Membasuh - Hindia, Rara sekar
i impromptly wrote this while listening to Membasuh, one of my fave song (please listen to it i'm begging you 🔪)
Tumblr media

Freedom: A State of Mind and Being
What does freedom mean to you? Freedom is a concept that transcends mere physical liberty; it’s a state of mind and being. It’s about feeling unrestricted, unbound by constraints, and being able to do what you want, when you want it. For many, freedom is found in the simple act of taking a walk, a hike, and immersing oneself in the beauty of nature. It’s about feeling connected to the world…

Lena losing her patience and furiously berating Gwen for potentially endangering the staff members of the OAIR is quite literally the opposite of how Elias ran the Archives.
Elias used the Archival staff—as well as his Archivist—as pawns that can be readily replaced as needed. His patron offered them minimal protections at best (the Archivist’s privileges notwithstanding), and even then, he would never actually intervene to save any of them if they were in danger, much less take precautions to protect them at their headquarters. They are used as bait, as sacrifices, as currency, as objects. The listener knows, eventually, how easily he could discard them if his plans called for it.
But Lena. This episode showed us that Lena keeps her entire organization running through keeping her subordinates hidden, safe, and unnoticed by the Externals. It’s quite clear through her conversation with Gwen that such a safety risk has never happened before.
As far as we know, Lena has successfully kept all of her employees alive, watched them come and go, bemoaned the turnover rate, and then got them to look the other way while they documented and dutifully filed the horrors.
But most impressive of all, she’s kept her real work hidden from her subordinates, and her subordinates hidden from her real work—a feat Elias had no interest or desire to accomplish.

One thing I’ve noticed about people in or entering their 30s is they don’t make as many compromises anymore. If someone doesn’t meet them halfway, is not up to standard, is just not where they’re needed to be, they’re just like “ok cool” and they move on from the person. Which is not to say they’re less empathetic or understanding, but more that they have learned that time is their most prized possession and they’re not willing to make massive compromises on it. They are not obsessed w the idea of fixing someone (bc the concept of fixing a person doesn’t really exist). They simply move on to someone who is up to par. I want that. I want to always move w the awareness that time is my most priceless belonging and I can never buy it back. Ever. So I have to use it wisely

I'm still not over the fact that in the book, Aziraphale and Crowley are supposed to look 30 and 24 years old...
This is what they would look like

That's David in 1995 in The Bill and Michael in 1997 (not quite 99 like it's supposed to be) in Wilde.
Those are children! Mere babies!

Good day so far.
Made French toast for breakfast (trying to use up my mom's keto bread she bought on impulse but wasn't eating. Probably just going to use the rest for stuffing, it's not great.)
Packed a sandwich for lunch and left for the library early so I had time to enjoy the nice weather today and practice some contact juggling. Hadn't had the chance to do that in a long while so that felt good, even if I'm still not very good at it.
Now I'm at the library and getting ready to start my writing for the day. Aiming to hit 17k words total for my rewrite by the end of today, only need a little less than 2500 words so I should be able to.
