Dog Meshi.
#dungeon meshi#falin touden#marcille donato#laios touden#The foreshadowing of the laios's barking is so funny. It isn't even just Marcille's flashback. It's everywhere.#It's the love of dogs. How he intimidates the basilisk. General fascination with creatures and their behaviours.#This is a man who is would not be a furry per say but would own a fursuit for the fascination of the craft.#Laios is the guy in the forums rating people's hybrid fursonas for nothing but the love of creatures.#Dog Laios would use his powers to go into dog-free restaurants.#That human impression is so good. One might say 'Woah who's that confident hairy guy? Alright boss; in you go.'#He would be the no.1 customer of a New York Deli that has no legal business license but makes the best sandwiches in the city.#“Would Senshi run it?” I think he would also be a dog in this theoretical AU. Which...makes the scene even funnier actually.#A comic in which everyone is dogs was never something I thought I'd make but here we are!#Marcille is a borzoi (elf of dogs). Tolden siblings are golden lab-retrievers.#Senshi is a scottish terrier. Chilchuck is harder; I need to think on that one. Another terrier perhaps.#Happy Thistle Thursday once again. I hope this comic makes someone laugh half as much as I did while drawing it.

Baldurs Gate 3 is so wild when you realise how vastly different the game is depending on if you choose Tav or Dark Urge
Dark Urge Playthrough: you’re the child of Bhaal, but unlike the Bhaalspawn, you are created solely by Bhaal himself. The first true child of Bhaal. The daughter of one of your father’s previous Bhaalspawn turns on you, attacks you and tries to kill you. In your dying state, she infects you with a parasite so that you’ll die an incredibly humiliating death, and become her slave.
By some miracle you end up on the same nautiloud ship as a Sharron Cleric who happens to to be carrying a gith artefact that contains Baldur himself. Baldur, who was made a mind flayer and is now calling himself the Emperor, realises there’s an incredibly powerful Bhaalspawn on the ship, and that he can use them to his advantage. The power you have will help him destroy Gortash. Of course he picks you, it makes so much sense.
On your way to Baldurs Gate you find out through an unsent letter that you used to be into Gortash. When you get to Baldurs Gate, the man you used to fuck turns out to be an absolute loser and with horror you realise he is still into you. It’s okay though, he’s very easy to kill.
You end up facing off against Orin, your niece, and kill her. Your father appears to you and offers you the chance to become his Slayer. On the high chance you turn him down, he murders you in front of your loved ones, and leaves you to rot.
Then Jergal, the actual Lord of the End of Everything, the original God of Death, who was the very being that turned you father into a God all that time ago, who’s been in your camp for weeks pretending to be this undead scribe called Withers, appears next to your corpse and brings you back to life, basically adopts you, states that he will protect you from Bhaal, and announces that as long as he lives, you will never die. You’re essentially immortal.
Tav Playthrough: you’re a random nobody that was unlucky enough to get kidnapped by Mind Flayers. The Emperor must pick one of the many idiots on the ship to be his pawn. He sees Tav and thinks “ugh, yeah this one will do”.
#I know there’s more to it but this is the general skeleton of it#Baldurs Gate#Baldurs Gate 3#bg3#bg3 spoilers#Baldurs Gate 3 spoilers#bg3 Tav#bg3 Durge#bg3 Dark Urge#Bhaal#bhaalspawn#dnd#dungeons and dragons#larian#larian studios#dark urge#tav#bg3 Orin#bg3 withers#jergal#withers is jergal

was talking with a friend about how some of dunmeshi fаndom misunderstands kabru's initial feelings towards laios.
to sum up kabru's situation via a self-contained modernized metaphor:
kabru is like a guy who lost his entire family in a highly traumatic car accident. years later he joins a discord server and takes note of laios, another server member who seems interesting, so they start chatting. then laios reveals his special interest and favorite movie of all time is David Cronenberg's Crash (1996), and invites kabru to go watch a demolition derby with him
#dungeon meshi#delicious in dungeon#kabru#kabru already added laios as a discord friend. everyone else in the server can see laios excitedly asking kabru to go with him#what would You even Do in this situation. how would YOU feel?#basically: kabru isnt a laios-hater! hes just in shock bc Thats His Trauma. the key part is kabru still says yes#bc he wants to get to know laios. to understand why laios would be so fascinated by something horrific to him#and ALSO bc even while in shock kabru can still tell laios has unique expertise + knowledge that Could be used for Good#even if kabru doesnt fully trust laios yet (bc kabru just started talking to the guy 2 hours ago. they barely know each other)#kabru also understands that getting to know ppl (esp laios) means having to get to know their passions. even if it triggers his trauma here#but thats too much to fit in this metaphor/analogy. this is NOT an AU! its not supposed to cover everything abt kabru or laios' character!#its a self-contained metaphor written Specifically to be more easily relatable+thus easy to understand for general ppl online#(ie. assumed discord users. hence why i said (a non-specific) 'discord server' and not something specific like 'car repair subreddit')#its for ppl who mightve not fully grasped kabru's character+intentions and think hes being mean/'chaotic'/murderous.#to place ppl in kabru's shoes in an emotionally similar situation thats more possible/grounded in irl experiences and contexts.#and also for the movie punchline#mynn.txt#dm text#crossposting my tweets onto here since my friends suggested so

