The Jodhpuri suit, also known as the Bandhgala suit, has a fascinating origin story that blends Indian and Western influences.
Place and Time: The Jodhpuri suit is believed to have originated in the princely state of Jodhpur, Rajasthan, around the 1600s.
Maharaja Pratap Singh: Some credit Maharaja Pratap Singh of Jodhpur for popularizing the style. While on a trip to England, his luggage containing traditional Indian attire went missing. He improvised and had a new outfit tailored on Savile Row, a famous street known for bespoke tailoring. This new outfit, featuring a shorter coat and breeches, became the foundation of the Jodhpuri suit.
Fusion of Styles: The Jodhpuri suit is considered an Indo-Western creation. It combines elements of the traditional Indian garment, the Sherwani (long coat), with a shorter, tailored jacket inspired by Western styles. The Jodhpuri breeches, similar to riding pants, are another distinct feature.
Evolution and Popularity: The Jodhpuri suit gained popularity among other Indian royalty and aristocracy. Over time, the style evolved, with variations in fabric, embroidery, and closure types. Jodhpuri suits became associated with formal wear and special occasions.
Jodhpur or Bandhgala? Interestingly, there’s some debate about the origin of the name. While the story suggests Maharaja Pratap Singh’s connection to Jodhpur, the term “Bandhgala” literally translates to “closed neck” and likely refers to the characteristic collar of the suit. Both names are widely used today.

Elevate Your Style: Contemporary Classics for the Modern Gentleman
Tumblr media
In the fast-paced world of men's fashion, where trends come and go, classic suits have stood the test of time as a symbol of sophistication and timeless elegance. However, the modern gentleman seeks more than just tradition; he craves a blend of classic aesthetics and contemporary flair. This blog delves into the captivating realm of designer classic suits – meticulously crafted garments that marry the finest materials, impeccable tailoring, and a modern twist on timeless styles.
Tumblr media
I. The Evolution of Classic Suits:
To truly appreciate designer classic suits for the modern gentleman, one must first understand the evolution of the purple Resham Embroidered Italian Classic Suit. Originating in the early 19th century, suits have undergone various transformations, adapting to changing societal norms and fashion trends. From the Victorian frock coats to the streamlined silhouettes of the 1960s, each era has left its mark on the classic suit.
Modern gentlemen seek timeless class suits for men, transcending fleeting trends. Designer classics seamlessly blend bygone eras with contemporary elements, resonating with the discerning tastes of today's fashion-conscious men. Meticulous craftsmanship, premium materials, and personalized tailoring redefine sophistication, ensuring longevity and versatility for every occasion.
Tumblr media
II. Craftsmanship and Materials:
At the heart of every designer classic suit lies exquisite craftsmanship and the use of premium materials. Unlike mass-produced suits, which prioritize quantity over quality, designer suits are meticulously crafted by skilled artisans who pay unwavering attention to detail.
These suits often feature the finest fabrics, sourced from renowned textile mills around the world. Whether it's the luxurious feel of Italian wool or the smooth texture of Egyptian cotton, the choice of material plays a pivotal role in defining the character of a designer classic suit. The modern gentleman, attuned to the nuances of quality, can appreciate the investment in superior materials that not only ensure durability but also contribute to the overall aesthetic appeal of the garment.
Tumblr media
III. Impeccable Tailoring:
Designer suits for men redefine sophistication with impeccable tailoring, where every curve, seam, and stitch are executed with precision. This art form enhances the wearer's silhouette, turning the garment into a canvas upon which skilled artisans weave their mastery. The result is a flawless fit and a testament to the timeless elegance of designer classics.
Modern gentlemen seeking sophistication demand more than a one-size-fits-all approach. Designer classic suits often offer personalized tailoring options, allowing individuals to express their unique style preferences. Whether it's a slimmer cut for a contemporary look or a more traditional fit for a nod to timeless elegance, the tailored approach ensures that the suit becomes a second skin, reflecting the wearer's personality and lifestyle.
IV. Timeless Styles with a Modern Twist:
In the realm of men's fashion, the evolution of suit design for men sees a marriage of classic aesthetics and modern innovation. While traditional suits have enduring appeal, designers elevate them by infusing contemporary twists, showcasing unique lapel designs, unconventional pocket placements, and innovative fabric combinations. This fusion pays homage to tradition while pushing boundaries, creating suits that go beyond mere wardrobe staples. The modern gentleman, appreciating nuanced deviations, embraces these designer classics as statement pieces that capture the essence of both timeless elegance and cutting-edge style. Seeking more than emulation, he values innovation and individuality, finding satisfaction in suits that reflect his discerning taste and push the boundaries of what a classic suit can be.
Tumblr media
V. Versatility for Every Occasion:
Designer classic suits for men, tailored with precision for suit design, effortlessly transition from formal boardrooms to sophisticated soirées. The modern gentleman's versatile lifestyle demands a wardrobe that adapts seamlessly without compromising style, especially for occasions like men's suits for weddings. Thoughtfully designed by incorporating exquisite colors, patterns, and textures, these designer suits offer a harmonious blend of elegance and adaptability.
Whether attending a business meeting in a crisp navy blue suit or making a statement at a black-tie wedding in a charcoal gray ensemble, these suits cater to the multifaceted nature of the modern gentleman's life. Embracing the intersection of traditional and contemporary fashion, designer classic suits become indispensable staples for discerning individuals.
