I was looking at my big ol men's jacket that I bought for myself, and realized...
I haven't drawn Akoya in Randy's clothes yet.
So I felt a mighty need to change that. XD

Chapter Fifteen: That's My Shirt (written for Zelinktines 24 day 15 prompt) It's a longer one today, but still under 1K 😬
Read below or HERE
As Link and Zelda are finishing breakfast a few days later, Grantéson stops by on the way to his stall with a letter from Hudson, requesting Link’s assistance once more with the skating rink. She doesn’t miss the light that comes to Link’s eyes at the prospect of trying out Hudson’s improved invention, and Zelda insists she can handle things around the house while he’s gone.
Unlike the last few times he’s left her to her own devices, she has every intention of clearing away the breakfast, tidying up the kitchen, and tackling the laundry that’s piled up. After he leaves she sits at the table a few moments longer sipping her cooling tea and gazing out at the hazy horizon, where the deep blue of the Akkala Ocean meets the pale blue of the clear sky. It’s beautiful here, peaceful and quiet, but also lonely, and Zelda has to wonder why Link chose this location. She’s never thought to ask until today and is glad for the company of their latest addition.
Speaking of the devil, as Kilton would say, and recalling how the diminutive man had seemed genuinely frightened of the fuzzy, white kitten, Zelda ducks her head beneath the table to find her licking her mouth.
“Has Link been feeding you bacon under the table again, Celeste?”
The kitten’s answering ‘chirrup’ is followed by her pouncing on Zelda’s bare toes, before scrambling up her leg, attempting to claw her way onto Zelda’s lap.
“Ouch, Celeste!” Zelda giggles, plucking the kitten from her shin before Celeste’s tiny claws can pierce her skin and sets her on her lap. Rubbing the kitten roughly behind the ears, as Zelda and Link have discovered she likes, Celeste squeezes her eyes shut and lifts her chin to give Zelda better access.
“He’ll be back later,” Zelda assures. “In the meantime, let’s wash the dirty clothes.”
Pushing her chair back, Zelda carries Celeste upstairs to her bedroom and drops the kitten on top of the garments in her hamper. She carries it to Link’s room to collect the clothes from the basket in the corner. When she opens the lid, her breath catches, seeing his original Champion’s tunic balled up on top. Even though she made him a new one, he hasn’t been able to part with this one, and still wears it on occasion.
Zelda shakes out the threadbare garment, that after a century and everyday wear and tear, has seen better days. The color has faded to a pastel blue and the darns in the elbows can be seen. Holding it to her nose, Zelda breathes in the essence of him, a fine mix of sweet grass, leather, and wood smoke, and closes her eyes recalling their recent kiss in the garden. It had opened a floodgate of feelings that had been as exhilarating as they had been overwhelming. She now finds herself longing to pick up where they left off but knows Link is right to take things slowly.
With a reluctant sigh, she tosses it on top of Celeste, who growls her displeasure before jumping out of the basket. Adding the rest of Link’s clothes, Zelda hauls the now full and cumbersome basket downstairs and outside to the well.
While Zelda retrieves the washtub and soap from beside the paddock where the horses doze, Celeste dives into the basket once more to burrow in the clothes. Dragging the tub across the lawn, Zelda fills it with water from the well, pulls Celeste from the pile, and sorts the clothes into light and dark piles. The kitten slows down the process by continually pouncing in the basket, pulling out garments, swatting at Zelda as she tries to retrieve items, and making her laugh. Eventually, Zelda triumphs over the little beast and finishes sorting. She begins washing the clothes, scrubbing, wringing, and hanging them on the line.
Soon enough she becomes immersed in the work, humming and contemplating what she could make for dinner if she has the energy. She’s just hanging the last pair of trousers when she hears Link calling her name before he appears around the corner of the house. Zelda peers over the line she’s pulled down to pin the waistband and beams at the bewildered look on his face.
“Surprised?”
“Very.” He walks over and kisses her temple, and Zelda feels a pleasant flush warm her cheeks at his touch. “This must have taken you all day.”
“I enjoyed it, actually.” It felt good to be contributing more and not simply existing. “Celeste helped.”
Link grins and Zelda’s heart flip-flops in her chest at the sight. Since their brief discussion and adopting Celeste, he’s been in better spirits.
“Where is she?” He looks around the washtub and in the empty basket.
“I’m not sure, I lost track of time,” Zelda admits, becoming worried.
“She’ll come when it’s dinner. I’ll feed the horses and then we can go inside, okay?” He heads to the paddock, where Star and Epona whinny greetings. Epona nudges his shoulder, and Link fondly rubs her nose. Zelda follows after him to retrieve the fresh water bucket.
Link is pulling the oats bag down from a shelf when he looks down. “What the…” Trailing off, he leaves the bag and crouches down. “Zelda, that’s my shirt.”
“What?” Zelda moves to stand behind him and begins giggling when she sees Celeste curled up on top of the Champion’s tunic. “Oh my!”
Shaking his head, Link reaches out to scratch Celeste behind the ears. She cracks her eyes open and begins purring, tiny paws kneading the pale blue fabric beneath her. “I guess this is a sign I need to let that old shirt go.”
Zelda kneels behind him, draping her arms over his chest to rest her chin on his shoulder. Her heart swells when he leans into her embrace and covers her hands with one of his own.

