dried mascara down your cheeks and all around your eyes. Your hair is tangled and sticking out at odd angles. To call your appearance haggard would be kind.
You sigh softly and turn around. The rings of the shower curtain scrape across the metal rod as you pull it closed. You wince at the sound, reaching in and turning on the hot water. While the water heats up, you undress yourself, leaving your clothes in a heap on the floor. You’ll worry about getting the apartment cleaned up once you’ve washed away the remnants of last night.
By the time you step into the shower, the heat is already starting to fog up the mirror. A sigh of relief escapes your lips as you step under the hot spray. Already you can feel the tension seeping out of your body, flowing down the drain with the water. You close your eyes, giving yourself this moment to unwind. It’s the least you can afford yourself after seeing Javier again.
You reach out with one hand, bracing yourself against the shower wall as your encounter with him from yesterday plays back in your mind. The same panic begins to creep into your chest, but is soon replaced by anger.  “It’s...It’s been a while,” he’d said. It makes your blood boil. Ten years and that was the only thing he could think to say to you. And then he’d had the nerve to call you querida, as if you’d still be his sweetheart after what he’d done.
You’ll see him at the wedding. It’s a bitter truth that you have to come to terms with and a troubling thought you would rather not dwell on. If it weren’t a Peña family wedding, you would just stay home. But no matter how much you hate the idea of being around Javier and subjecting yourself to the gossip that will inevitably follow, you won’t neglect such an important occasion.
You stand up straight again when you feel the water beginning to cool, and you make relatively quick work of getting yourself cleaned up. After shutting off the water, you pull the curtain back and step out of the shower, wrapping yourself in the towel hanging over the bar on the wall. You feel better, lighter now that you’ve gotten to freshen up and rouse yourself.
Damp feet padding gently across the floor, you go back to your bedroom, dressing yourself in a pair of jeans and a shirt, something comfortable enough to wear while you do some work around the apartment. You then haul the suitcase back onto your bed and unzip it. The clothes and other various items you’d stuffed in there come almost spilling out and you shake your head.
You start with your clothes, hanging your shirts back up and folding other garments to be put back in their respective drawers. Once that’s done, you take another pile of things to be put back in your desk. Before long, the suitcase is empty and stored back underneath your bed.
Now that you’ve given yourself a place to start, you carry on putting your bedroom back together. As things return to their rightful places, you find yourself oddly soothed. It’s calming to restore order in any way that you can.
This is one thing that you have complete control over.
Javier sits on the back porch steps of his father’s house, sipping silently at the beer in his hand. It’s barely the afternoon, but he doesn’t care. He hardly slept last night, and what little sleep he did get was restless, plagued by the images of your face twisted in anger and the sound of your voice, a clear warning to him as if the look in your eyes hadn’t been enough. He knows he screwed up—in more ways than one. But when brought face-to-face with you again for the first time since he left, his mind went blank. He’d said the first words that came to him, though they were just about the worst thing he could have come up with.
Behind him, the door opens and shuts again, and the wooden boards creak beneath his father’s footsteps. “¿Estás bien, mijo? Has estado muy callado hoy,” Chucho says, and Javier doesn’t even turn to face the older man as he speaks. Instead, he takes another long sip from the bottle in his hand.
“No me dijiste que estaba en pueblo,” he answers flatly.
Chucho sighs, settling himself in his rocking chair. “No ha estado de regreso por mucho tiempo. She got rejected from a publisher in Washington,” he answers gently.
Javier shakes his head. He’d once held the privilege of being able to read the things you wrote. Back then, he didn’t see how you would ever struggle to be a published author, and he’s sure that through the years you’ve only improved upon your writing skills. "Yo la ví, Papá." She...She hates me,” he finally breathes, and he feels his chest swelling with a grief he knows he shouldn’t feel. You have every right to hate him. It’s his own fault.
“¿Hablaste con ella?,” his father asks.
Javier hangs his head, putting his beer down on the step. “No me dejó hablar con ella. Lo intenté." Part of him wishes that he would have followed you out of Anita’s store, but he knows that wouldn’t have ended well.
“Ella estará en la boda de Danny,” Chucho says, and Javier’s head snaps up. He turns to look at his father in disbelief. Surely you won’t show up now, not when you know that he’s in town. You want nothing to do with him. You’ve made that abundantly clear and Javier doesn’t blame you for even a second. “Tal vez ella va a hablar contigo entonces,” his father continues.
Javier is quiet for a moment. He considers what might happen if he were to approach you. The last thing he wants to do is cause a scene, but like he told you, he needs you to understand what happened all those years ago. Even if it doesn’t change anything, you still deserve to know why he left you the way he did.
“Eso espero,” he whispers, taking another long drink from his beer and wishing that it were something much stronger.
You suck in a deep breath as you walk up the front stairs of the little white church. As you step inside, you realize that you haven’t been here since your own wedding, not even for a regular church service. It’s almost unnerving to be back, but you brush off your own discomfort. The ceremony won’t be long.
You pause in the foyer for just a moment, looking back down the hall where the dressing room is. You know Danny’s bride is back there, preparing for one of the best days of her life. Just like you had been so many years ago. The only comfort you find is knowing that today won’t end with the same heartbreak.
Before you can dwell on it any longer, you feel a gentle, warm hand on your shoulder. A genuine smile graces your lips as you turn and see Javier’s father.
“Mijita,” he greets you, pulling you into a gentle hug. You close your eyes for a moment, suddenly feeling much more calm than you had just seconds ago. Chucho has always been soothing that way, ever since you and Javier were just little kids running around on the ranch. You’ve always felt safe with him.
“How have you been, Pops? I haven’t seen you in forever,” you say, your smiling brightening at the fatherly kiss he pecks to your cheek. He releases you then, reaching up to straighten the signature Stetson that he wears.
His hands go to his hips as he stands in front of you. It’s no secret where Javier picked the habit up from. “I’ve been just fine, mijita. I was sorry to hear about the publisher in Seattle,” he replies. You feel a bit of heat come to your cheeks then. It never ceases to amaze you just how many people your parents manage to tell about your shortcomings with your novels.
You shake your head, letting out a soft breath. “It’s alright. It just meant I got to come back home. It’s nice to see everyone here,” you tell him, and you mean it. You’ve always enjoyed being around for Peña family events. There’s never a dull moment and you always seem to have the best time.
Chucho nods in agreement, though his expression softens. There’s compassion in his eyes as he looks into yours. “We’re all happy you’re here. It means a lot that you came,” he says. He then takes one of your hands in both of his. “I know it’s not easy...being in this place and having him back home.”
“Did he tell you we ran into each other?,” you whisper, glancing over his shoulder. Sure enough, Javier is standing right outside the door, talking to his aunt.
“He told me he saw you, and that you wouldn’t let him talk to you,” Chucho replies, though his tone is still gentle, not at all scolding you for the reaction you’d had.
Your gaze falls to the floor. You don’t know how much you want to tell Chucho, even though you know he’d never say a word to Javier about any of it if you didn’t want him to. “I just… Pops, I can’t…” You trail off, knowing that now is not the time to explore your feelings about seeing Javier again.
Chucho squeezes your hand gently, shaking his head. “You don’t have to explain to me, mijita. I understand. Just...know that he wants to make things right. Even if the only thing he can do is explain himself,” he tells you. The words send a pang through your chest. You’re still not ready to hear that explanation. You’ve spent ten years trying to come up with a reason for Javier to abandon you. And even after so long, you don’t think your heart has prepared itself for the truth.
He must see the panic welling up in your eyes. “You don’t have to do anything that you’re not ready to. It’s alright,” he assures you.
Luckily, music begins to float into the foyer from the sanctuary, saving you from having to say much else. “You’re right,” you breathe. “But that’s something to worry about later,” you say, forcing a smile. Chucho lets go of your hands then, allowing you to follow the rest of the guests that have begun to file into the other room.
“Thank you,” you tell him.
He just smiles and tips his hat.
The wedding was a beautiful, quiet affair. You’re glad that you went, despite having every reason not to. It was good for you to see that happy endings still exist, even if you haven’t managed to get to your own quite yet.
There’s a small group of guests that make the short walk to the reception hall together. You join them, conversing about the ceremony and all the lovely details. Each breath comes a little easier than the last as you distance yourself from the church. By the time you do make it to the reception hall, you’re ready to have a good time. And so long as the Peñas are involved, you know that you will.
You step inside the building, feeling a rush of cool air wash over you. The air conditioning is a welcome change to the outside heat wave. The festivities have already begun, and you smile when you see everyone dancing and mingling and enjoying the good food that Javier’s aunts had most certainly spent forever making. You head over to the long stretch of tables yourself, your stomach rumbling in anticipation.
As you fill your plate, you chat with another one of the cousins, Luis, who moves down the opposite side, briefly catching up with each other. There’s not a single mention of Javier, which you’re grateful for. Luis invites you to sit at the same table as his family, and you follow, taking a seat next to his young boy.
Not long after you sit, however, you begin to feel a pair of eyes on your back. You don’t have to look behind you to know that it’s Javier. You’d made a point to sit far behind him and Chucho at the wedding, but there is no escape from his gaze here.
For a short while, you’re able to sit peacefully and ignore Javier’s stare burning into your back. But the feeling is unrelenting, and though you try to keep a conversation with Luis and his wife, it’s not enough to distract you forever. Eventually, you stand from the table, excusing yourself. You take your plate over to one of the trash cans, disposing of it before you head for the door, just needing a moment to clear your head.
You finally steal a glance in Javier’s direction. Sure enough, his eyes are trained on you.
You turn your back on him immediately, heading out the same door you entered from.
The sun hits right in your face as you step outside. To escape the heat, you go down the walkway to the corner of the building where the shade tree is. You find immediate relief under the broad green leaves.
You take in a deep breath, but just before you can let it all out, you hear him call your name.
“Goddamn it,” you mutter to yourself.
You turn around to watch as Javier walks towards you. There’s no hesitation in his steps, but you do see apprehension in his eyes as he comes closer. He stops just a few feet away from you, his hands on his hips as he looks at you.
“Don’t do this here, Javier,” you warn. “Go back inside and enjoy your cousin’s wedding reception.”
