What is Dataflow?
This post is inspired by another post about the Crowd Strike IT disaster and a bunch of people being interested in what I mean by Dataflow. Dataflow is my absolute jam and I'm happy to answer as many questions as you like on it. I even put referential pictures in like I'm writing an article, what fun!
I'll probably split this into multiple parts because it'll be a huge post otherwise but here we go!
A Brief History
Our world is dependent on the flow of data. It exists in almost every aspect of our lives and has done so arguably for hundreds if not thousands of years.
At the end of the day, the flow of data is the flow of knowledge and information. Normally most of us refer to data in the context of computing technology (our phones, PCs, tablets etc) but, if we want to get historical about it, the invention of writing and the invention of the Printing Press were great leaps forward in how we increased the flow of information.
Modern Day IT exists for one reason - To support the flow of data.
Whether it's buying something at a shop, sitting staring at an excel sheet at work, or watching Netflix - All of the technology you interact with is to support the flow of data.
Understanding and managing the flow of data is as important to getting us to where we are right now as when we first learned to control and manage water to provide irrigation for early farming and settlement.
Engineering Rigor
When the majority of us turn on the tap to have a drink or take a shower, we expect water to come out. We trust that the water is clean, and we trust that our homes can receive a steady supply of water.
Most of us trust our central heating (insert boiler joke here) and the plugs/sockets in our homes to provide gas and electricity. The reason we trust all of these flows is because there's been rigorous engineering standards built up over decades and centuries.
For example, Scottish Water will understand every component part that makes up their water pipelines. Those pipes, valves, fitting etc will comply with a national, or in some cases international, standard. These companies have diagrams that clearly map all of this out, mostly because they have to legally but also because it also vital for disaster recovery and other compliance issues.
Modern IT
And this is where modern day IT has problems. I'm not saying that modern day tech is a pile of shit. We all have great phones, our PCs can play good games, but it's one thing to craft well-designed products and another thing entirely to think about they all work together.
Because that is what's happened over the past few decades of IT. Organisations have piled on the latest plug-and-play technology (Software or Hardware) and they've built up complex legacy systems that no one really knows how they all work together. They've lost track of how data flows across their organisation which makes the work of cybersecurity, disaster recovery, compliance and general business transformation teams a nightmare.
Some of these systems are entirely dependent on other systems to operate. But that dependency isn't documented. The vast majority of digital transformation projects fail because they get halfway through and realise they hadn't factored in a system that they thought was nothing but was vital to the organisation running.
And this isn't just for-profit organisations, this is the health services, this is national infrastructure, it's everyone.
There's not yet a single standard that says "This is how organisations should control, manage and govern their flows of data."
Why is that relevant to the companies that were affected by Crowd Strike? Would it have stopped it?
Maybe, maybe not. But considering the global impact, it doesn't look like many organisations were prepared for the possibility of a huge chunk of their IT infrastructure going down.
Understanding dataflows help with the preparation for events like this, so organisations can move to mitigate them, and also the recovery side when they do happen. Organisations need to understand which systems are a priority to get back operational and which can be left.
The problem I'm seeing from a lot of organisations at the moment is that they don't know which systems to recover first, and are losing money and reputation while they fight to get things back online. A lot of them are just winging it.
Conclusion of Part 1
Next time I can totally go into diagramming if any of you are interested in that.
How can any organisation actually map their dataflow and what things need to be considered to do so. It'll come across like common sense, but that's why an actual standard is so desperately needed!

healing from academic perfectionism

by mindy @glowettee
let's talk about something that affects sooo many of us in school - the exhausting cycle of perfectionism. here's how to actually work through it while maintaining your academic success 🤍
understanding your perfectionism type:
the all-or-nothing scholar
signs: abandoning tasks that aren't perfect
impact: incomplete assignments pile up
solution: create "good enough" standards for each task
practice: deliberately submit b+ work sometimes
reflection: track how "imperfect" work still succeeds
the endless editor
signs: revising until exhaustion
impact: never feeling finished
solution: set concrete editing limits
practice: use time boundaries for revisions
reflection: note when extra editing didn't change grades
the preparation procrastinator
signs: over-preparing but never starting
impact: delayed work and missed deadlines
solution: create starting rituals
practice: begin with imperfect outlines
reflection: document when "unprepared" work succeeded
practical steps for recovery:
(don't mind the formatting <3)
grade requirement analysis
calculate minimum grades needed
identify where perfection isn't necessary
create realistic grade goals
develop subject-specific standards
track effort vs. grade correlation
time management reality
set maximum study times
include mandatory breaks
create firm stopping points
establish "good enough" timeframes
practice leaving work unfinished
submission strategies
develop personal rubrics
create completion checklists
establish revision limits
set realistic quality standards
practice timely submission
perfection pressure release
identify trigger assignments
create comfort with b+ work
develop release statements
practice "done is better than perfect"
celebrate imperfect submissions
sustainable study practices
implement 80/20 rule
create efficiency metrics
develop quality guidelines
establish effort limits
maintain energy balance
daily implementation:
morning:
set realistic daily goals
identify perfection triggers
establish time boundaries
create completion criteria
prepare acceptance statements
during work:
use timer limits
implement stopping points
practice leaving rough drafts
accept good enough
maintain progress over perfection
evening:
evaluate effort balance
celebrate task completion
acknowledge progress
release perfectionist thoughts
plan next day's boundaries
practical exercises:
the b+ experiment
choose one assignment monthly
deliberately aim for b+ quality
track actual vs. expected grades
note emotional responses
document learning outcomes
time boundary practice
set firm time limits
stop when timer ends
submit work as is
track grade results
build trust in efficiency
imperfection tolerance
start assignments roughly
resist immediate editing
maintain forward momentum
accept messy progress
focus on completion
measuring progress:
keep a recovery tracker:
time spent on assignments
stress levels during work
grade outcomes
emotional responses
energy preservation
weekly check-in questions:
did i maintain reasonable hours?
