21. greenlight - lorde
Every time I hear this song I am transported to the first moment, I saw that scene from New Girl. The one where Nick and Jess are trying to catch up to each other in their apartment building but keeping missing each other. They are one of the most perfect sitcom couples ever and I can only hope that I find something like them.
22. i'd have to think about it - leith ross
A few years ago, I went through a bad phase where I only listened to this song. It reminds me of sunset drives on the boulevard, singing this in the shower at my old house, the heat of my bedroom. Just like the Leith in the song, I can't seem to quit this song like they can't quit that person.
23. here comes your man - pixies
I have a playlist called, "Dad music" and of course the pixies are on it. I basically chose the last song I listened to off that playlist and luckily it was this one.
24. 5 more minutes - sydney rose
Nostalgia is a disease that's impossible for me to escape. I wake up every morning thinking about my past, my old room, the memories in my old house. I wake up ready to wake up there only to be here. I picture home in the 1 story, old run-down place, secretly growing mold in its corners. I can't quit it. I can't leave it. I am always there, and I always will be.
25. called you again - lizzy mcalpine
I don't have much to say about this song besides the fact that I decided to randomly play this on repeat this day. I stumbled upon it once again and decided that it would make the playlist. Good Choice.
26. dawn - from "Pride & Prejudice" Soundtrack -Dario Marianelli, Jean-Yves Thibaudet
I got the chance to watch this movie in theaters for the first time. I was so grateful to be able to giggle and sigh with a bunch of others in a room that enjoy this movie as much as I do. Lizzie Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy will always live on forever.
27. strangers - mt joy
I put on a folky playlist because that was the mood I was in and this song came on. I enjoyed it so much I added it for the day. I can't wait to forget about it and rediscover this song next year. It will change my life again.
28. last time (i seen the sun) - alice smith, miles caton,
When I watched Sinners earlier this month I was going to add one of the songs from this album then, but had decided to later. I didn't want to just add a song just because I watched the movie. I wanted to be able to listen, enjoy it, and let it sit in before adding it. Here is me finally adding one, and it will not be the last.
29. hypersonic missiles - sam fender
I've been meaning to add this song for months now, but I wanted to wait till the perfect moment. I don't know what it was about this day, but I could not settle for any other song besides this one. Sam Fender is very underrated, and I wish more people gave his music a chance. There are so many hidden gems in his music. He is an artist who is not afraid to be outright political in his music.
30. fresh out the slammer - taylor swift
I used to be a crazy big taylor swift fan. I still like her music, but its not as grand as it used to be. However, I was reminded of this song and I had to add it. This album gets a lot of hate, but there are some pretty good bangers on it. This being one of them.

11. beast of burden - the rolling stones
I've been getting back into physical media. I bought a disc man to be able to listen to my made mixtapes and the radio. This song came on the radio, and I believe that it really is such a dying art. I know it is repetitive and there is a lot of ads sometimes, but there is something so nostalgic about hearing it all over occaisional static.
12. highway chile - jimi hendrix
Years ago, my mom gave me a bunch of her old CD's, and I decided with my new disc man, I'd listen to this album. This song stuck out to me out of all of them.
13. denim - kylie cantrall
People hate to believe it, but I can see her becoming a main pop girlie in the future, especially with her releasing bangers like this. It's so fun and I can't wait till she gets her footing and releases an album. People aren't ready for her yet.
14. misses - dominic fike
So short, but so good. I don't have much to say besides wishing it was a little bit longer, but I think that's why I love it so much because it doesn't last forever.
15. modigliani - lucy dacus
I WILL BE SEEING LUCY IN CONCERT!!! AAHHH.
I've already seen her when boygenius came to my state a few years back, but I am very excited to be able to see her by herself. One day I would like to see Julian and Phoebe on their own as well. This is my favorite song on the album.
16. why - dominic fike
I tried recommending this song to my coworker and he didn't really like it. I don't understand why he didn't. I feel like this is the kind of range of music he would listen to, but to each their own.
17. soft kissing hour - nat & alex wolff
Another song recommended to me on my Discover Weekly. When I found this song I listened to it on repeat at night. Up until it hit 1 am. I'm not very good at describing things, and I appologize, but its so soft and smooth and it really does fit the vibe of 1 am and the last one awake in the house.
18. balloon - tyler the creator, doechii
Yall should have expected this song here. I LOVE DOECHII. Well more like I'm in love with Doechii, but it's the same thing. The built up and fall of the song (if that makes sense) is so good and when Doechii comes in I just go silent. I love her verse so much.
19. so sly - nightly
Very underrated band that, again, reminds me of late summer nights. They're coming to my state, and I am very excited to see them live. I guess the best part about them being underrated is that the tickets were only 20 dollars each. I first found this band when I was in middle school and I've been in and out of their music ever since.
20. the feeling - nightly
Can you tell I'm excited for their concert. I will be the loudest one there.

