5/21/20 #cardoftheday is #thetower from the #druidcrafttarot. I have an ongoing relationship with this card in particular. For a while it seemed to come up very frequently- usually just when it seemed that I’d had everything figured out. I thought I had a direction my life was going in and was taking all the necessary steps and then boom- it all came crumbling down. I built up this narrative about the Universe crumbling my block tower each time I thought I’d gotten it just right. I was resentful every time something went wrong. I hesitated when trying to make long term plans because what if it all fell again? The thing about The Tower, though, is that it crumbles and burns and shakes because its foundation is poor. When it falls, we are given the opportunity to clear away the bad pieces and start again. And usually, there’s some warning before a collapse that we aren’t constructing a very well-laid foundation to begin with. The world feels like that these days. Wildfires raging in parts of the world, the virus, in Michigan right now we have some devastating flooding... But what can we learn from the Tower? That what foundations we laid were weak. That we need to pay attention to our actions and their consequences. That we need to work harder towards a more sustainable future than we’re headed for now. Lots to think about when this card appears. Hopefully we build something better. Today’s card: 10 of Pentacles from the DruidCraft Tarot.

Meaning: blessings, prosperity, legacy.

Ten is a number of completion, of endings and new beginnings. In the earthy, practical suit of Pentacles, it means creating and enjoying an abundant, prosperous, and full life.

Number 10 adds a sense of continuity: you’re not only enjoying the fruits of your labor privately (as in 9 of Pents), you’re also passing them on to others. You’re enjoying and creating something more permanent and lasting.

This card can literally mean a legacy: receiving one or creating one, either for your family or a wider community. It can mean something you’ve received from your ancestors, built upon, and will pass on to the next generations. It’s something that will live longer than you.

In the smaller matters of everyday life, as a daily card, the ten of Pentacles probably doesn’t mean you’ll receive a fortune from your late aunt Sally (though it can happen). The card means all kinds of wealth, prosperity and abundance. Perhaps you’re enjoying a family tradition or celebration with your loved ones. You may be having a good day at work, you’ve secured a good position and are reaping the rewards. Your investments are doing well. You feel secure and rooted.

Whatever the “legacy” means today, enjoy your day. This is a nice card to get. Take a moment to appreciate the abundance and security in your life. Ask yourself, “Am I creating something positive and lasting today?”

This was the card I pulled today as a “what to keep in mind for the day” draw. Well. Normally this is the devil card but in #druidcrafttarot it’s #cernunnos which basically a #pagan #Celtic nature deity kinda like Greek God Pan. It was a reminder to me to listen to nature and go with the flow, move with the cycle and season that it is instead of getting hooked in unnecessary fear and drama and excessive productivity thinking. . Well. The wildlife around my neighborhood has been mostly quiet. I took a three hour nap today. Dozed this evening cuddling with my spouse. I made a instant pot cake for our anniversary and one necklace. I swept. I did dishes. Really. That’s all I did today. . And I allowed myself to do only that because I was reminded to listen to the wildlife around me and take my cues from them today. . Stay sane safe and well! And may the rains come soon. . So I haven’t done a draw for a couple of days. When I finally did, I got this! Now, my first thought wasn’t “who is out to get me?” My first thought was “am I doing this to myself?” Am I making things worse for myself? Was my lack of choosing what I should be doing (Two of Swords from the other day) a stab in the back? While I have decided what I really want (and need) to do, I am still a little hesitant.