VI. Investment in Longevity:
In a world saturated with fleeting trends, the modern gentleman values longevity and sustainability, emphasizing the importance of men's suit design. Designer classic suits stand out as investments in both style and durability, crafted with high-quality materials and expert artistry to withstand the test of time. These class suits online transcend seasonal fluctuations, offering timeless sophistication.
Tumblr media
The discerning gentleman values a wardrobe that evolves, symbolizing life's journey. A well-crafted designer suit, a sartorial companion, witnesses milestones and accomplishments. Men's suit design stands out as a key element in crafting a timeless and versatile wardrobe. Shop classic Sarees online to embrace enduring style and individuality in every facet of the modern gentleman's narrative.

Part One / Part Two (You are Here) / Part Three
A03
Hopper had undersold Harrington's condition.
Wayne hadn't expected anything pretty, but the face that turned to them as they walked through the door almost had him freezing in place.
Black eye, bruised chin, split lip.
More and more bruises, some faded and some very new, trailing down the kids neck.
The rest was hidden by his preppy little polo shirt, but Wayne didn't doubt that there were more.
Harrington tried to stand when they entered the room and the way he moved--entirely unbalanced, clearly in a lot of pain--made Wayne think the only thing the kid really needed was a hospital.
Because Steve Harrington hadn't just been beaten.
He'd been tortured--and very recently strangled.
(Abruptly, Wayne realized that Hopper had implied the boy had been in the mall fire--just as much as he implied the mall fire was anything but.
He also hadn't stated how Harrington had escaped the Suites trying to break into his house.)
"Sit down." Hopper commanded, and Wayne expected Harrington to do anything but listen.
Say something cocky, or act the part of a demanding little shit maybe, despite the condition he was in.
Instead the kid just sighed in relief and dropped like a stone, right back into the chair.
Hopper came around his desk, talking all the while. "Steve, this is Wayne. Wayne, Steve."
"Hello Sir." Steve croaked politely. His voice was wrecked, no doubt from the necklace of finger shaped bruises around his neck.
"You're going to stay with him for a while, and you're gonna pay him for the privilege." Hopper informed him, as he began digging around his desk. "Money, chores, whatever Wayne wants."
Wayne held his gaze as Steve turned to appraise him.
Would Harrington pitch a fit?
Would he look at Wayne's work clothes, streaked with dirt and sweat, with the name of the warehouse embroidered in the corner and crinkle up his nose, just like his daddy did?
Hopper didn't lie, but a part of Wayne wanted to see just how different this Harrington was. If the respectful demeanor was an act done for Hopper.
Or perhaps, Hopper had mentioned Steve's father for a reason, instead of his mother. Did he adopt her ice-like approach to life?
Micro managing and long-held grudges were Stella Harrington’s game, and she excelled at it.
Steve however, did nothing of the sort, instead settling with the situation in a way that reminded Wayne far too strongly of the men and women who'd come home from war.
"Okay." The kid said simply, after a long moment of consideration. He turned back to Hopper. "But we need to tell the rest of the Par--"
Here he cut a look back to Wayne, correcting himself. "the kids. I don't want them showing up at my house trying to find me and freaking out."
"They wouldn't--" Jim paused, fingers freezing from the rummaging they'd been doing. "they absolutely would, goddammit." He muttered darkly.
"I'll tell the kids. The only thing I want you doing right now is laying low. I need to get a hold of Owens, but it's gonna take time to do that, and more time to fix this, so as of right now, Harrington? You're on vacation." He pointed sternly, as if Steve might argue.
The kid looked too tired and messed up to bother trying.
"I mean it. You're out of the country, where is anybody's guess. No one's seen you and no one better be seeing you, got it?" His voice held firm, and Wayne had to blink because the tone here wasn't one of a police chief warning a teenager--but of a father talking to his son.
He knew, because his own voice did that now. Took on a worried tone that masqueraded as something more like annoyance and seriousness.
"Yes, Sir." Harrington said, remaining weirdly compliant. "Consider me gone."
A hand came up to briefly press above one eye, and Wayne wondered if the kid had been looked over, or if they had just crammed him into Hopper's office without offering so much as a tissue box.
How many painkillers did they have back at the house? Wayne usually kept a good bottle around, but Steve was going to need more than that…
He found himself once again cataloging Steve's wounds, this time comparing them to the medicine cabinet he had at home.
"I expect you to be a damn good house guest, you hear me?" Hopper continued, trying to cut a menacing figure. He finally found what he was looking for; pulling out a large, padded envelope.
He handed it over to Harrington, who took it without looking, shoving it into the duffle bag he'd had sitting at his feet.
There was a smudge of red on the handle of said bag, that matched perfectly up to a shittily done wrap on Steve's right hand.
Wayne mentally added 'buy more bandages' to his list.
Steve nodded at Hopper again. "Yes, Sir."
Jim’s eyes narrowed. "Quite that, you know I hate that."
The briefest glimmer of mischief crossed Harrington's face. "Sorry, Sir. Won't happen again, Sir."
'Ahh.' Wayne thought. 'So there's a teenager in there after all.'
Jim rolled his eyes. "Get out of my office."
"Thanks Hop." Harrington said, finally dropping that odd obedience, a hint of a smile on his battered face.
He stood, and Wayne had to stop himself from offering an arm out as Steve reached for his bag and limped towards him.
He paused right before he left Hopper's office, hand on the doorframe.
"You'll check up on Robin too, right?"  He asked, and for the first time his tone took on something more alive--and filled with worry. "And Dustin? Erica?"