He narrows his eyes. “What? Are we both supposed to just pretend that the other doesn’t exist while you mingle with my family?,” he asks. You feel your anger spike at his words.
You take a quick step forward, your finger pointed at his chest. “Watch it, Peña. Just because we never got married doesn’t mean that they’re not my family too. They’ve certainly been more present in my life than you have,” you seethe, appalled that he would even insinuate that you aren’t just as much part of the family as he is.
He huffs in frustration, raking his fingers through his hair. “Fuck. That wasn’t...That wasn’t what I meant,” he sighs. “I just meant that we can’t keep doing this. You won’t even look at me.”
“Yeah, well, did you ever think that maybe I don’t want to?,” you retort.
“Can we please just talk about this?,” he pleads.
“No.”
“Why?”
“Because I don’t care anymore, Javi. We’re just another notch on each other’s bedposts, okay?” It’s a lie. Every word is a lie that burns on its way out, but you have to tell him something—anything—that will get him to leave you alone and go back inside.
He laughs bitterly. He can see right through you. He’s always been able to. “That’s a fucking lie and you know it. You wouldn’t act like this if you didn’t care,” he bites back.
“Please just go back inside,” you say, your voice dropping to a near-whisper. Your tone suddenly lacks any force as you lose the will to keep this argument going.
His arms drop loosely to his sides. His shoulders fall from where they’d been so tense and straight. “Lo siento,” he breathes, bringing one hand up to grip his shoulder for a moment. “I’ll go,” he murmurs, turning around and heading back into the reception hall.
You turn away from the building, closing your eyes for a moment to fend off another wave of emotions. This isn’t the time or the place for it.
After you’ve composed yourself, you too return to the festivities. But when you walk back inside, you notice that mixed in with the music and laughter, there are a lot of glances in your direction followed by hushed whispers. Many others look between you and Javier as they talk amongst themselves. You already know what they’re saying. They’ve been saying a lot of the same things for ten years. Your wedding day went down infamously in Laredo’s history.
It takes you just a second to decide that it’s time for you to go. You won’t take the attention away from Danny and his new bride. Your eyes search the room for Chucho, and you let out a soft breath of relief when you see that Javier is not with him.
He stands as you walk over to him. Just like Javier, he can read you like a book. “I’m sorry he upset you, mijita,” he says, but you shake your head. You won’t have Chucho apologizing for Javier’s behavior or the emotions that you feel so intensely.
“I’m just gonna go, Pops. Give the bride and groom my love for me,” you reply.
Chucho smiles sadly at you, but nods in understanding. He takes his thumb, gently lifting your chin so that you’re looking him straight in the eye. “Always keep your head up, mijita,” he murmurs soothingly.
His words cause tears to spring to your eyes, but you manage a smile for his sake. “Te quiero, Pops,” you whisper.
“Te quiero mucho, my girl,” he tells you.
Javier is silent as he sits in the passenger seat of his father’s truck, his elbow against the door and his head leaning against his closed fist. It’s dark now, and he chooses to focus on the beams of the headlights on the road. He can feel his father’s gentle gaze every few seconds. It’s only a matter of time before he speaks.
“I already know what you’re going to say,” Javier finally says, relenting to his father’s silent pressing. He’s tired. He doesn’t really have the energy for this conversation, but it’ll happen anyway even if he doesn’t initiate it.
“No you don’t,” Chucho replies. He turns down a dead-end road, one that Javier recognizes all-too-well. He’s not at all surprised when the truck comes to a stop. Javier sighs, settling further back into the seat and turning to look the older man in the eye.
“No sé qué hacer. No quiere hablar conmigo,” he admits. He closes his eyes, running a hand roughly down his face.
“La lastimaste, Javier.”
“Lo sé, Papá.”
“No,” he says more forcefully, “no sabes.”
“Well maybe if she’d talk to me I would understand,” Javier snaps, though he immediately regrets the short loss of his temper. He knows that his father doesn’t mean to anger him.
Chucho sighs. “She’s spent so long trying to forget. And here you are, when she leasts expects it. And the first thing you do is demand to talk to her.”
“You told me to talk to her,” Javier counters.
“No. I said maybe she would talk to you.” He sighs at the correction, knowing that there is certainly a difference.
Javier huffs softly, shaking his head. “Well, we both know that’s not going to happen.” He has no faith that he’ll ever be able to fix things with you, no matter how much he wants to.
“Ten years is a long time, my son. What you did...time couldn’t heal that. I’ll never forget that day as long as I live…,” his father starts, and Javier feels his chest constrict as his father trails off. He’s gone this long without knowing what happened the day he left. He doesn’t want to hear about it now.
“Por favor, Papá. No lo hagas,” he pleads.
Chucho pays him no mind, continuing anyway. “I was the one to tell her you were gone. And at that time I didn’t know that you had left for Colombia. I wouldn’t find that out until I got back to the house that night. I held her while she cried, Javier. While she sobbed and begged to know what she’d done to make you leave.” There’s a sad, wistful look in the old man’s eyes as he relives the memory.
Javier is quiet for some time, letting the words sink into his heart and pull him down in that dark state of mind he’s known too well since the day he left Laredo. He doesn’t want to think about you that way. He doesn’t want to imagine you in that kind of pain, especially not the pain that he caused you. It’s too much for him to bear.
“Ella nunca me va a perdonar por eso.” His words are hardly audible. He hangs his head, looking down at the floorboards of the truck.
His father shrugs. “Ella podría. These things take time, Javier. You can’t expect it to be better overnight,” Chucho replies, offering some hope even when mending the rift seems like a hopeless endeavor.
Javier crosses his arms over his chest, not believing that there is any chance. “It doesn’t matter. I’ll be gone soon, anyway, and then she won’t have to worry about it.” He looks out the front of the truck then, watching the trees sway gently in the night wind.
“Ah, si. Huyendo de vuelta a Colombia,” his father muses.
“No estoy huyendo,” Javier shoots back defensively. He sits up straight in his seat again, his shoulders squared.
“Tal vez no, pero lo estás usando como un escape.” As much as he wants to, he can’t deny his father’s words. He’s right, just like he always is.
“We have to take down Cali,” he responds instead.
Chucho shakes his head, putting a gentle hand on Javier’s shoulder. It makes him relax just the slightest bit. “Eso no es una vida, mijo. Colombia ya te ha cambiado lo suficiente. Tú no eres el hombre que eras antes de irte,” he says.
He’s right about that too, but Javier would rather stare death in the face a thousand times than see the hurt in your eyes once more.
“Yo sé,” he whispers.

SUMMARY: an au in which two people run into each other after 5 years but they aren't the same people they used to be...
PAIRING: mafia leader!johnny x teacher/single mom! reader
GENRE: angst, suggestive themes, and some smut.
WARNING(S): this isn’t fully written ok this is a unfinished piece i did like almost two years ago so its kinda bad and skips around but i wanted to post it anyways lmao, swearing, slight smut but it’s more of like a flashback of when it happened(?)
WORD COUNT: 2797
"okay everyone, class dismissed," you announced, smiling.
the class, individually, walked out of the classroom. your assistant and best friend, qian kun, stood by the door to say goodbye to the students. some said goodbye to you too, some didn't. you were too tired to notice who said what. you did notice your favorite two students walk in once everyone left.
one of two being mark lee. mark has been one of your students for the past 3 four years. you didn't know many of your students' personal lives but he had a public reputation. he's a member of the biggest motorcycle club in all of south korea. you didn't know much about the gang but you heard the roar of the motorcycles go by your apartment everyday. mark's feared by everyone here... except yourself, kun, and lucas. you all knew he was too much of a goofball to really hurt anyone. then there was lucas. he's the same age as mark so you had him as a student for 3 years too. he was taller than mark and a lot more scarier. the 6'0 young man was a selective mute who glared at everyone who even glanced at him. lucas gained a reputation as fighter in his freshman year after he nearly beat a senior to death when he was being made fun of. the next day, lucas walked in with mark sporting matching leather jackets with NCT stitched across the back. when kun came in two years ago, lucas tried to scare him off. luckily, kun wasn't the kind of person to be easily scared. they were both chinese, shy but had horrible tempers. after a heart to heart with him, he let his guard down around you and kun.
“you look horrible,” lucas said once he fully looked at you.
mark slapped his shoulder, “she doesn’t look horrible... the bags under her eyes do.
"leave her alone guys... they're designer bags." kun joked, making the two boys laugh.
"i'm convinced you all hate me." you said playfully, undoing your hair.
it had been pinned into a tight bun all day, giving you a headache. you also kicked off your heels as well - the daily ritual after school.
"i don't get how you deal with kids all day." mark questioned taking out his homework.
"you're one of those kids i have to deal with all day."
he rolled his eyes, "not me... i don't count. you love me."
"yeah yeah, back to work." you smiled, as you began to plan for the next day.
that's how you spent your afternoons. the four of you would stay after school until your daughter got out of school too. lucas and mark doing homework and projects while kun and yourself planned what you would teach next. if they wanted to talk or vent to you, they would... especially lucas.
the two hours went by and you were now walking out the school.
"you two need a ride?" kun offered them.
lucas shook his head and nodded towards the parking lot. you turned around seeing a small group of bikers staring back at you.
"o-oh." you stuttered.
you couldn't see their faces clearly due to face masks and sunglasses but you were intimidated. three tall, muscular men with motorcycles staring at you was not something you’re used to. they both said goodbye before walking towards the group.
"i couldn't even see their eyes but it still feels like the one in front was staring into my soul,” you mumbled to kun as you walked to his car.
he shrugged casually, "maybe he was."
"kun, this isn't funny."
"relax", kun pulled you closer, "they have a bad reputation but they're not randomly going to jump you or kill you. they go after those who cause problems or mess with them. you're innocent… well some nights you are."
you ignored the smirk on his face and got into his car. kun's apartment was right next to yours. he's heard your moans and screams plenty of times due to your previous relationship. he swore he wasn't that bothered by it but it was still embarrassing.
"kun?" you turned towards him, “what are you doing later?”
he thought for a moment, "well... we still have to finish wednesday's lesson plan. so i will be over to cook my god-daughter dinner and then we're going to work."
you let out a long, dramatic sigh as you got out the car. it was going to be a long night.
