I think I’ve said this before but when Steve did the flip down the sheet rope into the upside down it gave me gymnast vibes. I genuinely like the idea of Steve hiding the fact that one of his talents is doing all kinds of tricks that involve flipping. Maybe one semester he wanted to be a male cheerleader, his backflips were always clean and precise. I think early on in Steve and Eddie’s relationship Eddie finds out that Steve is actually an amazing gymnast. For some of his gigs Corroded Coffin will have a moment we’re there’s a guitar solo and during it Steve is doing all kinds of tricks. That’s how the party finds out that Steve has a talent and they want to know why they were the last to find out about it.

PSA for non-metal fans:

1. Most of the bands Eddie canonically likes are considered Thrash or Speed Metal, or New Wave of British Heavy Metal, which was a major influence of Thrash and Speed Metal. Bands like Motley Crue, Guns and Roses, Def Leppard and Van Halen on the other hand are glam metal bands, which is generally known to be more “pop-y”/have more mainstream appeal than the extreme metal subgenres like the ones Eddie’s into. Not saying he wouldn’t listen to them at all but those bands are probably a bit tame for his taste.

2. Punk and Metal are two distinct genres of rock. There’s some similarities but they are on a whole different, and have different subcultures surrounding them. Again, not saying Eddie would dislike punk bands, but they wouldn’t be what he was primarily listening to.

3. It’s not uncommon for metalheads to incorporate bandanas into their outfits. The black skull bandana in Eddie’s pocket isn’t hanky code, it’s just how a heavy metal fan from the mid-80s would dress. (Same thing with the handcuffs in his room. Plenty of people have used handcuffs as belts before)

4. Heavy metal is still a thing today. There’s plenty of modern metal bands, and even some of the bands Eddie would’ve been listening to in the 80s still make music and tour. So yes, a modern version of Eddie would probably still be a metalhead.

✁ like you can’t convince after a shift they’re full of random ass words that make zero sense but Eddie knows - “3pm” “4.6mm” “right g.dept miss hardgrove”

✁ his hands!!!! Bros gloves are suggestions -> defo works with someone that knows Wayne and dudes just like “Don’t think your Uncle is gonna appreciate me sending his boy home with a burnt hand?” n Eddie just laughs n shrugs... and continues soldering without gloves

✁ when he does burn himself.... pffoooowwh don’t we know about it *queue a dramatic chorus of “Jesus Christ”s / violent air being blown out his mouth / him crouching on the ground having his life flash infant of his eyes wondering if it all really is worth it --------> the older boys just laugh and “we told you so”

HooOOLLY MOLY! obviously the lads know instantttttly that Eddie is flustered, they make all the expected big brother / dad jokes towards him. “Oh their pretty! Go get their number!”/ “Stop drawling Munson.” / “Oh so this is who you wanked over-” *A rather fast slap to the chest is dent out*

New steve headcannon let's go!!

Okay I know how steve is shown reacting to pain however I'd like to bring the headcannon that steve has Congenital insensitivity to pain, aka steve cant feel any pain. After being diagnosed, his parents (who, lest be honest have neglected him since he was a kid instead choosing to throw money at their problems instead) hired a nanny to watch him and look after him till he was like 13, and make sure he was never too hurt. After a while though she quit but steve had learned by that point how to look after himself, plus he had the emergency number aswell as a few private numbers of the local hospital and its staff, as well as fortnightly visits for check ups, so he thought he would be okay!

He uses this factor of not being able to feel pain in tow with his protector complex (also know as protecting his dumbass kids + robbin who keep getting themselves in life threatening situations smh) so he can shield them knowing he wont feel the pain.

Also hed almost definitely try hiding it from everyone (especially the kids) since he knows its an incredibly dangerous condition and with all the fighting monsters, he doesnt want the others to know. He is, however, good at assessing his injuries himself, and probably very well known and comfortable with the hospital staff (bc hes smart enough to make sure hes looked at even if he doesnt feel anythings wrong). Plus hes can cover for it pretty well too, learning how to actually make it look like hes reacting to pain from a younger age to not freak people out.

Robin would be the first to find out. The two would be sitting in a hospital waiting room after everthing at starcort (steve and joyce definitely were the ones making sure everyone gets checked out after the fight + explosion)

The two not really wanting to split up after everything with the Russians so robin stays by steve as they wait for him to get looked at, (dustin and erica both with their familys now). When a familiar nurse walks in and the moment she sees steve she just gasps "Steve Harrington!? What on earth has happened to you, this is SERIOUS young man. I gave you a pass last time, but with your condition, stunts like this could have you killed if you dont arrive here fast enough! Dont you realise your life expectancy is barely 25 without all these fights!?" And she just keeps fussing over him doing a thorough check up on him.