"Dustin and his mom are finally taking me up on my suggestion to see their family in Florida for a while, and the Sinclairs are taking a sabbatical from Hawkins. I'm working on the Buckley's." Hopper drummed his fingers on the desk. "So far, no one else besides you and El have been targeted, and we're going to keep it that way."
Steve let out a breath, and while Wayne could tell the worry hadn't left him, he could almost physically see Steve force himself to put it away.
Another act that was far beyond the kid's years.
A different officer popped up as they walked down the hall towards the exit, waving his hand madly. "Harrington! Chief says you forgot this!" He barked.
(Or tried to anyway. Callahan wasn’t the most aggressive of officers and frankly, never would be.)
A slim sports bag was held in his hands, and Steve nearly tripped over his own feet when he tried to turn and claim it.
"I'll get it." Wayne said, knowing his tone sounded gruff.
No use for it. He could either sound gruff or sound sad, and Wayne knew better than to start off the relationship with yet another hurt young man by acting sad.
Pity wasn't gonna win him any favors here.
He took the bag, slinging it over his shoulder, uncaring of the wince on Harrington's face until something sharp poked at his shoulder.
Several somethings, in fact.
"What the hell do you got in this thing?" He asked once they hit the parking lot, voice low as he escorted Steve to his truck.
"Just a baseball bat, sir." Steve said, in the exact same tone Eddie used every time he thought he was bein’ slick.
Considering the thing in the bag could have passed for a baseball bat if not for the sharp pokey bits, it wasn’t a bad attempt. Steve just hadn’t accounted for the fact that Wayne lived with Eddie.
An unfair advantage, really.
‘Least there can’t be any baby racoons in the damn bag.’ Wayne thought idly.
Went on to gently put the bat in the backseat, watching as the kid struggled to lift himself into the truck.
"You can drop that, I take too being called Sir about as well as Hop does." He said, keeping his tone nice and calm, hoping to ease into calling Steve out on his lie.
Fussed with a few dials on the stereo, giving Steve an excuse to take his time before starting the engine and taking the long way home.
Wayne wanted to talk a little-- without the chance of Ed’s interrupting.
"Son,” He started off. “I was born in the morning, but not this morning. I'm hoping to make the next few weeks as easy as I can for both of us, and I can't do that if you're starting off with a lie."
Steve blinked, turning to face him in a matter that was too fast for his injuries. He didn't bother hiding the hurt it caused him, but his voice stayed even as he spoke.
 "What do you mean Si--Wayne."
"Nice catch.”  Wayne said. “We’ll get you there yet.”
It was a trick he'd learned with Eddie--little tidbits of praise went a long way when it came to gaining trust.
Especially with kids who hadn't ever been given much.
Harrington seemed smart to it, or perhaps was just hesitant to speak in general because he remained quiet, not offering up any info. No further lies, but nothing towards the truth, neither.
Which was fine. Wayne didn’t think a little pushing would hurt.
"That bat of yours was digging into my shoulder like a bee swarm." Wayne continued, when it became clear Steve wasn't talking. "I'm more a fan of football than baseball, but last I checked they hadn't changed the design of a bat."
"What teams?" Steve asked, perking up a touch. "Of football. Which ones are yours?"
Wayne could ignore it of course, or demand Steve give him an answer to the question he asked.
He did neither. "I’m liking the Colts since they got moved here. You?"
"Green Bay Packers, though I like the Colts too--that trade in 84’ was crazy." Steve said. After a second he proved that answering instead of pushing was the right move because he added; "What did Hopper tell you? About…" He trailed off, making a gesture Wayne didn't bother trying to interpret.
"He said some things. I've guessed a few others." Wayne admitted. Cut a little look out of the corner of his eye as he came to a stop sign. "I know the feds are real interested in you after Starcourt."
Steve took that in, hands tightening on the handle.
"It really is a baseball bat." He said, a little fast and with the tiniest hint of that challenge Wayne had been looking for. "It just also has nails hammered into one end."
Wayne took that in with one nice, slow blink.
"A bat with nails in it." He said, and it made a hell of a lot of sense compared to the sensation he'd felt carrying the case. "You use it against anyone?"
"Some of the feds." Steve admitted, and even with his eyes on the road Wayne could tell he was being stared at.
Judged.
Not in the way one expected a rich kid to judge, but in the way Eddie had, those first few months he'd lived here. The times when  he'd push, just a little, to see what Wayne's reaction would be.
Eddie hadn't done it in a damn long time, but Wayne recognized the behavior nonetheless.
"Anybody else?" He asked.
"Nobody human." Steve replied.
"Alright." Wayne said, and made a mental note to drop all questions related to that.
He didn't need to know, definitely didn't want to know, and had a feeling if he did know he'd find himself being watched by the same spooks after Steve.
"I've got a few deck boxes that lock on my porch. Think you'd be agreeable to leaving the bat in one?"
Steve paused, hand clenching tighter around the strap of his duffel bag. "If you gave me a key so I could get it in an emergency,  I'd be happy to."
He tried to sound calm, even a little charming in that sort of upper-class businessman sort of way, but the fear bled through.
The kid wasn't happy separating from the bat, and given it sounded like it might have saved his life recently, Wayne understood the hesitation.
With an internal apology to Eddie, he promptly threw his nephew under the proverbial bus.  "I've got my nephew at home and he'd be far too interested in it, is all. Blades and weapons and such tend to attract him, and I don't need to be rushing anyone to the ER."
