Okay before anything else, I would like to clarify that these tips help me. These are techniques that work for me. If they don't work for you or they're not your style, then don't fret! (That doesn't in any way imply that you can't get your life together.) If you find that these tips aren't for you, don't force yourself to follow them! These are just gentle suggestions that you may or may not try out! I hope you guys enjoy!
What's this post about?
Sometimes we just reach that point in our daily living where we're so overwhelmed by almost everything that we don't really know where to start or what to do. In this post, I just wanna give some suggestions that might help you sort out the things you need to do! There’ll also be some handy links at the end of the post!
1. Tie your hair and put on a new shirt.
You will feel much much much better after fixing up your hair and putting on something fresh. No, it won't clear the skies or feed all of Africa, but it will set an "I can accomplish a lot" mood. You'll be at your most productive state if you just feel good in general. And if not good, at least fresh. Wash your face, comb your hair, brush your teeth, drink water, etc. TAKE A SHOWER. Wash away the stress and scrub the burdens off your shoulder. You'll feel really motivated to get down to work, believe me.
2. Clean your room.
Now that your freshening up has (hopefully) motivated you to get some stuff done, straighten up your room or study/work space. Your environment has a direct effect on your productivity according to several studies and articles like this one. If you work in an organized and clean area, your productivity levels will surely go up! Really take the time to go through your old belongings. Put everything in its proper place. Get rid of old clothes that you don't wear anymore (honey, if you haven't worn it in 6 months, you're never gonna wear it). Make sure also that you maintain it (easier said than done, I know). Cleaning your room will also help you gradually get into a working mood, so it'll be easier for you to start working on other tasks.
TIP: Play some fun and peppy music while you're cleaning your room for an extra mood boost.
3. Write out everything in your mind.
Sit down and get comfy. Pull out any piece of paper, can be anything from an old receipt to your favorite stationery pad. Now write. Write down…
everything you have to do urgently, in the near future, in the far future. > e.g. finish an assignment, set up an appointment with the dentist, get into college/find a job
anything that's bothering you or lingering in your mind > e.g. how your crush just followed you back on twitter, how scary it is to send an email to adults
things that you absolutely cannot forget > e.g. return that library book, friend's bday is coming up soon (gotta get a gift!), there's an important test coming up
thoughts, feelings, opinions, irrelevant things > e.g. school's tiring you out, politics are driving you nuts, the stray cat on your road seems kinda hungry today
JUST WRITE THEM ALL. In my opinion, it's better to have your thoughts all laid out visible on paper rather than having them swimming in and out of your mind. Once they're on paper, you can let your mind rest a bit from holding in so much information. Don't write your thoughts in any particular order. Just write your ideas as they pop into your head. It may seem unsystematic for some of you, but just wait until the next point!
4. Organize your mind.
Now get a clean sheet of paper and organize your thoughts—tasks, dates, ideas/opinions, misc.
Tasks: Hopefully you've heard of the Eisenhower Box. If not, do not fear, for I will explain it!
So make this nifty table on your new sheet of paper, and organize your tasks accordingly! But first, expand. If you have quite abstract tasks like "get into college" break these tasks into smaller tasks like "review for entrance exams" or "fill out application," and then classify those tasks into the table.
after categorizing your tasks, make a to-do list! (There are many ways to make a to-do list. What I usually do is start with the easy/fun tasks first then list the more challenging/time-consuming ones last. However, this is up to you! Explore what works for you.)
Dates: Have you considered investing on those really big wall calendars? You should!! Get a big wall calendar and hang it up in your room so you can see it every morning and every night. Fill in the dates with appointments, test days, deadlines, birthdays, and anything else! Having a calendar will help you visualize how much time you have left before a certain event. If you can't get a calendar, other alternatives include a planner, your phone calendar, and/or an online calendar (like Google calendar).
Ideas/Opinions: I'd recommend using a journal (traditional or digital) to keep a record of your thoughts! It's very good to clear your mind of these if you wanna delegate more of your thinking powers on another task. You can also talk to other people! Maybe you've been really bothered by something happening in your life that you really wanna let out. Look for trustworthy companions that you can confide in. After a long hearty talk, you'll be ready to conquer the day once again!
Misc: Anything else that hasn't been covered in the previous categories can be written here. It'll be for you to decide how to proceed with these notes.