where did i release perfectionism?
how did i handle imperfect work?
what boundaries did i maintain?
where can i ease standards?
tip: you can maintain excellent grades without sacrificing your wellbeing to perfectionism 🤍
xo mindy
p.s. your worth as a student isn't measured by perfect scores, but by your growth and learning.

First time writing for w40k, please enjoy 🙏
---
Horus is in his office when the news is delivered of your labors. He hears a knock on the door and a voice calls out, "Lady Aurelian's labors are starting."
All thoughts of work immediately flee his mind. This is much more important.
The Space Marine who had delivered the news struggles to keep up with Horus as he strides through the doors and towards the medical ward.
Horus ignores everyone he passes in his haste to arrive at the medical ward, to arrive to you. His hearts are pounding in his chest, and blood rushes on his ears, drowning out the sound of everything else.
Another Space Marine stands outside the door of the medical ward, and the Marine opens the door for Horus as he approaches. Horus steps inside, and his eyes immediately lock onto an Apothecary.
After you had come to be in his care, Horus had ordered his Luna Wolves Apothecaries to research and learn all they could about pregnancy and childbirth. The child you carry is the child of a Primarch, and the baseline human serfs would not be fully prepared to deal with such an important task alone. The medicae serfs would be assisted by the Apothecaries.
"Report." Horus commands the Apothecary.
The Apothecary straightens. "Yes, Lord Horus. Roughly an hour ago, Lady Aurelian reported pain in her abdomen. On the way to the medical ward, her water broke, and she was rushed here. After confirming the child was coming, and getting Lady Aurelian settled, a Marine was dispatched to retrieve you."
Horus nods. "Excellent."
He moves to enter the room the Apothecary was guarding, but is stopped by the Apothecary. "Um, Lord Horus, it's thought to be best if you remain outside the room. Your presence could distract some of the medicae serfs."
Horus grits his teeth. He wants to be there with you. He wants to hold your hand to comfort you, he wants to nod along when you curse at him his brother for doing this to you, he wants to see the life you've been carrying so diligently for so long finally enter the world, he wants to hear the child's first cry together with you.
But this isn't about what he wants, it's about what you need. And you need the medicae serfs to be fully focused on bringing your child safely into the world. So Horus nods, and settles in to wait.
He'll make sure the medicae are used to his presence in the future so that next time, he can be in the room with you.
---
The birth takes hours. Horus waits anxiously in the waiting room the whole time. At first, Horus tries to be productive while waiting. He orders a Marine to bring him some of his work from his office so he can work while he waits. However, his head is empty of any thoughts that aren't you, you, you. After spending half an hour attempting to read a single paragraph, he gives up on working and begins to pace.
Occasionally, the door to your room opens as a medicae or Apothecary enters or exits. Horus smells blood and hears your screams when they do, and his hearts pound faster as he imagines what you must be going through, especially without him by your side.
Eventually, things seem to calm down, as Apothecaries and medicae stop traversing through your door quite as often. Soon, an Apothecary approaches Horus, who stops his pacing immediately.
"How is she?" Horus asks without waiting for the Apothecary to speak.
"Lady Aurelian delivered a baby girl. The child is currently being given an extensive medical checkup to observe and document any differences between her and baseline human babies, due to her status as half-Primarch. Lady Aurelian lost a lot of blood, but she is expected to live. She will continue to recieve the best healthcare possible to guarantee so. The medicae are currently cleaning her up and getting her treatment for recovery ready. Once they finish doing so, then you can see her, Lord Horus."
Horus' hearts clench at the news that you've lost a lot of blood, but he can't stop the giddiness that wells within him at the news of the birth.
A baby girl.
Without even meeting her, Horus already loves her so much. He hopes she takes after you, grows to be as beautiful as her mother. He'll have to beat off suitors with Worldbreaker, once she reaches that age.
Horus waits as patiently as he can to be allowed into your room. When a medicae sticks her head out the door of the room and nods at him, Horus has to hold himself back from bursting through the door and to your side. Instead, he confidently walks into your medical room.
The lights are dimmed. The smell of blood and chemicals linger in the air. Medicae quietly maneuver through the room, consulting charts and whispering to each other. Horus registers none of this, as his eyes are only for you.
Your hair is stuck to your forehead with sweat. There are dark circles under your eyes, and tear tracks on your cheeks. You rest on a large bed surrounded by pillows and beeping machines.
Despite all this, or perhaps because of it, you're the most beautiful thing he's ever seen.
