HAPPY BIRTHIVERSARY part 1 - THE SIMS 2 IS 20???

FUN FACT: The Sims 2 (2004) was released 3 days before the date upon which I was released from my mother's womb, therefore making me younger than The Sims 2 by 3 days as of September 14th 2024, but objectively older by 6 years as of September 17th 2024. The march of time is inevitable and frightening! Let's celebrate!

Admittedly I didn't have very much to give when it came to sharing content for the Sims 2's anniversary because I've been battling the Chronic Exhaustion Demon, but then I realized I still haven't released those hair colors I showed a while back. And then I realized I could share EVEN MORE content by spreading it out across a few days instead of condensing it into one day. And it just so happens that, as stated above, there are two special occasions (for me at least... lol) close together on the calendar. SO. HERE'S SOME COOOONTEEEENT.

Today's bundle is mainly a resource for creators who use GIMP 2.x, and includes 11 UNNATURAL HAIR COLORS in the form of Curves that can be used on just about any texture you want, as long as you use it on a Volatile base These only come in Curve form, but if anyone would like to convert them into Photoshop actions, you're more than welcome to.

The colors are named, in order of appearance above: Sapphire, Tanzanite, Azurite, Alexandrite, Moonstone, Aquamarine, Bloodstone, Ruby, Entropy, Blue Moon, and Lily. You can read more about them under the cut.

The Gemstone colors were inspired by, of course, gemstones. They were my first attempt at making a hair color palette of my own. Out of them all, Moonstone, Bloodstone, and Alexandrite are my favorites.

I wanted to go for something fantastical. I also wanted to push GIMP's Curve function to the limit and see how many shades I could put into one color without it looking like garbage.

I use Bloodstone, Moonstone, and Aquamarine as Red, Blond, and Grey respectively in my (still hypothetical) Alien hair color family.

Entropy - intended to be alien "black", a very desaturated indigo color. since Alien sims born in game typically have black hair genetics (unless using a pt mod that changes this), I wanted it to really stand out against both the Maxis mint green and any alternative Alien themed skin tones despite its overall 'plainness'.

Blue Moon - intended to be alien "brown", I wanted to go for a color that was strange and unsettling in comparison to human brown hair. I think I originally intended it to be more blue but it came out more desaturated teal instead. Attempts to change this made it too similar to Entropy for my liking, so I left it as it is.

These colors were originally created and named after the sims I specifically made them for, and I was going to use them only on a small handful of hairs. But I liked the shades so much that I decided to incorporate them into my personal palette. And so, with that in mind, it didn't feel right to keep them to myself.

'Lily' maintained its name as a color, but 'Ruby' was renamed to what it is now. In my game I bin them as Brown and Black respectively because they're meant to be considered 'dyes' in-universe and I wanted to be able to make their associated sims in CAS without having to make them go to the mirror in-game every time I put them in a new hood, but you can do whatever you want with them lol.

Today I bring you not cc, but a small collection of .blend files for making cc a little easier. If you've ever wanted to quickly put a braid into a custom hair without completely obliterating your poly count*, then these might be able to help.

*braids will still add a LOT of polygons to your hair, but since every single polygon is visible** on these tiling braids, at least you know they're all being put to use, whereas if you were to physically braid 3 strands of geometry, lots of those polygons would wind up inside the braid, just adding to your count without contributing anything to the look

**if some polygons end up inside of other meshes, you may want to delete them to reduce the poly count further. The boolean modifier may be able to help you, but I haven't tried

These are completely hollow, tiling braid "facades". They just look like a braid, without being anything more than a stylized tube. Available in 9 shapes (which are all pretty similar, more or less, but have different 'vibes', and one of them technically doesn't resemble a braid, but if you squint it looks close enough) and 3 polygon counts to hopefully fit in with your project.

TOU: Same as my cc. Read it here. I obviously don't own this concept, so feel free to reverse engineer, make your own braid tiles, etc. Just don't use mine for anything commercial (using them in commissions is fine, just not paywalled final products!)