My game is technically two parts. A non-dungeon exploration to unlock areas with their own dungeons, and then dungeon exploration which you have to subjugate for the main quest. JRPG mixed with a Roguelite.
https://ivory-immersions.itch.io/sample-game
This eventing took me maybe 5 hours but it's a semi-randomized dungeon in RPG maker MZ. Right now I only have dungeon generation but not the rest of the systems.
For those who are curious, each floor tile is an event set up to show a certain tile I added to a sprite sheet with certain numbers. Monsters are set to number 11, but have their own script that runs after pathways. There's 4 path events to determine what's open and 3 run from bottom of the screen, middle, then top, with the in between lines being based on the current and prior paths. After the 3 run a fourth one runs to make sure you can access the exit and reruns the first three for more than just a straight line of pathing.
Next step is changing what generates based on what room type you're in - Rest, Shop, Enemy (the one I'm showing), and the surprise type will just pick one of these three at random. Rest of course gives you an area to heal up in, and might get combined with merchant - IE, you can either buy dungeon potions or get some sleep, the merchant will leave at the end either way. And then I need to set up boss calculations so I know when to throw a miniboss or full boss into the mix.
I also need to set up the reward system, which are primarily 'temporary' things. Essentially, you get Dungeon Coin, Dungeon Item, or Dungeon Buff. But, however many floors you get through before 'game over' determines your Permanent Reward. Beating all floors of a dungeon gives you a bigger permanent reward the first time instead of the usual x floors one.
Finally, instead of immediate Game Over, I'm setting up a common event that will display an image of 3 hearts, how many game overs determines if the hearts are whole or hollow.

I guess Chilchuck has brought us right back to 'adults who are short are child-coded and if you like them you're a pedophile' discourse huh
#spitblaze says things#anyway.#1) please google 'halfling'#2) THERE ARE ADULTS WHO ARE VERY SHORT. DID YOU KNOW THAT. WERE YOU AWARE#3) THERE ARE ALSO ADULTS WHO HAVE CHILDLIKE FACES. DID YOU KNOW *THAT*#4) IF YOU THINK THE ONLY REASON A MAN COULD LOOK LIKE THAT IS BECAUSE THEY ARE TRANS MEN IM GOING TO KILL YOU#5) jesus christ will you just read/watch dungeon meshi and understand that the entire conceit of his character and of half-foots in general#is that its fucked up to treat people as children or subhuman because they do not 'look' like what you expect a cisgender adult to look lik#anyway if i see one more person call Chilchuck 'has gray streaks and an ex wife and three adult daughters' Tims a sh*ta#im gonna start smashing things#doin numbers

I like to imagine Marcille deals with her grief of outliving Falin (her wife) and Laois (her platonic soulmate) by looking for new friends that are just as weird/obsessive as the Touden siblings. Through this process of finding generations of weirdos she starts to notice genetic patterns and similarities to the point that she "discovers" autism. She names it Touden syndrome though.

dad issues
+

(I think they were all fundamentally affected by what they saw and just collectively decided not to share the upsetting details)
#dungeon meshi#aj art#chilchuck#chilchuck backstory stuff#sorta#comic#tw alchoholism#tw death#tw parent death#dont generally tag for death stuff but in this he straight up dies on screen so I thought I should#Uhh I think they all had extremely grim visions bc I think that’s sort of the nature of ghost attacks#I mean Laios’ was basically just him being like “I should’ve died no one would care if i died”#I think Marcille’s would be. Horrifying. Given all her baggage around death.#Tho iirc this would be before Falin’s backfired resurrection#But anyway the mentioning of his father got me thinking#Since at least judging by Laios’ vision#They focus on people who’s death you have baggage around#Especially since Falin wasn’t ever like. Dead dead.#And Chilchuck does mention his father multiple times#Specifically he mentions his death and how he died#Like it seems like that specifically is a notable memory for him#Like you never see him like “my dad taught me to do this”#It seems like he remembers his dad *for* his death#So I anyway I made an extremely grim comic about it#beabell

