Had a great weekend after quite a while alhamdulillah✨ I worked on a dress for me and a nightgown for my mom, attended my classes, and got to take a walk near the water while surrounded by nature 🌿!

i rested a lot today, which was needed since i feel pretty much back to normal now! my migraine 'hangovers' don't normally last more than a day or two, so i guess this was a particularly nasty one. hard to not feel like this weekend was a 'waste' because of it--i still did things i needed to get done, but the pain in my head and behind my eyes was very...limiting and i don't feel like i made the most of my time. but then again, it's the summer and i only have one class to worry about and also i'm gonna have to hustle next summer so i should really just enjoy this one the best i can so i should let myself take it easy sometimes. well, between naps i did get most of my classwork done, so i'm all good for tomorrow's lab and to do my hw for wednesday. i also started another new book! i'm excited to be whittling down my tbr list finally lol

I'm starting virtual rotations + have a bunch of interviews scheduled over the next several weeks, so I'm looking forward to getting back to basics: good sleep, good food, exercise, hobbies, etc. after a busy weekend.

wednesday, february 21st, 2024 | 26/100 days of productivity

I got very distracted this morning looking through the catalog of no starch press books (do I need a book on ARM assembly right now? absolutely not. do I want one? yes) but I managed to get some things done today!

today's productivity & self-care:

finally made some progress on some work projects that felt stuck

went on a nice lunchtime walk (I passed 4 dogs and observed what I'm pretty sure was a tufted titmouse!)

finally finished the labs for section 4 & made anki cards

had a doctor's appointment & I'm feeling optimistic about ways to deal with my frequent headaches :')

I've always wanted to be punk or a rebel. I wanted to be edgy and go against the grain.

However I've never been rude and bold enough to be agressive or destructive. I've never been brave enough to be loud or go to protests.

But as I got older I figured out the kind defiance I actually enjoy. Being obnoxiously nice and kind whenever faced with someone rude.

I'm naturally very polite and I like to think I'm nice to people in general. However I LOVE when people are rude, a little mean perhaps and I get to smile and thank them extra loud. Perhaps ask about their day and joke around a little. The world has been cruel and difficult to deal with and kindness is a best way to fight.

So I'll continue to ask the mean nurse how she's doing. I'll thank the rude bus driver extra cheerfully for the ticket. And I'll feel a lot of petty joy when they finally smile back. Gotcha

today was a 30% energy level day, and I suppose I gave 25%.

studied for this week's physics lab, there's a viva too

finished liminf, limsup theory. did not do any psets. read a bit of subsequences.

already have tomorrow's to-do's ready. hoping to do better tomorrow.

woke up at 11:00 . then i touched water and suddenly decided to be a person again.

cleaned. bathed. brushed. walked my fluffy daughter. made her food with love like i wasn’t dissociating 3 mins before. ⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾

⋆⭒˚｡⋆｡𖦹 ̫ 𖦹 night routine activated: korean study, pills, stretches, journaling... i did all of it. again. why am i doing this. i don’t know. it feels right. like. a ritual. like trying not to die .

they’re so soft. so hardworking. they wake up at 6am and boil sweet potatoes for no reason. they romanticize folding towels. i want that power. i want to fold my reality into something bearable.
