Ephemeral.
a/n: i was looking for some edward cullen fics and decided to write one because i couldnât get this plot out my head(most likely been done but oh well my turn). this is my first piece of writing that iâve shared so feed back is welcomed! donât be a asshole though.
summary: ephemeral- e·phem·er·al- lasting for a very short time.
warnings: long asf. sorry for errors. edward cullen/jacob black. not a lot of Y/N use. fem!reader, teen!reader, slight witch!reader. maybe ooc, kind of movie and book. reader is âolderâ then eddy. jacob is aged up to bellaâs age. au where jacob isnât a creep. edward has more than one sperm. no explicit sex scenes but sexual intercourse/loss of virginity implied. angst? not sure if this counts as mature content but added a warning just to be sure. hope you enjoy.

The day you met Edward Cullen was cold, wet and dark.
Since you were born and raised in Forks you always assumed that this was the small townâs default weather but todayâs rain was plentiful and unforgiving.
Your dad honked the carâs horn again as you hurriedly slipped on the rain boots your mother gifted you for your 15th birthday. You grabbed your umbrella and dashed out the front door before jumping into the back seat of your parentâs BMW.
It was the first day of sophomore year and they wanted to make sure they sent you off personally. You werenât complaining about it though. Most kids your age would probably moan or groan about the frequent hugs or kisses on the cheek from your parents but with your dad being a traveling physician and your mom being one of the few doctors at Forkâs hospital you cherished the limited interactions with them.
You didnât think theyâd be able to send you off, let alone drop you off at school anyway. You assumed youâd be riding the musty, yellow school bus. You couldnât contain your smile as you talked idly with your parents from the backseat and watched the rain and emerald trees fly by from the window.
You wouldâve been nervous if you hadnât grown up with most of your peers or if your best friend, Nina, wasnât waiting for you in front of the school. A red umbrella protected her from the rain but her thin, grey jacket didnât do much against the cold, you could see her teeth chattering from the backseat. You kissed your parentâs cheeks and told them goodbye before jumping onto the wet concrete.
Ninaâs hair fell in soft, inky tendrils down her back and you made sure not to make a mess of them when you two hugged. She smelled like lilacs as you told her how much you missed her and she returned the sentiment.
You and Nina had been inseparable since diapers, your grandmothers were best friends before Ninaâs grandma passed a few years ago. You didnât get to see much of Nina this summer since your grandma wanted you to take the witch side of your heritage more seriously.
You complained to Nina in a hushed whisper about your grandma making you spend all summer picking different plants for her elixirs as you walked through the big, doors of Forks high school. Nina filled you in about her summer on the reservation as you stuffed unneeded items in your locker.
You two ended up parting ways; Nina going to social studies and you to math. Time seemed to fly by and before you knew it was time for lunch.
You sat in the back of the loud cafeteria with Nina and a four other girls you knew. When you plopped down in your seat you were instantly pulled into the excited chatter. âDid you see the new boy?â , Amanda (you were pretty sure that was her name) asked as she unpeeled an orange.
All eyes turned to you. âUh, noâ, you ate a spoonful of apple sauce, âI didnât know there was a new boy.â This sent the girls into a frenzy, all five of them talking over each other to describe this mysterious new boy. You caught some of what they were trying to tell you. Tall, quiet, handsome but you had to scrunch your face up and shake your head when you caught the word freshman.
Nina rolls her eyes at you, âOh, yeah. Y/N likes her men older.â It was your turn to roll your eyes but you didnât deny it, even though the oldest (and only) boy you ever spoke to romantically was only a year older. Amanda(you think) shrugs her shoulders. âMore for me thenâ
â.Ë âŸ .âË
The dismissal bell rang faster than you thought it would. You walk Nina to the bus and give her a parting hug as she promised to call you later. The squeak of your wet shoes was the only sound that accompanied you on your walk to the music room.
Your parents had a rule that you had to have an after school activity and you decided not to go with volleyball this year and instead would take piano. Playing the piano was nothing new to you. Your grandfather taught you the basics and a doleful lullaby before he passed, your father taught you the rest. You didnât mind honing your skills, especially since you were only able to play a few days this summer.
Your instructor, who was also the 12th grade science teacher, had left a note on the door saying heâd be late so you made yourself comfortable on the bench in front of the large, ebony piano. You stretched your legs and cracked your neck and fingers. You poke two manicured fingers on the keys closest to you. Two sweet notes fill the air.
Once you were settled you took a deep, shaky breath as nervousness crept into your mind. Donât they say if you donât use it youâll lose it? You thought, mind once again going to the limited amount of practice you had this summer. But you swallowed that down and with no other worrying thoughts you began to play.
Relief flooded through you, your fingers pulled to the keys like they were magnets. The sounds coming from the piano were literally music to your ears. Soon you were in your own world, the pitter patter from the rain fell into the background as you continued playing the haunting tune on the piano. When your fingers finally stilled you were startled by the sound of clapping from behind you. You jumped about thirty feet in surprise and whirled around to see who had frightened you. The scowl on your face instantly disappeared.
Ethereal was the first word that came to mind when you took him in. With his perfect, bronze hair and chiseled jaw he looked like he stepped out from the pages of The Odyssey. It seemed like his lithe framed towered over you from your place on the bench. The boy peered down at you through thick lashes. A smile was on his full lips but his eyes were serious. Why havenât I seen him sooner? This canât be the new boy.
âHelloâ
You mirror the greeting.
âIâm sorry. I didnât mean to startle you.â Jubilation laces his smooth voice, like he told a joke you hadnât caught on to. âI heard the music and had to see who was playing.âHe holds out a pale hand for you to shake. âIâm Edward Cullen.â His grip is strong and his hand is freezing from the frigid weather. You eye the grey peacoat he wears, probably does nothing for the cold. You shake his hand and give him your name. Edward rolls your name around on his tongue, it almost sounds better than the melody you just finished playing.
âAre you new to Forks?â, You hope you sound friendly. âYes. My family and I just moved hereâ, he places his hands in his coat pocket. No way heâs a freshman. âThat song was beautifulâŠdid you compose it?â, You shake your head, âMy grandfather. I watched him play it growing up.â âMay I sit?â, Edward asks, studying you with topaz eyes. âSure.â, You swore you heard a waver in your voice.
Edward takes up so much space on the bench, you didnât realize how broad his shoulders were when he was standing up. Edward shakes out his hands then begins playing a rich, mournful song of his own. Your eyebrows shoot up as you watch his slender fingers gracefully prance across the keys. Then as soon as he begins he finishes.
ââŠ.Dont take this the wrong way are you sure you were born in this time period?.â He laughs and you wouldâve said it was the most melodic sound you ever heard but freshman is written on his forehead in red ink. That sly smile returns to his face as he gets up from the bench, it doesnât reach his eyes. âIt was nice meeting you, Y/N.â
â.Ë âŸ .âË
You and Edward donât speak the following weeks. You greet each other with looks and slight head nods but donât talk again. Heâs always with his family; a very muscular boy, a girl with spiky hair, a statuesque blonde and a boy who looks perpetually tormented.
You do notice him in places you didnât before like the hall, the library, the cafeteria(how he didnât like lunch food because he never touched his tray)and Geometry. You find yourself (hopefully) secretly studying him. Unfortunately for you heâs handsome. His light eyes, shining hair. The way he doesnât carry himself like a freshman at all, he reminds you more of a young gentleman. Unfortunately for you he was handsome.
You learn from your mom when she calls you from one night at work to tell you that Dr.Cullen is their adoptive father. âI think itâs amazing that he would give all those children a lovely home.â
That same call is the reason you run into Edward at the hospital.
Your mom forgot her dinner and didnât want to leave and get anything so your dad thought it would be a good time to let you behind the wheel. When you get to the break room your mom and Dr.Cullen are chatting. They both lounge in plastic chairs, you hug your mom and place the Tupperware on the white table. âCarlisle, this is my daughter, Y/N.â
You and Dr.Cullen smile at each other, he asks you how you are and you do the same. You take in his angular jaw, amber eyes and fair hair. When heâs not looking you and your mom make eye contact. He looks like he should be in movies. âEdward mentioned you played piano.â Your chest warms at that and inwardly you roll your eyes. âYeah, iâve been playing for my whole life.â After polite conversation youâre able to escape leave and in your rush you run straight into a wall and land on your butt.
But then a cold, pale hand is reaching out to you and you realize itâs Edward.
âAre you okay?â, his voice sounds like honey. He pulls you back to your feet with one hand and you see his biceps flex in his black shirt. âYes. Thank you.â At first you two stand there awkwardly, then hesitantly fall into friendly conversation before you two both part ways.
The next two months are filled with studying, crafting elixirs and learning minor spells, Nina andâŠ.Edward. Heâd become something like a friendâŠan acquaintance? youâre not sure but somehow you seem to find yourself having conversations with him at school. Youâd learned little things about him like his birthday, He was gemini. You were an aries and that made you and him compatibleâŠ.not that it mattered. He learned things about you like your favorite color and about your cat, rose.
Sometimes heâd come by piano practice and listen for a moment. Heâd watch you with an expression you couldnât read, maybe ask about your day then leave. Edward was just as hesitant as you were to become whatever you were. Heâd say stuff like, âIâm not someone you should be friends withâ or something else broody and mysterious. Youâd roll your eyes and laugh. Edward would laugh too but his eyes always held a seriousness behind them.
Until one bleak day after a long, piano practice youâre walking to your car, listening to your ipod without a care in the world. You trip over a fallen branch before you realize it and you brace yourself to hit the ground. When you open your eyes youâre standing on two feet instead.
Your mind is in a frenzy before you notice the frozen hand on your arm. You fix your headphones, placing them around your neck. Edwardâs topaz eyes- not topaz, they were some weirderâŠdarker color. His eyes bore into yours the whole time. âThanksâ, Edward lets you go, âYouâre welcome.â You look at the boy, you werenât sure if that was a good word to describe him. âHow did you get over to me so fast?â you ask him curiously. He smiles, eyes hard, âI was behind you. I was calling your name but I guess you couldnât hear me over the music.â
Edward walks with you to your car, if you could even describe it as walking. He seemed to glide more than anything. Edward opens your door for you and you laugh as you slide into the drivers seat . âYou are not 15, how old are you really?â Edward leans on your car, hovering over you. âWhy do I always have to defend my age with you?â You look up at him, his hair is disheveled and his dark eyes are trained on you.
âBecause I donât believe you.â He looks at me incredulously, âIâm not 15 because I have manners?â, Edward asks you. A smile playing on his lips. You smile back and donât hesitate to say âexactlyâ. He laughs but his voice is stern when he says, âIâm done trying not to be your friend.â For a moment thereâs only the sound of birds and bugs.
âMe too.â
â.Ë âŸ .âË
Your grandma had always deemed January 3rd the best day to forage velvet foot mushrooms. This particular January 3rd you were staying with your grandma while your parents were away at a conference. Your grandma lived in a small house in the middle of the woods. The only indicator that there was a house was the long stone walk way, lined by small lights your dad put up. Your parents had offered to buy her a house in town but she refused. Sheâd said something about working better in the forest.
You knew your grandma would need a lot of mushrooms to make the elixir that soothed the pain in her hands and ankles so you offered to find them for her. You didnât mind missing school. You laced up your boots, put on your coat and grabbed your basket. You gave your grandma a kiss on the forehead, âIâll be back before dark.â, you reassure her.
The sun was beating down on you as you trekked through the woods but it did little to help the cold that seeped through your jacket. You cursed yourself for not bringing your gloves. You thanked god when you stumbled on a patch of velvet feet deep in the woods. You bend down to inspect the mushrooms and begin filling your basket, thereâs a comfortable silence. You jump then tense when an inhumane scream too close to where youâre foraging rips through the forest. A few birds fly out the trees but the rest of the animals go silent, or had they been silent the whole time?
A stag bursts through the bushes beside you and youâre knocked on your tailbone, wincing when you hit the hard ground. The stag doesnât go far, it staggers to the ground some feet away.
It looked like a bearâŠor wolf had tried to gut it. The animal was covered in blood and more leaked out onto the cold forest floor. You sat in shock as you watched the steam rising from the dying animal. Thatâs when rustling comes from the same brush. You scramble to your feet, crying out when a sharp pain blossoms in the area you fell on. Confusion overtakes the feeling of pain when a black boot comes through the foliage.
You register bronze hair,a manic expression, coal black eyes andâŠ..shiny skin. Not shiny but dazzling skin. He almost looked like he had been set aflame. you want to cover your eyes or look away but you canât. you were ensnared in Edwardâs trap.
âEd-Edward?â Is all you manage to strangle out. His head snaps to you, faster than you ever seen anyone move. You stare at each other, you take in his skin, it reminds you of your motherâs diamond earrings dancing in the sun.
Edward doesnât respond. Everything but his hair, eyes and feet are covered in the stagâs blood. It drips down his hands and covers his mouth in a way that suggests he ran a hand over the bottom half of his face. Finally heâs able to look away from you and you let out a breath you didnât know you were holding.
Edward lets out a pained sound that sends more birds soaring from the trees before running away. The gust of wind leaves your hair flying and leaves rustling. You grab the basket of mushrooms from the forest floor before bolting in the direction of your grandmas house.
How was he that fast? You think as you run to the house, trying to ignore the pain in your back. If you can even call what he just did running, if you wouldâve blinked you wouldâve never seen him leave.
You stumble over branches as your mind races. His skin. Like he was set aflame. You had read about his skin somewhere. You hold onto that thought until youâre finally bursting through the rickety doors of your grandmaâs house. You ignore your her screams of âno running!â as you go up the winding staircase two at a time.
When you reach your the small potion room you take long strides until youâre in front of the books thrown haphazardly over her desk. You go through book after book until you found the title you were searching for. Gripping its aged spine you step closer to the light coming from the circular window.
Your grandmotherâs bestiary was a thick, worn, book and you knew it well. You read this book from cover to multiple times a day as a kid, entranced by the drawings that seemed to pop off the page and their fanciful colors. You flipped and flipped and flipped until you find the page youâre searching for. Instead of warm hues this page was drawn in white, red, black and grey.
The bits of yellow on the left page helped depict a man shining in the sunlight. it looked like the author had attached real diamonds portray the manâs skin. The page on the right shows a black eyed⊠person? covered in blood from head to toe. Itâs hard to read but you believe Vampyre is written in crude, black letters above both pages. More information is written wherever thereâs room on the pages but itâs unintelligible due to age.
You planned to confront Edward the next day at school. Unsurprisingly, he didnât show. That remained the same for the next week. You kept the book in your bag just incase you ran into him though.
The sky was clear the on the Friday you decided to skip piano lessons and go to Ninaâs house instead. Her mom greeted you with a warm hug. Her brown eyes were happy as you two spoke about school and her new job.
You were lying on the couch rereading a horror book when Nina suggested visiting her father on the Quileute reservation. The clock on the end table beside you read 6:00 pm. It would be getting dark soon and you werenât sure if you should be out late with a Vampyre running around. Against your better judgement you agreed.
The ride to La push was quiet beside the light singing that came from the radio of Ninaâs pick up truck. You felt wrong not telling Nina about your suspicions about Edward. There was no secrets between you two and if a vampire was terrorizing Forks she should be the first to know. But you wanted to be sure you werenât losing your mind first.
There was a great bonfire going when you two arrived, it seemed like everyone was out of their homes and surrounding the inviting fire. They were talking in light conversation, most leaning over to try to warm their fingers from the frigid cold. You recognized some faces from frequenting the reservation with Nina. Like Mr.Billy Black who sat by Ninaâs dad and Mr.Blacks son, Jacob. You recognized his friends as well but couldnât remember their names.
Ninaâs father wraps you both up into a big, bear hug. The large man practically lifts both of you off your feet. You and the others around the fire fall into a comfortable conversation. Jacob and his friends have you holding your stomach with laughter. The elders share spine chilling stories about men who can shift from humans to wolves and it has you wondering just how much of it is made up.
When the cool, night air rolls around you and Nina are saying your goodbyes. You hug everyone around the bonfire before departing in her truck. âCall me when you get home! I love you!â, You say while hopping out the passenger seat and onto the rough gravel of your drive way. You notice that your parents cars are gone and the house is pitch black, besides the twinkling light that brightens the porch. Mom and dad must be at work. Nina waves goodbye as she drives away.
You thanked god you didnât forget your key as you turned it into the lock. The house is cold and you donât wait for your eyes to adjust as you fumble for the light switch. You wince when you find it and bright lights flood the vast living room. You grab a bottle of water from the kitchen and fill Roseâs bowl, humming a lively tune to yourself the whole time.
When you finally make it upstairs and to your room, you push the door open to reveal a slender figure dressed elegantly in black sitting on your bed. Your reflexes cause you to throw your water bottle at Edward with a yip. He dodges it effortlessly. You scuttle to the far end of room, knocking over trinkets on your desk. His eyes had returned to their original golden color and they watched you intently from his place on the edge of your bed.
You move your lips to ask him how he got in your house but notice the open window beside you l, the white curtains fluttering from the night breeze.
âWhat are you doing here?â, you try to say as confidently as possible. You were scared out of your mind but he didnât have to know that. âWhy do you smell like a mutt?â, your eyes brows scrunch together in confusion. âWhat?â Your eyes stay trained on him as you grab your book bag from where it slouched on the leg of your desk. âIâm asking the questions.â You dig in the bag and his stare is unreadable. âAnd I donât want any weird, mysterious half answers either.â You finally grasp the bestiary and he watches you flip until you find the two pages you discovered weeks ago.
You tread across the space separating you two, gripping the book by its worn spine. When you reach him you shove the illustrations in his face. âVampyre- thatâs why you were sparkling in the woods. Thats why youâre always freezing! Thatâs why you donât act or talk like a 15 year old-â Edward shakes his head, his perfect, bronze hair never moving out of place. He smirks but his eyes are razor sharp, âYou think you figured it out?â He takes the book from your hands, tracing the diamonds depicting the manâs skin- his skin in the sunlight.
you cross your arms indignantly, âYeah, I do actually.â He flips through the book, itâs a very quick motion. Inhumane. Topaz eyes meet yours and a chill goes down your spine. You wonder if you should find something else to throw.
Edwardâs voice is stony, âNo one will believe you.â He rises to his full height and looks down at you harshly..maybe with a bit of fear as well. âI wasnât going to tell anyoneâŠ.as long as youâre only eating animals.â You tell him, blinking up at him through thick lashes.
He lets out a sound halfway between a scoff and a laugh, âIf I was feeding on humans who would stop me?!â He flits from in front of you to look out of your large window, a hand resting on the frame. You turn to face him and you hate how..strong his back looked in the moment. âIâm a killer, Y/Nâ He turns back to you now, his features bathed in pale moonlight. âI can control myâŠ.urges but this is why I didnât want to beâŠfriends with you.â He spits the word out like it burned him.
You donât respond and only stare at his ashen face. His eyes look go from hard to..vulnerable, soft even. âHow do I know you wonât tell anyone?â You walk over to him and take his large, icy hand in yours. You guide him to sit on the edge of the bed beside you. Edward watches you quizzically, youâre sure there was a smart remark on his tongue.
You snap your fingers together and a thick puff of smoke appears, you blush but laugh at the shock on Edwardsâs face. âHow-â He starts but you shush him. âThatâs not what was supposed to happen.â You try again..and then again and finally when you think youâre just embarrassing yourself a pure, bright light beams from your fingers. You cup the sunlight into the palm of your hand and bring it to you and Edwardsâs face.
The light bounces off Edwardâs skin and itâs like thousands of diamonds dance in place of his usual pale skin. You donât think when you place your other hand on his cheek and rub your thumb across his skin. Itâs still cold to the touch and hard, like granite.
You drop your left hand and extinguish the light by balling your right hand into a fist. You sit back and Edward stares at you with another unreadable expression. âIâm a witchâŠnot a very good one but still.â You nudge his strong shoulder with yours, âYou wonât tell my secret and I wonât tell yours.â And to your surprise Edward agrees with very little argument.
You two spend the rest of the night bouncing questions off each other. Edward is sprawled over your bed, pillow under his head when he tells you that his family are âvegetariansâ meaning they only drain animals. âThatâs why are eyes are gold,â He explains to you in his silky voice, âIf we drank from humans theyâd be red.â
Youâre propped up against your large, wooden head board when as Edward explains how and why he was turned. âDid it piss you off that I was right about you not being 15?âis your snarly response. Edward actually smiles then mirrors your remark, âYeah, it did actually.â
â.Ë âŸ .âË
Since that night you and Edwardâs relationship did a 180. You two were no longer reluctant friends but close. You met his family and he met yours. Sometimes they sat with you and Nina at lunch. Well, him, Rosalie and Emmet.
The eccentric one , Alice, didnât really seem to like you. She seemed to leer at you like she knew something you didnât. Other times you would skip practice and go to Edwardâs beautiful home to watch him play while his skin shimmers in the sun from the expansive windows in the Cullen house.
Edward taught you about vampire gifts and you showed him a few simple elixirs for fun. You taught yourself how to use your powers to block your mind from him but the simple spell took more power than you could manage. Did you really care that Edward could read your mind? Sometimes you felt like he could do it without the powers.
Youâd complain to him about school, boys, potions and your parents. And heâd complain about wanting to rip out your math teachers throat. Edward would sneak into your room through your open window some nights and youâd talk until the sun came up. You even played baseball with his family on one stormy day. He explained to from the drivers seat of his Volvo that they had to play during storms to cover up the sound.
âWill you be here for my birthday?â You asked one day when he was driving you home from school. It was March 10th (thirteen days from your 16th birthday) and that meant less gloomy weather and more âcamping tripsâ for the Cullens.
He pulled into your long, empty drive way and you looked at him expectantly. He gave a sheepish look in return. âIâm sorry but we leave today. Itâs supposed to be very sunny these next few weeks and Carlisle doesnât want to risk it.â He emphasizes this by putting his pale hand into the rays of sunlight that entered the car.
You take his shimmering hand in yours, chest turning. You try to keep the disappointment off your face. âDonât be upset.â, You drop his hand and roll your eyes, âIâm not upset. stay out of my head.â Edward laughs, âKeep your wall up and I wouldnât be able to get in it.â You donât tell him that keeping it up for an extending period of time almost had you passing out in gym.
âAnd anyway, youâll have Mack or Matt-â, he waves his hand dismissively,âTo keep you company.â He has a charming smile on his face, his white teeth gleam just as much as his skin. You try not to smile back and keep a stern tone, âI keep telling you his name is Chris.â But I donât want Matt or Chris to keep me company, I want you.
You donât say the rest out loud but youâre confident he heard it anyway with how his eyes flutter to yours. His expression is unreadable. You thought it was unfair that he could dig in your mind but you didnât know how he was feeling half the time.
Someone calling you name is what pulled you out of your dream and into consciousness during the wee hours of your birthday. The voice was deep, irresistible even- âEdward?â You called, mind still slow and groggy with sleep. You sit up and blink your eyes a few times to help them adjust to the darkness. Edward is sitting beside you on the bed. At first you think you might be dreaming but your brain could never conjure up an image this perfect.
His bronze hair is damp and you guess itâs from the light downpour that was happening outside your window. He smells woodsy and of cologne when you hug him tight. He does the same to you, you donât say it out loud but you missed Edward while he was gone.
âHappy birthday, Y/N.â Edward pulls the string to turn on the lamp on your night stand. You finally look down and notice a small, velvet box in his alabaster hands. âThanks. But you didnât have to get me anything.â You take the box out of Edwardâs open hand, shivering when your fingers brush his cold palm. âYes, I did.â A boyish smile adorns Edwardâs face as he watches you open the box and hold up the gold necklace to the faint light.
âOh my god, itâs beautiful.â You motion for him to help you put it on. When his slender fingers brush your neck youâre sure your heart is beating faster than the day you saw him in the woods. Edwardâs looking at you with a smoldering expression and you have to tear your eyes away from him. âHow much was this?â You begin ranting about how he didnât have to buy the necklace but he shushâs you when his cold hand reached out and fixes the locket hanging just above the clothed valley of your breasts.
âDonât worry. Carlisle gave it to meâŠand now iâm giving it to you.â You grip his shoulder as you get out the bed. Edward watches you as you walk over to your bathroom, thanking him the whole way there. The locket really was beautiful, you couldnât help but admire it in the bathroom mirror. An image of you kissing Edward flashes into your mind and you blush and groan at yourself.
Youâd always thought Edward was handsome but that was a sore topic for you. Albeit he was one of your best friends and you didnât want to ruin that relationshipâŠ..but a kiss couldnât hurt.
You call his name, fingering the locket around your neck. But when you poke your head out the bathroom heâs gone.
â.Ë âŸ .âË
âWhat happened to you and Chris?â
âWhoâs Chris?â You put down the magazine you were flipping through, a laugh in your voice when you reply to Edward. He sits beside you on the black, leather sofa in his room.
When summer started a few days ago you were sure that you and Edwardâs relationship would tank . You were happy you were wrong.
Edward flits off the sofa and over to one of the many shelves filled to the top with cds, his back is to you but you can hear him clearly. âSoâŠyouâre only thinking about being with me because you and Chris are over?â, he feigns reading a cd. You feel like heâs genuinely looking for an answer because you actually remembered to put your wall up(even if you did drop it a moment later). You smile lightly at the thought of âbeingâ with Edward.
âFor one there was never a me and Chris. Two, Iâve thought about being with you since you walked in on me playing the piano.â You get up and walk over to the wall sized window to hide your blush. You wrap your arms around yourself as you wait for a reply. Edward is behind you in less than a second, cool air accompanies him as his limber body towers over you. His breath on your neck makes the soft hair resting there stand up.
âGood because I was thinking about tearing him apart whenever I passed him in the hallway.â Your skips a beat and you turn to look up at him. âWas Edward Cullen jealous?â Youâre sure if he was alive he wouldâve blushed, instead a smile paints his full lips. You canât help but to look at them before meeting his light eyes. âIâve never felt that emotionâ, he says sarcasm lacing his pleasing voice.
You reach out and pull him into a cold hug, your face in his hard pecs. Your mind wanders to how good he looks in the fitted black shirt and grey sweats. Youâre ready to let the compliment fly out your lips when Edwardâs body goes rigid and he stops breathing. You look up at him the best you can, confusion painting your features. His expression is pained as he takes a step away from you.
âYou canât like me that way.â You deflate a little as you turn back to gaze at the scenery outside his window. Edwardâs tone leaves no room for argument, âIâm not the good guy.. iâm a monster.â He doesnât elaborate and you donât force him to.
As you peer at the river with your arms crossed and the locket Edward gave you heavy around your neck, you think about how you donât believe him.
You wave Nina goodbye from your porch and watch as she drives away. The cool morning air causes you to shiver slightly. Your parents were at another convention, this one was in Australia and with you now being 16 your parents felt you were okay to stay at the house alone (youâve been doing that anyway but thatâs neither here nor there).
You decided to stay the night at the reservation with Nina. You smiled to yourself as you think about a joke Jacob told last night, pulling out your house key to unlock the door.
The heavy ,white door swings open and a pale hand catches your arm in a steely grip, pulling you over the threshold and in your living room. Edward has you pressed into his hard chest, engulfing you in scent and it sends your head spinning. Edwardâs breathing is hard but his voice is even when he says, âYou and Nina were playing with the mutts again.â Itâs more of a statement than a question.
You untangle yourself out of his muscular arms and punch his chest, wincing in pain immediately after. But you pull yourself together and make your voice stern, âDidnât I tell you not call them that?â Edward had caved and ended up telling you about him and his families violent history with the wolves. Now you really knew what it meant when he hurled the word mutt or dog when he was talking about them.
You throw your wall up, eyes trained on Edward as he flops as ungracefully as a vampire can onto your living room couch. He has a smirk on his handsome face, âIts kind of annoying that I canât read your mind.â
âVice versa.â,
Edward laughs but your face is stony. âI donât understand you.â
âIâm a vampire. Youâre not supposed to.â, he says in a âduhâ type of tone. You sit in the arm chair beside him. You look in his tawny eyes with the most serious face you can muster, âYou confuse me. You tell me youâre a monster but pull me into your arms? You tell me I canât like you that way but hold me until I fall asleep?â
You tear your eyes away from his and put your face in your palms in frustration. You drop your hands and look at him again, his face was solemn but you continued. âI like being your..friend. But if thatâs all weâre going to be we need to calm down a little bit..because I like you.â He huffs and looks away for you a moment like heâs gathering his thoughts. For a moment youâre scared (and a little hurt) that he might agree.
âIâm too old for you, Y/Nâ, heâs using his quiet, seductive voice but his eyes are conflicted. âYouâre only a year older than me.â You say confidently. âIâm 86 years older than you.â
You shake your head at him, âNo, youâve been one year older than me for 86 years.â A slight frown comes to Edwardâs beautiful face, âEven if that made sense, a person like you.. shouldnât be with someone like me.â Your eyebrows knit together, âSomeone like me?â
Edward lets out an exasperated sigh as leans back onto the couch. His hands fidget on his knees. âYou wouldnât understand, you said it yourself.â Itâs your turn to let out a sigh. âHelp me understand then!â Youâre on your feet, âI canât read your mind, Edward!â Your voice sounds close to pleading.
He looks at up you through thick lashes from his place on the couch. His voice is soft and you hear the same pleading tone that was in yours. ââŠYouâre alive, youâre good. I am death incarnated. I wonât do anything but hurt you, corrupt youâŠâ Edward shakes his head, âI donât want this to end badly, youâve been a good friend to me.â His next sentence makes your heart stutter and causes a shade of red to appear on your cheeks
âButâŠyou happen to be one of the most beautiful women iâve ever seen.âHeâs in front of you in a second, standing tall over you. His golden stare seemed to swallow you whole.
Edwardâs cold hand tentatively reaches up to your face, he twirls a piece of loose hair around a slender finger before releasing it. You canât do anything but stare at his beautiful face. Taking in the way his angular jaw tics, they way his tounge darts out to wet his full lips.
Edward pulls you into his chest, one hand on the back of your head as he presses his face into your hair. He inhales deeply. His breathing is staggered but so is yours as he gazes down at you.
âBut I canât stay away from youâ, Edwardâs voice comes out in breathless whisper.
Your voice comes out the same. Youâre sure if he wasnât a vampire he wouldnât have you heard you say, âThen donâtâ,
And when Edward kisses you your eyes flutter close and you have to grip his nice, grey sweater to ground yourself. His hands are buried in your hair and heâs making the sweetest noises youâve ever heard. Youâre not sure how long you two stay embraced in each otherâs arms but when you do let each other go, you canât wipe the smile off your face.
The rest of the day is spent in your bed, tangled in Edwardâs arms. Edward kisses you hesitantly, you have to make the first move for most of them. âWas the kiss good?â you ask Edward as you lay on the mountain of pillows on your bed, his head on your stomach so your view of his face is obstructed but you can swear that you feel him smile.
He sighs when you run your hand through his unruly hair and begin to massage his scalp, âIt wasâŠ.exhilarating. But that was my first kiss so I donât have much to compare it to.â
You smile lightly, âMine too.â
Edward takes you on a date the next day. Your hands are intertwined as he drives his car to your favorite restaurant. He says something about courting coming before kissing and how you make his morals weak. You just give him a kiss on his cool cheek, happy to be in his presence.
â.Ë âŸ .âË
You barrel down the steps, heart racing as you slip on your sandals. You sprint out the door and leap down the porch steps, you fling open Ninaâs passenger door and toss yourself into the seat. She looks at you with one dark eyebrow raised and a smirk on her cherry tinted lips. âI think thatâs the fastest iâve ever seen you move.â
You huff as you put your seatbelt on, âYou told me you were ready to leave me.â Nina puts the truck in drive, laughing all the while. âBut that doesnât mean almost break your neck getting to the car.-â , she takes a quick glance at you before turning her eyes back to the road, âI thought Edward said he didnât want anything for his birthday anyway.â
You reach over to the radio and turn the music up slightly. âHe did but this is his first birthday weâre celebrating as a couple and technically our one month anniversary is coming-â Nina cuts you off with a fake gag, she takes her had off the wheel to act like sheâs putting finger down her throat. You laugh, pushing her shoulder slightly, âI know it sounds crazyâŠbut I want to make a good impression. I really like him Nina.â
âI can see-â, Nina sighs, âWhat do you get a 103 year old leech anyway.â You lied when you told Edward you wouldnât tell any one him and his families secret. You had to tell Nina for her safety. âI have no idea. I was thinking a silver ring..he always wears a bracelet with his families crest so it may match the studs on it-â You sigh as you look out the window, the sun is warm on your cheek, âI could get his moms name engraved on it.â
âThatâs nice, thoughtful even. I thought vamps didnât do silver though.â You laugh lightly, âPretty sure thatâs a myth. I thought that was just werewolves anyway.â Nina shrugs, âI donât know man. Letâs just hope his finger doesnât fall off when he tryâs it on.â
The ride to Port Angeles is quick and peaceful. âOkay, first thing on the list is finding a ring.â You tell Nina as soon as you two hit city limits. The task ends up being less daunting than you anticipated , Nina ends up finding a ring as soon as you two step into the second jewelry store. Itâs a thick, simple, silver ring. Timeless but old fashioned, exactly like Edward.
âCan you engrave it?â You ask the small, grey haired woman behind the counter. She nods and lets you know that it can take up to two hours. She eyes you and Nina, âAnd how will you two be paying?â her voice is high and nasally. You pull a band of money out of your purse and her eyebrows shoot up. You laugh inwardly, one of the perks of having parents that were always gone were the gifts they gave you to make up for it.
When June 20th comes around youâre more nervous than youâve ever been before. Youâre not sure why because Edward isnât acting like today is a big deal but the black, ring box is burning a hole in your purse. You feel woefully overdressed as you stand outside the Cullenâs door, youâd put on your best dress, your most expensive flats and even curled your hair. As soon as you raise your hand to knock on the hefty door, itâs swinging open and youâre greeted by the shortest Cullen.
You lower your hand as Alice smiles at you, âHello!â, her voice is chipper and you canât help but smile back as you return the greeting. âYour dress is so beautiful, I thought youâd wear the other one. â She turns gracefully on her heel and you follow her into the foyer of the beautiful home. Youâre so confused you forget to thank her for the compliment. You were pretty sure she hated you, you guess you were wrong? or she just appreciates fashion.
When youâre in the living room you note the lack of party decorations. So he was serious about not doing anything for his birthday, you think. You feel out of place with the singular happy birthday balloon tied around your wrist.
You guess the confusion youâre feeling is noticeable because after Esme almost crushes you with a hug she says, âI thought Edward told you we donât celebrate birthdays.â You look at her sheepishly, âI thought it was just a âhimâ thing.â This makes her giggle and pat your back adoringly. Rosalie walks down the steps, hand in hand with Emmet. Youâre surprised the he can even fit down the steps with how broad his shoulders are.
Rosalie flits over to you, taking a lock of your curled hair in between her fingers . âWell, donât you look like a doll.â A blush creeps onto your face, âI thought Edward was being dramatic when he said you didnât do birthdays.â This causes Emmet and Rosalie to burst into a canopy of laughter. You cross your arms in agitation, âWhatâs so funny about that?â, They look at you like they forgot you were standing in front of them.
âItâs not you,â Emmet begins to explain, âItâs just that the last birthday we celebrated was mine.â Youâre sure you still look lost, âIn 1935.â He finishes up. That causes you to smile and giggle. You put a hand to your forehead, âI donât knowâŠI was just nervous about the whole vampire birthday. I didnât know what to expect.â Emmet claps a hand on your shoulder, âDonât worry, heâs never brought a girl home so thereâs not a lot of expectations to meet.â
Edward is beside you in a second, steering you up the stairs that Rosalie and Emmet just came down from. âIgnore them.â, Is all he says as you two make your way to Edwardâs room. âWhy? I thought the conversation was insightful.â
âIâm sure you didâ, Edwardâs says with a slight smirk. When you finally make it into his room Edward plops onto his leather sofa, grabbing you by the waist so you fall with him onto his lap. He puts his face in your neck, inhaling deeply then kisses the soft skin. âYou look beautiful.â Your brain goes haywire for a moment but then you remember why you came.
You begin to dig in your purse with shaky hands, âI know you said youâd come over when you finished hunting-, You take in Edwardâs dark eyes, his unruly hair. âBut I wanted to give you this now. Incase I was sleep or something.â You pull out the box and hand it to Edward, youâre sure he can feel how sweaty your hands or hear how fast your heart is beating but he doesnât comment on it.
âI thought I said no presents.â He turns the box over in his hand then turns his curious eyes on you. âI know but you got me something andâŠyou deserve a gift for your birthday.â Edward pops the box open and the ring glints in the dimming sunlight. You study his face for a reaction but its remains passive.
âI hope you can wear silver, i didnât know if it would hurt you like in the movies.â You feel him laugh from behind you, he kisses your neck again, âI can wear silver but thank you for worrying about me.â You let out a sigh of relief. Edward carefully takes the ring out the box and inspects it, you wait with bated breath for him to notice the name engraved on the inside of the ring.
Edwardâs just about to slip the ring on his finger when his breath hitches. He effortlessly moves you off his lap and onto sofa beside him. He studies the ring intensely, tracing his finger over the engraving. âElizabethâ, he says it weakly but itâs loud enough for your human ears to pick up.
âWas it too much?â your voice is soft when you ask, you place a comforting hand on his hunched back. Edward shakes his head, âNo..itâs- itâs just I didnât expect you to remember her name.â You tsk, âYour mother is important to you so that makes her important to me. Of course id remember her name.â Edward turns to you, he has that look that you canât read again. You wish you knew a spell that could help you read his mind.
âYou donât have to wear it.â, You try to offer Edward a lifeline. Maybe you were moving too fast? Maybe it was too painful a memory. Edward told you about his mom months ago, maybe it was something he overshared.
