haii!!! time to be tortured by another comic for @shepscapades DBHC AU!!

i need to point out, this scene is ✨~NONCANON~✨ to the au, and is kinda just. well i really wanted to create a hypothetical 'what if' scenario to torture shep, honestly. That scenario being, in this case, "hey, what if when Doc and X reboot etho on s9 after the moon crash and he wakes up Wrong and Angry and Bloodlusty, he gets loose on the server before they can shut him down?"

so uh. yeah ^_^ also, look below the cut for ✨fun bonus facts!!✨ (because they got too long to put in the tags)

NUMBER 1!! it got hidden by the text bubble, but in the first panel bdubs is holding his phone. this is because, well, when etho gets out, doc and x immediately start warning ppl. sending messages in chat basically saying 'etho awake, he got out of the lab, something's wrong, he's glitched, he's dangerous, if you see him tell one of us immediately, and BE CAREFUL' and bdubs, of course, processes up to "etho's awake" before dropping everything and going to look everywhere for him. because that's his buddy! etho's been down for repairs for a while he misses him!! he's going to go see his buddy!

2!! in dbh (the actual game), when an android's stress level gets too high, they pretty much start looking for a way to terminate themselves. of course, i'm sure this holds no bearing to the comic! definitely no relation with etho throwing himself into pvp as his stress level skyrockets...

and 3! there's a couple of ways this can end. either, doc and x arriving and one of them having to hold bdubs back as the other deactivates etho, or, option 2, well... at least bdubs will respawn far away and not have to watch :) i'm sure this won't be traumatizing for either of them ^_^

Lore:

HC! Snail is a family of gastropods from the planet Exraterra. Snails are born in terrarium nests surrounded by their parents and their escargotiore (clan);

When Snails are old enough some choose to leave in little meteorite space ships to find humanoids to become their adopters, these escargotiores are called walks (Grian lore and my interpretation); They grow strong mutual bonds by imprinting (like Pokémon & Trainer "friendship");

Snails love annoying their adopter's friends, I believe this is because they can get attached to people really easily, but they use it as a form of reconn for the safety of their siblings (Grian's lore and also who wouldn't get attached to the hermits);

It has been documented that little G likes to eat buildings, materials include: rock types. They eat their meteorites (Gem's lighthouse);

Snails have the power to make duplicate illusions. But evidence is insufficient, documented once (little G seen at Gem's lighthouse and Doc's swamp at the same time);

Snail can teleport instantly if broken (When Grian broke them free from Gem's raft);

Little G is sometimes referred to as a fish, but we don't know if this is due to an unreliable narrator, or some hidden meaning (Grian called little G a fish when he noticed them on Gem's raft);

Snails can build very rudimentary things (Grian, Gem and Scar's stories)

Larry Jr is a Mega Giant snail, built by Ladypink and little G to prank scar.

Snails can be moved, we haven't been able to determine if this can be done by luring as well from picking them up, we believe it's mostly by picking them up due to the lack of a trail (Gem moving little G from her lighthouse to her raft and when gem rescued Ladypink Grian has also picked up little G multiple times);

the hermitcraft hyperfixation is taking hold,,,, season 10 is going to RUIN me

so far, i've been watching Grian, Mumbo, Scar, Joel, Etho, and Tango - I watched Doc's E1 but haven't watched his E2 yet, and I'm currently catching up on Xisuma's episodes (and considering adding Ren, Iskall, Gem, Skizz, and maybe BDubs and JoeHills to the list if I have the time to watch that many more)

for more context, this is the first season I'm watching ANYONE other than Grian's POV

honestly i'm just really happy to be getting into more of the hermits, because I've known I've enjoyed them from what I've seen on Grian's POV and the Life Series', just never got into their content

i'll probably update in a month or two with how many of them I manage to stay caught up on lmao

Zed is so plot averse he accidentally kicked the nHo off the server when they tried to add him to the group(in universe headcanon i made for what happened in season 5), so when season 8 rolled around, Grian and Doc had to look at him and say

plays bros meeting their counterparts would just be zaeden and zed exchanging awful innuendos or science memes there’s no in between while norman comforts worm man for also having an insane brother

and adding to that hypno sees zedaph and is shocked because this man has No swag. he’s always having fashion rivalries with zaeden but his counterpart just wears an ugly sweater all day

kasper meeting keralis is also just. endless innuendos and by the end of 5 minutes everyone’s so done with them both

wels and hels seeing their counterparts is like damn hels you’re not dead? never mind you look even more fucked up than usual

tango is slightly disappointed that lulu is bdubs’ horse but he ends up befriending her after giving her an apple

cleo is glad to see her counterpart still throws hands with jevin regularly (although he’s a slime and not radioactive)
