You’re cuddled up in Osamu’s arms one peaceful Sunday morning, lazing under the sheets until you hear Osamu’s stomach growling.

He groans, pulling you even closer, which in turn makes you snuggle into him even more.

“I’m so hungry,” he mumbles. You hum to confirm you heard him but make no further attempt at doing anything about it. “So hungry that… I could eat… You.”

Chomp!

That's the only warning you get before you feel Osamu’s teeth clutch onto the thicker part of your arm, munching loosely and making fake gnawing noises.

“Samuuu!!” you squeal, twisting to try and escape but finding his arms much too strong.

‘My boyfriend ate me out this morning,’ your friend would share later over a glass of wine, definitely bragging.

‘My boyfriend just ate me altogether,’ you would sigh in response.

And you wouldn’t have it any other way.

As for your questions:

13) something you learned about writing this year I don't know if that counts, but I have learned to give myself time and opportunity to edit. And before I post, I reread the stories about 3 times minimum out loud to see if the flow is right - if the emotion is there, if the moment is long enough/feels important enough, etc. If it's a funny scene, I wanna see if the lines are as snappy as I want them to be. So I talk to myself a lot and that has also helped me not to rush the process. I like to think that at least.

drabble for @mallywarez's hOJtel au. This one is based off a doodle dump @5centz posted!

Paper watched with a raised eyebrow as Mephone4 was helped to his room - what should've been a usual recovery had...gone wrong, in mp4's own words - a sudden case of glitching when he tapped OJ's MeLife icon.

He didn't think the side effects were gonna be bad, he truly didn't .... at the time, that was.

So Paper shrugged, and turned to the recovered OJ - who was rubbing the side of his glass like he had a bad headache. "Eurghh..shit, feels like I got struck by a truck. Wheres..?" OJ looked around, "Where is Mephone?" Paper motioned towards the stairs.

"He went up to his room, hes uh...getting some rest. Somethin' went wonky during your recovery, and we just...figured it was his system not working right! It's been a long day for - really all of us."

OJ just simply nodded, muttering a "understandable" as he stumbled off to a side room, this did not help Paper's worries - the object noting how off OJ looked, his eyes looking oddly glazed over - and void of the spark that they would have.

He stepped behind a table - watching as Pickle headed towards the front door, saying something about needing to step outside for a smoke break. What happened next was something he - no, nobody there could've predicted.

It was like a patch of reality distorted right as Pickle was about to open the doors, and OJ appeared out of nowhere.

"...Why are you trying to leave, Pickle?" his voice, though still sounding faintly hollow, now had a underlying stern tone - the glass crossing his arms. Pickle stumbled back, stammering in both confusion and fear. "I-" he raised a finger, "-why aren't we allowed to leave??"

OJ's face went blank again, looking right through the object he was speaking to.

"You shouldn't. Guests are supposed to stay."

I’m really stressed out right now, so don’t question why there are 20 muffins, seven cakes, and about 10 batches of cupcakes.

There was the smell of something burning. Something sweet that was beginning to over-caramelize .

Wasn’t what you smelt when you were having stroke or something like that? Or was that toast—? Could you even have a stroke when you were passed out?

Warren opened his eyes and took in a deep breath, realizing he was inside his penthouse with Bobby and Hank in the kitchen, doing something, or rather burning something in the kitchen. He can’t see with how Hank and Bobby are hiding what they’re doing.

“Guys?”

Hank turned around before Bobby, he was the one with heightened senses after all.

“Oh thank God he’s awake—! We thought you died!” Bobby exclaimed, dropping the burnt pop-tart on the floor. “I’ve been attempting to stress bake but all you have in your fridge is pop-tarts! Are you okay, wings?”

“Thought I died?” Warren’s mouth is extremely dry, and his breath feels almost sour. He was clearly alive and he was breathing.

“Well—You stopped having a pulse. Ever since you became blue, that is.” Hank replied and then picked up the burnt pop-tart from the floor. “Your breathing was really shallow, and we you were already blue, so we could not tell if you were dead or not. “

“I’m very clearly alive, aren’t I?” Warren put his hand on his wrist, and ever since he had become Death, he really took on the meaning of being dead. “What happened?”