1.dreaming of you - Selena
I rewatched the Selena movie this day. If you weren't traumatized by this as a child, then did you really live? I remember the first time watching it and finding out her story only to watch it all end. I wasn't alive when Selena passed, but her death wasn't any less tragic because of that fact. She was so young and was going to do so many great things and I wish she had gotten that chance. I'm an athiest, but if I'm wrong, I hope she's some place perfect for her in the afterlife and that she knows so many people adore and love her.
2. undressed - sombr
This man is on the rise!! I listened to this song on repeat as I worked--a common occurrence--and I became obsessed. His lyrics aren't profound, and I think that's what makes it so great. They're so simple that it captures this feeling perfectly because you're hurt and sometimes it's very easy to understand despite the complicated emotions. Plus, I can do a little shoulder shimmy to this song which I enjoy.
3. mess - noah kahan
I feel like not many people talk about his music before Stick Season. I feel like it is so good and so underrated. I enjoy this song so much because it's so self-aware of who he is, and I think that's something I can really relate to. He keeps telling himself about how he'll fix things only to end up with a genuine, "I'm a mess" but it's not entirely a bad thing.
4. high - 5 seconds of summer
I hadn't listened to this song in a long while, but everytime I hear it I'm transported to 2020. This album came out during the pandemic and without it I don't think I would have survived. It was just the right thing to distract me from the disaster of the world. I have a fond memory of sitting in the backseat of my parents' car as we pulled up to park, forcing my parents to listen to this song and album on the way there.
5. lonesome is a state of mind - djo
this was the first song off of this album that I was really drawn to. While I show time and time again that I love slower songs, I do love to be able to walk in stride when I listen to music, something upbeat to keep me upbeat. And you know what he is so right, Lonesome is a state of mind. As long as you have yourself, you're never truly lonesome.
6. delete ya - djo
This song feels like a summer night, right between the sun fully going down and the night covering everything. It brings me so much comfort. There's a particular part of the song that I absolutely love where he sings, "I'm locked, she's the key, I'm a boat that's sinking, guess who's the sea" It tickles my brain just right.
7. war isn't murder - jesse welles
Art is political. Music, lyrics, the singer, the fact that it is all art in itself, is political. This song is outright political. Nothing is sugar-coated, it is really easy to understand and sometimes it has to be. While I do enjoy digging into the deeper meanings of songs, this one is nice and flat out in your face. It basically criticizes the reorganization of what war is--that war in itself is propaganda, and no one is immune to it.
8. charlie's garden - djo
I just really love the voice memo from Charlie Heaton. Also, this song is so Beatles coded.
9. the wire - haim
While I already had a Haim song on this playlist, I haven't really listened to their music much until Relationships, but this song came on my discover weekly and the speed she sings in some parts and the way her voice sounds is really pleasing to my ears.
10. secrets from a girl (who's seen it all) - lorde
Around this time Lorde was teasing new music and so many people were saying, "I don't want to see anyone enjoying Lorde's new music if you weren't there for Solar Power" While I understand the sentiment, I don't like to gatekeep music. I think no matter what people should be allowed to decide what parts of music they enjoy by an artist and that may not be all of their albums and that's okay. However, this album is a masterpiece in my eyes, and this song changed my life when it came out.

I cannot believe my vote is equal to my mom's. We literally just had an argument over evolution, and she kept on saying "well I don't believe in that." GIRL IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU BELIEVE IN IT. ITS A FACT.
Then she said that God is a proven fact. Then I told her to find me a scientific article with evidence that proves that God is real.
She's driving me nuts.
Can you tell who she voted for?