And robin is just like "uh um what the fuck is she talking about!? Why will you die and 25 steve?!?!?" Only for steve to turn away from her and say "I didn't want you or the kids to worry... robbie... i cant feel pain rob. Everything back at the mall? It didnt hurt me, it could never hurt me because I have CIPA. it's why I put myself in front of the kids when they're in danger, because I know I will be able to take any pain. I didnt want you to get worried."

After a long lecture and being checked up to the point where the nurse is happy for him to leave as long as someone monitors him for his concussion (robin immediately volunteered). From then on people wonder why shes so protective of him (and him her) they only tell that they know each others biggest secrets and that makes them closer than just freinds.

Obviously (most likely during/ after season 4, just without eddie dieing) everyone else starts to find out. First the upside down gang after steve is attacked by the demobats and steve has to calm Robin down because she starts panicking that they wont be able to get to a doctor in time. (Let's just say Nancy and Eddie were not very happy hed been risking his life on a whole other scale than the rest of them)

Then the kids, dustin first after he watches steve collapse soon after getting them all to hospital (dustin definitely cryed alot thinking of all the ways hed watched Steve getting hurt and didnt do anything). Then Lucas and Erica after they meet back up after they stayed with max. Then the rest as they slowly all murged into one group again. Joyce and Hopper were shocked, the old cop demanding to be notified by the hospital if they ever found themselves in the teens company again so he and joyce can look after him.

Steve later ends up with an emergency call list that takes up an entire page since all the kids parents + Eddie, Nancy, Jonathan and Wayne Munson (robin already being on it since starcourt) desire that they have adopted steve and choose this is a helpful way to look out for him!

I really want to write a fic with this idea tbh it would be really fun. Especially if I pair it with my eddie has chronic pain/ fibromyalgia hc bc like its quite literally the opposite condition (and the one I have) so it would cause for an intresting interaction xD

I really like this thing about shipping lgbtq relationship in stranger things but it gives me so much unrealistic expectations. Im stuck with JOHNANCE forever and you cant get me convinced. I still like the fact Robin could make friends with some other girl, it must be hard for her, we never saw Robin with an actual friend whos not Steve, that makes me so proud of her <3. About STEDDIE okay well FRUITY and i like this headcanon of bisexual steve but i dont see it happening honestly. Gay and panromantic Eddie is my strongest headcanon here. To conclude this, i like those headcanons but i think that making it canon would just make it queerbaiting.

(Will is gay thats all, not sure about Mike, but it would hurt if something worse happened between those two...)

Where do you see Chrissy and Eddie in 10 years if they hadn't died?

Hi!! That's tough. Some part of my head breaks when I see people spitballing that they'd get married or settle down in the big city and Eddie would be playing gigs and Chrissy would be coaching cheer or something domestic like that. It's not that I don't think they'll ever leave Hawkins or get married, maybe they would. I hope they would have. That sounds so nice. I've just never been one to imagine characters in the far, far, far adult future. Kid characters into teenagers? Yes. Teenagers into far adulthood? I'm bad at that. Maybe they would have the domesticity thing, the fluffy fanfic pancake life. But realistically-

[oh no there she goes again with the realistically] It depends on if they end up officially together. If they do-

