au to Love in the Dark
Y/N stood under the brilliant lights of the Dolby Theatre, clutching her Oscar with a trembling hand. Her heart soared with a mix of disbelief and euphoria. The crowd's applause washed over her, a tidal wave of validation for years of relentless dedication and hard work. As she delivered her acceptance speech, she radiated confidence and joy, the picture of success and happiness.
It hadn't always been this way. Just a few years ago, Y/N had been entwined in a tumultuous relationship with Charles Leclerc, the rising star of Formula 1. Their love affair had been the stuff of tabloids—glamorous, passionate, and ultimately, tragic. Charles had cheated on her multiple times, shattering her trust and breaking her heart. The breakup had been public and messy, leaving Y/N to pick up the pieces of her life while under the scrutiny of the media.
But Y/N was resilient. She threw herself into her work, channeling her pain into her performances. Each role she took on was a step towards healing, a way to reclaim her narrative. Over time, her talent shone through, earning her critical acclaim and adoration from fans worldwide. She moved on, building a life that was rich and fulfilling, far removed from the shadows of her past.
Charles, on the other hand, struggled. His career, once so promising, had hit a series of stumbling blocks. Despite his undeniable skill, he couldn't secure the elusive championship win. His seat in the prestigious Ferrari team was at risk, his future in the sport uncertain. The pressures of the racing world, combined with his personal regrets, weighed heavily on him.
As Y/N celebrated her Oscar win, Charles watched through the screen, a pang of bittersweet regret piercing his heart. He couldn't help but reflect on their time together and the choices he had made. Seeing Y/N so radiant and successful was a stark reminder of what he had lost. His career might be on the line, but it was the emptiness in his personal life that haunted him most.
Y/N, now surrounded by supportive friends and family, had found a new love—one that respected and cherished her. She no longer needed to look back. The future was bright, and she was ready to embrace it with open arms. As she left the stage, her Oscar in hand, she knew she had won more than just an award. She had won her happiness, her freedom, and her life back

joshuahalling 2023 sort of feels like a wild blur. 2022 and the first @louist91 world tour was an absolute rollercoaster that grew so big and so fast for a lot of us that with the ‘Faith in the Future’ world tour following it up sharply in 2023, it just felt like an extension of the chaos and we only really fully stopped back to back tours just now leading up to this christmas!
In between all of that mayhem though, I was honoured and massively baffled to have been nominated for @iheartradio favourite photographer last year, just being nominated was amazing but to spend a few days in LA seeing old friends, creating new ones and attending the event at the Dolby Theatre made it really a once in a lifetime thing for a photographer from Cornwall who feels like he’s been winging it for 10 years now… so it’s very bloody surreal today to have been nominated for a 2nd year in a row! This is all with serious thanks to the legend @louist91, his team for trusting me on the visuals for these tours, our phenomenal road crew who make these shows so amazing to shoot and honestly the most passionate and supportive fanbase Louis has created around him who are the reason this whole thing is even a thing. A double bonus is that ‘All Of These Voices’ is also nominated for best film which I was fortunate to film some bits alongside @charlielightening so definitely a big celebration. anyway this is all a massive ramble, basically…
It’s a little different to last year, votes are now strictly on the iHearts website which i’ll have in stories/etc. and quite restrictive to certain areas of the world unfortunately but there are ways around that. Each person can vote once per day from today till March 25th!
And last but not least, just wanted to say i’m surrounded by some insane talent and peers I look up to in this realm so please make sure you check out all their work during this process! So thank you @iheartradio for creating this category once again.

Gold Dust Woman
Pairing: rockstar!joel miller x actress!reader
Author’s note: oh you can’t pay me to stop writing these two now
Summary: Oscars season with Joel [1.1k]
Warnings: anxiety, two idiots being grossly in love
Tumblr media
You're on set when you find out you got nominated for an Oscar. Hannah, your director, stopped the scene but made sure the cameras were still rolling as she walked up to you. "The Academy just nominated you for Best Actress for The Beginning of the End." She told you, and you immediately burst into tears. The cast comes out from every corner of the sound stage to hug you and tell you how excited they are for you. It's a beautiful moment surrounded by love and pride, and you struggle to keep the Oscars out of your head as you try to go back to work. Joel buys you flowers and takes you and the girls to a nice dinner the night you find out about the nomination.
