DURING THE SHOW
“Cologne! Is everyone having a good time so far?” Harry walked down the catwalk, looking around the room full of feather boas, heart shaped sunglasses and rainbow flags “I’m personally having a great time, it’s been about almost 4 years since I’ve toured in Europe and I’m having the most wonderful summer playing for you all” He said as he put his hand on his heart, making his fans look at him in awe.
“However, I tend to get homesick sometimes, you see, my wife has reached the final stage of her pregnancy so she’s not on the road with me unfortunately, she wanted to come but the bump is so big now it’s a bit uncomfy for her” a couple of his fans let out a sad sigh at his confession that didn’t fail to catch his attention “I know, I know, I miss her so much” and then the idea popped in his head “But what if I try calling her right now? Maybe she can show you her bump”
It’s safe to say that the arena erupted in screams and cheers, his fans getting excited over the chance of seeing YN, the woman their favorite artist was in love with and they’ve grown to love over the years. “Let’s see if she picks up, sometimes she takes long naps because she’s more tired than usual” He walked to the back of the stage where his assistant was ready to hand him his phone, with the device in hand, he tapped on his wife’s contact and called her, as smile on his face as he listened to his fans chant “YN, YN, YN”
“Okay looks like she’s not picking up” Harry told the audience after a few rings without any reply from his wife “She must be rest- Ohh there she is, hi darling!” He smiled widely when his wife’s face finally popped on the screen, her face bare of any makeup, looking gorgeous as usual.
“Hi H, aren’t you in the middle of a show right now? It’s all good?” She greeted with a small frown on her face, taken back by his sudden call. “Everything’s alright, honey, I was just wondering if you could show your bump to our friends here in Cologne” He said with a boyish look on his face, not ashamed of how much he loves showing his wife off.
“My bump? Mm’kay just give a second” She said as she flipped the camera around and adjusted her position so her bump was visible. “There it is! My baby is in there!” Harry almost yelled into the microphone, moving his phone around so the audience could catch a glimpse of his wife’s bump, smiling when it was shown on the big screen of the arena

9) a ship that isn't your OTP but that you enjoy
Gradually and steadily warming up to Sonelise :) while my thoughts about Sonic's plotline in '06 are still generally negative, the concept of a lonely, sad girl who has been conditioned to never emote meeting the embodiment of freedom and learning what it feels to live life as a normal girl is just very sweet. Elise herself is very kind and Sonic seems to like her enough :) they cute.
11) if you're a writer or artist, what fic or piece of art are you proud of making?
Remember and Let Go are still some of my favorite works in general :) the former for how fun it was to convey BD's mental manipulation of Shadow through HTML, and the latter for rewriting IDW #50 while striving to be respectful of the medium and concepts.
20) your very first fandom!
Harry Potter. Got into it at 5 years old with the first game for PC :P sadly I was too young to follow the Discourse when the books were coming out, lol.

I will do a post-show write up, but I think this sums it up the best. I asked my mom after the show which of the three that she has seen did she like the best (Harry, Niall, or Louis) and she said, “I think Louis. They are all very good. Niall really like the music and is very talented, Harry puts on a show, but Louis is all heart. You can tell he’s all heart.”
And like if that doesn’t explain Louis I don’t know what does.

Ok, a few notes on the Louis show.
I was in the VIP viewing area so I was right in front of where he came on. Security kicked EVERYONE out aside from press. Like Elie Goulding’s crew even had to move to the back of my section. His whole team (Matt and Mark managers) and people who look like they were in the BMG camp were there and behind me.
The way Louis walks with the absolute BDE energy is insane. Seeing it in person is just truly, truly unreal to witness. He truly is a wonderful person to just admire.
Josh runs around everywhere and sings as he is filming.
Krystal is shorter than I thought she would be!
People did the “woo woo woo” thing Harry does during his shows and the people from Elise’s crew were so so confused so I had to explain why that was happening. They found it odd (as did I.)
While Louis wasn’t overly chatty, he was so fucking amazing and had the crowd in the palm of his hand. Everyone was into him and basically him alone. I truly don’t know if anyone came specifically for another artist. (Speaking as an Oldie™️) who is Young Gravy and why is he a thing? He was disgusting.
Oli got stopped for trying to go backstage. My friend goes “what does he do?” And I explained his role and she found it amazing.
I love Louis so much. Bigger Than Me sounds so good live. It’s just going to get better.
They played Harry like 5 times before/during the sets.
I love him. I love him. I love him!
There was also a huge ad for his album on the screens as we were leaving!

Coachella was an opportunity for the general public and (mostly) non or casual fans to see Harry. These are the people who read the headlines, believe what they are told, and (probably) believe the womanizing het narrative they’ve been sold. But instead of playing it safe, instead of toeing the line, Harry didn’t play. He said rainbow sequin jumpsuit and gay cowboy fantasy with my initials on the ass. These people saw the Harry we have known for 10 plus years. The flamboyant, supportive, funny, talented, flamboyant, goober he is. I hope that at least a small percentage of these people will leave and go “that was gay. That wasn’t the dude I’ve been told about” and question the narrative they’re forced. He isn’t that, and I’m really glad Harry got to prance in front of 100,000 people and be the Harry we know and love. I hope everyone else catches on that HARRY is enough.

My #1 post of 2022
Harry having a pretentious music festival forced to sing and listed to “What Makes You Beautiful” a song and fan base that has been constantly disparaged and overlooked by music snobs and executives is probably the best and biggest flex ever.

Lisa Harris Interviewed by Elise Cooper
The Fallout Series
Lisa Harris
“The Fallout Series” by Lisa Harris currently has five books out, The Last Day, Survival, Hunted, Frequency, Deception, and Shattered, which will be out the end of this month.
The plot has the electric grid sabotaged, with technology suddenly no longer available.  No one in the small, west Texas town of Shadow Ridge knows what took down the power grid, or when it’s going to be back up, but everyone knows exactly where they were the moment it went down. And now, with no electricity, no internet, and no modern technology, the men, and women responsible for keeping the town safe are going to have to learn how to fight crime all over again. Each book has a different hero and heroine where they meet over some criminal activity.
Elise Cooper: How did you get the idea for the series?
Lisa Harris:  In the past I have written police procedurals.  I started thinking, with all this talk about the electrical grids, what happens if the grid goes down and how would it affect law enforcement. The police must go back to the old-fashioned way of policing where they cannot call for backup, have no DNA testing, and no forensics, basically no technology. Plus, the characters lost people they loved. All the books are centered around the McQuaid family, three brothers and two sisters.
EC:  Without technology it seems this generation would go nuts?
LH:  I depend on it.  I do everything from my phone.  I order items from Walmart and Amazon.  I call my children. For me, it would be horrible as a mother if I could not communicate with my children. We would miss this modern easiness.
EC:  Did the stories have a western feel?
LH:  Yes.  It takes place in West Texas so there were horses instead of cars. More like a contemporary western, like the series “Jericho” and “Longmire” mixed. People had weapons to protect themselves, their family, and their town.
EC:  How would you describe the hero, Jace McQuaid, from the book, Survival?
LH:  He was broken.  He did not want to step up to become law enforcement, but realizes that if the town did not come together, it would not survive. He is intense, protective, former military, and is used to being a leader so he stepped up to the plate.
EC:  How would you describe the female lead of Survival, Morgan?
LH:  This book takes place a year after the grid goes down. She is also broken because she lost her husband in the beginning of the incident. She supports Jace who interacts well with her son, Noah. Jace realizes he wants Noah and Morgan in his life.
EC:  In the next book, Hunted, you describe sex-trafficking?
LH:  Because all the towns were totally off the radar, in some ways, the criminals have the upper hand. Law enforcement must catch up.
EC: How would you describe Ava, the heroine in Hunted?
LH:  She steps into a role she is not prepared for, becoming a mother to her teenage sister, Josie. The relationship between the sisters have changed. She is spirited, smart, resourceful, and reserved.  Her job is to break codes, which she had to use to help find her sister who was taken by the sex-trafficking ring.
EC:  What was the role of Josie in the story?
LH:  She is argumentative, stubborn, a typical teenager who cannot communicate. She is having a hard time in this new situation and makes some bad choices.
EC:  How would you describe Levi McQuaid, the hero in Hunted?
LH:  Before the grid went down, he was in the police academy. He does not have the experience of his brother Jace. He is pushed into a situation where he had to grow. He was a classmate of Ava so this story became a friend to lover’s story.
EC:  Tess McQuaid, the heroine of Frequency?
LH:  She is the youngest of the siblings. She is an artist and now does some crime scene sketches.  She must grow up very fast. Tess is smart, resourceful, funny, determined, creative, an artsy type, and a free spirit.
EC:  How about the hero, Kellan?
LH:  He works for the Sherriff’s department in another town. He is strong, a fast learner, suspicious, protective, and stands up to a challenge. He sometimes ratches down a situation by using humor.
EC:  How would describe Rebecca, the heroine in Deception?
LH:  She is a Sherriff in yet another town, in New Mexico. She is very strong, guarded, vulnerable, yet anxious because of her depression, and loneliness.  I intentionally wanted to make sure there was a woman in law enforcement in this series and made sure that early on she puts her career over any relationship. She is not sure she can ever trust the hero, Sam.
EC:  How would you describe Sam McQuaid, the hero?
LH:  He was not very settled, loved adventure, and is a part of search and rescue. He also does not think about settling down until he meets Rebecca. He can be daring, stubborn, and brave.
EC:  Do they have a lot in common?
LH:  Yes. They are both fixers and have been affected by losing someone close.
EC:  What about the book coming out this month, Shattered?
LH: Book 5, Shattered, will go into more detail about the bad guys, The Realm. They were cyber-attack bandits from multi-countries. They are thugs, enjoy chaos, and are into drugs, guns, and sex trafficking. They use the criminals to get control of what they want. In the prequel at the very end Chase, the hero, left to do a prisoner transfer.  He has not come back and is missing.  His fiancé, Hope McQuaid is the doctor of the town and is optimistic they will be reunited.
EC:  How about the next book?
LH: In June there will be a new psychological series. Book 6 will come out in the fall, focused on the family.
THANK YOU!!