•••
the next day was uneventful. classes were boring and you wanted to leave. you loved teaching. it's always been your dream job but some days, you craved a vacation.
you currently didn't have a class right now so you were printing notes of today’s lessons. the door opened slightly, making you sit up. it was only kun.
"so you have a visitor." he said, with an unsure look on his face.
"why the face? who is it?"
"it's one of those bikers from yesterday. apparently he's also legally lucas's guardian." kun admitted.
lucas' guardian? you both knew lucas never mentioned his parents but you didn't assume he was adopted either.
"you can send him in. i'll be okay."
kun nodded before disappearing again. you closed your eyes and took a deep breath. you were nervous. why did he want to meet with you? was it strictly about lucas?
a knock on the door made you sit up again. the door opened and it was the last person you ever expected to see.
johnny smirked slightly, "hey, y/n.”
"oh you have got to be kidding me." you mumbled to yourself.
johnny seo. a man you met back in your hometown of chicago. his mother lived next door to your family. you remembered her telling you that her son was finally coming home. when you saw the then 20 year old man, you knew he was trouble. yet you were still so eager to trust him and give yourself away. but that was five years ago. back when you were in college. back when you were dumb and naive. back when you fell in love for the first time.
back before he left you pregnant without a word.
"i came here yesterday to pick lucas and mark and i was very surprised to see you walk out with them." johnny said as he walked closer to you.
"there is no way this is happening right now." you laughed but there was no humor in your voice.
johnny ignored your remarks and openly checked you out, "you look as beautiful as ever... how've you been?"
you scoffed and looked up at him fully for the first time since he walked in. he looked as beautiful as ever too. his hair was longer and lighter than it used to be. he was more fit and had a few more tattoos. those beautiful brown eyes were what changed the most. they were much colder and didn't hold that same sparkle that they used to.
"i don't know why my well-being should concern you but as lucas' guardian, you should focus on mentioning him." you said, folding your hands gently in your lap.
johnny leaned on your desk, "mark always mentioned a ms. y/n that him and lucas stayed after school with and i just knew it couldn't have been you... i should've known though. y/n isn't a common name here. you always talked about how much you wanted to be a teacher and help kids and how much you wanted to come to seoul."
"if you're not here about lucas, you can leave, mr. seo." you stated before getting up.
this whole situation was insane. you never thought you’d run into johnny again. your life was going great. now all of the sudden, he's in your classroom, making your heart beat out of your chest. you erased the chalkboard and wrote the date in the top right corner. when you turned back around, johnny's arms trapped you against the board.
"why are you ignoring me like this?" johnny mumbled.
"there's nothing i have to say to you anymore. when you have to talk about lucas, then i'll talk to you." you said, pushing him away.
he sighed, "i want to talk about us, sweetheart. lucas is 21. he can handle himself. as far as i know, his grades are good. well, that's what mark tells me. that kid doesn't even talk."
you raised an eyebrow, "he doesn't talk to you?"
"no, he only talks to mark... does he talk to you?"
"yeah," you held back a laugh, "looks like i have more of a connection with your gang than you do and you're the leader."
johnny shrugged, "you might have more of a connection with mark and lucas than i do... but you and i have a better connection than anybody."
"had... had a connection. a one-sided one at that."
"i cared about you. just not how you cared about me. i never loved you. you were just supposed to be a fling. although i will admit i called my mom to see how you and the baby were doing. crying into your pillow for two weeks? that's a little pathetic, don't you think?" he asked, leaning against the board.
"fuck you, johnny. you left me. how was i supposed to feel?"
"i told you. you meant nothing to me."
"obviously if you left me as soon as i said i was pregnant." you whispered but you knew he heard you.
the door opened, making both of your heads look towards it. kun.
"am i interrupting something?" kun asked, setting a pack of papers on his desk.
"no, i was just leaving." johnny announced as he walked towards the door, "see you soon, sweetheart.”
as soon as johnny left, you let out a big sigh.
"what the hell happened?" kun asked as he began to separate the papers.
"that man... was johnny as in the same johnny who left me in chicago... jasmine's father."
kun knew everything. being that you only had three friends, two of them being your students, you told him your life story.
"no way... did you know he was that motorcycle president back there?"
you shook your head, "when i first met him in chicago, people around the city had warned me that he was no good. that he only came back to chicago to avoid getting into trouble in korea. i didn't know he was in a motorcycle club at all. i was too blind to see all that."
"too blind because your face was being pushed into his pillow?" kun slyly asked.
you scoffed, "keep stapling papers, qian."
your mind flashed back to what johnny said before he left...
see you soon, sweetheart.
•••
johnny sighed for the nth time this evening. he couldn't get you out of his head now. the woman he thought he left for good. when he met in you in your shared hometown, he thought you were perfect for his needs- beautiful and naive as fuck. you were a really good person. really nice, caring, the total package. he ruined that... almost every night. you didn't deserve that. you didn't deserve for johnny to ruin your innocence just for you to fall in love and have him leave months later.
one day you told johnny you were pregnant. the next day, he was on a plane back to south korea. johnny wondered how the kid was doing. she or he would be about 5 years old. maybe 6. did they look like him? did they look more like you? were they a perfect combination of you both?
"why the fuck am i thinking about this shit now? i didn't give a fuck before." johnny mumbled to himself.
it was roughly 12:30am. johnny wondered if you were still the night owl he remembered you to be. most of that coming from when he used to keep you up all night. he wondered if you’d been with anyone since him. who was he kidding? you were gorgeous and your body was perfect. you could easily have men crawling at the sight of you. the thought of another man touching you bothered johnny. he knew no one could make you feel like he did though. you always felt so tight and wet around him…mouth always ready to take him whenever he asked… the sinful screams and scratches when he’d fuck you real good. johnny could feel himself getting hard at the thought.
he got up and headed out the door. he knew he would end up regretting this later...
•••
you gasped when you opened the door, "johnny, what the fuck are you doing here?"
"i told you that i was going to see you soon,” johnny said quietly as he took in your appearance.
you crossed your arms, "when you said soon, i didn't think it'd be a day later. i also didn't think it would be at 1:38am... or at my house."
"maybe i missed you,” he smirked slightly.
"bullshit. seriously johnny, why are you here? how'd you even know where i live?"
"let me in and i'll tell you."
you looked up into his eyes before opening the door further. johnny smiled at you as he walked in.
"okay, so answer my questions." you demanded walking into the kitchen area.
"i am here because i was thinking about you." he admitted, staring at the marble counter.
"thinking about me for what?"
"well... i was actually i was thinking about how it felt to be inside of you then i got hard and decided to visit you."
you rolled your eyes, "at least you're being honest now."
"what do you mean 'now'? i was honest before." johnny questioned, slightly offended.
"no, you weren't johnny... not to me."
"i couldn't be honest to you. what did you want me to say? 'hey i'm only here until it’s clear for me to go back home. i killed a few people and had to lay low in chicago. you're a beautiful woman and all. i love hanging out with you but i love fucking you more. don't get attached though because i'm going to leave you.' is that what you wanted me to say?" he asked.
you threw your hands in the air, "yes! i would've loved to hear that. it would have saved me from heartbreak and trust issues. i was 20 and naive but if you told me that you just wanted a fuck buddy, then i wouldn't have gotten attached and i definitely would've kept condoms around!"
johnny looked taken back. he’s never seen you this mad before.
"who the fuck are you yelling at?” his words sounded cold but he was more intrigued than mad.
"i'm not yelling at you. i am talking loud. i'm tired of you already and it's only been two days! when you left, i blamed myself, wondering what i did wrong. i was stressed about having to carry a child for nine months and raise it all while being a full-time college student. it was your fault johnny! you and your shit communication skills!" you ranted, breathing heavily.
"momma." a small voice called out.
johnny’s head quickly turned towards the door. your little girl was standing there in a matching pj set. just one look at her and anyone could tell she was johnny’s daughter. you could see that jasmine had his eyes, nose and lips but had your hair and skin tone. your daughter was beautiful.
"yes, baby?" you replied softly, "did i wake you?"
"a little... who's he?" jasmine asked.
johnny crouched down to her level, "i- i'm johnny. your... mother's friend."
she tilted her head at him, "i'm 5 but i'm not stupid. you're my daddy. you look just like me."
"if anything, you look just like me." johnny corrected her.
"nope! you copied me first!" she shot back,
"wait. momma, you're crying."
johnny turned around to see you quickly wiping your tears away.
"i'm fine, jasmine, go and lay back down okay?”
she nodded and skipped off into her room.
johnny cleared his throat, “i know you don’t want to hear this… but i have to be in her life, y/n. i know that i fucked up but she deserves to have a father in her life.”
you scoffed, “wow. now the mafia leader wants to tell me what MY daughter needs. that’s funny.”
“it’s OUR daughter and you know i’m right.”
he was right. you didn’t want your daughter to grow up without her father, but you’d never admit that to him. you knew all the trouble being in the mafia brought to johnny and you feared the same thing would happen to your little girl.

Tumblr media
You were fierce, everyone knew. Even those who haven't even seen you and your tricks in-person feared when you attended school. Although you were known to play tricks,  rough-house, and start problems with the other kids who didn't even bother attending school or pursue their actual desires- you had one and was determined to make it come true one way or another. But unfortunately, you were pretty dim compared to the students who roamed the hallways, it never stopped you, Today you decided on approaching your math teacher since she was surprisingly the only one who cheered you on with your aspirations,
"So...I'm passing three of my four courses this semester!?" You eagerly questioned the woman in front of you, "Yes, you are" confirmed with the recent grade updates, you sigh in relief knowing you were passing most of your classes with satisfying marks, so you made your way to the exit.
However, she pulled you back down to your seat. "You're failing Science Y/n," she added pointing at the 34, "Well I don't even know what's happening in there, how can I pass in such a short time?"
Tumblr media
He stared out the window of the Science lab. He had plans after school, "Jisung? Park Jisung?" an unfamiliar teacher called from the door frame; his attention was mainly towards the girl behind her which sent shivers down his spine.