You will need to be using one of the newer versions of blender, I believe 2.8 and up. These were made in blender 3.6, so the files will not be compatible with old versions like 2.7x.

Quick start guide:

Open your hair wip's .blend

In object mode, 'Append' the 'BraidTile' object of your choice

Select 'BraidPath' and, in Edit mode, position it however you like

Additional info under the cut, because I tend to ramble, and these require a little bit of a primer before use, probably. Unless you for sure know what you're doing, in which case, feel free to just take these and run with them.

THIS IS NOT A TUTORIAL ON MAKING HAIR, OR HOW TO USE BLENDER. Seek that information elsewhere.

Before appending braids, you may want to open up the blender file and look at all the shapes, to decide which one you want to use.

When you first append your braid, or open the blend files, you may notice it does not look like the preview images above, and instead looks like a shiny pink slug. This is intentional! For previews and development work, I use @/simandy's base textures, but your hair will probably be using a different texture, so I have not included a texture at all.

Simply switch the material of the 'BraidTile' to the same material your hair is using, and adjust the uv map accordingly. I'm going to assume if you are making hairs that you know how to do that, so it will not be explained here.

Once you have your braid appended, and have edited the UV Map of the 'BraidTile' piece to your liking, you can also try scaling the tile in the X, Y, and Z axes to change up the look a little. Make sure you select all of the vertices before scaling, to make sure it still tiles. This should be safe to do, and not mess up the tiling at all, but make sure you do it in Edit mode, not Object mode. (If you mistakenly do it in Object mode, you just have to press ctrl+A and select 'scale', and that should fix it)

When you have your braid adjusted, switch over to the 'BraidPath' object, and use edit mode to move the points around however you want. This is just like any other hair strand, if you're used to making hairs with paths and curves then this should already be familiar to you. All the same controls should work.

And, if you already have a curve in your hair that you'd like the braid to snap to instead, you can select the 'BraidTile' object, locate the curve modifier, and switch the curve object to any other curve in your .blend. You'll want to change the curve in the array modifier to the same one, most likely.

If you haven't used curves to make a hair before, here's a couple quick controls you might like to know:

ctrl+T will let you Twist the object around the selected point(s) alt+S will let you Scale the object around the selected point(s) selecting the first or last point of the 'BraidPath' and pressing E will Extrude a new point, making your braid longer

Remember to do all of your positioning on the 'BraidPath' object! You do not need to edit the 'BraidTile' at all once you've set up the UV map and adjusted the scale!

It should tile, twist, etc. with little issue, and should get longer or shorter according to the length of your curve with no issue. If it doesn't, make sure both the array and curve modifiers of your 'BraidTile' object are using the same curve. They should be using the 'BraidPath' object by default, but if you changed this manually, ensure that both modifiers match for best results.

Unless you know what you are doing, I do not recommend messing with any other settings in the modifiers, or adjusting the 'BraidTile' mesh in any way besides scaling the entire object at once. Otherwise you could end up with gaps and holes in your braid.

When you are done posing your braid, you can apply the modifiers to turn the whole thing into a regular mesh. I like to make a copy of my 'BraidTile' and 'BraidPath' first, just in case I want to go back and change the shape later. After converting it to a regular mesh, I'd recommend going in with proportional editing turned on and randomly scale and move a few of the pleats just a little, to make the braid look a little more organic. You can even add a couple strands to make it look messier, if you dont mind adding to your poly count even more. But this comes down to your preference and style. The braid below has had some half-assed editing done to demonstrate the concept. (Note: This is actually the low-poly version of this particular braid shape)

Ultimately, it is up to you to decide how you want to blend the braid in with the rest of your hairstyle. I can't tell you how to do that, as it is ultimately going to come down to your own personal preference, workflow, and the hairstyle you are making.

How do I know if I should use Hi, Mid, or Lo poly?