Train
About You - The 1975
Macy hadn't been on a train in years.
She didn't realize how much she missed the crowded aisles the way they felt like they went on endlessly and the worn out seats, a set of two facing another set. Each car had a distinct smell, but it wasn't bad, they just smelled old. Some smelled like sunbathed books from a library while others smelled like the itchy sweaters of her grandmother's closet. They had brought a sense of comfort that had been missing in her life.
Macy checked her ticket one last time before walking to her seat. It was in the middle of the car, next to the window facing the exit she had walked in through. She looked through the glass as she watched other passengers scramble in with tired smiles and slouched shoulders. Most people on the train were heading home after spending long hours at work. Fortunately, Macy hadn't been at work. Unfortunately, Macy was dealing with her very own exposure therapy.
Once the train had filled up, she realized her area was empty. She sat alone on the big empty train, but it had been okay. She had hoped for that outcome. She stretched out her legs, resting them on the chair in front of her as she leaned back slightly. The sun had begun to set, and the outside world became a blur. Blues, reds, and browns mixed together creating a beautiful mess.

21. bad reviews - sabrina carpenter
this song reminds me so much of her other song called bad for business. The songs have similar premises, and I've always loved songs with similar meanings, but with separate sounds. I've been really enjoying the pop girlies breaking in folky/country type sounds and mixing the genres a little.
22. the night we met - lord huron
this was the day I finished Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins and after I finished reading, I walked into the shower and cried my eyes out under the steaming water. I legitimately sobbed for so long, it is not even funny. Later that day I ended up going to the movies with my friend and I sat through the entire movie thinking about Haymitch Abernathy and trying not to cry.
23. sleeping with the lights on - daniel seavey
this song snuck up on me. It has this nostalgic feeling to it and it reminds me of an older song, especially in the beginning with the rhythm (beat? Idk musical talk tbh). I really enjoy this song and I also too really relate with sleeping with the lights on. Well, more so a night light because I hate opening my eyes at night to see darkness.
24. touching yourself - the japanese house
Have you really lived if you hadn't had a shifting phase? Embarrassingly enough, my shifting phase was about two summers ago and I was desperately trying to shift into a singer dr, and this was one of the songs on my first album. I put way too much effort into it for nothing to happen. Louis Tomlinson from one direction had me going crazy. I stumbled upon this song recently and just had to add it the list because it has such a funny moment in time for me connected to it.
25. kind of girl - muna
no one understands muna like me. As a girl who is half girl kisser (don't worry I've consulted ancestory.com) I am entitled to know more about songs and bands that talk about kissing women. Is not an opinion it is fact.
26. peripheral lover - gordi
this was recommended to me by my discover weekly. I don't have much else to say except I played this on repeat while at work. good song!
27. love really hurts - billy ocean
An oldie but a goodie. Makes me want to walk down the board walk on a beach embarrassingly winking at everyone around me while shooting them finger guns. I'd be wearing blue board shorts, a red and white striped shirt, and my hair would be in two braids.
28. utah - french cassettes
I chose this song quickly, five minutes before it hit midnight, because I was in Utah. It was my first time out of state, and this was the best sounding song I could find that had the word Utah in the name and song.
29. slipfast - role model
Now here is the reason I was in Utah. The night before my friend and I arrived in Utah and the next night we spent about two hours waiting in line to see Role Model in Salt Lake City. The weather was actually terrible. It was windy and raining down hard, but eventually we made it into the venue, and we had the time of our lives. I spent a little over one hundred dollars on a tote bag and a long sleeve shirt - not my best decision financially, but I was excited. My friend spent $140. I chose slipfast because I had already added two of my favorite songs by him to this playlist: Compromise and Some Protector.
30. nothing i need - lord huron
Lord Huron is so popular, but I feel like so underrated. This song came out the 28th, but I hadn't heard it till this day. I was trying to choose a song last minute, and this song stuck out to me on my Release Radar, on Spotify. I loved how upbeat it was, and I do a jig everytime I listen to this song.
31. goodbye - bo burnham
If it wasn't for this special and album, I don't think many people would have made it through the aftermaths of covid. It felt so nice to have a piece of art carry all the emotions we've been carrying over the time and become a time capsule for such a crazy moment in history and our lives. I also felt like it was a good end to the month, especially with how a lot of lyrics kind of fit the feelings I've been having these past few months.

