Are you not asking Taylor to completely excise Brittany (an apparent Trump voter) from her life? If not, then it seems I’ve misunderstood your criticism and expectations of her.
If you are asking it of Taylor, shouldn’t the same be expected of others (other celebs, readers of this blog, etc.)?
yeah i definitely think you have misunderstood!
on the pod i talked about how I don't really care if she sees brittany in private due to her near familial connection to travis but it's important that she not soften trump's image by palling around with her publicly while staying politically silent. if she wants to come out and loudly endorse kamala then I don't really care who she is seen with, in the grand scheme of things if she's endorsed kamala strongly she's done more good than harm IMO.
we've also had lots of conversations about how taylor is not a normal person and does not have a normal life or job. maybe it's unfair but she's at least well compensated for it. with her position comes great responsibility. far more than a normal person. we've talked about how many normal people have to have trump supporters in their life and how that can even be a good thing! but taylor isn't a normal person. obviously, behavior prescriptions for one of the most famous billionaires in the world with a huge influential platform that branded herself an activist 5 years ago will be different than prescriptions for the average reader of this blog. (although I have suggested everyone donate to dem causes if they can and to sign up to volunteer... we can all do our part!)
the issue is not taylor having a trump supporter in her life and I'm sorry if it came off like that.
the issue is brittany and by association trump (why do you think he tweeted ab her thanking her? it's not because he gives a fuck about her, it's because of her proximity to taylor) being able to use taylor's platform to propagate their message.
basically, taylor either needs to full throatedly endorse kamala (and there's still plenty of time for her to I still believe she will) OR at least take care to not appear sympathetic to trump's evil message. she's got to do one or the other.
there is a reason he posted this:
Tumblr media
taylor swift is good for business.
she catches eyes, commands headlines, and can swing votes.
it's her responsibility to make sure she is protective of her power and she must not let trump co-opt it and harm millions of vulnerable people if he gets elected. ESPECIALLY when she complained in miss Americana about how bad she felt for not speaking out against him.
the average reader of this blog and even the average celebrity has not released a documentary where they talked about how important it was for them to use their platform for good in the world of politics.
it's far beyond "taylor shouldn't be friends with a trump supporter." it's about her platform and what it's being used for.
so basically 1. i'm not prescribing taylor cut brittany out of her life and 2. even if I were obviously I would never say the average reader of this blog needs to do the things taylor needs to do.

would you ever talk about your original writing here? sorry if this is a weird question, it's okay to just ignore this if you don't want to answer!
Hello there! Thank you for writing in. For future reference, there’s no harm in asking, so don’t worry about that! I can always decline if I don’t want to talk about any particular topic. :)
It’s a pretty interesting question, and one I ask myself a lot. I’m not sure I have an answer yet, to be honest.
In theory, I really like the idea of sharing my real world (not fanfiction, not anonymised) work on the platforms I have. In part, because I like sharing what I create and I’m proud of it and it’s disappointing to think that there’s people who follow here who like what I do and might miss out if I don’t directly link it. For example, I have a couple of small publications already out and some projects in the future that I’m very excited for, but since all that’s attached to my real life actual full name, I’m tentative to share that info and basically doxx myself to every passing stranger who drifts through this blog. So that’s tricky.
Another part is just good business sense, you know? If you’ve got people who already like what you do and want more of it, it only makes sense to give those people an opportunity to access more of what you make. Those people are often your biggest champions in the early days of a work -- the hipsters, if you will. They knew your work before you were cool (n.b., you may never be cool) and they’re the people most likely to pick up future work, because they trust you as a creator, and also most likely to recommend your work to other people, which is huge. So much publishing (professionally, independently, self-published, zines, any project without a megacorporation marketing budget) gets a massive leg-up from word-of-mouth. Can’t flourish if you can’t be found, and all that.
Ultimately, I think what’s going to happen is if I hit a point where publicity and reaching my audience for my work is more valuable overall than anonymity (+ not being associated in my professional life with cat fanfiction, ha) then I’ll probably start sharing links to my real world stuff here when/if that time comes. I’ve thought an option might be a newsletter or something, especially if I ever feel I’m done with this blog? We’ll see.
As far as talking about what I’m working on/will be working on in the near future, I always have a lot of projects bubbling away in my mind (unbidden). Ideally, my next five years will be dedicated to making:
Novels
adult fantasy court intrigue-style novel duology, feat. a massively underrepresented (underappreciated!) fantasy race & the non-normative relationship + community models I’ve created for them
new adult (? not sure what the boundaries for these genres are anymore) fantasy novel that poses and perhaps answers a question that has always haunted and intrigued me for many, many years -- “what if Jesus Christ Superstar’s messy m/m/f throuple of revolutionaries was happening in a biopunk-solarpunk world and had some really fucked-up dragons?”
Games (TTRPG + other)
collaborative work with a talented industry friend on a science fantasy fusion ttrpg
short ttrpg very much still in early development about grief, history, nightmares, loyalty, faith, skeletons, art, immortality, regret, reparations, legacy, and dogs  :)
in my dreams: a functional CMS (construction + management simulation) game about haunted houses; in practice, as I have very few of the skills required for that dream: an illustrated guidebook for the game that does not exist (but feels like it could)
ditto above but this time for a CMS game about mythical + fantastical +folkloric creatures. Imagine Zoo Tycoon. But for animals that don’t really exist.
Poetry
get to the Australian national level for the slam
In among all this, I still want to be getting smaller poetry and short fiction publications out there as much as I can. I believe in that whole “aim for the moon -- if you miss, you still land among the stars” thing, so that’s what I’m doing.
Not sure if this is really of interest, but I hope it answers your question!

Everything You Should Know About Remote Staffing Agencies
Are you tired of the traditional hiring process? Do you feel like you're not getting the right candidates for your business needs? If yes, then remote staffing agencies might be just what you need! Remote staffing agencies have become increasingly popular as businesses seek flexible and cost-effective solutions to their hiring needs. In this blog post, we'll explore everything there is to know about remote staffing agencies – from what they are and how they work, to the benefits of using them and how to find the right agency for your business. So let's dive in!
What is a remote staffing agency?
A remote staffing agency business model is a company that connects businesses with skilled professionals who work remotely, usually from their home or another location. Essentially, these agencies act as intermediaries between employers and employees by providing a platform where organizations can find qualified candidates for various roles. Remote staffing agencies specialize in sourcing and recruiting talent for jobs that can be done remotely. Remote staffing agencies offer many benefits to both businesses and workers. Firstly, they save time and money for companies since the process of finding candidates is handled by the agency itself. Additionally, remote working gives access to a larger pool of talent worldwide which broadens the scope of potential job prospects. From an employee perspective, remote working offers greater flexibility in terms of schedule management which increases productivity levels while reducing costs associated with commuting to work. Moreover, it allows people living in rural areas or far-flung locations equal opportunities for employment without having to relocate. Remote staffing agencies provide an excellent resource for companies looking to expand their workforce with talented individuals who don't necessarily need to be on-site every day.
How do remote staffing agencies work?
Remote staffing agencies work by providing businesses with access to a pool of talented professionals who can work remotely. The process usually involves the following steps: 1. Understanding Client Needs: Remote staffing agencies will first understand the business requirements and job description. 2. Sourcing Talent: They search for potential candidates through various channels, including social media platforms and job boards. 3. Screening Candidates: Agencies screen candidates to ensure that they meet the necessary qualifications and experience required by the client. 4. Interviewing Candidates: Once qualified, remote staffing agencies conduct interviews with selected candidates on behalf of clients. 5. Matching Clients with Appropriate Staff Members: Agencies match clients with appropriate staff members based on their skill set, experience level, and cultural fit. 6. Providing Support & Management Services: The agency provides support services such as HR management, payroll administration, training programs and performance evaluations to ensure quality service delivery from remote staff members. Remote staffing agencies provide a cost-effective solution for businesses looking to hire top talent without incurring extra costs associated with traditional hiring processes such as recruitment fees or employee benefits packages which may add up over time leading to huge expenses for small enterprises especially those starting out in business operations .
The benefits of using a remote staffing agency
Using a remote staffing agency can have several benefits for your business. One of the main advantages is that it allows you to tap into a global talent pool. You no longer have to limit yourself to local candidates, but instead can access skilled professionals from anywhere in the world. Another benefit is that you can save on overhead costs such as office space and equipment since remote workers typically work from their own location. This also means that you don't need to worry about providing employee benefits like health insurance or paid time off. In addition, using a remote staffing agency gives you flexibility when it comes to scaling your workforce up or down depending on your business needs. You can quickly add or reduce staff without having to go through the lengthy hiring process each time. Remote workers are often highly motivated individuals who value work-life balance, which translates into increased productivity and job satisfaction. With flexible schedules and reduced commuting time, they are able to focus more fully on their tasks at hand. Utilizing a remote staffing agency helps with risk management by ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations across different regions and countries. The agency takes care of legal requirements such as taxes and visas so that your company stays compliant with local laws while still being able to expand its reach globally.