i’ve been dealing w/a lot of anxiety l8ly!!! wooooO!OO!!! it’s definitely 100% abt uni starting in less than a month!!! jeez!!! but it’s fine, everything is fine. everything will b fine, esp if u use these self-care tips :-)
go 2 slp early. haha, good one, ik. but 4 real dudes - i was upset 1 time, texting my friend abt being upset, n he goes, “u always text me when ur upset which is always like 2 in the morning” n i was like “dude i think ur onto smthin” n he was like “yea i know.” l8 nights can make u feel lonely n afraid, n cause u to get less slp.
write what ur feelin! it can b by hand or by computer - i type fast so computer is nice when u just have sooo many feelings n u needta get them out right away ! this is called “stream of consciousness” where u just write whatever pops to ur mind n hopefully smthin will pop up that makes u aware n calm.
cut out social media ! idk abt u guys but it’s summer so i have a lot of time 2 b creepin ppl on social media n feelin fomo n just generally feelin like shit. soooo i killed all my streaks, deleted my insta app. felt gr8; 10/10 would recommend
laugh!! do a hahahaha!!! i luv watchin tv n youtube videos - n obviously it’s not productive if u do this 4 hrs a day but just watch things that make u smile :-) i’m particularly prone to 1 night 2 days rn but that’s a korean show soooo u find what works 4 u boo <3
msg some1 u love. sm1 who makes u feel safe, treasured, n important. i say this every time but u can msg me if u want to talk. i think it’s rlly important 2 not let things get bottled up. bcos then explosion n that’s usually quite bad.
slight alternative: hug some1 u love. smtimes, ur not rdy to talk abt smthing that has hurt u. hugging sm1 helps - for 7 seconds or longer (idk y, some science) !!
take care of urself. ik, ik, it’s rlly hard, but if u can manage it... do the basic things, 1 step at a time. wash ur face. make ur bed. eat right foods. drink water. go outside. wear clothes that make u feel bomb. u r bomb. u r strong. u will get thru this my friend <3

i’ve been having a typical teen existential crisis l8ly so wooooooooo so i’ve been thinking about a lot of things so here is my general advice i have learned in my 17 years of livin’ :-)
SKIN IS JUST SKIN!!! every1 gets pimples once in a while n it is a ok a ok a ok. iz just skin. just skin! iz ok.
holy cRAP u feel shit about urself b/c u feel insecure & jealous of someone over the internet!11!!1!!! holy cRAP me 2!!! take some time to regroup & remember what’s important. get off social media, take a walk, do what makes u happy. when u feel better, go back.
save ur moneh $$$$ life is expensive yo (esp uni holy hECK)
make the right choice. when ur debatin abt smthing, think 2 urself, “hmmmmmm... what’s the right choice?” & just do it. u will feel sm better i promise bb
b a person of their word. don’t b flakey. nobody likes flakiness. if ur not a person of ur word, ur kind of an asshole. u can’t b trusted. idk i h8 flaky ppl
where u go to uni/what u major in does not define ur life most ppl change careers anyway :-)
trust people until they give u a reason not to. aft that b skeptical.
find a reason 2 keep u going. it doesn’t have 2 keep u going 4 ur entire life. a tv show on monday’s makes u look forward 2 monday’s? wonderful. fantastic. excited 2 go to school just 2 c ur friends? great. keep that close 2 ur heart.
take time 2 grow who u r. when u grow who u r, and expand, u will not b threatened when u lose one aspect. b open 2 change :-)

it's almost the end of the school year, babes. you all have worked so hard. i know it's not been easy all the time. i know it's hard to find that balance between your schoolwork and the rest of your life. i know you hear the loud opinions of your relatives and teachers and strangers who barely know you about what career path you should take. i know you worry about what the future holds for you. i know sometimes you've cried yourself to sleep from stress. i know it's been very hard. we're almost at the end, though. one last push and then you are done and you will feel so free ✨ i am proud of you, babes. i really am. when you finish and you feel fantastic, give yourself time to rest, okay? read some books, watch some movies, hang out with your friends, get out of the house. i love u 💗🌸