All of which were very true facts (one Wayne learned the time he'd allowed Eddie to bring a sword  home, only for him to nearly cut his own nose off winging the thing around) but he figured it might make Steve more amenable to separating from it.
Sure enough, some of the tenseness bled out of Steve's shoulders. "Yeah that's fair."
The truck hit a few potholes as they finally turned into the trailer park, and the kid hissed, a quiet sound.
Judging by the uncomfortable wince, and hands clenched into his jeans something painwise was giving him trouble.
"When was the last time you took a pain pill?" Wayne asked, doing his best to weave around the other holes that dotted the gravel roads.
Steve blinked. "Uh…"
"You take any today son?"
Steve his head.
"Didn't have time to grab it." He said, offering a sad look to his pack.
Course he hadn't.
"Let's get you inside then and get you some." Wayne said with a sigh. Thankfully Eddie's van wasn't here--Wayne was fairly certain he had band practice today but knowing him it could be a million other things.
Just meant he had to acclimate Steve as fast as he could, to try and get the poor guy settled before Ed’s came in.
He just hoped life and lady luck would work with him, for once.

YOU'RE TRANS ????????
sorry mate you're just. you're so cool & as a little baby history autist i really look up to you as one of the only men i see in the. is scene the right word. and i've been following you since 2021? 22? and i love your work and i had no idea and i'm trans too and idk it feels hard to see a future sometimes but here you are ?? doing with your life exactly what i hope to do with mine ?? and idk i may have cried a bit anyways happy tdov <3
Sure am!! Started transitioning in late 2016! Hello and happy TDOV! and thank you!!
Here's a picture I posted last year of just how very much that jacket in the post I reblogged today does not fit me any more. (Age 18 vs 28) I can't even get both shoulders into it, and that's after having chest material removed.
Tumblr media
None of my older waistcoats fit either, because my posture straightened up a ridiculous amount, and my ribcage definitely got bigger. (Which gradually happened over more than a year, so to anyone reading this who's planning on top surgery - don't make any super elaborate heavily embroidered waistcoats until at least a year after, or it will probably get too narrow in front! I've donated nearly all my pre-2018 waistcoats and coats to a local theatre!)
I ought to mention being trans more often so more people can go "same hat!", and I should also try to remember to make sure my pin cushion is visible in my sewing videos sometimes.
Tumblr media
Also! I think having a rounder face and wider hips makes me better suited to early 18th century looks.
Tumblr media
And late 17th if I get around to sewing some stuff from then. And the 1820's-40's, the men in fashion plates around that time were VERY hourglass shaped. And probably other periods too, the modern ideal of broad shouldered square jawed dudebros looks rather strange in a lot of historical eras!

Dog-eared | Chapter 1: The End
Summary: You know your boss is involved with organised crime. The flashy cars, men in tailored suits, call girls that come and go, and the odd hours he keeps. It screams organised crime of some kind, or a cult. But you’ve been able to keep it all separate from your personal life. Until now. Chapter Warnings: Canon-Typical Violence, Blood and Gore, Mafia Themes/Mob Violence etc., Swearing, Nearly Naked Price. Main Masterlist | AO3 Wordcount: 2556

Tumblr media
On the surface, working for the Mob is no different to any other corporation, you do your job – a cushy gig as a Cyber Security expert – you get paid. There’s no union busting, or quibbles over PTO and pay, simply because it’s laughable to even consider them when your boss is literally the head of one of the most notorious London crime gangs.
You butt heads with the department heads and shareholders of the shell company just as frequently as at that company owned by Nestle, you’re pulled from project to project just as often as working for Amazon’s tech support, you work unpaid overtime at the same frequency as that law firm down the road.
The key difference is the pay.
You’re flush with savings, your student loans repaid, and you live a pretty cushy life, all things considered.
“Alrigh’, lass?” The familiar Glaswegian twang shakes you out of your post-lunch daydream at your desk and you smile up at your friend as he perches on the edge of your desk. You didn’t even hear the door to your office open.
He’s dressed to the nines in a blue three-piece number, suit jacket slung over his shoulder. His waistcoat is a slightly darker blue with gold brocade embroidered on the silky material. His tie is a bright yellow to match, if you didn’t know any better, he’d almost pass for a Canary Wharf banker wanker.
His hair is styled in the usual short mohawk he’s favoured since you were kids. A bittersweet remnant of the boy you once knew shining through the hardened exterior of the very dangerous man you’ve come to love.
“Soap MacTavish, those will kill you,” you say with a roll of your eyes as you point to the cigar tucked in the exterior pocket of his suit, “Celebrating?”
“Not yet,” he says as he drums his fingertips on the desk, “But Cap’n thinks we’re about to strike it big.”
“I don’t want to know,” you playfully cover your ears with your hands, “So zip it.”
“You asked,” Soap says with a grin, “Besides, Price is keeping this one on the need-to-know basis, so I couldn’t tell you even if you were feeling a wee bit nosy.”
“Good,” you say with a huff as you lean back in your chair, “Just come back in one piece, yeah?”
“Always,” he promises with a wink as you see the lift doors open behind him, Ghost and Price in full view through the glass walls of your office. Both men are deep in conversation, “Besides, I’ve got plans this weekend, can’t woo my missus if I’m dead.”
“Speak of the devil,” you grumble as Ghost and Price stop outside your open door. The scarred blond man nods at you, a subtle twitch of his eyebrow and scarred lip more than anyone else gets in this place. He’s in a pale salmon suit, black shirt unbuttoned just enough to brandish the gold chain around his neck.