11. like that - doja cat, gucci mane
This song brings out the absolute freak in me. It has that much power. Also saw one of the greatest Drew Starkey edits I've ever seen to this song.
12. your light - daniel seavey
I used to be a big limelight back in the day. It was actually so bad that I had a fan account, and I made a second fan account for a rival boy band at the time called, Road Trip, where me and some of my mutuals "infiltrated" the fandom to make fun of the fans. This was one of the first songs off of Daniel Seavey's new album that caught my eye.
13. lost in japan - shawn mendes
Every so often I stumble upon this song and absolutely cannot help but listen to it on repeat. I don't know what he put in this song, but it is addicting. This day was my mom's birthday and as I spent the day baking her birthday cake, I danced around the kitchen to this song on repeat. For those who are curious I made a german chocolate cake with coconut pecan frosting.
14. sick dogs - hey, nothing
My best friend invited me over to her birthday party and unfortunately, I started my period that day. My periods are actually the worst and the entire hour I was at her house I felt like I was going to have a panic attack, something I've experience on multiple occasions because of how drastic the pain can be. However, that wasn't even the worst that happened, I ended up puking up blue in her small bedroom trash. I haven't puked since I was seven. I chose this song mainly because it has the word "sick" in it and that's what I felt like for that day.
15. relationships - haim
something always goes back to Drew Starkey. I cannot help it. That man has me in a chokehold and I'm into it. I have a flag of him on my bedroom wall and I've convinced myself that our 12-year age difference isn't so bad. I've always rewatched the music video of this song one too many times for him. Despite Drew Starkey, this song is so good, and I have become a fan of HAIM now. WOOHOO! I'm excited for new music from them.
16. phases - prettymuch
Another boy band that Why Don't We fans had beef with. What was up with that truly? Like why couldn't we coexist with one another? I can't believe I felt the need to secretly like this song, embarrassing. Now, I'm proudly obsessed with this song, and it makes me think of cool summer nights.
17. on my own - niall horan
Niall Horan, Cillian Murphy, Nicola Coughlan, Sinead O'Connor, Oscar Wilde, Graham Norton, Ayo Edebiri, Barack Obama, what do all these people have in common? IRELAND! I love Ireland and the Irish so I knew from the moment I woke up that morning that I would be ending the day with adding a song by someone from Ireland and I decided why not start with the person that had put the country on the map for me. Thank Ireland for Niall James Horan!
18. makeup drawer - isaac dunbar
a genuine bop that that makes me want to sway aggressively back and forth. I also had just gotten 6 makeup palettes that I had bought online arrive at my house.
19. the winner takes it all - abba
Another devastating Hunger Games edit taking over my for you page. That fandom is never happy.
20. spring into summer - lizzy mcalpine
"Spring into summer and the winters gone I try to hold on to it but the currents too strong."
With the rapid climate change the seasons have begun to blend into each other. Winter is like a weeklong and spring has morphed into summer. I felt that although this song is very springy sounding to me, I would use it to help encapsulate my feelings on this change because I'm always going to run back to the colder months and wish for the difference. "If I could jump into the past, I'd only change one thing" bring awareness to our dying earth far sooner.