sometimes you fall down in life and it sucks!!!!!! like it’s actually terrible but... hey. u gotta get back up champ bc u r a STAR. in other words, i have fallen down recently and this is how i plan on getting back up. bc i am a star.
starting easy
clean your room bc outer peace brings inner peace
clean yourself bc outer peace brings inner peace and this means removing your makeup washing your face brushing your teeth combing your hair wearing nice-smelling clothes
drink a glass of water because hydration. important.
play a happy song like rlly whatever u want that makes u happy and want to dance
i know this might sound hard but like u got this i believe in u
moving on
ok this is hard part but u still got this love
think about everything that is wrong literally like EVERYTHING but maybe not everything bc maybe it will stress you out but maybe writing it will be cathartic whatever works for u
find solutions for those problems
i know i make it sound super easy and i know it’s actually really hard but usually u know what the solution is just something is holding u back
so rlly decide that that is the solution
tell urself, “this is how i am going to fix this”
to make this very hard and difficult step, please be nice to yourself by listening to cool tunes and rocking eyeliner
it rlly helps
organising your thoughts is also useful bc organisation
i have heard a bullet journal is rlly gr8 for this because like u get to plan ur days but also write random crap that’s not actually random crap but instead very good crap like “how to cheer up when sad” it’s all there in one notebook !!! radical eh
the step where you get back up
set urself up for success by sleeping early and waking up early bc sleep is like soooOo important u have no idea
exercise bc endorphins and all that good stuff and drink water and eat yo vegetables
do the shit that u planned to do in the previous step even if it’s hard i know it’s hard life is hard but u r hardier u r a star
stay on track
k so a lot of ppl r like “discipline > motivation” which i 100% agree but like motivation is also nice
have someone believe in u/someone u can talk to and be ur ray of sunshine like this is rlly helpful
find a purpose for whatever u want to do like what is ur reason for going through the shitty path of life and choosing this hard decision
typical motivational quotes like idk about u but i fall for those every single time
pep talk urself and fake enthusiasm even if u don’t want to like isn’t it radical how the only person holding u back is u
forgive yourself
ur life will go on track and then back off again!!! bc u r a human and humans make mistakes
don’t u get all mopey on urself and be like “i have ruined my life” like stop being so dramatic tough love ik but like U R ALIVE AND THAT MEANS U GTA KEEP KICKIN AT SMTHING
u can mope for a bit and when u do mope mope ur heart out like cry and use tissues and whatever u need but like limit ur moping period bc u need to move on
bad things will happen to u bc life and no matter how much ppl want to help u only u can rlly help urself

life has gone to shit in the past few weeks and so i decided to start waking up early and taking charge of my life. it’s going ok so far. i am a night owl, though, soooo listen to me my tips work y’all
getting ur sleep hours
okok so iK that this is not always possible n u stay up late doing crap for school or smthing BUT
waking up early becomes so much better and easier and calmer when u get ur hours ok
find out how many hours u need (varies from person to person; me it’s 8 hours which kills me bc so much frigggging time)
depending on what time u want to wake up at, calculate it backwards and this new hour is ur hour that u absolutely cannot stay up past*
(* unless u absolutely absolutely have to. i understand that sometimes u just have too much stuff to do and u gta get it done. so in that case u would have to go to sleep as early as u can - meaning after ur deadline has passed, u focus focus focus n don’t do shenanigans.)
the idea here is u want a routine ok bc ur body likes routines ur brain likes routines and eventually it’ll wake up naturally at the time
ur alarm
this can either go both ways, whatever works 4 u:
make it RLLY RLLY shrilly n hella annoying that u hate it and u go and turn it off
warning: this can backfire bc u just turn it off and don’t actually wake up
or u make it like soft and happy and pretty
warning: similarly this can backfire bc u r still sleepy bc soft and happy and pretty
either way!!!!!!! DO NOT HIT THE SNOOZE
u made the promise to urself to wake up early, honour it. don’t be a shitty person who can’t keep their word. (look @ me guilting u)
some ppl like their alarms far but i don’t have enough self control for that lol like my alarm is my phone n getting out of bed b4 sleep to put my phone across the room eh
ur awake. now what?
ur probably still sleepy af bc ur a sleep-deprived person who would ideally be sleeping but u persevere my friend
ok first thing u do is get out of bed bc the bed is ur enemy and it distracts u ok it sucks!!!!!!!!!
couple things to stay awake:
in the winter especially i blast light in my face 2 tell my brain “yooo it’s like the day now can u wake the hell up” and then serotonin comes in and it’s like “yooo ty”
wash my face w/cooold (diduthinkiwasgnasaycool) water bc that wakes u up !!! if u’ve ever been woken up w/water!!! yes it works !!!
some ppl r like exercise but be warned: this only works if ur body is somewhat used 2 exercise like mine is not and so exercising in the morning just makes me tired tbh
stimulate ur mind ya ok some ppl r against electronics in the morning but idk watching a funny vid or smthing cheers me up a lot (laughing!!! important)
rewards
bc we r humans driven by desires i make like a nice breakfast that i like w/like fruits and like good things and it makes me feeling nice n it’s usually rlly tasty
things i like to eat: berry smoothies, burrito wraps, congee, dates lol i’m obsessed w/dates rn
sometimes i also plan my outfit n i’m like yooooooo i look so good and it gets me feeling rl nice
i also have a short impromptu dance party bc like i can afford it w/the time i have now like i don’t listen to music that much anymore :( but now i have a special time to dedicate to music and dance and it’s gr8
final words
pls persevere; habits r not made overnight n u will miss some days n it will be totally ok
sunrises r nice to actually see and it’s x108908394 easier in the winter bc later sunrise time soooo js
my best friend just texted me “can we nap together tmrw” and that pretty much sums us up idk why that’s relevant but s.o. to him !!!
i rlly want a burrito rn