Final Cut News!
All right, so, by now most people are probably aware that we got a glut of new information about Disco Elysium: The Final Cut yesterday. However, so much content from so many sources can be a bit overwhelming, so I’m making a roundup of links to all the new articles, art, music, and videos I can find, highlighting the details that I personally find interesting.
(under a read more because this will be quite a long post!)
To start with, new official art of Harry and Kim has been released! This art was created by Anton Vill, who did the art for the in-game Thought Cabinet.
Tumblr media
ZA/UM's Head of Publishing, Mikk Metsniit, also posted art of Martinaise in the official Disco Elysium Discord. This art has been shared in lower quality before as part of a promotional image for the collector’s edition of Disco Elysium, which will include it as an “illustrated fabric map”. The file Metsniit posted is named “Martinaise Revitalization ‘48.″ In-universe, a design studio previously made an attempt to restore Martinaise to its pre-war state, but ultimately failed. This piece appears to show the planned development of Martinaise--except it’s being swallowed up by the Pale. Fun!
Tumblr media
Along with the first piece of art come two new songs by British Sea Power, which will be featured in the final cut:
Advesperascit, named after the city in Vesper-Messina where Dolores Dei was crowned Innocence in-universe. Apparently the name is Latin and roughly translates to “evening comes”
Ignus Nilsen Waltz, named after a prominent communist figure in-universe.
I think these songs will likely be tied to the new political vision quests, which are four new questlines that are each associated with one of the game’s four political ideologies. More information about them, along with other details, can be found in the following articles and videos:
Disco Elysium - The Final Cut Is Like Going From A Black-And-White Movie To Color, article from GameSpot’s Phil Hornshaw. In this article, voice over director Jim Ashilevi talks about adding full voice acting to the game and says that The Final Cut will feature 59 voice actors from countries around the world, chosen to reflect the backgrounds of Revachol’s diverse inhabitants. Lead artist Kaspar Tamsalu speaks about the political vision quests, saying that they will allow the player to meet new characters, learn more about the existing ones, and dive deeper into the politics, secrets, and history of Elysium. Tamsalu also says that The Final Cut will add the ability to fast travel and include Twitch integration, allowing stream viewers to vote on streamers’ decisions and even influence the build of the protagonist.
Biggest Changes In Disco Elysium - The Final Cut, video from GameSpot’s Phil Hornshaw, accompanies the above article. This is a fairly short overview of The Final Cut’s new features as detailed in GameSpot’s article. It includes samples of new voice acting, clips of new animations from the end of the game involving the protagonist and his coworkers (1:47, 2:05), a scene showing a new area added by one of the political vision quests (1:57), and a particularly funny voiced line from Kim (3:22)
‘Disco Elysium: The Final Cut’ comes out March 30. Here’s what’s new.  Article from The Washington Post’s Elise Favis. Includes more details about the political vision quests. According to developer Kaspar Tamsalu, these quests may be started after one in-game day, and are mutually exclusive so that only one may be completed in each playthrough. Jim Ashilevi talks more about the challenge of recording all of the game’s dialogue--more than one million words in total--without outsourcing the work to other studios. Ashilevi also says that he sees ZA/UM as an “art collective”, and “compares his team to the Wu-Tang Clan, in that each person has other creative endeavors, both personal and professional, outside of creating video games.”
Disco Elysium: The Final Cut even gives your horrific necktie a voice. Very brief article from PCGamer’s Fraser Brown. Not much new information in this article, but there is one interesting tidbit: apparently the Horrific Necktie’s voice will be provided by Mikee Goodman, who is one of the game’s voice over directors. Goodman also provides the voices of the Ancient Reptilian Brain, the Limbic System, and several other characters.
Disco Elysium is getting even more political, a long article from PC Gamer’s Fraser Brown. Lead writer Helen Hindpere talks more about the political vision quests, which she says ZA/UM was inspired to add based on fans’ enthusiastic reception of the game’s existing political themes. Hindpere says that the new quests can change the game’s map itself, allowing the protagonist to leave his own mark on the district of Martinaise. The quests will also allow for deeper and more serious exploration of the protagonist’s political views, which were often taken to humorous extremes in the original game. Each quest is different, with some being more wordy and some more visual. The Ultraliberal quest will allow the player to “build a personal brand”, while the communist quest “inspires you to begin a movement”. One quest also adds a new urban location to the game, which Hindpere says reminds her of Berlin. The quests don’t just revolve around a single topic, though; according to Hindpere, "You'll be talking about love, sexuality, hope, ambition, and even about certain geological features specific to our worldbuilding. There's an opportunity to get close and intimate with characters who have thus far seemed unapproachable. Let's say that once you share the same ideology many barriers disappear, allowing you see a different side of many important characters." There will also be a significant amount of new dialogue with Kim Kitsuragi related to these quests.
Disco Elysium PS5 Gameplay - 5 Things You Need To Know, fairly long video from PlayStation Access’ Ash Millman. This video provides some basic information about the game’s premise for new players and shows what the game will look like on PlayStation 5, with a user interface redesigned for the console. The video also includes clips throughout that show some new content, presumably from the political vision quests. Three of these clips seems to be connected: in the first of them, wires are shown that run from the battery of the protagonist’s crashed car to radio equipment set up on and around the statue in the center of Martinaise; in the second, Soona, the radiocomputer programmer from the church questline, can been seen climbing the statue itself to set up some more equipment; and in the third, Soona, Harry, and Kim stand near the modified statue, talking about attempting to contact the flying warship Archer via radio. There are also two other clips: in one, the statue has been splashed with multicolored paints, while in the other the protagonist is seen talking to Idiot Doom Spiral, a local drunk, about hiring him for an unspecified job. Millman also talks about the three different settings that will be available for the game’s voice over: “Classic Mode” will play the same as the original game, with only a few lines voiced, while “Psychological Mode” will provide voice acting for all characters except the protagonist’s internal monologue and skills. The last option, “Fully Voiced Mode” is, well, exactly what it sounds like. There’s also a brief clip that provides a sample of the Horrific Necktie’s new voice (1:26).
DISCO ELYSIUM - The Final Cut (Cuno Voice Example), YouTube video shared by developer Mikk Metsniit. Video is age-restricted. This video includes new voice samples for Cuno, a few of the skills, and Kim. Due to COVID-19, Cuno’s original voice actor, Dot Major, was unable to return, so Cuno is now voiced by Oli Dabiri. Lenval Brown, the narrator of the English language trailers, acts as the game’s general narrator and voice of all 24 skills. Jullian Champenois remains as Kim.