This is largely due to personal preference, and how you're using the braids in your project. I have included the three different poly versions to try and be mindful of the overall poly count of your poor poor meshes, but even a lo-poly braid is going to add an easy couple thousand polygons to your project. Keep that in mind! If you plan on having a LOT of braids, something like this EA hairstyle, for example:

You will probably want to follow their example and use a very simple mesh and just apply a braid texture instead of using these. EA's braids here appear to be a simple box shape painted to look like braids.

If you only plan on having one, maybe two braids in your entire project, especially if they are very large braids, then you might want to go with the hi-poly option. They're the smoothest, roundest choice.

If your braid has a very small diameter, you can probably get away with just using the lo-poly option, and save some polygons you won't need anyway.

The mid-poly version exists as a sort of happy medium. They aren't quite as pointy as some of the lo-poly shapes, and they won't inflate your poly count as much as the hi-poly models, so you may find you prefer them for your applications.

It's all very subjective.

Keep in mind I am not very skilled in blender! There's probably some optimization that can be done if you know what you're doing, and I welcome you to tweak these meshes to your heart's content, if that's you! I made these for me, but I figure they could make someone else's life a little easier too, so here you go.

First and foremost, I'm literally flatter than a washboard; that size is perfect to me, since I wish I looked like that??

Secondly, how the heck does Yui look child-like?? She resembles a teenage girl or a young adult. If Rejet had told me she was 19 or 20, I would have believed that.

Take a peek at these official arts and cgs. Kanato appears younger, and Ayato, the franchise's MAIN HERO, looks the exact same age as her or even more baby-faced if you look closely at his features. Does this mean people aren’t allowed to simp for them? NO.

Thirdly, I doubt you've ever played DL. Yui has sex with everyone (and enjoys it most of the time), and there are multiple sequences in which they rip off her clothing or talk about her body. Besides, if you understood Yui's personality, you'd know she doesn't mind praises on her body. She won't think you're a p3do for complimenting her appearance, especially if you're a girl, but would rather feel flattered.

In the first scene, she even gets happy and surprised when she hears him complimenting her legs, and in the second one, she's measuring her own boobs, claiming that she's not flat.

The whole thing about her having curves and plushy legs is actually canon. Why are some people so against the fact that Yui looks developed—? It’s as if YOU want her to look like a child, only because YOU have those weird fantasies and are projecting them on others.

Last but not least, DL is a Japanese-made game. A lot of girls there are considerably more petite and flatter than Yui, and they treat the whole "Chichinashi" thingy as a joke in order to call them out, since that's exactly what it is. Beauty standards change from country to country. Yui is seen as slim in the healthy way where I live and l can guarantee that she would undoubtedly not be considered child-looking among us.

Hi Riikka, I stumbled across your art recently and am just blown away. It's absolutely gorgeous! *0* I am pretty new to digital art and was wondering what procreate brushes/settings/textures you use, especially for sketching (but also for painting)? I tried searching around your blog/links to see if you've answered this before and couldn't find anything so I apologize if this is a repeat question. ^^;

Hello hello! I'm so glad you enjoy my artwork so much! Thank you so much for your kind words - I try my best to level up and draw cooler every day haha Now about my brushes: I mostly draw in Paint Tool SAI 2 actually (I currently only use Procreate for simple sketches), and I've been meaning to make my SAI 2 brushes available for purchase for some months now since you are not the first person to ask me this. I mostly use textured, bristled, and round brushes, often with a custom brush shape. Nothing super "fancy", just a few versatile and functional brushes. But this is still a work in process since collecting and organizing my rather messy brushes into a nice brush set takes time, plus I also tend to change my brush settings a lot depending on what I need. So I've been creating and saving the brushes as I work (plus I've been rather busy with freelance work as well).

I also use the same brushes for sketching and rendering, because the way I render nowadays is more like drawing than painting. At least that's how it feels to me. I just change the brush settings (opacity, size, tip tapering, texture intensity, etc).