Seven Wonders - Fleetwood Mac
The first time I heard the song, and it instantly put me in a good mood. It gave me a sense of hope.
2. say you will - fleetwood mac
Another first time listen. I really thought I was well versed in Fleetwood, but I guess not. The way Stevie Nicks sings "electricity of love" itches my brain. I'm glad I've heard this song because I'll never be able to let it go now.
3. things i wish you said - sabrina carpenter
Emails I Can't Send is such an underrated album that I feel like more people should listen to. This song is also underrated on an already underrated album. Fun Fact: I actually got to see Sabrina Carpenter live during the tour for this album and I paid 37 dollars for each ticket!
4. give yourself a try - the 1975
you'll never be able to pry the 1975 from my ears. Their music is so addicting, and I can't help but have moments where I fixate on one or multiple of their songs. I've never had crack, but I think the high people get from that is the same as me listening to their music.
5. a change is gonna come - sam cooke
The song is so beautifully sung and written and I'm using it as a sort of manifestation. Like Sam Cooke, I'm hoping for a change, but more than that I'm believing in change, because it will come. I'm just sad that this song's message still must be fought to be withheld 61 yrs after its release.
6. white flag - clairo
I was listening to one of Spotify's moody mix playlists that are geared to your personal tastes and this played. Every time it ended, I would repeat it manually.
7. both sides now - joni mitchell (1969)
I didn't know much about Joni Mitchell until I saw the video of Amanda Seyfried playing a cover of the song California on a talk show. The little knowledge I do know of it is that one scene from Love Actually where the wife is expecting jewelry for Christmas because she finds it in Alan Rickman's coat pocket but ends up getting a Joni Mitchell album instead.
8. none of your business - salt-n-peppa
NATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY!
All our lives as women people have had something to say. Whether they're commenting on our characters or our bodies, they can never leave women alone. Just let us live!
9. for months now (III) - madi diaz, lizzy mcalpine
In December I had this song on repeat. I cannot relate to it whatsoever, but the thought of maybe one day is so soul crushingly exciting. I don't know how to explain it. I've just always wanted to know what heartbreak feels like. Whenever I hear this song, I think about my last moments in my old house. My fake Christmas tree lit up in my room with my window covered by blankets blocking out any natural light. I had my tablet placed in front of me as I would spend the hours between 9 pm and 1 am reading fanfiction. Any semblance of that feeling and that house is welcomed and that's why I chose this song.
10. ever seen - beabadoobee
this song makes me think of spring. I felt it was fitting for march.

21. call me when you break up - selena gomez, gracie abrams
For some reason everyone is interpreting this song as someone wanting their ex back which I don't know how. It is clearly a song where someone is waiting for their friend to call them back to tell them whether the new person worked out or not.
22. under pressure - queen, david bowie
For some people when they hear this song, they think it's such a fun song to dance to. Others think of the whole problem with vanilla ice in the past. I, however, think of the ending scene in Aftersun starring Paul Mescal where him and his character's daughter are dancing, and it cuts between her being an adult and a child. That movie ruined me.
23. regret me - daisy jones & the six
forever. FOREVER mourning the tour that should have happened. Also the part where it gets sort of quiet and Daisy sings, "Go ahead and regret me, but I'm beating you to it dude." Itches my brain.
24. love me not - ravyn lenae
I first heard it on TikTok, but the first time I fully listened to it I was standing in the bathroom at work waiting for time to pass so I could clock in. I then listened to it on repeat the whole shift.
25. it ain't me babe - timothee chalamet, monica barbaro
I am exactly what all the diehard Bob Dylan fans were afraid of. Someone who listens to the movie version over the original and I'm sorry, but I cannot help it.
26. godspeed - frank ocean
I recently got into frank ocean at the end of 2024. I would listen to his music on repeat as I sat in my room reading JJ Maybank fanfiction. Now, I'm out of JJ Maybank fanfiction to read and new songs by Frank Ocean.
27. spoiling me - abby powledge
I found this song on my Discover Weekly while I was trying to finish some homework. It was the only song I had come across that day that I had actually listened to and so I decided to add it to the playlist.
28. beautiful boy (darling boy) - john lennon
John Lennon is actually evil. I've always been partial to George Harrison, so when it comes to John Lennon, I really only know this song and the Xmas song about war. I chose this song because I bought a Fuggler. He's from the vacation vibe series and I name him Daryll. He's my baby and I love him.
I also watched Mr. Peabody and Sherman the day before.

