How do you think the pack would react if they found out about Theo almost being a host/victim of the Anuk-Ite?

Hmmm. Probably depends on the person?

Argent I could see being very, very aware of the bullet they all dodged, because Aaron was a clueless high school freshman, and Theo is an incredibly smart, well-trained spy. Same reaction probably goes for some of others, like the Sheriff, Deaton, and even Derek.

Most of the others I think would be horrified, especially if this happened after Theo had become a more ingrained part of the pack. As far as I know, there wasn’t any “saving” the Anuk-ite hosts, and to realize it would have been a death-sentence—I’m thinking that would have shaken them.

And Liam? I think Liam would be pissed, because I think Liam would be terrified. He’d be mad about Theo not telling them, though I’m sure Theo would argue that there wasn’t any point, and I think he’d be mad that it—wouldn’t have been anything he could stop, not least of which because at that point, he wouldn’t have known it was a thing to stop, but also because—he wouldn’t have known that it would have been something he’d want to stop.

I’m not sure that made any sense, but it’s definitely an interesting thought experiment.

🐚: do you like or dislike surprises?

in general, yes! tbh it's been my dream for a long time to have someone throw me a surprise birthday party cause i feel like it would be so awesome. i think surprises can be such a fun way to show that you love and understand someone, but i also think it's super important to make sure that you're respecting people's boundaries when planning surprises. in reading fic, i always love a good plot twist, as long as it's not an untagged major character death or something massively triggering.

🥤: recommend an author or fanfic you love

i literally have over 1200 fics bookmarked so it's so hard for me to pick even a couple fics to recommend so i'm just gonna recommend some of my favorite authors. for thiam, my absolute favorite is @eneiryu, who writes the most beautiful incredible post canon fics i've ever read in my life and has written genuinely some of my favorite fics of all time. also for thiam, but with some really good merlin fics too, is @istalria. if you haven't read their thiam brainrot series, do it right now. @attempted--eloquence writes the most beautiful and poetic shit i've ever read in my life, i have in fact literally cried reading more than one of their fics. also thiam: @theoceanismyinkwell, @raekensarcher, @inabottlelikelightning, @chasing-chimeras, @honeyscapes, and @fallingforboys are all absolutely incredible. also to round out the rest of my most-read ships, for firstprince i 100% recommend @clottedcreamfudge, @kiwiana-writes, @hypnostheory, and @railmedaddy (who also writes amazing schitt's creek and 911LS stuff!) a recent fave of mine has also been @sighonaraa who writes the literal best ted lasso fics EVER

🍄: share a headcanon for one of your favorite ships

okay one of my main headcanons for thiam (obviously, since i literally wrote an entire fic about it) is that in the elevator scene, theo heard liam's heart skip when he said he wouldn't die for him, so he fully knew he was lying but didn't say anything because he knew it wasn't the right time. totally different ship, but i also headcanon that alex and henry get tattoos in each other's handwriting post canon, probably of their favorite lines from one of the emails or a line of poetry they both love as a way of reclaiming something that was stolen from them

I like stuff that has a sort supernatural influence of pack bonds and not just social/political ones. Does that count?

U: Share three of your favorite fic writers and why you like them so much.

I haven't been reading much lately and have a bad time remembering specific authors. My object permenance for people is... non-existant. I often forget that I have family and a half-sister because I don't actually interact with them at all really. Authors that I do remember off hand are @eneiryu and their ability to casually make a living breathing world in their fics. @manonisamelon for previously mentioned heart destruction. @li0nh34rt for being one of the first people to prop me up in fandom and make it a positive experience. I'm open to suggestions on fics people think I should give a shot though.

V: If you could write the sequel (or prequel) to any fic out there not written by yourself, which would you choose?

Does the Teen Wolf movie count? That's basically just Jeff's fanfic, right? I'm not sure this is something I've ever thought about or had an urge to do. Maybe in the future or if the author asked me?

