The Riftstone has now coughed up a Pawn of my very own design and choosing - someone who can fight alongside me, and hopefully balance my Wizard's Magic with brute force. With nice hair. 

...Then a Ser Berne turns up out of nowhere, with the offer of "Training" us to "fight as one"... And, maybe, that would have been great if he hadn't then put us into a showdown that was a bit of a nightmare to say the least - and a timer only he could see and knew how long it was...!

Still one of the funniest parts to me about people who insist 7x04 was about Tommy is that...if they're correct it makes Buck look terrible? This grown man almost broke his best friend of 6+ years' ankle, got jealous of a 13 year old boy (who he's also quite close to), dragged another friend to a basketball game as a shield, and apparently went so far as to try and get Eddie to hang up the phone on Tommy because...Buck didn't even want anyone else TALKING to Tommy?! And ALL of this over a schoolyard crush on a man he met like a week ago?

If 7x04 was about Tommy, it would make Buck look like a lovestruck lunatic entirely encapable of controlling his libido and interest, instead of a man forced to confront a dramatic shift in his feelings about Eddie based on new stimuli and handling it poorly because he has no idea how to act when he has to question why he's feeling so fervently jealous about his best friend's attention when that's never happened before, even when his best friend made some other new friends in the past (most notably Lena...a woman).

So in the effort to make their five minute ship important, they're willing to make the more prominent half of that ship look like an emotionally clueless wreck. For some reason. (Though maybe they like it that way, idk, so their big strong pilot can save the day)

I do love how all the different factions in Cyberpunk have me reacting in different ways when they come up.

Like, I try to avoid fighting the NCPD, not out of any moral stance, but because they're the only ones who can call for backup. They're massively corrupt and the good ones get pushed out, either literally (River, Anna Hamill) or by the toxic masculinity endemic to the force (Barry), so I wouldn't feel bad at killing them, but more trouble than it's worth.

Meanwhile Tyger Claws go down because of their universal poor treatment of sex workers, Maelstrom goes down because of their more sadistic crimes and the fact their aesthetic feels Neo-Nazi adjacent, and 6th Street's US Nationalism just gives me flashes of current US nationalists (despite Night City not even being part of the New USA).

I try to avoid harming the Valentinos, because they're Jackie's pals and I'm on good terms with other members. Similarly, while I've heard bad things about the Animals, the two times I've interacted with them have seen me take them out non-lethally (and having their leader being cooperative under interrogation), and Rhino being friendly to me before and after our boxing match. So I'm decently cool with them.

Not yet interacted with the Voodoo Boys, but given how they fried Evelyn Parker's brain, and I liked her, they're probably on my bad side from the off.

Meanwhile, the few times I've interacted with Arasaka and Militech, it's been stuff like Arasaka murdering a homeless encapment, or Militech murdering striking workers. Those guys die.

But if their label says "Security Guard" I won't kill them. That's just a dude getting a paycheck.

And then you have Wraiths and Scavs, who are basically generic enemies. I don't think I've ever interacted with them non-violently.

And if the Mox are after me, then I'm the one at fault. Will never hurt a Mox.