But I will post about this when the set is finally ready! But I also sketch in Procreate, and lately, I've been mostly using:

I have also used the standard Procreate sketching brushes a lot, such as the 6B pencil (my favorite). I often like to amp up the texture intensity of my brushes though.

I have also used a brush called "DizzyTara's Oval Sketch 2" for sketching, but I've altered this brush a bit to fit my own taste (more texture and bigger max brush size). It's basically a pretty "basic" and textured oval brush, but often brushes like this are the best and most versatile tbh!

Other settings: In Procreate, I've also adjusted my pen pressure curve to be more sensitive so that I don't need to press so hard - this will save your hand and wrist as well!

Slightly late monthly journal!

First off, the spreadsheet has been updated:

Nothing too drastic here, especially compared to my initial growth spurt. But still… there’s so much, yet so little to talk about.

I’ve been on spiro for a longer time now, and recently increased my estradiol dose. Note that my levels check was before the increased dose- the dates aren’t completely coordinated (they are on my private spreadsheet for my own personal tracking, don’t worry). It’s looking pretty good. Testosterone is well within target levels. E is about the same, which is much lower than I would like it. My endo says that 100-200 is “minimally acceptable”, and wants to shoot even higher than that. That’s comforting, in a way- I’m the slightest bit frustrated that some changes aren’t happening too quickly, but that gives a very distinct avenue for improvement. Ultimately, I’m gonna switch to injection monotherapy, probably around the same time I start prog. So the big change is decreased T. What has that done to me?

First off, the hard measurements. There’s really no surprises here. I’m losing weight, which tracks with my general diet and an increase in exercise levels. It seems to be happening faster than normal, though. Which, is pretty easily explainable by a new variable in the equation: adderall. I started adderall in the middle of the month. I’ve used it sparingly, but everyone I know that takes it told me that weight loss is pretty much unavoidable. I’m certainly still above any point where my weight would be worrying, but I’m gonna have to keep an eye on it. Especially if I want fat tits. As for how the weight loss is happening, I’m very happy with what’s going on. My bust and hip measurements are holding steady, while my waist and underbust are still slightly going down. 

I do know that there’s another source of weight loss, however: muscle mass. With the increase in exercise level has come an increase in exertion for the same results, which has made me slightly dismayed. This is the main HRT effect that I was a little scared of. But honestly, I really only care about the muscle that helps me hike and swim- and if I maintain that better, I think it won’t be too much of an issue. I was never some pariah of physical condition, so I think with training I can even improve my hiking stamina. That’ll be very necessary with my future backpacking plans.

The main thing that I’m REALLY happy about is that, if I squint, I think I can slowly start to see the first hints of facial changes start to come in. They’re subtle, of course. A weird one is that my nose is literally straighter. Y’all don’t see it, but the reason I still shield my face (despite being easily identifiable at this point if you saw me irl and knew this account) is mostly insecurity about my nose and chin. My nose actually physically curves to my right when viewed from the front, and in general, is a huge, classic Roman nose. Looking at head on progress pictures, its actually starting to straighten out. I thought I was imagining things, but I checked in with a couple friends before and after pictures of several years on HRT, and yeah- their noses are different, usually smaller and more symmetrical. Saying that this is a huge relief to me would be an understatement. Additionally, I was insecure about my boxy jawline, but for some reason, it seems to work as a femme feature of my face now- I think slight cheek restructuring helps frame it better. Still not so sure how the chin is gonna turn out. But hey- I started HRT thinking that I would for sure need FFS to pass, but now, I'm far less concerned. I'll at least give it two years.