How to find the right remote staffing agency for your business
Finding the right remote staffing agency for your business can be a daunting task. However, with proper research and consideration of some key factors, you can find the perfect match. Firstly, consider the type of services that the remote staffing agency offers. Some agencies specialize in certain industries or job roles while others provide a wide range of options. Depending on your business requirements, choose an agency that aligns with your needs. It's also essential to examine their hiring process. A reputable remote staffing agency should have a rigorous screening process to ensure they hire top-quality candidates who fit within your company culture and values. Another critical factor is communication. Your chosen remote staffing agency should have excellent communication channels to ensure seamless collaboration between your business and their team members working remotely. Moreover, it's crucial to evaluate their pricing structure carefully. Ensure you understand all fees associated with their services before making any commitments. Read reviews from other businesses who have used the same remote staffing agencies as this will give you an insight into what kind of experience you're likely to receive when partnering with them. Finding the right remote staffing agency requires careful consideration and research into various factors such as specialization areas offered by different agencies; decision-making based on hiring processes; ensuring effective communication channels are established for smooth collaborations; evaluating pricing structures thoroughly along with reading reviews from other businesses who've partnered up - so take time exploring these aspects in detail!
Conclusion
Remote staffing agencies offer businesses and organizations a flexible solution to their staffing needs. The benefits of using such an agency are numerous, including access to a wider pool of talent, reduced overhead costs, increased productivity and efficiency, and the ability to scale up or down as needed. When looking for the right remote staffing agency for your business, be sure to consider factors such as experience in your industry or niche, the quality of their recruitment process and support services provided. By partnering with a reputable remote staffing agency that aligns with your company's goals and values, you can benefit from both short-term cost savings and long-term growth potential while maintaining high-quality work standards. So if you're ready to take advantage of all that remote working has to offer without sacrificing productivity or quality output - start exploring your options today!

Uncovering The Benefits Of AI-Powered Facility Management Solutions For Advanced Industries
Facility Management Systems (FMS) can be a huge asset for industries trying to remain competitive in the ever-changing market. With the introduction of AI-powered FMS solutions, businesses can now gain the benefit of increased efficiency and accuracy in their operations. In this article, we'll explore how AI-driven technology is helping advanced industries to automate and streamline their facility management process.
Introduction to AI-Powered Facility Management Solutions
The benefits of AI-powered facility management solutions are numerous. However, there are some challenges associated with implementing these solutions. One challenge is the lack of standards for data collection and storage. This makes it difficult for different systems to “talk” to each other and share data. Additionally, AI-powered facility management solutions can be expensive to implement and maintain. Nevertheless, the benefits far outweigh the challenges associated with AI-powered facility management solutions. For organizations looking to improve their operations, automate tasks, and save money.
Benefits of AI Technology for Facility Management
If you manage a facility, then you understand the importance of keeping things running smoothly. There are a lot of moving parts to consider and if even one thing goes wrong, it can throw off the entire operation. That's why more and more facility managers are turning to AI-powered solutions to help them keep things running smoothly and efficiently.
How AI Technology is Revolutionizing Facility Management Practices
One way that AI technology is benefiting facility management is through its ability to help predict maintenance needs. By utilizing sensors and data analytics, AI can keep track of equipment usage and performance. This information can then be used to create a predictive Maintenance schedule that can help reduce downtime and repair costs. Additionally, by incorporating machine learning, AI systems can continue to become more accurate over time.
Finally, AI technology also benefits facility management by providing better decision support. Through the use of data analytics, AI systems can help identify trends and problems that would otherwise be difficult for humans to spot. This information can then be used to make informed decisions about things such as building repairs or resource allocation.
Tumblr media
Challenges in Using AI Technology with FMS
The first challenge is ensuring that the data collected by various sensors and devices is properly processed and organized so that it can be used by the AI system. This can be a complex task, but it is crucial to get it right in order to have a successful AI-powered FMS.
Another challenge is making sure that the rules and regulations surrounding data privacy are followed. This is especially important when personal data is being collected and processed by the AI system.
Tumblr media
Lastly, it is important to ensure that the AI system is constantly learning and evolving so that it can keep up with the ever-changing needs of the facility. This can be done by regularly feeding it new data and giving it feedback so that it can improve its performance over time.
In conclusion, an AI-powered facility management solution offers many benefits to advanced industries that cannot be achieved by manual processes alone. Not only does it reduce costs, but it also allows them to maximize efficiency and enhance their competitive advantage by leveraging the technology’s predictive analytics capabilities and insights into customer behavior. Furthermore, such solutions provide a great platform for organizations to implement innovations quickly and remain at the cutting edge of products and services delivered to customers.

Is a website necessary for small businesses?
Tumblr media
The 2021 holiday shopping season was a good one for businesses online. Thanks to strong sales from Black Friday and Cyber Monday, online retailers reported an increase in sales of 15 percent from the previous year with Cyber Monday proving to be the largest online sales day ever, netting $3.07 billion.
However, only 51 percent of small businesses have websites, despite the fact that 97 percent of consumers search for products and services online, according to figures released earlier from The SCORE Association.
The disconnect between small companies and the growing number of consumers who vet brick-and-mortar businesses based on their online presence could be keeping entrepreneurs from millions of customers – and dollars. SCORE Vice President of Marketing Bridget Weston Pollack said, “If a company or a small business doesn’t have an online presence, they are missing a huge percentage of the population that could be shopping at their store.”
A website not only helps small businesses promote and sell their products and services, but it also allows them to distinguish themselves from their competitors, especially for customers who rely heavily on the Internet to learn everything about a company. This makes a website one of the most important business assets for sharing information, building credibility and standing out in crowded marketplaces.
According to a recent Verisign report, 97 percent of U.S. small businesses with a website recommend other small businesses also establish a website. Here’s why:
1. FIND CUSTOMERS
Verisign found that 88 percent of U.S. small businesses with a website agree that it’s made it easier for customers to find their business. Today, customers are constantly searching on computers, tablets and smart phones. A website enables them to find your company and learn about your business and what it offers at anytime and anyplace.
In today’s competitive online search environment, content is key. Google has revamped its algorithms to better serve user searches today, including rewarding sites that provide visitors with helpful content and a good user experience. This means that if someone is looking for a product or service that your business offers, your website needs to show up in the search results or you will miss out on potential sales leads.
2. BUILD CREDIBILITY
You can build a brand presence for your business on social media, but you’re restricted by the platform in terms of design, process and technology. A website can help small businesses increase flexibility, control, branding and credibility. Eighty-four percent of U.S. consumers believe a business with a website is more credible than one that only has a social media page. To be credible and attract new customers, a website can make a difference.
3. GET MORE CUSTOMERS
Ongoing business success oftentimes rests on your company’s ability to bring in new clients. Reaching thousands of people using only traditional marketing methods like direct mail or print advertising can be very expensive and unreliable. Getting online enables you to reach more people locally or outside of your region while paying less for the exposure—and you can even measure the specific results. In fact, 77 percent of U.S. small businesses said a website is a great way to find new customers.
And, it’s not just about gaining new customers; you can use a website to better serve existing customers too. The ability to update business information 24/7 on the Internet improves customer communication while freeing up time to focus on other business priorities. And with a branded email, you can begin email marketing, driving traffic back to your on- and offline sites and boosting customer loyalty with your brand.
4. GROW YOUR BUSINESS
Many small businesses aim to expand in the market and reach out to new customers. While face-to-face interactions can be important and business often comes from word-of-mouth, a website gives you a chance to “pass your card out” to thousands online. With an e-commerce store, you can sell items online and ship the product to customers almost anywhere in the world. You might discover that customers in a neighboring city or state are interested in your services, leading to a larger service area, and maybe even an expansion to regional offices. In fact, 81 percent of U.S. small businesses say that a website has helped to grow their business. With a website, you can reach a greater number of potential customers and opportunities.
5. GAIN COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE
The recently published Verisign report shows that 93 percent of U.S. consumers use the Internet for research before making a purchase. Consumers want to be informed about their purchasing decisions— what they buy and from whom they buy. Without a website, you risk losing customers to businesses already taking advantage of the online marketplace. If you’re in direct competition with another business that has a website, your competitor has a clear advantage—especially if they are effectively marketing their website. A website can help level the playing field.