Then youâre hugging Edward before your brain can register whatâs going on. His chest is pressed hard against yours and it causes a shiver to run down your spine. Youâre not sure if itâs due to his body temperature or the proximity. His head is in your neck again, his toned arms grip your back tightly.
You stay like that for a moment until he pulls away. âThank youâŠyou donât know how much this means to me.â He slips the ring on his finger then pulls you into a deep kiss. You feel like the room is spinning. Edward rests his forehead on yours. His words come out slow, âI need to..eat, I donât want to do something iâd regret.â, He darts to his bed side table and picks up his keys, âBut let me drive you home first.â
The feeling of a hand on your foot wakes you, in your haze you throw out your hands expecting to throw out a force to blow the assailant back but only produce smoke. âIf I was a mosquito I wouldâve been terrified.â Edwardâs voice is quiet, seductive even. His hand traveling from your foot to rub circles on your leg. âYouâre not funny.â, You say as you turn on your lamp light. When you turn back to him heâs lying back on your bed, muscular arms folded comfortably behind his head.
Youâre too tired to put your wall up but couldnât help but think about how good he looked. His eyes were back to their original topaz, the shirt he was wearing had ridden up to show his muscular stomach.
His hair was in its usual unruly state, a smirk on his full lips. Your heart was hammering in your chest, âDid you get to eat any mountain lions?â Youâre not sure what to do..or what to say in this situation. Your mind was yelling one thing but your body? Your body was telling you something completely different.
And somehow you and Edward ended up making out on your bed. Only the sound of bugs chirping outside your window to accompany you two. Your body moved on its own. You kiss Edwardâs neck and bring your hands under his shirt to grip his cold back, effortlessly pulling your bodies together.
âY/N, we should stop.â, Edwardâs breathing hard, the roaming hands on your waist have stilled. You stop your ministrations. Edward had confided in you that he was a virgin one late night after a heavy make out session. You werenât sure you believed him. Hot, 103 and still a virgin? No way.
âItâs the truth.â, He begins to pull away, you stop him with a balled up hand in his shirt. You know your strength is no match for his, you know you could never really stop him if you wanted to. "Im sorry.â, the hand in his shirt goes to his hair. âItâs your birthday, I want to give you anotherâŠpresent.â Youâre sure Edward would be blushing if he could.
In less than a second heâd pushed you half way across your massive bed. He has almostâŠferal look in his eyes. Youâre not sure if you should be excited or scared. âAre you okay?â You ask tentatively, the way you would a scared animal.
âNo..Y/N. I could get..carried away and hurt you, kill you. We canât-â, scurry across the bed to him. You massage his scalp, hoping to relieve the pained expression on his face. âYou wonât hurt me. Iâm not a flower, Edward.â, His grip is steely as he pulls your hand from his head.
âI care about you..and I couldnâtâŠtake your virtue before marriage. I could crush you if I lost control. I could drain you-â You cut Edward off by covering his lips with your yours. You expect him to push you away, surprisingly he doesnât. You pull away your eyes on Edward, hands disappearing up his shirt.
âEdward itâs 2004 not 1880, iâm sure god has more pressing things to worry about than premarital sexâ. âBesides,â The hands under his shirt pull it up, up, up until itâs over his head. âYou just fed. Aaand itâs your birthday and I want to do this with you because I trust you.â Your shirt comes off next. âI want this. I want you. I can take control where you canât hurt me.â
You see him start to argue back so you kiss him again. And he kisses you back. âOf all the things iâve doneâŠgod will forgive me for this.â, Edward says in between deep kisses, âI canât resist you.â, his hand caress up your thigh dangerously high.
So, he doesnât. And you donât resist him.
Once you two are spent Edward canât stop staring at you and touching whatever piece of you he can get his hands on. He kisses the top of your head as you lay entangled in his arms. âYouâre so beautifulâŠif i could dream they would be filled with nothing but you.â His voice is filled with whimsy.
You blush and climb on top of him again.
â.Ë âŸ .âË
The forest surrounding your grandmotherâs house is vibrant as you and Edward relax on an itchy patchwork blanket. His fingers are idly playing with your hair as you lay your head on his chest, you had asked Edward why he was forcing himself to go to high school and he gave you his reasons. They made sense, being able to stay in places long did have its advantages but you felt like it had to be torture and you voiced that to him.
âOh, it is torture. Especially when you have my abilities. Mike was thinking about you so much last week I almost poked his eyes out.â You let out a hearty laugh, sitting up on your elbow to look at him. âThen stop torturing yourselfâŠyou can come with me to college next year.â Edward turns to you, a cheesy grin lighting up his face. âI have multiple degrees, I donât need college either.â You roll your eyes, âsoooâŠdonât go to classes. The world is our oyster, iâm just saying thereâs so much more than forks high school.â
You look at Edward, trying to catch his eyes to get some semblance of how heâs feeling but heâs too busy staring at the gloomy sky. You lay back down on his chest and you two are quiet again for the moment.
âI canât leave my family.â, you grip the soft material of his shirt, youâre not sure why you do. Maybe to ground yourself? get Edwardsâs attention? Either way your words come out before you can think about them, âThey can come with us! ooor I can go to a school closer to Forks.IâŠjust donât want to be without you.â You hide your blushing face in his shirt and Edward runs his fingers through your hair in a manner you guess is supposed to be soothing.
âDonât change your aspirations for me, weâll figure it outâŠbecause I canât be without you either.â You smile to yourself and wished you could stay in this moment forever.
â.Ë âŸ .âË
You wish you believed your dad when he told you that high school was a fleeting chapter because before you realized it you were a senior with four months of school left. You had been so wrapped up in applying for colleges, hanging out with Nina, studying spells, going to La push and being with Edward you felt like the time had slipped from your fingers.
The admissions letters were burning a hole in your backpack when you sat down at your usual lunch room table. You couldnât wait to tell Edward that you got into both top picks, one in Seattle and the other in California. Now if it was up to Edward to let you know if he wanted to stay in Forks or if heâd be following you. Either way you wanted to be near him.
Nina had been close to throwing up when you told her you were waiting to accept after you talked to Edward. She instantly went into a rant about how you shouldnât base your decision on a boy. And you knew everything she was true, you just felt like you couldnât be without him. You felt like youâŠloved him.
âDid you hear weâre getting a new girl?â Amanda says when you finally get yourself settled at the table. âYeah, Chief Swanâs daughter. I think her name is Becky?â, Nina says before stuffing a hand full of chips in her mouth. âI would hate having to move schools this late in the year.â Michelle, a scrawny girl with brown hair comments, the table murmurs their agreements. âI wonder when sheâll be here itâs already the 17th.â Michelle continues.
You realize that you donât have to wait too long because Isabella Swan is at school the next day. You only see her in passing in the hall ways. Sheâs a pale, plain girl with long, brown hair. You swear she trips over her feet five times before sheâs halfway down the hall.
The next time you see her is at lunch, sheâs staring at you with a look you canât place. No- sheâs not staring at you but the boy whose hand youâre holding. You laugh to yourself, you probably stared at Edward the same way the first time you saw him. You kiss him softly, then release his hand so you can go to your respective lunch table.
â.Ë âŸ .âË
âWhat do you mean Edwardâs in Alaska?!âYouâre sure your eyebrows look like theyâre ready to fly off your face in surprise. You had received a cryptic text from Edward right before the dismissal bell rang saying he cared for you and would see you soon. In your confusion the only thing you thought to do was go directly to the Cullenâs house where you ran into Rosalie. âHe had to visit our cousins there, Iâm sure heâll talk to you about it when he gets back-â, Rosalie puts a reassuring hand on your shoulder, âHeâs going to be okay, Y/N.â
Edward returns a week later, Rosalie was right about him being okay. Edward is more relaxed than youâve ever seen, itâs like he has a new pep in his step. When you confront him about his disappearance he kisses you hard on the mouth telling you not to worry, he had some âthingsâ to take care of. You want to push him for more information but donât, youâre just happy to see him after his absence.
Later that day, youâre standing in the schools parking lot talking with the Cullenâs after school. Youâre throwing your head back in laughter after Jasper says something surprisingly funny when you hear the sound of screeching tires. Edward is beside you one moment and gone the next. Your eyes search frantically around the parking lot for him.
Jasper and Rosalie make noises of anger beside you then begin speaking in hushed, aggravated whispers. Then your eyes lock on Edward and you see whatâs got the Hale twins so mad. Heâs stopped a van from crushing Bella Swan with his barehands. Your eyes are wide in shock and you canât seem to form words, did Edward just blow him and his families cover? Your eyes dart around but you canât figure out if anyone saw the extreme feat.
Edward takes off the from the scene, the Cullen kids scramble to get in their cars and you turn on your heels to begin walking home.
âWhere are you going?!âRosalie says in an exasperated tone. You point over your shoulder awkwardly as she stares at you with fiery eyes, âI was gonna walk-â, Rosalie cuts you off as she pulls open the drivers door so hard you think it may fly off its hinges. âNo, iâll drop you off. Edward would kill someone if he found out you walked home and people are being killed.â Her tone leaves no room for argument so you pull the passenger door open and sit in the seat.
Rosalieâs anger is rolling off her in waves as she drives to your house. Youâre surprised her head hadnât started smoking. âIâm sure no one saw him.â You offer weakly, trying to alleviate the girls stress. Her head snaps to you then back to the slippery road, she looked like she wished she let you walk. âThatâs not the point. Edward is getting reckless. No offense, but he already fucked up telling you-,â You raise your eyebrow slightly, a little offense taken but you let Rosalie continue her rant. âAnd now this..weâre lucky if we donât have to leave tonight.â
Rosalie pulls in front of your house, her car almost on two wheels from the speed. You thank her as you get out the car and sheâs pulling off the second your feet touch the wet grass.
You curse and think about pulling your hair out as you do your math homework. You look at the clock, it was going on 11:30 pm and you still have five more questions. Youâre ready to toss your book at the wall when your phone rings, you ignore it trying to focus on the daunting task in front of you when it rings again.
You let out a frustrated groan as you pick the phone up, itâs your mom calling from the hospital. âMom, iâm trying to do-â, she cuts you off, âY/N, I heard about what happened at the school. Your boyfriendâs such a hero for pulling Chief Swanâs daughter away like that. Sheâs lucky he was there.â You give her a mhmm, trying to hurry her off the phone but she continues. âHe even came up here to check on her! He is such a gentleman. You got lucky with that one.â
Once youâre done with your homework and tucked in your bed, your mind starts to go over what your mom said. He came to the hospital to check on her? You try not to jump to conclusions because the poor girl did almost get crushed by a vanâŠbut when has Edward been this empathetic? You fall asleep trying to push the thoughts out of your mind.
Your woken out of your sleep sometime later. Thereâs a cold body pressed against your back and an arm slung around your waist, you involuntarily shiver. âEdward?â, You say groggily.
âGo back to sleep, I didnât mean to wake you.â , You turn to look at him not bothering to throw your wall up. âWhy did you visit Bella at the hospital?â, You try to make out his face in the dark but itâs too hard for your human eyes. âI had to make sure she didnât suspect anything.â His chilling hand rubs your neck tenderly and youâre thinking about grabbing another blanket when Edward is putting it over you and him.
Get out of my head, you think causing Edward to laugh.
You fall asleep in his arms shortly after.
When you wake up youâre alone.
â.Ë âŸ .âË
A while later youâre sitting in your usual spot at lunch. Nina is obliterating the food she brought and you canât focus on yours because youâre too busy watching Edward and Bella talk near the salad table. You hadnât meant to stareâŠbut once his nimble body got up from his usual lunch table not to join you but to catch her falling apple you couldnât help but peek.
âYou better let that go before it gets everywhere.â You look at Nina then at the juice youâre squeezing in your hand. âI didnât realizeâŠâ, You trail off, trying to watch the rest of the interaction. You look at Nina roll her brown eyes instead. âJust look at them, Iâve been watching this entire time.â, Nina says it low, like she doesnât want the other girls to hear. âThey look cozy.â, she says in the same low tone.
Nina looks back to you, her pretty face is stern. âWeâll talk later.â, You gulp. You feel like you a child who just got reprimanded by their parents. You throw a wall up when you feel a pair of eyes on you. You donât have to look to know itâs Edward, you would know those tawny eyes anywhere. You make yourself eat some food, you didnât want to pass out in the middle of the cafeteria because the wall was draining your powers.
You made a list during your last class of the day just to get your racing thoughts together. You wrote hurriedly on a crumpled sheet of notebook paper from your bag, it only contained two things to do. First: ask Edward about his conversation with Bella, the second: talk to Nina.
You couldnât decide if you should ask Edward about his conversation with Bella or confront him. Like Nina said they did look pretty comfortable. You chew the end of your pen in frustration. You remember him telling you that he spoke to her at the hospital that late night in your bed. So what else would they need to discuss?
You have your umbrella open as you walk to where Edward usually parks his silver car. Heâs waiting for you alone, his siblings long gone. You throw your wall up, munching some of the rice krispie you held in your free hand. Being that you were a senior your parents had become lenient with having an after school activity. You asked Edward to wait for you while you talked to your counselor about being accepted into your top schools.
Unfortunately, her suggestion was going to the school in California. She felt like you could really push your self there and also get away from the city you grew up inâŠyou just had to accept the offer. You donât greet Edward as you get in the passenger seat of his Volvo. He probably knows my wall is up.
You clear your throat looking outside at the trees before looking at Edward. Your mind is split, you want to talk about Bella and also wanted to know if Edward (and maybe his family) had made his mind up about following you to California or even to the school in Seattle.
So, you just dive in. âWhat were you and Bella talking about?â, You canât help the smirk he swallows down. âNo, hello or how are you?â, Your mouth forms a straight line. âYou didnât even acknowledge me today, so maybe I should be the one asking.â, Edwardâs honey eyes are trained on you, you know heâs probably annoyed that he canât read your mind. You feel the exact same way.
He lets out a sigh, taking your hand in his. Heâs rubbing soothing circles on your palm. âBella invited me to La Push, she said sheâs going with her friends.â Your eyebrow quirks up, ââŠShe only invited you?â, You say slowly. Edward squeezes your hand, âShe invited you by extension because she knows youâre my girlfriend.â, You think Edward can see the green eyed monster on your back, when you snatch your hand from his and fold your arms.
âOkay. Letâs go, I have plenty of friends in La Push.â You had gotten to know Jacob and his tight band of friends during your junior year, much to Edwardâs displeasure. His jaw ticks in anger, âYou know I canât go there.â, His hand reaches out and caresses your cheek. âBella is only my friend.â You look at him, he was so beautiful it hurt. You couldnât resist him. You couldnât stay mad, especially when you had male friends of your own.
You finish the rice krispie that fell in your lap.
âOkay... l I trust you. But if thereâs something you need to say then say it.â Edward kissed you then. Itâs soft and sweet and you want to curl in his lap like a purring cat.
But what you donât say out loud. What you hide behind your wall is that youâre not sure if you believe him.
â.Ë âŸ .âË
When the weather gets too nice for Edward to be at school you decide to disappear with him for the day. You make him help you pick Pacific Bleeding Heartâs for a paste your grandmother wanted you to make. You explain to him what the paste was for, and how youâd grind the flower as you two sit on the forest floor, the bubbling river beside you two echoing your words.
You watch his skin sparkle as you practice using your powers, he kisses you every time youâre able to successfully do a spell.
âOh yeah, donât forget about my recital tomorrow!â, You say holding Edwardâs hand as you walk back to your grandmothers house. âMy mom said she would try to come and you know my grandmas too sick. Iâd like you to be there.â
Edward pulls his hand from yours and tosses your arm over his shoulder, he picks you up like heâs cradling a baby and sprints you two back to the slanting house.
He places you on the ground to face him, âYou know I wouldnât miss it for the world-â Edward kisses you deeply, both hands cupping your face gently, âBut iâm hungry and I think I hear something good.â
And with that heâs gone.
â.Ë âŸ .âË
âOh, thatâs tonight?â, Your mom says through the speaker of your cell phone. You hold it to your ear with shaky hands, âYes, mom. Iâve been telling you and dad for months.â, You try to mask the irritation in your voice.
You hear the sound of your momâs name being called and the beeping of machines. âIâm-Iâm so sorry baby. I promise your dad and I will make this up to you when he gets back from Wisconsin.â, She speaks to someone and they respond in an urgent voice, âY/N? I have to go. Please donât walk home you know those people were killed. Ask Nina or Edward to take you home. I love-â The phone hangs up before she can finish.
You cry out in frustration, maybe it was anger? Or sadness? Could be all three, youâre too devastated to tell. Nina would be at work but you didnât fault her for it, she had to pay for college somehow. Everyone wasnât lucky enough to have two doctors for parents. You call Edward twice but go straight to his voicemail. He was probably getting ready or having angsty Edward thoughts about his would be next victim.
After you finish throwing a temper tantrum you call the next person you can think of.
Amanda gives you 40 minutes to get ready. You had already showered so it gives you enough time to lightly do your make up and style your hair in an elegant updo. You put on the dangly, diamond earrings your parents bought you to accompany the necklace Edward gifted you.
You throw on the long, black dress the school provided for tonight. You think itâs pretty cute considering its from the school with its square neck and bell sleeves. You admire yourself in the mirror before pulling on your short, black heels. Then rush down stairs to the car idling in your empty drive way.
âThank you so much.â You tell Amanda, giving a polite smile to the girl in the passenger seat holding Amandaâs flute. You reply to Ninaâs good luck text telling her you love her then text Edward and tell him you canât wait to see him.
Your solo is close to the end of the performance so you watch from the curtains for his golden hair and muted skin but..it never appears.
Your chest clinches when your music teacher tells you itâs your turn to go on. You have to force yourself to hold your head high with a pretty smile on your face. It hurts when you sit on the rough piano bench because you know none of the faces in the crowd came to see you. Your throat is getting tight as you scan the crowd one more futile time. You want to scream and cry, you want to run away and hide in embarrassment.
But you donât.
Instead you bring your manicured fingers to the keyboard and you begin to play.
You decided to play your grandfathers song, at first you thought the melody was too sad but it matches your mood perfectly now. As you play you push all your pent up emotions into the keys, a few tears escape your eyes as your adrenaline rushes. The beautiful notes float through the air and fill the schools large auditorium.
Your fingers dance over the glistening keys as you play the haunting melody. You know you finish strong when the music excites even your ears but what you didnât expect was the standing ovation from the crowd after you rise from your seat and curtsey. It only lasts for a minute but it puts a real smile on your face as you return behind the stage.
Thereâs no flowers waiting on you when the recitals over. You get a few polite hugs or pats on the back but no pictures, no âyou did so well!âs, you try not to think about it too hard. To add to your growing frustration you couldnât find Amanda anywhere and you had searched the entire school for her.
You tried calling Edward but his phone continued going to voicemail. Now you sat on the schools steps in defeat as you watched everyone get in their cars and leave, working yourself up for the walk home.
You were happy it didnât rain but you still cried the whole walk home. You were lucky there were no murderers lurking in the trees because you wouldâve been a pretty easy target.
When you finally make it home you kick off your shoes and toss Edwardâs necklace in the trash. You couldnât believe he had stood you up, Edward had never been the type to leave you stranded or not answer the phone. He was too much of a gentlemanâŠyou guess you were wrong.
You sat at the kitchen bar in disbelief for a moment, swirling your spoon in the soup you were making yourself eat. Rose rubbing against your dangling feet as she purrs.
When you wake up the next morning, through the grogginess of sleep you realize youâre not alone. Edward has his arms around you as he watches the sunrise over your head and through your bedroom window. You huff, âYouâve got some nerve.â, You throw his arms off you and slip from your soft bed, stopping when you notice the beautiful, blood red roses sitting in a glass vase on your dresser.
Youâre contemplating throwing them out when Edwardâs hand grabs your wrist lightly, youâre tired but you throw up your wall. You didnât feel comfortable with Edward digging around in your head today. âPlease donât throw them aw-â You cut him off, âYou think flowers will fix this?â, You say harshly, ripping your wrist from his grasp.
You turn to face him with fire in your eyes. His hair is in its usual disheveled state, his topaz eyes are solemn. âY/N, Iâm so sorry i missed your recital-", You throw your hands up in contempt, âYou didnât just âmiss my recitalâ. I was there alone, I had to walk home in the dark while people are being ripped apart. You didnât pick up the phone or answer my texts. Since when is that you Edward?â
You begin to walk into your bathroom, Edward hot on your trail. He watches you silently as you turn your shower on. âIs there something you need?â, You ask, voiced laced with anger.
Edward gets down on his knees, taking you by surprise as he hugs your waist. His face is dejected as he looks up at you, his scent is captivating as you weakly try to push him off but Edwardâs grip is like a vice. Before you can protest heâs begging for your forgiveness.
Edwardâs full lips move rapidly, âMy cousins from Denali-the ones I visited in Alaska have come. They-They arenât vegetarians like me and my family. I had to help..control them..weâre trying to show them the way.â His eyes search yours as he stands to his full height, choosing to engulf you in a hug.
His tantalizing scent clouds your mind but you still manage to shake your head as you look up at him, âNo offense but that shouldnât have stopped you from calling.â You try to break free from his arms but heâs too damn strong. Sometimes you forget that youâre really dating a vampire.
The sound of the running shower water is all you hear for a moment then Edwardâs releasing you and hanging his head. Youâre torn because youâre definitely still angry due to the night before but you loved Edward for trying to stop the loss of innocent lives. He sits on the toilet, watching you silently as you slip off your night clothes and into the running shower.
When you get out Edwardâs still sitting there to your surprise. He watches you get ready quietly, following behind you like a scolded puppy. Youâre sitting at your vanity doing your hair when he says, âI donât blame you if you decide you want to leave meâŠI would too. Iâm..terrible..â When you glance at him his head is in his hands as he sits on your bed.
You sigh, feeling a slight sadness for theâŠboy?, âIâm not leaving you EdwardâŠYou just pissed me off. I didnât deserve that accident or not. I thought youâd be there for me.â You look up and his gold eyes are on you, then heâs over to you in a second and kissing you sweetly.
âAnd when do I get to meet these cousins?â, You ask with an eyebrow raised. Edward laughs, elated to be back in your somewhat good graces, âWhen they decide they can be around humans without disemboweling them.â
â.Ë âŸ .âË
After making Edward promise that heâd never disappear again, he becomesâŠ.distant. Not in the sense of him not being around(not that he is) but heâs always in his head the sporadic times you two are together. You try to ask him whatâs wrong but he always blames it on stress, sometimes saying nothing at all.
With Edwardâs reoccurring absences you start going to La Push to hang out with the Quileute kids regularly.Since senior year youâd seen them less. It felt good kicking your feet back with Nina and Leah and laughing at the boys jokes. You listen to Jacobâs troubles with a unnamed girl and try to give him the best advice possible given his peculiar situation.
ïżœïżœBaseball tomorrow?â, You ask Edward when you notice that the next day will be particularly bad weather. Edward leans on his car, getting ready to depart from your house. Heâs looking past you for a moment, heâs so wrapped up in his thoughts he doesnât hear you and you have to ask him again. âUh, no..it wouldnât be safe with my cousins and all.â, He fixes your slipping robe , tawny eyes trained on you now. âAnd stay inside, I donât want you getting mauled or anything.â
You agree, leaning into to him, âOkay butâŠever since your cousins came I feel like i barely get to see you anymore. I miss you.â Edward strokes your cheek, âThings will be different soon.â
You donât actually take Edwardâs advice. You slip on some black leggings and one of Edwardâs jackets before meeting Nina outside. You two had decided to drive to Port Angeles to find prom dresses, Nina had asked Embry over a romantic dinner a month or so ago and you just assumed youâd be going with Edward. âI hope all the good stuff isnât gone.â Nina says nervously when you two finally arrive.
After a few hours of searching and deliberation Nina finds a simple but beautiful, plum gown, itâs sequined around its sweetheart neck line and brings out her brown eyes and skin. You go with a strapless, mid length dress, Itâs sage green with a barely noticeable floral pattern printed on it. You almost didnât get it until Nina tells you how good your boobs look in it.
You pay for both the dresses and both pair of heels out of the âiâm sorry for missing your recitalâ money from your parents. Nina is promising sheâll pay you back on the drive home but you wave a manicured hand to brush her off. âNina, you never have to pay me-â, Your words are cut off by the screech of the cars tires and the sound of the hood of Ninaâs truck being crushed.
âWhat the fuck?!â, Your neck lurches forward due to the impact and it causes your head to become dizzy. Through your haziness youâre able to see three figures. All pale and beautiful. You instantly recognize them as vampires. The man with the ponytail has stopped Ninaâs truck with one hand, thereâs a crazed look in hisâŠred eyes. Red, that means they drink from humans. Your heart races as you realize how bad of a situation you and Nina are in.
You watch the three vampires and they seem to be arguing. A woman- a red head with crazy hair and a slender man with shiny, black hair seem to be disagreeing with the one who stopped the car. You take this as an opportunity to click off your seat belt and grab your phone from your purse in the back seat to call Edward.
You feel Ninaâs wide, brown eyes watching you before you hear two doors open and you two are both pulled out the car and thrown onto the asphalt.
You let out a cry when your head hits the ground hard. Before you can protest your being picked up by your throat and held in the air, âJames.â, the one with the glossy, black hair says, almost like heâs talking to a petulant child. James turns his head, to look at them and you look from your peripheral. Nina is struggling as best as she can as the red head holds her by her hair, you watch as she licks her lips like a lion ready to pounce.
âShut up, Laurent! Youâre not stopping me from tearing this one apart.â James licks his lips this time, âI need a snackâ You smack the hand around your neck and he squeezes it before letting you go. You fall to the ground with a thud, scrambling to get as far away as possible while taking shaky breaths. A boot comes down hard on your back to stop you and you let out a scream.
âYou smell him on her donât you? This isnât smart.â The boot on your back twists and you let out another pained cry. You feel lucky that you havenât heard any bones break yet. âExactly. He stopped me from eating the last one. Why should I have to suffer because he likes his pets?â James hurls the word out like itâs a slur.
You hear Nina cry out and then a soft, feminine voice begins speaking, you imagine it to be the pale, red head woman. âJames, my love. Leave her and letâs focus on the other girl..this one doesnât smell nearly as good anyway.â Itâs quiet for a moment. Youâre not sure if youâre breathing, youâre waiting to feel fangs rip your throat out or an icy hand to grab you when you hear the crunch of gravel and Nina screaming your name.
She helps you stand, her face is terrified when she says, âWhat the fuck just happened?â. You look at her and youâre sure your face is conveying the same emotion, âIâm not sure but we need to get to Edwardâs house.â
Nina agrees as she makes her way to the trucks destroyed hood, âIf this piece of junk can make it.â
â.Ë âŸ .âË
You donât wait for the truck to stop moving when you two arrive at the Cullenâs. You jump out as quickly as you can with the throbbing pain in your back and neck and donât stop moving until you get to the large front door. You knock and the action causes the unlocked door to open slightly, before you can stop yourself your pushing the door open and stepping over the threshold.
Youâre half way into the house when youâre briefly grabbed and shoved into the wall before being let go. âI thought you were someone else.â Is the only explanation Rosalie gives. You take in the girls disheveled appearance and forget about the events that just transpired for a moment. âIs everything okay? did something happen with your cousins?â, Rosalie looks at you like you grew three heads.
âMy cousins?â, she says quizzically. âYeah..the cousins you were helping get off the human stuffâŠfrom Alaska?â, Rosalie looks at you again before understanding blooms in her eyes. Youâre still confused when she lets out a sound of annoyance, she shakes her head as a look of disappointment comes to her face.
Rosalieâs eyes soften when she looks at you, âIâm sorry,Y/N. But I think Edwardâs been lying to you.â, Now itâs your turn to look at her like sheâs grown extra limbs. âWhat-What are you-â She cuts you off, eyes darting off somewhere, you donât even think to look as your head reels.
âOur cousins from Denali were never here, Y/Nâ Rosalie begins to sink down and youâre confused as to why until youâve realized you moved into a sitting position. âEdward said you two broke upâŠI guess heâs been telling you a lie about our cousins to spend time with Bella.â You let out a weak laugh. To spend time with Bella, the words ring in your mind.
Your confusion turns to sadness, âSo, what did he say was going on when I came around?â, Rosalie winces before she strikes the next blow. âHeâŠsaid you wouldnât leave him alone and he needed to make sure you werenât going to tell anyone about us.â Your heart drops into your stomach. Not only was he lying to you, but he was telling his family that you were chasing after him like a love-obsessed stalker.
Rosalie rises then offers you a pale hand, you look her with teary eyes when taking it. âIâm sorry, Y/NâŠ.I kind of suspected but wasnât sure.â You scoff, snatching your hand from hers once youâre on your feet. âYou suspected but didnât come to me?! We see each other almost everyday at school what kind of shit is that?!â Rosalieâs eyes turn hard at your outburst but you couldnât care less.
She points a manicured finger at you, âI may like you and Edward may be wrong. But Edward is my brother and I would never go against him.â You donât acknowledge her reply with words, only shaking your head and asking where Edward was. âHeâs in the garage-â Your legs start to move, the pain you experienced earlier far from your mind. Rosalie flits in front of you, âBut I donât think you should go down there.â You brush past her.
The garage is in chaos when you make it down the stairs. Bella, Carlisle and Edwardâs intense conversation pauses as they watch you stalk wordlessly over to Edward. Carlisle calls your name just as you push the boy, he doesnât budge but you donât care as you push him again.
âYouâve been lying to me this whole time!â You roar. You go to punch him but Edward stops you softly.
You want to cry but you refuse to let the tears fall in front of them. Edward looks sad as he holds your wrist, âYou were with Bella the night you missed my recital?â, you ask Edward breathlessly.
He doesnât answer, choosing to look everywhere but your face. So, you look towards the brunette. She nods her head in confirmation and it takes everything in you not to strangle them both.
âIâm sorry. Y/N but we donât have time, Bella is in-â, You snatch your wrist from him, glaring at a dejected looking Carlisle and doe eyed Bella.
You cut him off sharply, lip curling in anger when you speak, âThen make time! I almost died today and now this?! Youâre going to hear me.â Edward looks confused until you let him into your mind and show him the pain you endured just moments ago.
Edward releases your wrists, he takes a step back and goes to touch the bruises forming around your neck. You smack his hand, âDonât touch me.â, You spit venomously.
Edward explains what happened with the trio of vampires and Bella, you laugh bitterly in his face. âLet me get this straight. You lied to me to take her-â You point to Bella, âNow they want to kill you and eat her? Sayonara. I love when people get instant karma.â You turn on your heel to leave but Edward appears in front of you, grabbing your wrist.
âDidnât I tell you not to touch me?â, He doesnât let your wrist go. A tear escapes as your anger turns to sadness. âWhy Edward? I thought we had something. You do know lying is a sin right? What happened to caring about your soul?â, Edward winches.
âYes, Y/N. I know. I told you that you make my morals weak. Im not goodâŠI said I was a monster. Itâs in my nature to hurt people. I didnât mean for this to happenâŠI care for you. I only lied to you because I wasnât sure how to tell you that my feelings became platonic once I met Bella.â Edward goes on to explain that Bella is a singer and what the means.
This time when you pull your wrist away he lets go. âSo all this time down the drain because she smells good?â, Youâre furious again. âNo..itâs so much more. IâŠlove her, iâve never felt this way about anyone before.â Your heart falls out of your stomach and onto the hard garage floor , you swear you can see it beating as Edward continues.
âI didnât want this to happen this way. You were such a good friend to me. I know it was a long time for you but in my state it was only a few minutes. Youâll get over me and live a long and happy life with someone who truly loves you.â, You look at Edward, genuinely look at Edward as the monster he is. You want to punch him but you know itâll hurt your bruised body more than itâll ever harm his.
You think about arguing or bashing the windows out of his Volvo but you squeeze your hand into a tight fist instead because what you really want to do is drop to your knees and sob. âWell, good luck. Can you move now?â, You ask Edward, voice cracking. He shakes his head no, âIâm sorry but⊠I need your help. James is an excellent tracker and without your disguising spell sheâll die.â
You scoff, crossing your arms, âFuck you, Edward. Now move.â You try to go around him but heâs in front of you again, this time on his knees. It reminds you of when he begged you for forgiveness not too long ago.
âPlease, Y/Nâ He takes both your hands in his and you donât look at him as a few tears escape your eyes. You couldnât believe this was genuinely happening. Just a few months ago you were hoping to move out of Forks with Edward now he was on his knees begging you to save his beloved.
âI said no. Now get away from me.â Edward doesnât budge, âY/N, please. Iâll do anything. Youâre a good person, please donât let her die. Help Bella so I can kill the vampires that did this to you.â The rest of his plea falls on deaf ears.
Edward babbles on and on before you finally tell him to shut up. He does instantly. You rip your hands from his, âIâll help her even though she knew we were in a relationship-â Bella doesnât meet your eyes when you look at her, âBecause youâre right. Iâm not a monster like you and I donât want her death on my hands. Let it be on yours.â
You roughly snatch a lock of hair from Bellaâs head and begin saying the words. When youâre finished you donât turn towards Edward and speak openly, âIt wonât disguise her completely but itâll give her a better chance.â as you walk out the garage you donât look back and Edward doesnât stop you.
â.Ë âŸ .âË
The liquor burns your throat and the music is too loud as you wobble through you and Ninaâs going away party. When you told Leah that you accepted the offer and would be moving to California with Nina she insisted she throw you two a party.
You agreed even though you werenât in a parrying spirit and drank your sorrows away as you watched everyone else have fun as they danced by the roaring fire.
It seemed like only one person was as sad as you so you sat by the sorrowful boy as he sipped from his red cup. âWhatâs got you down?â You asked Jacob, youâre surprised he can understand you with the way you were slurring.
His brown eyes donât leave the fire, âYou remember the girl I was telling you about?â, You nod and Jacob continues. âSheâs wrapped up with these-â Jacob stops himself, eyes flickering to you. It sounded like he was ready to say vampires but it could just be your drunk and sad mind playing tricks. âThese freaks and now sheâs hurt pretty bad. Iâm just worried about her.â Your mind grinds to a halt as you try latch on to a memory through your inebriation.
You remember your mom coming home and telling you about a girl, Bella, getting admitted due to a really bad fall. You knew better, you were surprised she survived the run in with the vampire. But this canât be the mystery girl.
âOh, iâm so sorry.â You say, feigning sadness as you reach out and pat Jacobâs muscular back. âWhatâs her name? My mom could check on her.â, Jacob sighs, Her name is Bella but itâs okay, I think I can visit her tomorrow.â You want to projectile vomit in Jacobâs face but you hiccup instead.
You were soooo tired of hearing that bitches name. In your drunken state you begin laughing , you arenât too sure why but itâs better than the first option.
âWhatâs funny?â Jacob asks, eyes laced with confusion. What the hell, you think and you tell him everything. And while Jacob is trying to process his thoughts you look at him, really look at him and youâre talking before you can stop yourself. âYou know youâre too hot to let her string you along like this.â Jacobâs thick, dark eyebrows shoot up at your words causing you to laugh.
A smug smirk erases the surprise on his face, âYouâre not the first person to tell me that.â, you smirk back at him, gripping his bicep for balance. You were close to him now so you were able to smell his earthy, sandalwood scent, âThat youâre hot or that sheâs leading you on?â, Jacob gives a hearty laugh before he quips back in his deep voice, âBoth.â
For some reason your drunk brain takes this as permission to kiss Jacob. Your lips briefly touch his before heâs lightly pushing you away, even going the extra mile to take a step back.
âWhat are you doing, Y/N? You know how I feel about Bella.â You look at him dumbfounded, âDid you hear anything I said? Bellaâs with Edward.â, Jacobâs brown eyes donât meet yours, âI know.â, Jacob sips from his cup again, âbut she loves me and iâll be there for her when he fucks up.â
You scratch your head in genuine confusion, âNo, Jacob you deserve someone who appreciates you, who wouldâve chosen you first-â , Jacob looks up at you now, brown eyes resembling the fire that warmed your cheek.
âLike you?â, Jacob laughs, âIâve talked to you a hundred times and you never thought of me like that. Youâre only trying to kiss me now because Bella stole your boyfriend.â He looks down at you, âYouâre just jealous.â, It wouldâve felt better if he wouldâve punched you.
You apologize for the wholeâŠexperience and take a sip of your drink before turning towards Ninaâs house. You wondered if Jacob was right the whole walk there.
â.Ë âŸ .âË
The pounding on your door woke you up sometime in the afternoon. You threw a pillow over your head to block out the noise but that only worked for a moment.
âIâm up!â, You shouted, throwing the covers off your body before getting out of the bed. You maneuver around the piles of clothes on the floor, you meant to pick them up but you had been in too much of a funk since the party.
You pull open the door to reveal your mom and dad. Your dad is holding a camera to his glasses but your moms smiling face drops when she sees your disastrous state.
When her eyes take in your room she looks concerned, âY/N, why arenât you getting ready..your rooms a messâŠâ You shrug, âI told you iâm not going to prom.â You sit on your bed and look at the window across the room. You try not to think about Edwardâs shimmering skin as the sun bounces off it. âI donât have a date either.â,
Your mother tsks, âyou donât need a date you have Nina.â, You lay back with your arm covering your eyes. âNinaâs bringing Embry. Iâm not being a third wheel.â Your mother sits on your messy bed and pats your knee, âYouâre so pretty someone will have to dance with you.â
âNow, get up and get dressed. Your father and I took off work for this.â
You feel embarrassed walking into the dance with no one your arm. Your sage dress shimmers under the lights as you walk to an open table and sit.
But your mother was right. You did have to wait a couple of songs but a cute boy from the football team asked you to dance. Nina gives you a thumbs up across the dance floor from over Embryâs shoulder.
Your partner turns you in a way where you have a clear view of a brunette in a blue dress and a boot across the dance floor. Edward and Bella donât see you, too busy in their own world. You turn back to the boy in front of you and plaster a smile on your face.
Epilogue
You hum a tune as you jog up the stairs to you and Ninaâs apartment. You thought about the homework you had to do as you pressed the 3rd button on the elevator.
Nina was cooking when you made it inside, the delicious smell sending your stomach growling. Youâre ready to investigate whatâs in the skillet when Nina yells out, âHey, you got some mail!â
You turn your attention from the kitchen to the mail bowl beside you. A crisp, white envelope is addressed to you in sprawling, cursive letters.
You open it with Nina over dinner, both your mouths drop when you read what the letter says.
A invitation to Edward and Bellaâs wedding.