“Well, we decided to have a night out—us boys only! Jean and Scott need not apply.” Hank said, and took. a bite out of the floor pop tart, which made Bobby vomit a  little in his mouth.

“Yeah, and me and the old Hankester here decided that we were gonna do shots, and you decided to join in.”

Warren briefly recalled the last shot he had downed. “I’ am not that much of a lightweight. I can hold my alcohol.”

“No, but you are, feathers!” Hank exclaimed and then climbed up to perch on the counter. “You had a few drinks, and then all of a sudden you were on the floor sprawled out, like a pigeon who had fallen from the sky.”

Warren huffed and crossed his arms. “Hm, I still don’t think I—“ He was trying to defend himself but Bobby and Hank wouldn’t let him do it.

“Galatians 4:16!” Bobby exclaimed out loud.

“Have I therefore become your enemy because I tell you the truth?” Hank responded, almost on cue. “Good one, Bob!”

“I thought you went to Hebrew school.” Warren raised an eyebrow and got off the couch. “How would you know that?” Warren was clearly annoyed at the both of them not letting him have a pleasant morning. Not that it would be pleasant with the damn migraine pounding his head.

“Dad’s a catholic.” Bobby shrugged, “And Hank’s mom makes me read the Bible with her and Hank whenever I visit them.”

“It’s true. Bless Mrs. McCoy’s heart!”

Warren didn’t want to think about the Bible study sessions at the McCoy household, but the thought of Bobby and Hank reading together was funny to him. He still wasn’t in a good mood, but he’d had to deal with Hank and Bobby for the rest of the day. So he’d change the subject.

“Do you two idiots want to have breakfast or are going to be eating pop-tarts all day?” Warren said as he lifted himself off the couch.

Bobby and Hank both smiled. As long as he’d pay, they would both be into it.

“you did this to me,” you mumbled, catching him off guard in the way you glared at him.

his jaw dropped, and he considered the pros and cons of just agreeing and taking the blame if that made you feel better. “I see…”

“if you got me pregnant, I wouldn’t have my period.”

his lips were now entirely pursed, a small squeak sounding from his throat. he sure would love to get you pregnant, but you both agreed to wait another year.

instead of speaking his thoughts, he came over to your side and stroked your arm comfortingly, urging you to relax so you could sleep it off. “I know, honey. how about I order your favourite pizza for dinner later?”

it might sound like he was talking to a child, but it worked as you scrunched your face up in pain and nodded at the suggestion. “you’re so good to me.”

he lifted his palms and shoulders, thinking to himself hell yes I am. “it’s easy when it’s you, my love.”

it is not. he loves you, but you're going to cause him a heart attack.

The sounds of the coffee shop around you filled the room; the everyday hustle and bustle of footsteps, casual chatter, and the clinking of porcelain cups were a familiar comfort, and god knows you needed it right now.

The face of the website you'd had open for several days now stared at you (through you?), the direct eye contact of the cartoon puppet mascots making you squirm in your seat.

Welcome Home! It said in bright pastel letters and a font you didn't recognize, though it sparked a deep sense of nostalgia in you; the whole concept did. In fact, that was the whole reason you’d found yourself falling down this rabbit hole of researching, trying any kind of letter combinations in the web address, scrolling through every page you could access with all the text highlighted.

You knew the secrets: the hidden messages, the png title responses in the guestbook, the audio mp4… and it thrilled you.

You hadn't grown up watching the infamous puppet show, of course, you doubt anyone has. Hell, part of you agreed with the people saying it didn't ever exist and all of this was just some online creepy pasta goosechase. Even though, it was so fun to play along, right? To be part of the community, or to be part of the joke, it didn't matter at the end of the day.