"Can you meet me in Room 284 after school?" Of course not, he's finally scored a fucking date with Lee Jieun one of the prettiest and popular girls of the junior division, he looked over to Jieun in the back of the class who was listening in on your conversation along with everybody else in the classroom, she looked disappointed but nodded permitting him to ditch their date, he smiled apologetically at the girl before focusing his attention to the door,
"Sure."
Tumblr media
Knocks were heard from the door which made your busy teacher who was marking work signal you to go open the entrance to this quite cold classroom. Roughly around 5'11 probably 6'0 boy is wearing a worn-out white shirt, with a navy blue blazer, pants and a poorly tied tie. His attire was mandatory but his hair was unique, rocking pink-brown hair was not something you see every day unless they were idols. The sun shined passed the windows onto the boy making his rosewood hair turn into a more dark salmon colour. "Jisung!" Your Math teacher chirped to the boy pulling out a chair next to yours indicating you two to sit back down. She took a good two minutes out of your time to finish up on marking and organizing the sheets sprawled across the desk, you and Jisung just sat in silence. In all honestly, Jisung was shitting himself. You and the reputation you had here were most definitely the reason why. Shifting his position every ten seconds, the occasional glances to you, and bouncing his leg. Finally, she turned her attention to the pair in front of her, "So you two are probably really confused."she stated looking at Jisung, then you."Poor Y/n here, my favourite student-"She pauses looking at you with a smile and towards Jisung who looked confused on how,"which is surprising to the staff apparently which I have no idea how...she hasn't been...rebellious in a few weeks since she's trying to pass before the summer break."Clasping her hands together she looks up at you two, "Jisung I need you to tutor Y/n until she gets her final grade in." When I tell you his eyes widened enough for you to see the wrinkles on his forehead form, you did. You smiled accepting the help but it quickly seeing his distressed self, "Are you okay? Do you not want to tutor me?"You asked, and it was your first time ever speaking to the boy he never expected you to sound so soft and gentle; predicting beforehand that you had a rough deeper voice. His facial expression softens slightly at your hopeful gaze piercing through him- hoping he'd tutor you, cause frankly, you needed it more than anyone in your division at this point (Maybe you're being a little selfish but who cares.). Jisung was sitting in his seat, zoned out, probably processing all this. It took him a minute, but he finally looked up from fiddling with his fingers. "Oh Of course I will! I can do Wednesdays after school and Saturday around noon?"It was pretty shocking how confident he sounded ordering you around that second- which made the teacher grin at the shy boy's sudden dominance. Chuckling a little with a small smile plastered on your face you say "Works perfectly, I'll be leaving now. Bye Ms.," You said jolting up grabbing your backpack walking towards the door, but before you leave you gotta leave a nice impression on the boy plus its rude to not say goodbye isn't it.
"Goodbye Jisung Park."
Tumblr media
It was Tuesday and Jisung was sitting in the Music room during lunch eating and catching up on his Health papers when you walked in. This was your usual spot in the late spring when you needed AC and a place to lay down. On a regular day for Jisung, he'd be in the front of the school on the bench working however it was too hot for him today so he opted to break into the already unlocked classroom to eat and study in. Sitting on top of the sink counter you lean to open a window pulling out a cigarette, you came here to smoke and it was a great place since it was deserted. "W-What are you doing?" Jisung asked looking up from his notebook sitting on the carpet. "Do I look like I'm about to jump out the window? no. I'm gonna smoke."You informed sarcastically on the boy. He was slightly taken aback you were so sweet yesterday and today your back with your bad girl reputation still strong. He threw you a quick look before getting up, putting his things in his bag, and throwing out the rest of his lunch. Now, walking towards you he takes the cigarette out your hand before you could even light it and threw it out the open window. "Hey! I wasn't done with that, and I didn't even start with it!" You raised your voice at him which did make him flinch but provoked him to argue back, "Yah! Your smoking is unhealthy and against school rules." He paused but started again, "You want to pass, don't you? I'm helping you pass, aren't I? Get your things together if you want my help Y/n."He spat. Honestly, you didn't think his words would affect you so much but it fueled the fire you started a minute ago. "Shut up Park, stop acting all tough when you know nothing about me, I never needed your help I was just going along with Ms." you argued back before grabbing your backpack and the lighter on the counter before hopping off pushing the tallboy to the side rudely, muttering something about bullshit.
Tumblr media
"I was helping her! And she says you know nothing about me Park! like of course I don't butt why does she need to be an asshole when I'm trying to help her out." Jisung complains to Chenle in front of him. "Maybe she's like addicted," Chenle says trying to make the best out of the situation "Look, she'll warm up to you eventually cause you two will be spending lots of time together now." Jisung huffs in disbelief that Chenle is basically on your side here, getting up from the grassy field to join the rest of his gym class in soccer.
From the corner of his eyes, he sees a figure under the bleachers; you. He knows you are upset with him as much as he is with you but he still wants to encourage you to pass Science with his help. "Park! Get your ass over here!" Yedam, his classmate calls him to grab his things on the field before heading into the change rooms.
Tumblr media
The school bell rang, you watched students walk out of their classrooms to their lockers, friends, lovers. You were leaning against the wall beside the empty Music room contemplating if you should leave and hang out with some friends by Unjeong Lake Park or stay in with Park Jisung to study for Science. Your thoughts were quickly interrupted by a voice, "Hey." Jisung stood in front of you, backpack resting on one shoulder and a Science textbook in his hand. "Hi," It was awkward being around him after you little tilt.
"Let's go," You trailed behind Jisung watching him take you to an unfamiliar part of the school, the West End. "Why are we here?" You question the pink-haired boy, but all you get in return is silence. At last, he brought you two to the old gym, it hasn't been used in almost 6 years but somehow it looks squeaky clean. "This is my hangout spot after school, I kind of made my friends go down to Unjeong for the day so we could study here until I find a proper place." He explains to you placing his books and bag on the stacked mats, offering to take your bag too, you let him. "So what Unit is your class working on now?" He asked you once the two of you sat on one of the many beanbags in the gym (Probably brought in from his pals), "Well my mom made me take Biology I and I know you are in my class I just don't show up..." You lean back on the beanbag playing with the lighter in your hands "What are we learning Park?" He visibly gulps at you doesn't even know why he's nervous himself, maybe because your scary? Probably.
"Well we're on our last unit of the year and the Unit test and Final Exam are what can get you to pass the class with at least a 60," He said moving to grab his textbook flipping to a page with sticky notes plastered all over. "We are in Unit 5, Plants: Anatomy, Growth, and Function. It's an easy Unit so we could go through it in two months then spend the two weeks before the final exam prep." Jisung finished speaking and handed you the textbook that was on the Unit page, it didn't look hard but you knew better to judge a book by its cover. "Alright, where do we start." You smile at the grinning boy who's suddenly amused by your aspiration to pass the course.
Tumblr media
It's 2:45 and you are in the middle of the last period, Science. It was your last day of the Science of the year, technically. You still had to prep for your final exam, but this was the final unit test which meant for the next month you'd be stuck in a silent classroom with your peers all silently studying over and writing recap notes for the final exam. You finish writing the date on your page and adding a little smiley face at the end of your name, flipping your paper over you take out your earbuds, and play music to pass time.
Good, 15 minutes have passed, and you see students getting up to hand in their papers, this where you tag along and hand it in too. Patting the eraser ends on your skirt off you make it back to your desk sitting then turning to look behind you, a few desks down to a now chocolate haired boy. He was finishing up his test when he looked up to see you basically ogling at him. Throwing you an awkward half-assed smile he looks back to the girl behind him, Jieun.
Jieun and Jisung took a very bad turn once Jisung agreed on tutoring you. She's ghosted the boy and took a liking to her lab partner, Taehyun. It was disappointing to see a girl get jealous over her date tutoring a very incompetent girl like you. If you were in her position, you might've gotten scared but wouldn't drop the kid; it was rude, and honestly, you were glad Jisung accepted that fate and moved on from her. He played with the end of his test sheet before sighing thumping his head against the desk, okay maybe he wasn't that over her yet but he's doing better than you ever would. Over these four months you and Jisung surprisingly got along well, you've opted to occupy a booth int he back of your town's ice cream parlor for studying instead of that abandoned gym in the West End.
In all honesty, you felt bad about how you treated the tall boy in the first few weeks of tutoring. You showed up late which strung the classes longer making one hour, two. You complained, never listened, argued, actually punched him once. But after warming up to him you've started to take a liking, noticing his features a little more than you did last week, finding his beauty mark under his lip stunning. Nowadays he seems ten times more charming, appealing, engaging, and irresistible to you, memorizing his favourite things how he looks up to Kai, the teacher assistant for the seniors. And that he actually hates Science and prefers Gym and Sociology class. He likes all kinds of ice cream and tries new flavors every visit, he never writes with a red-inked pen since he prefers the black one and always lets you know that too ("Y/n did you know red ink stains are a nasty stain to get out, always use black ink."). You aren't the only one who's learned to love the newly blossomed friendship as he's learned as much as you about him, on how you've always wanted to become a Veterinarian, that your love for animals is just unexplainable and the only things holding you down is this horrible reputation you've built yourself over the two years of attending. But better late than ever to change your ways and Jisung was absolutely mesmerized by your determination to achieve the new milestones you've set for yourself.
Tumblr media
"PARK JISUNG!" You shrieked barging into the empty ice cream parlor to see the boy sitting idling on his device, he looks up at you running towards your booth. "Hey, shhh", he quiets your overly excited self-telling you to sit."I got my Unit Test mark," you stop talking to take your backpack off and pull out your Unit Test which was graded and with a big fat A on it. "Holy shit! Y/n this is amazing!!"He exclaimed eyes going wide seeing the mark, his hard work really did pay off.