Eighty-four percent of U.S. small businesses surveyed by Verisign said their website is important or critical to their business. More than half of U.S.-based small businesses don’t have a website, so there is no time like the present to establish your business website and get ahead of the competition.

not that i disagree with shunning harry potter, but i do think tumblr is a little out of touch if they think blogs on this half dead site are offering "publicity" to one of the most popular children's book series in the world.
social credit for harry potter really is never going to die down because frankly, those of us that care are VASTLY outnumbered by those that don't, which is why there are fucking theme parks and merch everywhere and movies and shit still coming out. from a capitalistic perspective it'll never die because its a goddamn cash cow, and tumblr users not spreading gifsets is not going to affect that in the slightest, I'm sorry its just not.
harry potter reached a point of social impact and relevancy comparable to a lot of other famous and hugely problematic works, only it suffers from the fact that the author is still alive. its not about debating how the work is mediocre, its not about debating whether people can consume problematic content, the problem with harry potter is that the author herself is a huge cunt still doing cunty things, and unlike the dead authors of other famous problematic things, and she gains the revenue from her series and the popularity and platform from that.
the people who care are already doing what they can to boycott and speak out, and its literally not made a difference. jkr is just getting bolder and more cunty and making just as much money. so no, i don't think some random tumblr user who draws harry potter (probably brown, probably queer anyway) is going to have the social influence to affect jkr in any way.
at best public opinions on hp can be used as a signal for your allyship with trans people, but you're absolutely deluding yourself if you think anti terf people are going to make a noticeable dent in the social influence of jkr and that series.
reasonably i think most remaining fans who aren't assholes are just waiting on the bitch to die so the characters can be reclaimed by the public (like the already have been, lets be honest,) and i don't think that's the part that's giving jkr her popularity, especially when her most vocal defenders by now aren't even harry potter fans.
jkr has become a monster of her own that's gaining a following based on her tweets and her new book, and harry potter only really serves to give her money, if you're buying her merch. otherwise its literally impossible to give her or harry potter any more social credit than they already have, and frankly i think the whole situation has futher associated her with her own book series than fans did before, just due to the discourse.
and I'm not saying that harry potter blogs aren't immediate red flags or that you shouldn't avoid hp content if you want to, I'm just saying someone running a hp blog realistically isn't contributing to the problem surrounding jkr and hp from that alone, and they're still fully capable of being allies or even trans people themselves.
the absolute dsconnect from reality people have by thinking that if they shut down tumblr hp posting that jkr will be dealt with somehow, when anyone i meet irl will talk about and reference harry potter on the regular bc its a household name cemented in childhoods, and most people are not online enough or care enough about lgbt issues or "politics" to give a shit about jkr and her opinions. to the majority of the world, harry potter exists independent of that women, and frankly it seems better to encourage that than have long drawn out discussions with people who do not care why you think they should stop liking harry potter.
i see on a daily basis an incredible amount of people who will never care about trans issues or me as a trans person, which means i see the same amount of people who like harry potter and do not care why they shouldn't. the best i can hope for out of them is that they don't look up jkr and become influenced by her opinions, in which case i don't want to be the one to bring it up in the first place. when something gets as popular as harry potter did in the first place, genuinely i think "seperate art from the artist" is the most realistic and productive goal; not for the purpose of easing guilt of people who still want to enjoy it, but specifically so she as a person doesn't gain the platform and popularity that her series is going to continue to have anyway.
there is a reason we block terfs instead of engaging them in debate, and the jkr/hp debacle seems to have ignored that in favor of constantly demanding the issue stay on subject, which in its own way perpetuates jkr's platform more than if we had moved on from the fact that yes, harry potter is still incredibly popular, and yes the author is a piece of shit. instead every new tweet every month causes the discussion to circulate, pushing itself as a hot topic so people can brag about hating it now and arguing to death why you should too, and I'm seeing people turn terf ally BECAUSE of that discourse, who never would have noticed the topics or thought to have an opinion on them before.
remember, terfism isn't one side of an inherent opinion that all people have on gender, its a violent rhetoric that people get indoctrinated into that's more dangerous than passive transphobia. i would 100% rather accept that most people are going to generally like the harry potter series and move on, rather than turn a widely beloved thing into a hot button issue that pushes the idea of terfism into the view of people who otherwise wouldn't have encountered it.

Real Friends
Valkyrae & Reader (Male)
Warnings: Swearing
Genre: SMAU, Platonic fluff, RPF (Real Person Fic)
Summary: Following an accidental and not very consensual face reveal, Y/N’s dealing the sudden shift of the spotlight on him even more than it was before. Being the big deal he is on social media, the internet has every right to be freaking out. Luckily, he’s got a friend to help him cope with it all.
Requested by @iawaythrown Hii! Thank you so much for your request! I’m so sorry for how long it has taken me to complete your request and post it but here it finally is. I’ve never written a SMAU before so this isn’t the classic SMAU format but I still hope you’ll enjoy it! Love, Vy ❤
Imagine you end a toxic relationship of almost a year and go to bed feeling like a ton of bricks has been lifted off you, like you can finally breathe properly and like you’re finally getting a taste of freedom. The very freedom you chose to lose by getting in the toxic relationship in the first place. Of course, I didn’t know it was toxic at the time, probably cause it wasn’t, but it gradually turned into a nightmare.
A nightmare that keeps haunting me even after I thought I had put an end to it.
Apparently, that was wishful thinking cause I woke up this morning to find an unbelievable number of notifications and messages from friends, family and my manager and associates. Being in the music industry as a faceless creator, I keep my circle tight and it only consists of people I can trust so to see them all freaking out at me at once, even the most level-headed ones, freaked me out too. Quickly, I opened the first notification I reflexively tapped on and it opened a post in which someone had tagged me.
A picture taken of me while I was asleep, no doubt one taken by my ex. That being said, I think we can all have a guess at who posted it in the first place. I didn’t listen to my manager when he told me to not allow anyone I trust 1000% into my inner circle. I was foolish and at the peak of my career, feeling on top of the world and feeling invincible which was rare for me. I’ve always been insecure about many things in my life, growing up with a lot of judgy people made me be that way. Not to mention that I didn’t want to be the victim of the internet’s racism either. People turn a blind eye most of the time, but it’s still there, it still exists and looms over all social media platforms, disturbing people’s peace left and right.  You see, I didn’t want people to have an opinion of my art based on my appearance or associations with other creators. I’m pretty good friends with many content creators, especially in the gaming industry, but I’ve never wanted to be put in a box as one of the many friends of someone famous. I made a name for myself without anyone knowing who I am exactly.
And now they all know because of this photo that my ex sent to float down the rivers of hungry social media:
Tumblr media
Damn am I gonna get an earful from my manager or what. It’s still rater early though and I’m really not about to deal with this drama on a caffeine-free brain so if there are any calls, emails or messages that need answering - and yes, there are PLENTY of them - they’ll all have to wait until I feel like dealing with them. I’m glad I don’t have to keep up this unbothered charade at home since I live alone cause I seriously don’t feel ok with this. I mean, I could probably report it, but what use would that be when my brand now has a face and a huge chunk of my privacy has already surfaced against my will.
As I sit in my kitchen, sipping my coffee, I finally gather the nerve to at least scroll through the notifications that I’ve received. Fans reaching out, relatives, friends, pissed off people that are there just to exist and try to disturb my peaceful existence but all they’re gonna get is a hard DELETE from me. I have offers on top of offers for modeling pending, waiting on my response. I’ve never considered it, being a faceless creator and all, but my manager will definitely want to milk some cash from this too. That thought makes me sigh in defeat. I have no one to blame but myself for trusting my ex. No one made me do it, no one made me let them in, but I still did, fucking myself over insanely. Just like they’ve now fucked me over.
Amongst the sea of notifications and yet to be opened messages, one in particular stands out and makes me do a double take. It’s a message from my friend Rae - Valkyrae, as she’s known online. She’s one of those gamer friends I mentioned earlier, probably the one I’m closest with. Her and I talk on the regular so seeing a message from her in my inbox is nothing unusual so I wonder why that was the one that stuck out to me. Regardless, that’s the only one I feel like opening and replying to at the moment.
V ~ Hey Y/N, you doing ok? This all must be really hard on you so don’t feel obligated to reply. Do so when you can or want to. I’m here if you wanna talk
Of course Rae would be the one to know how I truly feel in a situation like this. I can act and cover up all I want but she knows exactly what’s underneath the surface of my façade. That third eye friends have for each other, it’s incredible.