Forever Yours || Paul Lahote
Summary: Request -Okay so reader is Bella's (fraternal) twin sissy. She moved to Forks with Bella and the whole first book happens WITHOUT her knowing what's going on. She's just as in the dark as Charlie is..... Read Rest Here
A/N: LOVED THIS. LOVE TWILIGHT. Keep them coming!! Thank you for the requests as always!
Pairing: Paul Lahote x Swan Sister Reader
Word Count: 4.0k
TW: Possessiveness
You and your sister, Bella, had always gotten along well even being so different. She was the shy twin who always stood behind you. You on the other hand always fought Bellaâs battles because she needed it, thatâs what sisters were for. The two of you werenât identical, and your personalities could not have been more different. Yet, at the end of the day, she was the person you knew would always understand you. She was your best friend and confidant. So, when she proposed moving back in with Charlie you followed along with her.
Things changed when the two of you moved to Forks and not in a way you liked. She began distancing herself from you after she met Edward. Instead of coming home and gossiping about your respective days she started going to the Cullenâs house. She stopped telling you things. She became protective and oh so secretive over her boyfriend. You confided in Charlie more than you could ever expect. You hung out with Jessica and Angela more than you wouldâve ever dreamed. Still, you looked after your sister. She was the shy one who fell hard and fast. For whatever reason you just couldnât seem to trust Edward. When she finally let the two of you meet he was just off and you couldnât seem to pinpoint what it was.
It wasn't until the departure of Edward Cullen, leaving Bella desolate and shattered, that the mysterious shroud enveloping your lives began to unravel at a rapid pace. As Bella struggled to navigate through the abyss of heartbreak, you tried your hardest to be the strength that she needed. But it often felt like you were failing her. Like nothing you could say would offset any of the heartbreak she was feeling. And you were angry. Angry at the stupid family that decided to vanish without a trace. For even though Edward seemed off he seemed like he truly was deeply in love with your sister.
Your only saving grace was your old friend Jacob. He found a way to bring your shattered twin back to the surface of the water she was struggling to swim in. The three of you spent so many nights together doing everything and nothing at the same time. Laughing till your faces were blue and finding the human connection she so desperately needed. You could never thank him enough for bringing back your sister you had lost for so many months.
But even that wasnât enough for him to leave. When Jacob withdrew from both of your lives you became the sad twin. It was Bella who became angry like you were so many months prior. Bella forced you in the truck one afternoon claiming she had a bone to pick with the second boy who abandoned her in so many months. You had no desire to see the boy, but Bella demanded you come with her.
You watched as she pounded on the door of his home only to be met with nothing. You waited in the truck as Bella noticed Sam and his pack off to the side of Jacobâs home. Her footsteps treaded the path towards Sam and his pack, heart pounding with a mixture of apprehension and anticipation. It was only when you saw her physically push Sam, the leader of the tribe, did you bolt out of the car trying to catch your sister from doing anything too drastic.
"Bella, stop!" you cried out, your voice tinged with desperation as you rushed forward. Your heart was hammering desperately in your chest, a whirlwind of emotions swirling within you as you reached out towards Bella, hoping to stop the impending confrontation.
But it was too late. Bella's palm has already met one of the dark-haired boys cheeks with a sharp crack, the sound reverberating through the trees. You watch in dismay as the manâs expression darkened. His features contorted with fury, a primal growl rumbling in his chest that even startled you. The forest seemed to hold its breath as the world became silent at what the next move of the man could possibly be. You gulped feeling the tension thick in the air.
And then in the midst of the events that were unfolding you looked to the men in front of you looking at each of them one by one before your eyes finally met the one who had just been slapped. His gaze locked onto yours, a fleeting moment of connection amidst the tumult that surrounded you. In that instant, everything seemed to crystallize, the world narrowing down to just the two of you even with all the people surrounding you.
Timed seemed to slow to an utter crawl. The world around you faded into insignificance as your attention was locked in on the man. A sharp gasp came from you as you continued staring right at him. It was a feeling you had never experienced in this lifetime. Something you could never have expected. He too couldnât seem to break his gaze away from yours. In that fleeting instant, everything seems to shift. The air crackled with anticipation, the forest holding its breath as the weight of the moment bears down upon you. It's as if the universe itself has paused, allowing you and Paul to exist in a suspended state of existence, isolated from the disorder that rages beyond the confines of your shared gaze.
As the boy who captured your heart and soul with just a single look staggered backwards, a whirlwind of emotions courses through his mind each feeling vying for dominance over the others. Anger, once burning bright within him, now dissipates like mist in the morning sun, leaving behind a hollow sense of bewilderment and wonder. His chest heaves with the effort of controlling the torrent of feelings threatening to overwhelm him. He had felt every single emotion. Saw every single emotion. You were her. You were his imprint. Only Sam had been so lucky to have found his person. And now he did. And he didnât even know her name nor you his.
To your surprise you felt your feet moving forward as he dropped to his knees on the forest floor. Pauk was acutely aware of the weight of this moment. He had to wonder what you were feeling. You too were locked in on his own eyes, yet you could have no idea what was going on and how chaotic your seemingly normal life was about to get. But amidst the heaviness of the moment, there is something elseâa glimmer of hope, a spark of possibility that ignites within him like a flame in the darkness. For in your eyes, he sees not just a reflection of his own turmoil, but also a flicker of understanding, a shared recognition of the bond that now binds the two of you together.
"What... what just happened?" Bella's voice wavers, her eyes wide with disbelief as she looks between you and the man she just slapped. But you have no answers to offer, you were just as confused as she was. While Bella's voice wavers with disbelief, her eyes dart between you and the surrounding men, searching for answers amidst the bewildering scene.
Embry, who had been standing nearby with Sam, catches your eye with a knowing smirk, a hint of understanding dancing in his gaze. He stepped forward, as if he's seen this scenario play out before. "Looks like we've got ourselves an imprint," Embry remarks, his voice tinged with amusement as he addresses Sam, who watches the unfolding scene with a composed yet cautious demeanor.
Sam nods in acknowledgment, his expression unreadable as he assesses the situation before him. His eyes shifted between you and Paul with a measured intensity, as if gauging the depth of the bond that now connects you.
Meanwhile, the boy you had originally came to see, Jacob, came sprinting out of the house that he had just ignored Bella from. His expression a mix of surprise and concern as he takes in the scene before him. His eyes narrow as they settle on Paul, a flicker of protectiveness crossing his features before he turns to you, his look softening with understanding in your utter confusion. Yet in all that was happening so fast you couldnât seem to tear your eyes away from this man. He had captured your mind, body, and soul all within a single look.
"Y/N, are you okay?" Jacob asks, his voice gentle yet tinged with worry as he approaches, his footsteps echoing against the damp grass.
You finally tore your gaze away from Paul somehow, your heart racing as you meet Jacob's concerned gaze. Despite the frenzy that surrounds you, his presence offers a sense of comfort, a reminder of the unwavering support that has always been there for you, negating the two weeks he had decided to ignore you for.
"I don't know what happened," you admit, your voice barely above a whisper as you try to make sense of the whirlwind of emotions that flowed through you so unexpectedly. "But I feel... different."
Bella's eyes widen in disbelief, her mind racing to comprehend the incomprehensible. But amidst the uncertainty that envelops you all, one thing remains clearâthe ties that bind you to Paul, are unbreakable, defying logic and reason with an undeniable force.
"Jacob," Sam's voice cuts through the silence, his tone firm yet tinged with a hint of urgency. "Take them to Emily's. We need to talk." He motions towards Paul who was still on his knees before you.
Jacob nods in acknowledgment, his gaze flickering between you, Paul, and Sam, a silent understanding passing between them. He moves forward, his hand reaching out to gently guide you away from Paul, his touch reassuring in the confusion that surrounds you.
"Come on, Y/N, Bella," Jacob murmurs softly, "Let's go."
As Jacob reaches out to guide you away from Paul, a low, guttural growl rumbles deep within Paul's chest just as it had earlier after Bella has slapped him. His possessiveness flaring in the face of Jacob's touch. His eyes narrow, a primal instinct driving him to protect what he now considers his own.
"Hands off my girl," Paul's voice is low, but the irritated edge to it is unmistakable as he stands to takes a step towards you. His eyes never left yours. The intensity of his declaration sends a shiver down your spine, his unwavering stare holding you in a trance.
But Sam, ever the voice of reason among the sea of emotions, steps forward with a measured stride. His expression unwavering as he addresses Paul with a firm yet understanding tone. âPaul, calm down," Sam's voice carries authority, tempered with a hint of empathy as he meets Paul's frustration head-on. "We need to talk, separately. She will be just fine with Jacob."
Paul's protest is immediate, his feelings for you overwhelmingly strong. "No, she's not going anywhere without me," he insists, his voice tinged with desperation as he takes a defiant step forward, his resolve unyielding.
But Sam's gaze holds steady, his alpha like authority asserting itself in the face of Paul's defiance. "Paul, stand down," he commands, his voice brooking no argument as he meets Paul's gaze with unwavering determination. Paul winces but gives into Samâs demands, though the reluctance is evident in the tension that lingers in his frame. His eyes remain locked on you, a silent promise of protection and devotion burning brightly within their depths.
While Jacob leads you away from Paul you can't help but feel torn between the conflicting desires that rage within you. Part of you longs to stay by Paul's side, to bask in the warmth of his unwavering love. While another part recognizes the need for clarity and understanding in the sheer confusion that threatens to consume you. And as you and Bella follow Jacob through the dense undergrowth of the forest you can't shake the feeling of Paul's presence lingering at the edges of your consciousness, a constant reminder of the inexplicable bond that now defines your existence.
Jacob guides you and Bella through a trail in the forest, a heavy silence hangs in the air, punctuated only by the rustling of leaves and the distant calls of unseen creatures. Sensing the need to break the tension, Jacob takes a deep breath before breaking the uncomfortable silence. "Look, I need to tell you both something," Jacob begins, his voice cautious yet resolute. "But it's going to sound... well, it's going to sound crazy."
You and Bella exchange a puzzled glance, the weight of Jacob's words settling uneasily in the pit of your stomachs. You've both sensed that there's more to the Quileute tribe than meets the eye, but the truth remains shrouded in mystery.
Jacob takes a moment to gather his thoughts before coming out with it. "The thing is... we're not exactly... normal," he admits, his words halting as he struggles to find the right way to explain the inexplicable. "We're... werewolves."
The revelation hangs in the air like a heavy fog, enveloping you and Bella in a cloud of disbelief. For a moment, neither of you can find the words to respond, the enormity of Jacob's confession leaving you speechless. "Werewolves?" Bella's voice is barely above a whisper, her eyes wide with shock as she looks to Jacob for confirmation.
Jacob nods solemnly, his expression grave as he meets Bella's gaze. "Yes. And there's something else. Something called imprinting."
You nodded along, âThatâs what the one guy just said. Weâve got ourselves an imprint? What is that?â You asked pressing him further.
Jacob smiled knowing that your life was going to change, hopefully for the better. "It's when a wolf finds their soulmate. Their other half. The one person they're meant to be with for the rest of their lives." Bella's brow furrows in confusion, her mind struggling to comprehend the magnitude of what Jacob is telling her. But you, on the other hand, feel a strange sense of recognition stir within you, a faint echo of the inexplicable connection you felt with Paul.
As Bella sighs with uncertainty, Jacob senses the weight of her confusion and seeks to provide clarity. "And... and what does that have to do with what happened back there?" Bella asks, her voice laden with hesitance as she gestures back in the direction of Paul and the pack.
Jacob's gaze flickers towards you, a silent acknowledgment passing between you as he prepares to reveal the truth. "It means that... Paul imprinted on you, Y/N," he explains gently, his eyes filled with compassion as he meets your bewildered gaze. "He's your soulmate."
âPaul.â You whispered his name out loud for the first time. Paul, your soulmate. Your heart skips a beat at the revelation, the words sinking in slowly as you struggle to comprehend the enormity of what Jacob is saying. Soulmates? It's a concept you never thought you'd entertain, let alone experience firsthand.
"Soulmate?" Bella's voice echoes your thoughts, her eyes widening in astonishment as she turns to you for confirmation.
You nod slowly, the reality of the situation beginning to sink in. "I... I don't understand it all," you murmur, your voice barely above a whisper as you grapple with the implications of Jacob's words as the three of you walked through the forest to what you assumed to be Emilyâs place, whomever that was.
Jacob offers you a reassuring smile, his expression filled with understanding. "It's okay, Y/N. I know it's a lot to take in," he says softly, his tone gentle yet firm. "An imprint is... it's like finding your other half. Your perfect match. And for Paul, that's you."
Bella's eyes widen in realization, her mind racing to process the revelation. "So... he's bound to her? Like... forever?" she asks, her voice tinged with uncertainty as she seeks to grasp the intricacies of the imprinting process.
Jacob nods solemnly. "Yeah. It's a permanent bond," he explains, his tone heavy with the weight of the truth. "But it doesn't have to be romantic. It can be... it can be like a best friend too. Someone who's always there for you, no matter what."
The realization washes over you like a tidal wave, the enormity of the situation sinking in as you come to terms with the truth of Paul's imprint. It's a bond that transcends the boundaries of time and space, forging a connection between two souls that can never be broken.
And as you walked surrounded by the whispering of the trees and the steady presence of Jacob by your side, you find yourself beginning to accept the truth of your newfound destiny. The road ahead may be filled with uncertainty, but with the unwavering support of your sister and the friendship of Jacob, you know that you'll face whatever challenges may come your way head-on.
As you, Bella, and Jacob step into Emily's cozy kitchen, the aroma of freshly baked muffins envelops you, a comforting contrast to the whirlwind of emotions swirling within. Emily's warm smile greets Jacob, her eyes alight with joy as she rushes forward to embrace him.
"Jacob, it's been too long!" Emily exclaims, her voice filled with genuine affection as she pulls back to look at him.
Jacob returns her embrace, offering a sheepish grin. "I know, Em. It's good to see you," he replies warmly.
Emily's gaze then shifts to you and Bella, her smile widening as she takes in your presence. "And who do we have here?" she asks, her tone friendly and inviting.
Jacob gestures towards you and Bella. "Emily, this is Y/N and Bella Swan," he introduces, a sense of pride evident in his voice. "They're new to town, and we thought I'd bring them by to meet you." He spoke referencing the pack as a whole. It was intriguing watching him operate now that you knew why he up and disappeared on you those weeks ago.
Emily's eyes widen with recognition as she looks at Bella. "Ah, the Swan sisters! Charlie's girls. Iâve heard a lot about you two," she remarks with a knowing nod. Then her gaze shifts to Bella, and her expression changes to one of surprise. "And you're the vampire girl, aren't you?"
Your heart nearly stops at Emily's words, the revelation hitting you like a sudden jolt. Vampire girl? You exchange a bewildered glance with Bella, who looks equally taken aback. Edward was a vampire? What next⊠mermaids?
"What? Bella? Vampires?" you stammer, your cheeks flushing with embarrassment as you struggle to comprehend Emily's words.
Bella's face turns crimson, her embarrassment palpable as she shoots you an apologetic glance. Her eyes told you that she would explain it all later. "Emily, I'm so sorry," she begins, her voice tinged with mortification. "Y/N, this is... um... kind of a long story."
As the truth about vampires and the supernatural world of Forks begins to unfold, you can't help but feel overwhelmed by the enormity of it all. But amidst the confusion and embarrassment, there's a sense of shared understanding that together you'll navigate the challenges that lie ahead. As the conversation continues in Emily's kitchen, laughter and chatter filling the air, the sound of approaching footsteps draws your attention. Sam, Paul, and Embry enter the room, their expressions relaxed and jovial as they exchange banter with Jacob.
"Hey, look who decided to join the party!" Jacob teases, a playful grin spreading across his face as he greets his packmates.
Sam chuckles, his eyes crinkling with amusement. "Couldn't stay away, could we?" he retorts, a hint of mischief in his voice as he exchanges friendly jabs with Jacob.
Paul's gaze finds yours amidst the commotion, a soft smile playing at the corners of his lips. "Y/N," he says, his voice gentle yet earnest as he steps forward, his eyes meeting yours with a depth of emotion that leaves you breathless.
"Paul," you reply, your voice barely above a whisper as you meet his gaze, a rush of anticipation coursing through you at the prospect of speaking with him alone.
Sensing the unspoken tension between you and Paul, Jacob steps forward with a knowing smile. "I'll leave you two to get to know each other," he says, his tone light yet meaningful as he gives you a subtle nod of encouragement.
As Jacob and the others retreat away from the kitchen to give you and Paul some privacy, you find yourselves alone in the midst of Emily's bustling kitchen. The air crackles with anticipation as Paul takes a step closer, his eyes searching yours with an intensity that sets your heart racing. "Y/N, I wanted to talk to you," Paul begins, his voice soft yet filled with determination as he gathers his thoughts. "About what happened earlier. About us. If thatâs okay with you."
You swallow hard, the weight of Paul's words hanging heavy in the air as you search for the right response. "Paul, I... I don't even know where to begin," you admit, your voice trembling with uncertainty as you struggle to find the words to express the whirlwind of emotions that threaten to overwhelm you completely.
But Paul reaches out, his hand finding yours with a gentle touch that sends a shiver down your spine. "We'll figure it out together, Y/N," he says, his voice filled with conviction. "Whatever happens, I'll always be here for you. I promise you that."
As you stand there, enveloped in the warmth of Paul's presence, a soft blush tinges your cheeks as you struggle to find the right words to express the swirl of emotions coursing through you. Your heart races with anticipation, your thoughts a jumble of uncertainty and longing. "This is all a lot," you murmur softly, your voice barely above a whisper as you meet his gaze with a shy smile. "But it's a good thing you're so... so handsome." You werenât sure where that surge of confidence came from, maybe it was the bond. But even you couldnât deny the sheer beauty of the man that stood before you. You feel a rush of exhilaration mixed with nervousness, unsure of how Paul will respond to your flirty compliment.
Paul's expression shifts, a mischievous twinkle dancing in his eyes as he leans in closer, his breath warm against your ear. "Is that your way of saying you think I'm cute, Y/N?" he teases, his voice low and husky.
You bite your lip, a playful glint in your eyes as you meet his gaze. "Maybe," you reply coyly, a hint of flirtatiousness creeping into your tone as you lean in closer to him. "You'll just have to stick around to find out."
As a smirk tugs at the corners of Paul's lips, his gaze intensifies, locking onto yours with a magnetic pull that leaves you breathless. You feel a surge of anticipation coursing through your veins as he leans in even closer, the air crackling with electricity between you.
"Oh, I intend to, pretty girl" Paul murmurs, his voice a low rumble that sends shivers ripping through your body. His words are filled with promise, his eyes sparkling with mischief as he closes the distance between you, his breath warm against your skin. âDonât you worry about that.â
A soft gasp escapes your lips as Paul's hand gently cups your cheek, his touch sending waves of warmth cascading through you. Your heart pounds in your chest as his lips brush against yours in a tantalizing whisper, a feather-light caress that ignites a fire deep within your soul.
"You're so beautiful, Y/N Swan," Paul whispers against your lips, his voice filled with sincerity and admiration. "I can't help but be drawn to you. Iâm forever yours pretty girl."
The sweetness of his words sends your heart soaring, a rush of euphoria washing over you as you lose yourself in the intoxicating embrace of his affection. In that moment, all doubts and fears melt away, leaving only the undeniable connection between you and Paul, a bond forged in the flames of desire and longing. And as you surrender to the irresistible pull of his embrace, you can't help but feel a sense of bliss wash over you. With Paul by your side, you know that the journey ahead will be filled with laughter, passion, and endless moments of pure, unadulterated love.