Whatever circumstances brought you to wherever you were mentally, and here to this cafe physically, this puppet show had you wrapped around its finger; you didn't really know if you loved the mascots, with their fun, bright designs and their bubbly personalities; something akin to what you'd grown up with, like you'd known them your entire life– or if they terrified you. The same traits that had made them so endearing made them so devoid of life, so lonely and cold when you’d think about it too long. Made to be loved by an audience just to be erased from history entirely- all to be excavated now, alongside these grotesque secrets and mysteries… like it was hidden for a reason. (Exciting, right?)

You scrolled absent-mindedly through the Neighborhood page, looking through all the biographies of the characters, picking apart the text in any ways you could, though you can only command-all and highlight for so long before it’s just a desperate attempt made in vain.

You felt yourself ease back into your chair; there aren't any more secrets to discover until the website is next updated.

As you half-heartedly scroll to click on the Good Bye!, a mystery in itself, you saw it.

Wally’s eyes had just followed your mouse, even by just half an inch, you Swear To God you saw them move.

An overwhelming tremor of sudden panic took over your body; you felt your heart fall deep into your stomach. With a loud thunk, you slammed your laptop closed. You felt the stares of concern burn into your back from the other patrons of the coffee shop, but you didn't care. Hoisting yourself up, laptop in tow, you hurry out through the door, only the greeting bell breaking the apprehensive silence youd left behind you.

Its nothing, you were just staring too long,

you'd thought, though partially drowned out by the sound of your footsteps and the deafening beating of your heart.

Of course you got freaked out, you were looking to be scared, so you came up with something to be scared of. That's all it is; made up.

It didn't really happen.

You had to tell yourself this several times as you walked to your car, trying to shake the image out of your head.

Tagging Vids on AO3

As I search for vids for the Escapade dance party, I notice just how many there are on AO3 these days.

That’s awesome, and everyone should keep it up! AO3 has way better metadata than Youtube or anywhere else vids can be found. (Bilibili? Hahaha. A nightmare!)

So here are some tips for tagging your vids:

#1 - Don’t use the ‘Video’ tag!

Video - 10,372 uses currently (counting all subtags, of course). That’s small compared to fic on AO3, but it’s still a lot more than you might think!

My dudes, that tag is very, very general. It shows up on some fics that are about video. It’s tagged on works that are a youtube video where someone reads a podfic (I guess because they want words on screen or because that’s an easier embed than most audio-only ones?). It shows up on vlog/podcast stuff.

I do search by it because it’s the top-level tag for all vid-like things, but let me suggest picking something more specific for your own works.

#2 - So what are good tags to use?

Here are some canonicals that are in current use. They are all subtags of ‘Video’.

Fanvids (8,440) - vids of most sources, including Asian live action and Western animation

AMV (319) - anime vids, especially if you want to preserve the distinction in history/aesthetic/community

Lord King Bad Vid (14) - [subtag of Fanvids] OTT earnest yet bombastic vids (see Fanlore)

Vidlet (77) - [subtag of Fanvids] like a video drabble

Episode vid (5) - [subtag of Fanvids] vids of a single episode of TV

Embedded Video (2575)

Video Format: Streaming (867)

Video Format: WMV (109)

Video Format: AVI (99)

Video Format: MP4 (249)

Why is ‘Fanvids’ plural and ‘AMV’ isn’t? Your guess is as good as mine. But those are the current canonicals, so I would tend to go with them.

#3 - Things I would NOT use

Tributes - too general, often Hunger Games fic or fic written in tribute to dead actors or something (Yes, I know it’s a standard vidding term on Youtube)

Fan Edit - no canonical; unpopular on AO3 and often used for graphics rather than video

LAMV, MMV, GMV, etc. - unpopular on AO3 and either unwrangled or syns of other tags

I have mixed feelings on those last ones. If you make a lot of GMVs and you want to popularize that term on AO3, I say go for it. If you’re doing live action vids, welcome to the land of oldschool fanvids and “vidding” culture. Leave your AMV-centric vocabulary behind.

#4 - Collections are your friend

In addition to tags, there are a number of collections that may be relevant to you, often for a particular convention vids were shown at.