The Life I’m In by Sharon G. Flake Scholastic Inc
My feet are heavy as stones when I walk up the block wondering why I can’t find my old self.
In The Skin I’m In, readers saw into the life of Maleeka Madison, a teen who suffered from the ridicule she received because of her dark skin color. For decades fans have wanted to know the fate of the bully who made Maleeka’s life miserable, Char.
Now in Sharon Flake’s latest and unflinching novel, The Life I’m In, we follow Charlese Jones, who, with her raw, blistering voice speaks the truths many girls face, offering insight to some of the causes and conditions that make a bully. Turned out of the only home she has known, Char boards a bus to nowhere where she is lured into the dangerous web of human trafficking. Much is revealed behind the complex system of men who take advantage of vulnerable teens in the underbelly of society. While Char might be frightened, she remains strong and determined to bring herself and her fellow victims out of the dark and back into the light, reminding us why compassion is a powerful cure to the ills of the world.
Sharon Flake’s bestselling, Coretta Scott King Award-winning novel The Skin I’m In was a game changer when it was first published more than twenty years ago. It redefined young adult literature by presenting characters, voices, and real-world experiences that had not been fully seen. Now Flake offers readers another timely and radical story of a girl on the brink and how her choices will lead her to either fall, or fly. — Cover image and summary via Goodreads
Happily Ever Afters by Elise Bryant Balzer + Bray
Sixteen-year-old Tessa Johnson has never felt like the protagonist in her own life. She’s rarely seen herself reflected in the pages of the romance novels she loves. The only place she’s a true leading lady is in her own writing—in the swoony love stories she shares only with Caroline, her best friend and #1 devoted reader.
When Tessa is accepted into the creative writing program of a prestigious art school, she’s excited to finally let her stories shine. But when she goes to her first workshop, the words are just…gone. Fortunately, Caroline has a solution: Tessa just needs to find some inspiration in a real-life love story of her own. And she’s ready with a list of romance novel-inspired steps to a happily ever after. Nico, the brooding artist who looks like he walked out of one of Tessa’s stories, is cast as the perfect Prince Charming.
But as Tessa checks each item off Caroline’s list, she gets further and further away from herself. She risks losing everything she cares about—including the surprising bond she develops with sweet Sam, who lives across the street. She’s well on her way to having her own real-life love story, but is it the one she wants, after all?
One of the Good Ones by Maika Moulite and Maritza Moulite Inkyard Press
ISN’T BEING HUMAN ENOUGH? When teen social activist and history buff Kezi Smith is killed under mysterious circumstances after attending a social justice rally, her devastated sister Happi and their family are left reeling in the aftermath. As Kezi becomes another immortalized victim in the fight against police brutality, Happi begins to question the idealized way her sister is remembered. Perfect. Angelic.
One of the good ones.
Even as the phrase rings wrong in her mind–why are only certain people deemed worthy to be missed?–Happi and her sister Genny embark on a journey to honor Kezi in their own way, using an heirloom copy of The Negro Motorist Green Book as their guide. But there’s a twist to Kezi’s story that no one could’ve ever expected–one that will change everything all over again.
Roman and Jewel by Dana L. Davis Inkyard Press
If Romeo and Juliet got the Hamilton treatment…who would play the leads? This vividly funny, honest, and charming romantic novel by Dana L. Davis is the story of a girl who thinks she has what it takes…and the world thinks so, too.
Jerzie Jhames will do anything to land the lead role in Broadway’s hottest new show, Roman and Jewel, a Romeo and Juliet inspired hip-hopera featuring a diverse cast and modern twists on the play. But her hopes are crushed when she learns mega-star Cinny won the lead…and Jerzie is her understudy.
Falling for male lead Zeppelin Reid is a terrible idea–especially once Jerzie learns Cinny wants him for herself. Star-crossed love always ends badly. But when a video of Jerzie and Zepp practicing goes viral and the entire world weighs in on who should play Jewel, Jerzie learns that while the price of fame is high, friendship, family, and love are priceless.
The Awakening of Malcom X by Ilyasah Shabazz & Tiffany D. Jackson Farrar, Straus and Giroux (Byr)
In Charlestown Prison, Malcolm Little struggles with the weight of his past. Plagued by nightmares, Malcolm drifts through days unsure of his future. Slowly, he befriends other prisoners and writes to his family. He reads all the books in the prison library, joins the debate team and the Nation of Islam. Malcolm grapples with race, politics, religion, and justice in the 1940s. And as his time in jail comes to an end, he begins to awaken — emerging from prison more than just Malcolm Little: Now, he is Malcolm X.
Here is an intimate look at Malcolm X’s young adult years. While this book chronologically follows X: A Novel, it can be read as a stand-alone historical novel that invites larger discussions on black power, prison reform, and civil rights.
When You Look Like Us by Pamela N. Harris HarperCollins
When you look like us—brown skin, brown eyes, black braids or fades—people think you’re trouble. No one looks twice at a missing black girl from the projects because she must’ve brought whatever happened to her upon herself. I, Jay Murphy, can admit that, for a minute, I thought my sister, Nicole, got too caught up with her boyfriend—a drug dealer—and his friends.
But she’s been gone too long now.
If I hadn’t hung up on her that night, she’d be spending time with our grandma. If I was a better brother, she’d be finishing senior year instead of being another name on a missing persons list. It’s time to step up and do what the Newport News police department won’t.