let's get in the back of your cop car, officer (charlie swan x coquette!reader)
heavily inspired by playing dangerous by lana del rey <33
cw: MDNI age gap (reader is a freshman in college and charlie is in his 40s), dubcon, p in v, dry humping, blowjob, unprotected sex (wrap it before u tap it..), cunnilingus, choking
authors note: this is my first ever fic! also sorry for the inconsistencies, english isn't my first language :( also lmao this was supposed to be a blurb but i got carried away đ
- your parents were away for a business trip which left you home alone during break. you always had the nasty habit of smoking, and being home alone it was an opportunity to smoke inside your house.
- as you were cooking dinner, you were smoking in your kitchen, using your stove top to light a cigarette.
- you lazily dragged the cigarette across your lips, inhaling the smoke as you sat on your kitchen countertop.
- as the night progressed, you washed the dishes and got ready for bed
- little did you know, you've accidentally left the stove on.
- 4:38am. âfuck.â you woke up disheveled in your pink silky night gown, coughing as smoke covered your walls, filling your lungs.
- crying as you run down your stairs, youâve realized what youâve done.
- shakily, you reach for the family phone by your paisley printed couch and started to dial the police department as guilt engulfs you.
- âforks police department!â an older man on the other side of the phone responds. you knew it was wrong. you knew it was insensitive. maybe you were just a girl but something about the rasp and the timbre in the policemanâs voice made your insides turn.
- later on, you were sitting on your porch, the cold washington rain dampening the steps you sit on, your hair wet, lips and eyes puffy as you cry from guilt.
- a car pulls up in your driveway as a tall dark figure approaches you
- âma'am you called, are you okay?â the same hoarse voice from the phone asks.
- you just start sobbing. you were guilty. youâve already damaged your parentsâ house.
- as the older man approaches you, he sits down at the porch with you to comfort you.
- as he sits down the smell of cigarettes and cheap perfume engulfs your senses.
- you look up at the police officer, he was even more attractive (and mature) than you imagined.
- this is wrong. you thought this isnât the right situation to whore around.
- âi-i didnât mean to do that officer..â you croak out, you started sobbing and he puts his arm around you
- âmy name is chief swan. would you wanna sit in the car as i question you?â he asks.
- you nod rapidly as you got up and walked towards the backseat of the car. "this is the right opportunity" your mind lingered.
- âso what caused the fire?â his voice reverberating inside the empty police car as he closes the car door.
- you admit what youâve done, stuttering and stuttering through tears.
- he just looks at you "oh poor you so alone and fragile." he thought after all you were just a girl and you didnât mean any of this
- âofficer is there anyway that you wouldnât press charges?â you looked at him with hungry and intent eyes.
- you felt pretty bare right now. in your light pink nighties. the way he was taller, bigger and had more authority than you do⊠oh you felt so weak, like a bunny waiting for its predator to attack.
- as messed up as it sounds, this made you feel very warm and fuzzy, his presence made you warm and fuzzy. the way his mustache sits on his face and how his messy brown hair stands up, he looks a little sleep deprived and tired, probably from his police job. heâs just a little older than your parents. just perfect, you thought to yourself.
- youâve never been attracted to a man his age but something about him being an authority figure made you insides turn in excitement, which made you yearn for more.
- âplease officer..â you plead as you get on your knees, very intent to seduce the older man.
- he groans at the sight of you. âno no, sweetie we canât-â he breathes out as he adjusts himself to try to hide the obvious tent in his pants.
- âofficer iâll be good i promise⊠just donât press any charges on meâŠâ you mumbled. itâs working you thought as your manicured hands fumble with his silver belt buckle
- âoh my sweet sweet girl.â he groans as he cups your sweet face as his thumb plays with your pink plush lips as he inserts his digits in your mouth making you moan around his fingers.
- âi shouldnât be doing this.â charlie thought to himself
- you adjust yourself from kneeling, the roughness of the police carâs floormat bruising and ever so slightly scraping your delicate knees
- you use your teeth to unzip his pants as your eyes never leaved his, his hands cupping your face as he tucks your hair away.
- as you palm him through his boxers, wetness pools in your floral underwear.
- eager for some friction, you decided to use your fingers to press on your clothed cunt.
- as you fumble on his waistband, his cock still soft you whimper at the sight of his size.
- oh poor man.. you thought he was probably so pent up, no one probably took care of his sexual needs :(
- you start kissing on his cock sweetly as you look up at him..
- oh the way he stares down at you makes you feel inferior, you moan at the thought.
- slowly, you put his cock in your mouth.
- starting slow⊠going deeper and deeper you grow desperate for pleasure of your own
- he groans at the sight of you⊠so cockdrunk.. so needy for him.. itâs been years since someone wanted him this bad.
- âyouâre such a good girl for me.â charlie manages to groan out, he holds you by your throat forcing you to look up
- picking up the pace, you moan and gag around his length sending him over the edge.
- he notices you yearn for attention down there :( so he signals you to stop and he instructs you to straddle him.
- with his cock out, you straddle him, kissing him hungrily as your clothed cunt pressed against his bare girth.
- as you took in his tongue, the taste of gas station coffee and cigarettes intertwined with your saliva.
- he eventually starts creeping his calloused hands to your ass, squeezing and kneading the soft flesh as he rides your nightie up making you whimper and soften into his touch.
- as he finds his rough hands up and down your body, he fondles with your breasts, nipples erect from the cold washington breeze, the straps of your nightgown falling to the side as he takes your tits out to look at them.
- oh they were so perky and so soft. he made his way down with his mouth, lapping at your soft skin, eventually finding his tongue wrapped around your sensitive nipple.
- you throw your head back moaning at the pleasure he gave you, rocking back and forth slowly finding some friction as your baby pink painted nails dug crescents into his shoulder.
- he reaches down, to lift the skirt of your nightie, reaching down to your panty clad cunt, taking his thumb and firmly tracing circles on your clit.
- you elicit a moan and collapse into him, his big strong arms supporting you as you reach your high.
- suddenly you felt brave, you pull your panties to the side and you sink down to him.
- ân-no sweetie we canât-â he whimpers out as you lower into him, as he throws his head back.
- âplease officer let me be good.. let me be a good girl..â you cry out in desperation for some relief.
- you just sat there, letting your tight cunt adjust around his big cock your as he wraps his big strong arms around you.
- âbaby.. your cunt is so tight.. fuckââ he pants out while looking at your beautiful face.
- you werenât that experienced per se⊠only being a freshman in college, having one night stands with guys your age that you barely even know who treat you with only lust no love, but with chief swan, it felt intimate and romantic. the way he holds you and kisses you made you melt into his arms. it made you feel like you were cared for.
- slowly but surely you went up and down, savoring his length, youâve never had someone this.. big and girthy (and mature).
- charlie being on the older side, didnât have enough stamina, so you were using him like a dildo over bouncing up and down his cock as you looked at how his face was painted with pleasure.
- he looks at you with so much lust and love in his eyes, he havenât had someone take care of him like this for years.
- he pressed his calloused thumb on your clit rubbing circles making you see stars.
- this was the most pleasure youâve received from a man.
- âsuch a good girl for me, taking my cock like this, donât worry i wonât give you charges princess, no one has to know. â he looks at you firmly.
- you shake uncontrollably. poor girl canât take all that cock inside of her :(
- you were making his pants all wet from your juices, all the mixed sensations of him nipping at your soft skin, his thumb pressed to your clit and his cock in you was enough to send you over the edge.
- âfuckfuckfuck-â you whimper out as you come undone on him, your cunt fluttering around his fat cock.
- âyouâre doing so good for me.â he says as he carries your waist up as he thrusts inside you and spills his cum inside of you.
- he quickly pulls out, pushing you to lay down on the car seat.
- chief swan got on his knees, pulls you panties to the side and started lapping at your freshly fucked cunt, his mustache tickling your clit as his mouth worked on you.
- you squeezed your legs together, pinning his head steady between your legs as he overstimulated you, as you squirm and pull on his hair.
- he suddenly knelt up, slapping his cock on your clothed cunt, rubbing it up and down your slit.
- your eyes roll back so far back it felt like you could see the back of your skull.
- âofficer please-â you moaned out, chest heaving. everything about him was intoxicating. you fucking in a police car only added to the thrill, the scent of sex and his cheap cologne filled your lungs.
- âplease what? use your words sweetheart.â he said between groans, as he held your chin with one hand so you could make eye contact with him.
- his thrusts became more erratic and his hips stuttered.
- âplease cum on my face officer..â you said embarrassed. you couldnât believe this filth was coming out your mouth.
- he knelt up, rapidly stroking his length as his seed painted your delicate face.
- meeting chief swan was definitely an experience.
happy fatherâs day to all my dilfs out there

