Seeing your latest post. Do you think there is a connection with JJK 0 ending theme? It's title is "Sakayume". It's by King Gnu too.
Believe it or not, someone else in 2022 was intrigued by the JJK 0 ending theme being called Sakayume. Quoting this poster directly:
"逆夢 sakayume Is a dream that contradicts reality. It’s unrealistic meaning that it can’t or won’t happen in real life."
This song is then compared to the anime's ED 2, Cö shu Nie's give it back.
"I feel this song is about 逆夢 sakayume in a sense. The song speaks about “giving back the dream” It’s called “Give it back” and it’s like “give me back the dream” “what happened to rest of the dream and why did I have to wake to reality”  basically it’s longing. It’s longing to go back to the dream and not a reality that contradicts that dream. So when I hear this ED I also think of the movie’s theme song for them which is Sakayume!"
Keep this in the back your mind. It only gets worse from here.
Yuji and Megumi's Character Songs
Recently, I got this in my replies from @mizzi14-blog.
Tumblr media
(Here's a link to all the character songs with corresponding videos for listening.)
A translation for Megumi's character song Uchujin's Hakujitsumu (Daydream). From the last stanza:
This is not a song to just forget about the painful past This is a song that confronts the sadness The moon in the night sky waxes and wanes There are no stars in sight. But even in the darkness, tomorrow shines brightly And this is a song I share with you.
In summary, this song is about someone trying to confront their trauma but getting swept up in a daydream with their beloved.
A translation for Yuji's character song Kuchiroro's Itsuka dokoka de (Sometime, Somewhere). From the last stanza:
Nobody knows… Ah. The heart of my real self is so cowardly. I try to scream until I lose my voice. I don’t need anything… I bear a fate I still cannot accept. If I can share my feelings somewhere then I might speak about how my dream continues…
In summary, this song is about someone who feels lonely and isolated dreaming of their ideal world through the pain.
Y'all this diabolical. What the hell.
But wait there's more!
Sukuna mocked Yuji and Megumi's doomed love when he made the Enchain Binding Vow with Yuji using some ridiculous wordplay way back in JJK 11.
Enchain doubles as Megumi Activities. But let's break that down some more. (Unfortunately the Twitter account of the person I referenced may or may not be nuked so here's this screenshot I've doctored.)
Tumblr media
So we have the translation of Enchain from 契闊 (Keikatsu), which might be better localized as Separation.
This term comes from a Chinese poem about lovers who are husband and wife in The Book of Odes, Section I (Lessons from the States), Chapter 3 (The Odes of Bei), Poem 31 (Banging the Drum). (Here's a link to the full poem and context of it.)
In summary, it’s about a soldier who is on the brink of death, having lost nearly everything after being abandoned by those in power, lamenting the happiest days of his life with his love are ones he can never get back. (Hey that sounds just like what Sukuna did to Yuji!)
Keikatsu specifically comes from this passage:
“Our vow is beyond death and life”, I and you are together I always remembered. I will hold your hand, And together we grow old.
Too pitiful we are faraway apart, The distance separates us to meet again! Too miserable this takes forever, And it does not let us fulfill our vow!
Keikatsu is used to exemplify how the physical distance between the husband and wife prevents them from fulfilling their wedding vows. And that's just what Keikatsu/Enchain does to Yuji and Megumi, it causes painful separation neither of them wanted.
In Conclusion?
GEGE GREGORY AKUTAMI IS THIS JUST DOOMED YAOI ALL THE WAY DOWN?????? GEGE!!!! ANSWER ME!!!!

Megumi Fushiguro x Reader
Tumblr media
Spoilers for chapter 212
Megumi Fushiguro:
You're angsty, you likely listen to mid 2000's bands like Linkin Park/Three Days Grace/My Chemical Romance etc. or you have major daddy issues.
First Date:
You had recently transferred to Jujutsu High. It was your first day and to be honest, you had kind of gotten lost due to how large campus was. "Crap. How am I going to find my dorm?" You then saw a pair of dogs. "Oooo cute!" You reached out and gave them head pats and nose boops. Suddenly the dogs started barking. "What's going on?" You then noticed a boy walking towards you. "Are you ####?"
