11. would that i - hozier

The song is so incredibly whimsical. This day, I didn't have a song I was listening to on repeat, so I settled for something I enjoyed. This will be probably one of many Hozier songs.

12. that green gentleman (things have changed) - panic! at the disco

I haven't really listened to p!atd since I was in middle school. The newer stuff wasn't particularly my favorite and Brendon Urie being problematic had really set me apart from it. However, I forgot how good their earlier stuff was. Thank God for Ryan Ross.

13. talking body - tove lo

I think I saw an edit of Rafe Cameron to this song and like I've said before it "changed my life!" Don't worry, I'll try to find the edits and link them. But this song was on repeat for a while. I just had to add it to the list.

14. these days - nico

Have you ever had a song that immediately reminds you of a movie? This was one of those and it made me think of The Royal Tenenbaums. I've seen the film once in my life and have been meaning to rewatch it, but I haven't gotten around to. I watched it December 26, 2022, and my review on Letterboxd said: "Gwyneth Paltrow with the dark eyeliner >>> everything else"

I was reminded of this songs existence when I was rewatching season 2 of OBX. I forgot how devastating it was to listen to. I hadn't heard it since it was last popular on TikTok. Every time I listen to it, it fills me with this inexplicable sickness in the pit of my stomach.

16. no choice - fly by midnight

this song was on my discover weekly. It was about eleven p.m. and my room was filled with this song softly playing in the background as I played Subway Surfers for too long. It reminds me of chill summer night.

17. american idiot - green day

i like expressing my feelings through the songs I listen to. I don't really have much to say besides the fact that I was and still currently very angry at America and its new leaders that have (unfortunately) taken over.

18. we'll never have sex - leith ross

this song brings me so much pain. the night I was reminded of this song I sat alone in my bedroom quietly crying to myself. I am comfortable in my singleness and independence, but I do have a few moments of weakness while I feel too far lonely. I needed that cry.

another song that played on repeat at night. reminds me of summer. A lot of songs remind me of seasons.

Trump's inauguration day and I decided to choose a song by an artist that is representative of everything he has stood for. Shea Diamond is a transgender woman of color who actively fights for trans rights. Her entire existence and so many others like hers are constantly being argued. When she was twenty, she robbed a convenience store at gunpoint to afford gender affirming surgery. She was arrested but eventually released and she's been thriving since.