You're a nervous wreck in the weeks leading up to the award show. Sierra tries to tell you to enjoy the night and not worry about the outcome, but it's hard. Winning an Oscar has been your dream since you were a kid, and the idea that you're this close is freaking you out. You spend your time working, probably a little more than you should, and putting together an outfit for the night. If you're gonna lose, you might as well look good doing it.
On the day of the Oscars, you spend the whole day getting ready, letting your stylist and makeup artists take over the process so you don't have to worry. They put you in a stunning royal blue dress with gold embellishments adorning the bust and the skirt. Joel matches with a suit made specifically for him from the same fabric as your dress with the matching embellishments over his shoulders. He even put his own touch to his jacket, adding a rainbow pin to his lapel to show support for Ellie, who recently came out. His new favorite thing is finding anything with a rainbow on it for him or Ellie and wearing it proudly, so you're not too surprised when you catch him adding it to his jacket.
You each take some glam shots in your house before leaving for the Dolby Theatre, your knee bouncing anxiously the whole ride over. Joel is the perfect distraction with his touselled curls and sleek black sunglasses covering his eyes. He looks annoyingly hot and is the most perfect supportive partner ever, promising to love you still, no matter the outcome. You're only slightly frustrated with how attracted you are to him. When you get to the red carpet, he lets you take all the solo shots before you finally convince him that it's okay to come to take pictures with you. "I didn't wanna be in the way!" He says, making you laugh.
You get to meet celebrities you've never gotten to meet before, and you also get to see lots of old friends. When Jack Nicholson casually offers you a sip of whiskey from his hidden flask, you decide you've officially made it. You and Joel do the Glambot with him spinning you under his arm, showing off how your dress flows, and he waits patiently while you do interviews talking about what a privilege it is to be nominated and how excited you are to see everybody. By the time you're able to get into the Dolby Theatre and sit at your table, you're still incredibly nervous, but you feel a little bit better. Wine helps too.
You have two glasses with dinner before deciding to stop so you wouldn't be too drunk in case you do win. Joel is incredibly affectionate as you sit there with anxiety rolling off you in waves. He holds your hand, kisses your cheek, rubs your knee, anything to get your mind off how slow the categories are moving. When they finally get the Best Actress category, he grabs your hand in both of his and squeezes as they announce all the names. The women you're nominated alongside are extremely talented people who've been in the industry twice as long as you have. Their movies have made you cry, laugh, smile, and rethink your life, and isn't that what the best art is supposed to do?
"And the Oscar goes to..." the announcer says as he opens the envelope. You keep an even face, knowing the cameras are pointed at you, as you squeeze Joel's hand with every bit of strength. The second you hear your name, your ears ring, and the world explodes into white noise. Carolina and Ryan jump up and down from one table away, and the people you've modeled your career after are standing and applauding you. You find your feet and stand, hugging and kissing Joel before he escorts you to the front of the stage, falling back as you reach the stairs. The announcers hug you and hand you the heavy gold statue and the card with your name on it. They step aside and let you have the floor as a timer behind the camera counts down.
"Wow. Oh, my God. This is incredible," you say breathlessly. "Um, I'd like to thank the Academy for this amazing opportunity. I'm so honored to be nominated alongside some of the best actresses of our time, and I don't know if I will ever do anything as cool as this. When I made this movie, I was in a really weird headspace, and I didn't know how to bring this story to life, but I knew I wanted to do and I wanted to do it justice. Our director, Lilah Hanover, helped me do some incredible character work and gave me the space to try new things. I owe you my life, Mrs. Hanover. I want to thank my parents for letting me move to New York City and start my career. Ryan and Carolina, you guys have been my best friends since the beginning, and I couldn't imagine doing life without you," you speed up as your timer ticks down, and you try to go through your list.
