And with that the Cover for Ages of Ruin is done. For those curious I wrote a blurb under the cut, to give you a first impression of this story. If you value going into a read without prior knowledge, don't click on keep reading.

This is going to be a Webnovel, so it will not include any Comic pages.

Since that fateful day 10 Years ago, no Eevee has been able to evolve. Ever since the day without Sun, also known as the Second Cataclysm, no Evolution Stone nor any amound of friendship, had any effect at all. And to make things worse, all Eevees born from that day on seem to get weaker and weaker, slowly losing their Infinity Energy.

Dune is a shiny Eevee, that was born on the day without sun and Kuro the Umbreon ist her stoic travel compaion. Together they set out to find, what caused Eevees to be unable to evolve and figure out a way to reverse it. On thier journey they will find new freinds, powerful allies and secrets as old as time itself. Can they forge a better future and save this decaing world from falling into further Ruin.

And with that, I hope that, I could get you interested in this Story and I hope you will enjoy your read. Updates should be posted weekly, maybe faster some weeks.

been fiddling with a beach and i think i've got it mostly figured for the toon shaders :) there's definitely some jank i could try addressing when i start building the environments i really need (mainly the textures showing the ground meshes clipping into each other) but at least the rough execution is down now

Once again, I dreamt of regional pokemon variants!

Dream Jolteon (Grass/Fire): A very cautious and skittish Pokemon. This variant ofJolteon often herald the coming of autumn.

Dream Vaporeon (Ground/Dragon): While Kantonian Vaporeon are known for their ability to disappear in water, this variant vanishes into dunes. It appears to be completely made of sand, even lacking eyes and other organs.

Dream Flareon (Fairy/Poison): The fur is delightfully crispy and filled with a spicy sauce. Completely edible, it may offer a paw for friends to nibble. Alt Entry: This variant was first discovered when an Eevee licked extremely hot sauce off a kitchen floor.

Gerudo Lynel's Eye is primarily composed of a yellow gemstone with layers of red and brown minerals interspersed. At the right angle, the stone takes appearance of the sun setting below the dunes.

The Gerudo trade many gemstones, but Lynel's Eye is not available to outsiders. One has to be very well-liked by someone very influential to be gifted one, much less an earring with two large stones in the shape of the Gerudo crest.

This is the third of my 3D models of @anartweirdosworld's earring designs. This one by far took the longest owing to the four attempts at the gemstone material before I was happy enough to call it good enough. It's still not exactly what I envisioned, but I am not so good at material nodes to be able to invent chatoyancy for Blender Eevee. Despite thousands of resources that exist for Blender, this is one area where there's simply nothing.

Edit: after visiting my local gemstone store, I have found Gerudo Lynel's Eye bears a significant resemblance to yellow fluorite, far more than the Tiger's Eye that inspired it.

I am so so sorry for my lack of a letter on Tuesday. Things are really staring to kick up at the sanctuary and I simply did not have the time. So today you are getting a Thursday letter instead of a Friday letter to try and make up for it.

It seems that we have resolved the Walrein issue. Unfortunately, it seems that the only Walrein that the pod will accept as their leader is…Wallace. It’s going to break my heart to see him go, but it’s for the best for both him and the pod.

Drea: Hi darling. Of course I can help you with the service mon stuff when I get home, it would be my pleasure. It can be a bit nerve wracking, but you’re being very brave asking me about it and I promise I will train you up the best and most gentle service mon. I see Ingo and Emmet are visiting! A shame that I missed them, they are excellent battlers and I would have loved to have a mock battle against them. Another time. I’m sure they will train up your Larvitar to be wonderful and strong! It’s lovely to see Liam and Dune getting on well.