His breath catches as he looks at you, and sees the proof of how hard you worked to bring life into this universe. For a moment, he understands Lorgar's religious devotion to you. He would worship you as a goddess as well if he could.
He approaches your bedside as gently as possible, and you stir when he kneels next to you. He smiles as your eyes blearily look at him.
"Lorgar...?"
His smile dims a bit at you calling for his brother.
"No, it's only me, Horus, here."
"Oh..." You blink slowly. "The baby...?"
"A baby girl. She's getting a checkup by the medicae. Perhaps afterwards, we can name her?"
"Lorgar wanted to name a girl Medea. So I'll go with that."
"A beautiful name," he praises, though in his mind he can think of thousands of better names for the darling girl you had brought into the world. He smoothes your hair back and gently grasps your hands.
You yawn. "I'm tired," you mumble, watching him through half-liddled eyes.
"Then sleep," he says, bringing your hands to his mouth and kissing them. "I'll be right here with you the whole time."
Bro I am salivating, I am yearning, I am uncontrollable.
Him being like ‘I need to prepare the medicae for the next time she gives birth’, to him not wanting to name the girl what Lorgar wanted but not wanting to upset you more, I am crying.
Thank you for making this ima go read it a few more times before going to sleep brb

The special relationship between the UK and the US helped to defeat the Nazis and maintain a post-war peace for eight decades.
On Friday, February 28, 2025, Trump and JD Vance destroyed 80 years of trust and respect that the US developed through thoughtful and steady diplomacy.
We will need new leaders of the caliber of Churchill and FDR to repair the damage inflicted by Trump and JD Vance.
Friday was a sad and infuriating day for every American. But we must begin the path to recovery immediately.
To support Ukraine, see these links, posted by Timothy Snyder in his Substack essay on Saturday. Snyder writes:
"If you are thinking today about how to help Ukrainians, here are some possibilities: Come Back Alive (Ukrainian NGO that supports soldiers on the battlefield and veterans), United 24 (the Ukrainian state platform for donations, with many excellent projects), RAZOM (an American NGO, tax-deductible for US citizens, which cooperates with Ukrainian NGOS to support civilians), and Documenting Ukraine (a project that helps to give Ukrainians a voice, also tax-deductible for Americans)." https://savelife.in.ua/en/ https://u24.gov.ua/ https://www.razomforukraine.org// https://www.iwm.at/documenting-ukraine/donors

Thinking about...
Five Failures in the Oval Office (video)
In this, my first substack video, I react to the shameful encounter between American leaders and media and the Ukrainian president. No doubt there were more, but I saw five failures on our side: of hospitality, decency, democracy, strategy, and independence. Please watch and share…

Masterlist
July 13th. Crack and break.
---
There were 3 things you knew had happened yesterday.
Number 1: Your days with him had ticked from 4 to 3. This version of Izuku would go poof in a matter of days, and you were going to miss it. Somehow, Izuku had compacted a year's worth of memories in the span of two weeks, and now, you didn’t want him to let go. This was the closest he’d ever got to remembering you, thrashing against binds and battering against an unbreakable wall. You’ll miss it, of course you would.
You’ve never seen him try this hard for you.
Don’t leave me, Izuku. I’m scared of the look in your eyes when you don’t recognise me. Even if you don’t need me, even if I don’t need you, I want to stand by your side. Please don’t go. Please remember me.
Number 2: Izuku had found something
Ever since Izuku had come back from the clearing, he’d been distant. He’d found something, of course he did.
The Saviour of the world can pride himself on his unreasonable number of Quirks and excellent portfolio, but he couldn’t lie to save his life. If there was one thing in heroing he’d be bad at, it’d be undercover missions.
You drink coffee from the cup, shiver at the bitterness, and take another sip. You need to stop psyching yourself out, otherwise, you’re going to combust from the inside out. Splattered organs would not look good beside a fucked up kitchen.
And the 3rd thing…
There was a student found on campus in a pool of blood.
There was no indication of an intruder, so when she was admitted into the infirmary and patched up, everyone thought she was fine until she woke up and started bawling uncontrollably.
Depressed, Recovery Girl had said, right before admitting her into the hospital. Can’t even remember how to smile.
Chisuke had been on campus.
If Izuku hadn’t left with you yesterday, that could have been him.
You highly doubt that the villain could so much as graze Izuku, but what if he’d came in at night? Lurking in the shadows, waiting for the right time to strike…you shake your head, instead pushing your thoughts to homework.
Aizawa had reassured you that everything was under control, so why couldn’t you shake the feeling that something was going to go wrong?
—
Maybe you were being paranoid, but being paranoid saved lives okay, and if you had to look at another question involving differentiating a product rule in a fraction, you’d personally find a person with a time travelling Quirk, go back in time, and strangle whoever decided they were smart enough to jam math with letters instead of numbers.
Aizawa dms you the files within an hour, and you open and devour the multi-paged document like it was the latest chapter of a manga.
Chisuke Suzuki, the younger brother of Isamu Suzuki, has a Quirk that can shut down one emotion of his choice permanently. You sit back and read through the file, eying his details carefully before you scribble some of it down.