9. Recommend something that you really enjoyed in 2020.

(I’m tagging a few authors in this answer, please feel free to ignore me! I just want to gush about your amazing works).

This is tough! I enjoyed so many things!! Especially if we’re talking fanfic, since 2020 is when I got into Harringrove and have read so many excellent fics in it.

Soooo…. I guess the first fic I read that got me into the fandom was dried up, half full by @lymricks. I think I’ve read that fic at least ten times. But really, anything by her is amazing. Also, I absolutely adore when the bones are good by @un-buttoned. Again, everything I’ve read by her is fantastic! But there are so many good writers in this fandom – everything I’ve read by @passivenovember, I’ve loved. In 2021, I’m planning on reading As certain dark things are to be loved by @thursday-knight, which I’ve heard absolutely amazing things about!! I’ve read way shorter fics by him and they’ve all been amazing. 

For Teen Wolf, anything by @eneiryu . I found their fics after I finished season 6 and have read almost all of them. But I started with i know all sorts of things i don't believe and have read it at least three times. Their characterization and plot is just phenomenal. Also, the way they just publish 50k+ fics all at once is so amazing. 

I only recently started reading Black Sails fics and I’ve really enjoyed so many. But I loved the straight walk home by @vowel-in-thug. I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve read by them, but I just love the au they created for this fic.

14. What do you want to do more of next year?

I already answered this one! But there are so many things I want to do more of in 2021 that I’ll answer again. I’d like to be more active on tumblr – sharing headcanons and snippets. I’m really shy and introverted, so I’d like to try to push myself outside of my comfort zone.

6. Did you have any new ships this year?

Yes! For reading, which is what I mostly do: Liam/Theo (Thiam) from Teen Wolf! Max/Anne Bonny and Flint/Silver from Black Sails! For writing (and this was my first year writing anything!), I helped @coffeeandchemicals write a Harringrove fic (pull me in close and let me hold you in) and I wrote a Hermione/Pansy fic (the curtains close on this idyllic scene).

7. What character did you relate most to this year?

Oooo this is a tough one. For writing, I felt like I most related to Hermione - I liked getting inside her head and trying to figure her out or imagine a universe with her in it. For reading, this is more tough. I find that I can relate to a lot of characters depending on how they are written! I’ll have to think on this more!

9. Recommend something that you really enjoyed in 2020.

Another tough one! 2020 was a difficult year for sure (and I know difficult for many of us) but I definitely got back into reading fanfic this year (thank you @coffeeandchemicals) for some escapism. I read a lot of fanfic from a bunch of different fandoms and there are some absolutely amazing writers out there!

After finishing Teen Wolf, I really enjoyed EVERYTHING that I’ve read by @eneiryu! Their writing, stories, and characterization just pull me so much! I started with the series we know all sorts of things that we don’t believe, which was absolutely AMAZING (cannot recommend enough)! I also really, really enjoyed constructed a world from the scars on our hands.

I plan on reading more Harringrove in 2021 and I might be biased, but I really enjoyed @coffeeandchemicals‘s you just happened to have a claymore lying around?.  But I am looking forward to reading more Harringrove in the future!

10. Share something that you learned in 2020.

Oh, dear. I don’t know if I want to go waxing poetic about all the mistakes that I made in 2020! It was a tough year (how many times can I use that word in one post?). I think, for me, 2020 was about learning to accept reduced productivity with myself. I had all these goals and ambitions last January and with everything that went on in 2020, I realized that I couldn’t complete everything that I had hoped and I needed to be okay with that. That is something that I am still learning.

I also struggled with assertiveness this year and standing up for myself, but I am realizing that these are important things to be able to do (so I am resolving to try and have more backbone in 2021).

Also, sleep is so important. (I mean, I knew this already, but 2020 burnout just made that so much more real).

So, there’s been a great deal of self-reflection in 2020 that hasn’t always given me the best view of myself, but I don’t want to stagnate, so it’s important!