I’ve also gotten a lot of interesting comments. Several labmates and family members that don’t know I’m transitioning have remarked that my skin looks healthier, and I look younger. I’ve also had noticeable mental health improvement, so I think most people think I’m on some kind of self improvement kick. I mentioned skin care as part of that. hi there!! i'd be happy to! i've never regretted saving a psd yet 😂 this is the post in question and honestly, for as... not great as the quality of my dl of the movie is, i'm still really happy with how it turned out! also i love women 😍

nothing too wild going on here, but even when i do "simple" coloring like this (gradient maps, my beloved), i still color the base gifs. once i have all the gifs made and plopped onto the canvas, this is what my coloring layers look like:

working from the bottom up, i almost always start with a brightness/contrast layer. i don't adjust either value, but instead set the layer's blending mode to screen. this movie is pretty dark, so i left the opacity at 100%, but sometimes, i'll drop the opacity as low as 20-30%.

i follow that up with a curves layer, where i utilize the black and white eyedroppers. click the black eyedropper and then click the blackest point on your gif. then do the same with the white eyedropper. it's a good idea to play around with different points, especially when you're working with super tinted scenes. curves layers can be a lifesaver!

on the levels layer, i did the same exact thing with the eyedroppers, but oftentimes, i end up increasing the black value, like you see here:

next, my FAVORITE adjustment layer: selective color! i like to color code my selective color layers, especially when i'm working on a super colorful set like my recent lisa frankenstein set. i always start with adjusting the blacks and usually the neutrals. you can right click on the eye/visibility icon to select a color. i use grey for these colors. here were my adjustments:

i'll occasionally adjust the white values when working with a really tinted scene, but these were fine, and it wouldn't make much difference anyway since we're putting a gradient map over top.

the next curves layer is just a slight adjustment for the top row of gifs to make the eventual gradient map layer more vibrant. i added this after the fact, but wanted it positioned here.

the subsequent brightness/contrast layer is the same thing. the top row just needed some more work. same as the original b/c layer, i didn't adjust the values and set the layer to screen. on this one, i dropped the opacity to 45%.

finally, the pièce de résistance, the gradient map layer! i just slapped on a gradient map adjustment layer. the color on the left should always be your darker color, and in this case, i want it true black. the color goes on the right, and bc this was a lesbian flag set, i just googled the specific hex codes for the lesbian pride flag and used those colors for each row! here's what that looks like for the orange portion of the set:

to change the colors, you just click on the lil square guys on the bottom of the gradient and you can choose a color from the color picker or just copy and paste a hex code.

and there you have it! i lovelovelove using gradient maps for big, vibrant pops of color, but also for gifs of scenes that are just. so hard to color lmao. call it a cop-out, but it makes my life a lot easier 😂

for gameplay I really recommend like.. taking ur time. minecraft is one of those games that if you do what you think youre supposed to oNLY then youll get bored quick bc its more of a sandbox game where the main challenge is whatever you decide it to be. thats why people often refer to having "2 week fixations" on minecraft because realistically you can complete the game in like... one or two sittings. or at least what is defined as completing the game. its a game about finding what about it you really enjoy. like some folk love to build, farm and others like to mine and loot and grind for the best equipment!! ive been playing mc for so long that I actually rarely play vanilla for the exact reason I said like I just get bored after a while BUT thats where mods come in!

modrinth is a great site and app for minecraft modpacks. you download the app and from it you can not only make your own packs of mods, you can dl premade and popular modpacks! these modpacks range from insanely difficult realistic ones to ones that turn your game into a pokemon game so its a fun experience just browsing them. my personal favourite is better minecraft (fabric version) which im currently playing a lot. despite adding SO many mods, it still feels very minecrafty and true to its "vanilla +" theme. I dont enjoy big game changing mod packs because of the learning curve required with them, but better minecraft is really enjoyable to just explore and discover without feeling overwhelmed. another great modpack which is wildly different to that is cobblemon (fabric) which is based on the pokemon mod for minecraft with the same name! its quite different to your regular mc experience but still super fun!

[SCENE TRANSITION: SCHOOL ROOFTOP.] 

[Wind whistles past the chain-link fence. The sky is the color of blood thinned with bleach.]

