The underlying concept of youth empowerment lies in the belief that young people can be capable of amazing feats. If they are exposed to exciting ideas and opportunities and have the tools to increase their confidence, they can conquer anything and anything.
An empowered person is aware of their abilities, self-determination and value. They are comfortable taking on new challenges. They are confident enough to take risks and recognize that failure is an opportunity to grow but not a reason to quit. They don't take the views of others as a guideline in their lives. They are steadfast in their beliefs. And they are aware of the strong foundation of self-confidence they can rely upon in times of difficulty or when they feel overwhelmed and require resetting.
Youth empowerment is extremely important. Ami Shafrir brings out several plans and ideas for children. It gives children and teens the confidence to be confident in themselves, not to be influenced by the opinions of others, and to pursue their goals.
Although some children and teens have an inherent awareness of "what is the next step" and the confidence to take action on it, most of them are drawn to their surroundings for the concepts, energy, and abilities to discover their capabilities and explore their abilities. Opportunities and encouragement are essential in helping your child or teen to break out of their shells and embrace new challenges and experiences. A caring mentor - a parent or teacher, caregiver or youth development professional is a valuable ally in empowering youth.
Here are some of the strategies to inspire a child within your own life
Let teens and kids discover their passions and talents. 
Inquiring about your child will lead to being confident. Explore books and movies together on various career options and pursuits, and discover the areas where your child's passions lie. Ask questions such as "Can you imagine doing something similar to the one you're doing?" When they take an interest in a particular field, they look into the different ways to build on their passion and build confidence in their capabilities.
Give them space and the confidence to exercise autonomy. 
Children and teens are natural contributors, but they often don't believe that adults expect them to perform tasks properly or participate in activities. Give safe, secure opportunities for your child to become self-sufficient and communicate your expectations regarding their contribution, for example, the toddler learning to carry their dishes to the dishwashing machine or giving a teenager the ability to decorate their home.
Be honest in your communication. 
Knowledge is power, and when we're honest and direct when we speak to children, this will help them increase their knowledge of what is happening around them and build their self-awareness. Armed with the knowledge to make them successful, they're more likely to be able to see the bigger picture and make better decisions without getting caught up in the details.
Believe in their abilities as leaders. 
Helping with school projects, completing household chores, and coordinating community service activities as part of youth-led projects allow them to determine the entire process from the planning stage to the execution. There is always an extra safety net in case they fail or require to be guided, but allow them to test the task their way. Afterwards, ask their opinions on what worked and what they would like to improve.

If youth feel at ease, they feel confident and confident. They are active participants and collaborators and eager to discover their influence on the world surrounding them.

The gender pay gap and gender equity in the workplace have been the pain point of the corporate world for a very long time.
Since the second half of the 20th century, women’s participation has grown significantly across different industry domains. Women are working longer hours and pursuing higher education in great numbers. However, despite this progress, women are paid less than men. And that is where the gender pay gap comes into the picture.
So, what exactly is the gender pay gap? What drives it? And how can the organizations address it? This blog post provides an answer to all such questions and more.
The gender pay gap is wider than you thought. In simple terms, it refers to the difference in earnings between men and women. It can be calculated in many ways, and it is found that women constantly earn less than men.
If you look at the stats, it is found that women of all races earned, on average, just 82 cents against $1 earned by men of all races. Similarly, female employees working in the retail trade managed to earn $632 per week on average, while male employees earned $747 per week in the U.S.
The above stats indicate that women's earnings are less in nearly 300+ occupations than men's. There are only a few occupations where women earn slightly more than their male counterparts, which shows the gender wage gap by industry. Women make less money than men in different industries in the U.S. According to the research from how much, median male earnings were approximately $45,893 compared to women, who made approximately $32,436. This shows that women earn hardly 70% of what men earn. Take a look at the visual below.
Women do not make less money simply because they work in a different domain or career stream than men or choose to become a mother. There are various factors for the biases in wages and compensation for women, such as:
Differences in industries or occupation. Occupational segregation plays a vital role in gender discrimination as well as wages and compensation. Women and men still tend to focus on different jobs and fields. Usually, jobs associated with men pay better than female-oriented jobs. Such jobs do not pay less because it requires fewer skills, but they pay less because women do it. Moreover, women's work is always undervalued.
The penalty of being a mother. Many working mothers felt biased in wages and compensation because of gendered norms and expectations set for them. Mothers who work full-time are paid less than fathers – even if they never leave their workforce. Moreover, lack of paid family, medical, and sick leave add more problems for women to work.
Years of experience. Since women are responsible for caregiving and other unpaid obligations, they have less work experience than men. As discussed above, paid family and medical leaves can help women return to work more easily.
Gender discrimination. Direct or indirect discrimination and bias have been the major pain points for women regarding wages and compensation. Many employers often make decisions for women less than men based on their prior salary. Women from one job follow this kind of discrimination to another.