Viv: Hello dewdrop :) Augh I’m missing you so much. My futon is lonely without you in it. I would say cold but it turns out Bird is quite clingy at bed time haha. I got an idol commissioned for you, a carved on of a crowen gyarados. And one for Drea of a sudowoodo but that’s a surprise. It’ll be ready next week. Ah. Speaking of. It’s going to take me a bit longer to get home. Skie got it in xer head that while I’m here I should do an interview on the main Sanctuary account, so it seems that’s what I’ll be busy with next week. But I’ll be on my way home as soon as that’s all done. Lovely to hear that Queenie and the babies are doing well. How is Dreamie? I’m missing seeing her little face in the tank by my bed every morning, lovely little girl.

this should be a diary entry but tumblr is my diary so here y’all go.

my crush didn’t give me anything for my birthday (in december) even though he did give a girl friend of his 3 dune books on her birthday (february). granted, that friend is one he has known for a few years while i met him only almost 8 months ago. however, this to me is a sign that he might not like me back in a romantic way, or at least he’s not interested in showing it. i think if he were interested in making some kind of romantic display a birthday gift is something easy for that. i’m thinking about this since for the past months ive been super confused as to whether he likes me or not.

which leads me to the question of “should i give him something for his birthday?” and, if yes, what.

here are the issues:

1. i feel that i cant Not give him something because i gave one of our mutual friends a gift on his birthday. so im now established as someone who gives gifts. also. the gift i gave to that friend was kind of personalized because it was an eevee keyring i had laying around and i knew that eevee was his favorite pokemon.

2. i can’t give him something too romantic-display-ey because i recently heard him say the phrase “my girlfriend” and im losing my mind because my brain wants to convince itself that it heard wrong but i know what i heard but what if.. i didn’t… anyway just in case i can’t be too forward.

so i gotta give my crush something. and it’s gotta be something somewhat personalized. but not too personal or too elaborate for it to be interpreted as me flirting with someone who already has a girlfriend. but if he does not have a girlfriend it would be nice if he took this gift as a sign of me liking him. but also the petty voice in my head says he doesn’t really deserve anything since he didn’t give me anything for my own birthday lmao (the friend i gave the keyring to has also gifted me a pin).

after thinking all of this i have settled on a cute cat bookmark i found in a cute cat-themed shop this weekend, which plus like some candy i think is a gift that perfectly balances everything above. i know he likes cats but also everyone likes cats so its cool.

but now i feel very silly because ive put all this thought into something apparently so simple, and now i will have this little object in my house until MAY. i have his birthday gift over 2 months early, because i started thinking about it like 3-4 months early.

and this is when i think that Marinette Miraculous may seem absolutely insane to most people but i get her. i do.

Hey Bill! Do you know any Sandile factoids? My partner won’t believe me they’re JUST AS cute as their Eevee.

Though I'm personally inclined to agree that eevee are particularly cute pokémon with very few rivals, I'll admit sandile has its own merits and that it is, in fact, adorable as well.

That said, factoids!

Sandile are actually quite social, which is a trait they gradually lose as they move up their evolution chain. That is, sandile often live in large packs, while krookodile with with only a few fellow krokorok at a time, and krookodile, being highly violent and territorial, will be mostly solitary. This is because sandile are very much like many other first-stage pokémon: they're weaker and thus rely on numbers in order to survive.

This is especially true when it comes to hunting, as their favored prey is trapinch, a pokémon gifted with the ability to craft deadly sand traps, the ability to bite through tough material (including sandile skin), and, often, equally territorial and protective flygon guardians.

Though they're ground-types who normally live in sand dunes, sandile will often migrate to freshwater bodies, such as rivers and oases, in order to mate and lay their eggs. In fact, the edges of such bodies of water are often easy places to find female sandile, as the females will stick around the nests they've made there until their offspring have hatched, then migrate back inland with their young.

Why would ground-types lay their eggs near water? Two reasons. First, it's an easy source of food (namely, magikarp) and water. Second, the pokémon that often live in or close to these bodies are also easy protection against the pokémon most likely to forage their eggs. (That is, the biggest predators for sandile eggs and hatchlings are darumaka and . . . trapinch. Water-types—or at least the cacnea that migrate to and from sources of water—make for excellent bodyguards against one or both of these.)