Chlorine Sky by Mahogany L. Browne Crown Books for Young Readers
She looks me hard in my eyes & my knees lock into tree trunks My eyes don’t dance like my heartbeat racing They stare straight back hot daggers. I remember things will never be the same. I remember things.
With gritty and heartbreaking honesty, Mahogany L. Browne delivers a novel-in-verse about broken promises, fast rumors, and when growing up means growing apart from your best friend.
The Meet-Cute Project by Rhiannon Richardson Simon & Schuster
Mia’s friends love rom-coms. Mia hates them. They’re silly, contrived, and not at all realistic. Besides, there are more important things to worry about—like how to handle living with her bridezilla sister, Sam, who’s never appreciated Mia, and surviving junior year juggling every school club offered and acing all of her classes.
So when Mia is tasked with finding a date to her sister’s wedding, her options are practically nonexistent.
Mia’s friends, however, have an idea. It’s a little crazy, a little out there, and a lot inspired by the movies they love that Mia begrudgingly watches too.
Mia just needs a meet-cute.
Concrete Rose (The Hate U Give, #0) by Angie Thomas Balzer + Bray
If there’s one thing seventeen-year-old Maverick Carter knows, it’s that a real man takes care of his family. As the son of a former gang legend, Mav does that the only way he knows how: dealing for the King Lords. With this money he can help his mom, who works two jobs while his dad’s in prison.
Life’s not perfect, but with a fly girlfriend and a cousin who always has his back, Mav’s got everything under control.
Until, that is, Maverick finds out he’s a father.
Suddenly he has a baby, Seven, who depends on him for everything. But it’s not so easy to sling dope, finish school, and raise a child. So when he’s offered the chance to go straight, he takes it. In a world where he’s expected to amount to nothing, maybe Mav can prove he’s different.
When King Lord blood runs through your veins, though, you can’t just walk away. Loyalty, revenge, and responsibility threaten to tear Mav apart, especially after the brutal murder of a loved one. He’ll have to figure out for himself what it really means to be a man.
Angel of Greenwood by Randi Pink Feiwel and Friends
Seventeen-year-old Isaiah Wilson is, on the surface, a town troublemaker, but is hiding that he is an avid reader and secret poet, never leaving home without his journal. A passionate follower of WEB. Du Bois, he believes that black people should rise up to claim their place as equals.
Sixteen-year-old Angel Hill is a loner, mostly disregarded by her peers as a goody-goody. Her father is dying, and her family’s financial situation is in turmoil. Also, as a loyal follower of Booker T. Washington, she believes, through education and tolerance, that black people should rise slowly and without forced conflict.
Though they’ve attended the same schools, Isaiah never noticed Angel as anything but a dorky, Bible toting church girl. Then their English teacher offers them a job on her mobile library, a three-wheel, two-seater bike. Angel can’t turn down the money and Isaiah is soon eager to be in such close quarters with Angel every afternoon.
But life changes on May 31, 1921 when a vicious white mob storms the community of Greenwood, leaving the town destroyed and thousands of residents displaced. Only then, Isaiah, Angel, and their peers realize who their real enemies are.

Thirty Talks Weird Love by Alessandra Narváez Varela Cinco Puntos Press
Out of nowhere, a lady comes up to Anamaría and says she’s her, from the future. But Anamaría’s thirteen, she knows better than to talk to some weirdo stranger. Girls need to be careful, especially in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico—it’s the 90’s and fear is overtaking her beloved city as cases of kidnapped girls and women become alarmingly common. This thirty-year-old “future” lady doesn’t seem to be dangerous but she won’t stop bothering her, switching between cheesy Hallmark advice about being kind to yourself, and some mysterious talk about saving a girl.
Anamaría definitely doesn’t need any saving, she’s doing just fine. She works hard at her strict, grade-obsessed middle school—so hard that she hardly gets any sleep; so hard that the stress makes her snap not just at mean girls but even her own (few) friends; so hard that when she does sleep she dreams about dying—but she just wants to do the best she can so she can grow up to be successful. Maybe Thirty’s right, maybe she’s not supposed to be so exhausted with her life, but how can she ask for help when her city is mourning the much bigger tragedy of its stolen girls?
This thought-provoking, moving verse novel will lead adult and young adult readers alike to vital discussions on important topics—like dealing with depression and how to recognize this in yourself and others—through the accessible voice of a thirteen-year-old girl.
Your Corner Dark by Desmond Hall Atheneum/Dlouhy

The second Frankie Green gets that scholarship letter, he has his ticket out of Jamaica.
The second his longtime crush, Leah, asks him on a date, he’s in trouble.
The second his father gets shot, suddenly nothing else matters.
And the second Frankie joins his uncle’s gang in exchange for paying for his father’s medical bills, there’s no going back…or is there?
As Frankie does things he never thought he’d be capable of, he’s forced to confront the truth of the family and future he was born into—and the ones he wants to build for himself.
Last Night at the Telegraph Club by Malinda Lo Dutton Books for Young Readers
“That book. It was about two women, and they fell in love with each other.” And then Lily asked the question that had taken root in her, that was even now unfurling its leaves and demanding to be shown the sun: “Have you ever heard of such a thing?”
Seventeen-year-old Lily Hu can’t remember exactly when the question took root, but the answer was in full bloom the moment she and Kathleen Miller walked under the flashing neon sign of a lesbian bar called the Telegraph Club.
America in 1954 is not a safe place for two girls to fall in love, especially not in Chinatown. Red-Scare paranoia threatens everyone, including Chinese Americans like Lily. With deportation looming over her father—despite his hard-won citizenship—Lily and Kath risk everything to let their love see the light of day.
If I Tell You the Truth by Jasmin Kaur HarperCollins
Told in prose, poetry, and illustration, this heartrending story weaves Kiran’s and Sahaara’s timelines together, showing a teenage Kiran and, later, her high school–aged daughter, Sahaara.
Kiran is a young Punjabi Sikh woman who becomes pregnant after being sexually assaulted by her fiancé’s brother. When her fiancé and family don’t believe her, she flees her home in India to Canada, where she plans to raise the child as a single mother. For Kiran, living undocumented means constant anxiety over finances, work, safety, and whether she’ll be deported back to the dangers that await her in Punjab.
Eighteen years later, Kiran’s daughter, Sahaara, is desperate to help her mother, who has been arrested and is facing deportation. In the aftermath, Kiran reveals the truth about Sahaara’s conception. Horrified, Sahaara encourages Kiran to speak out against the man who raped her—who’s now a popular political figure in Punjab. Sahaara must find the best way to support her mother while also dealing with the revelation about her parents.
We Free the Stars (Sands of Arawiya #2) by Hafsah Faizal Farrar, Straus and Giroux
The battle on Sharr is over. The dark forest has fallen. Altair may be captive, but Zafira, Nasir, and Kifah are bound for Sultan’s Keep, determined to finish the plan he set in motion: restoring the hearts of the Sisters of Old to the minarets of each caliphate, and finally returning magic to all of Arawiya. But they are low on resources and allies alike, and the kingdom teems with fear of the Lion of the Night’s return.
As the zumra plots to overthrow the kingdom’s darkest threat, Nasir fights to command the magic in his blood. He must learn to hone his power into a weapon, to wield not only against the Lion but against his father, trapped under the Lion’s control. Zafira battles a very different darkness festering in her through her bond with the Jawarat—a darkness that hums with voices, pushing her to the brink of her sanity and to the edge of a chaos she dare not unleash. In spite of the darkness enclosing ever faster, Nasir and Zafira find themselves falling into a love they can’t stand to lose…but time is running out to achieve their ends, and if order is to be restored, drastic sacrifices will have to be made.
Lush and striking, hopeful and devastating, We Free the Stars is the masterful conclusion to the Sands of Arawiya duology by New York Times–bestselling author Hafsah Faizal.

