My discord got me thinking about how Naughty Dog tried to do a Jak 4 and they were so obsessed with cinematic realism that they went "nope, this is too creepy" and backed off because they literally refused to do it any other way

Thinking of when Double Fine was still doing the Devs Play video series, and they had someone from Naughty Dog on there, and even though I don't think he worked at the company anymore, he still was so very clearly "cinematic realism" poisoned. Even when talking about Naughty Dog's Crash Bandicoot games, he was going on about how they were always trying to apply Hollywood techniques and make the games more cinematic.

And thinking about how much of the game industry is bleeding itself dry trying to replicate things we already have in real life. Across two generations of hardware, Naughty Dog has released two new games and eight ports or remakes. Some of which are double dips. When you think about Insomniac's woes over struggling to break even with Spider-man, one gets the impression from all these ports and remakes that Naughty Dog isn't doing much better.

Do you know how much money Lethal Company made? It has 260,000 reviews on Steam, and you can probably charitably double, triple, or even quadruple that number to get within the ballpark of what it actually sold. We'll reign it in a little and estimate it sold 600,000 units. That's $6,000,000 of what is very likely pure profit. People have retired on less. This kid isn't even 25 years old.

Meanwhile, for Spider-man 2, Insomniac had to sell 7,000,000 units just to start turning a profit. Spider-man 2 put them nearly FIVE HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS ($500,000,000) in the hole. For a game, by their own admission, people may not even be able to tell is any better visually than Spider-man 1. They talk about smaller side games like Miles Morales as a cheap way to reuse assets and buffer the astronomical financial drain these games are. They've got to make up ground somewhere.

There's rumors Naughty Dog's next game might be a remake of Uncharted 1. The well's going to run dry eventually. Then what happens to Naughty Dog when they're writing a one-billion dollar check for the next evolution in cinematic realism that is impossible for anyone to be able to cash? When does this all break down? Soon, right?

It sure feels like it's going to be soon. This is such a boring waste of money.

Howdy! I (finally) did a writing thing! I did this for the LU Discord's weekly prompt (Prompts Done Fast), and thought I'd take a stab at writing something for once. I've not written anything for the Chain before, and have had the idea of them finding a glass beach for a while now, so yeah! There are mistakes, this was timed & I couldn't go back to fix them-

As a lil fun fact: I timed this to the length of a RussianBadger video lmao (it was just over 30 mins). Anyhow, on with the story!

"It's so crunchy!" Wind giggled, not rwally used to the shiny pebbles replacing the sand he was used to. The godesses had apparently decided the Chain could do with a break, and thus dumped them somewhere in Wind's world. The island was fairly small but had enough room to run around, and had the most unique beach they'd ever seen. Four dubbed it a 'glass pebble beach', though Wind thought it deserved a better name. Not that he could think of one-

"Hey Four! You know stuff, do you know how this happened?" The one in question jumped, probably not expecting a conversation in his Hylian, but nonetheless strode over, trying to recall if he did, in fact, know.

"I've only heard of these before, but sometimes bits of glass like this wash up on other islands," Wind continued. "The story I know is that bits of glass get in the ocean for whatever reason, but it pokes the gods that live down there, so they make it blunt so it doesn't hurt anyone & send it back up to the surface to be found & reused!"

"That's a nice myth, but I think it's actually the water & sand wearing it down over time," Four explained, picking up a deep purple piece & holding it up to the light.

"Ooh, that makes sense!" Wind looked out over the beach, giggling as he noticed Wild picking up random bits to keep in his slate.

"Wait, you've never seen a beach like this before?" He glanced back to Four, not expecting the question.

"I... don't think so? I mean, we get the occasional bits here and there, but the closest I've seen to this was on an island near the Old Hyrule castle. I guess it came from the old buildings near it, maybe even the castle itself! But even then, it wasn't as crazy as this,"

The two chatted for a bit longer, contemplating how the city from days past may have looked, but it wasn't to long before a mischievous grin found its way onto Wind's face.

"...What is it?" Four asked, knowing far too well what that look meant.

"Wanna see how many pebbles we can sneak into Legend's bag before he realises?" Four sat for a bit, thinking over the offer.

"Sound like a terrible plan, I'm in! Maybe we shouldn't to that to Legend, though-" Four pointed out. The Vet seemed to be actually relaxed for once, so he wasn't particularly willing to ruin that.