I think Eddie might get stuck in Hawkins for longer than he thinks, regardless. He'd have to take Corroded Coffin on the road with him, for sure, if he wants to make it out of the town because I don't honestly think he'll go to college. He doesn't have a lot of money, and he just would've gotten free of high school. Sign himself up for four more years of school somewhere else, are you kidding me? No. He wouldn't. It would be like walking out of a prison cell and offering your arms for the stocks. Which I think a background character actually did in Hunchback of Notre Dame, now I'm plagiarizing- And as for Chrissy, she might also be stuck there. I don't think she ever thought of leaving it, actually. Except to go to college. And no, I don't think she'd decide college was not what she wants once she's with Eddie. I think she'd go to college, and Eddie would either move to wherever she's going to school and get a crummy job there, taking his band with him, or they'd be long-distance. I don't know. You'd have to think about where Corroded Coffin is. Do they all want to go to college? Or are they gonna try to make it big with Eddie somewhere else? I think Eddie and his band would start traveling very short distances outside of Hawkins to try to get their name out there. He and Chrissy might be lightly long-distance for a while. Then eventually they'd end up in the same city intentionally, get someplace to stay together, and muddle it out with ups and downs. Neither would make heaps of money unless Eddie was suddenly "discovered". And a boy who can teach himself to play a brand-new song almost flawlessly in a week WILL be discovered. Or he should be. In 10 years? I can see them comfortably settled either in the outskirts of a city (still near Indiana) or even back in Hawkins. Small house or apartment, smells like smoke and homemade food. Maybe they never got married traditionally, with a big ceremony. Maybe they eloped. Their dynamic would feel less like your typical husband and wife and more like "oh they've lived together since high school, they're married in spirit" even though none of that was true and they are married, and haven't lived together since high school. I'm just saying that's the vibe they'd give off as adults. I don't think Chrissy would keep the house perfectly, and I don't think Eddie would be a deadbeat. I don't think they'd have domestic bliss or be nauseatingly romantic, but I think they'd have a steady, mature kind of romance that you can feel without them wildly expressing it every time you see them. An assurance that the other person is gonna be with them for life, no matter what. Eddie would definitely make money at gigs because he is talented, and a lot of metal stars got their start back then the way he was trying to in canon. I think Chrissy could be a gymnast, a teacher, a coach, a model, etc. I think she could be a lot of things. She's smart and gorgeous and sweet. We don't get a lot of her character in-canon, so that part's fuzzy for me. Or maybe they both stayed in Hawkins and went into middle-agedness like fine wine, getting better and better over time. Maybe Eddie's still town pariah and Chrissy's talked about like a lost cause for staying with him all these years. Maybe she's got a small circle of good friends who don't care who her man is and that's enough. Maybe Eddie's been there to guide his little sheep all the way into adulthood. Maybe he never made it big, but he and his band continue to draw a bigger and bigger crowd in bars near Hawkins, getting some money, and Eddie works at a music store or something and woefully disregards its dress code. Smokes on every break. The only thing I can solidly think is that whatever happens to them in 10 years (if they'd survived), they'd still be together if Season 4 had been different and delved into a romance for them. Loved this, actually made me feel cozy and happy inside. A happy ending doesn't have to be perfect.

HC - Eddie Munson saying he loves you for the first time

When you first met Eddie you thought he had this really tough exterior but on the inside he was just a big softie

You were the new girl at school, and Eddie made sure you aren’t alone from the first day

He even taught you how to play D&D, and everyone called you the Queen of Hellfire now

With Eddie’s uncle working nights and your parents usually believing you were sleeping over at Robin’s you spent most nights with Eddie

You spent a lot of time with Eddie and yet somehow you weren’t expecting it when he said he loves you for the first time

The two of you had just gotten back from a Hellfire meeting, immediately crawling into bed and putting a VCR on

You put on The Shining, one of yours and Eddie’s favorites

It was the summer so it was hot and Eddie’s A/C unit didn’t always like to work so you were just in your shorts and bra

“I’ll be right back babe, I’m going to make us some snacks”

Eddie gave you a little puppy dog look with pouty lips, which was his signal for you to give him a kiss first

Eddie truly was whipped for you and he knew it too

“Don’t be gone too long I’ll miss you”

You went to the kitchen and found everything in its usual spot. You took out pizza rolls, popcorn, and the Hershey bar you had bought earlier that day so you could share it with Eddie

After you made all the food you put it on plates for the two of you and grabbed two cokes out of the freezer

You walked back into the room and Eddie immediately paused the movie

“Babe what are you doing? Keep going I love this part”

“You look…” he could barely get his words out the boy was truly tongue tied

“Are you okay?” You we’re very confused and honestly a little worried, Eddie had never been at a loss for words his entire life

“You look amazing. You’re just perfect and I don’t deserve it and I think I love you and I-“

“What did you just say?”

“I said you were amazing and perfect and I don’t deserve you”

“No Eddie that last part”

“Oh yeah. I love you. I love you a lot, I mean you make me happy. A perfect night with my woman, snacks, and a great movie”

You melted, he had never said that before. And you immediately knew you loved him too

“I love you too you big goon.” 🥺

While the food was important, it didn’t matter right now because as soon as you sat down Eddie rested his forehead against yours, his way of letting you know he felt safe

With everything going on in Hawkins it was usually hard to find time to spend like this together and with all Eddie had been through all you wanted was to make sure he was safe

And he said he loved you. The world could end tomorrow (and in Hawkins there was a high chance it could you never knew) and you would be happy because the two of you had each other

“I love you”

“You just said that Ed”

“I know but I wanted to see the smile on your face when I said it again”

“I love you too babe. Now eat your food before it gets cold and turn the movie back on, this part is good.” 🥺❤️