"I couldn't have done this without my amazing team of people who support me every day and allow me to create art that makes me feel like I'm doing something worthwhile. I love what I do, and I never take it for granted. Um, to Sarah and Ellie Miller, I'm so honored to be in your lives, and I love you forever. Joel Miller," you find his eyes as he sits at the bottom of the stage, and you smile. "You are my rock, my safe place, my second chance, everything. There are no words to describe how much I love you, but I will spend the rest of my life trying to find them. Thank you." With that, the music plays out, and you follow the announcers backstage, where you look at your Oscar for the very first time and burst into tears.
Bonus: instagram stories after your win 😌

Why hoping Lily Gladstone won an Oscar does not equal valuing race over talent.
Social media is never a great place to have discussions about race and culture. The real issues at hand are way too nuanced and detailed for outrage factories like X/Twitter and Instagram to handle.
Still, I was disappointed to see so many people – perhaps willfully – missing the point online when discussion rose after the Oscars about Lily Gladstone failing to win best actress honors.
No doubt, a win for Gladstone – who would have been the first Native American woman to earn a major acting Oscar – also would have felt like a serious triumph for champions touting the power of diversity in film.
Feeling the love big time today, especially from Indian Country. Kittō”kuniikaakomimmō”po’waw - seriously, I love you all ❤️ (Better believe when I was leaving the Dolby Theater and walked passed the big Oscar statue I gave that golden booty a little Coup tap - Count: one 😉)
— Lily Gladstone (@lily_gladstone) March 12, 2024
Those of us who clock these things regularly knew that Emma Stone’s turn in Poor Things was most likely to spoil that scenario. Stone offered a showy-yet-accomplished performance as a singular character in an ambitious, creatively weird production. A much-loved past winner delivering a career-best effort, she was just the kind of nominee that Oscar loves to reward. And, as Vulture pointed out, modern Oscar voters seem to enjoy turning against expectations in big moments like this.
But when I expressed those feelings online – that Stone was marvelous and more than earned the award, but the Oscar academy really missed a chance to make history by overlooking Gladstone’s more subtle, quietly powerful turn in a better movie – the knives came out.
The gist of most negative reactions was the implication that I and others lamenting her loss were insisting that ethnicity should trump talent. As if the only or most important reason that an indigenous woman could be nominated for such a lofty award, is by people trying to bring social justice to the Oscars. (I guess Gladstone’s wins as best actress at the Golden Globes and Screen Actors Guild awards, among others, were also nods to diversity?)
As if it couldn’t be possible that perhaps -- just perhaps -- some racial cultural preferences were mixed up in Oscar voters’ attraction to the story of a beautiful, young white woman who has loads of sex while learning to define herself in a male dominated world.
What really disappointed me, however, was reading an analysis which reached all the way back to the 2017 Oscars to imply that one reason Barry Jenkins’ masterpiece Moonlight won best picture honors over La La Land was the pressure to bring social justice to the Oscars.
Tumblr media
Talk about missing the point by a mile. What I’m driving at, when I advocate for contenders like Gladstone, Barry Jenkins and Jeffrey Wright, isn’t a finger on the scale to make up for past exclusion.
It’s a plea for Oscar voters to see these performances the way I and so many other people actually see them.
I still remember watching last year’s version of The Color Purple in a screening alongside lots of folks from Black fraternity and sorority organizations. And when the moment arrived where Danielle Brooks’ character intoned about her husband, “I loves Harpo — God knows I do — but I’ll kill him dead before I let him or anybody beat me,” it felt like the whole theater said those words with her. That’s how iconic those lines -- first spoken on film by Oprah Winfrey in the 1985 production – have become for Black America.
youtube
That same feeling came after I first saw Cord Jefferson’s brilliant American Fiction, centered on a frustrated, floundering Black writer who creates a stereotypical parody of a Black novel as a dark joke, only to see it become a best seller. I felt as if Jefferson had pulled the same bait-and-switch with his movie that his lead character managed onscreen – using the outrageous premise to draw us all into a more subtle and deliberately powerful story of a Black man struggling to connect with his family after huge losses.