Written in Starlight (Woven in Moonlight #2) by Isabel Ibañez Page Street Kids
If the jungle wants you, it will have you…
Catalina Quiroga is a Condesa without a country. She’s lost the Inkasisa throne, the loyalty of her people, and her best friend. Banished to the perilous Yanu Jungle, Catalina knows her chances of survival are slim, but that won’t stop her from trying to escape. It’s her duty to reclaim the throne.
When Manuel, the son of her former general, rescues Catalina from a jaguar, a plan forms. Deep in the jungle, the city of gold is hidden, home to the fierce Illari people, who she could strike an alliance with.
But the elusive Illari are fighting a battle of their own—a mysterious blight is corrupting the jungle, laying waste to everything they hold dear. As a seer, Catalina should be able to help, but her ability to read the future in the stars is as feeble as her survival instincts. While searching for the Illari, Catalina must reckon with her duty and her heart to find her true calling, which could be the key to stopping the corruption before it destroys the jungle completely.
The Knockout by Sajni Patel Flux
If seventeen-year-old Kareena Thakkar is going to alienate herself from the entire Indian community, she might as well do it gloriously. She’s landed the chance of a lifetime, an invitation to the US Muay Thai Open, which could lead to a spot on the first-ever Olympic team. If only her sport wasn’t seen as something too rough for girls, something she’s afraid to share with anyone outside of her family. Despite pleasing her parents, exceling at school, and making plans to get her family out of debt, Kareena’s never felt quite Indian enough, and her training is only making it worse.
Which is inconvenient, since she’s starting to fall for Amit Patel, who just might be the world’s most perfect Indian. Admitting her feelings for Amit will cost Kareena more than just her pride–she’ll have to face his parents’ disapproval, battle her own insecurities, and remain focused for the big fight. Kareena’s bid for the Olympics could very well make history–if she has the courage to go for it.
Wings of Ebony (Wings of Ebony #1) by J. Elle Denene Millner Books/Simon Schuster Books for Young Readers
“Make a way out of no way” is just the way of life for Rue. But when her mother is shot dead on her doorstep, life for her and her younger sister changes forever. Rue’s taken from her neighborhood by the father she never knew, forced to leave her little sister behind, and whisked away to Ghizon—a hidden island of magic wielders.
Rue is the only half-god, half-human there, where leaders protect their magical powers at all costs and thrive on human suffering. Miserable and desperate to see her sister on the anniversary of their mother’s death, Rue breaks Ghizon’s sacred Do Not Leave Law and returns to Houston, only to discover that Black kids are being forced into crime and violence. And her sister, Tasha, is in danger of falling sway to the very forces that claimed their mother’s life.
Worse still, evidence mounts that the evil plaguing East Row is the same one that lurks in Ghizon—an evil that will stop at nothing until it has stolen everything from her and everyone she loves. Rue must embrace her true identity and wield the full magnitude of her ancestors’ power to save her neighborhood before the gods burn it to the ground.

triggers  (  these  are  all  the  triggers  as  they  appear  throughout  ,  they  will  be  tagged  accordingly  )  :  death  mention  ,  cancer  and  death  tw  ,  drug  mention  ,  sexual  assault  tw  ,  addiction  tw  ,  drugs  tw  ,  and  drug  mention
𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞.
the  first  time  warm  brown  eyes  peered  into  her  mothers  a  connection  was  formed  ,  the  eldest  daughter  to  what  would  soon  be  an  expansive  harvey  household  .  this  very  moment  would  be  the  catalyst  of  a  bond  that  formed  sutton  into  who  she  is  ,  though  i  am  getting  ahead  of  myself  .
sutton  harvey  grew  up  in  julian  california  a  town  that  carried  the  suffocating  small  town  feel  of  suburbia  despite  being  mere  minutes  outside of  the  hustle  and  bustle  of  los  angeles  .  though  it  should  be  mentioned  that  she  preferred  the  quiet  stillness  of  a  town  where  she  could  known  by  someone  for  something  .
her  parents  were  an  interesting  pair  .  her  mother  a  free  spirited  enigmatic  young  woman  who  believed  in  healing  through  love  and  nature  ,  and  her  father  a  struggling  mean  -  spirited  business  tycoon  always  looking  for  the  next  thing  he  could  exploit  .  but  despite  their  clashing  personalities  and  seemingly  opposite  morals  ,  they  were  in  love  ,  had  been  since  high  school  ,  and  they  balanced  each  other  out  almost  perfectly  .
but  as  it  turns  out  almost  perfect  wasn’t  good  enough  for her  father  ,  who  split  when  she  was  eight  ,  leaving  behind  sutton’s  heart  broken  mother  ,  and  five  kids  to  raise  alone  .
the  family  was  hardly  making  a  enough  to  survive  before  the  sudden  departure  of  her  father  ,  and  so  this  left  an  eight  -  year  -  old  sutton  to  step  up  to  the  plate  and  help  her  mother  ,  raising  her  siblings  while  her  mom  tried  to  find  steady  work  .
as  the  years  went  on  and  her  siblings  had  more  and  more  needs  things  only  got  more  difficult  .  trying  to  provide  for  five  children  on  one  paycheck  isn’t  exactly  the  easiest  thing  that  one  can  do  after  all  .
sutton  prayed  that  she’d  be  graced  with  the  same  mean  streak  that  her  father  had  ,  but  alas  she  was  gentle  at  heart  ,  similar  to  her  mother  an  enigmatic  personality  that  was  hard  to  pin  down  .
while  it  worked  in  her  benefit  with  most  people  ,  it  is  difficult  to  raise  children  without  practical  dreams  ,  something  sutton  had  never  been  a  fan  of  ,  there  were  times  when  this  became  a  point  of  contention  between  her  and  younger  sister  reece  ,  but  for  the  most  part  her  siblings  recognized  how  difficult  a  thing  their  sister  was  doing  .
𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐞.
DEATH MENTION  her  teenage  years  came  much  faster  than  she  anticipated  ,  and  while  life  had  been  mostly  smooth  sailing  in  her  eyes  ,  there  were  things  that  sutton  simply  wasn’t  prepared  for  .  the  loss  of  her  mother  was  one  of  them  .
CANCER & DEATH TW  unbeknownst  to  any  of  her  children ,  behind  the  scenes  sutton’s  mother  had  been  suffering  from  breast  cancer  ,  and  she’d  opted  out  of  getting  treatment  ,  something  they  couldn’t  afford  with  the  minimal  money  she  was  bringing  in  ,  and  instead  she  suffered  in  silence  so  they  would  have  a  chance  at  survival  .
everyone  ,  including  sutton  herself  ,  expected  her  to  break  .  the  bond  that  the  two  had  built  was  immeasurable  and  sutton  had  never  shown  the  ablitiy  to  be  grounded  before  .  her  and  her  mother  were  both  two  enigmas  perfectly  coexisting  ,  and  suddenly  it  was  up  to  sutton  to  figure  out  what  to  do  .
DRUGS & ALCOHOL TW   enter  sutton’s  aunt  ,  claire  ,  who  begrudgingly  left  her  life  in  las  vegas  to  come  and  watch  over  her  nieces  and  nephews  at  the  price  that  she  would  blow  most  of  the  money  the  received  on  drugs  and  alcohol  .
DRUG MENTION  there  wasn’t  a  day  sutton  could  remember  that  she  didn’t  come  home  to  her  aunt  passed  out  with  vodka  bottles  littering  the  floor  or  strung  out  on  coke  with  a  man  sutton  had  never  seen  before  on  their  couch  .
sutton’s  resilience  was  the  only  thing  that  kept  her  going  ,  she  shielded  her  siblings  from  as  much  as  she  could  ,  knowing  that  this  was  the  last  thing  they  needed  to  be  their  reality  ,  and  for  the  most  part  ,  it  worked  .
SEXUAL ASSAULT TW  then  came  another  decimating  blow  ,  on  a  day  like  any  other  sutton’s  aunt  for  once  sober  enough  to  drive  ,  pulled  sutton  out  of  school  early  and  took  her  home  .  and  what  seemed  like  an  out  of  character  behavior  for  aunt  to  exhibit  ,  became  crystal  clear  when  sutton  saw  the  man  waiting  for  her  on  the  couch  .
SEXUAUL ASSAULT TW  this  became  another  habit  of  her  aunt’s  ,  pulling  sutton  out  of  school  in  order  to  use  her  body  to  score  drugs  .  then  bringing  her  back  and  forcing  her  to  act  normal  ,  as  if  things  were  still  totally  fine  .
sutton  put  on  a  brave  face  for  her  siblings  ,  but  was  slowly  cracking  under  the  pressure  of  everything  that  seemed  to  be  perfectly  chipping  away  at  the  person  she  once  was  .
this  is  until  she  met  a  boy  ,  a  musician  with  a  similar  story  to  hers  ,  who  she  completely  connected  with  in  a  way  that  was  rivaled  only  by  her  mother  .  him  and  her  seemed  to  have  the  same  bleeding  wounds  that  could  only  be  healed  by  each  other  .
cue  nights  at  the  beach  ,  swapping  stories  ,  and  endless  road  trips  confined  to  their  little  bubble  of  bliss  .  he  fueled  the  artist  within  her  .  painting  upon  painting  of  the  way  he  made  her  feel  ,  how  his  music  moved  her  ,  for  once  the  world  didn’t  seem  so  cruel  .
but  of  course  ,  the  world  was  determined  to  prove  sutton  harvey  wrong  .  with  a  sudden  disappearance  of  both  her  first  love  and  her  aunt  ,  the  latter  of  which  ran  back  to  vegas  with  her  new  beau  ,  she’d  felt  abandoned  just  as  before  .  and  here  is  where  sutton  harvey  finally  cracked  .
𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐡.
she  and  her  siblings  moved  in  with  her  father  ,  who  living  a  more  lavish  and  childless  lifestyle  with  his  new  fiancée  in  san  diego  .  the  harvey  siblings  were  yet  again  tasked  with  raising  themselves  .
ADDICTION TW  with  her  siblings  growing  older  ,  and  sutton  having  mounds  of  unprocessed  trauma  ,  and  she  began  to  mix  with  the  wrong  crowd  .  finding  the  numbing  of  substances  felt  better  than  the  hollow  numbness  of  being  abandoned  by  every  person  she’d  ever  loved  .
art  and  school  alike  became  distant  priorities  as  she  spent  her  last  nights  as  a  senior  doing  ecstasy  on  the  beach  and  hooking  up  with  randoms  just  to  feel  alive  again  .
DRUGS TW after  just  barely  graduating  ,  sutton  spent  her  new  found  freedom  getting  high  ,  having  sex  ,  and  wasting  her  life  away  .  struggling  to  find  any  sense  of  self  in  everything  she’d  done  ,  her  entire  life  seemed  to  have  been  lived  for  other  people  .
this  only  made  her  further  spiral  ,  trying  to  convince  herself  that  even  though  this  was  having  a  negative  toll  on  her  ,  at  least  for  once  she  was  living  for  herself  .
DRUG MENTION  this  was  until  while  she  was  coming  down  from  an  immense  high  she  stumbled  upon  a  record  store  where  through  the  window  she  caught  a  small  glimpse  of  her  past  ,  of  the  person  she  used  to  be  ,  the  face  of  the  boy  who’d  up  and  left  all  those  years  ago  .
her  entire  world  seemed  to  collide  with  her  heart  at  that  very  moment  .  for  a  fleeting  moment  she  felt  like  the  girl  she  was  in  high  school  ,  full  of  life  ,  love  ,  and  most  importantly  art  .
𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.
after  this  near  encounter  with  her  past  self  ,  she  worked  heavily  on  getting  sober  .  and  has  now  been  clean  for  five  years  !!
after  her  first  year  of  getting  sober  she  worked  multiple  jobs  to  buy  a  small  studio  apartment  where  she  could  begin  painting  again  ,  and  even  made  strides  to  reconnect  with  her  father  and  her  siblings  whom  she’d  since  distanced  herself  from  .
soon  enough  she  became  an  art  contributor  for  the  local  museum  and  earns  her  income  between  hosting  small  art  galleries  on  the  pier  and  the  aforementioned  art  contributions  .
after  three  years  of  sobriety  ,  more  widely  recognized  art  ,  and  a  proper  relationship  with  her  father  ,  he  gifted  her  a  beach  house  where  she  spends  a  majority  of  her  time  .
what  started  as  one  cat  to  keep  her  company  turned  into  nine  because  if  there’s  one  thing  that  sutton  lacks  it’s  control  .
she  has  fully  embraced  the  person  she  was  and  the  person  she  aims  to  be  .  her  personality  is  a  direct  influence  on  who  her  mother  was  because  if  there’s  anyone  that  sutton  looks  up  into  in  life  ,  it’s  her  .  the  best  way  i  could  describe  her  personality  is  the  embodiment  of  the  quote  ,  “ i  could  never  be  the  main  character  . i  exist  solely  in  the  fevered  imaginations  of  sensitive  writer-directors  to  teach  broodingly  soulful  young  men  to  embrace  life  and  its  infinite  mysteries  .  ”