"Now we can start prepping for Finals," Jisung told you after handing your papers back, your shoulders sagged and your smile disappeared, you were hoping to possibly celebrate with your tutor and newfound friend. Shaking your head, you look at him again, "No sorry, I wanna celebrate this tonight," you inform Jisung who looks at you with a somewhat annoyed expression. "Sorry Y/n but one A isn't going to help you get to a passing mark, you need more than that and the only thing that'll help you pass Biology is your Final Exam which is what we need to prep for." What the fuck? Jisung Park, the golden student, and who you thought was your friend basically telling you that your grade wasn't worth all that cheering two minutes ago. That was unbelievable what type of asshole does that, oh wait apparently Jisung Park. You knew you weren't gonna pass with one test, of course not. You might've been dumb but not to that extent, you clench your fists wondering how all that admiration you had for someone just got poured down a drain so quickly. You chuckle heartlessly ' that thought lingered before you look at him and speak.
"Yea of course I know that but do you not understand how big of a milestone this was for me? I am one step behind passing my hardest subject of the semester and you telling me that it's not enough and we need to prepare for a final at the end of a month that has just started is fucking rude Park."You hiss at him now baffled on how he couldn't comprehend after four- almost five months of knowing you. Getting up you grab your backpack and phone and turn to exit the ice-cream parlor.
You were now outside of the small store, and Jisung didn't even come after you. Sighing knowing you should've known associating yourself with someone with a better reputation wouldn't have been smart. Pulling your phone out, you dial in a friend who you knew would be there for you and who had more free time than most students his age. "Jeno," You stammered through the phone "Y/n? Are you okay?" You smile weakly at his concern, not even a minute into a call."Can you pick me up?" you asked quietly to the older boy. Looking through the big glass window to the back of the shop, you see Jisung sitting there watching you intently, and he knows he hurt you. It wasn't his intent to; he just wanted you to reach your goals and he thought celebrating could've been done another time instead not today, I guess he hit a soft spot seeing your facial expression so fragile.
He saw a motorcycle pull up beside you and a muscular guy go and place a helmet on your head after holding you in his embrace for a moment before the two of you hopping back on the ride driving off to god knows where.
You kick around an empty pop can on the sidewalk waiting for your ride. Jeno knew something upsetting you over the phone so he decided not to question it and get you riled up but to drink a couple of beers and play darts at his crib. A Black 2018 Kawasaki Ninja pulls up in front of you, the driver removes his helmet revealed to be your dear friend, Jeno. He felt your gloomy aura already deciding to just embrace you tightly, "Whatever it is, you did amazing." He assured you before breaking the hug to plop the helmet on you and hopping back on with you behind him seated.
Tumblr media
"Great job Y/n, I can see you making it through the year, I just finished putting in your final mark 89 is an amazing score and all on your own is shocking." Your Science teacher complimented you after holding you back to show your improvement to you, Jeno encouraged you to still study hard solo after acknowledging that you didn't want to work with Jisung anymore, hard work did pay off now your officially finished with your junior year and with flawless grades. "Have a great summer break," You tell her before walking out for lunch. Last day of school before the summer break, it's been a crazy weird year but you don't seem to be upset. Jisung seemed happy without you anyways, you've been skipping Music to sit out on the bleachers while he had gym class, and made sure to visit the West End more often. You didn't realize it yet but Jisung looking happy stung more than it should've.
Tumblr media
Fuck that bullshit Y/n is on, Jisung is miserable without her. He didn't take note of it but he was more than happy to spend his Wednesdays and Saturdays with you. He liked the way your eyes widened or how your jaw almost touched the floor when he teaches you something new, or when your eyed shimmered when your grades went up every quiz. How your nose scrunched up at a difficult question, the way you organized his pencil case when he wasn't looking because 'it had to be cute like him'. He was too much of a coward to keep you by his side, it's safe to say Jisung Park likes you back. Head over heels in love with you probably, but we shouldn't stretch it that far knowing he's working his ass off to get over you, and of his mind but when does he even succeed. It's the last day of school and possibly the last time Jisung gets to see you roam the halls, watch him in Gym class fooling around with his friends, or just see you until the next school year. No, Jisung made it his goal to win you back. He's never seen you that way, never thought he'd need you, all he wants is to see you, hold you.
Tumblr media
"No Park. She's not even here kid," Your friend, Yuna told Jisung who was at your doorstep asking for you. "Just, just tell her to text me." He said frustrated now leaving.
"I thought you said he didn't want anything to do with you?" Jeno asked sitting on the couch of Yuna's living room beside you. "He doesn't, I don't know why-" Yuna was quick to argue with you, "He likes you and you left." Jeno nods agreeing, "I see that happening..." He half-joked. "Listen I know he was a jerk in May, but it's June- July tomorrow! He's not being a jerk right now because what freaking jerk comes to your doorstep BEGGING to talk to you?" Yuna ranted.
You know he's not a jerk and he meant no harm that day but it hurt. Everyone always sugarcoated things with you so when Jisung was pretty blunt with you, it stung. You whine at all this thinking about Jisung and feelings, plus even if he did like you, there was so much to unravel than just some lame highschooler who wanted to get her shit together. So so much more than just that. Drinking the rest of the alcohol in your plastic cup you sit up straight staring at the two in front of you who were dying to hear your say in this, "Okay so what if we have our happy ending, what'll happen then? He'll figure out how toxic I am and go running back to Jiwoo or whatever name is."Stopping and using a couch pillow to cover your face- did you seriously imagine yourself with a happy ending, you've fucked up so much that it seems impossible to turn back. Yuna notices your heartache and decided to tone down on his jokes and talk to you 'for realsies',"Sweetheart if he leaves you because your teeny issues were too overwhelming for him it's not worth it but from his recent actions it looks like he'd want to be there with you through those issues. Honestly, he could live a little too so dealing with you- and giving me and Jeno here a break should be thrilling."Adding a light-hearted joke was what you needed to place a soft smile on your lips.
“Now go get your man” Jeno says slapping your back playfully encouraging you to leave the house and venture off to him- wherever he is.
Tumblr media
"Can I help you?" A boy wearing Yonsei University sweatshirt asked you. 'This must be Jisung's older brother he told me about' You thought to yourself, "Oh Yes, is Jisung home?" You ask him looking up trying to look as innocent as you can. "Oh you just missed him, he went to get ice cream with his friends," he said. Shouting a quick thanks you run down to the only ice cream parlor Jisung probably knows in town.
Tumblr media
CLOSED is all you see in front of the ice cream parlor. Did Jisung's older brother lie to me? Now that you think of it, he and his brother aren't close enough to share those type of things from what you heard, and what type of boy would avoid the girl he supposedly likes. You sit down on the curb looking off into the little soccer field, watching kids play with their friends thinking, then it hit you. Did Jisung lie to his older brother? C'mon Y/n think of the one place Jisung and his friends could be...The park? Nah, too crowded. The mall? No, too far. Think Think Think, one place. Where in the world could Jisung- WEST END! God, why didn't you think of that in the beginning, of course, he's there. Getting up off the curb you make your way quickly to the back of the school, remembering Jisung telling you a back entrance to the West End.
Reaching the back entrance you see it open indicating someone (Jisung and friends) was inside. Maybe you shouldn't barge in and ruin their fun...opting to send Jisung a text you search your pockets to find, nothing. How could you leave your house without your phone? You're like addicted to it. "Excuse me?" A deep voice booms behind you, turning around you look up at the man. It's Jaehyun, the volleyball team captain. "Y/n." You know him, through Jisung, of course, why else would he be at the West End or know your name. "Hi," your breath rather softly which throws the older boy way off since he knows you for your snarky remarks or overly confident aura...Today you seem the opposite really. "Can you tell Jisung to come out for a second?" you ask avoiding eye contact and resorting to looking at the chalked up pavement. He gives you a thumbs up and heads in.
"Park Jisung-ah!" Jaehyun shouts for Jisung loud enough for it to echo in the empty gym. Looking up and seeing Jaehyun, Jisung excuses himself from his current conversation with Doyoung, Yuta, and Renjun to jog over to his Hyung. "Your chick is here," He says pointing out the door to you, Jisung's eyes lit up already knowing who Jaehyun was talking about peeking his head out the door to see you looking off into the parking lot, watching the sunset. He was pulled right back in by Jaehyun, "You better fix whatever's been going on between you, Y/n looks like an actual school girl being all shy and soft. I'm actually disgusted I need that spunky girl back before I force you two to kiss or some shit," Really Jaehyun? Some advice you got there.
"Alright kid go get your chick" Jaehyun cheered before pushing him and closing the door loud enough to alert and make you turn back.
It felt like a dream, none of this felt real. It hasn't even bee 24 hours since you last saw Jisung, but it's been a month of not interacting to get your heart racing this much. You looked unreal to Jisung, out of a fairytale actually and he looked amazing, like always. This is when he started to panic, you smiled weakly and started walking up to him. He looked down at his shoes not having the balls to look you in the eye, "Jisung look at me you pussy." You said so calmly but so rudely(?). It was funny and made Jisung giggle which made you short circuit.
Jisung looks up from his feet to see you staring into his brown eyes, taking in all his features again looking at him from head to toe; how fluffy his dark coffee bean hair was or his cheeks- god you always took the chance to pinch them when you could. His broad shoulders you always wondered how his hugs would be, probably so comfy and perfect. The beauty mark under his lip, fuck always wanted to kiss it. Your thoughts were disrupted when you felt two large hands enclose you in a tight hug; reacting almost immediately you wrap your small hands around his waist and rest your head on his chest while he brings his large hand to caress the back of your head. "I'm sorry, I know what I said was wrong and I shouldn't have made you seem so slow-witted when you totally aren't. I think over that conversation almost every night. I'm so so sorry Y/n," He finishes tightening the hug for a moment sympathetically.
You loosen the hug and tippy-toe up to the boy placing a small peck on his pink lips which caused his cheeks to go crimson. "You're forgiven, Park," you say giving him a tight smile. You see the tall boy pout a little and turn his reddened face to the side before mumbling "I was supposed to do that," which caused a fit of giggles from you.
"You'll have plenty of opportunities in the future Jisung."

Hoodies
RemRom Human AU
Angst
Break-up, crying, swearing, mentions of smoking. They're not brothers and are seniors in high school.
(Also posted on my Wattpad.)