[Lu kneels near the edge. Her soaked uniform clings to her skin like second flesh.]

Lu- [She said infirmary. I said yes.]

Lu- [But my feet brought me here.]

[Below, the city pulses. Blurred lights. Traffic veins. She doesn’t hear any of it.]

[Her fingers press against the back of her shoulder. Slow. Searching.]

[She finds the edge of it again—raised scar tissue surrounding golden thread. Familiar. Wrong.]

[She digs.]

[Nails split skin. Blood wells up sluggishly, mixing with the chlorinated water still trapped under her sleeves.]

Lu- [It’s still there after all this time.]

[She drags her nail lower. Carving the old shape. Trying to pull the threads out.]

[But the threads hold fast, buried deep in tissue and time.]

Lu- [Not enough.]

Lu- [Of course it’s not enough.]

[She pauses. Her breath fogs, barely visible in the wind. Then—she reaches into her soaked backpack.]

[Fingers close around something wrapped in a handkerchief.]

[She draws it out: a silver knife. Polished. Untarnished. Her hand trembles.]

Lu- [He gave it to me.]

Lu- [Said if I ever wanted to kill him, to use this.]

Lu- [But I never did. Never wanted that.]

Lu- [I just wanted to get Yui out. That’s all.]

Lu- [No one was ever going to die for me. Not even him.]

[She presses the blade flat to her shoulder. Blood beads instantly. But she doesn’t stop.]

[The first cut is clean. The second isn’t. She drags the knife through the skin, not to punish—but to find the thread.]

[Golden strands glisten faintly beneath the blood, like embroidery in flesh.]

Lu- [Why won’t it come out?]

Lu- [Why won’t it ever leave me?]

[Her breathing is sharp now. Pain is secondary. She carves slower, steadier, tracing the old sigil.]

Lu- [I don’t deserve His markings on me.]

Lu- [I’m so filthy.]

Lu- [Clinging to saints—Mama, Yui—that all but left me under His punishing gaze.]

[The wind picks up. It snatches at her hair. Pulls strands across her mouth like a gag.]

[She stays kneeling. Crimson blooms slow across her back, rust bleeding through cotton.]

Lu- [It has to come out. All of it.]

Lu- [I’ll tear it out if I have to.]

[Just as she raises the blade again—]

[The door SLAMS open.]

[Footsteps. Quick. Direct. A predator’s cadence.]

[Subaru appears—eyes locking instantly on her kneeling shape, blood thick in the air. Silver in hand.]

Subaru- Oi…

[No answer. She’s hunched forward, the blade shaking in her grip. Still digging.]

[He crosses the distance in three strides.]

Lu- [Too late.]

Lu- [Of course he saw. They always come when I’m already ruined.]

Subaru- Are you stupid?! You’re not supposed to actually—

[He grabs her wrist. His voice drops.]

Subaru- I told you—if you ever wanted to kill someone—

[He kneels beside her, eyes fixed. Fangs gritted behind parted lips.]

Subaru- It was supposed to be me, idiot. 

[He swallows hard. His throat clicks.]

Subaru- Tch… it reeks.

[A twitch at the corner of his mouth. Not quite hunger. Not quite pity. Something in between—but breaking fast.]

[He looks at her again—really looks.]

[The gash is raw. Pale skin open to the vein. Heat radiates from her like an altar still burning.]

Lu- [I thought he left.]

Lu- [I thought he was done with me.]

Lu- [But he looks like he can’t breathe.]

[Something in her stirs. Old. Wanting. Wrong.]

Subaru- You ruin everything. You always…

[His teeth bare. Sharp. Close.]

Lu- [His eyes are cruel when he’s afraid.]

Lu- [He doesn’t want to bite me.]

Lu- [But he wants to bite me.]

Lu- [So do it.]

[Suddenly—he grabs her. She gasps. Her balance shifts.]

[His mouth is on her shoulder before she can speak.] 

[The bite is vicious. Deep.]