This was a far harder ask than I thought it would be. First, I had to list the ones that I would consider my favorites, as I'm ridiculously critical of my own work. But here we go, in chronological order of completion:

Army of Ghosts: For as much as I have criticisms of the character and his partisans in the fandom, it might be weird that I choose a story in which Stiles is without-a-doubt the primary focus and Scott literally dies, but this story still hits resonant emotional chords with me.

Strawberry Moon: I started this crossover with Hannibal on a whim, and it turned out to be very satisfying to write, mostly because it allowed me to discover my delight at exploring the consequences of the original series in post-canon.

All Our Yesterdays: This was my first major work focusing on a non-canon romantic relationship, urged on by a close friend. The relationships just clicked in it.

No Better Tomorrow: Season 6A was the least satisfying of Teen Wolf's seasons (though not the most enraging) because I felt it never found a way to grapple with its central conceit. Rewriting it proved that my initial emotional reaction was correct.

Disaster Recovery: I have done a lot of defensive writing -- which I define as addressing and refuting botched fandom transformations. The one that I felt that was the most clearly successful yet the most creative was my defense of Alan Deaton.

Hopefully, if someone asks me again in a few years, I'll have just as much trouble deciding!

Thinking about the pack learning that Theo never graduated high school. I think they would be stunned and confused because he just knows so much stuff? He knows everything about biology and can speak twenty languages but he was never taught about Shakespeare and stuff. Everything he knows has either been forced on him by the Dread Doctors or he taught himself and I just think that would blow their minds

Most likely. As people I think we tend to walk around with a lot of subconscious biases and assumptions, a common one being that if someone is highly intelligent and knows a lot about a lot, they had to have picked that up in some kind of formalized way. 37: promote one of your own "deep cut" fics (an underrated one, or one that never got as much traction as you think it deserves!). what do you like about it?

okay so i really haven’t written many fics but i was super proud of this one, you weren’t mine to lose. it’s a buddie fic loosely based on ted and alexis’s storyline in season 4 of schitt’s creek, it’s like 6k words, and it’s definitely one of the angstiest things i’ve ever written but it has a happy ending! i had so much fun with it and it’s definitely not one of my more popular fics so i’m promoting it again

40: do you tend to reread fics or are you a one-and-done kind of person?

oh i LOVE rereading fics. i have to really love a fic to reread it a bunch of times, and a lot of times i just reread my favorite parts over and over and skip the parts that make me sad. i’ve probably reread every thiam fic that @eneiryu has written because all of them are incredible. a lot of times when i’m not feeling adventurous i’ll just scroll through my bookmarks and reread my favorites

I feel like I'm usually pretty candid. 😝

I: Do you have a guilty pleasure in fic (reading or writing)?

Something about supernatural senses (especially scent) is just fun in general. I like seeing it used in stories and like using it myself.

U: Share three of your favorite fic writers and why you like them so much.

First, I don't read enough, probably. That said these three have written fics that when asked, I always think back to:

eneiryu ("hope the winter goes easy on you") the casual world building here is just superb

@inabottlelikelightning ("when i watch the world burn, all i think about is you") it's so easy to see the pack doing exactly this after a big fight

@flyde ("Freed" and "Right Here") there's a lot of building emotion and intention in these stories that definitely left a mark

Bonus: @thecenturiestrickle ("Born Green We Were to This Flawed Garden") has a fic that made me reconsider my initial dislike of ABO content, though whether he considers that a compliment or not remains to be seen. lol

W: Do you like more general prompts, or more specific ones?

I do like specific prompts more, even though I usually don't go down the path of that prompt it tends to give a better picture of what the person would like to see in the story, so that I can still provide that intention even if it's not to those exacting details.

That is to say, I don't dislike general prompts, it's just easier to disappoint the person providing it by going in a direction they didn't intend at all.