Analysis was good, because it also was a handy distraction. From Izuku’s dazed responses, he had his own things to work through that he didn’t want to tell you. The conversation mainly went like so:
“Hello.”
“Mm, bananas.”
“Midoriya, I was going to ask if you were doing alright? You seem pretty out of it.”
“Apples are great fruits too. I think Tokoyami can help you.”
“Midoriya, if you don’t give me a proper answer, I’m gonna take Kacchan and wham you over your head.”
“Sounds fun.”
Nothing’s more frustrating than Izuku being deep in thought.
And maybe part of you, a tiny part of you, was hurt by the fact that Izuku didn’t even think of telling you.
Shaking your head, you sigh. It doesn’t matter, it’s alright.
It’s okay, because in 3 days, Izuku won’t remember any of this at all.
—
Izuku shuffles and rereads the words in his mind once more.
Tit for tat, this for that. A brother for a brother, and pain for bits and scraps.
You want to find your memories? I understand. My Quirk is simple, very simple. Pain is not worth the weight of knowledge. Your trade is insufficient.
Try again.
“A fair trade.” He whispers, hand over his mouth as he works his way through the thoughts. “Your memories…for mine?”
Izuku shuts the thought down immediately because there’s no way that was fair. You’d kept them, held them dear to your heart and stayed by his side this entire time. You are not losing your memories to his hands.
What can I do? What can I exchange? What do I have to lose.
“Oi, idiot, you’re muttering out loud again.” Katsuki says, flopping down on a nearby beanbag. Izuku promptly ignores him.
Your trade is insufficient. Try again.
Try again.
Izuku glares down at his hands with a look that could kill, trying, but failing to find the right instrument to strike the right chord.
Other memories, perhaps?
(”Dude, is he okay? Seriously, I feel sorry for his cup, man, He could boil tea with that gaze—")
Try again.
An arm? A leg?
Try again.
His Quirk? Izuku pauses in contemplation, jerking his head up.
“Oh, he’s alive,” Shoto says tonelessly, from somewhere in the background
There’s a faint hum in his mind, an answer bubbling up to the surface, until—
Try again.
Izuku slams his head against the table.
“Bro, come on,” Kirishima whines, swiping his pancakes off the table. “My breakfast!”
“Sorry,” Izuku mutters, forcing a sheepish smile, before he dives head first back into the table.
“I think he’s lost it,” Kaminari whispers all too loudly from the safety of the couches.
Izuku chucks the pillow on his lap at Kaminari as the blond ducks.
“Haha, missed me—DUDE WHAT THE FUCK, THAT WAS A WHOLE ASS CHAIR.”
“Please get your sorry ass up to Y/n’s room and date her already.” Ochaco murmurs.
Izuku’s head shoots up from the midst of his table toppling. “What?”
“Wait no, don’t do that.” Ochaco hums seamlessly, yanking her already split coffee from the table. “Okay, you can have the table now.”
“Thanks.”
“Noo, Midoriya, man! I thought Kacchan was the mean one! Please don’t stab me with a table leg! I swear, it was just a—AHHHHH BAKUGOU FUCKING HELP. HEELLLPPPP, MIDORIYA’S GONE STIR CRAZY, HE’S MAD WITH POWER, HEL—”
—
When you walk downstairs and find your first love chasing a certain idiot blond around the living room with a whole ass table in tow, you stop and stare, before making eye contact with Ochaco. She shrugs.
Katsuki raises an eyebrow, as if to say “Why the fuck would you expect me to know?”
Izuku’s muscles are taunt and firm as he hauls the table. You watch his biceps flex, tune out Kaminari’s screaming, and lick your lips.
There’s a camera flash, and you pocket your phone.
Picture-perfect, really.
—
It’s only when Izuku returns to the dorms does his headaches come back in full force. Truthfully, he should have been expecting it. Staggering, he barely has enough time to lock his door before he falls to his knees on the ground. Everything is ice-blue, and the ringing in his ears add to the disequilibrium he’s experiencing. He’s on the floor, but he feels like the world has tilted sideways.
Pain is not worth the weight of knowledge.
He groans, and in his agony blossoms another image that tastes like blood and tears.
It’s his birthday, and the sun is out and bright. It’s his birthday, but tears are running down your cheeks, and you’re holding him like he’s dying on the battlefield and ashamed like you murdered someone with your two hands.
“Zuku, please.” You sob. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry I’m so sorry—”
He wants to say it’s okay, wants to tell you he’s fine, but he’s frozen still.
Stop meddling.
The voice whispers, disgruntled and annoyed.
Hox wax coats his brain as he screams, easing himself down from hell. Cotten candy melting in his mouth, iridescent rainbows, fluffy clouds, beautiful skies—
There’s another loud crack, and the wall fragments even more.
He yanks himself out of his own mind, and gasps at the return.
His birthday at 10 was laid bare in front of him. His Quirk Accident.
The day he forgot you, wrapped up in a neat bow and presented to him like a birthday gift.

I was wondering, what's your interpretation of tTPD as a whole?. I know a lot of people think it's a 31 album dedicated to one main muse minus 2 songs for his ex long term relationship but i was curious about your thoughts.