I needed three attempts to get through watching all of Gladstone’s work in Killers of the Flower Moon. Not because the movie was so long I had to “get my mail forwarded to the theater,” like Oscars host Jimmy Kimmel joked. But because it was so hard for me to watch a film centered on the historic exploitation and murder of Native American people by white men.
It sounds like a simple idea, but it’s worth repeating: evocative moments in films will speak differently to different people.
Sometimes, when I’m pushing for a win in an awards category, or championing a particular project, it’s not because I’m putting a finger on the scale for the sake of equality. It’s because I’m more invested in that story than some others because of who I am. And I’m challenging some people, who might not see their cultural preferences as preferences, to consider exactly why they love one thing over another.
In many ways, it is sad to see great artists pitted against each other in these contests. Comparing the delightful, dangerous absurdity of Poor Things to the gritty, punishing tone in Killers of the Flower Moon feels like a fool’s errand, anyway.
But with so much that comes from an Oscar win – including proof that inclusion brings success, accolades and a great argument for more equity – it is important to understand why some people value some performances.
And part of living in a diverse society means valuing the wide range of opinions and reactions, not shrugging off those that don’t fit your worldview.

what are your thoughts on Larian walking away from BG3/BG4/DLCs?
What a great question!!
So, first to acknowledge my own feelings as a gamer, as a fan of BG3, of the franchise, and, of course, of Astarion : I'm naturally a bit bummed. I would love to play more, read more, watch something, anything really.
Added to that, I also don't trust an outside team to come in to pick up the vision of the original team. I've seen it happen with other games, where the base game was one studio and the DLC was outsourced or they onboarded a new studio to take on it on as the main development team moved on to the next big project. It rarely, if ever, has worked out well.
My hope on the Hasbro/WotC side is that they leave BG3 alone to live on as a behemoth in the history of gaming... however, knowing how game publishers are, how much money BG3 made, the player interest in more content, etc -- there is no way that Hasbro is leaving money like that to the wayside.
Best case scenario I see on this side: they make auxiliary content, like books, toys, comics.
Worst case scenario: they outsource a new game team for DLC.
As for BG4, I honestly didn't expect that to be Larian's next project anyway (I was expecting Divinity 3, so feeling a different disappointment there haha). That being said, I don't think WotC or Hasbro know (and I mean this at the executive level of course) why BG3 did well. There are honestly a ton of factors on why BG3 did well, but that's for another post lol, but I don't think they could replicate that for BG4 with another studio. Doesn't mean I don't think it will be good-- it might be! It will just be very different.
Best case scenario here: they have a good studio make BG4 and it's still good, but it's different.
Worse case scenario here: they try to have a studio replicate what Larian did instead of tapping into their talents, and end up with a buggy, unfun mess. Also they bring back characters just to try to get people to buy it. 🥲
Now, as a game dev, what do I think of Larian's choice in all of this?
I LOVE IT. Wow, Swen Vincke is doing what every single developer wishes they could do if they actually had the power, money, and the influence to do it.
I have wished in the past for my studios to abandon projects, but sometimes it really was necessary to try to keep the studio afloat. As much as you want to work on a passion project, very rarely is it actually something that will keep the lights on. Oftentimes you will have to make that deal with Hasbro for a license or that deal with Epic for exclusivity just to recoup costs. Making games is expensive and, if you want to make anything at the scale that BG3 is, you usually need a lot of partnerships (a lot of their GDC talks were part of partnerships, like Dolby, Amazon, Adobe).
So the fact that they had such a success with BG3 to actually, comfortably follow their creative passions? Wow, wow, wow-- I am rooting for them so hard. I want them to make exactly the game they want and take all the time they need to do it.
