Been sick for the last week or so, so BG3 has consumed my life while I recover from a cold. Decided on a whim to learn how to make my own tattoo mods, and made one for my main oc; Aster.

1st off we have my lovely Ma'na!

Her 1st incarnation was for a fic I wrote where she marries rolan after he failed his first serious romance attempt.

She's one of 20 siblings, and used to work in the mines where she grew up with her rather militaristic mother and old fuddy duddy of a dad.

Lately however she's fallen in love with someone new! Rackal! He's a darling and he belongs to @barbwillbrb

Next up is sybyll!

Who was also made for rolan and wound up falling in love with mortimer who also belongs to @barbwillbrb

He's one of 4 children and is an artificer/treasure hunter he's quite intelligent but has low strength and is only moderately charismatic.

Sybylls brother Lennox!

An older man turned werewolf. As a werewolf he is rather unique in that it isn't the moon that makes him transform its his fight or flight and extreme emotions. He has an anc6harness that sybyll got him to prevent those transformations.

He's married to hubie! A saytr who also belongs to guess who @barbwillbrb and has two hybrid children with his wonderful wifey

Next up is Irma! Sybylls oldest sister

She's a rogue of extreme skill and precision shes also extremely dedicated to her brother. Irma is also skilled with subterfuge and sabotage . She's tall for a woman but not terribly so. Irma is strong but not overtly so, she's no tank.

Next up is aster!

The younger sister, she's irmas other half. While Irma is in her nature firm and unyielding aster is quite playful. Her curious nature and charm can be disarming. She's just as dangerous if not more than her sister

One of the new additions I have is rue! My durge, I haven't finished his playthtough so he's still developing. But he's a goofy silly little guy so far. He's playful and very inquisitive even if he doesn't talk too much

The very newest on the roster is wyrm!

PLEASE EXCUSE ME, I NEED TO RAMBLE ABOUT THIS.

I had a very funny hc about my Durge that I would like to share. But first, the context and lead up to it!

So I will premise this by saying I haven't actually gotten to these parts, I've just seen spoilers. But I wanna talk about the Orin-Durge duel and the aftermath in terms of how I'm playing my character.

So my Durge is for the most part resisting his Urge and becoming a relatively good person (he has his moments tho). Getting all the respect from his companions, standing up for them, and being hella protective of them. Sleeping with a few of them... My boy's low-key a slut.

So I was thinking about how instead of Orin kidnapping 1 of the companions, she somehow kidnaps them all? That would send my Durge, Aster on the war path, especially when she also attacks Gortash and tasks him with sending a message to Aster.

Once Aster gets to the temple and learns what Orin did to him, oh my boy straight up snaps. He spent all this time resisting but in this moment, his fury allows his murderous nature take over. He gives into his Urge and relapses into the person he was before the Nautiloid. It doesn't take long for him to fully overpower Orin. Right before he delivers the final, killing blow, he taunts her by saying she will never be worthy of Bhaal, and that His chosen will always be him (Durge/Aster).

At this point, Aster is completely drunk on murder and his victory. He has truly reverted back to his old self, and right as he's going through a crazed declaration of being Bhaal's Chosen, he stops short (and with a pitched moan) once he feels a sharp pain in his neck.

Astarion bites him and it completely breaks him out of his manic moment. It takes him a moment to process what just happened and Astarion is just like, I couldn't think of anything else to do in the moment. But by that time, Murder-boy is gone and Sass-Master has returned.

Everyone is both relieved and very scared. But they are confident enough that Aster's back to being himself that Shadowheart is now teasing Aster that even though he's some big bad murdery chosen one, nothing will save him from being a bottom that moans at Astarion biting him.

Tl:Dr: My Durge twink is such a bottom for Astarion, that being bit breaks him out of a murderous rage.

Azrael (Tav): So... You romanced Astarion as well?

Aster (Durge): *nods* Yeah. Kind of hard not to, really.

Azrael: Completely understandable. What about you?

Tyrnuil (Tav): Well, see... I've always had a soft spot for heroes. I'm a bard, after all - dreaming about heroes kind of comes with the job!

Azrael: It's Wyll, isn't it?

Aster: *nods silently in support*

Tyrnuil, smiling: Yeah, it's Wyll. Of course it's Wyll.

Tyrnuil, turning towards Arynn: What about you, though? You're new, right?

