The fact that someone decided that "the show thinks its not a big deal so you thinking something is a big deal is wrong" is an appropriate defence against the criticism "this show is inconsistent and bad in its handling of certain themes" is absolutely bizzare.
Statement of intent cannot in itself be an argument against the criticism of that intent.

i've gotten a couple sweet asks over the past few days/weeks asking about future relationships in the princess AU that seem to... imply an expected endgame with monogamous lumity and huntlow.... since a lot of new people are here from getting AU posts recommended to them, it's a good time to say 1) i'm a serial polyshipper, and 2) i'm a serial queerplatonic shipper
which means..... none of these kids are going to be monogamous. or partnered off apart from each other forever. to that end, hunter isn't ever going to be "less" important to luz than amity, willow isn't ever going to be "more" important to hunter than luz and amity, etc. i'd get both terribly bored and Desperately sad prioritizing monogamous romance over all the other entanglements happening here.
i AM likely to do some exploration of hunter and willow's relationship on its own because of how unbelievably funny it is for hunter to be like "oh. maybe i DO have certain feelings and think certain things about cuddling in bed with people. but... only.... one very specific people, at the moment. what..... do i do with this"
but like. my endgame agenda for this AU (and like, every other thing i ever write, ever) is to have a really impractical bedsharing arrangement between 478372 people. in the most giant bed of all time.
hunter/luz/willow/amity is So Important.

listen I could make this a literal essay but I won't. tl;dr: I don't get why people get so angry about the concepts of demons or monsters being nice. for starters, if you read mythology, demons are pretty fucking chill; it's not all about fucking with humans. plus it's so boring to see the same plot regurgitated in movies and whatnot about evil demons wanting to ruin humans lives or some crap like that.

that type of person where “if you show emotion in an argument you lose” except it’s with someone who’s learned enough therapy speak to weaponize it, so “if you don’t rationalize every emotion and cite exactly what they said (and what they MEANT) and have an explanation for why it was hurtful and a 12-step plan for what they should do in the future to rectify it, you’re actually the abuser and the manipulator and you lose.”

lackadaisy animation released...on the one hand this is so awesome to see as a long time fan and kickstarter backer on the other hand i can FEEL the mordecai sexymanification creeping up on us like a horror movie monster.

Behold, the obligatory double ask.
Why...do people think it's okay to give their children unrestricted internet access...??? I really wish people would teach their child what's appropriate to post on the internet. Seriously, as an previous "mommy gave me the iphone" kid it is NOT good to just..hand them a damn phone and not tell them what to do with it.
mostly clueless genX parents who cultivate this type of behavior. i'd know because i have those and ended up extremely fucked up as a result of what i saw when i was in, like, middle school, which is also why i'm so vocal about not letting it happen to anyone else
which is weir dbecause they would get pissed off at me for Exhibiting Symptoms Of Being Groomed Online but they never did anything about it other than block certain sites i didn't even visit in the first place
or they just don't care, which, i mean, a lot of parents just don't give a shit about the kid other than "get cps off of our asses"

Instead of spending more time hating this shit, I'm gonna do what I'm best at and completely ignore its existence. I refuse to have one of my most beloved story and universe being tarnished by capitalism once again. I will blissfully keep committing to the masterpieces that we already have.