"Fair point! How about the Captain?" Four nodded, possibly a bit too eager to finally prank Wars.

Warriors was deep in coversation with Time as Wind shouted out to Four about something or other. He knew enough of the Sailor & Smithy's Hylian to know that it was about the glass, but that was about all he got. He watched as the two drifted off, bouncing questions & ideas off of each other.

"This is quite a view, certainly not one I can say I've seen before," Time said, taking xeir chestpiece off. Xey had taken the rest of xeir armour off already, deeming this a safe enough spot.

"Yeah, it is quite nice, if a bit weird," the Captain agreed. Everyobe seemed to agree, with most euther taking in the sight or collecting some of the pebbles. He did notice Four & Wind had quietened, and glanced over to see the Sailor's signature Chaos Grin. As quietly has he could manage, he strode over to be within earshot of the pair. Keeping an ear out for any words he knew, he picked out a few that signalled he was going to be in for some sort of prank.

"Hey Smithy, Sailor!" The pair jumped, having not noticed his approach.

"Heeey Captain, what's up?" Wind sheepishly replied, Four stifling giggles behind him.

"I think you know what," Wars replied, raisinf an eyebrow in question. "I managed to catch you two talking about me & someone's bag, which paired with the Sailor's grin, makes me think you two were planning some sort of prank." Four dissolved into laughter next to Wind, who was trying (and failing) to keep a straight face.

"Whatever would give you that idea, Cap?"

The focus on change and evolution of their magic, especially as the narrative evolves is beautiful and makes me really want to see this as an extended story.

This art style sparks joy. The dynamic poses, the way that the clothes move with the action, the way that intangible magic is so clearly on display. I don’t know if this is just the way that Alex draws action, or if his art style has evolved once again, but it is so nice to look at.

Hello, thanks for the question! We're excited to hear that you're interested in our next opening.

Yes, ThreeClans members certainly have a larger quantity of characters than many other discord Warriors roleplays. ThreeClans was brought to life in 2016 as a skype roleplay, and the many roleplays that followed closely after our creation tended to have more characters than what might be considered standard nowadays. Over the past 8 years (we celebrated our 8th anniversary on February 2nd), the Warriors roleplay community has changed in many ways. While fewer characters per person might be the trend now, it wasn't always the case. In addition, having 5 groups (NettleClan, CreekClan, JaggedClan, FogClan, and the Trove of Twisted Tunnels), we need more characters to fill out the ranks! We do have character limits, however. Members with adequate activity are able to join 3 groups. Some of our members prefer to stay in just 1 or 2 groups, and that's perfectly fine! Each member's character limit is determined by how many groups they are in. For each group they're in, a person can have up to 4 characters, though our more standard maximum is 3; 4 is permitted only for members who show outstanding activity.

1 Group: 3-4 Characters Maximum 2 Groups: 6-8 Characters Maximum 3 Groups: 9-12 Characters Maximum

Recently, we have adjusted the character system to allow members to more freely choose the distribution of their characters. Previous to this change, these limits were per group, meaning a person in 3 groups could have 3-4 characters in each group, but not exceed that limit. Now, there is a bit more flexibility. If a member is in 3 groups, they are able to have 9-12 characters, but they do not have to be split evenly from group to group. It's difficult to explain succinctly, and there is a more expansive announcement regarding this system in the server, but hopefully this gives you at least a bit of insight!

ThreeClans does not have an official system when it comes to members obtaining new characters. We do have an activity check, but that is in place only to ensure our members remain present and roleplaying. We don't have character slots or an "earning" system in which more activity unlocks the possibility of more characters, and instead give out new characters on a case-by-case basis. We look at activity first and foremost, but there are a large variety of factors that go into choosing roleplayers for new characters.

Every few months, we put out an announcement in the server inviting our members to react to the announcement with a variety of emojis to indicate their interest in obtaining characters. When choosing new characters, whether it be for a kit litter or a loner/rogue/kittypet opportunity, we always look through the people who have indicated interest through this announcement first. The screenshot below gives you an idea of what one of these "survey" announcements might look like!

Being offered a character in this manner isn’t the only way to create a ThreeClans OC! We have in-server adoptable applications in which NPCs (typically characters created by people who have left the roleplay and have given us permission to reuse pieces of their OC) are put up for for adoption and members are invited to apply for them. Some of these characters are what we call "blank slate" characters, where the entirety of the OC can be created by the applying member, but some have more rigid guidelines. Different members prefer different types of adoptable characters, and our adoption document always has something for everyone! In addition, we encourage members to approach us with their own ideas or character pitches, and many of our former loner characters were created this way.