Also, some theorists are talking about a potential 10 years situationship between taylor and one muse and it makes me feel... weird. Because she was committed to someone else and i don't know how to feel knowing the other muse could be in some of my fave albums... sorry for the long rant
So there’s a lot going on here and it’s nuanced.
I don’t think it’s as simple as “it’s all about one person minus two songs.” There are several muses woven in both the text and subtext of the songs. And what happened with one muse in many cases was only possible because what happened with another. There are some songs that are explicitly about specific people’s actions, but overall things get muddy because situations are muddy.
This is a cop out answer, but ultimately to me the album is about Taylor. It’s about her pain and grief and trauma and also healing and recovery and joy. To reduce it to a man in particular discounts that she is the main character of her own life and story.
I do not think the story she put down in TTPD is one of a decade long situationship. As I said yesterday, I will gladly change my mind if new information comes to light. The story I picked up in TTPD is one where someone entered her life at a very vulnerable time, exploited their shared history to sow the seeds of this fantasy life to her that she was desperately grieving in her very real current life, which caused her to play revisionist history with her memories because she needed to make it “real” to herself as an escape hatch.
But even if that isn’t the case, and if it turns out that yes, she was pining for this person for ten years… it doesn’t take away from the fact that her past music is excellent, regardless of the inspiration. IMO fans would be better served to not always recall the muses when listening to music for their enjoyment. I know Taylor’s music is different because her life is so well documented and she used to be so open about who she was writing about, but very few artists do that and their music still hits. I don’t think at all about the artists’ lives when listening to any other band; hell, even in well-known messy situations like Fleetwood Mac, I’m not thinking about Stevie and Mick, I’m thinking that Landslide is beautiful and Rhiannon is a banger or whatever. If you think too much about the artists’ personal lives, you’re gonna get twisted in knots and may find there are few people you can listen to, because humans are fallible and messy and make mistakes. Like Taylor says, once the songs are out in the world, they’re not hers anymore, and you need to ascribe your own meaning to them.
Which is not to say I wasn’t surprised when I first figured out who she was writing about when I listened to TTPD, and yes the first few listens of the album made my head spin a bit for the lore of it all, but i truly listen to it like any other album now. It’s good music plain and simple.
What I’m trying to say is that you have to set your own boundaries I guess. If it really bothers you then you don’t have to listen to or engage with it. But personally I’m also not going to moralize Taylor’s or anyone else’s music because she’s human just like any of us and we all make choices in our lives. She was just brave enough to share the mess. It’s not a condoning of her actions because she doesn’t need my or anyone else’s approval for her choices. She’s recording a moment of time in her life and turned it into art, and now it takes on new meaning for listeners.
(Also if people are moralizing her choices because of the “commitment” thing well… I think they weren’t picking up on other parts of the album but. Well.)
Also my pet peeve is that I hate the word “theory” when applied to real people. They’re humans with lives, not characters in a TV show. This isn’t directed at you anon, just a general sentiment.
#pouring my heart out to anon but i didn’t pour the whiskey#once again TTPD is complex and the real heart of the story I think gets lost in all the gossip of it#people who pick up on it feel it deeply and viscerally#the thirtysomething album etc#the tortured poets department#i'm not getting into it on main but imo it's very obvious what was driving everything and why things happened the way they did#the moralizing of art in recent years is such a strange phenomenon#i don't know if it's because of the dreaded clock app or whatever

@nymfaia : "That - ... is your plan?" His chest still ached. Even worlds and reflections away, he felt the dull, mumbling pain of a long-healed wound. It had torn his very aether, he had been told: to recover at all, body or spirit, spoke more of his resiliency than his weakness. Even as a simulacrum - a shade, a foggy shadow of his real self - it still remained. The fact that his soul had not continued to rip when he was pulled across the rift was a concern for another day. Today, however - Haurchefant dug his knuckles into the space between his eyebrows, trying desperately to wrap his head around this mysterious person's plan. "You intend to keep trying? Even after - ... a half dozen attempts?" He asked, trying to keep his tone even and aloof. A commander. A knight. Not a man pulled from his love on the eve of his full recovery, forced to see the plight of a realm alike and dissimilar to his own. "- I trust you know what you are attempting," Haurchefant spoke, "however - ... at what point do we stop waiting for them to save us? Certainly, with the lot you've summoned, we've manpower aplenty. What is it about her that is so - ... imperative?" Haurchefant wasn't certain he wished to truly know, but he voiced it nonetheless. He mindlessly ran a hand over his sternum, the metal rings of his gauntlet digging into the plate to try and soothe the prickly, nervous sensation under his skin. "... do you intend," he asked, voice slow, "to return her to us? Or return her at all?"
"what is it about her that is so imperative, indeed." the exarch smiles wryly. "an excellent question. for what is it about a hero that inspires us? a hero who inspires us to commit mad acts of daring and boldness, even. acts which change the course of history itself--for the better, one can only hope. their example is the star to chart our course by--without which, we are all only lost ships at sea." he pauses. "i trust i need not explain such a thing to you, of all people. the story of your devotion is well-documented in the world i once knew...though to a different end, i will admit." it is strange, to look upon the man who inspires such grief in one time, to see him whole and complete in another. a legend, of sorts, for one who has studied the chronicle of the warrior of light with a fervor bordering on fanaticism.
they are two fanatics of a kind, though the exarch wouldn't use such harsh language to describe it. and he does not flatter himself--he doesn't know the hero as haurchefant does. he is aware his view of her is two dimensional, that of a man looking upon a cave painting many millennia later and filling in the blanks to suit his own desire. yet the fervor remains, despite his attempts at logical thinking.