The rumor that sandile live in the sewers of Castelia City is just that: a rumor.

The idea that they've become an invasive species to certain parts of Vivax, however . . . apparently less so. Despite the fact that half of Vivax is a swamp. Make of this what you will regarding Vivax Man and whatever happened here.

Honestly one of my favorite parts of pokemon legends is how much charm the npcs around town have. Like, Floara and his eevee? Adorable! Beauregard and his wurmple buddy?  I adore them! Marli who loves starly but is too scared of pokemon to actually touch one? Hope one day she feels like she can! Radisa and her adventures of pickling with pokemon friends? I love her so much. Choy and Tao Hua? Dumbasses the both of them, love them for it. Leif, Dune, and Tarush’s argument about Burmy? Hilarious! Ida’s at first wariness around Chimecho before realizing that the cute little guy had already become a part of her routine? Beloved to me! I do really enjoy the side characters in this game and I genuinely start to feel like a part of this community after doing some of these side quests

Nasty Plot

Does anyone remember that old Celebi event from 2011, released around the end of February?

There wasn't really anything notable about the Celebi itself, it wasn't shiny or anything, and its moveset really wasn't all that notable or special... Well, except for that ONE move.

When you put it on your HeartGold/SoulSilver game, it triggered some sort of in-game event that I had no idea how to access. Nobody ever told me what I was supposed to do, but I had no idea that it'd be anything like THIS.

It all started after I eagerly rushed in and out of GameStop to receive my adorable Celebi. It was one of my favorite Pokémon, and I was ready to play with it as soon as I got home.

When I started up my game, I gasped when I didn't see it in my party. I panicked for a moment, until I remembered I just had to go to the Pokémart to get it, and was relieved. I happily hummed to myself as I ran to the Goldenrod City's huge Pokémart place.

I talked to the delivery man. I didn't even pay attention to what he said and just skipped through all of his text.

Once all was said and done, I opened up my party. I went into a squealing fit when I saw Celebi sitting at the bottom.

I switched my new Celebi to the front of my party and then exited out of the menu. I ran out of the store and immediately turned around and talked to it.

”CELEBI seems to be feeling great about walking with you!”

I talked to it again.

”Woah! CELEBI suddenly hugged you!”

I squealed as I read that text. My Celebi already loved me!

I raced out of the town and went into the tall grass. I ran into a wild Drowzee.

"Psh, that's easy to beat..." I whispered to myself.

I selected fight and looked at Celebi's moveset. Leaf Storm, Recover, Nasty Plot, and Healing Wish.

I clicked on Leaf Storm. Leaves started swirling onto the screen, and knocked out the Drowzee in one hit. Celebi's Special Attack lowered afterwards. The battle ended.

I opened the menu and looked at Celebi's summary. I clicked on its moves. I then realized that Leaf Storm was the only move that did any damage, and it only had 5 PP. I decided that I wouldn't use Celebi for battle much, but I still wanted to play with it.

I took a moment to think about what I could do with it that didn't involve battling.

Then an idea hit me, "Pokéathlon!" I shouted out loud to myself. I ran to the Pokéathlon Dome and entered the Speed contest.

Celebi, Yam Yams the Yanma, and Dune the Dunsparce practically owned the entire competition.

I entered the contest again. When I next checked the clock I realized I had been playing the game for an hour already. I decided that maybe I should take a break.

Just as I was about to turn off the game though, I received a call from the Daycare Man. He had an egg for me.

I remembered that I had a Ditto and Eevee in the Daycare that I had forgotten about, so I raced back to Goldenrod City and went to the Pokémon Center.

I put all of my party Pokémon in the PC except for Celebi, just in case I wanted to hatch more than one egg.

Once I was done, I went to the Daycare Man. After hurriedly skipping through his lines of text, he handed me my egg.

"Alright, now we just gotta hatch it!" I told my Celebi, despite the fact that I was speaking to an inanimate object. I ran in circles for several minutes, then into Goldenrod, then back out.