Me ~ Doing ok. Wasn’t expecting to wake up to this but now that millions of people know what I look like it feels oddly bittersweet, you know? Like I don’t have to go out of my way to hide anymore but I’m also gonna miss that privacy I had while I was a phantom
Me ~ On the upside: people want me to be a model now XD
My message goes to Seen almost write away, the Typing icon appearing shortly after the messages were read. I wait for Rae’s reply, sipping my slowly cooling coffee with little interest due to how invested I am in our conversation. If there’s a person who can make light of this situation, it’s Rae, no doubt about it.
V ~ I know what you mean. It’s not gonna be easy to adjust to but you will get used to it eventually. I’m sure you’ll even grow to like it. Promise you, it’s not that scary to be exposed, there’s literal millions of people who support you wholeheartedly :)
V ~ Us, your friends, are here too! Never forget that, we’ve always got your back, Y/N!
V ~ Oh and you really should be a model! Whoever’s saying that has got the right idea. Maybe don’t fear this new change, but embrace it! Take this new turn in your life confidently. Sure, it was out of the blue, but do you really want the person who exposed you to feel the satisfaction of bringing you down? That doesn’t sound like you at all tbh
The epiphany strikes me as soon as Rae’s words sink in as I read them. She’s 100% right. The last thing I want is for my ex to think they’ve won. I refuse to give them the pleasure of tasting victory on the expense of my mental health and career progress. In fact, imma show them just how much they benefited me. But first...
Me ~ Thank you so much, Rae. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this eye-opener
Me ~ I owe you one <3
I sure as hell owe her one, but for now I have other battles to win.
Rifling through my gallery, I find one more recent picture and without a shred of doubt or hesitation, I go straight to Instagram to post it.
Tumblr media
~ “Since y’all were curious...And since y’all wanna see me model, you’re welcome” ~
Within seconds likes and comments start flowing in like a riptide, taking over my phone that, despite being charged all night, is already at half of its battery life.
I refresh the page with the post to look at the new comments that have come through, all supportive and complimenting me, some are real thirsty and some are incredibly kind. And even in that sea, her comment still sticks out to me, making me grin like an idiot.
“That’s what I was talking about! Work it, Y/N!“

after school summons
[AO3]
or: Danny gets summoned. He doesn’t like it.
It starts with a tugging feeling in his very core.
Danny Fenton pauses. If there’s one thing he’s learned in the last year, it is not to ignore random things that are definitely ghostly in origin. He has just enough time to place his pencil on the desk from where he had dutifully been doing his homework—for the first time in two weeks, mind you—before his vision goes white, he hears a snap, and suddenly he’s not in his room anymore.
For a moment he’s weightless, lost in the feeling of falling. Then, his body jerks and he has just enough time to think, oh fuck—before he’s slammed to the ground hard.  His knees buckle under the unexpected weight and he goes down, clumsily, and trying not to throw up what little he’d managed to eat between homework packets.
“Ow,” Danny says.
He lies there, just for a moment, taking in the cool concrete underneath him. He tries to steady his breathing just enough so his mind can process what the hell just happened in the last thirty seconds. He’s still blinking stars from his eyes when he hears the hushed whispers echo around him and a heavy pair of footsteps approaching him. All in all, very bad signs when mysterious (and somewhat painful) things happen to you suddenly.
A gruff, questioning voice asks, “A child?”
“Oh, man,” Danny says, because that definitely does not sound good. Then he forces himself to his knees and looks up.
The first and foremost thing Danny notices is that he’s not alone. He’s on some sort of altar or platform, elevated a foot or so above the ground. A couple feet away, a group of no more than a dozen people surround him in a semi-circle, faces all covered by tattered cloaks. Another cloaked figure, dressed in much more formal robes with gold trimming, stands on the platform a mere couple feet from where Danny is. They all seem to be staring at him, waiting.
Danny hastily gets to his feet. He shifts a little into a sloppy fighting stance, just in case things were to get messy.
The dimly-lit warehouse room and the head covers don’t give him much to work with in the facial feature department, but he’s pretty confident that none of them are ghosts. Mostly from the fact that none of them are glowing and/or ranting about how much of a pain in the ass he is, but it still pays to be wary. Especially when Danny’s situations tend to quickly dissolve from bad to oh my god there are ghosts lose in Amity Park and also he maybe-sort of-possibly died in the process.
Which brings him back to his next brilliant deduction; he’s definitely in ghost form. He definitely was not in ghost form before this. His ghost form is rather obvious considering he sticks out like a glow stick in darkness of the warehouse. He doesn’t even feel the need to check his hair color, this time, but that’s more due to the fact that he doesn’t want to take his eyes off the weird people who managed to summon him from his bedroom and forced him to change into his ghost form.
(He desperately hopes that they hadn’t seen him change—weird warehouse people are not people that Danny generally associates with secret keeping.)
“Is this a cult thing?” Danny asks before any of them can speak. He takes in white line that surrounds him, and the red liquid (which he very much hopes is not blood) used to paint runes and symbols that circle him, and their weird cloak-like robes, and says, “This is definitely a cult thing. Oh my god, did you summon me? Seriously—”
Before this, he hadn't even known he could be summoned. It's just the little ghostly things learned via accident, sometimes, that truly take the icing on the cake.
There’s a tiny spark of anxiety in his gut, but honestly there’s a large difference between humans threatening him and ghosts threatening him. On one hand, he’d take weird cultist over Skulker’s lair any day. On the other hand, pure white walls and experimentation tables aren’t super high on his to visit list either. Worst comes to worst—before they sacrifice him to some ancient gods, more likely—he puts on his scary face (and maybe adds a couple of explosions) and slips out before they even notice he’s missing.
“Silence, creature,” the robed man snaps. Danny zeros in on him and immediately deduces him to be leader from vibes alone. Also the gold trimming on his robe, which very much screams leader of weird cult that summons ghost kids.
“I—okay, you know what? That was just rude,” Danny says. He points to the white line that surrounds him, “Is that cocaine?”
Danny has a feeling he doesn’t want to know the answer to the mysterious red liquid and painted symbols, so he doesn’t ask.
“It’s salt,” one of the other cloaked figures answers, like it should be obvious.
(It’s not actually obvious, and actually leaves Danny with more questions than he started with. Mostly in the realm of how did a group of cultists summon him with salt. He knows salt is supposedly an anti-ghost measure, but Danny is pretty convinced it has little to no effect on him considering the amount of Nasty Burger fries he’s consumed haven’t taken him out yet.)
“Salt,” Danny repeats. He pauses, then awkwardly tags on, “That’s good, I guess, because drugs are bad. Uh, don’t do drugs.”
A cultist quietly, and a little slowly, answers back, “We, uh, don’t.”
“Right,” Danny says. His eyes catch another section of weird in this already weird, cultist warehouse. At the base of the platform sits a variety of bones, so fresh that some of the muscle still clings to them. “Are those bones? Oh my god, did you sacrifice someone? That’s not cool! Murder isn’t cool!”
“Those are goat bones,” another follower says.
“Oh,” Danny says. “Well, I mean, that’s still fucked up on a variety of levels, but I guess that’s better than murder. Unless it's considered goat murder? Uh.”
For a second, there’s silence. The nature of the interaction is so awkward and oppressing that he almost goes invisible just to save himself the scrutiny of these random people and get the hell out of dodge. His curiosity is the only thing that holds him back—that, and the fact that he’s not quite sure if any of these people are secretly hiding ecto-weapons.
Danny very much does not want to be shot tonight.
He looks around the room, eyes taking in every inch of the sparsely decorated warehouse. There’s nothing that immediately grabs his attention, nor anything that really screams danger but it pays to be suspicious of his surroundings in his line of work. A few of the cultists notice this, and start shifting awkwardly as Danny looks over them as well.
Then, Danny’s eyes flicks back to the lead cultist and he says, “I’m going to be real honest here and say that I have no idea what the heck is going on.”
The leader makes no inclination that he acknowledges any word that comes from Danny’s mouth. Instead, he brings an old, wrinkled hand up to his face, like he’s thinking about some complex problem. The leader circles Danny once, then again, and Danny feels something inside him defensively coil like a spring.
He tries not to be bothered when people treat him as something lesser—it’s not, exactly, uncommon for him to encounter. He dealt with being shoved into lockers long before he died, anyways. It doesn’t stop his shoulders from tensing just the barest amount.
Instead of showing this, he brings his feet up to his chest and crosses them mid-air, and fakes a yawn for good measure. A few of the other cultists gasp in wonder and fear. The leader simply stops his prowling and turns to face Danny.
“So this is the fabled Ghost King,” the man says, like he expected better.