Price looks through you like you don’t exist. His azure eyes cold and emotionless as you nod in his direction. You can’t help but notice the way his rolled up shirt sleeves hug his thick arms, nor the gold shirt garters that only add to the old-school gangster look. His dark trousers are pressed to perfection, the hems brushing over the tops of his maroon Brogues. His beard is freshly trimmed, framing his thick lips in a way that makes you yearn to know what it’s like to feel them brushing over your skin.
It used to sting, the sheer indifference he shows you, but after four years, you’re over it. Mostly. You try to give him the same wide berth, mostly talking through Kate, his COO, if the need arises.
But you’re not so proud to admit you’d climb him like a tree if he so much as hinted that he was interested.
“Duty calls, hen,” Johnny leans in to press a kiss to your forehead, “See you soon.”
You feel the multiple eyes on you at the overly familiar gesture. The rumours that you and Soap were/are fucking have been circulating since you first joined Price and Sons. It makes you laugh, because – to you – it’s obvious how in love Soap and Ghost are.
“You’ve got to stop doing that,” you call after him playfully, “Aaron from HR is on my ass about inappropriate work relationships!”
“Whatever you say lass, you love the attention,” Soap says without turning back, his laughter echoing through the hall as he joins Price and Ghost outside your office. But being the subject of office gossip is the least of your concerns, it seems.
An alert flashes up in a command window, then another, and another. Emails start piling in along with Teams and Slack messages from multiple department heads and C-level execs.
You groan inwardly at the workload dumped at your feet, on the wrong side of lunch on a Friday. You’re going to be here into the early hours, you just know it.
You call up Farah, getting her to ensure the counter measures are doing their job across the system as you do the same. It’s a standard DDOS attack, aimed at the infrastructure layer, and one of thousands the company experiences each year. But there’s something about this one that makes you doubt it’s run of the mill. You don’t have time to question why as you see a second and third wave of emails and video calls coming through.
You’re pulling up Farah on a video call as you hear the glass door close behind Soap.
You don’t notice the way John Price lingers at your door, his gaze transfixed as he watches you work the problem. You miss the way he clips Johnny over the back of the head, telling the younger man to “behave”.
~*~
You’re trudging through the rowdy streets of London on a Friday night, still glued to your work phone as you try and wrack your brains over the incident. Farah offered to stay late onsite, which you had gladly accepted. You trust Farah more than any other colleague you’ve ever had. She’s capable, smart, funny, and most of all she knows her shit.
You’re only a few streets away from your flat now, thumbs furiously typing away as you hear the distinct rumble of thunder in the distance. You curse yourself for not packing an umbrella this morning.
You: Farah, don’t stay up too late, the worst of it is over, we can pick back up in the am.
Farah: Yes boss, will catch you in the morning, have a good one! Don’t lose any sleep on this, I’ve got it covered.
You: You too, night.
Farah: No promises, now put the phone away and let me know when you’re home safe.
You smile to yourself as you close the app. You know she’ll be glued to her work computer all night, but at least you can say you tried. You feel the heavy drops of rain splatter against your skin as the weather turns rapidly around you. The Friday night partygoers screeching and groaning as they too fall prey to the fickle whims of British weather.
You’re soaked through by the time you reach your building, the doorman letting you in with a sympathetic smile. You miss the guilt etched into his face as you shuffle through to the lift.
All you want to do is settle down with a glass of wine, your scrunkly elderly dog Lola, and the latest episode of that period drama series everyone is going on about.
You approach your front door, pawing through your handbag to find your keys when you hear it. A short, meek little yap that barely registers as a bark. A sound you’re far too familiar with to mistake it for anything else.
Lola.
You look up to see your door ajar. Your stomach drops as you see the bloody streak of a handprint smeared over the handle. You look down to see a scarlet boot print stamped on your welcome mat as you nudge the door open with the toe of your shoe.
“Hello?” You call out as you use the torch on your phone to illuminate your dark flat.
You can smell the red-copper scent of blood in the air as you follow the scarlet droplets that trail through your open plan flat. The jingling of Lola’s collar makes bile rise in your throat.
“Look, whoever you are,” you start your bargain with a surprisingly level voice, “I’ve got money, I’ll give you whatever you need, just leave my dog be, yeah?”
There’s no response as you drop your handbag down on the sofa, the familiar landscape of your home shrouded in darkness as you lament not turning the light on at the door. But the warm light spilling from your bedroom tells you exactly where your intruder must be.
You make your way to the safe on the far side of your flat, dangerously close to your bedroom door where the intruder lies – the bloody handprint smeared on your bedroom door a perfect match to the one you saw on the way in only stoking your fears.
You quickly disarm the safe and pull out your – very illegal – Colt 1911 with blackened frame and mother of pearl grips. You hit the mag eject, acknowledging the full clip before sliding it back into place and pulling the slide back to arm the weapon. You may not technically be part of the mob, but you’re not so naïve that you’d not prepare for this sort of thing.
You steel yourself, phone forgotten on the floor by the safe as you support the underside of your pistol grip with your off-hand, your dominant hand steady around the grip, aimed at shoulder height as you prepare to breach your bedroom.
“Last chance,” you call into your bedroom and the unmistakeable sound of Lola’s happy grumbles catches you off guard.
You kick the door in and immediately you’re left dumbfounded, but you don’t falter, gun pointed towards the man slumped on your bed.