I clicked on the egg's summary and sighed. This was going to take a lot longer than I originally thought.

I decided I would randomly battle a Pokémon for the heck of it. I ran into the tall grass and another wild Drowzee appeared.

I clicked on fight. I was about to select Leaf Storm, but I decided I would try out Nasty Plot just for the heck of it. I selected the move.

Puffs of smoke and questions marks appeared around Celebi. Then a hand pointing upwards popped above its head. Its Special Attack rose.

Drowzee tried to use Hypnosis, but it missed.

I selected Nasty Plot again for no reason. The smoke and question marks appeared once more, then the hand. Drowzee used Hypnosis again, but missed.

I used Nasty Plot one more time, just because I could. Same animation as before. Drowzee still attacked and missed.

I used Leaf Storm this time around. The Drowzee fell with no problem. Celebi gained its boosted experience, and the battle ended.

Not thinking anything of the battle, I went straight back to walking around to hatch my egg.

I walked over to the Daycare Man and noticed that he had another egg for me. I talked to him and skipped through his text like usual and received my egg.

As soon as I got my egg, an exclamation point appeared above Celebi's head. It nudged my trainer. She turned around.

My trainer turned south and stared down the route. Celebi slowly inched towards my character, then quickly retreated. Nothing happened for a minute. Then I realized I was in control now.

"Well, that was weird..." I muttered to myself.

I talked to Celebi again.

”CELEBI is a picture of innocence!”

I didn't really understand what that meant.

I opened the menu and clicked on my party. Instead of two eggs like I was expecting, there was only one.

"Where's my other egg..?" I thought.

I exited the menu and talked to the Daycare Man to see if there was some mistake of some kind. He informed me that my Pokémon were doing just fine, and that they didn't seem to like each other. I pouted.

I turned around and talked to Celebi again, to see if maybe it could help me.

”CELEBI is a picture of innocence!” 

That information didn't help me much.

I sighed and gave up. I couldn't think of anything else that could help me get my egg back. I decided I would just run around and try to hatch the one egg I did have.

After a couple of minutes of running in circles I got another call from the Daycare Man. He said he had another egg for me. I was already standing by him, so I walked a few steps and spoke to him. He said the usual, then gave me my egg.

As soon as I received it though, an exclamation point appeared above Celebi's head. It nudged me the same way it did last time. My trainer turned to it, saying that Celebi pointed to something in the distance.

My trainer turned down the path again, and Celebi slowly inched towards her, and then I was in control again.

I immediately went to my party. Again there was only Celebi and one egg.

"What keeps happening to my other egg..?" I asked to myself, which lead to nothing. I exited out of the menu and talked to Celebi.

The same text appeared as before. I scowled, and talked to it again. "CELEBI is a picture of innocence!" Again, "CELEBI is a picture of innocence!" No matter how many times I talked it kept saying the same thing over and over again.

I really didn't know how to react. I was a little creeped out, but not much. I decided it would be best to just shrug it off and keep playing. I started running around a bit more, not really knowing what else to do.

After a single minute I got very bored, and talked to my Celebi again.

”CELEBI is thinking.”

”CELEBI got an idea!”

I waited to see what it would do, but nothing happened.

I checked on my egg to see how close it was to hatching. It was turning out to hatch a lot sooner than I had expected. I exited out of the menu and took a step.

"Oh?" The textbox appeared.

It took me to the scene where my egg hatches. I squealed as I waited for my new baby Eevee to hatch. It cracked, cracked, popped open...

“Nothing hatched from the Egg!”

Nothing was in the egg.

"Hey, what gives?!" I yelled at my DS as the screen started to fade away.

Once it was back at the overworld, I looked at my party. There was only Celebi. I exited and talked to Celebi.

”CELEBI is a picture of innocence!”

I glared at it, wishing that it would fess up and admit it had done something. I kept talking to it over and over, but this time it kept saying the same thing over and over.

I eventually gave up. I ran into Goldenrod and went into the Pokémon Center. I went inside and talked to it one last time.