Author Meme
I was tagged by the gorgeousness that is @lettersbyelise
Author Name: tackytiger on AO3 and the Drarry Discord. tackytigerfic on here.
Fandoms You Write For: Harry Potter, Harry Potter, Harry Potter (Drarry is my OTP). I read a bit of Schitt's Creek fanfic and also the odd Grimmy bit.
Where You Post: AO3. I'm rubbish - I see other people being all creative and then I always want to do these off-the-cuff drabbles on here, but I haven't yet.
Most Popular One-Shot: If going by kudos, then it is Take You Made, my first ever Drarry fic, a little 4k-er about Draco hiding in a wardrobe and watching Harry wank. As you do.
Most Popular Multi-Chapter Story: I only have two, and one is currently an unrevealed fest piece so I can't mention it 😂😂 So it's Offer Up Our Hearts (Drarry, E, 24k), the piece I wrote for @hdtropes 2019. I do love that fic, I think it's unusual and interesting.
Favourite Story You Wrote: Is it terrible to say I like all my own fics?! Bearing in mind that I've only been writing for a few months so don't have many yet. I really love my Wireless fic Silverpoint (Drarry, E, 9k)- I think it's very evocative and has a dream-like, intimate quality that worked exactly as I wanted it to. And I'm very fond of the My Bloody Valentine fest fic I wrote, Call Me Friend, But Keep Me Closer (Neville/Harry, Drarry, M, 4k) which is a murky infidelity fic. I also have a currently unrevealed fest fic that I'm delighted with - it was a self-prompt and the fic I had been planning in my head for months.
Story You Were Nervous to Post: OH GOD all of them. I compare it to sending my children to school and standing watching to make sure other children aren't unkind to them in the yard. I just want everyone to like them (Yes I'm unrealistic. Yes I'm overly invested in people's opinions of me.) I'm always terrified sending them out into the world unsupervised. Maybe my Growing Neville fic The Gladdest Thing Under the Sun (Neville/Charlie, M, 1.5k) because I felt like I was figuring Neville out whereas with Drarry I've read so much I feel like I know them.
How Do You Choose Your Titles: I rely heavily on the old classics of quotes from songs or poems. Silverpoint is an artistic technique and it really reflected the mood of the piece. Offer Up Our Hearts is a quote from the fic itself. I dunno really, I'm a totally pretentious twat when it comes to titles. I love a good fancy-sounding one, or a literary reference.
Do You Outline: I fucking do not. One of my dearest fandom friends called me a pantser, and it's entirely accurate. Usually when I try to write a fic, I get some very vivid ideas for scenes that I want to include and then I just sit and write. I write linearly for the most part - start from the start and move through. I don't tend to do drafts as such either - by the time I'm writing I'm normally fairly happy with what comes out. But I am very jealous of orderly-brained people who can plan properly.
Complete: 12 published (of which I think 5 are drabbles for the Drarry Discord challenge). Plus I have three more written and submitted to fests but not posted/revealed yet.
In-Progress: 1 - my fic for Erised is a mere germ at the moment but I have my vivid scenes in my head! Such organisation. I can only write one thing at a time really.
Coming Soon/Not Yet Started: Original work! Which I'm starting in November.
Do You Accept Prompts: I mean, I absolutely would?? If anyone ever wants me to write something?? No one ever has though so maybe that tells me everything I need to know 😂😂😂
Upcoming Story You Are Most Excited to Write: Erised Erised Erised Erised!! I have what I think will make a lovely story if I can get it right. And fuck me but I'm excited about writing some original stuff. It may be a disaster but it'll be fun to try.
Tagging: I know loads of you have been tagged by Elise already but @shealwaysreads @dualwieldteacup @candybarrnerd @clemandben @buildyourwalls @nerdherderette I haven't seen you lot do this yet?