Link
“Don’t hang up” Kouyou’s voice sounds through the call, cold and bitter. Dazai blinks, shoulders relaxing slightly because he’d been expecting Mori. “Now, that’s funny” Dazai grits against the receiver “Bye, Ane-san” “It’s Chuuya” she says, and while her voice is even, there’s a sharp kind of desperation in it, so much of it that he feels himself freezing. Dazai does not hang up.
Or, Dazai made sure Mori would know that using Chuuya to get him to come back wouldn’t work. He lied about it with a bomb, loud and clear. He just didn’t expect Chuuya to end up believing it too. Or alternatively, the one in which Chuuya uses Corruption during Dazai’s defection and Dazai comes back for him.

Ramble 6: The Rain Fight
Great okay so now I'm thinking about how we all know the "it's not my fault you don't like girls" line hurt on its own, yes. Like that clearly stings, it's mean and it's rude and it's kind of homophobic.
But what really gets me? Not the words. It's the fact that they come from Mike.
It's being able to pinpoint the realization, for Will, that his strongest safe space is gone. The person he trusted to always be a safe space for him no longer exists (from Will's perspective). "Crazy together" is gone. Will's now fully and truly crazy alone, just like he feared not even 9 months earlier. The door has shut.
It's the fact that Will probably remembered, on the bike home, that Mike's side of "crazy together" was linked to El, not to him. Never to him.
It's Will, 14 years old, realizing that he was so stupid to think it could last. To think that "crazy together" meant anything outside of momentary comfort and reassurance between friends.
It's Will likely realizing that even back then, even during the downward spiral to his lowest point, El must have been Mike's priority. That El was the one occupying Mike's thoughts, worrying him day and night. That Mike visited when Will was sick to be a good friend, and then most likely (from Will's now unreliable POV) sticking by him through the rest of it to make sure he didn't kill anyone important.
It's Will possibly thinking back to waking up to his mom, Jonathan, and goddamn Nancy after the exorcism, but no Mike. No, Mike was off risking his life to protect El from the demodogs. It's Will possibly coming to believe that Mike left him for El.
It's everything clicking for Will in one terrible, heart-rending moment. It's the idea that this could be the exact moment when his brain pieced everything together, that this is what convinced him that Mike could never and would never love him in the same way, that this is what lead to him becoming convinced him that he should be grateful for friendship at best and never push for anything more. It's the idea that this was the missing puzzle piece that pulled all the other little details together into the bigger message for Will.
It's the fact that Will carries this into season 4. We never really see him open up fully after season 3. He gets close, during the heart to hearts, but he doesn't explicitly attach himself to any of it. Everything he says is retractable, able to be explained away easily. It's seeing Will snap into defense mode, emotionally, around Mike...and never leave it. It's being able to pinpoint the moment that this change happens.
That's what gets me.

Hey Eclipse, has Doom contacted you lately?
"Um...heh, not really, no. Haven't heard from him ever since he dropped me off with Shadow. But I'm sure that just means he's busy or whatever! He is the leader of an entire alien army, you know. I'd be pretty occupied too! That doesn't mean he isn't coming back."
"...It doesn't."

SFR Update: Quakes n’ shocks.
Hey all! It’s been a bit. I mean the last time I did one of these was last year!
Cue Laugh Track
I guess it’s that time again for a semi-regular, completely unscheduled update on that Sol Regem fic that aims to make everyone emotionally numb.
Unfortunately there’s some real-life angst in that my holiday break has been over for a bit now which means it’s back to the grind for me and less time to work on the story (ewww) which means progress has slowed again. I’m still aiming to make progress on weekends though! And so far, I’m managing to stick that.
Since the last update I’ve started the rough draft of chapter 6 and actually managed to get a decent chunk into it. Currently I’m about 6.4k words in, hoping to get more progress soon as well! This chapter may also be a bit shorter than some previous ones but it ends at a point that feels pretty fitting so I feel as if I shouldn’t artificially extend it past that. So far it looks like this will mainly turn out to be a character development chapter where some of our heroes struggle to come to terms with the climactic events of chapters 3, 4 and 5. Hope you all are ready for this, because even though it may not be as climactic as the burning cities, burning castles and raging wars from those chapters, you know what character development chapter means? ANGST BOMB OH BOY!
Given this chapter’s nature as basically being set in the immediate fallout from past events, I’ve also decided on a name on this chapter. I’ve decided that “Aftershocks” would be a pretty fitting name as it basically describes what goes on quite well. And once again, me and my extreme lack of art skills have conjured up a basic as hell image for this chapter.
Tumblr media
That’s really all I have to say for now. As always, thank you all for sticking around and your patience! I’ll try to have this chapter out as quick as I can but, as always, it depends on a number of factors that probably can’t be predicted so we’ll see. I’m definitely aiming to not make you wait as long as chapters 4 and 5 though because that was kinda ridiculous... (don’t even have the good excuse of 2 chapters for 1 like I did in that case so... hehe...)
Thank you for listening to me ramble and I’ll see you again when I have some more interesting stuff to share!