Now, even knowing that Hasbro had something to do with this, was what he said about the developers not feeling passionate about the DLC true? Yeah, probably.
I've never seen something kill creative passion more (even if it's for a franchise you like or a game you've loved working on) than a directive from the top for something that's clearly just meant to make people above you more money. And with each partnership comes approvals, comes red tape, comes stakeholders that want to dictate what's in the game (oftentimes to the detriment of the game)-- and the game team can't even object because it's not their license or their brand.
The fact that Larian can say, 'screw that, I don't need more money from you' is truly such an anomaly in gaming. I am so very in awe of them as a developer-- it feels like someone breaking free of the system and paving the way forward for the rest of us. So whatever they do next, I will be there to support them.
BG3 is their most successful game so far, and I'm hopeful they will continue to push those boundaries. They've proven with each release that the core of their studio remains the same: immersive/massive RPG experiences, community-feedback focused improvements, and a well-balanced studio.
The tldr for all of this: I've loved Larian's choices so far and, while I'm bummed as a player, as a game dev I can't wait to see where this one takes them!

did u hear 127’s new album? it’s soo good 🤌🏼
been asked a couple times but I’m really still absorbing this album, so I might take a bit to give a solid answer. let me just say..
Tumblr media Tumblr media
my 1st gen airpods are shitting out on me after like 10(idk if thats an exaggeration lol) years, and I have airmax pros but as a real music fucker… I need my airpods, so I got some new ones and Apple gave me a 3 month music trial. I’m a Spotify loyal and will always be(one of u mf’s tried to hack me btw, pay your own monthly fee stupid bitch), BUT THE DOLBY SURROUND SOUND…. AND SPATIAL AUDIO…… THIS ALBUM IS INSIDE OF ME RN. obvs they did their big one with Gas lets not bullshit abt this.
127 will always be the most talented unit with the best music, talk to a wall idgaf. I’ll forever be upset over how their career has been handled, makes me sad listening to them ngl. I wanted more for them bc they deserved everything and more. I will say I think this album promo was embarrassing and terrible but…..whats new whats new. SM is such a joke, we have GOT to stop supporting their artists idc if we love them…..I wish Bighit had won that battle and monopolized SM at this point.
I’d rather the groups I love be released of their contracts with SM easily so they can grow and go do their own thing now.

She Blinded Me With Science by Thomas Dolby; Released October 1982
"[She Blinded Me With Science] came about in an odd way, because my first album, The Golden Age of Wireless, had come out in the UK and the U.S. And critically it had done fairly well, but it hadn't exactly exploded onto the charts. This was just when music videos were starting to come to the fore, and I was very keen to try out my talent as a music video director. I was always a big fan of silent movies: Chaplin and Keaton and Lloyd and so on. And I saw music videos as really a silent movie with a soundtrack." - Thomas Dolby for Songfacts, 2011

I'm a big fan of this band and there is something about this song in particular that just reminds me of getting my first car. I was freshly 19 and I would drive around the city late at night, chain smoking and blast this song. I just remember feeling so free and like nothing could hold me back.
And just for fun I'm going to give you a bonus song.
Dissidents by Thomas Dolby
Hi, I'm Kim and I love a political song that tells a story, and wow wow wow, is this song a political story. Also can I just say it's a downright shame that his best known song is She Blinded Me With Science? I mean, it's a fun song, but he is so unbelievably talented.

The Orpheum Theory
This little essay is inspired by my own post and the additions made by sunsetnerve and norakeinwitz. Thanks for your additions to my little theory I loved reading them.
Now, I understand that at the end of the day, this is a kids show. It’s made for kids. However, the demographic didn’t really end up what they thought it was going to be. So this is just a theory I came up with because I think like a college student, so I analyze like a college student. At the end of the day, it’s a theory. Could be a reach for a kids show, but it’s a thematically sound theory when analyzed like a regular piece of art.
Julie and the Phantoms is full of hidden symbolism and many different motifs. The motif we will be discussing today is: The Orpheum Theater.