I’m new here and I keep seeing Amaranth all over and you wanna pop off with stuff about them so may I a request a beginners guide of sorts? Just the what would be helpful to know

Ahh! I’m not sure how to do this, but

I’m just gonna spout nonsense for a while!

Amaranth is my rewrite of Minecraft diaries which I have been doing for almost two years now, and is currently on hiatus. It consists of 44 chapters which are all, up until I think chapter 44 itself, based off of MCD or Rebirth episodes, and whilst the first 3/4s of it are based in the main plotline of season one, the ending will be different so that I can reuse s1s ending for a more Amulet-centric story arc.

If you want a list for triggering material that is/may be included, please do ask. Obviously most of it isn’t yet involved or the tags would include warnings of that, but I think it’s important to talk about the future of Amaranth too.

Love interests for Aphmau include (because this is a home for multi shipping and polyamory):

-Zoey, kind of primary love interest? There’s not much content for it in regards to pining and struggle but they’re pretty consistently in love so they’re just cute together.

-Garroth, canon love interest. Their main struggles are that he ‘respects her too much’ as his lord and so kind of goes back and forth on flirting with her and pushing her away. Also his brother… exists.

-Laurence, kind of a side thing. Laurence is into her far more than she is into him but she can at least find consistency in his attitudes towards her.

-Aaron, he’s hardly been introduced so far. The two appearances he has made are him saving Aphmau from werewolves and proceeding to berate her for thanking him. And then saving her from werewolves again and giving her over to Lucinda. Their relationship does end up far more developed than just this though and I’m aiming for it to be a primary focus of later seasons.

-Zane, her fiancé (non consensually). He wants to marry her for control, and she just doesn’t want none of that. He’s mostly there to be annoying, and also serve as a reason Garroth does not want to be romantic with her.

The most of this storyline for season one is evading any damage coming to Phoenix drop. She’s gone on a few minor quests, but her main goal is to stop Zane from gaining power and influence near enough to her village to be a threat, and even sets up the Phoenix Alliance to ensure herself allies if he does happen to attack.

My plans for season 2 thus far are confidential, though I can say that I’m trying to make use of a storyline introduced yet not used in MCD, and as a way to further explain the politics and world of Amaranth. This will be the amulet centric arc, as Aphmau begins to study them with the help of a ‘mysterious stranger’ to try and figure out Zane’s plans for the region and her people.

A few characters that are magicks-less in MCD have magicks in Amaranth (like Dante, who can look through people’s memories similarly to how Gene can alter them in Rebirth), and characters such as the Divine will be, when the time is appropriate, given more flesh to their stories than we were given previously.

There are also gods and such, though the subject of the gods themselves will be left for a later rewrite of A Royal Tale, in which gods are majorly referenced. Because in Amaranth, all of the Aphverse series are somehow connected along a timeline I’m forever trying to figure out, and the idea of this will be explored in each rewrite.

L from E (if that's the flight they're still in idk, I left the server, part because of them) on the FR discord is constantly just so condescending and comes off like "I know more than you :)". Constantly. So unforgiving of new users and questions they deem "dumb". And one time I proved something they said wrong. They said Undel didn't rip any of the FR art from previous sources (she did, and I posted pics as proof). 1/2

2/2 So do they apologize and say "oh sorry, you're correct", even after acting like what I said was just oh so stupid? No. They don't even acknowledge my response or the pictures. They ignore me. Even though by their standards, the fact that Undel reused old art for FR would probably be considered "basic information". It's on the FR wiki. If they knew that information and someone tried to say otherwise I guarantee they would've been like "um no sweaty :)) it says right here that…" UGH

this is antoine (at least it’s supposed to be), the first one me and my mom ever made. iirc we took one of those stuffed maskimal costume heads (i think it was a rabbit) and used it to build him. we didn’t have time to make the hair look decent so it’s all just flat. his cheek fluff is kinda fucked too. regardless of that, we tried our best. he was made in 2017 and i’m considering redoing the head as a personal project. the body suit is fine, but… those eyes…

the shoes were just cloth covers for my normal size shoes so they don’t look fantastic. might redo those too. besides, (modern) antoine has boots.