"Yes." The boy then took his phone out and started texting someone. "It's good that I found you. Gojo was wondering where you were and asked me to find you. I can't believe he's too lazy to do it himself... Anyway, I'm Fushiguro. It looks like we'll be attending the same class. Now let's hurry before he starts blowing up my phone like he's some sort of concerned father."
You later met Itadori and Kugisaki and the four of you soon became best friends. It was two months later and you were having a girls night with Nobara. "All right, truth or dare?"
"How do you feel about Itadori?" Kugisaki started to gag and then pretended to vomit. "Trust me, I definitely don't feel that way about him. What about you?" You blushed. "Oh. No, I don't have a crush on him."
"But you do like someone right? I mean your face is giving it away. I bet it's Fushiguro!" You then slammed your hand over her mouth. "Quiet! Do you want someone to hear you!?" She then began to laugh hysterically. "I knew it!  Alright, my lips are sealed. In exchange for my silence, you have to ask him out!" You felt like you were going to faint. "K-Kugisaki..."
"I don't know what you see in that guy anyway. He looks like he's the type to set oil slicked seagulls on fire.." You stood up. "That isn't true! He's kind, compassionate... He loves animals! You should see how he treats his gyokuken!" Nobara wasn't impressed. "Of course he treats them well. They're apart of his ten shadows technique. Have you ever played haunting ground? That's a good example of why treating animals well is nesecary for survival."
"...Did you know that he writes poetry in his spare time?" You had done it now. Kugisaki was crying so hard from her laughter. "NO FUCKING WAY! I HAVE TO TEXT ITADORI ABOUT THIS!" You sighed. This conversation clearly hadn't gone the way you had thought it would. Oh well. You now had to worry about how you would confess to your crush.
It was the next day and you had called Megumi and asked to meet him alone. "####, I'm here. Is everything okay?" You smiled. How sweet. He was worried about you. "Fushiguro... I'd like you to have this!" You pressed an envelope towards him. "What is this ####?"
"It's... a love letter..." Megumi then opened the note. Inside was one of the most heartfelt confessions that he had ever seen. Now it was his turn. "####, you didn't really think this would work out, did you?" You started crying. "What?"
"I guess it's not you fault. I mean who wouldn't want this body? ####, I could never go out with you because you're not even on my level. To be frank, you're weak. Now let's put this humiliating display behind us and move on." You were shocked. Was this really the same boy that you had fallen for? "Al-alright... Sorry to have wasted your time..." You then walked away so he wouldn't see your tears.
"That was easy. Man, she was worse than Yorozu! Well, time to go find Uraume and start that cooking show we always dreamed of!" You didn't know it but yesterday Sukuna had managed to force feed Megumi some of his fingers while saying "give your regards to the chef!" If only you had confessed a day earlier.

I decided to try and just for fun draw some of the new characters from a new upcoming project in a more "classic" cubic ghs style. in general, drawing in the ghs cubic style is very funny. I also drew my headcanon Second Guest in this style, and.... some nonsense with her, which I still can't explain- But mostly I just played with the color palette.

I don’t think you can isolate the kanji 夫 the way you can with 厨 in mizushi. In English, it would be as if we were to interpret the word “salesman” to carry a secondary meaning of “sales husband” or “sales lover” because the word “man” in English can also mean husband or lover in isolation, per Merriam Webster. Like that’s just not how a native speaker would interpret those words or construct a pun. I think Gege uses bonpu because it’s a specific Buddhist term, like Sukuna’s not only calling Gojo mid in a general sense, but also specifically a person who has not achieved spiritual awakening.
Prev Related Ask
Oho! But why not anon? Why shouldn’t I isolate the 夫 in 凡夫? Wordplay is a very flexible thing across all languages.
In English you give me the example of “salesman” -> “salelover”. And I don’t think that’s quite right. What’s going on here is much more like “red rum”=“murder” from The Shining.
(Spoilers below the cut.)
A native English speaker coming across "red rum" in isolation would not think to combine the two words and read it backwards. The context of The Shining is what makes us realize there’s more to it than “red” and “rum”. Upon reflection (in the mirror) the “red rum” becomes “murder”.