Do you agree the transition from Rob mentioning CR to Hull’s comments about an ex leaves it open that it might not be about her but meant to be read that way? Also using someone else to discuss Harry’s “relationship” which would be wrong of such a good friend if said relationship was real and affected him that much. I would love to have artists rely on their talent and not some continuous narratives to cater to everyone. A lot to be said about authenticity!
I agree.
The elision from Rob writing about Camille, to Kid Harpoon talking about Harry’s “ex-girlfriend” who bought him and his entire family slippers, is meant to imply Camille, but reading carefully in the text, nowhere is Camille’s name used, and Harry has clearly not mentioned being cut up about Camille. Imo they’re talking about someone else, not her.
Harry’s team has a way of throwing relationship implications around, like any seasoned Hollywood player. Makes for a good story, some talking points. It’s great if you believe Harry Styles allows intimate stories about him to be published like that. Sells records though!

Now the Sons Look For Their Fathers/ But Their Fathers Are All Gone - Straight_Outta_Hobbiton, AO3
Link: Here!!
Rating: T
Favorite Quote(s): Canon-typical Jim is canon typical
“Jim, of course,” Pike says. “Boy kept his mouth shut for all of five minutes. ‘Bones has got kids!’— like there weren’t more important things to talk about. How many are there, again?”
“Forty-five, counting the older ones.”
I just really enjoyed the way this was explained
“Your lover does not suit you.”
Spock doesn’t twitch when T’Pring appears beside him, looking as unruffled as anyone talking about their spouse’s mistress.
“How so?” he asks, eyes trained on where Uhura is speaking quietly with a handful of Vulcan elders.
“She is not Human enough.” T’Pring glances at him, waiting for a reaction he refuses to give her. “We are not compatible because I refuse to demand anything of you, preferring to take what I need from my own lovers. If a romantic relationship is to be successful for you, you must take on someone who will demand something of you besides what is expected.”
Yeah basically, I'm not even a mom and I do it
Leonard wanders away, still muttering to himself as he makes his way towards the staircase, leaving Jim behind without so much as a goodbye.
Is this what it is, to be friends with parents?
This is just, nice is all
Leonard was worried, had been from the moment he’d realized that yes, he was taking these kids home with him, and yes, he was attached. But seeing Buddy lead his grandfather around like that, open and sweet in that childish way that Leonard has learned is just as natural in Vulcan children as it is anywhere else, that worry dissipates.
Words & Chapter(s):  30,513 Words and 20 chapters, completed
Summary: Leonard is exhausted, and there is a crying kid in front of him with a bowl-cut and pointed ears.
Of course he picks him up.
Score: 13
Pairing(s): N/A technically, temporary background implied things that you can either ignore or acknowledge, it’s up to you either way
Warning(s): Vulcan destruction and all the trauma that includes.
Non-graphic mentions of panic attacks, as well as nightmares.
Bullying that is Immediately handled, xenophobia because humans are still assholes, and that's all I noticed.
This fic is actually pretty light in spite of all this though.
Pros: If I were to describe the way Straight_Outta_Hobbiton writes, I would say it is similar to the way a surprise symphony of your favorite song feels, you've already heard the original and can sing every word of it, you've trained yourself to hold those notes as best you're able, you know what the song means to you and you know what the song means to the artist.
But then, one day on accident, you stumble upon a symphonic version of the song created by the same artist, and if you're lucky you remember your headphones the first time, and you turn it on, not really expecting much, I mean yeah this is your favorite song but, you've heard it a million billion trillion times before! How different could it possibly be right? There's no way it could potentially top the original content you've already fallen in love with right? Right?
Except you turn it on, with the volume stupidly high in your headphones, and suddenly the first note travels through you in a way that feels Right like this is the way this song was made- No, crafted to be listened to. And suddenly it's like you're drifting through several thousand miles and spaces and places and settling in your ideal world and it’s entrancing and ensnaring you within a realm of existence you hadn't previously been aware, and when finally finally that world-altering song ends you realize that never again shall you come quite as close to that Feeling as you did within those few short moments.
For me, that song was Beethoven's Fur Elise, the original place I heard the piano version of what would later become my absolute favorite song in "I Know I Can" by Nas, a rapper I still listen to today regardless of my views on most of the genre's un-diverse opinions.
One thing I really like is the way SOH rationalizes the children staying with Bones, as well as the explanation of everyone's perspective and views. I love the subtle articulation of body language, and the small emotions that flow slowly from one emotion to another in a masterful way that not even most published authors can replicate.
I wasn't joking when I said that most Authors in the Star Trek fandom are god-level writers, it's an instinctual way of writing that you just don't normally find nowadays, I have no doubts that if this were published it'd go down in history in a similar manner to Harry Potter, or Lord of The Rings the writing really is that good, it's so good in fact that I scoured the internet to find it again after I lost it, it's so good that I stopped reading halfway through to tell you all what I thought so far.
This is the most beautifully crafted tale I have had the pleasure of reading, and the sequel does not disappoint, even when we gain multiple new points of view. It's quite, magical, I suppose, in a way that few tales, especially Sci-Fi tales, tend to be able to recreate.
Gif Aesthetic: Bones, announcing to his family that he’s adopted more than 40 kids on accident
Tumblr media
Everyone Bones knows besides Jim who isn’t even a little bit surprised vs Bones begging them to just Not Say Anything
Tumblr media
Look, it’s everyone Vulcan child Bones meets without hesitation and/or effort!!
Tumblr media
Bones, well aware that he’s about to adopt those extra children and Jim pretending he has No Idea what Bones is about to do, yet again without hesitation, on accident
Tumblr media
Tired Dad!Bones, point seven seconds from Force Choking some paparazzi reporters

meet NOAH THOMPSYN ! a twenty four year old burnt out musician turned tattoo artist from england. he is elise’s older brother, and has lived a rather privileged life. despite his mother being a psychopath who attempted to take his and his sister’s life from him, he’s managed to keep his head up high and work for the things he wants. at seventeen, he was discovered and immediately broadcasted to the world as the breakout new artist of the year. and he was - for a while. right up until he was twenty-three when lines began to blur between the summits of alcohol and partying, a failing kidney and the need to portray an image unlike himself. it was his twenty-fourth birthday when he fell off the map. he took his life from los angeles to a small town in the middle of north carolina where he’s been hiding out, hoping no one figures out who he is or where he’s really from.