“What the…?” You trail off as you feel heat singe at the tips of your ears, flooding your cheeks as you take in the sight before you.
John Price is shirtless, stripped down to his tight grey boxer briefs as his head lolls back against your expensive mahogany headboard. His hair sticks to his head, blood and rain smeared through his short locks. His face is bruised and bloodied, his lip split and one of his eyes swollen shut. Even beaten half to death, the man is striking.
“Mr Price?” You hiss as you slowly lower the gun, setting it down on a chest of drawers to your left, “What happened?”
You struggle to decide your next move, there’s a loud, shrill voice in the back of your mind that makes you want to dab his face with a wet rag. Shower him with care and attention like some trite romance novel. An equally loud voice tells you that it’s not your problem, this isn’t what you’re paid for, and you should just turn him out on the street.
Then you see the duct tape strapped tight around his hairy chest, two wads of what look like sanitary towels bunched up over his lower abdomen and another tampon-looking object stuck in his right bicep.
“Call me John,” he wheezes out and you jump back at the sudden signs of life from the beleaguered man. You can’t believe he’s still breathing, let alone conscious right now.
“What the fuck are you doing here, John?” You hiss as you notice the big lump under your blood-stained duvet, a long tail wagging against Price’s side as Lola seems to finally realise you’re home.
“Deal went sideways, shit really hit the fan this time,” he coughs out through gritted teeth as a tremor wracks his body, “Got the bullets out, used some of your shit in the bathroom, will compensate you.”
“Right,” you say as you shake your head, “I don’t want to know, don’t need your money, not like tampons are expensive anyway.”
“Fuck off with your sanctimonious bullshit for once, love,” Price hisses as he glares at you with his one good eye. You bristle at that but hold your tongue, glowering right back at him, as if he isn’t one of the most dangerous men in the country.
“You need a hospital,” you say slowly as you perch yourself at the end of the bed, “But I’m guessing you’re going to tell me to fuck off with that idea?”
“You catch on fast,” John says with a heavy exhale through his nose as Lola wriggles her way out of the bedding, her greying muzzle popping out of the covers dramatically as she sniffs you out, “I need to stay here a while, lay low while I plan my next move.
“Absolutely n-,” you begin but you’re cut off, John continuing to speak as if you aren’t even there.
“I will compensate you financially, of course, but you cannot let anyone know I’m here.”
Lola stretches her old body out with a soft whine before trotting down the bed to you, wonky tail swishing back and forth before she plops down onto your lap. Milky eyes peer blindly up at you with adoration as you scratch behind her ears.
“What about Soap? Ghost? Gaz? Kate’s gotta be worried sick,” You say, watching the wounded man labour through each breath. You try not to admit to yourself that you’re worried about him. He’s a mobster, scum, you should have nothing but resentment for him. But the nagging voice telling you to care for him, nurse him back to health, just won’t quit.
It's the right thing to do.
“Kate’s the reason I’m here,” he says as his voice becomes faraway, distant, “Said I could trust you.”
Before you can ask any more questions, Price passes out. His jaw falls slack and his one good eye flutters closed as you look between the haggard man and old dog in your bed. You groan as you release the mag from your gun and eject the chambered round, placing the disassembled piece down on your bedside table.
You force Lola out to do her business, the small dog grumbling the whole time you pry her away from the warm bed and even warmer man nestled under your sheets. You pick up your phone up on the way as you text Kate to see if she’s awake.
Kate: Call you in 5.
Is all you get as you’re lifting Lola back onto the bed, who immediately settles against Price’s side.
Traitor.
You think as you rummage under your sink to find your cleaning supplies. The welcome mat is burning away in a steel bin filled with lighter fluid on your balcony, but you need to clean up the rest of the blood before the nausea eats you alive. You phone begins to ring just as you’re locking your front door. You answer with a scowl as Kate says your name syrupy sweet in your ear.
“Cut the shit Kate,” you snap as you hold the phone in the crook of your neck as you start mopping Price’s blood from your tiles, “What the hell is going on?”

Celebrate Eid 2024 in Style: A Guide to Traditional Indian Attire for Samyakk.com
Introduction:
Eid al-Fitr is more than just a religious holiday; it’s a vibrant celebration of joy, family reunions, and embracing cherished cultural traditions. One of the most exciting aspects of Eid festivities is dressing up in beautiful traditional attire.
India, with its rich tapestry of cultures and styles, boasts a stunning variety of outfits perfect for Eid celebrations. Sarees, the epitome of elegance, Salwar Kameez, radiating timeless grace, or Kurta Pajamas, exuding regal charm — there’s a plethora of options to create a showstopping Eid outfit. Let’s delve into some of the top Indian dress trends for SAMYAKK.com this Eid 2024.
Tumblr media
Embrace Timeless Elegance with Traditional Salwar Kameez
For an eternally classic look, a Salwar Kameez with intricate embroidery and rich fabrics is a perfect choice. Opt for a silhouette featuring a long Kurta paired with comfortable Salwar pants and a matching Dupatta. Deep jewel tones like ruby red, sapphire blue, or emerald green add a touch of royalty, perfectly capturing the festive spirit of Eid.
Salwar Kameez: A Classic Dress for All Occasions
The Salwar Kameez is a timeless classic that never goes out of style. This quintessential Indian outfit comprises a long tunic or Kurta paired with loose-fitting pants called Salwar and a matching Dupatta. For Eid 2024, vibrant colors like deep reds, royal blues, or rich greens are perfect choices. Zari work, embroidery, or intricate beadwork can add a touch of glamour to your ensemble, making it truly stand out.
