For what it’s worth, to those saying Hilarie Burton Morgan has beef with Joy Lenz over political views, I think it’s worth remembering that none of the Drama Queens are our political heroes. If we ever want to have true societal progress, we have to give people the space to learn and grow from their mistakes. Joy has said on Instagram that she doesn’t only follow the people whose rhetoric she believes in. I think I have followed her for a few years now on Instagram, and I haven’t seen anything right wing. I have seen anti-Trump, anti-human trafficking, and pro indigenous story posts though. If Hilarie can stand by Jeffrey Dean Morgan supporting blue lives matter, and even commenting that he was learning or whatever, then hopefully she can have some grace for her friend who likely needs more information on a social topic too. Hilarie is also pro military, so there’s that. 

EDIT To add that someone recently pointed out that Sophia was hanging out with James Franco after his Me Too allegations came out. She was also photographed with Diplo…

I posted this on twitter too but I wanna expand on it here so I saw someone saying that all hilarie, sophia and joy do on the drama queens podcast is complain about everything... you do know that all of them, ESPECIALLY hilarie, were sexually harassed by their boss for years so I think they've earned the right to say how uncomfortable they felt on the show. they're allowed to have a space now to talk about their experiences, and you're not seriously telling me you can't rewatch it and see the number of unnecessary underwear/bikini/sexy outfit/sexy position shots that were included because it's OBVIOUS. once you notice it, and factor in that man's behaviour, certain scenes do become uncomfortable to watch, and it is weird to have peyton changing or brooke half naked when there's no reason for it other than to appeal to men.

also, they're allowed to say a plotline doesn't make sense or they don't feel a character would say/do that. viewers say it all the time and they're experiencing it for the first time as viewers, so they're seeing it differently now. I complain about this line or that moment, and they can do the same too. just because they got paid to act it in that way doesn't mean they necessarily agree with it in the context of the whole episode, or now they see it again they might wish they'd done a different take on it.

if you honestly expected them to sit there and happily talk about their time on the show and not criticise anything or anyone then I'm sorry but that's unrealistic given their situation. hilarie left the show because of that man she's not exactly going to start praising him now or saying how amazing he was to work for. sophia was sexualised to a point she had to fight for her outfit choices just to feel like a person and not an object. joy was made to feel unattractive and motherly in her mid-twenties just because she was married in real life. they were pitted against each other from the start, so it's no wonder they don't have the fondest memories of this working environment.

I'm not saying I agree with every comment they make regarding the plot/characters, but they're allowed to have opinions without it changing canon. you don't have to listen if you don't want to, but let them talk freely about what that time means to them, even if it's not all happy memories or stories. this is their time to tell the truth and explain their feelings, no matter how hard it may be to hear

I LOVE how the girls pointed how out they HATED how OVERLY AGGRESSIVE real Derek was and how it plays into the stereotype that black men are his aggressive good for nothings, so thank you queens

I’d LOVE to hear Ernest Waddell’s thoughts on this and I HOPE he comes on the podcast.

Not to mention ALL NAMED black men with the exception of Skills are sadly problematic. Even Quintin sexually harassed Haley.

I also like how the girls pointed out Peyton nearly getting raped in her cheerleading class was NO DOUBT one of Mark Schwann’s fetishes since it would be “hotter” in a cheerleader outfit.

And to address the Chavez in the room… 😒

I’m HAPPY the girls pointed out even though Brooke is 18, it’s STILL WRONG AND DISGUSTING 🤮 He is her teacher and for him to say he fantasizes about high school cheerleaders??

Honestly this might be an unpopular opinion but I feel like fans are better at recapping shows than the actors because actors mainly just talk about bts and don’t get the show as much as the fans because they don’t dissect and analyze it as much as us. It’s not that the actors don’t care or love it but the fans will always have a deeper connection and will probably have better takes. This isn’t to say the actors are dumb or unworthy of recapping but fans are just better imo