Danny feels he should almost be offended if it isn’t for the tiny detail that these cultists—who summoned him by using salt and goat bones—assume he is the ghost king. “…Did you seriously confuse me with Pariah Dark?”
The man pauses, and asks, “Pariah Dark?”
“Yes! He’s like fifteen feet tall, has a huge sword, is a pain in the ass, and has, like, an entire ghost army. I have, I dunno, pre-calc homework in my bag. We are not the same.”
Some of the followers in the background shift uneasily. Danny bares his teeth in their direction, just to see them squirm. A couple take worried steps back and Danny fights off a satisfied grin.
Hey, poke a bull and get the horns. In this case, summon a ghost-teenager and get the ecto-powers.
(He’s slowly becoming more and more aware that these people have no idea what they’re doing.)
“I see,” the leader says. From his tone, he definitely does not see. “It doesn’t matter. Our book summoned the King of Ghosts and that is you, so you will do as we tell you and your pain will be lessened.”
“I am still not the Ghost King,” Danny tells him. “And no thanks. I’ve already used my yearly cult sign up and I can’t say I’m thrilled to join another. If you’re going to hold an initiation ceremony, at least decorate a bit first. Uh, not counting the goat bones and salt, of course.”
“You have no choice,” the leader snaps and steps a bit closer to him. Danny merely raises an eyebrow. “We are the Followers of Infernal. We have summoned you to serve us. You are bound to our will and bound to our grace, as the book foretold. Now bow, demon, for we are your new masters.”
There’s a very large portion of Danny Fenton that is convinced any good karma he held in life did not pass with him during his death a mere year ago. An even larger portion of him is convinced that these guys are no more serious than the GIW is. Danny does not tell the cultists this.
Instead, he squints and says, “Alright. I definitely failed US Government, but I’m pretty sure that’s not legal. Don’t you guys need like, a permit to summon undead beings of mass power?”
“It thinks it’s funny.” The leader’s face is mostly hidden by his robe, but Danny can imagine the sneer there from his tone alone.
“Trust me, I’m not the one who’s a joke right now,” Danny says. He looks back over at the dozen or so followers and grins at them. They don’t seem too keen that he’s not following their master’s orders and bending to their will. He turns back to the leader. “What’s in it for me?”
“What?”
“If I follow you and stuff, what’s in it for me?”
The leader pauses, then says, “You will be spared of punishment.”
“Hmm, that’s not good enough,” Danny says. He angles his body so he's once again looking at the followers and points at one in the middle. “Hey, you! With the cloak. No, not you, the other dude. To the left. Yeah! You. What do you have to offer me?”
The follower looks so startled that he cowers for a second. Then, seeing as he hadn’t been reduced to a pile of ashes from Danny’s gaze alone, he reaches into his pocket and pulls out something small and silver. “Uh, I have a paper clip, your ghostliness.”
“A paper clip,” Danny repeats. “Yeah, sure, fine. Whatever. That sounds neat.”
“You’ll submit to us?” the man sounds so hopeful that Danny almost feels bad for being a jerk. Then, he remembers that they summoned him out of his nice, warm bedroom at ass-o’clock in the night and feels significantly less amounts of pity.
“No, dude, I’m not being your sack of potatoes for a paper clip. Man, you guys are stupid.” Danny rolls his eyes and floats just a bit higher. The other followers shuffle around again, uncomfortable. In front of him, the leader remains impassive as ever. “Where even am I?”
“The lair which you will spend the rest of your afterlife,” the leader says.
“Okay, this is definitely a warehouse, firstly. And secondly, dude, I meant what state.”
“…Wisconsin,” the man allows because of course everything terrible happens in Wisconsin.
“You chose the worst state to have your crappy lair,” Danny tells them. Now he has to fly a couple hundred miles home and hope he gets there by morning, all the while avoiding his creepy, obsessed arch-nemesis. He wonders if Vlad is even aware there’s a ghost-obsessed cult in his home state. Probably not. “Nothing good ever comes from Wisconsin. You can take that as, like, ghostly wisdom or something.”
“Hey,” one of the cultists says, offended. “The Packers are in Wisconsin.”
“Nothing good,” Danny repeats, firmly.
“Enough of this nonsense,” the leader says. “It’s trying to distract you because it fears control. Briar, bring me the orb.”
“Yes, sir,” one of them says.
The followers mutter to themselves and teeter around in their positions. The woman who spoke, on the end, bows and scurries off. Danny watches as she runs through the darkness of the warehouse, footsteps echoing around them, until he can no longer see her among the darkness.
“Hey, if they already listen to you then why do you need me?” Danny asks. The leader doesn’t answer, so Danny floats a bit on his side and puts his arms behind his head. “What kind of orb are we talking about, anyways? Like one of those Spirit Halloween ones? Or is it more like orbeeze? I can’t saw I’m super excited from your ominous it fears control statement, but—"
“Silence, beast,” the leader says.
Danny huffs. “I’m just asking. No need to be so snippy.”
The man ignores him which, rude. Danny’s just about to see how far he can test this guy’s patience when Briar comes back, just as quickly as she had disappeared. She jogs through the warehouse and up the steps of the platform. Danny can’t see her face, but from the way her hood moves to glace at him every so often, he figures that she’s probably nervous. Specifically about him lounging around in a circle full of salt.
“Father Johnathan,” Briar says and bows. In her hands is a glowing, silver orb. It really did look like a generic orb one would find in a Spirit Halloween. “The orb.”
“Your name is Father Johnathan?” Danny asks. He eyes the orb for a second, but doesn’t feel the tingle of ghostly energy from it, so he ignores it. He turns right back to the leader, not able to keep the grin off his face. “Your name is really Father Johnathan?”
Father Johnathan gently takes the orb in his hands as Briar scurries off towards the rest of the followers. Then, he sighs and says, “Yes, creature, my name is Father Johnathan and I shall be your new master.”
“Oh my god,” Danny says, positively gleeful. “I meet real life Papa John and he summons me with salt and threatens me with a Spirit Halloween orb.”
“Laugh all you want,” Papa John says. The nervous air shifts into something a bit more predatory. “You will not be laughing much longer.”
The cultists break into applause and talk amongst themselves loudly. They shift forward, eagerly, as if they want to watch the spectacle up close. They’re only a foot or so away from the platform when Papa John waves at them to halt.
Papa John holds up the orb. It swirls, the silver fog inside consolidating and then dissipating. Something inside it starts to glow the barest amount.
Danny pauses, just for a second, and watches it. There's still no tingle of ghostly energy coming from it. If he hadn’t already thought these guys are a joke, he definitely would’ve been a tad more nervous. As it stands, he thinks nothing of it—no ghostly energy means no control over ghosts.
(Unfortunately, he knows the feeling of ghost-controlling objects quite well. It’s not an experience he’s eager to repeat.)
The orb glows brighter, and brighter, swirling more furiously. The chatter of the cultists picks up to the point where they’re almost shouting, jeering at him. Papa John draws closer and closer, orb outstretched. He holds it through the salt line and touches it to Danny’s chest. The shouting from his followers almost becomes unbearable.
And then….nothing. The orb stops glowing. The fog inside stops swirling. It simply dies in Papa John’s hand.
“Was that supposed to do something?” Danny asks.
Papa John touches him with the orb again, a tad more forceful, so Danny assumes it was supposed to do something. From the panicked whispers around him, it definitely was supposed to do something to him. Danny’s honestly not sure if the outcome is due to him being a halfa or these guys being a joke.
(He’s willing to bet it’s the latter.)
“I think your LED batteries died,” Danny tells him. “Or maybe you mixed up your Spirit Halloween orbs. Better luck next time.”
Papa John stops furiously pressing the orb to his chest and if Danny could see his face, he has no doubts that Papa John’s expression would be livid.
“You will obey us,” Papa John says.
“No,” Danny says. “I won’t.”
“You will—”
Danny swings his feet down so hard that he cracks the very ground he now stands on. Dust kicks up around him as he stands tall, even though Danny’s at least two feet shorter than the leader in front of him. His eyes burn a brilliant green and he crosses his hands over his chest in an effort to look intimidating. The cult thing is interesting and all, but it's late, he still has homework to do, and Jazz has definitely noticed him missing by now so it's probably better to end this before they can get another object from a Spirit Halloween and try that instead.
It works, if the half-step back from Papa John is anything to go by.
“Listen,” Danny says, flatly. “Get a hobby and leave me alone or else you won’t like what I’m going to do.”
He makes his form flicker and the temperature drop in the room, just for dramatic effect.