This doesn’t mean the “red rum” is only “murder”. The clever thing about this wordplay is that both readings represent something in the story.
The Shining is about an alcoholic man, Jack, losing his mind while isolated at a decaying hotel for work and trying to kill his family. It's his son that starts saying "red rum" early on in the story. (The hotel is also haunted because it’s built over the graves of murdered indigenous people and there's other supernatural stuff going on. I think that’s important to know too.)
Rum, a type of alcoholic drink, is a nod to the root cause of Jack’s problem, the alcoholism. Red is a recourring color in both the book and the movie that seems to represent a lot of things within the narrative. The red on cheeks flushed in drunkness or anger, the blood of those spilled within the hotel’s grounds, a warning sign of danger… “Being in the red” is also a problem for both Jack and the hotel’s finacial state. (And Jack’s mental state too.)
Murder is the danger Jack poses and the reason the hotel exists in the first place.
It’s also noteworthy that a child (Jack's son), who is probably too young to fully grasp concepts like death at the hands of a caretaker, is trying to communicate this danger in 3-letter words that aren’t understood by the adults around him. He’s also copying or mirroring what something else is telling him.
It’s a warning of what’s to come and why it is happening while reiterating narrative themes, but that requires both readings. There’s not one reading or the other, both are happening at the same time. And the only way we can conclude this is by considering the rest of the story.
And if you want to see really abominable wordplay that just breaks all the rules in Japanese, please read Umineko. It’s spoilers to discuss how insane and niche it is, but it make sense for the story because the characters are unhinged weirdos that enjoy screwing with people in esoteric ways that drive you and the people they’re tormenting crazy. (Those who have read know Exactly what I’m talking about.)
(Very mild Umineko spoilers.) Being able to solve the ridiculous wordplay riddle in Umineko requires that you understand the particular neurosis of the character that created it. This character loves both Japanese and English word games and literature. Even though the riddle is written in Japanese, you use that knowledge of this character’s westaboo tendencies to recognize that some of the kanji are secretly representing English letters. And those kanji have to be isolated and read a different way using hints contained within the riddle. (Aka no native speaker would think this way normally. There’s a good reason this thing didn’t get solved for YEARS. Massive Spoilers for proof of this. Shout out to the one person who managed to do it before the solution was released, well sort of.)
I’m using all these weird examples because this is the particular kind of freak Sukuna is. If it were any other character, it would be reaching. But because he is a literature nerd that bends and breaks the rules as he wants, his Dismantle and its kanji doubling as cutting to understand/solve, and the fight being framed as a date, there is a very real chance he meant the mid husband on top of the ordinary/unenlightened readings (religious connotations too). All these readings are to be taken at the same time because Sukuna truly is [redacted] Umineko.

Lest you ballet nerds are living under a rock, grappling with no internet, or trying to save precious data by limiting time on IG/YT/TikTok, we all know that medium allegro (not the grand allegro, as Rockette alum Sophie Silnicki calls it) enchainement that has been making the GARGANTUAN rounds on social media so far this summer:
youtube
Yup - that’s the FAMOUS “Pas de Balanchine” medium allegro enchainement from Berlin Ballet’s 2021 World Ballet Day company class, presided by ballet master Tomas Karlborg, who just retired from his position a couple of weeks ago!
Haven’t hammed it up for your phone/GoPro camera yet - or rather, need some technique-based pointers on this combo? Get excited - because Ballet For All - the adult ballet media platform - will soon drop a step-by-step tutorial on YouTube that breaks it down for you! So, get out your pointe shoes, Frances (but with your dance teacher’s approval, of course).
Tumblr media
While doing what we Filipinxs call “making hintay” - if you know what I mean by that - I have merch on the Big Z related to one of the ballet steps spotted in the above enchainement (and one Mr. Karlborg failed to mention): THE CONTRETEMPS!
I have TWO collections at the TFB for Safe & Age-Appropriate Dance Ed - for stationery and food items and lifestyle items - dedicated to the ballet step seen in the combo. And this pic’s just the tank top, customizable in any color you dance nerds wish!
Also in the meantime - comment on how many contretemps you spotted in the above combo! Oh, and speaking of Ballet For All, here’s the breakdown of it!