Hi! How do you think Jasper would behave if his human girlfriend caught a cold or an influenza? đ
đ”đđđđđ đłđđđ
Jasper strokes the sweaty top of you head as you lie in his bed, bundled in layers of his jumpers and blankets. Your face is flushed from the heat but you still shiver. He looks on with worry at the still full glass of water on his bedroom side, only a sip having been taken to help swallow some pain killers for your splitting headache.
In other words, he hates this. His gift is torn between being a nuisance and his guiding saviour right now as he can feel every bit of your pain and discomfort. He knows when to help you, yes, when you need another blanket, or a hot meal, or something. But for the most part? He's powerless. Sat here and watching his mate in pain with no real way to help other that watching you sweat it out.
He climbs into beed with you, silent and watchful, as icy lips press themself to your forehead. It cools your burning fever down some and unconsciously your body chases that. Half asleep you shuffle towards him.
Jasper chuckles and takes the outermost layer of your blanket burrito into his arms as an almost faux cuddle. You whine, waking up a bit now, and try and undo some layers so he can hold you.
He tuts, making your stop, and gives a gentle "you gotta keep warm darlin'". You disagree, but manage to find a comprimise.
Bundled up in several blankets, you lay on top of Jasper. At this point he becomes one with the burrito. One day, youll laygh at this, but for now he's just hoping that the mint cologne he's wearing is helping you breathe a bit better.