"my goal is nothing less than her hale and healthy return to the world in which she belongs," the exarch says, tone suddenly serious, as if reciting a vow pledged long ago in solemn duty, "among those who love her most. i would never dream to steal her from her family." a nod of acknowledgement. "i stake no permanent claim. i merely hope to...borrow, as it were. and to return in due course."
perhaps it would be wiser to let haurchefant see him as a villain scheming to steal away their most beloved. but the exarch has no interest in hurting that valiant soul, and can't pretend he does. nor can he let himself seem too sympathetic, lest the pair of them try to do something brave and outrageous to rescue the exarch--when the time comes for them to part, anyhow. so he lets his tone cool.
"to answer your question: yes, i intend to try again. i will not stop until i get it right and she appears before me. we have a lack of convincing heroes here, and we are overrun with light. indeed, we are very much in need of darkness. if i may be bold, i believe she would want to be here. to help. it is in her nature. and if her comrades are here to assist her, all the better." the exarch does not say it, but it is implied: she would want to come here, and your opinion--your legendary protectiveness--would not be relevant to her decision.

Jojolands 20: Money for Nothing
Excellent return after the month break! Jodio and Bobby Jean take a little time to finish up their fight and we actually move on pretty quick to wrap up this hospital arc with the bulk of the chapter. I'm going to be honest, I don't think I fully get what Jodio pulled here with November Rain. I get that he was able to shield himself, deflect the bullets pretty well with it. But he has standing on a toilet in a bathroom stall, Glory Days broke the commode, then as Bobby Jean approached...Jodio did something with the water spewing out to finish him off?
Gonna be honest, stuff like this is why I tend to like the Jojos anime a little better. The way these stand battles go can make it hard to follow in black and white. I'm glad we didn't waste more time on the fight because it's been plenty long as-is...but if someone wants to take a crack at explaining it a little better I'd be thankful. The important thing is Jodio beat Bobby Jean, this panicked Lulu enough her Bags Groove stopped attacking the rest of the gang, and during the clash Jean reveals that Howler already knows about the Lava Rock. Which is a concept we'll get back to.
On the way though, we get this bit of charming stupidity from Usagi. He's down bad for Dragona and let's be honest, most of us are. Damn decidedly less charming Charmingman spoiling the mood. I do think it's pretty interesting how quickly everyone snaps back to normal and Usagi especially makes sense for not really knowing what was going on because he's been out of it.
Where this picks up though is with Paco recovering from getting hit by Glory Days. The clash creates an interesting dynamic because now there are a bunch of cops here and the gang isn't entirely sure how much of a problem that poses for them. Luckily though Usagi's ability can take care of the security cameras. If we look at Paco's recovery scene too, it kinda seems like the official story is some crazed gunman started shooting up the hospital. Which...hate to say but as an American it's not exactly an everyday thing but it is pretty believable that workers there might not be so quick to dismiss the idea some nutjob just woke up today to do that.
What this really leads to though is the mysterious workings of the Lava Rock. Pulling everything together by putting Paco in the same room as the guy from the bank. Which means the gang is now in possession of all the documents he had trying to seize the land.
Now...this isn't the Wild West. Simply holding the documents won't exactly allow some scruffy young adults to just claim the $38mil debt from Howler. They already got pretty lucky with the congressman's laptop and being able to sign off on the investigation. But the rock seems to be pretty wise. The key thing was making sure that gets started before the bank starts their own proceedings. Because then it all gets tied up in slow-moving court proceedings.
That said...Jodio is not the type of person who'd understand all that. But he does realize the best move is to get all these swiped docs to Meryl Mei. Including swiping the banker as well. When they're already taking Lulu with them. Which to me just sounds hilarious. Absconding with two whole people will surely go over smoothly.

#Lore24 Weekly Post (8/52) - Mobile Support Units
BRIEF DATA
Mobile Support Units are a network of magichines dedicated towards repairing, assisting, and supporting other magichines in dangerous situations or emergencies. They semi-frequently operate in conjunction with the Almandine Order, in the form of a small detachment that is usually stationed on the Itinerant Fist.
The MSUs form a crucial backbone in the magichine society's infrastructure, embodying a commitment to the well-being and functionality of their kind. The MSU's main goal is to assist magichines accessing support--sometimes this means directly supplying care, sometimes getting those in need of care to places where they can receive it, sometimes just assisting others, sometimes a simple emergency repair.
The MSUs operate with a diverse skill set, ranging from emergency repairs to providing medical assistance and logistical support. Equipped with advanced diagnostic tools and nano-repair modules, they can address a spectrum of issues magichines might encounter in the field.
In addition to their reactive role, MSUs engage in proactive measures such as routine maintenance and preventive care programs. This forward-thinking approach aims to identify and address potential issues before they escalate, contributing to the overall sustainability and longevity of the magichine population. MSUs embody a sense of camaraderie and shared responsibility, reinforcing the idea that the strength of magichine society lies not just in individual capabilities but in the collective support and collaboration of its members.