Roman stared at the dim shop across the hall that was any goth, emo, or punk's dream aside from Hot Topic. One of his dads caught his attention as he asked if he had found anything he liked. Roman said he was still looking and smiled at him until he walked away. His gaze drifted down to the red jacket he had been looking at, but his interest for it died just like everything else he had looked at in the mall. Looking over to the shop across the hall again, his eyes widened slightly as he saw him. Before he could think, his legs were taking him out of the shop and following the boy leaving the mall through the back. He walked faster as the boy got outside and shoved the glass door open again, "Remus!"
The punk boy stopped in his tracks and slowly turned around. His emerald eyes taking Roman's breath away just like they did the first time he saw them. Now that he was standing there in front of him, Roman realized he didn't know what he was doing or why he'd followed him. Remus nodded his head towards a nearby bench, and Roman followed him to it. They sat a couple feet apart with Remus' duffel bag between them. Remus pulled a cigarette from his bag, digging around for his lighter. Roman finally found some words as he watched him, "I didn't think you worked here on Fridays."
"Quit my other job and covered someone's shift today." Remus shrugged and gave up on the cigarette, stuffing it back in the pack. He met Roman's eyes for a moment, then his eyes drifted down. Roman followed his gaze down to the black hoodie splattered in green paint that he hadn't been able to take off. But now, he found himself reaching to take it off. He slipped it over his head and slowly held it out towards Remus. His heart clenched as the soft fabric left his hand. He wasn't ready to let it go and hadn't planned on giving it back until he got over the break-up. Remus exhaled through his nose like it was funny as he stared at the jacket, "The thing that started it all. I still remember that day like it was yesterday. The school forcing us outside into the cold for some stupid photo, and you didn't bring your jacket for whatever reason. So, I untied mine from my waist and gave it to you."
"Maybe I just wanted to see if a gentleman would give me his." Roman laughed quietly though there was little humor in it, "Instead, the school punk turned out to have a soft side."
"And the cheerleader wasn't so bitchy after all." Remus snorted, "We were a teen rom-com, weren't we?"
"Except they always stay together in the movies." Roman mumbled, frowning again. Remus frowned too. They stayed quiet for a few moments, looking back on memories from when they were dating. Remus unzipped his duffel bag and pulled a white hoodie out of it, handing it over to Roman. Roman stared at Mickey Mouse on the front of the jacket, "You kept this on you?"
"My dad wouldn't let me leave the house this morning without a warm jacket. This was the only one I had," Remus shrugged, "It's just like the night you gave it to me. I only had my leather jacket, and you were wearing that one and mine. So, like the first day we somewhat properly met, you gave me yours and said-"
"A lover's hoodie is warmer than your own." Roman finished for Remus with a small smile. Remus nodded and looked down at his hoodie in his lap. The two fell back into silence. Roman didn't even realize as he hugged his hoodie to his chest and breathed in the smell of lemons and smoke. At first, it relaxed him and eased the ache in his chest, but then the tears welled up in his eyes and burned them. The ache in his chest returned and hurt more than before as he realized he'd never get that familiar scent again once it faded from the hoodie. Sure, he could cut lemons, start fires, burn cigarettes, but he'd never get it just right.
"I'll never regret giving you my hoodie that day..." Remus' voice was quiet and a bit strained. Roman looked over at him to see his eyes were watery too. "Even though it hurts so fucking much right now, I could never regret the time I spent with you."
Roman opened his mouth, intending to say he didn't regret it either, but the lump in his throat prevented the words from leaving. Instead, the tears in his eyes began to fall and it took everything he had not to sob. Remus sniffled and wiped his eyes, keeping his head on his hand, "Fuck, I miss you so much, Ro. And I know I was too scared to say it before, but I love you. I really fucking love you. I only wish I had had the balls to say it before I lost you."
Roman's heart squeezed and he struggled to speak around the lump squeezing his throat, "I love you too. I always will."
Roman moved closer to take Remus' hand and Remus looked up at him. He studied his features that he fell in love with every day for seven months. His slightly chapped lips, growing moustache, prominent cheek bones, and black-dyed hair that sometimes fell over his beautiful eyes. Remus seemed to be studying Roman's face too before pressing their foreheads together. "Why did our lives have to pull us apart? Why do we have to be so stubborn?"
"We both deserve to follow our dreams. A white picket fence wasn't in yours, and a life on the road wasn't in mine." Roman smiled, though it was sad and watery instead of happy.
"And why do you have to be right all the time?" Remus laughed through his tears, pulling away to look at Roman again. He moved closer, squishing his bag between them, and cupped Roman's jaw with his hand. "But what if my dream doesn't work out and I just threw away the best thing that ever happened to me?"
"It'll work out." Roman sniffed and nodded, mostly to reassure himself of the same thing. Because their dreams had to work out. If not, the pain was for nothing and the one he loved was gone forever. He squeezed Remus' hand that he was still holding and wiped his eyes with his other hand. "I'm always right, remember?"
Remus tried to smile and pressed their foreheads together again, "I'll never forget it."
"Good." Roman whispered, reaching up to hold Remus' hand that cupped his jaw. Their noses bumped together as they silently cried. Their lips were so close, almost brushing together. Roman almost closed the gap for one last bit of relief before the pain took over again, but Remus pulled away. He pulled his hands away, stuffed his hoodie in his bag, and put the strap over his shoulder.
"I need to get to band practice." Remus mumbled as he stood up, wiping his eyes with his sleeve, "Goodbye, Ro."
Roman clapped a hand over his mouth as a sob escaped him as he watched him walk away. Part of him wanted to chase after him to get the goodbye kiss he craved for and look into his eyes one last time as he said goodbye. But all he could do was hide his face in the hoodie that smelled like Remus and cry. Something hard in the pocket caught his attention and he pulled out an unlit cigarette. He clutched it to his aching, heaving chest and hid his face in the hoodie again. "Goodbye, Remus."

A Supernatural Christmas Carol (Chapter 3)
Tumblr media
Chapter 2
Series Summary: After a rough year, the reader is having a hard time doing anything besides work. When Dean encourages the reader to celebrate Christmas with Sam and him, the reader declines. After their disagreement, the reader retreats to her room. Throughout the night the reader is visited by four unexpected visitors. Will these visitors be able to help her have a change of heart before it’s too late?
Chapter Three Summary: The reader is visited by the Ghost of Christmas Present. What he shows the reader causes conflicting feelings in their heart.
Pairings: Dean x Reader
Warnings: Mild Angst
Word Count: 2,050+
A/N: Clearly I’m a little behind. I got sick yesterday, and while I was trying to finish this part I was falling asleep sitting up. I still need to post two chapters after this one before the end of Christmas Day. So be prepared for a lot of fanfiction for Christmas! Anyway, this is loosely based on A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. I will be writing five chapters to follow the format of the book. Wish me luck. Merry Christmas and Enjoy!
Remarkably my deep sleep got interrupted somehow. I sat up straight unsure as to why I was suddenly awake. Between my sister and the glowing ghost, my mind was reeling. Just as I sat up my phone began to go off once again. This felt like the final straw. I had turned the phone off. In no way should it be able to make sound or light up my bedroom. I turned it off once again and waited for the next messenger my sister spoke of. Where they would come from, I had no idea, but I wasn’t going to lay down and wait for them to arrive. This time I was ready.
Almost an entire hour passed waiting for the next visitor, but no one showed up. This unnerved me. I was just starting to feel like I understood how this worked. Had they decided to leave me alone? I couldn’t be sure. I reached over to my bedside table and opened the drawer. I started fumbling around searching for my watch. Once I grabbed hold of it I noticed a light begin to peak out from my closet door. It was different from the previous spirit’s light. This light appeared more like a warm and crackling fire. It danced quietly beneath the door as if it was beckoning me closer. I got up quietly, and tiptoed to the door. The moment I placed my hand on the doorknob, I heard a voice call out to me.
“Come in (Y/N),” the voice invited. I complied and opened the door.
When I looked inside it was no longer my closet. It opened up into a mirror copy of my bedroom. I looked behind me to find black nothingness, and quickly ran inside the room in front of me. I found that my room was greatly transformed from how I left it. Christmas lights were strung about the entire room, giving it a cheery glow. My desk and bedside table were covered in beautiful poinsettias, and a single mistletoe was hung just inside my door. Yet the thing that shocked me the most, was the comforting smell of pie and cookies that filled my room.
At my desk sat a joyful looking man in an evergreen bathrobe. Luckily, it was a nice bathrobe so nothing unseemly was exposed. He also wore a holly wreath on his head of dark brown curls. “Come in!” he exclaimed. “Come in and let’s have a chat!” I took a few steps towards him but wasn’t willing to go any closer. I didn’t want to travel anywhere else. My trip with the Ghost of Christmas Past was enough for me. The ghost in front of me seemed jovial, but looks can be deceiving so I kept my guard up. “I am the Ghost of Christmas Present, he said. “Come closer!” He waved me to approach him. Just like when my sister appeared to me, I went and sat on my bed across from my desk.
“So where are you going to take me? I’ve already visited enough memories. I learned that I haven’t been allowing myself to have any fun lately, let alone feel any happiness. Have you always been this joyful?” The spirit looked at me and stood up.
“Most certainly not. We all go through ups and downs in life. It took me many years of practice to discover how to be happy, even during the hard times. The most important thing I learned is to take care of your loved ones.” He answered my question about his demeanor, but ignored everything else. “Now come with me, we are not traveling far.” He stuck out his elbow and I linked my arm with his.
I followed him through my bedroom door, down the bunker hallway and into our main living space. We found Sam and Dean trying to set up a Christmas tree. I wasn’t sure where they got it but they had brought it in impressively quiet. Lights were already wrapped around the branches, and the Winchester’s were now placing ornaments on the tree. There was Christmas stuff spread all across the room. There was no way they planned this last minute. They must have been preparing this Christmas staycation for months.
“I’m going to grab us both a drink,” Sam huffed after placing a giant gold star on top of the tree.
“Alright” Dean replied, still focused on his work decorating the tree. The spirit lead me to the couch to sit down and watch.
Dean quickly went through the motions of decorating the tree. I knew Dean well enough to know that he should be enjoying this moment much more than he was. He seemed deeply troubled, probably thanks to our argument earlier. Sam came in a few minutes later with two glasses of eggnog.
“I made it extra strong for you.” Sam mentioned as he handed Dean his cup.