The Cullens with a reader that REALLY loves to nap/sleep?
This was on my list of ones to do so thank you! And I hope you like it!
Edward:
He got really concerned for a while
There was a period of time, before he started stalking you at night of course, where you would go hours without responding to his texts
He got so anxious one day that he just showed up at your window to make sure you were alright
And you were asleep
Pretty much every time after that if he wanted to know where you were he knew that's what you were doing
When you start dating and he can come and go more freely he'll cuddle up next to you and just watch (creepy)
But then it gets to a point where he gets a bit scared
You guys are out and about and you mention that you're tired and just want to go home and sleep
Or instead of watching a movie with him you'll just drift off
Genuinely asks Carlisle if this is normal
He needs reassurance from both you and Carlisle that this is normal and that sleeping is just fun <3
Alice:
Before you two start dating, when you guys are still just friends, she finds it odd that you won't hang out with her
Like wdym you don't want to spend a whole Saturday shopping
Also finds it odd that you don't want to text or call all the time
She just straight up asks you tho
Almost doesn't believe you when you say it's because you're napping/sleeping
"Okay yeah I toootally believe that you sleep from 7 pm to 4 pm"
But it's true
When she eventually makes her own Edward-style trip to your house in the middle of the day and sees you sleeping she has no choice but to believe it
When you guys start dating she gets a little more annoyed
Like come on you are her partner dammit why are you sleeping all day?
She makes the mistake of waking you up one day
That doesn't go too well
She doesn't do that again
She gets a bit huffy when you sleep all day but just make it up to her by letting her drag you wherever she wants one day and you're good to go
Jasper:
Your relationship is slow to build
You start off only seeing each other in school
Then talking a little bit
Then hanging out at school
Then talking a little bit after
Then hanging out a little bit after
So he doesn't really question anything when you don't talk to him most of the time
He just thinks you don't want to move on to being that close yet
But once you guys start dating, that's when he notices it
For a while he thinks it's just him because he's so used to Alice literally always being there and ready to talk to him
But when he goes over to your house for the first time to hang out and you just take a nap
He puts the dots together
He doesn't mind one bit
He's quiet after all
I feel like he would appreciate the peace since his house is never quiet
And not to mention that he can feel the tranquil and calm emotions radiating from you
You bet your ass he is cuddling with you
He just likes to lay there and close his eyes
Rosalie:
She was pretty quick to notice tbh
I feel like she's one to pick up technology pretty quick
So she's a texter
And she notices that you go dark at like 4 pm every day only to respond again sometime in the middle of the night then stop again
She gets a little annoyed
She thinks you're ignoring her
She gets petty for like, a week
Won't acknowledge you in the hallway or answer your texts
It's only when you basically have a breakdown in front of her that she tells you why
And then you have another breakdown explaining that you're literally just sleeping
So then she feels bad
Cue a week of apology gifts
After that though she starts coming over to nap
Sleep sesh
She brings over a book or a movie to watch while you sleep next to her
She loves it
Like Jasper she loves the tranquility
Emmett:
He'd also notice pretty quick that something's up
Like wdym you don't want to go throw rocks at cars or whatever he does for fun
He would just take it as you being a whimp tho
"You don't want to hang cause you're scared of *insert random thing* right?"
You give in one time and go do something with him and he notices like an hour in that you are yawning like crazy and walking super slow
You explain that this is your regularly scheduled nap time and then it makes sense to him
Unfortunately tho he's not one to just lay around
Something's gonna have to change
Maybe one day dedicated to doing what he wants and then the rest you can sleep as much as you want
Compromise :)
Esme:
Honestly she's down
When you first come over she thinks she's prepared for anything humans would need but then you start drifting off at like 4 and she's like "oh"
Instantly is putting you in a room and telling everyone to be quiet
Is a little concerned but also she thinks it's cute
And it makes her lowkey miss being human and being able to take naps too
LOVES laying with you tho
Will grab a book and lay there with you for hours
Chill queen
Carlisle:
He's concerned
He can't help it
He sees people come in multiple times a day every day with similar symptoms and rarely do any of them have nothing wrong
Once he has learned the extent of your sleeping, he takes you to do some testing
Not even an at-home consultation
You are going into the clinic no ifs, ands, or buts
When he finds that there's nothing wrong though, he'll ease up
Just a little
Is still super concerned though
Will check up on you every once in a while when you're sleeping
He likes spending time with you though
His favorite thing is if you take a nap on the couch in his office
He loves just having you there while he does paperwork for the clinic
Vampire! Bella:
She remembers naps all too well
And she misses them too
Even though she loves being a vampire she does miss getting to rest and disappear from the world for a couple of hours
She will never ever wake you up
Unless there's like an emergency or something
Loves to chill
Again, would be content just reading a book or drawing while you're sleeping
Would like to cuddle too
She likes the warmth and the comfort
Might even convince someone in the Cullen house to buy a nice bed for when you come over (if she doesn't already have one)

TWILIGHT characters as love tropes
ft. carlise, esme, emmet, rosalie, edward, jasper, alice, jacob, seth, leah, paul, charlie, bella
a/n: with songs to each character
àŒ»âàŒș
‷ Carlisle Cullen - rich love

Carlisle is a very rich man which means he will spoil you a lot. Not only with expensive gifts but also with a lot of attention and affection.
Every time when he gets home from work, he welcomes you with a kiss and warm hug.
When he has a day off, he will cook with you (even tho he cannot eat it, it's just about the time he can spend with you) or you will lay on his lap with his hand stroking your hair and book in his other hand, reading to you.
Every Friday he will take you to a fancy restaurant and than for a slow walk around the nearest park.
On your birthday or on International Women's Day (or any other 'special' day) he will spoil you even more than on normal days. Expensive jewelry, perfumes, clothes, shoes,...
He will bring you flowers at least once every two weeks. And every July he will take you on vacation and you can choose where.
Lolita - Lana Del Rey
‷ Esme Cullen - falling in love fast

Esme is such a kind soul so it's no surprise that you two fell in love with each other fast.
She will take you on a date every Saturday. Mostly coffee dates are her favourite. The two of you can talk for hours while drinking delicious coffee.
She will also enjoy baking with you (even tho she cannot eat/taste them)
She has many polaroids with you on them or with the both of you on them and has them hang in her closet or the small table beside her bed.
She loves when you paint her nails and massage her legs and she will always return the favor.
She loves sunny days but because she's a vampire and her skin sparkle on the sun, she cannot go out where people can see her, BUT she can go somewhere private like meadow or forest where you two can be alone and on the sun!
Sofia - Clairo
‷ Emmett Cullen - he fell first and harder

Emmett was absolutely over the moon when you two started dating, because he knew from the start that you two are just meant to be.
He loves, loves, LOVES when you sit on his lap. He doesn't care if you are stroking his hair or doing make-up on him, he just want you in his lap, so he can embrace you with his big arms and muscular body.
He'll dance goofily around the bedroom with you to some catchy hip-hop songs he has found.
He loves cuddling with you especially when he can be the big spoon, because he likes how tiny you're compared to him.
Matching pyjamas and make polaroids in those pyjamas, which happens to be one of his favourite memory and polaroids.
He doesn't really like reading books but he always wants you to read to him, because he loves your voice.
She's Kinda Hot - 5 Seconds of Summer
‷ Rosalie Cullen/Hale - you fell first but she fell harder

Rosalie has trust issues and trauma because of her past so she wouldn't fall in love easily nor fast, but trust me when she does fall in love; she loves hard.
She loves having spa day with you which includes face masks, painting nails, shared warm bath and much more.
She will take you to the mail shopping almost every day and will buy you everything you look at.
She doesn't like much PDA but she will hold your hand in public but if she gets jealous, she will show the person she's jealous off who you belong to.
She doesn't show it to others just you, but she loves cuddles. She loves when you lay next to her, face to face so she can see your beautiful face.
She's also very protective over you, so if any guy or a girl makes you feel uncomfortable (or unsafe), tell her and she will make sure they won't approach you ever again.
Prey - The Neighbourhood
‷ Edward Cullen - first and only love

Edward waited so many years for you, but it was worth it because he finally got you.
He loves when you kiss his forehead even tho he has to lean down because of your height difference, it makes him feel safe. Still his favourite place to kiss you is on your lips.
Edward will write poets for you and about you on small piece of paper and then put them somewhere in your room where you will notice them like your closet or on your book, laptop, notebook, pillow,...and he will bring you your favorite flowers right after the previous ones he gave you have withered.
He will also write songs about you (or for you) and then play them to you on the piano. Which he absolutely loves because you sit right next to him and look at him with those beautiful eyes of yours full of love. Edward cannot read your mind but he can sure read your eyes, the small spark and the love in them when you look at him, he just loves it!
Loves cuddling with you, his favourite position is when you lay on his chest or when he's the big spoon, face to face or hugging you from behind.
He loves having deep talks with you and he'll tell you about his childhood or about the time he was born in.
Follow You - Imagine Dragons
‷ Jasper Cullen/Hale - unconditional love

Jasper can be sometimes insecure just as much as Edward, they even have similar reasons... Jasper is afraid of him hurting you, he's afraid that he won't be able to control himself around you, but your words of affirmation and gently touch will calm him down.
Jasper doesn't talk much, he rather listens and he loves listens to you. It doesn't matter what you are talking about, he just loves your voice.
He will take you for a horse ride because he loved it back when he was a human and because he was a cowboy, but you two will have to share the horse because he wants your arms around him.
At first he was a bit scared of cuddling with you (again because of his control) but soon as your hand went to his hair, he melted. Both of you realized how touch starved he's so now cuddling is an everyday thing.
Jasper is a gentleman like Edward or Carlisle so he will also bring you flowers every even week.
He'll read to you to make you fall asleep, because his smooth voice is like a lullaby to you. But if Jasper feels that you are anxious, he will calm you down with his gift and than talk to you what made you anxious, eventually he will cuddle you.
R U Mine? - Artic Monkeys
‷ Alice Cullen - any universe

Alice (because of her gift) always knew you were the one, her one and only true love. So when she first saw you, she couldn't help but babbling to her adoptive siblings all day how amazing you are and how she's already in love with you.
She'll go to the mail with you and make small fashion show with you in the cabins with all the cute outfits she found for you and you for her.
She's mostly the small spoon (sometimes she is the big spoon but depends on the situation) while cuddling because she loves when you hold her in your arms and stroke her back.
Outside, in front of other people, she will always hold your whole arm, not just palm.
If you have trouble falling asleep, she will gladly sing to you while stroking your hair.
She'll buy matching clothes, jewerly or nail polish, because she loves when you two match your outfits or other accesories.
i wanna be your girlfriend - girl in red
‷ Jacob Black - whatever it takes

Jacob is willing to do anything and everything for you, his imprint. He will kill for you, he will die for you, he will do just everything.
Jacob can be sometimes insecure because he isn't that rich like the Cullens and he thinks you deserve someone who will treat you like a queen, so once again he's willing to prove you that he's worthy of your love.
He'll make you a small wolf and your favourite flower out of wood and attached it into a bracelet, which he will eventually give you to your birthday.
He's also a big cuddle bug, because he's so warm will make you comfortable enough to fall asleep. He's most of the time the big spoon because he feels like he's protecting you but he doesn't mind to be the little spoon. Cuddling also leaves his scent on you so every vampire or shape-shifter (wolf) can smell who you belong to.
He'll take you on motorcycle rides. Also he will drop you at your school on his motorcycle and then he will pick you up. Also he'll let you ride on his back while he's in his wolf form.
Jacob doesn't like fancy restaurants, he prefers his or your bed with some snacks and movies, cuddling of course!
Galway Girl - Ed Sheeran
‷ Seth Clearwater - love at first sight

Seth hoped that he will met his imprint someday and he heard from the others how amazing the feeling is to imprint on someone, but no one really prepared him to him because when he first saw you, your beauty hit him like a brick. And he finally understood the feeling because all he could see was you...
Seth will make sure you are always in a good mood with him, either he could tell you some stupid joke or cheesy pick-up line.
He maybe look like a cute baby but don't let his cute face fool you because he won't hesitate to kill for you, so it makes him really protective over you.
In his wolf form he's like a big puppy but only to you and he loves giving you piggy back rides in his wolf form.
Cuddling really depends on his mood; if he's in good mood he will be the little spoon with his head placed on your lap; if he's in a bad mood (mostly when he's jealous) he'll be the big spoon to show others that he can protect you.
He loves baking with you but he's clueless so he will just stand there and watch you or mix some ingredients, often sneaks up a kiss on the cheek while baking.
Dandelions - Ruth B.
‷ Leah Clearwater - enemies to lovers

At first Leah hated the fact that she actually had a imprint, so she would try to stay away from you as much as possible and when she couldn't; she would have some nasty comments towards you, but it hurt her as hell when she saw how sad she made you or worst insecure.
She tried hard to stay away from you but she failed, miserably. She needed you, she needed to be with you, so she will explain everything to you same as she would apologize for her acting.
Very protective of you, anyone could just try and test her patience.
At first she wouldn't want you to be near her while she was in her wolf form because she was much bigger and stronger so she was afraid that she could hurt you, but she became a sucker for scratches behind her ear.
Seth will often tease his big sister because she's really soft when it comes to you, which makes Leah give Seth few playful slaps.
When it comes to cuddling, Leah is the big spoon because she has the urge to protect you and being the big spoon makes her feel like she's protecting you in you sleep.
Running With The Wolves - AURORA
‷ Paul Lahote - rough love

With the term 'rough love' i mean that Paul is passionate lover and is willing to do anything for his imprint, you.
Paul isn't very patient when it comes to people but you are an exception. Still he's aggressive when someone push his buttons but you are always here to drag him away and calm him down.
Just a single touch and Paul's full attention is on you. Which brings me to the fact that he turns into a puppy when you touch him, your touch is just to comforting.
He's the big spoon because he feels like he protects you and it makes his scent stay on you.
He can get jealous very easily, he trusts you but he doesn't trusts the others and he doesn't want any boys or girls too close to his imprint.
Loves everything you cook or bake and will always eat everything.
Overprotective, if any vampire even dare to touch you, he'll kill him.
Little Freak - Harry Styles
‷ Charlie Swan - old love

Charlie is old school but still a huge gentleman.
He will bring you flowers every time you had a bad day and some chocolates when you had a good day to make it even better.
He loves watching old movies or crime/detective movies with you, with his arm around your shoulder.
When he has day off, you two will go on a picnic date which always ends up with you laying on his chest while he's telling you some stories from work.
Every time you bring him a lunch into his police office, he will welcome you with a warm, thankful smile and thank you with a kiss on your cheek.
He will protect you even more than before, when he finds out that there are vampires and werewolfs (shape-shifters).
Burning Love - Elvis Presley
‷ Bella Swan - teenage love

Bella will be awkward and nervous when she first spoke to you, because you were just too beautiful to be real. But to her surprise she made you fall in love with her which made her so, so happy.
First attempts of trying to cuddle with her or just show her simple romantic affection were awkward because she was just to nervous, eventually she will warm up and feel more comfortable.
She find our that you touch calms her anxiety and nervousness so whenever she's nervous or anxious she will just hold your hand and squeeze it gently.
Charlie was very happy that his daughter found someone like you, which made Bella even more happy when she saw how you, the love of her life and her father get along.
Often having sleepovers at her house when Charlie has night shifts, which always leads to matching face masks and cuddles.
Kisses on the cheek are her favourite, because she can easily turn and give you small peck on your cheek and visa versa.
Electric Love - BĂRNSÂ