Some of the followers in the background shift uneasily. A couple take panicked steps back. More than a few look ready to bolt for the door and leave this cult business behind forever.
Danny takes notice and stares at them, smiling wide enough that they could see his slightly-toothy grin. He makes sure his eyes flare, just a touch, and says loudly, “Boo.”
To say the cultists are startled would be an understatement. More than a few stumble back, a couple falling onto their asses. One trips on their robe and is sent tumbling. Another one yells and cowers. Papa John has no time to reign in the situation before two scatter completely.
“Peace!” Papa John shouts over the chaos of a dozen panicking followers. Those that remain do settle down enough to hear his words. “Stand down, there is nothing to fear. It is only trying to scare you into letting it free. It is trapped whilst it remains in the circle.”
Danny snorts. “I can leave any time I want.”
“You cannot leave here, demon—”
Danny raises one single eyebrow and dutifully steps out of the summoning circle.
The warehouse erupts into chaos.
The cultists are yelling now, but this time there’s only because of fear. They scatter over each other, running and tripping over their obnoxiously long cloaks. A couple trample the goat bones to the point where several loud snaps are heard over the pandemonium. It only adds more fuel to the fire as less than a dozen people scramble to get as far away from the platform—and subsequently the ghost-kid—as possible.
“Do better than a paperclip, next time!” Danny calls out to them. They only seem to run faster at the sound of his voice.
Papa John is the only one who doesn’t run. He had stumbled off the platform and away from Danny the second that Danny made it over the salt line. However, in the disarray, he had been knocked to the ground, his orb lay broken at his feet, and his robe’s hood had been yanked off and left on the ground beside him. He sits, frozen, but Danny doesn’t know if it’s from shock or from fear.
Danny takes a step closer to him.
“How…?” Papa John whispers. He’s not looking at Danny—only his old, wrinkled hands. He’s bald, with brown eyes. He looks like nothing more than any generic old man that Danny would see at a grocery store on Sunday afternoon. “We followed the book. We…we took every precaution the book said. We were supposed to have the perfect slave, bound to our every word. We…”
“That didn’t work out too well for you, huh?” Danny says and crosses his arms over his chest. “It’s ‘cause you forgot the dunce cap when you decided to be the class clown.”
“Please,” Papa John says. “Spare me.”
There’s something wrong about this—seeing a human beg for his life at Danny’s feet. Danny doesn’t want to be feared. He never has wanted to be feared.
He presses his lips together and takes a single step back. Some part of him, though, knows that he desperately needs to make his point clear to avoid another situation like this (likely with more weapons, next time).
“I warned you,” Danny says softly. His voice echoes around the warehouse. The man below him shivers in terror. “Do not summon me again, or I won’t be so nice next time.” He pauses, just for a second and can't help but tag on, "Papa John."
He lets his threat linger and hopes the man takes it seriously enough that he won’t get summoned again. Then, the cool strings of invisibility wrap around his body and he disappears from sight. Danny takes one look at the man left on the floor before he shakes his head and shoots up into the Wisconsin night sky. He doesn't hear the shouted response of it's Father Johnathan from several hundred feet below him on the warehouse floor.
Danny waits about all of thirty seconds before he reaches into his pocket and pulls out his phone.
"Jazz? Hey, yeah, I'm fine. Yes, seriously, I'm fine but you are not going to believe what I just went through—"

Noncon stories, Fantasy vs. Reality, and more. fucking. issues.
Recently, I’ve been hit with some drama as to why I’m a “bad person” by various, anonymous users in this fandom. I thought I’d try to address the claim, address my stance on fics that involve noncon, and what I think about the “Tumblr mentality” after everything I’ve seen of this place. I should also note that I’m going to use the specific words and phrases I’ve been forced to constantly repeat as explaining my stance has been very difficult for me, as I’m a person who’s apparently challenging to understand.
This is going to be a long post, with subjects that's obviously going to trigger people so here's a warning right now..
That being said, I’m going to dive into this with some shit I’ve definitely said before:
“Consensual Noncon” Kink
The Appeal of this Theme in Fanfiction:
I don't think calling fics that involve noncon "rape fics" and those who enjoy it "getting off to rape" is a very good way to put it. Many engaging and well done media pieces often involve some very dark themes. Again, Monster by Meg and Dia is a song that features the main character sexually abusing a girl he met. You COULD call this a "rape song", but acting as if the rape is the only thing that matters in this story would be pretty..naive. The story has to do with an emotionally, and physically neglected/abused boy, who grows up and becomes an attention/love starved monster who's SO starving for validation, that he believes forcing himself upon a girl he knew would "prove" to himself that he's capable of being touched and loved. Of course, the main character eventually realizes that rape is not love, that what he did was wrong, and later kills himself in his own bathtub with kerosene and a match.
However, the assault aspect of this song is still a meaningful and alluring part because it talks about how emotional and physical abuse can warp someone's perspective on reality, to the point where they think forcing someone to "stay" with them is how to create a healthy relationship. That's the same energy I have for noncon fics, especially in the slasher fandom. Many slasher fics that contain noncon often have to do with the slasher preying on the reader because of their own fucked up mind. It's intriguing because, let's be honest, pretty much none of the slashers are in a pretty good mental space lmao. Thus, noncon actually falls more in line with how slashers would go about what they believe is a "good relationship" more often than quite a bit of fans here seem to believe. Again, Michael got boners, Jason chained someone up, Fredddy smooches people against their will, Billy Lenz is a sex offender, Chromeskull makes snuff, yada yada yada, you know the drill. That being said, it's interesting to see noncon being expressed with these characters because it gives us a new perspective on how fucked up they'd likely be if the world of sex and relationships was introduced to these characters.
Now why would some people become sexually aroused by the events of the story? First of all, how does “Consensual Noncon” kink work?
u/Jumbledcode. (2015). ‘Can anyone comment on why people (someone like me) enjoy rape/non-con story lines?’. r/TwoXChromosomes.
“I'd suggest that there are several factors that make up the appeal of non-con fantasies.
Guilt/Self-image: For many people, their sexual/relationship desires don't necessarily match their image of themselves, or alternatively they feel guilt over others' perceptions of those desires. Rape fantasies allow them to mantain some illusion of denial over their desires while still indulging in the idea of them.
Responsibility/Laziness: The appeal of abdicating control isn't limited to avoiding guilt; it's very tempting to want a scenario where you have no responsibility for maintaining your lifestyle/happiness. Similarly to before, it's the appeal of being given what you secretly want without even having to choose it.
Transgressiveness: A rape scenario has overtones of danger and taboo-breaking. These can easily be exciting and can therefore be a turn-on.
Desire: Being wanted is often a huge turn-on, and the idea of someone desiring you enough to break laws and disregard everything to have you plays into this feeling.
To me, it seems that most people who fantasize about being the subject of rape do so due to some mix of these motivations I've mentioned. Of course, there are also those who have experiences which have taught them to associate non-consent with their sexuality, but that's a separate issue”.
What if the Fanfic Only Involves the Act though? Wouldn’t it Encourage Actual Rape?
Let’s differentiate fantasy and reality. Towards those with the noncon kink: it offers arousal because of the ideas listed above (the idea of the reader not having to make any moves and the character doing the “intimate work” FOR them, the excitement of such a taboo sexual encounter, and the feeling to be desired through an altered, brutish encounter). Rape is the use of sex to remove control over the victim’s mind and body. The readers DO have control over whether or not they get to “encounter” (the choice to even read) this fantasy, so right away consent is present in reality, and no actual rape is being done.
Now does this mean that the kinkers are getting off on the idea of rape? Not really.
The thing with self-inserts is that it allows you to be connected to the story. That way, even if the story has you bruised up and begging for mercy, a part of you-you (if you’re a kinker) wants to keep reading it as you find it exciting. That way, as you and story-you are connected, what you really want in such a fantasy is for it to keep going despite the brutish, possessive, however yet desired nature of the character you’re dreaming about dealing with. (repeat: the idea of the reader not having to make any moves and the character doing the “intimate work” FOR them, the excitement of such a taboo sexual encounter, and the feeling to be desired through an altered, brutish encounter). That being said, it’s still entirely possible for kinkers to have their personal space and wishes crossed, and ultimately assaulted. Us enjoying the fantasy of such a reverie sexual encounter does not spell out to real life because (in reality) we’re not horny all the time, we would still like our bodies to be respected when we find it necessary, and we still have feelings as we’re still human.
“Fantasy (including video games) leads to violence” fallacy.