12. sharpest tool - sabrina carpenter
I think this has to be one of the most underrated songs off of her new album. I think many people can relate to one sided love or situationships to the point where it not only makes yourself feel stupid, but you're stuck trying to convince yourself that the other must be feeling the same way because if they're not then you're alone in that feeling.
13. we hug now - sydney rose
If you haven't seen an edit on TikTok to this song than I not only feel bad for you, but I'm also jealous of you because every edit to this song rips out my heart and stomps on it. "I have a feeling you got everything you wanted, and you're not wasting time stuck here like me." I might as well just not exist after that.
14. some protector - role model
the best song on the deluxe. Talk to the wall because you won't be able to convince me otherwise. The way he asks a question and answers it himself because she won't answer because she isn't a part of his life, yet he still feels like he will protect her no matter what.
15. 15 minutes - sabrina carpenter
There is really only two reasons I chose this song for this day. One, its such a bop and I can't help but dance when listening to it. Two, I thought it was funny putting a song called '15 minutes' on the fifteenth day of the month.
16. i'll be - edwin mccain
this is the kind of song that just gets stuck in my head for a long period of time the moment I hear it, but I only know the chorus. I also rewatched A Cinderella Story starring Hillary Duff and they play this song in it.
17. party 4 u - charli xcx
I see a lot of brain rot edits to this. I also listened to this song on repeat for hours while I was at work.
18. puppet - tyler the creator
It always goes back to an edit on TikTok. I saw an edit of Katniss Everdeen because every aspect, in the games and outside of it, she was playing someone's game and being a puppet. Doing what Snow wanted and then breaking from his strings to only find herself wrapped up in Coin's strings... Two sides of the same coin those two.
19. let down - radiohead
I have no idea what is being said in this song. I sort of just mumble along and vibe to the instrumental. I also did see the saddest edit to this song about climate change.
20. crooked the road. - mon rovia
another Mon Rovia song! Again, underrated artist. I really enjoy the chorus. It reminds me a lot of spring. The soft breeze, the blue sky, the sounds of birds.

to watch the world spin - mon rovia
A very underrated artist that I believe deserves more traction. The song is so comforting and smooth that I felt like it was a perfect start to February.
2. bags - clairo
A few days beforehand one of my best friends had texted me asking if I like Clairo. Of course I do. That same day in the mail I got a CD of Clairo's album Charm. It really freaked me out getting the package because I hadn't put it together why my friend could have been asking me that. I just know that my dad texted me while I was at work and said that I had a package. I thought it was a bomb. Thank God it wasn't.
3. denial is a river - doechii
DOECHII WON A GRAMMY! She won the day before and I really like her music, so I added her to the list. Will never get tired of this song. She deserved that win and I her performance was one of the bests of the night.
4. this time last year - kelsea ballerini
A country song. See I exclusively listen to Women country artists. Mainly Kelsea Ballerini and Kacey Musgraves.
5. needy - kelsea ballerini
Another Kelsea Ballerini song and I was trying not to do the same artist multiple times in a row, but I couldn't help it. I should have known it was going to happen eventually. I do really enjoy Kelsea Ballerini's music because its a mix of country and pop that I enjoy. I am now a certified fan of hers after listening to this song on REPEAT.
6. blast off - silk sonic
I forgot how good Silk Sonic is. I haven't listened to their album since it first came out in 2021 and at the time my favorite song was Skate but now it is this one. I can't explain it, but WOW.
7. nissan altima - doechii
I couldn't help it. I had to add another Doechii song. This song actually led me to getting in a playful argument with my coworker and friend. He was listening to this song and I was like, "finally, I told you to listen so long ago." and he said, "No I found this song by myself." Men never appreciate the things women do for them...
8. billy (yeah, yeah, yeah) - inhaler
my favorite Irish band with my favorite nepotism lead singer. Their music is so good, and I can definitely see them being mainstream one day. They did open for Harry Styles at one point in time. However, some of them don't use shampoo when washing their hair and just wash it with conditioner which lowkey gave me an ick.
9. tv off - kendrick lamar, left gunplay
The halftime show was so good and for those who didn't get it go back to English class because your comprehension skills are terrible. I wasn't the biggest fan of Kendrick before, not because of anything about him, I just didn't listen to much of his music, but he is now in my rotation a lot more.
10. i'm not that girl - cynthia erivo (wicked)
I was singing this song to myself so much that I started dreaming about singing it. It is such a good song that if I had known that Wicked existed when I was eight, I would have most definitely listened to it on repeat while watching my elementary crush.
11. basic being basic - djo
I've been a big fan of Djo for years. Many people are surprised that its Steve Harrington from Stranger Things behind the name and music, but if they knew the lore, they would know that Joe Keery was originally in a band called Post Animal before he went by the name Djo.