Winterâs bite

a/n: a drabble(?) for my ephemeral universe. hereâs the fic if you missed it.
summary: you were a thousand miles away from home but he still seemed to haunt you (takes place during new moon).
warning: typical ex stuff. angst? no smut, just Edward being Edward.
The knock at your front door pulls you from the trance your text book had you in, Itâs well past your bed time but it was imperative that you cram for the test you had that afternoon. You look to the clock ticking on your apricot living room wall to make sure you werenât lucid from lack of sleep but the time still read 4:00 AM.
You decide to ignore whoever was rapping at the door, with Nina at work you figured it wasnât wise for a lone, young woman to open the door for a stranger in the wee hours of the morning. Youâre ready to stuff your nose back in the pages of your book when the knocking begins again. You groan from your place on the couch, cell phone in hand just incase you needed to call 911.
You grab a knife from the kitchen, holding it tight in your hand as you creep towards the front door, blanket still hanging from your shoulders. When you finally look through the peep hole the knife falls from your hand and hits the floor with a clatter, you almost find yourself dialing Nina as you look upon the boy who ripped apart your heart with his fangs.
You have to step deeper into the living room for a moment, pinching yourself to make sure you werenât having a nightmare before finding your place at the peep hole again.
Edward Cullen was standing in front of your apartment.
He looked the same under the muted porch light, save for the dark circles under his topaz eyes, not that you expected a undead 17 year old to change in the months youâd been gone.
This was the last thing you were expecting (or wanted) on a boring Saturday night. Your hair was a mess and your pajamas were stained with the ice cream youâd just devoured but that was the last thing on your mind with the leech (as Embry would call them) in front of you. Your hand trembled slightly as you reached up to unlock the door.
The dry December air hit you as soon as you pulled the door open but you werenât sure if that was why a shiver ran down your body. Nobody said anything for a moment, you still werenât sure if this was a hallucination coming from a twisted part of your brain, so your words were uncharacteristically soft when you decided to speak.
âHow did you find me?â, Youâd never told Edward that youâd accepted the offer in California after your future plans of running away with the Cullenâs were destroyed. He has the decency to look sheepish when he answers, âYou were on your motherâs mind.â He doesnât have to explain that he meant he went poking around in her thoughts.
â..And what are you doing here?â He looks down at his dark boots then back to you, your expression hard and unwelcoming. âI canât stop thinking about how I treated you. I canâtâŠlive with the idea of you hurt because of my misdoings. I was wrong and Iâm so sorry, Y/N.â Youâre not sure what you were expecting but it wasnât that, even though it was the most Edward thing to do. But you werenât sure you even really knew him after the incident in the garage.
âI fight my.âŠvampiric nature as much as i can but it slipped out of me in that moment. I was cold and uncaring and you didnât deserve the real me- the monster.â You listen to Edward stoically from your place in the threshold. âI was horrible to you, using you for my own selfish gain after lying to you for months.â Your hand grips the door so hard you fear it might turn into dust, youâre blinking ferociously to keep the tears that threatened to spill at bay while he rambles on and on.
You hadnât entirely gotten over Edwardâs betrayal despite the months that passed, youâd decided to ignore the pain rather than confront it so Edward standing in front of you felt like ripping out fresh stitches.
It felt useless leaving Forks, you were so far from home that youâd assumed youâd be far from Edward or anything or anyone that would remind you of the brooding vampireâŠ.yet here he was.
Your lips form a line after Edwardâs finishes his long winded apology then looks at you expectantly. âWell, iâm glad you were able to clear your conscience-â You cut yourself off as you begin pulling the door closed, groaning when itâs stopped by a pale hand, your frustration growing when his words from the garage incident begin to swirl around in your head.
âNo..itâs so much more. IâŠlove her, iâve never felt this way about anyone before.â
If you werenât so prideful you mightâve started crying, instead you explode into anger. âEdward get the fuck away from my door-â You push at his chest and he gets the hint to back up, âWhat the fuck are you doing here anyway?!â, he looks at you incredulously now.
âI wanted to make amends-â You throw your hands up and he stops mid sentence, âNo, why are you in California, bothering me at four in the morning instead of in Forks with the girl you left me for?â
The wound was definitely still raw.
Edward looks away from you now, the light wind pushing his already mussed, bronze hair. You knew you could go in the house, you knew he wouldnât stop you from closing the door this time but for some unexplainable reason you wait for him to answer.
ââŠ.I- we had to leave. Itâs too dangerous for Bella with us there. She canât protect herself like you can.â You snort. Partly because the last time you ran into vampires that werenât the Cullenâs you almost became dinner, secondly because it was so ironic that they ended up leaving anyway after you practically begged Edward to join you out of state.
You shake your head, deciding not to voice either of those thoughts. Instead because some stupid, soft part of you still cared about Edward your next words slip from your lips, âAnd whereâs your family? Why arenât you with them?â Not that you actually cared.
âTheyâre in IthacaâŠiâm tracking Victoria.â You laugh lightly, earning a confused look from Edward. âYouâre a horrible a tracker.â Youâd learned this from the time youâd spent in the woods together.
âI knowâ Edward laughs but it sounds void of any happiness. Thereâs a long stretch of silence, Edward just stands there instead of leaving and youâre holding the door instead of going inside.
Your mind races with questions, the main one: did he ever really love you or he did he just keep you around? like a pet. But you wonât ask, refuse to actually and when his tawny eyes meet yours you remember that he can read minds and you never put your wall up.
He goes to speak but you point an accusatory finger at him, âStay out of my head and away from me.â When you slam the door this time thereâs no restrictions.
âY/N-â Edwardâs voice is barely muffled by the wooden door, âI did love you- Iâll always love youâŠ.you were one of my best friends.â Edward continues even though you donât respond, âI still think about your grandfathers song. I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me and we can be friends one day.â
You wipe at the tears threatening to spill out your eyes and walk back to your place on the couch. You donât bother looking out the peephole because knowing Edward he was already gone.

The Doctor's Wife đ | Carlisle Cullen Imagine
Set during the events of Twilight (2008)
Twilight Masterlist
Characters & Pairings: Carlisle Cullen x female!vampire!reader (romantic), Bella Swan x Edward Cullen, Edward Cullen x reader (platonic)
Content warnings: fluff, light angst, suggestive themes right at the end | female reader (she/her) | wc: 3.5k
requested đ„ yes/no
Premise: When Edward introduces Bella to his family after weeks of avoiding the inevitable, there was no telling how it was going to go down. Of course, what does one expect when they bring their girlfriend over for the first timeâŠ. except it's to a family of animal blood-sucking vampires who's lives each deserve a biography of their own. Bella felt the pressure of making a great impression, but the nerves seemed to heighten in regard to meeting the woman responsible for raising Edward throughout his undead life. The woman whose soul was bonded to none other than the Cullen patriarch.
--------------------------
Over a hundred years walking the Earth and Edward still experienced the universal feeling of cringe and embarrassment. This time, at the hands of none other than his family as he introduced him to the girl whoâd captured his undead heart and made it hard for Edward to stay away.Â
âAlright, um,â he swallowed, placing a gentle hand on Bellaâs back to nudge her in the direction of the staircase. Away from the prying eyes of his siblings and Carlisle after Alice had to say, âOh, you do smell good,â and Jasper was literally fighting for his life to keep it together. âWhereâs Y/n?â
âIn her studio,â Carlisle replied with a smile, the mention of his wife bringing a warmth to his chest. âSheâs working on a project and can definitely use a break. Sheâs been excited to meet Bella since you mentioned bringing her over.âÂ
Bella blushed, the nerves resurfacing at meeting another member of the Cullen family. The matriarch at that. Edwardâs adoptive mother and Carlisleâs wife.Â
âThanks,â Edward turned on his heel, leading Bella in the opposite direction. Mumbling a short goodbye, she followed the vampire down the corridor, past the staircase and a living space before stopping in front of a wooden door.Â
Before he knocked, Edward put a comforting hand on Bellaâs shoulder, âCalm down,â his teeth sparkled against the light, eyes teasing. âYour heartbeat is out of control.â
âSorry,â she flushed again, cursing at herself. She didnât understand why she was so nervous to meet Y/n. More so than the rest of his family. Maybe it was because Edward spoke so highly of her. Maybe it was because she saw the way Carlisle lit up at the mere mention of her name. Or how the townspeople praised Y/n, even if they only had one interaction.Â
Edward went to knock, but this time was interrupted by a voice calling out from the other side, âCome in!â Smiling, he pushed open the door, revealing a large room in what only could be described as an organized disarray.Â
Bellaâs jaw slightly dropped, taking in the scene before her. Eyes first darting to the high ceilings with a drop-down chandelier. Though it wasnât on, thanks to the natural light provided by the left side of the room with floor to ceiling windows where a wall shouldâve been. A beautiful, perfect view of the forest surrounding the home.Â
The walls were painted a rusted burnt red, the kind you see in art museums. Floors made of the finest dark wood, with one area covered by plastic reserved for protecting it by the paint cans laying on top, beside an easel holding a large canvas. A very large, vintage clock took the center of the wall connected to the window, surrounded by pieces ranging from old signs to shelves holding books and plants.Â
On the main wall parallel to the windows, a map of the world hung, flanked by art pieces. Portraits, landscape. Various mediums of pencil, oils, and acrylic. A phone straight from the 1930s mounted above a small table covered by messy stacks of paper. Bellaâs eyes drew to a woven basket that came probably to her waist, filled with pieces of rolled parchment. A few laid on the ground. A foot away from it was a cart holding art supplies.Â
Finally, Bellaâs gaze landed on the figure in the center of the room. Y/n sat on a wooden stool, her posture perfect, hand scribbling across a large piece of parchment placed on the wooden desk facing the windows. The desk was the type that propped up, a lamp attached to the corner, and side table. Something an artist or engineer invested in.Â
âI thought I heard the raging pump of a heartbeat approaching.â Bella squeezed her eyes shut in embarrassment, letting out a small groan. Opening them when she heard the skid of the stool against the floor.Â
âY/n,â Edward scolded, tone playful.Â
âApologies, I couldnât help myself,â Y/n chuckled, approaching the two with a wide smile. Bella held her breath, admiring the woman before her. Alice may have been the fashion girlie of the family, but there was no denying who she mustâve gotten it from.Â
Y/n made even the simplest of clothing look ethereal. White blouse tucked into beige trousers, brown belt with hints of gold, paired with stunning white heeled boots. The necklaces she wore were layered, the longest of which had several charms making them clink together, bracelets covering her wrists, three rings on each hand, and gold hoops. A multicolor scarf consisting of warm tones like red, orange, and yellow tied around her hair. Then of course, her eyes were melting gold.Â
She was the picture of an artist.Â
Upon closer inspection, Bella had to hold back a whistle at the ring reserved for her left ring finger. Carlisle sure had taste and made sure his lady got what she deserved. That was no ring. That was a rock.
âYou must be the famous Bella,â Y/nâs hand shot out, Bella hesitating a moment before taking it. Y/nâs handshake was soft yet firm at the same time. Bringing a chill to Bella as their skin met. âIt is truly a pleasure to meet you,â letting go of her hand, Y/n brought both of hers up to make a gesture. âI have been begging Edward to bring you around for weeks. I donât know why itâs taken him so long,â a playful glare was directed at him.Â
Edward rolled his eyes, then put an arm around Bella. âBella, this is Y/n. My mother for all intents and purposes. Artist, architect, and occasional therapist to all of us emotionally stunted immortal teenagers.â
âYou said it, not me,â Y/n smirked, hands raised again.Â
Bella laughed, comforted by Edwards touch as she regarded Y/n. âItâs really nice to meet you, Y/n. Edward talks about you all the time.â
âGood things, correct?â
âOf course,â Bella assured, nudging Edward who had scoffed. âHe mentioned you designed this house--itâs absolutely beautiful. And this--,â motioning to the space, Bella was again in awe of Y/nâs studio. Itâs like she was walking through an exhibit in the Louvre. âWow.â
âWhen I made the blueprints for this house, I wanted everyone to have a place--plus everyone was vocal about what they wanted,â she teases with a grin. âCarlisle has his study, Alice her closets, Rosalie wished for a garage, Jasper desired a library, Emmett a game room, Edward got his music room. And me,â a hand waves to the room with pride. âMy studio.â
Bella raised an intrigued brow, aimed at Edward, âyou have a music room?âÂ
Had he been human, Edward would have blushed. He brushed it off with a shrug, âYeah, itâs just where I keep a few instruments. Iâll show you as we go through the house.â
âA few,â Y/n lightly scoffed, earning a small glare from the boy.Â
âCarlisle said youâre working on a project,â he changed the subject, nudging his head toward the desk. Catching sight of the blueprints that were in the early draft stages.Â
âThe high school plans to renovate the library, so theyâve asked me to go over some plans and designs. They were pleased with my work for the gym last year.âÂ
Edward turns to Bella, âY/n has the magic touch for designing and constructing. And because weâve had the time to redo college over and over againâŠ.â They share a laugh, âsheâs got degrees in art, engineering, design, and business on top of her architecture education.â
The woman simply shrugs, âI like to keep busy. Who wouldn't want to take advantage of obtaining all the worldâs knowledge when you have eternity.â If she saw the pointed look Edward was giving her, Y/n ignored it.Â
âAnyway,â He sighed, returning his attention to Bella, âThe town comes to her for consultations. And, in most cases than often, she designs and oversees the build.â
âWow, thatâs amazing,â Bella awed, past Edwardâs shoulder she spotted the white construction worker's hat. Propped beside a coat hanger possessing a pair of overalls, scarves, and painters' boots. âDid you-,â her finger pointed to the display of artwork, âpaint all those?â
âSeveral, yes,â Y/n motioned them to follow her, moving closer to the wall. âThis one you might have guessed is the view of the forest from this room. The first one I did when we moved here. But not all are recent, some I did in the 90s--,â she pointed to a canvas framed with gold trimming near the top. Depicting an image of inside a medical tent, âThat one is from when I volunteered for the Army Nurses Corps.â
Bellaâs eyes bulged, glancing between Y/n and Edward. âYou--you served during the War?âÂ
Y/n nodded, expression now solemn, âFirst World War. We were living in Virginia at the time and therefore injured soldiers coming back from Europe docked at the bases there first. Carlisle was the trauma surgeon, and I was a nurse.â Her boots echoed against the wood as they strolled down. âWe stayed there the duration of the war before settling in ChicagoâŠ.â
âHow long before he wakes up?â
âNot long,â Carlisle kept his eyes on the unconscious boy while his wife paced behind him. Had they been able to sweat they wouldâve been drenched. âThe venom transferred from his neck. The closest I could get to his heart--it should take less than a day.â
Y/n ran a hand through her neatly styled hair in distress. Theyâd only been in Chicago a few months. Arriving when the War ended and immediately joining the effort to combat the Spanish Influenza spreading through the population. With their current predicament, there was no way they could stay. Â
Ripping the nurses cap off, she asked, âWhatâs our next move then? We canât stay here. This city is an endless potluck of people, and we donât know how strong his urges will be,â she stopped pacing, coming beside her husband with a pleading gaze. âI know you said his parents are dead, but that doesn't mean he may not have family whoâll come looking for him. What kind of people are we to rip him from the ones who love him?â Upon the look she received, Y/n dropped her head, âUnless you mean to fake his death.âÂ
Carlisle placed a comforting hand on her shoulder, âThe boy had the influenza. They saw his condition--it was deteriorating. Theyâll believe it took him in the night and his body was sent to the incinerators. Just like the others.â
Y/n sniffed, eyes welling with unshed tears. âI know, butâŠâ she trailed off, âHeâs a kid, Carlisle. We agreed that when it came time for us to save someone from death, it would not mean robbing them of their life--.â
âHe was dying, Y/n,â his tone was firm, yet gentle. âI promised his mother weâd look after him.â Eyes flicker to Edward, then back to Y/n. While Carlisle hated himself for what heâd done, there was no going back now. âHeâs our responsibility now. Weâve to teach him the ways of this life and make sure he copes with it. Not succumb to the darkness like we did.âÂ
Another sound left her, Y/n taking a moment to process before nodding. âOkay,â she whispered, keeping her voice steady. âWe take this day-by-day.â
âDay-by-day.âÂ
âThatâs when EdwardâŠ.â Bella trailed, biting her lip when she realized it wasnât the best idea to bring it up. Yet, she was surprised both the vampires nodded, understanding her implication. Instead, she said, âHe mentioned youâve been with Carlisle the longestâŠ.â
Like earlier with the doctor, Y/n visibly brightened at each time his name was said. âWill be two hundred years this fall.â
âTwo--two hundred??â The human spluttered. Edward had failed to tell her that information. Only saying the two had been together long before Carlisle saved him.Â
Chuckling at Bellaâs reaction, Y/n tucked a piece of stray hair back in its place. âThe vampire who bit me didnât stick around. Abandoning me. A few days later of endless wonder and unable to control my newfound appetite, Carlisle found me.â Her smile was so wide, bright white teeth bouncing off light. âItâs been quite a life ever since.âÂ
They spent the next few minutes learning about the history of each painting. From the oil masterpiece of the New York Skyline to the charcoal portrait of Joan of Arc. Bella took time to admire the watercolor image of Carlisle. Donned in his white coat, hair and posture perfect.Â
âAh yes,â Y/n hummed, beaming up at the canvas. âMy personal favorite. Though Iâm a little biased given the muse of this piece happens to be the muse of my soul.âÂ
âStay still.â
âI am.âÂ
âNo, youâre not,â Y/n berated, dipping the brush back into the golden color before continuing to paint Carlisleâs hair. âI know this is time consuming, darling, but itâs not like you havenât done it before.âÂ
âIn my defense,â his hand raised, quickly putting it back in his lap when she groaned, âIâve never technically sat for a portrait. The ones from Volterra were done while I wasnât aware they were being painted.â A grimace took his features, remembering his time with the Volturi. âAro preferred moments to be captured as they were happening in real time.â
Y/n threw him a look, shaking her head in the process. âYeah, he seems like the type.âÂ
âFirst and last time he got to play model,â she laughed at the memory. âThanks to the creation of the camera I could develop a photograph and wallah!â her hands made a gesture, âA still image to use as reference. And now with cell phonesâŠ.I donât even have to put in the work to develop the photo. Itâs right there!â
Initially Bella found her reaction to a camera phone a little odd. But then remembered Y/n was a 200+ year old vampire and literally witnessed the development and advancement of technology.Â
âBut I donât always create,â Y/n winked, stopping in front of a stunning work of a lily pond. âSometimes I collect.â
Stepping closer, Bella inspected the art, finger on her lip as her brows furrowed in concentration. Sheâd seen it before. The familiarity of it was driving her brain into overdrive. Then it hit her, breath hitching, âIs thatâŠA Monet?â Her confirmation nod made Bella nearly choke on her saliva. âHow--?â
âBeing alive 226 years and getting the privilege of traveling anywhere means Iâve had the pleasure of meeting interesting people,â her smirk was the type a movie villain showed that made the audience fall in love with them and brush away the fact they were a villain. A captivating sight. âOne of those people happened to be Claude Monet during our time in France. Our shared love for art and nature brought a great friendship. I was actually with him when he painted this,â she casually said, aware of Bellaâs astonished reaction despite her eyes trained on the canvas. âUnfortunately, Carlisle and I left before I got to see him finish. After he died several of his paintings went to museums or auctioned off. I made sure to acquire this one--took me about three years to find.â
After a moment of gawking, Bella gathered herself and moved onto the next piece. It really felt like they were in an art museum. Soon they came to the end of the gallery.Â
âYouâre incredibly talented,â Bella praised, unable to take her attention off the marble sculpture enclosed in a glass case by the small bookshelf.Â
âThank you. Itâs nice to finally have someone to show this all too. Instead of just me admiring it daily.â Y/n put her hands in pockets, âNow I hate to kick you out, but if youâll excuse me, I have a deadline to beat,â Y/n led them to the door, âand Iâll let you get back to your tour of the house. It was lovely to meet you, Bella, and please donât be a stranger. Our door is always open for you.âÂ
âI really appreciate it,â Bella smiled, standing beside Edward in the doorway, âIt was great meeting you too.â A wave of a goodbye and promise to visit again, Y/n watched Edward escort his girlfriend up the staircase to the second floor. Leaning against the side, Y/n touched a finger to her lips, not bothering to hide the giant grin surfacing.Â
âI know that look.â
Despite speaking after Bella and Edward disappeared, Y/n felt Carlisleâs presence the second he breached the corridor. Not to mention the tingling sensation at the base of her spine.Â
Slowly turning to face him, her smile widened, and Carlisle saw the way her golden hues sparkled when he approached. âAnd what exactly is that look?â
âThe one where youâre overcome with happiness unable to be measured with how much it consumes you.âÂ
Hands took hold of her shoulders, gently brushing down until they reached her own, Y/n leaning into his touch, voice teasing, âWhat mother would I be to not be overjoyed for her son and the wonderful girlfriend heâs brought home?âÂ
Carlisle chuckled, tilting his head down to place a kiss on her forehead. The floral aroma of her Marc Jacobs perfume amplified her already sweet scent. Oh, how addicted he was to her scent. It was like walking through a garden of the most beautiful flowers on Earth.Â
âYou didnât embarrass him, did you?â
Y/n rolled her eyes, tapping his chest to scold him, âNot much more than you lot. He was practically dragging Bella out of the kitchen.â Carlisle raised his hands in defense, making her raise a brow.
âThat was all the kids. Iâm innocent, my dear, you must believe me.âÂ
She tsked, âWell, at least you didnât scare the poor girl like Rosalie and Jasper. And as much as I love Aliceâs excitement, you might want to tell her to take it down a notch,â Y/n made a face, âI thought we all agreed last night not to bring up Bellaâs scent.â
She was met with a sigh, her sculptured-God of a husband dropping his head onto her shoulder in defeat. âWhat was I supposed to do? You left me to fend for myself.âÂ
Laughing, Y/n reached her arms around his shoulders, encasing him in an embrace to which he greatly accepted. âIâm sorry, my love. Will you forgive me? I promise to find you the finest stag in all of Washington for you to feast upon.â Instantly his head shot up, moving it so their noses brushed against each other.Â
âThatâll do.â Their lips met, igniting fireworks throughout their bodies as it always had for 200 years. Never once losing the feeling.Â
Theyâd seen everything in the course of their century's long life. Several wars. Epidemics. The fall of countries and rise of new ones. Medicine advancing, technology overtaking man. The race to space and the rebirth of the Olympic Games.Â
Met people whoâd changed the world. Witnessed humanity evolve--and sometimes wondered how the hell it could be so stupid. But overall, they were the stagnant figures in their plane of existence. Time moving, they remained still.
And yet, somehow, they were able to find a family after all.Â
When they pulled apart, their expressions of love remained. âGod,â she hummed, âThat never gets old.â
âJust like the first time?â He chafed, gold eyes glimmering.
Y/n pretending to think, lips pouting, âLess nervous,â a squeal escaped her at the feeling of his fingers tickling her ribcage. Shoving him away, the woman chided, âGet back to the hospital old man. There are patients to be seen, and I have a deadline to finish.â The gasp that left him made her grin.
âOld?! Iâll have you know that if Iâm old then that means you are---.â
âDonât you finish that sentence,â her finger pointed at his chest, âotherwise youâre sleeping on the couch.â Carlisle smirked, entering her personal space once again.Â
âI canât sleep. Neither can you.â
âDamn,â she exhaled, feigning defeat when really, she was becoming more invested with their little game. âYouâre right.â Then her eyes turned dark, sinister. Face consorting to a look that made Carlisle shudder.Â
A look heâd seen hundreds of times, and not once did not bring a chill to his already cold body. Enough to bring his heart back to life. Enough to send the frozen blood down to his spine.Â
âGuess weâll have to find another way to pass the time.âÂ