“Thanks” Dean replied, tapping Sam's glass with his before taking a sip. Sam got back to work, and began hanging garland around the room.
“Dean we need to talk about what happened today with (Y/N).” Sam suggested, looking over his shoulder at his brother.
“Sam I don’t even know anymore. We’ve been trying all year to find a way to help her, but nothing is working. It seems like every time we try, the more closed off she becomes.” With that Dean began to put the tree skirt down around the tree.
“True, but both you and I know that some of the burdens we carry take a long time to overcome. In the end family is what helped us through all of that. There’s got to be something we can do for her to at least help her start to feel better.” Sam was like a brother to me, but he didn’t know my mind like Dean did. He knew if anyone could tell what I was thinking it would be his older brother.
Dean sat down on the floor and meticulously placed presents around the tree. One in particular stood out to him. He picked up a thin, medium-length box off the table and weighed it in his hands. I watched as a single tear fell from his face. Once that happened Dean quickly set the present under the tree, wiped his face, and grabbed for his eggnog. I wasn’t the only one who noticed. Sam had been watching Dean from the corner of his eye.
“Dean…” Sam started, before Dean sharply cut him off.
“Sammy I don’t think she thinks of us at family anymore. The whole reason we planned this big Christmas is because years ago (Y/N) mentioned she wanted to stay home for Christmas one year. We haven’t been able to do that until now. It feels like it’s too late. I failed her.” Sam hung the last piece of garland and then joined Dean on the floor. Dean continued, “I am so scared of losing her….her leg is almost healed up enough that she can go hunting again. The look in her eyes lately scares me. I know she is going to throw herself into it too hard and get hurt again, or worse, killed.”
“Yeah you two are similar in that way.” Sam said raising his eyebrows before taking a sip of his eggnog. Dean looked at him annoyed.
“Very funny Sam.” Dean grunted.
“Listen Dean you and (Y/N) are more alike than you want to admit.” Dean rolled his eyes at this. “That’s exactly what I’m talking about,” Sam laughed. “But on a serious note, if anyone can pull her out of a funk, it’s you.”
“I hope so,” Dean placed the last gift under the tree. “I don’t know what I would do without her…” Dean mentioned before standing up and chugging the rest of his eggnog. Sam stood up, but he left his eggnog on the table. Sam grabbed Dean into a bear hug, surprising Dean at first, but eventually Dean joined in.
“She’ll come around Dean.” Sam reassured, patting Dean’s back. The embrace was short but sweet. Sam let go first and started to clean up.
“Will you be alright if I head to bed?” Dean asked.
“Sure thing, I’ve still got to finish my eggnog. Rest up. We’ll hatch up a new game plan tomorrow.”
“Merry Christmas Sammy”
“Merry Christmas Dean.”
I watched Dean for as long as I could before he disappeared down the hallway. Then I turned and watched Sam slowly sip his eggnog as he inspected all the decorating they did. The ghost got up off the couch and offered me his arm again.
“It’s time to go” He instructed. Once I took hold of arm we traveled even faster than I had with the Ghost of Christmas Past. We first landed in a familiar town, Sioux Falls.
Not only were we in Sioux Falls, but we landed in front of Jody’s house. The ghost led me inside to find Jody sitting in her living room, staring at her Christmas tree. She picked up her phone and dialed a number. The phone rang twice before someone picked it up.
“Hey Donna….Yes I’m ready for Christmas….supposedly they’re all in bed….are you still coming over tomorrow?” I couldn’t hear Donna’s replies but from what Jody was saying I had a pretty good idea of what they were discussing. Then they caught me off guard when Jody said, “Did you get a call from Dean today?” I didn’t know Dean called Jody and possibly Donna. “Yeah we definitely need to have her out her for a girls’ day. She’s been working herself way too hard.” The conversation lasted a few minutes more before Jody wished Donna a Merry Christmas and ended the call.
The ghost then led me outside away from Jody’s house. I felt strange. My heart was being exposed to all sorts of pain this evening. However, the strangest part of the evening wasn’t the pain. For the first time in a year, I was feeling something lighter and brighter. Hope. Even though I felt bad for causing my loved ones heartache, listening to them with the assistance of these spirits, was somehow helping my shoulders feel less heavy. I realized that I had some important people in my life who truly cared for me. It was time for me to start spending more time with them so that I could support them in the way they support me.
The spirit continued to take me to familiar and unfamiliar places. He showed me all kinds of families preparing for the holidays. Many of them were putting their insecurities, disappointments, and sadness aside so that they could make memories with their loved ones. These visits filled my heart continually with joy and sorrow. The more we saw, the more I thought about how I spent my year, and what I could do to improve upon it.
We finally arrived back at the bunker, if you could call it that. We were technically in the woods next to the bunker. The spirit looked at me with his jolly eyes. “Balance is the key to everything. Don’t allow work and pain to overcome your life. You have plenty to give and plenty to receive. Listen to your heart, for it will tell you what is right.”
“How can I make sure I do this?” I inquired.
“The answer can be found with you. This whole time you’ve been hiding from who and what you are. Embrace that and you will find the answer.” He finished speaking as a large gust of wind came blowing through. I closed my eyes and shivered. When I opened my eyes again the Ghost of Christmas Present was gone. I was now alone in the chill and fog of the woods. The words of my sister echoed again in my mind.
“If you do not listen to them, you will never be able to overcome the challenges that lie ahead.” Once that line ran through my head I felt a chill on the back of my neck. I turned slowly to see a large figure in a black cloak. I could not tell what or who it was, due to the dense shadows of the forest. It glided across the ground until it was standing across from me, face to face.

“Okay just one more step, sweetheart.”
You fumbled to lift your foot up, realising when you put it down that you had lifted it too high. It thumped down onto the step and you hoisted yourself up, swaying to the right a little. You felt the ever protective hands of your Mum hovering around you and groaned inwardly, having pounded up these exact stairs countless of times unassisted.
It was amazing just how difficult something so mundane could be when you have no clear vision.
“Let me just open the door.” You listened for the code to beep, paying more attention to the different sounds each button made. It made the entry unlock sound and you heard your mother open the door, waiting for the all clear to move. You had learned very quickly when you started walking again, that unless someone told you to move, to remain perfectly still otherwise. It was safer that way. You felt her hand guide your elbow and you stepped forward, hitting something in your path.
“What’s that?”
“It’s your house slippers. Take off your shoes now.” Doing as instructed, you then waited again. “Don’t forget the step up into the house. I’m getting a ramp installed next week.”
“That won’t be needed, how hard will it be?” you mentioned, moving forward again and catching your toes on the exact step you were trying to salvage from change. You stumbled and your Mum lurch forward to offer you some stability. “Ugh!”
“It will take some adjusting, but you’re going to know the layout so well soon that you won’t even need to worry!”
“Glad someone is optimistic.”
“Y/N, it’s going to be okay.”
You turned your head towards her voice, longing to see her properly instead of the constant indistinctness. You were getting used to imagining everyone you made contact with since the accident, though some details seemed to be disappearing. The one face you didn’t want to forget was your mother’s. You wished for some way to imprint it firmly into your brain. At the same time, she was becoming the one person you didn’t want to be around. Her ability to remain positive as your world continued to be blurry was enough to irk you into irrational moods daily.
You now tried to decipher where you were within your home. “Where’s my bedroom. Don’t take me there, just tell me which direction.”
“Aren’t you hungry?”
“I just want to lay down, Mum. Left?”
“If you move to your left, there are some markings on the wall that go all the way to your room. When you learn Brail-”
“Thanks, let’s talk later, okay?” You hurried towards the left, banging a little hard into the wall. Your hands felt for what she had mentioned, the unusual bumps running across the wall as you moved along. You could hear soft footsteps behind you and tried to focus on what you were doing instead, finding the door already open as the wall turned a corner. You could smell the faint scent of your strawberry perfume, and your thoughts went back to the moment you were spritzing it onto your summer dress the morning of your exclusive pass.
Blinking back the tears and the accident that rapidly flashed into your mind again, you rushed forward until you connected with the bedding. Scrambling onto the bed, you burrowed yourself under the blankets, not responding to any comments your Mum had begun to say. Eventually, you heard the click of the door and you clung to the blankets further, tears running down your cheeks.
It was too hard to live in this lonely blank world.
Tumblr media
You stirred as you felt the sun shining through the curtains and rolled over, wondering how bright it would be today. Opening your eyelids, you tried to stare in the direction of your windows, only feeling a lighter change within the greyscale blur you saw. Your mood immediately darkened and you laid there staring up, wondering how your day would be.
For the past three weeks, you had been busy with daily lessons of your new language, attempting to understand the alien bump sequence that your condition now made you rely on. You were also growing accustomed to finding your way around the apartment without smacking into something every five minutes like in the beginning. If you could get through the day without colliding into more than three things, then you classed it successful.
Things seemed to be falling back into some routine, though it wasn’t the kind you wanted. You missed hanging out with your friends on campus, studying painting and sculpture, and enjoying your twenties. You felt robbed of any real chances of a steady future, knowing you would have to co-depend on at least one person for the rest of your life. It was currently impossible to be positive as you were usually known to be.
It was growing hard to even remember who you were before.
“Y/N, I’m just heading out to get some groceries, will you be okay for an hour? Do you want me to call Mrs Shin to come up and stay with you?”
You glanced towards the direction of your door, hearing your Mother’s footsteps growing louder. She had a dainty style of walking, something you hadn’t noticed until now. Losing your sight had definitely fine-tuned your hearing skills. She stopped moving and you took it as your time to turn your head to stare up at the ceiling. “I’ll be fine.”
“Are you sure? I could-”
“I’ll just lay here; there will be no need for her to come in.”
“Well you have your phone beside you so if you need me, you know how to contact me. I love you.”
You nodded, your emotions rising with how selfless she could be. You cursed your irritable nature of late and made a promise to be more forthcoming towards all the work she was putting in.
Her steps retreated out into the living space, no doubt dashing about looking for her belongings before heading to the front door. You heard it open and then close, locking with a beep. The apartment was still alive, your ears growing accustomed to hearing the clock ticking on the wall near the television, and the hum of the refrigerator was somewhat comforting. You noticed there was a dripping sound adding to this symphony of sounds and frowned, wondering where it was located. Now that you could hear it, you were only able to focus on that, the sound overpowering everything else.
