i felled voss and qudenos at the mountain pass (and you can too)
Tumblr media
this works (for some definition of "works") as of patch 4. why anyone other than me would want to do this is beyond me, as they're only worth a combined 650 xp
first of all you can't just barrelmancy them. voss will parry as much as (and probably more) 80 damage from one source (despite this being way more than the 20 he should be able to parry and the fact that barrels are generally not considered weapons). i tried getting around this ability by incapacitating him, but he shrugs off hold person immediately (on your turn in turn-based mode) and doesn't even bother rolling a save for drow poison.
what you're instead going to do is trigger the first cutscene with the gith patrol and then progress to act 2 through grymforge. when you return to the mountain pass, you will be able to damage (and more importantly if you want 400 xp, aggro) voss. a couple of well-placed barrels should do the trick.
unless you somehow managed to find way more explosives than i did, this will not kill qudenos. not even close. this next bit is a little jank and almost definitely not worth the measly 250 xp (and no loot) you get for it.
you will need mourning frost, a scroll of polymorph, basic poison, water, several smokepowder barrels, a fire arrow, so much fucking willpower, and two hours of time that you don't mind pissing away
step 1: polymorph their ass. i did this at level 5 on my st joat file so my chance of success was 9%. do not be like me.
step 2: toss a basic poison at them. this is not strictly necessary, but it will save you a couple hours. just make sure they actually get poisoned.
step 3: deal cold damage to the sheep. it doesn't matter if the polymorph breaks; they just need to fail the save against chilled. once you're done soft resetting, start running for the hills.
step 4: make that dragon wet (and then frozen). note that frozen only lasts for one turn. you'll want to be a pretty good distance away from ground zero at this point.
step 5: light 'er up. (while qudenos is still frozen)
congrats on wasting several hours of your life :]

Can You Dump RV Grey Water Anywhere? Know the Law Before You Flow
Boondocking. Going off-grid. Getting back to nature. Whatever you want to call it, this type of camping connects us directly to the great outdoors. Whether it’s the Copper Basin’s wide-open spaces or the dramatic elevation of the Appalachian Mountains—including the Blue Ridge and the Great Smoky Mountains—nature calls us to unplug and explore. But here’s something we all eventually face: once our…

.... logically, I knew they were different things but yeah this was a thing I mixed up a lot as a child, I feel a little better knowing others have as well
there was a brief period of time in my childhood where for some reason I thought pelicans and storks were the same thing. so when people referred to "babies brought by the stork" i (very naturally!) would picture a pelican carrying a baby around...in its mouth. bc a pelican mouth is about the right size for it. great for carrying baby shaped objects.
when i tell you the Pelican Put Baby In Mouth post recalled something absolutely primal in me...

caldwell. why would you make intelligence sols dump stat. WHY is his strength 12. hes a MONK he doesnt need STRENGTH. intelligence checks and saves are soooo much more common than strength ones. the only real reason for someone to have a high str is if they need weapons, which sol doesnt use. and even if he DID need strength. CALDWELL. YOU BUILT HIM AS A WAY OF THE ASTRAL SELF MONK. THEY LITERALLY HAVE A CLASS FEATURE WHERE YOU REPLACE YOUR STR MODIFIER WITH YOUR DEX MODIFIER. WHY WOULD YOU EVER NEED A +1 IN STRENGTH???????? WHY IS STRENGTH NOT YOUR DUMPSTAT. CALDWELL .