”Huh? CELEBI is holding something...”

“Would you like to take it?”

I was a bit shocked, and clicked yes.

”Oh! It seems just too important to let go!”

I scowled and went to the PC.

I put Celebi in and replaced it with my female Umbreon, Angel.

I left the Pokémon Center and went to the Pokéathlon Dome. I thought that maybe if I played there for a while and left Celebi alone for a bit, then it might go back to normal. I entered a couple of contests, but failed at most of them. I couldn't focus straight.

After playing for only about thirty minutes, which isn't long for me, I decided I wanted to pick up the rest of my team and proceed with the game's story.

When I went into the PC, I gasped. None of my Pokémon were in there.

Except for Celebi.

I selected Celebi and put it in the first of my party.

I was on the verge of just releasing Celebi, but before I could consider it, I realized that Celebi was holding an item, which it was suspiciously hiding behind its back, no doubt.

"Stake..? What the heck?!"

”Stake can’t be taken away.”

I tried taking it away to investigate, but it didn't work.

I was now completely confused at everything that was going on. I scowled and exited the menu. I talked to Celebi one last time.

”CELEBI is a picture of innocence!” 

I highly doubted that.

I walked out of the Pokéathlon Dome. Not long after I had taken a couple of steps I got a call. It was from Joey. He talked about his top percentage Rattata, as usual.

”CELEBI wants to meet Joey!”

When he was done talking, Celebi nudged my trainer and prompted this text, along with a Yes/No option. I selected no and continued walking. I was still pretty fed up at Celebi having gotten rid of all my Pokémon, and I wasn't about to cater to its requests.

But after a few more steps Celebi nudged my trainer again. I selected no once more, then walked a few more steps.

But I was stopped again. I sighed and selected yes. I didn't really have much left to lose anyways.

My trainer started to spin like when you use an escape rope. She teleported in front of Joey. He started talking to my trainer without me pressing anything. I wasn't given a yes or no option.

Instead Celebi snuck up behind Joey, then quickly flew back to my trainer.

I was then given a yes or no option. I selected yes, thinking it was the best answer.

The battle started. Joey threw out a Pokéball.

“Youngster Joey sent out nothing!”

But instead of his prized Rattata coming out, nothing appeared on the screen.

My trainer threw Celebi out.

Before I could select anything, Joey's sprite moved back onscreen.

“My RATTATA! Where is it?!”

The battle then slowly faded to black.

Once it got back to the overworld, Joey spoke.

“My RATTATA... It’s gone...!!”

Joey's sprite started moving around, as if he was searching for his lost Pokémon. I immediately turned to Celebi.

”CELEBI is a picture of innocence!”

I was getting really annoyed at this Celebi, even more than I already was.

Celebi suddenly flew away from my trainer. I was wondering what it ran away for.

That was when I noticed the POKÉDEX, trainer card, BAG, and POKÉGEAR options in the menu were missing.

I growled out loud and started to chase after Celebi. It was waiting for me just off screen. As soon as it saw me though, it started to fly away. I chased it in circles for several minutes, but it was always much faster than my trainer.

I eventually just stopped.

After a few moments, Celebi floated back over to my trainer. I talked to it again, but the only thing I got out of it was the urge to strangle that legendary so badly right then.

I opened the menu and looked at my party. Angel was missing.

"Alright, that's the last straw..!!" I gripped my DS so tight I nearly broke it in two. I exited out of the menu and thought about what to do for a moment. That was when one of the biggest light bulbs ever went off in my head.

I turned my DS off.

I hadn't saved the game since I had received Celebi from the delivery man, which I was very thankful for now. I sighed in relief, thankful for it all to be over.

I turned my DS back on. When I got to the menu, I selected "Continue".

When it had finished loading though, my trainer was standing in the middle of virtually nothing. Everything was black.

Before I could react properly, Celebi floated up to my trainer.

I talked to it, prompting its now signature catchphrase. A heart icon appeared above its head.