It quickly became irritating.
“Okay, let’s find you,” you said aloud, swinging your legs over the side of your bed and then getting to your feet. Once your balance was even, you moved forward slowly, going towards the door and feeling relief at the now familiar raised bumps on the wall. You ran your hand all the way until you knew you were in the living room and stopped, listening out for the sound again. It was coming from the kitchen and you eased yourself around the dining table that you knew was in your direct path, now shifting towards the tiled area of the house. The noise grew louder, and you tapped about, trying to find the counter. Your hand grazed over something and you tried to grab onto it to decipher what it was.
“Parcel delivery!”
You whipped around in fright, throwing your balance off as you did so, and hearing the smash of whatever you had been attempting to grasp. It sounded like glass and you groaned, moving forward again and crying out in pain when you stepped on something sharp. Your balance became uneasy and you grabbed onto the refrigerator, unsure of what to do.
A buzzing sound came from the door and the man repeated his delivery call, but you didn’t respond, feeling paralysed. You began to cry, wishing your mother were here to help you decide on what to do next.
It felt like an eternity until you heard the front door code being punched into the door, and steps entering the house. You were still standing on one foot holding the refrigerator, and began to shake with the intense relief washing over you knowing that someone was coming to help.
“I got everything we needed and even something more, Y/N!” You heard more steps and tried to call out, but your voice wouldn’t work due to all your tears. “A certain person is here to see you. Someone we were talking about yesterday actu-”
“Mum!” you finally called and the sudden noise from all the movement around you was deafening. Arms went around you quickly right as your legs began to give way, feeling drained completely and you fell limp within the grip. You frowned slightly, trying to decipher who was holding you. It wasn’t your mother.
“Y/N, what happened?!” There was panic within his voice and you struggled to move upright against him. His hands only gripped you tighter and carried you over to the sofa, the man lowering you down gently before taking a seat. You were hyperaware of yourself in the most ridiculous ways.
It was true you had discussed allowing Jaebum to visit finally. He had been calling a few times a week to check in with how you were, and at first, you were uncomfortable with even speaking to him. Now, Jaebum became the person you enjoyed most conversing with during your day. He would share the news of his work with you, and in return, you would tell him of your learning of Braille. It was becoming important to check in with each other regularly and you felt relaxed when doing so. He was the one person who seemed to understand how different life felt these days.
However, you had hoped that when he came over that you would be dressed and presentable, for one. You didn’t know what was frightening you more, the fact that you were bleeding and had no way to fix it yourself, or that Im Jaebum had just carried you around in your pyjamas.
And you hadn’t even showered yet.
“You told me you would stay in bed,” Mum scolded firmly, the panic subsiding in her frantic movements around the house. You could smell the first aid kit that she placed down. “Why did you get up? Jaebum, can you hold her foot up so I can treat it?”
“Sure.” Your leg suddenly moved gently and you cried on the inside, utter embarrassment eating away at you. You then winced dramatically at the tugging your foot felt. Jaebum patted your lower leg gently. “You need to stay still Y/N, you have glass stuck in your foot.”
“Why did you get up?” your Mum repeated and you sighed, giving in to the whole situation in defeat.
“I heard a tap dripping.”
“Is that it?” she sighed, her gentle treatment beginning again on your injury.
“It was really loud with the house being quiet so I came out to turn it off properly. And I was almost there until a delivery arrived and gave me a complete fright.”
“I told the lobby to collect our deliveries from now on for us,” Mum grumbled as she cleaned your foot with an alcohol rub.
“Ouch!”
“Well, you would wander around with no slippers on. They were right beside your bed.”
“It’s not like I could see them,” you reminded through gritted teeth, annoyed at how something so simple at lining up with your slippers each day could prove a challenge depending on where you got out of your bed.
“All the same, you made it to the kitchen in one piece,” Jaebum injected into the conversation and you turned to his voice, not knowing how to respond. “That’s good isn’t it?”
“Except now she’s hurt.” Mum disapproved and began to wrap up your foot. “There. Now stay here, I’ll get your slippers so you can keep your foot safe.”
As she moved away from you both, Jaebum took a deep breath. He nudged you gently and you flinched before smiling meekly in his direction. “Is she like this with you every day?”
“Well, I did just hurt myself.”
“But you got up,” he stated, and you could tell there was some sense of joy in his tone. “You did something more than usual, Y/N. Aren’t you glad?”
You thought about his words for a moment, your smile growing wider as you nodded. You had done something more than ordinary. Even if it had ended badly, you had still tried.
And that’s all that mattered right now.

AS: Cliché
Tumblr media
Rated: M for Smut, Angst.
Pairing: Jaehyun x Reader xYuta
Summary: The story of secrets, deciet and greed. Three characters with unlikely alliances and one common goal; power. Jaehyun is stuck between his own thirst for power and his need for the one thing that could take away everything. Yuta has ambition growing from an unlikely alliance and convinces himself to do anything to protect it. Between both of them is her, ambitious but with one weakness, she does all it takes for Jaehyun, even if it’s putting herself aside. But how long can she hold up her own fragile games?
(A/N): Here’s a sequel no one asked for ahaha.
She was seated quietly in the corner as a young girl powdered Jaehyun’s dimpled face. He offered her a polite smile and she blushed deeply. She curbed the urge to roll her eyes and went back to typing on her phone. After she was done she bowed and thanked him, telling him how she voted for him and how she believes he’d be great as governor, the usual. His smile only got wider and he thanked her politely, the usual.
“Will you issue a press release or should I announce it?” He asked while looking at her through the mirror, referring the position of campaign manager
“I haven’t said yes to your offer you know.” She didn’t look up from the email she was busy typing. There was a silence that started to make the hairs on her neck stand straight.
“Leave it to me.” She finally looked up, giving in. He nodded and she went back to looking at her phone, missing his smile.
She stood beside the camera as she watched him at work. Everything he did was flawless. He made talking to people an art form. He blushed where required, offered a few flirtatious yet upstanding comment. His art lay in the subtleties, but what was the most admirable was that it was natural. He wasn’t pretending at all, and it took her years to believe it.
“We’re hearing rumours that your last campaign manager and you father’s old friend will not be returning this time?” The interviewer asked with a secretive smile.
“Well, I haven’t said anything yet.” He fluttered a quick glance at her, “But yes, it’s true. I want to step out of my father’s shadows, he is a great man but I want to be known as Jung Jaehyun, not my father’s son.” The interviewer gave him an understanding nod.
“I know it’s quite uncommon to announce my run without a campaign manager but I assure you the person I appoint will be incredible, that is something you can take my word on.” She couldn’t help the way her heart fluttered at his words. She didn’t even realise how he just solidified her decision.
She walked out to a small balcony, toying with the card in her hand as she thought about her decision over and over. She considered all the possible outcomes and finally dialled the number. A voice greeted after three quick rings, he was attentive.
“Is this Yuta Nakamoto?” She read the words on the card, her voice showing exactly that.
“I didn’t think you’d call.” She heard the smirk in his voice.
“For someone so cocky you sure lack confidence.” His laughter was what she heard next over the line.
“Did you want something or did you just call to give me a piece of your mind like yesterday?” She chewed on her lips, contemplating whether to just tell him over the phone and get it over with.
“Not that I mind either way.” He added into the silence it took her to think.
“Meet me today, I’ll text you the time and place.” She finally told him, he scoffed.
“Eager one aren’t you.” She rolled her eyes and scoffed back.
“I have a story for you, I’m sure you want it. But if you rather keep up whatever your ghastly version of flirting is, I don’t think this will work out.” She was about to hang up.
“What is this about?” His voice was suddenly serious, she scoffed again.
“I’ll text you the time and place. And a piece of advice; don’t act so desperate. It’s a turnoff for some people.” He heard the line go dead and smirked at his phone in disbelief.
A few minutes later he received the text as promised. He laughed loudly, the grin not leaving his face.
“How cliché.” He sighed, flicking his lighter to light his cigarette.
Yuta stood in the park watching children walking over to their nanny after a long day playing. Considering the area he was in currently he doubted any of the actual parents came to the park with their children. Yuta never really liked children, it was just another human to fuck up as far as he considered it. He took a long drag from his cigarette as he thought back to when his mom took him to a park like this, he couldn’t recall any such instance.
“I don’t think you’re allowed to smoke in a public area.” He turned to the voice after being pulled out of his past reverie by it. She stood there wrapped in a coat and scarf, seeing her made him realise how it was getting colder. She extended her arm and offered him a cup.
“I didn’t know how you drink your coffee so I got you a hot chocolate.” He was taken aback by the sudden polite gesture, staring at her till he realised she was holding out the cup for too long. He took the cup and said a quick thanks.
“Sorry for making you wait long in the cold, I had some work to sort.” She sat down beside him on the bench.
“What is it that you had for me?” He asked impatiently.
“I have a deal for you. I’ll give you exclusive information from Jung Jaehyun’s campaign. You can either post it yourself or sell it I don’t care, but I guess selling it entails giving a reliable source and if my name gets brought up in so much as a casual conversation, this deal is off.” She sipped on her drink after she finished, he noticed a square paper under the lid with a string, she was drinking tea. She faced him then for his reply.
“Two questions. First, what’s in it for you?” His lips then tugged into a small smile, his eyes danced with a secret mischief, “And second, how will you get these details.” She smiled at his expression.
“I want to control the news that goes out there, that is enough for me. As for me reliability, I’m giving you your first story today, if you agree.” She smirked at him.
“You’re putting me in a difficult position here darling.” Yet he smiled like he knew where this was going. He extended his hand to her and she shook it.
“You have my word, Campaign Manager.”
“For a reporter that isn’t much is it? I hope to see your article in the paper tomorrow Mr Nakamoto.”
“Call me Yuta.”
“I don’t think we’re close enough.” With that, she walked away. He looked down at the cup she left, a deep red mark of where her lips touched it. He smirked and picked it up, taking a sip.
“Tea.” He said satisfied to himself.