edit before i even post this: i found the pic of the poor rabbit head we destroyed and me looking slightly derranged

you all know the manic one, it’s probably the one i talk most about. this was the first decent one, made only a year later in 2018. I think the pre-bought head we skinned for this one was a llama. we couldn’t figure out how to make the head turn with my head so we glued a whole ass bicycle helmet in there which works pretty well actually. if i could redo anything for this costume it’d be the shoes (we built them off of slippers and it is not fun walking several blocks in soggy michigan weather with no arch support like that). maybe i’d tweak the tail and back spines because they’re flat. other than that, i’m still very content with this one!

fun thing about this one: the hair kept getting snagged on low hanging tree branches and decorations. also i tripped up a lot of stairs. that wasn’t actually fun lmao

finally there’s macaron, the mascot for a sonic server i help moderate. this is the first suit where we made the head from scratch instead of buying something to base it off of, as well as the first one whose body fur just consisted of pants (since the top half is covered by sweater). it was made in 2021. this one also had a bike helmet in it but it came loose (shitty glue) so we took it out. we simply reused the shoes from manic for this one since they’re so similar. surprisingly they have fleece in the old discord blue (wedgewood, apparently). we were gonna make three fingered gloves but we ran out of time, but that’s fine. the head is cool and i love it a lot! i gotta sew the tail back on the pants though, it came loose during the last convention i went to.

Paper Mario cubicized recreationed- TTYD Petal Meadow

I've got another cubicized recreation to show. In the spirit of Sonic Frontiers, while some new parts have been made, this is essentially an echo stage reusing Pleasant Path assets.

Also, this time, I'm going to try out the presentation method Masahiro Sakurai suggested in one of his recent game development videos. This should make it feel more fun and engaging.

First off, a far-off shot! While most of the level is recreated, you might have noticed some absent areas...

Mario explores this data recreation with a partner created by a fellow/follower of mine- Stylia the Spindrift hairstylist, created by SkiiDigger720 of Discord. The reason why Stylia is here may be explained in the future (and it indeed could be related to the storyline SkiiDigger720 posited). For now, enjoy the stylized rocks, some new parts.

This area is a close recreation of a similar screen from the source game. Like in Pleasant Path, Green Stars would appear in key locations across the data stages. Can you find or guess where all 5 are across the screenshots? Some are tricky!

Another pretty close recreation. Platform blocks are used to simulate the background 2D areas. But...that's strange. The gate to the next area seems different...

I see- for the sake of a brisker stage, Petalburg is skipped over! Now, we're right on the forest steppes of old ruins!

...or rather, the forest steppes of forest-ized ruins. And these enemies aren't the ones I remember. Even Mario seems baffled, while Stylia is curious.

Same verse as the last two- more forestized recreations, and more out-of-place enemy wildlife!

And on the last two screens. That's right- following an earlier placed fight with a currently unseen foe, both the Sun and Moon Stones are found in the same room. In addition, with Shwonk Fortress not recreated, the Warp Pipe now brings Mario and friends to a tall pipe right at the start of the stage!

There'll be one more recreated stage using Pleasant Path's assets I'll show now. Against my better judgement, I recreated a stage that just celebrated it's tenth anniversary within the last week- though with certain recut-mentioned elements and even new stuff added in...

Looking for Andrew Spider-Man for JCINK Spider Trio

Hello hello! Thanks for taking a look at our buddy request. The short and sweet of the story is that we’re two 30+ RP loving gals who happen to play Tom Holland (Ruby) and Tobey Maguire (me) Spider-Mans and we’re for Andrew Garfield Spidey to complete our trio on the panfandom JCINK site we run called, Between the Lines.

While *Spoilers* we LOOOOVE No Way Home, we don’t require that you pull him from it. Tobey Peter comes from directly after that movie, but our Tom Holland Spidey comes from around Endgame, before No Way Home. He has no idea what awaits him. Muhahaha!

  We're currently working our two Spider-Mans into the same city with a bit of Eddie Brock and Vee causing chaos in the middle. Tom Peter maaaaay currently be playing host to a certain alien made of black goo while Tobey Peter is reluctantly teaming up with the symbioteless Eddie to help his younger self and he could really use Andrew Spidey's help.