reminder: there exists such thing called the halo effect, which means that u see someone with a trait so u think it influences another trait somehow. like “that girl is rlly good at math she must be good at english too and play piano rlly well and be a tennis star” and ya no. it is especially prominent when u see pretty people, but i think it applies with studyblrs a lot too. and the halo effect shouldn’t be a bad thing rlly, only that when it happens u run the risk of comparing and comparing is terrible.
bottom line: just because someone has pretty handwriting or pretty notes or pretty pictures or a lot of followers or a lot of money or a lot of muji stationary does not mean that they r perfect or that u r inferior. they r not perfect. nobody is perfect. u r not inferior. u r wonderful. u r a star.
*bc i know someone is going to get offended probably: people who have all of these things have worked hard for them (at least, someone has, in the money case), and i am not trying to discredit ur hard work. i am trying to give a little love to the people who feel sad that they have not achieved that, and remind them to keep their chin up high. hopefully that comes across :)

well poop. i’ve been going through a crappy situation for the past few days, and honestly, it’s draining me. i hate it. it’s blocking me from doing the things i want to do. i don’t think i can conquer it completely rn, but what i can do is prevent it from living my life!!! so here is my guide 2 how i am gna do dis:
simple things
i’m kind of at that point where i don’t wna do anything bc i am just so down but this is sO dumb literally 0/10 would recommend
take a shower!! it is so calming and metaphorical like u rinse dirt off ur body n u rinse dirt off ur mind yk
get out of ur bed
make sure ur body is in tip top physical shape aka
eat
drink
make sure ur temp is right (esp bc summer!!! my lord it is hot)
stop playing dat sad music i recommend music that u looOooOoOove (4 me it is kpop idk sm of it is trash ik but like it just gets me feeling pumped~~)
cheer up // twice
bang bang bang // big bang
dope // bts
pls get out of ur bed. ik it is warm. ik it is comfy. ik u feel invincible there. ik u say to urself that u can get out of bed later. bc u could. but just get out and then stay out of it just to prove to me that u can, ok. bc if u stay there 2 long u do nothing and nothing happens
cheering up
do something u RLLY like n that makes u smile a lot. 4 me this is reading chick lit like holy crap sophie kinsella gives me warm n fuzzy feels (i rec all her books bc they r just warm fuzzies ok)
(if ur crappy situation is a RL situation that u need 2 fix): ignore it for a bit. just a bit. idk how long is good for u. but u need to cool down, get ur spirits back up b4 u can deal w/it properly, ok? ok.
go 4 a walk. i find that even if ur in a crappy mood at the beginning of a walk being in nature can help. i mean smtimes i get super annoyed bc mosquitos bugs heat whtvr but yk just get sm fresh air
hey do smthing productive!! ik it is summer n no schoolwork but maybe u have sm schoolwork n just take a tiny step towards doing it or update ur resume or do smthing productive it can distract u + make u feel accomplished = win win
actually fixing ur crappy situation
b sure that u r calm now and u can think things through logically and reasonably
ok. brainstorm possible solutions. write down what u r willing 2 compromise on, and what u r not, aka rule out sm solutions
find a solution, now do it!
important: rlly forgive. rlly move on. don’t slap band aid. if u r in crappy mood, U r the loser!!! u want to win. u want to go on w/ur life bc u r a star.
do not be mean. u hv right 2 feel crappy!!! but find strength in urself 2 forgive, 2 be generous, 2 be kind.
later on reflect on what u hv learned in a lil journal or talking to a friend or smthing :) :) :)
lil reminder things (seem contradictory; r not)
taking the time to mope n b sad n dwell on it is beneficial bc u need that time to accept n move on BUT my friend u cannot linger 4 too long bc then it starts eating u
smtimes u need sm time to sort of mull a crappy situation over in ur mind and get on w/ur life b4 u do anything abt it just to hv that distance so u can b more calm n logical
u can bounce back frm ANYTHING literally u r such a star i know things r hard 4 u rn but u can do it my lil star
i am a rlly low-energy lazy person n my trick 4 forcing myself to do things smtimes is i imagine i am pikachu like in the anime abt to do a thundershock and i imagine myself getting all this energy and abt to go pikaaCHUUUUU and then i make myself do it it’s like my pep talk ya