dnd5e!yellowjackets HC
Since the last post about this ended up getting over like 5 notes I decided to actually flesh this out somewhat properly. To the incredibly niche group of people who will actually be interested in this, please let me know your thoughts!
Shauna: Soulknife Rogue + Path of Wild Magic Barbarian multiclass
Tumblr media
I feel like there could be an argument for Bard with her writing but I feel like the whole brooding, tortured personality really lends itself to the rogue stereotype. Plus, how could we forget Mrs. ‘it’s just like riding a really gross fucked-up bike’... She's 100% proficient with finesse blade weapons. Charisma dumpstat queen! I also know in my heart of hearts she HAS to have some levels in Barbarian after the whole Lottie thing. No spoilers but "As folk of deep feeling, barbarians are especially susceptible to these wild influences, with some barbarians being transformed by the magic." (Barbarian: Path of Wild Magic, TCoE) tell me this isn't literally about her and Bard!Jackie's influence?
Jackie: College of Glamour Bard
Tumblr media
College of Glamour has Jackie written ALL over it. Jackie who got picked to be captain because of her influence? Bet. Every single ability in this class sounds like it was written with this bitch in mind. 'weave a song of fey magic that imbues your allies with vigor and speed', 'charge your performance with seductive, fey magic', 'makes others want to serve you', 'makes you look more lovely and fierce', like bro come on. She'd be out on a quest serving face and giving little speeches like she did for Allie, throwing Bardic Inspirations left right and centre (especially at Shauna).
Lottie: Circle of the Shepherd Druid + Order Domain Cleric multiclass
Tumblr media
I feel like this is such a clear cut one that I barely need to explain myself. I definitely think Lottie's a Druid as her main class, with some levels in Cleric and not the other way around. I don't think she set out to be a messiah of the wilderness, she was literally just a girl listening to the trees and kind of fell into it as the others started following her lead. Lottie's connection to the Wilderness and her willingness to lead the other girls towards its worshipping (Laura Lee style lmao) is so Shepherd coded lmfao. I was on the fence between Order, Tempest and Nature (basic and boring) for the Cleric subclass but I truly think Lottie's worshipping of the Wilderness comes from a place of following what she perceives as the natural order of things i.e. 'he doesn't belong to her', letting the cards pick who Snackie 2.0 is, 'It wants us to'... need I go on?
Natalie: Hunter Conclave Ranger if we're being basic / Gloom Stalker (Doom Stalker!) Ranger if we're being spicy
Tumblr media
Okay so I am still undecided on this one and thoughts/opinions are so welcome. So, Natalie is definitely a Ranger, not just for the whole gun thing but because she's the literal embodiment of survival, even before they ever got stranded. Similarly to Bard!Jackie, I truly believe all ranger abilities apply so well to Natalie's character, especially if you think about her "outcast" status in school. Hunter is the most obvious subclass choice because she is quite literally the group's main hunter, but I feel like Gloom Stalker fits her present day character so well.
Taissa: Fiend Patron (?) Warlock + College of Eloquence Bard multiclass
Tumblr media
Tai might be a lawyer-state senator girlboss, but she is haunted by a strange alter ego and a dude with no eyes FIRST! I definitely think her weird fugue self is her patron, but I'm not sure how that would translate into an actual subclass so I'll just stick with Fiend for now (Dirt Fiend!Tai my beloved). Besides being a grade A dirt eater, she's also got at least 3 levels in Bard for the College of Eloquence subclass since that's like textbook lawyer/politician. Unlike Natalie, I think her '96 self fits the multiclass aspect well and it definitely would still apply in school and then in the Wilderness.
Van: Oath of Devotion Paladin
Tumblr media
Now, when I wrote this down in my notes app I did have it written as 'Paladin (OATH! OF! DEVOTION!!!!)' for a reason. This bitch is a ride or die (or get mauled by wolves) to her core. There are so many reasons why Paladin fits Van so well! Firstly, I think we can easily draw parallels with her goalkeeper position in football (fuck saying soccer). Her buying into Lottie's Wilderness cult stuff also heavily matches the Paladin schtick, but I think we can trace it back all the way to her relationship with Tai. Even before she embraces the Wilderness worshipping, she's so incredibly devoted to Tai that she risks dying just to go support her girlfriend in her mission to find help.
Misty: School of Illusion Wizard
Tumblr media
Misty was a tricky one to figure out but I definitely thought it had to be a spell casting class. Despite her leg-chopping, cliff-pushing, stew-spiking antics, I don't think Misty would fit a melee or a more physical class very well. Out of all the casters, I think Wizard suits Misty the most because I do think everything Misty has, she's had to build herself. She had to learn how to adapt, whether that be socially (autistic queen) or practically (she'll learn any skill just to be useful an needed), in order to fit in in a way that the other girls just do. This aligns incredibly well with how Wizards don't have innate magical abilities, but do have an incredibly large pool of knowledge that they can gather. I was actually split between School of Enchantment or Illusion for the longest time, because I can see both of them applying to Misty to some degree. In the end, I went with school of Illusion because I don't think she is necessarily as charming and the Enchantment subclass suggests, given how off-putting she comes across even in the present timeline and to people who didn't know her weird, psycho little self in school. Instead, I feel like her ability to manipulate people comes from her fabricating situations and bending reality to match her wants and needs. Destroying the black-box, getting a nursing degree, being a goddamn citizen detective, are all ways that Misty has found to create the illusion that she's useful, needed, innocent, normal.
Some of these are way longer than others (also it's like 3 am and I have had my bodyweight in sangria tonight so idek if they're coherent) but I hope it's still an interesting read. I'm definitely up for discussing anything a bit further with anyone who actually cares enough to read this lmfao.
I've also decided to spend my Christmas holiday designing custom, Yellowjackets inspired character sheets for each of these bitches despite knowing fuck all about graphic design software so I might post those eventually.