21. loved by you - chelsea cutler
last summer this song was on repeat as I was trying to figure out what college and kind of schooling I wanted to accomplish. I figured it was fitting to use this song on the day that I started school. Community college with four classes as a history major. At the time I was so definitive about my future, now not so much.
22. love it if we made it - the 1975
Every so often a the 1975 song makes it into my rotation. I've always been a big fan, but I always fixate on one song for a long while. Plus, I was angry at the world and politics. This was a great outlet.
23. b.i.l.l.s - towa bird
I'm nineteen and still living at home. You have no idea how many times I sat on my Pinterest planning out the layout and decor for a home that I probably will never be able to afford. I don't own a car, a home, I work in fast food, and I live in rural turn suburban area that has a lot of people living here, but not enough options of places to go to.
24. push 2 start - tyla
there was a dance for this going around on tiktok that I spent way too much time trying to learn, but I'm just not talented in that way. I cannot dance and remember a routine to save my life. doomed to be talentless.
25. everywhere, everything - noah kahan
"i wanna love you 'til we're food for the worms to eat, 'til our fingers decompose, keep my hand in yours"
Need I say more? I love Noah Kahan and his writing.
26. arm's length - sam fender
I think this song was brand new at the time. Again, it reminded me of summer, but particularly of a coming-of-age film kind of summer. Sam Fender is still a relatively new artist to me, but I do enjoy his music immensely. Thank you, Noah Kahan for introducing me to him!
27. that's life - frank sinatra
I saw a Hunger Games edit to this song specifically about Katniss. The song really stands out against the other songs because it's not as modern as the others, obviously you can tell by the name alone. Despite the edit, it is a good motivational song.
28. mutt - leon thomas
Leon Thomas has 7.8 million listeners on Spotify, yet all I see is people being surprised that "Andre from Victorious makes music?" YES! And the music is so good!
29. wolves - jensen mcrae
This song came on a random playlist I was listening to while I was working one night. I quickly put it on repeat. The repetiveness of the guitar (bass? I do not know anything about music except that I like it) is so addicting. Plus, Jensen McRae is so underrated.
30. democracy - the lumineers
This song reminded me of how much I love America. I know there is a lot of it wrong, and I'm not the most patriotic person, like ever, but I do love America. Mainly, I love everything about America that is actively being stripped away. I love the cultures that surround me and the new people. I love our uniqueness and how we're all defined under one common idea: we live her. I just wish that most people loved their community based on our differences and not by who is more like them. I wish America wasn't so defined by hate. I will never stop fighting for it to get better for everyone here.
31. compromise - role model
I didn't know what to put for this day so I chose a song I love. This is my favorite song off the album. It's a song about no matter what happens do not compromise your happiness for something that is no longer working for you. I don't know this feeling personally, I've never been in a relationship, but I think it's so beautiful.

11. would that i - hozier
The song is so incredibly whimsical. This day, I didn't have a song I was listening to on repeat, so I settled for something I enjoyed. This will be probably one of many Hozier songs.
12. that green gentleman (things have changed) - panic! at the disco
I haven't really listened to p!atd since I was in middle school. The newer stuff wasn't particularly my favorite and Brendon Urie being problematic had really set me apart from it. However, I forgot how good their earlier stuff was. Thank God for Ryan Ross.
13. talking body - tove lo
I think I saw an edit of Rafe Cameron to this song and like I've said before it "changed my life!" Don't worry, I'll try to find the edits and link them. But this song was on repeat for a while. I just had to add it to the list.
14. these days - nico
Have you ever had a song that immediately reminds you of a movie? This was one of those and it made me think of The Royal Tenenbaums. I've seen the film once in my life and have been meaning to rewatch it, but I haven't gotten around to. I watched it December 26, 2022, and my review on Letterboxd said: "Gwyneth Paltrow with the dark eyeliner >>> everything else"
15. where'd all the time go? - dr. dog
I was reminded of this songs existence when I was rewatching season 2 of OBX. I forgot how devastating it was to listen to. I hadn't heard it since it was last popular on TikTok. Every time I listen to it, it fills me with this inexplicable sickness in the pit of my stomach.
16. no choice - fly by midnight
this song was on my discover weekly. It was about eleven p.m. and my room was filled with this song softly playing in the background as I played Subway Surfers for too long. It reminds me of chill summer night.
17. american idiot - green day
i like expressing my feelings through the songs I listen to. I don't really have much to say besides the fact that I was and still currently very angry at America and its new leaders that have (unfortunately) taken over.
18. we'll never have sex - leith ross
this song brings me so much pain. the night I was reminded of this song I sat alone in my bedroom quietly crying to myself. I am comfortable in my singleness and independence, but I do have a few moments of weakness while I feel too far lonely. I needed that cry.
19. carpet burn - bradley simpson
another song that played on repeat at night. reminds me of summer. A lot of songs remind me of seasons.
20. i am america - shea diamond
Trump's inauguration day and I decided to choose a song by an artist that is representative of everything he has stood for. Shea Diamond is a transgender woman of color who actively fights for trans rights. Her entire existence and so many others like hers are constantly being argued. When she was twenty, she robbed a convenience store at gunpoint to afford gender affirming surgery. She was arrested but eventually released and she's been thriving since.