Tumblr media
Anarkali Salwar: Flowing Grace for a Sophisticated Eid Look
Anarkali Salwar suits exude elegance and grace with their flowing silhouette and floor-length design. These outfits typically feature a fitted bodice and a flared skirt-like bottom, reminiscent of the Mughal era. Choose Anarkali suits in pastel shades or soft hues adorned with delicate embroidery or sequins for a sophisticated Eid look.
Unstitched Salwar Kameez: Unmatched Versatility for Eid
Unstitched Salwar Kameez sets offer unparalleled versatility and customization. Tailor the outfit to your preferences, mixing and matching different fabrics, colors, and designs to create a unique ensemble that reflects your personal style. Consider experimenting with contrasting color combinations or incorporating trendy patterns like floral prints or geometric motifs for a truly individual look.
Tumblr media
Party Wear Salwar Kameez: Be the Center of Attention
If you’re attending a festive Eid party, elevate your style with a glamorous Party Wear Salwar suit. Look for outfits crafted from luxurious fabrics like silk, velvet, or chiffon, adorned with intricate embellishments and statement detailing. High-necklines, sheer panels, and trendy cuts can take your ensemble to the next level, making you the center of attention.
Saree: The Epitome of Elegance for Eid
The Saree is a quintessential Indian ethnic wear that embodies elegance and grace. For Eid 2024, opt for designer sarees in luxurious fabrics like silk, satin, or chiffon. Embellished borders, intricate embroidery, and elaborate pallus can add a touch of opulence to your saree ensemble. Pair your saree with a stylish blouse and statement jewelry for a truly glamorous Eid look.
Tumblr media
Designer Lehenga: Make a Fashion Statement This Eid
If you’re looking to make a bold fashion statement this Eid, consider donning a designer Lehenga. These exquisite ensembles consist of a voluminous skirt, a fitted blouse, and a dupatta, creating a striking silhouette. Choose Lehengas in bold colors or unconventional hues with intricate embellishments, intricate handwork, or modern motifs for a contemporary twist.
Tumblr media
All Occasion Menswear Kurta Pajama
Men can embrace traditional elegance with a classic Kurta Pajama ensemble. Opt for Kurta Pajamas crafted from rich fabrics like silk, brocade, or linen in timeless shades of white, beige, or black. Embroidered detailing, subtle embellishments, or contrasting trims can add a touch of sophistication to your Eid attire.
Tumblr media
Celebrate Eid in Style with SAMYAKK.com
Eid 2024 is the perfect occasion to showcase your personal style and celebrate cultural diversity through traditional Indian attire. Whether you choose a graceful Salwar Kameez, an exquisite Saree, or a regal Kurta Pajama, let your outfit reflect the joy and spirit of the festive season.

ragatha/agatha and pomni/penny human hcs!
(r)agatha:
is an english teacher!
yes she still loves horses. she used to ride them, & she loves old western movies.
owns cowboy hat and boots.
analytical and loves long & winding conversations.
has a very happy cat named sandwich.
patches her own clothes, doesn't have kids but if she did she would embroider their names into their belongings.
she still plays cello, she loves music in general, probably sings like an angel.
can't do any mathematics.
can drive, but like a lunatic. somehow has never had an accident though, so it's fine.
probably has a cute little baby blue/yellow car now, but definitely had a beat up offroader truck at some point that got put to good use. or maybe she still does, i'm not the boss.
total lesbian, a bit of a heartbreaker but not intentionally (women just keep falling for her)
goes to town/neighbourhood/community meetings. likely is/was in a knitting circle
absurd number of quilts in her home
pomni/penny:
is an accountant as we know, and cannot cook for shit as we know.
no pets she can barely take herself for walks. is more similar to a cat, but had a dog growing up. would love a collie or a dalmatian probably.
would name the dog something stupid like Thermometer Johnson.
she can drive, but nervously.
really quick thinker, like impressively, unless she's under HUGE amounts of stress. is literally always thinking at 100mph.
no sense of interior decor or personal style. all practical, kind of butch. really does kill a suit.
very much lesbian but not fully to terms with it. probably had short-lived relationships with men in which she was 'content' but didn't really care for it. seeing agatha as agatha for the first time was probably a crazy punch to her little gay heart. not to mention the cowboy gear.
autistic
watches 90s anime to wind down
listens to every single genre of music. passes a lot of time with headphones in, slowly making her way thru the entire world's discography
owns no band merch or anything though she just listens
can't sleep without a fan on, thunderstorm 12hr audio, blackout curtains, weighted blanket, water nearby
does not sleep a lot
both of them (going to call them pomni and ragatha for convenience):
didn't immediately recognise one another. i havent got an exact idea of how they reunited after getting out, but there were tears.
bonded in a very rare and unique way - they got to revel in the newfound joys of real life again. they got to eat delicious food, go on long, unobstructed walks in the real sun, be warmed by it, chew on ice cubes and shiver at the pain, listen to each other's heartbeats, listen to real music, read real books, smell soaps and flowers and sauces. they went to the supermarket together and read all the labels, and bought one of each type of fruit to try between them, and smelled all the candles, and touched all the blankets. spent a lot of time holding hands and kissing and i'm sorry to say, probably having sex, because holy shit, i'm real, you're real, we're real
now live together in ragatha's apartment, after pomni moved out of her small and confusingly-furnished flat.