Then it quickly floated away, and my game froze. I tried moving, pressing every button, but nothing would work. I turned my DS off, hoping that my save file would work this time around. When the title screen loaded back up, I pressed start.

”The save file will be erased due to corruption or damage.”

I threw my DS to the side and screamed into my pillow. I wildly thrashed my arms and legs about like a possessed child.

Once I had finished letting my anger out, and my throat had become sore from too much screaming, I sat up. Tears began streaming down my face. I sat there and cried my heart out.

After several minutes, I had stopped crying. Although still sniffling, I grabbed my DS. I went back to the menu and selected, "New Game".

When it loaded, I was shocked to see that I was in Goldenrod City, with Angel right behind me.

As soon as I took one step, I got a call from the Daycare Man. He said he had an egg for me.

I ran to the Daycare. I talked to the Daycare Man, slowly going through his text this time, and I received my egg. Afterwards, I opened my party to look at my egg, just to make sure it was still there.

When I opened my party, I breathed a sigh of relief. My game was back to normal, and I could finally hatch my long-awaited Eevee.

Maybe it's just because I had gone through so much emotional torture just to obtain it, but I had a really good feeling about this egg.

Whatever this Eevee was when it hatched, I vowed to cherish it.

After running around for several minutes, my eyes sparkled with hope as it prepared to hatch.

But I was met with a horrifying wake up call...

“CELEBI hatched from the Egg!”

"No... Nooo!!!"

I scowled to see that familiar face next to me in the overworld. I checked my party, and Angel was gone yet again.

I spoke to the little devil just to see what it had to say for itself, and it replied with one simple thing...

“CELEBI is a picture of innocence!”

Overview

Part 1: The Isle of Armor

Theme: Growth

Release Date: June 2020

The next destination in your adventure is a giant island off the shores of the Galar reegion known as the Isle of Armor. This island is full of beautiful natures. You’ll find beaches, bogs, forests, caves, and dunes. And of course, you’ll find Pokemon that you couldn’t previously find in Galar dwelling there, too.

There’s a dojo for Pokemon battles on this island. And you’ll take up an apprenticeship under the Pokemon trainer who runs it. Mustard will become your mentor. He is also the mentor of champion Leon, who you probably know quite well. In fact, Mustard has occupied the seat of champion himself in the past.

You’ll also encounter new rivals among your fellow apprentice. When playing with the Pokemon Sword Expansion Pass, you’ll be training with Klara, who is a Poison-type user. When playing with the Pokemon Shield Expansion Pass, you’ll be training with Avery, who is a Psychic-type user. They’re both training hard so they can someday have a gym and stadium to call their home.

Next, we’d like to introduce the legendary Pokemon that will be central to the story. Kubfu is a Fighting-type Pokemon that strives to become stronger with single-minded dedication. As you progress through your training, Mustard will entrust you with this Pokemon. Once you complete your training together with Kubfu, it will be able to evolve into Urshifu.

Urshifu is a Pokemon with two distinct styles. There is Single-Strike style, a Fighting- and Dark-type style that delivers a single strike at blinding speed. There’s also Rapid-Strike Style, a Fighting- and Water-type style that focuses on unleashing a torrent of rapid strikes.

What’s more, it’s been revealed that Urshifu has a Gigantamax form. Each style has a different appearance, as well as a different G-Max move. You’ll be able to evolve your Kubfu into an Urshifu in one of these two styles, Single-Strike Style or Rapid-Strike Style, during your adventure.

Urshifu is a powerful Pokemon with a brand-new ability. And it also has a new move for each of its new styles. Once you’ve completed your training, bring it with you for some online battles or official competitions.

We also want to talk about Rillaboom, Cinderace, and Inteleon, the final evolutions of the first three Pokemon you team up with in the Gallar region. During your adventure in the Isle of Armor, these special partners on your team will be able to Gigantamax. You can look forward to seeing their new forms and new G-Max moves.

And as you can see here, there is even more in the works to make sure your journey is as smooth and fun as possible:

Tutor Moves – Including all-new moves.