masterlist
she's always a woman - billy joel
I wanted to start the new year off right. It was basically me manifesting what I wanted from 2025. What I wanted myself to be for 2025. There were going to be many changes, and I wanted something to anchor me, and this song was perfect.
2. linger - the cranberries
A lot of songs will be like this on the list. A song that doesn't particularly resonate with me, but I was reminded of its existence and decided to add it. It is rather popular, but I tend to listen to songs on repeat too long that I forget songs like this exist in my rotation.
3. father figure - george michael
I watched baby girl (2024) on December 30th for the first time in theaters. The song stuck with me for a while, not just because of the scene of Harris Dickinson dancing to it, but because it was also all over my FYP on TikTok. I still find myself going back to it almost 2 months later.
4. fake plastic trees - radiohead
December 20th, 2024, I saw the most gut wrenching edit to this song using scenes from the movie Anora (2024). MY GIRL ANI JUST WANTED TO BE LOVED. UGH! I think of that edit so often and thank you to the editor who reintroduced me to the song.
5. lover, you should've come over - jeff buckley
this song was placed in a playlist on spotify titled "she looks like the real thing"by ella. I used the playlist to help me find new songs like fake plastic trees and it helped me find this song again. I listened to this song and the next song on repeat.
6. i know its over - the smiths
another song in the same playlist by ella. I listened to this song and the two formers on repeat as my family and I finished cleaning our old house. It was a fitting vibe that I needed as I said goodbye to the home that I had grown up in. From 7 to 19 years old. Almost my entire existence.
7. soccer practice - lizzy mcalpine
i'm a big fan of lizzy. I've been an avid listener of hers for a few years now, but sometimes I miss good songs over time. Like I've said, I have a problem repeating things and once I found this song it was everywhere in my spotify. I couldn't shake it for a week.
8. scorsese baby daddy - sza
this song is never really out of my rotation. y'know that trend where people say, "when someone tells me to play a sza song and they expect me to play Normal Girl, but I play this instead." Yeah, this doesn't fit that trend at all. This is definitely one of her most popular songs and for good reason.
9. live for me - omar apollo
I just really love his music, and I had a crazy obsession with it in December, so I decided to pay homage to that period in time by allowing one of his songs to slip into January.
10. roses - the chainsmokers, rozes
i saw a JJ Maybank edit to this song and it changed my life. It really reminded me of 2014 and how much I missed that time despite being like 8. Still, I remember the vibes. TAKE ME BACK! I MISS BEING 8.

I've made a playlist where every day I add a new song. Sometimes it is a new song that I really like or something that I've been listening to on repeat. Sometimes it's a song I don't really know, but I think would be nice to look back at later on to enjoy. I try to branch out a little from the comfort of my taste, but sometimes the songs are just unapologetically me. I don't always have a reason for the songs, but maybe I can start a little series on why I chose each song.

Hello!
I've used Tumblr for a few years, but I've never posted anything before, so this will be interesting to figure out. I made a new account, my old one will continue to be used in private where I'll read and interact with things more personally. I'm not sure what I'll use this for, but I do know I want to find a sense of community here. One that's different than what I have in real life.