OPERATIONS
Rescue and Recovery Operations: During emergencies such as natural disasters or hostile encounters, MSUs coordinate rescue and recovery efforts to locate and evacuate stranded or incapacitated magichines. They employ specialized search algorithms, deploy rescue drones, and coordinate with other units to ensure swift and efficient operations.
Data Analysis and Research: MSUs contribute to ongoing research efforts in arcane mechanics by collecting and analyzing data from field operations. They document anomalies, record performance metrics, and collaborate with research institutions to advance understanding and innovation in magichine technology.
Emergency Repairs: MSUs are equipped with versatile nano-repair modules capable of swiftly addressing mechanical failures and damage sustained by magichines in the field. Whether it's a malfunctioning limb or a critical system failure, the MSUs excel in on-the-spot repairs.
Medical Assistance: In situations where magichines require medical attention, MSUs provide immediate aid. They carry advanced medical modules capable of diagnosing and treating various health issues, from minor glitches in cognitive functions to more severe physical injuries.
Logistical Support: MSUs play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth logistical operations of the Sun Corps. They coordinate transportation, resource allocation, and communication to enhance the efficiency of magichine missions. This includes managing supply chains and optimizing routes for strategic deployments.
Preventive Maintenance: MSUs implement proactive maintenance protocols to prevent system failures and optimize operational efficiency. This includes conducting routine inspections, performing system checks, and applying software updates to ensure that magichines remain in peak condition.
Environmental Adaptation: MSUs are equipped with modules that allow magichines to adapt to diverse environmental conditions. Whether operating in extreme temperatures, low-gravity environments, or radiation-heavy zones, the MSUs ensure magichines are suitably equipped and protected.
Training and Skill Enhancement: Beyond immediate support, MSUs contribute to the ongoing development of magichines' skills. They organize training programs, share knowledge on latest advancements, and facilitate skill enhancement sessions to ensure magichines are well-prepared for evolving challenges.
Community Outreach: MSUs engage in community-building initiatives by fostering a sense of unity among magichines. They organize events, facilitate communication channels, and act as mediators to address concerns within the magichine society, promoting a cohesive and supportive community.
STRUCTURE
MSUs are organized into regional divisions, each responsible for a designated geographical area or sector of operations. These divisions are led by experienced magichines known as Regional Coordinators, who oversee all MSU activities within their jurisdiction.
MSUs employ cross-functional teams consisting of magichines with diverse skill sets and specializations. These teams may include engineers, medical specialists, logistics experts, and data analysts, enabling MSUs to tackle a wide range of challenges and tasks with precision and efficiency.
The three main ways regional MSU divisions organize their members are:
Rescue Team (1 - 20 operators)
Team Leader: Coordinates and leads small rescue teams during emergencies.
Emergency Medics: Provide immediate medical assistance in crisis situations.
Technical Specialists: Skilled operators for rapid technical solutions.
Communication Operator: Maintains communication between the rescue team and the central command.
Field Engineer: Conducts quick repairs and ensures the functionality of equipment.
Rapid Response Company (100 - 300 operators)
Company Commander: Leads the Rapid Response Company and oversees its operations.
Medical Support Unit: A specialized team with advanced medical capabilities.
Technical Assistance Squad: Rapidly deploys for technical repairs and solutions.
Logistics and Coordination Team: Manages resources, transportation, and communication.
Training Instructors: Conduct ongoing training for the larger unit.
Support Brigade (2500 - 4000 operators)

The narc is right on schedule.
Here we go again. Narcs love to spoil shit they can't control, and @cordeliaperry - formerly cyberwitch85 and who knows how many sockpuppets - pops up. She's got a hard-on for Merry Chissmas now, because if you've shit your pants in front of an entire fandom, what's one more fart in all the stink?
My first experience with her was when she threatened a friend with revenge porn. Another more comprehensive link here. It was not a rumor - it was something she did. She likes to delete her replies and edit her posts, so you have to document every interaction.
I did not dox her, though I do have the information from a post that she herself made. She's locked her archive and blocked me, but I do have screenshots and her showing her whole ass on other blogs. Receipts, baby.
The reason she’s accusing me of doxing is because she donated to my cancer fund and I offered the money back. Someone, not me, sent her the money. I also turned over the $100 she funded me to a cancer charity. She also does not know the meaning of the word 'doxxing' which is the public exposition of personal information such as name, address, and so forth. However, it is a hot-button word that gets attention - and since she's a textbook narc, that's what she feeds on.
Not a Boomer - it's an ageist dogwhistle from a person desperate to recruit her own army of flying monkeys. Gen X, represent.
She went full bunnyboiler on a writer formerly in the fandom, sending multiple hate anons - that were so obviously her. And there are so many, many, many of them.
She is alleged to have used her Discord server to spy on her 'friends' - one of the reasons I now avoid Discord servers.
Since she was not getting any traction attacking said author, she turned on one of the author's friends with a bloodthirsty campaign of harassment.
She bullied a Thrawn fan out of the fandom and from their blog. She might have done this to others that I don't know about, considering how many fans disappeared from the fandom when I was sick starting from February 2022 (diagnosis) to March/April of 2022 (recovery from last surgery).