As we know, the Orpheum is a huge component of the show and the big climax revolves around the Phantoms being able to play “the show they never got to play.” At first glance, it’s just a theater where musicians play. Well, your friendly neighborhood creative writing major is here to show you otherwise.
First, let’s talk about motifs and symbols for those who are unaware of the difference.
Symbols - signify an idea or emotion e.g. red stands for blood
Motifs - a recurring element or idea that repeats throughout a piece of work e.g. stairs in Bong Joon Ho’s Parasite.
A motif is a symbol, but a symbol is not necessarily a motif.
The biggest motif present in JATP is the use of butterflies but that’s a different discussion for a different post.
Another motif that may go unnoticed is the Orpheum Theater.
This venue is mentioned multiple times throughout the season and is the climax of the show. Let’s talk symbolism.
If it were any other theater, I would’ve just went “Nah they just want to play the show of course, it’s their dream.” However, what stuck with me was how the Orpheum is presented in JATP. (It looks nothing like the actual Orpheum Theater in LA by the way).
The theater is tiny. It looks like it could have a capacity of 50 people. 75 if we’re being generous. This begs the question, why this Orpheum? Why not the Roxy? The Dolby Theater? The Greek? Why specifically this tiny venue? Why not aim for a larger theater?
Next, we have to look at its name. Orpheum. Does it look familiar?
Orpheum means “House of Orpheus.” As in the Orpheus of Orpheus and Eurydice. For those of you who are not into Greek mythology and stories or if you just haven’t heard of the musical, Hadestown, let me give you a (very) brief rundown of the story.
Orpheus is a musician who is in love with Eurydice. Eurydice dies a tragic death and finds her way to the Underworld to be with Hades, god of the dead. Orpheus, understandably, is heartbroken by this. So he finds a way to travel to find Eurydice and Hades. He strikes a deal with Hades. If he could lead Eurydice out of the Underworld, she’ll live again. The catch? Orpheus cannot turn around. He just has to trust that she’s following him. In the end, Orpheus doubts himself at the last second (like literally “maybe a few feet away from the exit” last second) and turns around. Eurydice was actually following him the whole time, but he failed. She stays dead.
Now let’s discuss parallels.
Julie = Orpheus
talented musician
in love with a person who died tragically
desperate to save them
Luke = Eurydice
dead
trapped by a person who controls the dead
Caleb = Hades
controls the dead
Caleb owns the souls of the people in the Hollywood Ghost Club
Hades is the god of the dead
therefore, Hollywood Ghost Club = Underworld
Now this is where I explain how this parallel and motif play into the show with my own original theory and the modified theories due to the additions of sunsetnerve and norakeinwitz. Again, thanks for reblogging with them!
Theory 1
We’re aware of the parallels. We’re aware of the original story and how season 1 played out. Originally, I felt as if this motif would play out further into the show. I felt as if this were the foundation of a bigger fight between JATP and Caleb. Eventually, Julie would have to try and save Luke from the HGC and Caleb and ultimately fail (because I love angst but I will throw in some “kids show” magic and say that Luke is fine in the end). But let’s go with a happier ending.
Theory 2
This was brought to my attention by sunsetnerve. In her reblog, the Orpheum theory made its run through the first season only. This also makes sense, taking into account the scene with You Got Nothing to Lose. This is when Caleb takes hold of Luke and the other Phantoms. Julie brings them back (somehow) for Stand Tall. Here is where JATP will diverge from the original Greek story. Orpheus fails. Julie succeeds. If you’re an Harry Potter fan, think of it like that old Tumblr post that describes how Harry and his friends were parallels of James and his friends, only they were better and they learned from the past. Julie is Orpheus, the difference is that she knows better. Now we introduce the lyrical genius of the songwriters.
Let’s take another look at the Orpheus and Eurydice summary. In order to save Eurydice, Orpheus cannot turn around.
With that in mind, let’s take a look at the lyrics to Stand Tall.