It would be like assuming that shooters in games like GTA fantacise about murder, encourage it, and would do it in real life. Taking fabricated anger out on virtual bodies or NPCs is quite different from the weight of murder (the killing of another human being). One can play video games with lots of violence towards such fabricated characters, while discouraging violence towards human beings. The act of using a game controller to beat up Donkey Kong in Smash, to shoot Nazi zombies in a Black Ops game, or to kill a Geisha in Little Nightmares is incredibly, and immensely different from completely eradicating the life of a person on Earth, and to assume that everyone who plays violent video games would spill out to violence in reality would be to participate in a ridiculous fallacy. Yes, there are outliers who are feeble minded enough to let their fantasies influence their actions towards actual people, but I must repeat that there are also people who utilize these fantasies for their personal satisfaction, while understanding the weight of the real world around them (and choosing not to act so detrimentally). Therefore, it wouldn’t be fair as it would be unnecessary to blatantly say that all fantasies are horrible and should be entirely eradicated if there ARE many people who ARE aware enough to understand that some thoughts are better off staying in fiction.
Now is the time to address what’s been said:
Tumblr media
...Firstly, I think it’s very disgusting that random users, on Tumblr of all places, are trying to manipuate random victims of sexual assault into hating something or someone just because these users FEEL like “it’s the right thing to do”.. People, victims of sexual assault aren’t your fucking dogs. They’re not carriage horses, they’re not your work mules, they’re not your guns and swords...they’re just people who normally wanna be left the fuck alone like everyone else. Plus, there ARE people who have experienced sexual assault who take joy in reading such dark storylines. What would these users have to say to them? That they’re not “real” victims? That what they’ve experienced “never happened”? That they’re “just like” their own perpetrators for using the consensual nonconsent to miraculously help them overcome their trauma? Should they really abandon their coping mechanism just because there are other victims who cope in different ways?
..If you seriously believe that all people who have gone through a traumatic event are gonna cope in the exact same fucking way, you literally don’t even know enough about PTSD to even be making a bold statement about cope.
This is the part where I finally realized that people, and especially those on Tumblr, don’t actually care about rape victims as much as they may claim. Many users on here, on this platform and in this fandom, don’t truly give a flying monkey shit about rape victims as people, nor what they have to say about the subject. Rape victims..on this place..seem to be used mainly as a means of figurative weaponry for a group’s subjective morality.
I find the similarity close to radical feminism. Radical feminists often believe that women, from near and far, have to do everything in their power to “destroy” the patriarchy. This would mean disobeying the societal expectation of women, even if there are some women who take joyment in engaging in some societal standards for their personal liking. An example would be sex work. Radical feminists acknowledge the flaws in performing sex work, but believe that NO woman should EVER partake even if the woman wants to do it out of her own free will. In demonizing and ostracizing any woman who doesn’t fall into the radical feminist agenda, radical feminists actually contradict their purpose to “let women be free”. At this point, you realize that radical feminists often don’t actually give a fuck about what any woman wants for herself. Instead, radical feminists want to utilize any woman they can find just to flip off men as a group.
In Tumblr users trying to “stand up” for rape victims for their personal “holier-than-thou” ego, they fail to care enough about the very people they defend to understand the dynamics of some of their coping mechanisms, thus begin to bully some members of the group they claim to protect because of the very narcissism, misunderstanding, and controlling nature going on behind their own “activism”. So now that some users have found something to hate, in this case being noncon stories, they attempt to manipulate victims of rape into ostraciszing and demonizing fantasies and other victims of rape just because the “activists” themsleves don’t like it. Even trying to argue that rape victims have a “duty” to agree with everything these “activists” try to do for them.
Sounds awfully familiar to the attitude democrats have towards any minority when it’s time to vote. “I care about you...but you have to agree with everything I say and believe because I want what I think is best for you. If you disagree with me, you’re ungrateful and a traitor”.
Now...a little about myself.
I’m not sure of everyone else who’s into the noncon type of story, but I use it to get away from my past. In noncon stories, I want to read what happens in the chapters. I want to imagine them for morbid curiosity and arousal I feel at the time being. In reality, my attackers didn’t care when I wasn’t in the mood, and never gave me a choice. In noncon stories, I get to choose the character I want to encounter in the fantasy and NOT have it picked FOR me. In real life, I didn’t get to choose who did some things to me. In noncon stories, I get to stop reading them and do something else whenever I’m not feeling it anymore. In reality? My attackers kept going because, in the situation, it was no longer up to me. After noncon stories, my body doesn’t walk away with bruises, bite marks, and physical reminders every time I take my clothes off or try to masturbate. In real life...that shit can mark you, disease you, and then traumatize you. With the stories, I get to delete my search history, join another fandom, and act like nothing ever happened. For reality? Your own body is a reminder of what happened because it was real. In reality, I’m NEVER gonna fucking forget what happened. I’ll be lucky if my own mind and body doesn’t haunt me for at least one day..
So seeing that someone, and probably multiple people not only tried to use victims of sexual assault for their own “go get em” dogs, but to try and phrase me as someone who loves and encourages such an assault on human beings? After the things I felt? After the things I tasted? After pathetically searching for the support of relatives, just to get shut down with “you’re lying”?..
...All the times I've been held down..threatened..clothes getting snagged off..parts being opened and touched after I've fought to just get the fuck away from certain people...
According to this anon..."she likes rape".
...I guess I just fucking LOVED EVERYTHING THEN.
You know...all my life I’ve been misunderstood by many people. It’s honestly really disappointing that even now when I’m better at explaining myself than ever, I’m STILL being phrased as a “psychopath” by random people who haven’t even taken the time to even know me. Not even from a minute-long conversation through a damn computer screen. And you wanna know the funny thing? I’m probably being laughed at as this is being read. Some of these users, these internet stalkers, are probably giggling, smiling, and saying “Haha YES we GOT the bitch!! Cry you piece of shit SLUT!!”. So maybe explaining my past experiences to help everyone understand why some people may use noncon stories to their fantasy advantage is gonna land me messages going: “You haven’t been raped you lying bitch”, “Maybe you should get raped again”, “You definitely enjoyed it”, and the overused, yet strong “Kill yourself”.
So how am I gonna end this message? With me saying that many of you, who THINK you’re doing the right thing by justifying harassment and trying to manipulate others into joining your little crusade to bully people away from the fandom (over extremely mundane fucking things)...aren’t really good people. At best, in this case...you’re fucking stupid. You will never truly speak for any of the marginalized groups you claim to know like the back of your hand. Simply, you will never. be. a hero.
If by chance, by an astrological chance..that any random user wants to come up and apologize out of the blue for talking such shit and for saying such things..I don't even wanna hear it...just get the fuck out of my face..

is it me or does china or those so call companies celebrities are signed under needs to do more to protect actors, idols and etc? And I say china because I know celebrities bring a lot of business to china, so they should do more to protect them as well, whether it be a law where fans need to be at a certain distance from celebrities or make it illegal to camp outside their hotels, I don’t need to know when GG or DD goes to work or return, like they legit camp outside to see them pass them
Hello Anon! I would answer all parts of your ask here. looks like there are three sections to this.
I’ll be keeping everything under a cut and just a disclaimer that this is from my own research and opinions.
So what laws are there and what part do ‘Celebrities’ play in the Country?
• An important point I wanna start this answer with is that celebrities in China are very different, in terms of they have values they have to uphold if they wanna continue being allowed to be on air and work. In other countries, of course, a celebrity’s image is still something to watch out for, but it’s not like they are gonna be blacklisted. some of the guidelines they have to follow released fairly recent as follows :
should not "violate ethics, morals, social public order or good customs, causing serious negative social impact"
should not incite hatred and discrimination between ethnic groups, or promote cults and superstitions.
not organise, take part in or promote illegal activities such as pornography, gambling, drugs and violence, among other activities.
There are actors who were blacklisted and had to take a hiatus. At one point, people did support comeback stories but CHN is pushing stricter sanctions for those who fall in this category. They have to submit an application to China Association of Performing Arts (CAPA) if they even plan to make a comeback and be evaluated before they can continue. Also take a look at the recent issue with Xianjiang Cotton and how celebrities were quick to voice out their support and drop the endorsements. It’s part of their job. It’s part of the values they have to uphold. The sense of virtue before arts. They are expected to be more morally upright than the common people.
I wanna start with this for you to understand what’s it like to be a star in CHN. And for GG and Web who are very very popular. If you do a quick search, you will find that there are more rules to control how these celebrities present themselves vs. protecting them. The way I see it, it’s even more dangerous for them to have a dedicated following more than anything. They cannot be so popular that they eclipse certain messages that the gov’t wants to send. There are more laws on online hate and slander against celebrities than the physical suppression of these stalkers. The concept of: The fans reflect the celebrities. This is the infuriating side to this. It is the same challenge GG faced during and post 22*. The logic of: ‘xx fans are causing trouble by blocking airport entrance is the idol’s fault’ . In one such incident, GG was the one who apologized. his team did ban airport photos but he still had to apologize personally to people on the plane. During his shoot with Ace, he had to apologize to the director and crew cause people were camping and taking photos. You see where I’m going here Anon?