both of them feel inadequate from time to time. this is resolved by a stern-but-loving talking-to.
sandwich likes pomni very much. pomni doesn't really get cats, but loves sandwich a great deal, and enjoys letting her sleep on her lap.
ragatha is very pleased to see her girls getting along.
ragatha cooks, pomni chops the veg. she often doesn't fuck it up
pomni cleans a lot as a 'thank you for letting me live here, i love you'. she's very much acts of service, ragatha is words & physical touch <3
they watch a lot of movies together. depending on how long they've been stuck, they might have culture to catch up on
ragatha wants to have a house with a garden one day. pomni starts germinating seeds from their fruit & veg like a weird science experiment. ragatha is delighted when she is presented with a baby tomato plant.
clothes are shared. ragatha's are bigger, but most of pomni's are ill-fitting anyway so it can go both ways. ragatha likes to dress pomni up in different outfits and have her do a little fashion show. pomni pretends not to savour the confidence boost.
pomni starts sleeping more

Their Favorite Distraction
Overlord!HuskerDust x Male Reader
Headcanons
TW:KINDA SPICY- SO 18+ PLEASE AND THANK YOU
A/N: Listen I saw Overlord Husk and Overlord Angeldust and thought why not put them together???? Listen, I am a simple man..who simps way too much.
Tumblr media
Let me set the scene real quickly, maybe you were a sinner or demon down on your luck and wanted to try your hand at gambling or you simply walked in at the wrong time. But once you got your hand into the gambling ring that’s when Husk had set his sight on you, whilst you were soaring with money lining your pockets. Going table to table, lady luck surprisingly on your side as you had started to get hopeful and maybe you’d be able to pay off your necessities for a few weeks with this type of cash. But you didn’t notice how both Husk and Angel Dust were watching, in hindsight you should’ve just stopped there and left with the prize but god the adrenaline felt so good and what could another game hurt?
A lot apparently, now you were sitting at Husk’s table, Angel Dust standing behind him watching you with a devious little smirk. You should’ve taken your winnings and left. But then..you wouldn’t have ended up with two very overprotective Overlord Boyfriends who adore you so.
-🎰 Like I said- both are very overprotective of you! But in a good way, not in the gross toxic way.
-🕷️ Oh they love to spoil your ass all the time, you look at something on your phone for too long or when your out and about with them? Expect it on your bed or at your door in a couple hours.
-🎰 Sit on their laps while they work? Yes please. Try sitting anywhere else they get pouty and grumpy, your seat is on their lap.
-🕷️ Want a new suit? Done, lean more feminine cause clothes have no gender? Also done. They praise you all the time.
-🎰 Most people think that these men are your sugar daddies, which in some way and how they spend money on you all the time..they wouldn’t be wrong. But no they are your very powerful and loving boyfriends.
-🕷️ They both own a lot of souls and know that they do but they don’t own your soul. They’d tear each other apart if they found that out and Satan forbid if another Overlord tried to get their disgusting hands on you and tried to own your soul..that Overlord is triple dead.
-🕷️ Husk? Loves when you and Angel blow on his dice before anything, you both are his good luck charms. You decide to play a game? Angel is beside you the whole time making sure no one cheats or gets too rowdy around you, someone pulls a gun? Husk is already on them, fangs and claws out. While Angel keeps you close. You get to decide the fool's fate.
-🎰 In Private? These two are the most cuddliest people ever. Laying on the couch watching your favorite show? Now you have two overlords cuddling you. Or maybe you're making a snack alone, not anymore, Husk is hugging you from behind and grumbling about something.
-🕷️ Oh boy the kisses? There is an endless supply of them anywhere you are. In Husk’s casino with him? Give him a goodluck kiss. With Angel in his office as he looks over papers? Sit in his lap and kiss his cheek, the stress immediately evaporates.
-🎰 Add little accessories that represent them? Maybe have spades embroidered on your suit jacket or have custom made jewelry that looks like a spider? Oh boy, their hands won’t leave you alone. Constantly touching your suit jacket or jewelry as they do their business.
-🕷️ Date nights are so fun with these two, they take you to clubs or very expensive restaurants or maybe you want to stay home or go out to the closest bar? Whatever you want, babycakes.
-🎰 If you get a little too drunk? They’ll pull you into their lap and kiss at your reddened face whilst they take your drink away. They don’t need you feeling like shit in the mornin’ especially if your busy the next day.
NSFW GET OUT OF HERE MINORS
-🕷️ Both dominate men, so good luck. Especially if you’ve teased them too much.
-🎰 Husk? Is shameless and will take you anywhere he can get you. In his casino? In his office or in the closest bathroom. He’ll have you bent over and screaming his name for everyone in his Casino to hear. To know who you belong too.
-🕷️ Angel Dust? He’s more of the one to fuck you somewhere private. Not because he doesn’t want to show how good he pleases you but that’s his sight to see and he wants to ruin you (in a good way). He’s also the kinkiest out of the two still.
-🎰When they both get together? Oh you’re done for my good man. They won’t let you go until the morning and your passed out from being fucked all night long.
-🕷️ Aftercare Kings, doesn’t matter what kind of aftercare you want to them. Just want to lay down and cuddle? One of them is holding you close while the other is getting water and some snacks. Want a nice bath? They got a big tub for a reason, Handsome~
-🎰 When you eventually can’t walk or get out of bed? Both men are smug as hell as you glare at them.