“Cause everything is rushing in fast
Keep on going, never look back.”
Julie sings a line about not turning around. Once again, Julie is Orpheus, she just knows better.
She thinks she can help free them from Caleb. Julie already thinks that she’s lost the Phantoms. Orpheus thinks he can help free Eurydice from Hades. He refuses to believe he’s lost her. Julie is at peace, Orpheus is not.
Julie performs at the Orpheum even though she thinks it’s too late. She doesn’t hesitate. And when she was tested and she doubted, she did not let it overtake her. Orpheus was tested and he was consumed by the paranoia.
Julie kept going. She didn’t turn around.
Orpheus stopped. He turned around.
The result? Julie saves the Phantoms from Caleb. Orpheus loses Eurydice to Hades.
Julie wins.
Theory 3
This was presented to me by norakeinwitz who noticed the Orpheus connection too. They added on to both mine and sunsetnerve’s points. Except they played more towards the idea that despite the fact Julie knows better, Julie is still Orpheus. She can’t help it.
Julie performs. She doesn’t stop. She erases her doubt. The Phantoms perform at the Orpheum.
Julie doesn’t turn around then. She turns around later.
At the end of the day, Julie is still Orpheus.
She goes back to the studio anyway. She turns around to look at them one more time.
Now here are my thoughts about this.
Julie turns around, but not for the same reasons as Orpheus.
Orpheus let doubt into his mind. All he had to do was trust that Eurydice was following him. He was tested, he panicked, he looked back. He turned around before the tunnel ended because he was afraid that she was gone.
Julie erased her doubt. She didn’t let it in. She pressed forward even with the idea that she’s never seeing them again. She was tested, she panicked, she didn’t look back…yet. She looked back after she left the Orpheum and went straight to the studio instead of going straight to bed. She turned around after the tunnel ended because she made peace with the fact that they were gone.
Orpheus turned around because he was clinging to fear. Julie turned around because she let go of fear.
She made peace with death. As a result, she saved the Phantoms.
Orpheus was angered by death. As a result, he lost Eurydice.
Julie is Orpheus, but Orpheus is not Julie.
They follow the same path, but Julie made it to the end.

thank you for the ask!!
1. favorite band: my fave of all time is definitely Rush but I don't listen to them as much as I used to when I was little (super burnt out on them I guess lol) 3. favorite classic rock artist/band: I feel like the definition of "classic rock" is tough to pin down especially as time goes on but I think I'd have to say the Eagles. they have so many classic hits as well as great album tracks 13. favorite artist/band from the 1970s: Queen, I know they had some 80s stuff and beyond as well but I think just about all their best work lies in their 70s territory and even beyond the hits is so great IMO 14. favorite artist/band from the 1980s: this is so hard for me to answer in short but I'm going to go with Thomas Dolby, he was so creative and talented and pops up all over the place in music 20. favorite song by your favorite band: my favorite Rush song is probably "Afterimage," it's probably one of their heaviest songs ever and to me just totally captures the anger of grief and coping with the uncaring nature of death 41. favorite classic rock album: Fire of Unknown Origin by Blue Oyster Cult 77. how many concerts/shows have you attended? 9 I think but I might be forgetting some 78. who played the last concert/show you attended? Gary Numan, it was a great show and it was incredible seeing one of my heroes live 85. do you like ska? hell yeah! 99. favorite movie soundtrack: Transformers: The Movie (1986) for all your cheesy 80s power ballad needs 100. are The Beatles overrated? without trying to be edgy or long-winded I'll say yes but also overrated doesn't imply bad. I'm admittedly not a big fan of theirs but they did have a lot of influence on music to come. I just feel there were a lot more innovative and talented bands to come after them, which sure may not have happened without The Beatles but also there were other contemporary bands that could have filled that same role that they did. I'm already going off here so I'll just say yes but in this case it speaks to their enduring support over the years and influence on rock and pop music
thanks again so much for the ask! this was fun 😁👍