  As long as he's still his Amazing Spider-Man self, we’re pretty flexible on whether your Spidey knows about the other Spideys or if you want to add a bit of comic/previous iterations for flavor (my Tobey Spidey has a begrudging friendship with his universe’s Deadpool, he’s worked briefly with the X-Men), etc.

  Ruby also has a cinnamon bun of a murderer with Andrew’s face (FCs can be reused, yay multiverse!) and we’d love to see some wonderful chaos where people mistake Peter for Angel and freak out… because glorious IC drama. This totally isn’t required, though and definitely up to you on how you wanna roll.

  With that said, there are a few things we do want, both from the character and a writing partner in general.

The Character:

  Definitely still The Amazing Spider-Man, rather than a comic book Spidey with Andrew’s face.

Mid 20’s to mid 30’s

Near the end of his dark place after Gwen’s death, or through it.

Still his wonderful, quirky nerd of a self.

You as the writer:

  We’re pretty much always throwing ideas (and some IC chat) back and forth to test out headcanon babies. We’re definitely looking for a third buddy to gush, plot, and write with.

Rubes and I can be fairly speedy, but flexible posters. We have our own stuff going on from mental health to busy work schedules and that means we have our slow times like everyone else. But we’re also friends and we chat even when one of us can’t post for whatever reason. Someone who posts less than once a week on a regular basis or who just disappears off the face of the Earth when a real life moment hits probably isn’t going to work for us.

We consider ourselves fairly good writers with a decent grasp of grammar and creative writing (show don’t tell, etc). Ideally, you’d be the same. To clarify on this point, we don’t need you to be perfect. We definitely are not. But we do love to paint a picture.

We tend to write anywhere from 100 to 500+ words depending on our muses and would like the same in return.

We’re both in the EST timezone if that matters. It really doesn’t to us. We’re looking for a buddy and while it would be amazeballs to have someone up and chatting when we are, we’re in it for the friendship and the story, not the clock.

We’re also both over 30 and the board is 18+ for players. We're definitely looking for a mature, adult writing buddy regardless of the rating of the content we choose to create.

We're  admins on BtL and looking to have this plot (and others) on our site. We won't do private discord or Doc RP and aren't willing to join another site at this time.

Fun Fact #5: YGO and Pokemon were lumped together for the longest time and now I was finally able to separate them and let them go full throttle. Bakura and Kaiba, with new icons and as promised in a previous fun fact, took Joey with them, but they have Marik instead of Yugi since he's been growing on me a lot more. They took the place of the FMA district. Meanwhile, Serena and Clemont now have, again as promised, Team Rocket joining them

Fun Fact #6: While debating on characters and fandoms to include, Nick, Nat, and Divia seemed to just be easy inclusions to replace the Ouran district. It was deciding on their fourth districtmate that was difficult. It ultimately came down to either LaCroix or Janette [sorry, but Schanke is Babey and I refuse to corrupt him like this]. LaCroix was picked due to the potential for some interesting scenarios

Fun Fact #7: In previous updates, I mentioned Sav's icon somehow becoming more saturated even though the image had not changed. I discovered while updating the icon sets earlier today that this was indeed a Tumblr issue like I had initially thought. Apparently something happens when posting it live, causing the image to saturate. I was able to fix this, but this required, well, not using Tumblr. The image is still saturated in the actual post its in, but the exact link used in the simulator settings is now being hosted on Discord

Fun Fact #8: Back in the very first run of the Multifandom Hunger Games, District 6 was the Animorphs and Tobias was a part of that district. For this brand new run, I decided to bring Tobias back. ***He's listed in the change log for icon updates as I decided not to reuse the original icon he had. His new icon is from a comic version of the series

Fun Fact #9: The character hasn't changed, but this short comic dropped some time ago, revealing Nemesis' true identity as Hanako Yamada. Her information for the season was updated accordingly

Fun Fact #10: I initially didn't plan on updating Joe, Hanako, or Remilia's icons, but ultimately did. Hanako's uses the exact same image, just recropped to look less awkward

Fun Fact #11: The Fire Emblem district was supposed to be a one-character-per-game situation, but let's be real, Three Houses has way too many interesting characters to ignore entirely, so I added two instead while also updating Eltshan's icon. Ferdinand was briefly considered before deciding on Constance. Marianne's has a Black Eagles background instead of Golden Deer because I just like the Black Eagles more