Can We Kill Her? (Jasper Whitlock x M! Vamp Reader)
This is a short thing I wrote before focusing on the next parts of Velvet Ring. It's not my best work (in my opinion), but it's fun. Hope you enjoy it!
Summary: Jasper really needs to be given an award for not killing the human, Bella Swan, for encroaching on what's his.
tags: jealous Jasper, petty Jasper, Edward is dumb, Bella bashing, The Cullens are no help, Rosalie is cool, Bella is obsessed with the wrong brother

Jasper's hands clenched into fists, the tension rippling through his body like a coiled spring ready to snap. His amber eyes burned with a dark intensity as he stood by the car, watching Bella Swan hover around you like a fucking mosquito. The human girl had no idea what kind of fire she was playing with, and Jasper wasnât sure how much longer he could keep his composure.
"Iâll kill her, I swear Iâll fucking kill her." he muttered under his breath, his Southern drawl sharper than usual, laced with venom. His eyes narrowed into slits as Bella smiled shyly up at you. This wasnât the first time, and it was becoming increasingly clear that she had no intention of giving up. She was delusional, Jasper thought. There was no other explanation for her behavior. The girl believed she had a chance with you. As if you would want an appetizer when you already had a whole ass buffet. (Rosalie was really rubbing off on the soldier; his confidence and bluntness even scared him sometimes.)
"Jasper," Talking about his 'twin', Rosalie wore a smug smirk, her perfectly manicured nails tapping against her arm as she leaned against the car, unbothered. "Sheâs not worth the effort. Do you really believe M/N would be unfateful, much less with her? I will kill him myself if that ever happens." Despite the playfulness in her words, Jasper knew she was being reassuring in her own way, showing that she cared about you both.
Alice, who usually would intervene whenever someone bad mouthed the human, remained silent. Her eyes were fixed on Bella, a rare flicker of disapproval crossing her face. The future she had seen didnât include Bella vying for your affections, and it unnerved her to no end. But, honestly, whatever included Bella Swan was irritating in itself.
Edward, on the other hand, stood like a statue, glowering. He was seethingâhis plan to play the hero had spectacularly backfired. Saving Bella from being crushed by that van hadnât worked as heâd hoped. Instead of falling into his arms, Bella had transferred all her admiration, her obsession, onto you. This caused quite a rift in your non-existent relationship: it wasn't your fault Bella thought you were better than him, that just spoke to how Edward should change himself to attract a mate.
"Bella, stop." Your voice caused the rest of the Cullen siblings to look in your direction. "I tried to be nice, but perhaps I need to be blunt. I don't like you that way. However, you know who does?âEdward. My obnoxious, melodramatic..."
âIs he really trying to be a wingman while insulting you, Edward?â Emmettâs booming voice interrupted with a chuckle, and he shot you a grin, clearly amused by the unexpected turn of events. âDamn, thatâs harsh, but at least heâs being honest.â
âEmmett, shut up!â Edwardâs hiss was sharp, his patience fraying by the second.
Bella looked at you as if you just revealed you killed her father; face downcast, eyes brimming with tears. You didn't like it one bit. It was as if she didn't listen to what you were saying. Was she deaf?âwhy did God curse him with these good looks and personality? "Okay, look. I'm sorry, but I had to get that out there. I hope you take my advice, though. Perhaps a dinner at our house might help you see Edward in a new light."
At your words, Bella's mood visibly brightened. Now it was up to your brother Edward to do the rest. Leaving the human standing there, you returned to your siblings, who all had a range of angry, amused, and jealous expressions. But none mattered more than Jasper, whose fury made you feel gooey inside. "Babe," you whispered, "Don't give me that face. I'm just helping Edward finally get his head out of his ass and make a move."
"Does that also include you being on that said date and fucking her because our dear virgin brother is scared? This is not helping, this is just pushing her delusion further." Jasper glared at you, crossing his arms so as not to allow you to wrap yourself around him.
"Jasper, I think you're overreactingâ"
"Really?! You know what. Fine, go play hero. But no sex for a month." You stood there, stunned, as the words sank in. A whole month? Jasper wasnât bluffing, and you knew it. His cold, distant gaze as he settled into the back seat made that abundantly clear. Emmettâs booming laughter only made it worse, the sound grating against your nerves.
âJasper, wait.â you called, but he didnât even turn his head. Instead, he closed the car door with a loud thud, shutting himself away in an impenetrable wall of silence.
âMan, heâs really pissed,â Emmett teased, giving you a friendly slap on the shoulder that nearly knocked you off balance. âA whole month, huh? Thatâs rough, dude. Shouldâve just told Bella to take a hike.â
âYeah, thanks for the advice, Emmett.â you muttered sarcastically, throwing him a dirty look as he continued to snicker. You didnât need his commentary right now, not when Jasperâs anger was already weighing so heavily on your chest.
You took a deep breath, pushing down the swirl of frustration and anxiety. There was no turning back now. This whole mess was your own doing, and the only way out was to see it through to the end. With a sigh, you opened the car door and slid into the driver's seat, casting a sideways glance at Jasper, who sat stiffly in the back, his arms crossed and his expression resolutely turned away.
The drive home was painfully silent. Jasper didnât say a word, didnât even look at you. His silence was worse than any argument, every second dragging out like an eternity. When you finally pulled up to the house, he got out of the car, slammed the door behind him, and headed inside without waiting for you.
Bella didn't waste time inviting herself to their home the next day. Edward picked her up, leaving you to deal with the tension between you and Jasper. The silent treatment from your husband was torture. You thrived off attention and affection, so even if it seemed exaggerated to others, you did feel like you were dying...again.
When Bella arrived, dressed in that blue dress that looked far too formal for a simple dinner, you felt your unease grow. Her eyes were glued to you the second she stepped through the door, blatantly forgetting about Edward, who was beside her, helping place her sweater on the coat rack. âBella,â you said, forcing a polite smile. âIâm glad you could make it.â
She smiled, a hopeful glimmer in her eyes as she stepped closer. âThanks for inviting me, M/N. Iâm really happy to be here.â
âOf course,â you replied, trying not to wince at the clear undertone in her words. She was still holding on to that fantasy, just as Jasper had feared. You needed to put an end to itâand quickly. "I hope Edward will continue with the house tour. After all, he's the most excited about your company."
Bella nodded furiously, but it was clear she was just agreeing with you for the sake of it. Sighing, you motioned for the couple to head to the kitchen where the rest of the Cullens were preparing dinner. Bella conversed amicably with Esme, who was all too eager to meet this human who managed to steal her son's heart, but Carlisle's greeting was clipped. It's clear who knew more about the current tension and disapproved of Edward's love interest.
"And finally, we have Jasper, M/N's fiance." Edward finished, sighing when Bella's face fell.
"But I thoughtâ"
"Well, you thought wrong." Jasper hissed, eyes narrowed at the human as he pushed himself from the corner of the room. He stood beside M/N, his hand wrapping around the slightly (taller/shorter) man.
"Jasper." Esme sternly said.
"No, I'm tired of watching how she throws herself at my soon-to-be husband. M/N has been pretty clear that he's not interested, yet Bella continues to push. Have some fucking respect for yourself."
"But you two are so young to be getting marriedâ" Was Bella's only response to Jasper's statement, causing half of the room to roll their eyes. Now it was just sad and pathetic.
"Bella, we've been together for some time now. Do you really believe we would be making such a decision if we weren't sure?" It was M/N who replied, snuggling the cold body of his husband. Oh, how he missed this. "Now, with that out of the way, I believe Edward would be thrilled to continue with the tour."

Every time I see a twilight or tvd long x reader fic I get excited and then the name is like
" the other Swan"
" the forgotten Gilbert"
" the secret Mikaelson"
take your ass back to Wattpad because that shit is LAZY.
No adoption mentioned either, which could create such a nice explanation and allow us POC readers to feel like we're not immediately excluded.
And the lack of racial/ethnic diversity, where is your imagination? You could literally craft an entire plot about how your mc has come to be involved with these characters and that's what you go with?
And the mc doesn't have to somehow be more powerful than every other powerful character like, they can just be strong and powerful enough to hold their own y'know?

Strange Obsession
Pairing: Edward Cullen x Reader Word Count: 1.8k words Prompt: Somnophilia Warnings: NSFW, smut, somnophilia (so dub/noncon themes), touching, no penetration, masturbation, panty stealing, Edward's a pervert but we knew that already... A/N: Yeah... Okay.
You look so peaceful.
Moonlight streams in through your curtains as Edward stands in the corner of your room. Your blankets, rustled by your rest, no longer cover your chest and sit, instead, around your waist. Your shirt is so thin, he could see the outline of your nipples through it.
And he can smell your sticky arousal from where he stands.
It's a little unnerving. Heâs been coming here for weeks, watching you sleep, listening to your dreams. And when you haven't quite fallen asleep yet, he can still hear your thoughts from the safety of the night outside.
Sometimes he even gets to hear your really intimate ones. He can see through your eyes, clouded in pleasure as you try to stifle your little sounds. He can see the images flashing behind your eyes as you plunge your fingers inside of yourself.
Sometimes even he makes an appearance in these thoughtsâa flash of his face or his hands behind your eyes. It's enough to make him keep coming.
He knows he shouldn't be doing thisâit's weird and perverted. He should turn around and leaveâat least in this new girl's apparent lack of thoughts, he had a valid obsession for coming back. It's a much more potent intrigue.
But there's something about you that draws him, something darker than whatever it is he's found in his heart for Bella Swan.
Your blood is not nearly as maddening. He can hear and see your thoughts clear as day. Your beauty is not so ordinary as Bellaâs, and more plainly seen. He's spent time talking to you, and you're not especially remarkable. And yetâŠ
When you begin to stir, he almost runs. But you don't wake.
The slightest sound slips from your lips, a sighâalmost a whimper, even. He watches as you turn onto your belly, your blankets slipping from your body and allowing him to feast on the sight of you.
You're bare beneath the oversized shirt you wear. The shirt has ridden up your back during your adjustment and he can see the bare curve of your ass in the gentle moonlight through the window. One of your legs is bent, meaning his view is only elevated to something even more scandalous.
Images of bare bodies, sweaty skin, grinding and gripping arise within your mind. He closes his eyes and takes a deep breath, a silent groan in his throat at the sounds of moans and whimpers fill every recess of your thoughts.
Edward doesn't necessarily intend to move forward, but he does. His feet take slow, impossibly silent steps toward you. He reaches out his hand at his side, his fingers flexing and unflexing as he longs to press his fingers to your skin. His fingertips are careful in their venture, brushing delicate flesh and feeling the warmth of your skin radiating off of you.
His eyes catch something peeking out from beneath your blanket and he sees a sliver of pink. Wordlessly, he reaches for it and wraps pale fingers around soft, pink panties. They're damp with what he has come to recognize as your arousal. He smells it in the halls of the school, he smells it when he stands outside of your window at night. It is uniquely you, and it's maddening.
He shuts his eyes and watches the movie in your mind, sensual images of pleasure making it harder for him to resist tangling his fingers in your underwear and bringing them to his nose.
He inhales the scent like honeyed roses, sighing longingly as he presses them closer. It smells sweet, this saccharine scent that fills his mind with nothing but youâmakes him grateful for the fact that no one else can hear the thoughts rushing through his head as an arousal he's not used to grows and grows in the pit of his stomach.
When you whimper again, he opens his eyes to see as you grind your hips shallowly into your mattress. Your thoughts are the same, if not more desperate. Your breaths are uneven, interrupted by tiny mewls. He watches as your growing need for pleasure rises within you until he thinks he won't be able to hold himself back any longer.
Edward almost doesn't realize it when his hand drops to his jeans, pulling down the zipper to relieve the hardness of his cock being restricted by the fabric. He stifles a groan when he glances down at himself, too stiff to be ignored as he finally, slowly, shamefully brings his hand to his cock and wraps it tightly around himself.
He's too far gone now. He knows he shouldn't be doing this, knows that it's wrong, that it's perverted. He should never have showed up in the first place.
But you're so peaceful now, even with the way you keen into your mattress and whine at the sinful thoughts in your head. He doesn't know why it's affecting him so deeply, why hearing your thoughts throughout the day, seeing you walk the halls, smelling you in the recesses of his mind makes him so adamant on being here. Even if it were all strictly innocent, he would still be here, watching you sleep watching you dream of pleasure.
He just wants to know what it's likeâŠto be here, with you, in you. His mind is riddled with it, dirtied with it. He wants so badly to have you.
He fists his cock with an unsympathetic hand, stroking and gripping, trying so hard to be done with such a sinful deed. He wishes you didn't exist. He wishes you were never born so that he wasn't standing here, fisting his cock over your half-naked body as he held your panties to his nose.
You continue to grind into your bed to no avail, your whines only deepening when you cannot tame your need.
He's only helping. At least, that's what he'll tell himself when this is all over.
He bends over you, moving closer as his fingertips trail your back again. A tiny hum tickles his ears as they travel farther down, over the dip of your back, over the curve of your bottom. Your hips become a little more eager.
He lets his hand fall between your thighs, and he cups your arousal with a frigid palm. Your hips jerk slightly, but you don't wake.
He pulls his hand away, staring at his palm now slick with your wetness. He brings it close, inhales deeply, lets out a shaky sigh as he lets the scent of you invade his senses.
Edward lays the back of his hand against the bed, securely beneath you as he presses a finger to your clit. He keeps it there, does nothing else. He's steady and still as a statue as he watches you grind against his hand, losing breath in your sleep as a new pressure to your clit adds the pleasure you were needing.
Your tiny sounds grow as you aid yourself in finding a release. He purses his lips to keep quiet as he wraps your panties around his cock and strokes.
Between your breathy whines and his sinful arousal, all thoughts of fleeing have left his mind. He focuses on the thoughts flashing through your head, the way you grind your hips into his hand as you rub your clit over his still finger. Your fingers grip the sheets, your mind reels.
Edward grips himself almost uncomfortably, fucking his fist to your thoughts and your scent and your squirming hips. He can hear the sounds in your head fuzzing, he can see the image becoming brighter as it almost renders itself white noise.
You breathe a moan, a legitimate moan that has him opening his eyes to see your face, half pressed into your pillow. Your eyes flick rapidly behind your eyelids, your brows furrowing in a distant concentration. Sweat is beginning to prick along your spine.
He's not going to be able to hold out much longerâwhich is good. Being here, doing this, it's a line he knows he should not have crossed. The sooner he can relieve himself of his perverted act, the sooner he can leave you be. Maybe this will be the last time he comes to you. Maybe after this, he will be satisfied enough not to feel the need to come back.
The softness of your panties around his cock is intoxicating. His hips buck into his hand, and he nearly forgets to stay quiet when a sigh falls out of him. He watches your face, enamored by you and your pleasure as you continue to use his hand to find what you so desperately crave.
Your sounds become a little louder, loud enough to mask any puffs of breath he might let escape as the pleasure swells in him.
When he cums, it's a shameful feeling that overcomes him as he continues to fuck his cock into your panties. He stains them with his release, grunting as he loses himself in the pleasure, in your thoughts, in the mewls of your budding ecstasy. It shocks his system and settles once more as a heavy sinking in the pit of his stomach.
He's catching his breath, a deeply subconscious action that he does not realize is taking place until he can hear his breaths in his own ears again. He holds it immediately, steadying his thoughts to try and steer away from the continued filth of yours.
His eyes are glued to you when you find your release. Your jaw drops to let out a surprised moan as you grind harder, slower into his hand. Your arms flex as you grip the sheets, pulling yourself up. The sight is something he will never forget. It will stay with him forever.
And that is how he knows this will not be the last time.
His thoughts are cut short when the white noise of your thoughts are abruptly stolen into something he recognizes as consciousness. In hardly a second, he's tucked back into his jeans and fled from your bedroom window. It's closed so swiftly and so silently that you have no time to even realize it was open to begin with.
You catch your breath, opening your eyes and glancing around you as you try to figure out what this light, airy feeling in your body is coming from. You glance down between your thighs, slick with an arousal you had not fallen asleep with. As you tap your clit experimentally, you're surprised to find its sensitivity.
How did you cum in your sleep?
You glance around once more, as if looking for clues before ultimately coming short. You clammer out of bed to clean yourself up, looking to go back to sleep as quickly as possible.
Edward stands outside of your window, your panties still gripped in his hand, still stained with your arousal and his cum. He shoves them into his pocket and lets out a silent breath.
He will be back.