i’ve kinda bcome a lowkey tumblr kid and that means writing emotional things @ 2am in my notebook and notebooks mean NOTEBOOKS and there’s a lot of diff things to do in journals that r sooo muchhhh funnn omg so here r my favourite ideas:
dream journal
i don’t rlly dream often tbh which is why it’s such a big deal for me when i do and i’ve been writing down my dreams whenever i have them which is SuPEs good bc the other day i had a dream i was d8ng bobby n it was so cute omg fml
if u do it daily, it’s rlly fun to look back at!!!!!
recipe journal
i’m like apparently a big kid now n that means cooking n ya. it sucks. i h8 cooking so much but i gta do it. perks r i like making cakes n that can go in ur recipe journal ALSO!!
if u have fam traditional recipes that u can’t remember bc ur not a cook yet n u forget things (HOW DOES MY MOM REMEMBER 92374283749 RECIPES) here is the place 2 put them :)))))
health journal
trying 2 do this thing currently where i don’t get fat unfit sO this is nice
track down ur water intake, ur meals, workouts, visits to doc, any meds mayb, health card, etc.
writing down ur meals helps 4 me so i don’t eat anything unhealthy bc i don’t like writing down that i had 5 chocolate cakes (which i do on occasion anyway but..)
short journal
a.k.a one sentence journal but one sentence is kinda short
4 those who want to keep a journal but not write 4 028394023849 minutes a day
this is neat
how i would do this is u write for like 3 minutes or however long time-wise or however long word-wise or sentence-wise
but just keep it short! n snappy! :)))))))))))
art journal
these r soOOoOOOooOooOOOOOOOO cool but unfort i’m not tumblr enough to keep an artsy hippy one aka i suck @ art but u prob don’t!!! also who cares it’s UR journal

reading journal
this would b cool if i had the time/effort/energy/wasn’t lazy
idk if u all have seen MUGGLEHUSTLE on twitter but they read harry potter and did commentary while reading it n i think that’s supes cool y’all
writing it in a journal seems a bit annoying
so i’d go w twitter
but if u can write it super quick n short n snappy i think it’d be cool to read back ur thoughts when u were reading a book 4 the first time
time journal
idk this is such a tumblr-y thing but BASICALLy u just pick a time of day (eg. 7:23 am) n write ur thoughts for that one minute
u can cheat n go longer if u want but not rlly don’t do that cheating bad
i think it would b nifty
bullet journal
we all knew this 1 was cming!!!!
but basically it’s like a super hip agenda where u customize everything
pros: u customize everything
cons: u customize everything (aka u could have a bad aesthetic!!!)
but it’s good i like it bc it’s me customizing everything and that way i can just complain about myself instead of a company
n it’s good for like task-y people (to-do lists and such)
tbh idk if i even use mine properly but there r hella lotta posts on this :):)

i bought like 3 moleskines and i’m like trying to set up a bullet journal in one (wild friday nights) and i don’t have a good feeling about this because like aesthetic but also like not artistic or patient enough for it does anyone feel this? it is called the bullet journal problem