Fun Fact #12: Amnesia was considered for a return, but I decided not to go with this. Sailor Moon was also briefly considered for inclusion

Fun Fact #14: Since Mulberry has been revamping a lot of older character art she's done, including the student council, I decided this would be a good opportunity to update Shiromi's icon. At the same time, I decided to replace Osana with another student council member. Imagine the scary implications. Also yes, I am aware how divisive YanSim is, but I ain't here for bullshit. I'm here to vibe. This district stays put

Tbh I think the sick ones get taken away and reused too. We have a bunch of wood just randomly lying around in the forest and they are all pretty big too. I love climbing them, I always stray away from the normal path to go deeper and climb over the rocks and trees to find flowers or cool mushrooms. The big ones aren't even able to climb up. Too big and no things to hold on to. But the smaller ones work. I climbed one a few weeks ago when I sent you pictures! (My friend was to big for the tree and the branch we were seated on nearly broke)

Same here! I love sweets especially chocolate and peanut but stay away from me with licorice and mint flavor. Oh and raisins.

I love them too, this red string things! They are named different and are way longer here but still the same. My favorite sweets are either peanut mountains, gummy cherries or cornwaffles with dark chocolate. But my all time favorite will forever be sesame balls with red bean paste! Actually everything with red bean paste makes me happy.

Oh yeah mint isn t a great flavour either, it's just like toothpaste flavour. I'm only ok with raisins if they're in chocolate. What do you call fizzy laces? We have longer ones too but those ones aren't fizzy. They come in different flavours and colours though.

The only one I know of those are the gummy cherries, since I know Haribo do a bag of them. I looked the others up though the peanut mountain looks good. I don't think we have red bean paste over here at all, I've never seen it. It looks savoury but it tastes sweet right?

The Second Disappearing of Sarina Grace

A dramatic title for a dramatic return!

Okay, yes, I’m back on tumblr! Which can only mean one thing: things are not great. Actually as I’m writing this I’m feeling pretty good, but just in general it’s been... a lot. So I left twitter again around October 5th (aside from my secret personal side account which only 2 people have access to) and it’s been great to not be surrounded by that negativity anymore. Unlike last time, I did give a warning (which I kind of regret, but whatever). So basically this year has been a lot. I mean like... a LOT. I got in a relationship, ended the relationship, made new friends, ended friendships, got a crush, got over that crush (mostly... kind of), had two different twitter accounts (not including my game account, priv, and The Quarry account that all lasted like a month), had two different instagram accounts, ended up in the ER (and then got put on meds that made me so confused I still have no idea what happened during that period nor do I remember when I even went to the ER), and blacked out for around a week (I think?) where I was telling everyone I was God. So, yeah... it’s been a wild year. And I finally feel like I’m healing from it all and during the healing process I just realized twitter isn’t really fun anymore, so I left. Now, I’m not saying I feel great by any means but I do feel like I’m at a point where I can get to feeling great, if that makes sense.

And now for the questions segment (which is just reusing the same questions I used last time)!

Will you return to twitter?

No. Not in the way people might want me to. It’s not a fun app to me anymore and it serves no purpose to me, so I don’t need it. I might keep my secret side account active for awhile and allow one more person access, but I’ll never return to stan twitter. I’ll eventually create a personal account when I start posting youtube videos too so I can hopefully reach a wider audience.

Are your other social media accounts being affected by The Great Twitter Strike of 2022?

Not really. I’m still as active as usual on instagram, I just post more stories. Tumblr I do want to try to become more active on, but it’s not likely. Wattpad I completely abandoned last year. AO3 I don’t really use much but I’ll read the occasional fic, I just don’t post anymore (sorry to my abandoned monwinn series, RIP). And discord is even more boring than twitter but I keep it just to keep in contact with people. Any other social media platform is so irrelevant to me that I’ve forgotten about it.

Where are you in life?

Currently, I’m on the hunt for a job. I almost applied for one but the application was too long and I got bored (oops). I’ve also set up plans for my future to help me better get to my dream jobs. Also I’ll be 20 in a little over 5 months which is terrifying to think about but I also look forward to it.

How are you doing mentally?

Eddie Diaz, Jacob Custos, and Prue Halliwell are the only people I ever think of which speaks volumes about my mental state. I do feel like I’m at the best I’ve been since... honestly, since COVID began. There’s still room for improvement though!

What have you been up to?