[Pain explodes—bright and electric. Her body arches without meaning to.]

Lu- [He’s drinking again.]

Lu- [But this time it feels different. Like I made him fail.]

Lu- [The pain is there, but it isn’t. It folds into heat. It knows him.]

Subaru- [*pulling back, licking the wound*] Your body wants this.

Subaru- Like it’s waiting for me to mark it.

[She sways. Head light. Vision trailing off the edges.]

Lu- [He smells like stone soaked in winter. Like broken glass and heat at once.]

Lu- [His hands are hot. Rough. Not like a boy.]

Lu- [A man.]

Lu- [I was never meant to be anything. Not a wife. Not a girl. Not a soul.]

[She leans—slightly—toward his mouth. Her body betrays her.]

Lu- [I should pull away.]

Lu- [But if I move, he might stop.]

Lu- [And if he stops—what if I disappear again?]

[His hand slips beneath her collar. Fingers ghost over her spine.]

[He finds the raised lines. The stitched prayers. The preserved sacrilege.]

Lu- [They wanted to preserve me.]

Lu- [A promise, a prayer, a sacrifice.]

Lu- [But I wasn’t white enough.]

[He bites again—lower. Deeper. Over an old scar.]

Lu- [There.]

Lu- [Over the mark. Over hers.]

Subaru- You’re mine. Not hers. Not His.

Lu- [Let me be ruined. If it’s by you.]

Lu- [If I have to be desecrated again—let it mean something this time. Let it mean you see me.]

Lu- Just don’t stop.

[He hesitates. Then grabs her waist tighter, breathing harsher.]

[Another bite. Fiercer. A growl in his throat.]

[Her body folds forward under the force, boneless—but her lips part in something close to a smile.]

Lu- [I can’t feel the cold anymore.]

Lu- [Just heat. His mouth. My name inside him.]

Lu- [I’ll be anything. I’ll be nothing. Just keep looking at me like that.]

Lu- [If you’re going to bite me, then bite.]

[He stiffens—snarling low. The next bite comes fast, sharper, punishing.]

[She chokes on a breath—but doesn’t flinch.]

Lu- [That’s it. Now you’re honest.]

Lu- [That heat in you? I can take it. I want it.]

Lu- [Hurt me like I’m not sacred. Like I’m not yours. Like I’m not hers anymore.]

Update!!!

I love making these so much. Rambling about my progress on things is what motivates me to keep doing them. No clue how people keep projects 100% under wrap because that's not me.

So good news!! I worked on Alycia a little bit today. I think she'll take a little longer than Cecil did. I drew Cecil a billion times prior to his refs, but for Alycia, this is her second drawing, so there's still a bit of a learning curve.

Along with Alycia, I also did Hisui's first concept design. She's really close to how I want her. I think her hair is the only thing that still needs work, but that's to be expected. I'm going outside of my comfort zone with her by giving her curly hair.

I've also started planning for an oc fic. I'm writer first and foremost, and tbh having a detective oc means it'd be a crime if I didn't try my hand at a mystery. I've been studying them in order to figure out the basic formula.

So far, I know I want to split everything up into arcs and let the story unfold from there. Length will probably vary from arc to arc, but I know the first one will follow both Cecil's and Hisui's pov. Pov's will change arc to arc, but I'm pretty sure Cecil is going to have the most.

In other news, I've been thinking about the first oc I've ever made a lot again. He was for DL, but I'm thinking about transferring him and his brothers to khr. I redesigned him and his brothers last year, and the need to do stuff with them again is so real.

Does that mean I'm adding another project to my list? Yes...but it's worth it.

I also still have a bunch of asks I've been working on. I'm not starting the art until I feel a need to break from ocs, but the ship asks? I've been chipping away at them. I haven't felt well these last few days, but tbh what's taking so long is me rambling about the ships. This is probably my favorite ask meme to date. I'll have to hunt it down so I can reblog it again at a later date.