You ever get an idea in your head and then 4 hours later you regret everything you've ever done?
Anyway, I'm making DND character sheets for every character on the Realm, and here's a little glimpse at two chosen completely at random with no relation to the other, wow:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thoughts in the read more lol:
I actually didn't even start with these two, I started with Bekyamon since I have the strongest sense of her character in a DND setting, but then I started designing Bad. And then I remembered the existance of Aasimars and their heavenly origins in comparison to Tieflings' hellish ones. And then I saw that there were two opposite flavors of sorcerer. And then literally every ability and choice I made so perfectly opposed each other that I actually feel insane, how are they so destined to be each other's other half??
Anyone, fun details in the choices I made in their builds:
I originally just chose Dex as Bad's dumpstat because I was struggling with what else to lower given his character, but then when you put it in the context of the rest of the mechanics, it actually means that he is actually nearly impossible to NOT hit.
I struggled so hard with his background too, even the one I choose really doesn't fit, but at least it acknowledges the tragedy that tr!Bad is carrying with him into his new life in shape or form
I actually did not intend to make Foolish a support build when I started his character sheet, but as a ruler of a kingdom, I actually really like the idea of him focusing on empowering and protecting the Fools rather directly engaging in combat himself. It just coincidentally *also* was a perfect opposition to the demonic magic I equipped Bad with so I couldn't just change it
Likewise, tr!Bad's controlling/destructive magic fits really well with the fact that he is struggling to trust and connect with even his closest allies. I think maybe in someway, the version I created believes that the only way he might be able to get unwavering support is through magical means. I swear I did not mean to make him this tragic, *he* made his character like that
The only thing I didn't make them complete opposites in was character alignment because I literally could not fathom either of them being even slightly lawful. I thought about making them both chaotic neutral for being such pot-stirrers, but I have a special place in my heart for chaotic evil characters who aren't just bad people. Tr!Bad is not a good person, but he is kind and never mean-spirited, he just also will never ever be the type to avoid picking sides or make personal sacrifices for the greater good. He is built to be an antagonist, and he's very good at it.
This is less character specific, but all the characters are at level 3 because that's typically when you've exited the "tutorial" stage of DND and all the classes have their specialization by then. I have another plan to also flesh out each character to a certain higher level depending loosely on their power level relative to the assumed level cap (i.e. Clown level 20 wizard, Bad around level 18, Tubbo around 10, Slime downgraded to 1, etc, etc) but I think I might actually go insane if I do that so like. To be determined if I go that far or not.
Anyway, I have a Scott, Tubbo and Bekyamon character sheets completed also, but I might post those separately after I've embraced the cool gentle embrace of sleep lol

Scam smiles into the kiss for a moment before pulling Jodie even closer, taking control of the kiss. With two hands around his waist, one on the side of his face, and the other in Jodie’s hair Scam kisses him passionately, aiming for a kiss Jodie would not be forgetting any time soon.

Hmm… I know I’m definitely Morosexual~!
He laughs but then looks a bit more serious
…I don’t know where else I would categorize myself buttttt I’m not sure I want to!
I’m just me! And I’m attracted to all sorts of things! Demons and cops and guitar playing husbands~ not that it matters though since someone went and selfishly ruined my canon!~