She hates me because I've gotten very fucking tired of narcs torpedoing fandoms because they want to be a BNF. She bullied a lot of people, and people are scared to stand up to her. I don't give two farts in a tornado. I'll punch back on the bitch.
People are afraid of her - one reason that Merry Chissmas has an anon submission option. She allegedly gathered people's contact info to organize a fandom penpal activity, then also used an author's contact info to harass them. Nobody wanted to be next.
As she cycles through her narcissistic rage, she's staying on brand. Narcs love to ruin holidays and make it all about them. You can find out about the darker side of fandom here with history, tutorials on protecting yourself, resources, and other informative articles.
And finally, I offer a video of wisdom from Darren F. Magee - an excellent psychologist, fellow sci-fi nerd, and man on a mission.
youtube
If she can't control an event and if she can't be the center of attention, she'll do her level best to ruin it for everyone else. In the spirit of the holidays, I think I'm going to - a few times a week - post a screenshot of her clownery along with an appropriate Darren Magee video just to make the point.
Merry Chissmas, 🤡

Why Caltron Clays & Chemicals Is the Preferred Milk Calcium Powder Manufacturer for India’s Pharma Sector
Introduction:
Caltron Clays & Chemicals is a leading Milk Calcium Powder manufacturer and supplier in India, dedicated to delivering premium-quality pharmaceutical raw materials. In an era where clean-label, naturally sourced ingredients are in high demand, Caltron’s innovative product, Milkical®, has positioned the company at the forefront of the pharmaceutical calcium revolution. Sourced from dairy and developed through a proprietary extraction process, Milkical® is designed for optimal absorption and bioavailability, catering to pharmaceutical manufacturers across the globe.
Why Natural Calcium is the Future of Pharma
As global healthcare shifts towards more transparent and sustainable formulations, pharmaceutical companies are reevaluating traditional ingredients. Synthetic calcium compounds like calcium carbonate may offer cost-efficiency but fall short on key fronts such as bioavailability and gastrointestinal tolerance.
Milk Calcium Powder offers a natural alternative that aligns with evolving consumer and regulatory expectations. Caltron’s Milkical® preserves critical co-factors found in milk, including elemental calcium, phosphorus, casein phosphopeptides (CPPs), and milk proteins. These elements work together to ensure better absorption, higher efficacy, and greater nutritional synergy.
Introducing Milkical®: The Science of Bioavailable Calcium
Milkical® is Caltron's proprietary Milk Calcium Powder, crafted through a unique dairy based process that retains:
Elemental Calcium (30–35%)
Natural Phosphorus (12–15%)
Casein Phosphopeptides for enhanced absorption
Essential Milk Proteins and Lipids
The result is a clean, highly absorbable calcium source that supports bone health, muscle function, and cellular metabolism. Unlike synthetic variants, Milkical mimics the body’s natural nutrient profile, making it an ideal choice for high performance formulations.
What Makes Caltron Clays the Preferred Milk Calcium Powder Supplier in India
Caltron Clays & Chemicals has set benchmarks in the pharmaceutical raw materials industry for more than two decades. As a Milk Calcium Powder manufacturer and supplier in India, Caltron stands out through its:
ISO and GMP certified facilities
Over 20 years of manufacturing expertise
In-house R&D and quality control systems
Customized granulation and packaging
Regulatory documentation and export support
Pharma clients around the world rely on Caltron for timely delivery, batch-to-batch consistency, and technical collaboration.
Comparing Milkical® to Conventional Calcium Sources
Traditional calcium salts like calcium carbonate and calcium citrate have limitations:
Poor solubility in low acid environments
Dependence on vitamin D3 for absorption
Side effects like constipation and bloating
Milkical®, by contrast, offers:
Superior solubility and absorption
Enhanced bioavailability through naturally occurring CPPs
Better patient compliance due to fewer side effects
Compatibility with minerals like magnesium and zinc
Nutritional Synergy: More Than Just Calcium
Milkical combines calcium with supporting nutrients for maximum health benefits:
Phosphorus: Aids bone mineralization
CPPs: Improves calcium transport and uptake
Milk Proteins: Enhance nutrient absorption
Lipids: Contribute to cellular structure and function
These elements help create a comprehensive ingredient ideal for formulations addressing:
Pediatric bone development
Geriatric osteoporosis prevention
Post-menopausal bone support
Orthopedic recovery
Pharmaceutical Applications of Milkical®
Caltron’s Milk Calcium Powder is versatile and integrates smoothly into various dosage forms:
Pediatric syrups and chewables
Bone health capsules for adults
Effervescent calcium drinks
Nutritional powders and tablets
Fortified functional foods
Its excellent solubility, palatability, and natural origin make it suitable for sensitive populations.
Sustainability and Clean Label Commitment
Caltron Clays & Chemicals is deeply committed to sustainable manufacturing. Milkical is produced from dairy by-products, minimizing environmental waste. The company adheres to clean-label principles:
Free from synthetic additives
Eco-friendly processing and packaging
Full traceability from source to shipment
Compliant with international food and pharma regulations
This makes Caltron a preferred supplier for companies that prioritize ethical sourcing and environmental responsibility.