The general rules in photos and videos is that it can be taken provided that it’s in a public area. This is why Web, during the shooting of LOF kept pointing out people who were taking pictures to authorities. Earning him the title of Hengdian Hawkeye. There are no iron clad rules to protect them. These celebrities often have to hire lawyers and security team to enforce their privacy. This is where their companies come in. but tbh yh and wjjw did next to nothing in protecting them. It’s their own studios. their own dedicated team that’s doing the work.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
who are these people following them?
• The type of fans that you are describing, going to the lengths of putting tracking devices and even secret cameras are sishengs. This is not limited to GG and Web only, it’s a problem for other celebrities too and not just with Chinese fans. For example in Korea, the counterpart to this is sasaeng. They are private life fans. They thrive on sharing personal information, even as far as an address. I don’t see this culture stopping anytime soon. We have more hope on addressing online slander and harmful rumors than erasing sishengs. I’m just being realistic here. The audience to this kind of material is huge and it’s even making it’s way to international platform. It’s the concept of wanting exclusive information. being the first to know a news or a filming tidbit and so on.
I also just wanna add that people you see taking pictures of let’s say at airports in Web’s case or when he’s off to DDU are not exactly sishengs. Some of them are even fansites. provided that it’s a public schedule and he one time even acknowledged them when they greeted him happy bday. Tho they CLEARLY DO NOT WANT to be photographed when filming dramas ( going to and leaving ) + airports.
what can we do as fans?
• I think you answered that Anon. We know what’s right. We know what not to share. It’s hard especially if you see it on your feed, just don’t share it again and distribute to more people. If you notice someone sharing, don’t be so hostile, you can inform them nicely. block sisheng accounts. don’t give them the audience that they want. I know we can be guilty of this at one point or another, knowing flight details and so on. It’s a hard practice to remove but we have to try very hard to not be tempted.
This is why GG and Web are really sending the message for fans to have their own lives. Of not chasing stars too much ( which also is something their gov’t does not endorse and is a whole topic of it’s own ) and neglecting the other people around them. Don’t vote too much. Don’t cause unnecessary trouble in the name of being GG and Web’s fan in public places. It’s what I really feel strongly about when it comes to all of this. If you are a person who can balance fandom and personal life + knows the boundaries, then you’re good.
Thank you for the Ask Anon! ❤️

Idk if you're still doing nights requests, but Reala x one of your ocs?
...
Anon...
I have no clue who you are, or why you took an interest in seeing my OC shipped with a Canon character...
But I have one thing to say...
Thank you so so so much for asking about my OC! And about wanting to see her paired with a canon character! That is honestly a huge compliment, it tells me you think she's interesting enough and legit enough to be with a canon character!
Ok. The only NiGHTS OC that I have that could be shipped with him, is my nightopian OC Prism (her bio should be under the 'my own OC's' tag or 'Prism' tag, please check her out if your interested ^^) but... If I'm honest, I had thought of them together in a relationship before.
I know that there's nothing wrong with OC x Canon ships, but I always get nervous at the thought of posting anything like that, especially if no one asks about my characters (the last thing I want is to embarras myself if someone is like 'nobody asked to see this why are you posting it'... Even though the internet is a free platform and we can post whatever we want and don't have to worry about anybody putting us down.
ANYWAYS! I've rambled too much. Time to give you what you asked for. My thoughts on Prism x Reala (or Realism in this case XD). I'll go for my general thoughts/story for it, but this got pretty long so I won't add headcannons to it (maybe I'll make a separate post for headcannons)
Reala x Prism (Realism)
Tumblr media
Peony: Regarded as one of the most popular and culturally significant flowers in many parts of the world, the peony is closely associated with peace, stability and prosperous domestic life
(I hope that's a peony gif. Gif courtesy of Google)
Anyone who knows Prism's story knows that if she was canon, Reala would be her #1 enemy for a multitude of reasons.
For starters, when he and NiGHTS were created, they both made her job as a guardian a whole lot harder. At first she was able to deal with third and second levels just fine, although the second levels she would need a few tries to learn their strategies so she could properly fight back. But NiGHTS and Reala, by far the known strongest creations of Wizeman. They made her eat dirt with their superior magic and strength alone everytime she tried to fight them for the ideya they stole. The most she could do was use herself as a distraction while the visitors and nightopians in the area get to safety.
Then, when NiGHTS rebelled and she and them bonded and befriended each other, Reala gave her another reason to hate him. He was constantly hurting her friend and trying to drag them back to a place that would practically kill them without physically harming them. Anyone who knows Prism knows that she is not the type to stand back and let her loved ones get hurt, she would sacrifice herself in a heartbeat and think about the consequences later. There were many times she had to break NiGHTS out of trouble and square up to Reala to try to protect them. Fortunately NiGHTS was on her side this time, so her fights with the nightnaren weren't so unevenly matched anymore.
But of course, the hatred she felt for him was mutual. Remember, no story is one sided, and we have to see this through Reala's eyes too. Prism has caused him and the other 'maren so much trouble with how she fights them and takes back any ideya they steal, and has made Wizeman very temperamental and progress to stagnate. Not to mention the fact that she is the only thing- alongside the visitors- keeping him from bringing his friend back home and was also the reason why NiGHTS left in the first place (in his eyes at least). So when he sees Prism, all Reala sees is a pest that is far too much trouble and needs to be taken care of so not only he but the rest of Nightnare can achieve their goal without further hinderence.
So the main reason for their rivalry is simple. They both have conflicting goals. Prism wants to protect the night dimension and ensure the visitors and her loved ones are safe. Reala wants to keep Wizeman satisfied so no one else will die and bring back his comrade. And the one thing that even made things this way for them was Wizeman. As long as he exists and forces the nightmaren to bring him ideya, they will continue to clash heads.
So what happens when you remove Wizeman from the picture? When Wizeman is finally gone for good and the nightmaren have no reason to hunt visitors anymore?
Complications.
After NiGHTS rebelled and showed Prism that the nightmaren weren't inherently evil, she wanted to protect the nightmaren too. Being a guardian of the night dimension includes Nightmare too, not to mention all the stories NiGHTS told her about the day to day lives the 'maren lead. She wanted to help them, but when Wizeman was in power she had to keep fighting them to help the visitors. She couldn't just stop protecting the humans, the night dimension exist because of the visitors, so they were the top priority. So even though she sympathized with the 'maren, she couldn't stop what she began.
But now that Wizeman is gone, she tries to make amends. She goes out of her way to try to help Nightmare heal along with Nightopia. Of course, since she caused so much suffering for the 'maren, none of them want to trust her. Especially Reala, the new leader of Nightmare.
NiGHTS would definitely have to be a mediator between them both. Because even though Prism is trying to be trusting and calm and helpful, centuries of agony and the cold truth that he couldn't trust anyone, not even his closest friend, makes Reala lash out. Now that she's just standing there, doing nothing but putting a target on her back, his fury and hurt over the years bubble up and splash onto her.
But at the same time, he caused her suffering too. Every visitor she couldn't save, every paradise and nightopian that was torn apart by the nightmaren and all the beat downs she took in all of the fights she had, Reala was a big part of all that. At least after he was created. They both have hurt each other in different ways, they both had caused the others day to worsen intentionally or not.
And, in a way, that's how they both come to an understanding. Eventually, they both recognize what they've done to the other and that neither of them are intirely innocent. When they both see that, they both can take two steps back and realize they are more alike then they thought. They both want peace in their communities, they both care for their loved ones and want them around, they both carry similar responsibilities and are seen as authority figures or protectors in their homes and they both want the conflict to just stop.
So with time, they both can come to an agreement to help each other. They both can help the night dimension heal and help bring back the unity that Nightmare and Nightopia used to have. It's with this clarity and understanding for the other that allows them to work together. And later, when they both have a chance to actually get to know each other and bond- all thanks to NiGHTS I assure you- They find love with each other.
That's why I love Realism so much. It's not only a enemies to lovers story, but it also has them show each other a side neither of them saw before. Prism gets to see Reala's more caring and softer side, and Reala gets to see her more sympathetic and understanding side. And it's only when they see the other half of each other is when they can unite and become one with each other.
What do you guys think? Any questions or criticism are always welcome!