Apricorns – Can be made into Poke Balls.

Exp. Charm – Earn more Exp. Points for your team.

There are new fashion items, and you’ll even be able to obtain new looks for your bike.

Part 2: The Crown Tundra

Theme: Exploration

Release Date: Fall 2020

This expansion is set in the snow-swept realm of The Crown Tundra. Take a look for yourself at the beautiful scenery of this shining, silvery landscape.

As it turns out, the Isle of Armor isn’t the only uncharted area waiting for you all in the Galar region. In this frigid area, with its towering winter mountains, people live in small communities that support and rely on each other.

Much like on The Isle of Armor, you’ll be able to find Pokemon that didn’t appear in the Galar region before. Fitting right in with this area’s theme of exploration, there will be plenty for you to uncover. You might find a strange temple where you least expect it, or maybe spy a mysterious giant tree growing in a place it doesn’t seem to belong.

A certain person will appoint you as the leader of their exploration team in The Crown Tundra. You can gear up for adventure and then head out to explore blizzard-swept fields, and even deep inside Pokemon dens that you could only previously get a glimpse of during Max Raid battles.

Next, we’d like to introduce Calyrex, the legendary Pokemon you’ll discover during your adventure. Legends say this Psychi- and Grass-type Pokemon once ruled over a part of Galar that included The Crown Tundra. It’s characterized by its graceful, regal movements. Get ready to experience a never-before-told story about the mysteries of Calyrex.

The Crown Tundra will have a new form of co-op play as well. This will allow you and friends to enter and explore Pokemon Dens that exist underground in The Crown Tundra. Deep inside the dens, you may see legendary Pokemon from past games Dynamaxing before your eyes. You’ll be able to meet and make allies with all kinds of legendary Pokemon during your adventures in The Crown Tundra, including ones you’ll be able to catch through this co-op play.

It also appears that some brand-new legendary Pokemon are also waiting to be found somewhere in this land. And combined with The Isle of Armor, dozens of new clothing items will be added. Plus there will be new battles waiting for you to challenge once you complete your entire game, including The Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra.

We can’t go into the details of everything, but we’re working on planning and developing new ways to enjoy Pokemon even as we speak. The Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra areas themselves are actually two key examples of the things we’re working on. Both areas are in fact seamless maps much like the Wild Area you can already experience in the Galar region, where players can move around freely and control the camera. Of course, you’ll be able to connect with other trainers and play with them, too. There will be Pokemon Dens as well, and you’ll be able to engage in Max Raid battles against Pokemon that haven’t previously appeared in the Galar region. There’s more to see and do in The Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra than there was even in the Wild Area.

Future Free Updates

We’ll be releasing free updates for Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield that will coincide with the releases of The Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra. These updates will allow people who don’t have the Pokemon Sword Expansion Pass and Pokemon Shield Expansion Pass to obtain the Pokemon that appear on The Isle of Armor and in The Crown Tundra through other means such as trading.

Players will also be able to bring over Pokemon from the game into the cloud service Pokemon Home as long as the Pokemon appear in the Pokemon Sword Expansion Pass and Pokemon Shield Expansion Pass.

Today’s Free Update

There will be a software update going live available later today. Once you’ve received the update, head to Wedgehurst Station. In Pokemon Sword, you’ll run into Klara, while in Pokemon Shield, you’ll run into Avery. You’ll also encounter a Galarian Slowpoke that’s wandered in from The Isle of Armor. You can try to catch it and add it to your team. Galarian Slowpoke and evolve into Galarian Slowbro if you use an item that can be found on The Isle of Armor, or into Galarian Slowking if you use an item that can be found in The Crown Tundra.

Special Purchase Bonus

If you purchase the Expansion Pass, you’ll be able to receive a Pikachu Uniform and an Eevee Uniform as a special purchase bonus. You’ll be able to wear these outfits in the expansions, of course, but also in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield! Until The Isle of Armor’s release, it might not be a bad idea to complete your adventures in the Galar region decked out in your new outfit!