anyway dai solas you will always be famous to me. nothing but respect for my boy who wandered off mid-cutscene in the hinterlands to go help out refugees, is extremely good at Lies Of Omission™️, has a whole spy/agent/informant network of elves who followed him, fervently argues that it's unethical to be happy about killing bandits bc they had lives and loved ones, describes his own temple(?) prison(?) as having "indecipherable" elven writing, has ferocious debates with dorian and iron bull about slavery, set himself on fire once by mistake, and within about a year of his 10000 year lifespan, went from seeing all the world as disposable emotionless husks, to developing actual friendships and even falling in love.
and then! still thought it was necessary to destroy and reset the world! but he would treasure the chance to be wrong again!!
#dragon age#solas#veilguard critical#txt#look. if you set up ''this character is extremely smart and generally cares about people''#and then add ''they're doing something completely unhinged and destructive sounding''#then the conclusion should not be ''wow this dumbass is just doing it to ~drown the world in demons 🙄~“#there needs to be an actually satisfying back and forth even IF the conclusion is that the veil stays up#personally i think. elf immortality is overrated and mortality SHOULD be part of thedas bc it is not actually silmarillioncore#but man. maybe just turn the veil down to like 30% opacity like it is for the avvar. they're chilling.#defibrillate the titans a bit (gently) and then it's fine. just a fun high fantasy setting#anyway it becomes like the anders effect where the like#7 years of unpaid frontline healthcare get Utterly Outweighed by one kind of inevitable act of violence#imo an underrated part of solas' character is that he presumably passed out at the worst possible blight-riddled tyranny era of arlathan#and then woke back up to a blight-riddled and tyrannical future#but he missed both the several hundred years before tevinter attacked arlathan#and the dales#and the early chantry which seemed significantly cooler than the later chantry#i got lost in my tag essay but i think solas' most evil crime was mistranslating all those inscriptions#academic malpractice. get his ass. 1000 years dungeon until he does it properly

you know what i think is really cool about dungeon meshi? the fact that it really handles the whole 'how our food is made' so gracefully. in this day and age, we've become so disconnected from how our food is produced and distributed that the thought of how our food is obtained brings disgust to many people (and for the big industry farms, it honestly should! but im referring to our existence as omnivores in the food chain). marcille acted ridiculous whenever the thought of killing a monster for food is brought up, but honestly, she's a great model for how many people nowadays react whenever they have to truly think about what they are consuming/are brought to a meat farm.
senshi shows the characters (and us, the audience) about the process of making food in a respectful, genuine way to the creatures he has used to produce nourishing meals. by explaining the nutrition and benefits of each creature, he creates and healthy relationship between the consumers and the meal they have. the show really brings a new dimension of respect for each of our meals. truly the bob ross/marie kondo of cooking.
#dungeon meshi#senshi#marcille donato#laois touden#marie kondo would be so proud theyd get along great tbh#text post#my posts#god i hope i articulated this well im tired but i know what im trying to say#like people who eat meat but won't eat meat with bones because then they think of it as an animal: this is directed at you#it was always an animal and its honestly more disrespectful to ignore it#this is also not anti-vegetarian this is more just a general observation of our society as a whole#delicious in dungeon

hadn't seen anyone post the full comic about laios + falin's family on tumblr yet so. here you go source is from the reddit
#in general i haven't seen as many translations of the new content get posted here which is like fine#but it was annoying me that the pages shared here and on twitter were missing sections. lore is serious business#the less lore the average tumblr user knows about the more nonsensical takes i'm forced to read. so im taking direct action#this is the last time im posting manga pages here i don't want to become a manga pages blog#beepbeep.txt#dungeon meshi#dungeon meshi spoilers

You keep telling yourself that Namari.
#dungeon meshi#Namari#Kiki Tansu#kikimari#lets fill that tag!#Originally I wanted to just draw the twins in their gnome outfits.#But then I spent 2 hours listening to Mika's Big Girl and I was like “You're so right singer-songwriter Mika. I have to draw Namari”#Anyways I've been practicing with diversifying body shapes as part of my art studies and I really enjoy it!!!#I can't wait until Tade shows up so I can draw more big girls.#By the way - since a lot of people have recently gotten into Dungeon Meshi and finished the manga#Please let me bring your attention to the Adventurers Bible! It's filled with so many extra character focused comics and lore!#We love canon bisexual Namari and the situationship she has with Kiki.#The manga itself doesn't really touch on romance in general but behind the scenes there is yearning. And leg pouches.

@heropartnerweek 2025 day 4 - beach at dusk
#i had a lot of fun with the colors with this one. it was a challenge sticking to the pink/blue palette#especially since i wanted the colors to be distinguishable without them muddling or desaturating them#this isnt connected to coding them as trans its more of a happy coincidence. on the other hand i dont have any#ideas for their genders or sexualities in general. if anything i consider them unlabelled by choice#i havent played the other pmd games either so i stuck with what i know- i didnt really know what to draw for this prompt#heropartnerweek#heropartnerweek2025#pokemon mystery dungeon#pmd#pokemon#team satellite#my oc#oc#myart#my art

cant stop thinking about the guy who came up to me at the comic festival this weekend, looked through my dungeon meshi stuff, then when he didnt recognize the winged lion told me he stopped reading because the world building wasn't solid enough.
The world building wasn't solid enough. In dungeon meshi.
#i get that before the winged lion is introduced its not actually that lore heavy but. Then maybe dont say the world building is bad#when you today can see that you didnt read halfway through#the comic that has since become known to have some of the most nuanced and solid world building of its time#then he tried to give me the wikipedia of a swedish like culture preserver#not knowing i worked as a guide in an out door museum for swedish culture in the 1800s#and that i am incredibly nerdy about folklore and most of the time know not only the general idea#but has looked through first hand recounts preserved in a national archive marked with who when and where#anyway dungeon meshi too thin worldbuilding take is INSANE#also dont go up to someone who is clearly a fan and start dissing on the thing#1. its rude and 2. literally what are you expecting??? They WILL not agree????#antrant#this goes on main