Arynn (Durge): Well... I am not sure. But the way things are going, it's either going to be Gale or Astarion.

Azrael: *sighs* It's always those two.

Tyrnuil: W-

*sudden, loud distant bang*

Azrael, Tyrnuil and Aster: *look at each other*

Azrael, Tyrnuil and Aster, simultaneously: Gale.

Arynn, confused: What?

Azrael: That's the sound of someone who romanced Gale. 100%.

Alnair (Tav), coming in covered in soot: Hi, sorry I'm late. I uh.... Got... Distracted. Anyway, what are we talking about?

Tyrnuil: We're talking about our love interests. Yours is Gale, right?

Alnair: Yes, how did you-

Tyrnuil: Yep. Knew it.

Azrael, gesturing: See?

Aster: *nods silently again*

Arynn, a necromancer who may not be able to remember everything, but who is almost certain he ran numerous experiments on corpses: Ah... I... See.

they didn't like each other much at first in my run so i imagine that'd remain the same even though the circumstances wouldn't be as dire LOL

hi Aster! as much as i enjoy the current dynamic with Tyrus (sweet and perfect in every way tbh) i would very much like if you'd ever explored the opposite. someone not so nice and young but older, meaner, more broken. where Tyrus and Star are perfect people for each other in very unfortunate circumstances, it's interesting to see him with a decidedly imperfect person.

Astarion's dynamic with the Durge is so compelling in this way. for once he is the responsible one (oh the horror) and has someone who is far more fucked up than him (driven half mad by the lobotomy and daddy dearest influence). wonder how their relationship would play out under your writing. who knows, maybe you'll cook up an OC for this, after you finish Perfect Slaughter.

anyway sorry for my rumblings, the main message is that i enjoy your writing tremendously and love for you to explore every facet of our fav disaster elf.

I also love Durgestarion, it's one of my favorite ships because it really shows the more caring side of Astarion. In fact, Tyrus in PS is inspired by my much darker, more world-weary OC Tyrus in my first Durge playthrough! In that version of him, his father rescued him as a baby from being sacrificed after he was identified as a bhaalspawn in Menzoberranzan! He still grew up in Reithwin, but the Shadow Curse wiped out his whole family while he was studying in Baldur's Gate. In his grief and rage, his urges that had been mostly suppressed till then took over and for the next hundred years his mind basically wasn't his own (cue all the Dark Urge lore). I have a few off-screen scenes between him and Astarion that I've cooked up/partially written and may one day post at some point!

Otherwise, I may leave Astarion alone for a bit after this. The other ships I could potentially write for are Shadowheart/Laezel and Shadowheart/fem!OC (my beautiful tav, Savvy), depending on where my heart takes me next! I'm about to do a Karlach romance playthrough too, so maybe I'll get inspired for her as well.

This is all conjecture of course! I'm all for inspiration suddenly striking, no matter for who 😉for now the focus is on the beast of a fic that is Perfect Slaughter of course, haha!

At the moment I only have one Tav (and one Durge).. but I'll gladly tell you about her!

Aster is an halfling bard. Born and raised in a small isolated village that doesn't accept outsiders. She always wanted to see the world, but her community was strictly against it. That's why she mostly used to make friends with animals rather than other halflings.

One day she decides to leave for good and to bring her music (she plays the lute) around the world. She ends up in Baldurs'Gate where she gets approached by a group of criminals who's boss, thinking that she might be very useful as a distraction for their crimes, decides to recruit her. She would have had to play and distract the victims, while the others would empty their pockets. Aster being very lonely decides to accepted the job.

Years go by and Aster feels like she has found a family with this group of criminals, till the day their boss betrays her. One thing lead to another, she ends up killing some important dude end ends up in prison. That's where she meets Zorba, a rogue tiefling, that will help her escape and that will then become her new partner in crime.

The two gets separated when Aster gets abducted by the mind flayers.. You know how the rest of the story goes.

At the moment Aster is happy to say that she has a new found family with all of her companions, and she's proud of every one of them. She's particularly close to Karlach and Gale.. and she's looking to find a cure for vampirism so that her boyfriend can finally enjoy the sun once more.

About her personality... Aster has a good heart and she likes to help people, but she also enjoys a bit of chaos. She can be blunt at times (She loved making fun of Raphael in particular).
