Yaezakura | Multi-Layered Cherry Blossom

When metereologists make cherry blossom forecasts, they are referring to the Somei Yoshino variety which has a very short season — from late March to early April, to be exact. However, hanami forecasts don't usually include the early or late-blooming cherry trees, which are also quite lovely. Yaezakura, which means "multi-layered cherry blossom," is a catch-all term for cherry blossoms with more than five petals. Starting to bloom in mid-to-late April, yaezakura have petals that range from light to dark pink. Because of the double layers of petals, they are known as a symbol of strength — in comparison to the delicate and fleeting Somei Yoshino.

八重桜もちょうど満開の季節だったようです。

キャンプ場の隣にはバーベキュー施設があって、そこに新しくドッグランができていました。まあうちの犬の場合、人間が綱から手を離しても人間の側を絶対に離れようとしないので、ドッグランは何の意味もない場所になってしまいそうですが……。あとビビリ犬、他の犬と触れ合ったこともないので、多分小型犬に吠えられたら尻尾巻いて逃げていきそうな気もします。逃げ足だけは早い！

ちょっと変わった枝の形の花桃があったので、景色の額縁になるかなと思ったけどなりませんでした、の図。

メイン会場の方よりは花桃の木の数は少ないんですが、これはこれでとてもきれいです。何より人が少ないというのが良い。

来た道を戻りつつ、下の方の花桃祭りメイン会場へと向かいます。

In Perfect Cherry Blossom, all Prismriver Sisters have the same spellcard background and no matter who you fight, the name in the upper left corner will say Sister Prismriver.

In Double Dealing Character, the Tsukumo Sisters have both the same spellcard background, but depending who you fight, the name in the upper left corner changes (Tsukumo Yatsuhashi, Tsukumo Benben or Tsukumo Sisters).

Re: Solanaceae post: I keep forgetting that petunias are nightshades as well. Their flowers are what throw me off since I’m used to most of them being like tomatoes or pepper flowers. (Datura and Brugmansia which are well known nightshades also break this pattern as well.)