Welcome to the Beginning

This is the start of a passion project of mine. Myself and some close friends are early in the stages of a Dungeons and Dragons Campaign set in a universe inhabited by pokemon, rather than the typical high fantasy creatures.

To give some background, our group played some D&D set in the wonderful universe of The Adventure Zone with yours truly as Dungeon Master. Eventually this endeavor became too ambitious for myself as our party was much larger and I was new to DMing. At this stage I requested that we begin something new, as most of us were fans of pokemon, I suggested this as our backdrop.

At this stage I was still acting as Dungeon master and my party was comprised of:

Kimura - A protective monk Ralts with the ambitions to become a knight.

Sister Joy - A motherly cleric Audino who had never known life outside the cathedral.

Eric Withakay - A lonesome druid Eevee simply wandering from place to place.

Prie - An orphan sorceress Togepi living in the care of the church.

Kyndred - A valiant fighter Cubone living his young life as a hero and protector to the people.

Lucky Duck - A hermit artificer Psyduck living with his strange contraptions in his quiet home.

I began the adventure with a mystery, the party had been accused of the murder of Dr. Theodore Mime, and they were provided the opportunity to clear their names. After tracking down every lead, the party learned that the Doctor had been working in their small town as a member of a cult, giving to a goddess in return for improvements to the town. The doctor had become ambitious and took to using a gem with strange energy to call upon her powers sucking the lifeforce from children in return for the power he needed. During the battle with our Doctor, Theodore sucked his own life away bringing the goddess Magearna to life. Upon their clash, the party defeated the goddess with all that remained the gemstone.

At this point the party had cleared their names, with the offering of recruitment into the knight’s guild looking into matters regarding the unexplained.

In their travels, they briefly crossed paths with the god Hoopa and his deadly games, as well as a cult of the moon, racist guardians of the forest, and an underground slave colony.

With this our hermit Lucky had made quite a name for himself with tales of his deeds spreading to every corner of the world, the people dubbing him the Mighty Duck.

Sister Joy turned her back on the church in light of a diety attacking innocent children, focusing on the teachings of her diety Xerneas, the god of life, by protecting the helpless.

Kimura overjoyed with his new position, found a young romance in a Kirlia by the name of Alice as well as the pressure by his new mentor the Captain of the Knights to keep his party in check.

Eric Withakay had grown upon the defeat of Magearna, evolving into a Leafeon. And continued his laidback nature of smoking weed and helping where he could.

Prie as timid as ever remained quiet, briefly ensnared by the politics of a strange superstition of the powers that togepi’s have. Plagued by a disease that caused her long hours of sleep.

Kyndred found a friend in a young Mareep going by Elise, Elise had stowed away following them to adventure but Kyndred swears to protect her.

At this stage the party was asked to investigate a strange castle appearing the desert to the north. Armed with little knowledge, the crew headed to Spruce Valley.

In Spruce Valley, the party found that almost the entirety of the village was comprised of fire breathers (fire types) who had been shunned by society for their ill-fated destructive nature. The elder pointed them north instructing them that the young knight of the village Magnus had ventured to find out more about the castle they had been asked to seek. Venturing into the dunes the party found a strange forest and at the heart of it, a castle constructed entirely of ice. They fought strange green skinned creatures and encountered a mutated Kingdra, searching for a safe way into the castle magically filled with water. Finding a garden, the party was sealed inside the enclosure, with the only way forward seeming to be a rear door leading into the castle. Unfortunately it was at this time that dozens of Kinglers poured out of the kitchen inciting a battle.

This is the point of the story where some members of the party had raised some concerns about my Dungeon Master skills. With this, I asked the player for Kimura to take over as acting Dungeon Master as his player was not enjoying themselves to the fullest.

And thus, Captain Fletch was born, a swashbuckling pirate Riolu bent on joining the Mighty Duck’s Crew and slaying gods with him. This is where I will pick up with the logs of his adventures with his new and somewhat unwilling crew.