Daily Mikavanni Headcanon 4
If they were to propose to the other, it would be somewhere private, a place just for them. They don’t like the attention and the pressure of public proposals.
They’d drop very subtle hints about it. They only figure out the others plan when they both reach into their own pocket and pull out a small black box.
Then the two lock eyes and realize what was happening and internally freak out.
Also, where do you think they’d spend their honeymoon? I’m thinking Gevanni takes him to Italy, but I’m not too sure…

tw for angst + you're mommaguro | part two
"I hear mommy crying every night." Megumi's little voice spoke up as he and Toji stood in line at the grocery store after he picked his son up from your studio apartment that wasn't far from his school.
Toji's eyes shifted down to the little boy who looked so much like him, feeling his heart twist at the thought of you so torn up over it all.
Once everything was on the belt and his wallet was pulled out, Toji looked at his son with a soft expression, unsure what to say or how to explain to him that he was the reason for it all.
Toji tried to be the best husband and father, but it seemed his family's shortcomings didn't cultivate a good childhood for him to learn how to be the man you needed him to be, and that killed him.
He followed his nature unknowingly, ruining his relationship with you, and now he was struggling with how to reply to the bomb that was dropped on him in a public place.
Being only eight years old, Megumi was attuned to his surroundings and had a sharp eye when it came to stuff like that with you, all in all, he's a momma boy, and seeing you like that hurts his little heart.
You always waited until he was asleep, or so you thought before breaking down into a fit of tears and not letting your weathering storm get him wet as well.
It's only been less than a year since the divorce and you still spent your time healing from it and the loss of the man you learned to love despite the sharp edges he still held up in defense even though you were the only person who was never against him, always for though.
Toji's scars were too deep to heal fully and even though you tried to bandage him it held up for a little until it didn't. "How about we go back and see mommy for a little bit? That would make her happy."
Seeing Megumi's face light up knowing he would see you again made his heart ache with jealousy.
You've always been the default parent even though Toji tried to help his best, it seemed his son really didn't care for him, just his momma.
Twenty minutes later Toji stood at your door knocking on it as Megumi held the bags hearing you shuffle and sniffle as you came closer to open the door seeing your ex-husband and son holding a few bags that were filled with all your favorites.
"Momma!" Megumi cried as he dropped his sack to wrap his arms around your legs hugging you tightly as you looked at him then Toji who shrugged wanting to reach out to comfort you, instead another voice came from behind you, a very familiar one too, his co-workers.

YOU!! I DONT KNOW IF PEOPLE SEND ASKS ABOUT HEARTLESS ANYMORE BUT I RECENTLY RESURFACED BACK TO IT AND I JUST *EXPLOSION SOUNDS* /pos
BRO I cannot express to you how much I think about Doppel and Glass and their character concepts and their dynamic and just generally the story. Man, I don't know what it is about those two, but like...AJHSJHD!!
I really like thinking about angst and ways that you can make both of them complex and stuff, you know, separating from just "haha silly comic relief guys!" I like thinking about them and how their not the same, and how they're both technically separate beings kinda? And how they're different and stuff and AA-
ALSO I love they're character design man? Like, it looks...crunchy. that's probably a bad way to put it, but they feel like those sensory videos where people take wax and slime and crush it all up and its really satisfying and crunchy.
AUGH they're all so awesome and I love love LOVE thinking about Heartless as a story and how it would play out and stuff. Keep up the good work and stuff, sorry for word bombing you I just suddenly got a lot of feelings and had to get it out somewhere
sgssgfjsgh thank u so much for taking the time to send this ask dude!
Seeing any love for the Heartless gang always sparks more joy than I can convey, no matter when -- but ur timing is uncanny haha, these two have been on my mind a lot lately too! (Especially since the new Madds Buckley song dropped 'cause it's just sO--- 👀😩🤌)
I'm not very articulate rn but pls take this doodle as a big thank u for the encouragement and for sharing ur thoughts about 'em! 🪞💜