Art Post-Internet: INFORMATION / DATA
This understanding of the post-internet refers not to a time “after” the internet, but rather to an internet state of mind — to think in the fashion of the network.
the category of the post-internet describes an art object created with a consciousness of the networks within which it exists, from conception and production to dissemination and reception
distribution, language, the posthuman body, radical identification, branding and corporate aesthetics, painting and gesture, and infrastructure.
constellation of physical and immaterial elements
series revolving around networks, social institutions, groups identities, and gender dynamics,
As much as new social uses of technology have
changed the distribution and authorship of art, so too
have they disrupted the workings of publishing and the
dissemination of texts in and about art — not to mention the
ways in which we consider reception.
approach to the gender and power dynamics of the depiction of women online,
One of the most prominent visual signatures today
is dominated by sterile corporate aesthetics and consulting
lingo, branding exercises both online and off, a parroting
or parodying of the fashion and advertising worlds, and,
perhaps most durably, the stock image — that uncanny branch of
photography that maximizes its situational applicability via
its vacant blandness
develop an analysis of how the channels of
capitalist production effect the circulation of contemporary
culture as a form of content.
most efficiently visible in the exchanges of digital painting:
the history of how software engineers modeled the movements
of paint has become a touchstone for a generation of artists
interested in drawing these models off of the screen and onto
paper or canvas, exploring the boundaries of painting — that
sometimes-hackneyed goal for so much of art after modernism —
in a changing digital world.]
How do you define ‘post-internet’? How does thisterminology relate to artistic practices?
Juliette Bonneviot Post-internet is anything that takes the idea of the internet as a starting point. The internet can be understood as an historical era and as an ecology of systems, a logic of networks — a very wide framework indeed. Any work
that consciously comments on or includes the logic of the net is considered postinternet
Harry Burke “Post-internet” is reminiscent of a network of art practices that began to develop a critical currency in 2009 and mainstreamed (in the art world) in 2011 and (outside the art world) in 2012.
Esther Choi I would define “post-internet,” in the broadest terms, as a set of modalities and sensibilities that self-referentially respond to the Internet’s advent and cultural influence.
Like post-conceptualism, post-internet artistic
production inherits and expands on the discourses of
media art and systems-based artistic strategies, and
focuses its attention to the cultural impact of the
Internet’s technologies, material arrangements, and
procedural operations.
Michael Connor Post-internet to me was a perspective that emerged out of moment, a series of moments that played out (and are maybe still playing out) in slightly different ways in different places at different times.
Tyler Coburn (1) Post-internet denotes a network of specific individuals ranged acrossphysical and virtual localities, making work in conversation over the past severalyears.(2) Post-internet delineates the moment when certain artistic practices assumemarket viability, despite the earnestness and seriousness that informed Gene McHugh’s seminal work on the term.
Ben Davis “post-internetart” is an attempt to recapture internet art for galleryculture.
Simon Denny I see it as other people’s role to define this
term. As it is a term produced by others, I rely on
external indications of which ideas, curators and artists
are associated with this term.
Raffael Dörig Marisa Olson’s original methodological notion of post-internet based on “art on the internet” vs. “art after the internet” was quite useful — to describe a practice that was crucial to a new generation of artists working with the internet as a part of everybody’s everyday life.
Brian Droitcour The vagueness ofpost-internet, paired with the assumption that everyone knows what it means, isone of the most aggravating things about it. “
“How can we be post-internet when internet is still here? Shouldn’t it be during-internet” — doesn’t seem to hold
up under scrutiny.
Post- presupposes finitude, closure, knowing retrospection. Proto- points to
multiplicity and possibility. An art that is proto- would approach the internet’s
ubiquity not as a boring given but as a phenomenon ripe with transformative
potential for the mediation of people and art (or people and people),
Orit Gat the first, as a statewhich is so expansive we’re basically all implicated in it — a reaction to thedependency on the internet and its growingly corporate structure — what mostpeople would call “internet-aware,” perhaps. The second is a certain group ofartists, all but a social scene, spread between New York, London, and Berlin
Ann Hirsch Originally post-internet meant an awareness of how the internet has fully permeated our lives. From daily mundane functions to relationships to the way we perceive culture and the way it is being spread.
Omar Kholeif I tend to adopt the common notion that post-internet is art that is “internet aware”
Elise Lammer the world feels fragmented, accelerated and inpermanent flux. To me, post-internet simply translates our current experience ofspace and time.
Gene McHugh It doesn’t address a “new media” and thusdoesn’t inhabit a cultural niche; rather it addresseswhat rapidly had become the common, everyday mediaassociated with the internet and its related digitaltools.
Ceci Moss It’s not a progressivedevelopment, but a deep reflection on the instant. are an attempt to define the operative reality of howinformation is captured and networked, and how artists engage in dialogue with thatlogic.
Marisa Olson “internet-engaged art.” It’s more than a wordthat prefaces “art” in the phrase, “postinternet art.” Today I use the term morebroadly to think about the social conditions of life in network culture.
Aude Pariset First, it describes a general condition where the Internet has finished“colonizing” the mind of most individuals. work has emerged in the same time as the awareness of theunavoidable banality of the internet era.

Raymonde de Laroche, is thought to be the first woman to pilot a plane, but there is no doubt that she did become the world's first licensed female pilot on 8th March, 1910. She received the 36th aeroplane pilot's licence issued by the Aeroclub de France, the world's first organization to issue pilot licences. At the time, pilot licences were only required for pilots operating aircraft for commercial purposes.
Born on 22 August 1882 in Paris, France, as Elise Raymonde Deroche, Raymonde De Laroche was the daughter of a plumber. She had a fondness for sports as a child, as well as for motorcycles and automobiles when she was older. As a young woman she became an actress and used the stage name "Raymonde de Laroche". Inspired by Wilbur Wright's 1908 demonstrations of powered flight in Paris and being personally acquainted with several aviators, including artist-turned-aviator Léon Delagrange, who was reputed to be the father of her son André, de Laroche determined to take up flying for herself.
In October 1909, de Laroche appealed to her friend, aviator and aeroplane builder Charles Voisin, to instruct her in how to fly. On 22 October 1909, de Laroche went to the Voisin brothers' base of operations at Chalons, 90 miles (140 km) east of Paris. Voisin's aircraft could seat only one person, so she operated the plane by herself while he stood on the ground and gave instructions. After she mastered taxiing around the airfield, she lifted off and flew 300 yards (270 m).De Laroche's flight is often cited as the first by a woman in a powered heavier-than-air craft; there is evidence that two other women, P. Van Pottelsberghe and Thérèse Peltier, had flown the previous year with Henri Farman and Delagrange respectively as passengers but not as pilots.
Decades later, aviation journalist Harry Harper wrote that until de Laroche made her celebrated flight on the Voisin, she had only flown once, for a short hop, as a passenger; when she first took the controls, Charles Voisin expressly forbade her to attempt a flight; and after taxiing twice across the airfield, she took off, flying "ten or fifteen feet high" and handling the controls with "cool, quick precision".
Although Gabriel Voisin wrote, "... my brother was entirely under her thumb", the story of de Laroche as a headstrong woman making the flight after scant preparation and against Voisin's orders almost certainly romanticises what actually took place. Flight magazine, a week after the flight, reported: "For some time the Baroness has been taking lessons from M. Chateau, the Voisin instructor, at Chalons, and on Friday of last week she was able to take the wheel for the first time. This initial voyage into the air was only a very short one, and terra firma was regained after 300 yards (270 m)." Flight was also responsible for bestowing the title "Baroness" upon de Laroche, as she was not of noble birth. Flight added that on the following day she circled the flying field twice, "the turnings being made with consummate ease.
De Laroche participated in aviation meetings at Heliopolis in Egypt as well as Saint Petersburg, Budapest and Rouen. During the show in St. Petersburg, she was personally congratulated by Tsar Nicholas II. There, she was presented once again as "Baroness" de Laroche. Thereafter, the title became commonly used.
In July 1910, de Laroche was participating in the week-long airshow at Reims in France. On 8 July, her aeroplane crashed, and she suffered such severe injuries that her recovery was in doubt, but two years later, she was fit again and had returned to flying. On 26 September 1912, she and Charles Voisin were involved in a car crash. Voisin was killed, and she was severely injured.
On 25 November 1913 de Laroche won the Aero-Club of France's Femina Cup for a non-stop long-distance flight of over 4 hours duration.
During World War I, as flying was considered too dangerous for women, she served as a military driver, chauffeuring officers from the rear zones to the front under fire.
In June 1919 de Laroche set two women's altitude records, one at 15,700 feet (4,800 m); and also the women's distance record, at 201 miles (323 km).
On 18 July 1919, de Laroche, who was a talented engineer, went to the airfield at Le Crotoy as part of her plan to become the first female test pilot. She co-piloted an experimental aircraft (whether she flew this is not known); on its landing approach the aeroplane went into a dive and crashed, killing both de Laroche and the co-pilot.
From 6 March to 12 March 2010, to celebrate the Centennial of Licensed Women Pilots, women pilots from eight countries on three continents used 20 types of aircraft to establish a new world record: 310 girls and women introduced to piloting by women pilots in one week.
This is my colourised version of an original black, and white photograph taken on 1st July, 1919, but I have posted the untouched image within the comments

Raymonde de Laroche, is thought to be the first woman to pilot a plane, but there is no doubt that she did become the world's first licensed female pilot on 8th March, 1910 ....