Planning! I’m ready for my life to begin and I have a lot of plans in place so that I’m fully prepared. Once I do a little more planning, I’ll be able to actually start following the plans. Also I’ve started to binge True Jackson, VP because I’ve never seen it (in fact, I hadn’t even heard of it until last year) and it’s amazing. I think once I finish it I might start Days of Our Lives just for Zach Tinker (but really, is it worth it? I refuse to watch The Vampire Diaries because Chris Wood is barely in it, am I really gonna start watching a soap opera for a few scenes of Zach?)

Hello hello! Thanks for taking a look at our buddy/character request. The short and sweet of the story is that we’re two 30+ RP loving gals who happen to play Tom Holland (Ruby) and Tobey Maguire (me) Spider-Mans and we’re looking for an Andrew Garfield Spidey to complete our platonic/brotherly trio on the panfandom JCINK forum we run called, Between the Lines (click name for a link).

  *Keep in mind that we’re not interested in writing anywhere other than the public play by post forum we run. While we chat through discord almost exclusively and occasionally swap IC chat style head canons back and forth, all actual IC RP is on our JCINK forum. We’re more than happy to help the right fit adjust to JCINK if necessary.*

  While I'm sure you can tell that we LOOOOVE No Way Home, we don’t require that you pull him from it. Tobey Peter comes from directly after that movie, but our Tom Holland Spidey comes from around Endgame. He has no idea what awaits him. Muhahaha!

  We're currently working our two Spider-Mans into the same city with a bit of Eddie Brock and Vee causing chaos in the middle. Tom Peter maaaaay currently be playing host to a certain alien made of black goo while Tobey Peter is reluctantly teaming up with the symbioteless Eddie to help his younger self and he could really use Peter Three's help.

  As long as he's still his Amazing Spider-Man self, we’re pretty flexible on whether your Spidey knows about the other Spideys or if you want to add a bit of comic/previous iterations for flavor (for example, my Tobey Spidey has a begrudging friendship/hinted at relationship with his universe’s Deadpool, he’s worked briefly with the X-Men), etc.

  Ruby also has a cinnamon bun of a murderer with Andrew’s face (FCs can be reused, yay multiverse!) and we’d love to see some wonderful chaos where people mistake Peter for Angel and freak out… because glorious IC drama. This totally isn’t required, though and definitely up to you on how you wanna roll.

  With that said, there are a few things we do want, both from the character and a writing partner in general.

  The Character:

Andrew Garfield as the FC (naturally)

Mid 20’s to mid 30’s

Near the end of his dark place after Gwen’s death, or through it.

Still his wonderful, quirky nerd of a self.

  You as the writer:

We’re pretty much always throwing ideas (and some IC chat) back and forth to test out headcanon babies. We’re looking for a third buddy to gush, plot, and write with. While we don’t need constant communication, we definitely want daily chats (about rp, life, coffee…) at minimum even if one of us can’t necessarily post.

Rubes and I can be fairly speedy, but flexible posters. Sometimes we post multiple 200+ word posts a day. Other times we might go a week between posts. The board itself has no post per month count, but someone who posts less than once a week on a regular basis or just disappears off the face of the Earth with no warning when a real life moment hits isn’t going to work for us. 

We consider ourselves fairly good writers with a decent grasp of grammar and creative writing (show don’t tell, etc). Ideally, you’d be the same. To clarify on this point, we don’t need you to be perfect. We definitely aren't. But we do love to paint a picture.

We tend to write anywhere from 100 to 500+ words depending on our muses and would like the same in return.

We’re both over 30 and the board is 18+ for players. We're looking for a mature writing buddy regardless of the rating of the content we choose to create. With that said, we’re not looking to ship the Peters. Our Tom Holland Peter is 15 and this would be purely a platonic/mentor/brother style relationship. 

Additionally, we're both admins on BtL and looking to have this plot (and others) on our public site. We’re more than happy to make other characters for each other, but aren't willing to join another site or private rp at this time.

The basic gist of the story is that mystical creatures pooled their magic to create a safe Haven from their war with humanity. When they started to fight amongst their various species and cultures, a crack started to form in that magic. Over time and traded blows, that crack turned into a full blown rift in the space time continuum. For the past 30 or so years, people and places have been popping in at random. We allow up to three versions of each canon. Faces can be reused. It’s all in the wonderfully chaotic spirit of the multiverse.
