How Sonia Delaunay expanded the colorful vocabulary of modernist abstraction into the realms of textiles and industrial design
This volume presents sketches and textile designs by the great Russian French modernist artist Sonia Delaunay alongside her paintings and interior and fashion designs. It demonstrates how she transferred her color philosophy of “Simultanism,” which she developed in her painting, to the mediums and surfaces of modern life. Maison Sonia Delaunay also explores the international textile companies with whom she collaborated, and shows how she explored the relationship between art and industry, and the ways in which she used her many abilities to design a visionary modern life. The book includes the first scholarly essays on Delaunay's collaborations with silk industrialist Robert Perrier and couturier Jacques Heim, who were among her most important collaborators. Born in Odessa, Ukraine, Sonia Delaunay (1885–1979) migrated to Paris in 1906 and became a key figure in the city’s avant-garde scene. During these early years, her paintings underwent a formal shift influenced by the vivid colors of Fauvism. She soon met her husband, fellow artist Robert Delaunay, and the couple pioneered a fusion of Cubism and Neo-Impressionism that they termed Simultanism—abstract painting that uses color in a manner comparable to the use of sound and rhythm in music. In 1964, Delaunay became the first living woman artist to have a retrospective at the Louvre.

the woman with Parasol facing right and the woman with Parasol facing left!
this two were separated for more than a century and this is when they got reunited i believe in an exibition on the US.
To me it always looked like they were on the same hill looking at eachother. So i was bored and i made this

Together at last
ALSO! i found out i was born on Monet's birthday! Coincidence? of course it fucking is, but it's hilarious, happy late birthday to him i guess.

Adult (20+) MC finally figures out how to properly make money, BESIDES working for Azul. Become not only the prefect and be a student, but an on the call designated therapist!
"Crowley, really. I'm far older than the other students, it is not my fault the mirror has brought you a full grown adult rather than another proper student! I finished all of my schooling where I am from, I do not wish to repeat it along side these....kids!" You had complained to him. Well, what was he to do? The mirror had obviously chosen you to be at that school, you had no other merits at the time to offer him, and to simply put it...without a way to go home, what else could possibly occupy your time in a world in which you know nothing about, than gather intel by throwing yourself into the most prestigious of schools? The answer seemed obvious at the time, until you realized just how bad it was.
Teenagers are still teenagers, after all. Especially a bunch of teenage boys surrounded by...well... Other teenage boys. Magic or not, they were still going through any other mental struggles as any normal human. However, putting magic into the mix had surely caused you some...extra unprecedented grief you had never needed to worry about in your world. After what, three? Four? Overblots and life endagerment exibitions, you had an epiphany. With extensive knowledge of the human brain system, life experience, and a plothera of coping mechanisms under your belt, what better way to open the door than to become none other than the designated student body therapist?
With some rather convincing techniques, you had managed to convince Crowley to, as you put it...
"Let me take this off of your plate! You are so busy being such an amazing head master running this school as perfectly as you are, I understand the durasic increase of overblots have your hands tied behind your back! As you know, I am an adult with ample experience in the field of mental health. Although I don't have the documents to prove it as much at this time seeing as they are back in my world....I just know you will not regret hiring me as a therapist."
A few more convincing lines (and perhaps a week of pestering, begging, manipulating-- I mean convincing , he had eventually hired you as the school therapist! With, of course, the expectation that you had to take an additional class to further certify you were able to properly do such a job. (You were kind of mad a bout that, seeing as you knew you were qualified, but hey. Pick and choose your battles I guess. At least you managed to get by with a couple additional classes, instead of a million years of schooling.)
You had a personal office in ramshackle, an empty dorm becoming suitable with your own personal desk, computer, book shelf, and another necessities. You had a location in the main building, the room connected to the nurses office had been refurnished as your main office. Book shelves of self care, items for fiddling with, bean bags, posters with encouraging words, and a desk full of papers, along with other needed items graciously funded by the school (you threatened Crowley at one point, accusing him of not caring of his students.) Of course, being on call meant students may drop by the dorm at any given time for your aid and expertise, so the ramshackle dorm lounge was also redecorated suited for sessions that were a bit more casual.
But of course, you also managed to juggle your studies as a student, wanting to continue to learn about magic. Working on the call was nice, keeping your phone on and excusing yourself whenever official work called for you. Unless you rather not be a student, that is fine, too. Full time therapist work may be the job for you!
Helping students heal one tragic back story at a time seemed perfectly fitting. (You just wanted to finally get paid and recognized for what you were already doing.)

Junon and Venus: Dior's Famous Sister Gowns from 1949-50
For his 1949/1950 line, Christian Dior designed a set of sister gowns to be promotional items for the I. Magnin & Company department store in San Francisco. In the heyday of the department store, I. Magnin in San Francisco reigned supreme. What was shown in the display windows of I. Magnin dictated what high style was.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Right: Venus: Four pleats of organza line the top of the simple, strapless bodice.  Bodice and skirt are made of white silk and white sequins with a simple ribbon waistband.
Left: Junon: Diaphanous layers of silk tulle, with glittering (plastic) sequin embroidery on curved, ombréed flounces are meant to evoke the feathers of the goddess Juno's favorite bird - the peacock.
The sisters live at the De Young Museum in San Francisco. Before they are shipped for exibition elsewhere, they undergo extensive evaluation by garment conservation experts. They are so fragile due to the sequins and stitching, that when they're required for an exhibition, they must be left on the maniquin to be moved, so that handling them does not disturb the fragile materials. Upon arrival at their destination, Juno and Venus are immediately put in glass cases.

My turn! I knoow its the second time im bringing "Batman" (in this case Adamastor) Afonso but couldn't stop thinking about batcat braport.
Luciano`s secret identity being The Jaguar, a thief that acts in the shadows. No high valued paintings or diamonds are safe from his claws. But not even him could hide forever from the vigilant Adamastor.
The Jaguar liked beautiful things. He liked the money from those beautiful things even more, but did keep some things for himself.
Right now, as he was holding the silver bracelet and glanced at the intricate design of sea shells, waves and blue saphires, he had to admit that he was tempted to keep it.
He had sold the rest of the loot from the museum to the guy with suspicious accent and bad cologne back at the warehouse, but, for some reason he had kept the bracelet.
The story he heard about it might have something to do with it. There were plenty of stories about sailors being taken by the sea, but this one had supposely been a gift from a sailor to his young son, with the promise that he would come back for it on the son's wedding day.
The story didn't mention if the father returned or not.
"You're getting sloppy," a voice said above him.
Sure enough, the Adamastor was standing above him.
"God dammit, how did you figure it out?" Jaguar asked, hidding the bracelet in one of his pockets.
"Your buyer bragged about it on his Grindr profile."
Luciano sighed loudly. "Fucking idiot!"
"Any way, most of what you sold him were replicas. I knew sooner or later you'd rob that exibition."
The Jaguar's mouth dropped and he grabbed his knive. "Oh for fucks sake!"
The Adamastor smiled. "Relax. I got what I wanted. I'm not in the mood to fight you tonight. Did you like the bracelet?"
"It's fake too, isn't it? Here. Keep it."
"No. You can keep it. I actually made that bracelet myself."
Luciano blinked. "You made it?"
"It looks good on you," he said before disappearing into the shadows.

Froger infodump thread, because I posted my last one at 3AM and wanted to polish it up a bit
Tumblr media
i notice a lot from the fandom that people depict Froger as a frog, which i think is bizzare. I know someone else made a post about this, but I wanted to add my own thoughts
Tumblr media
Look at that, it’s like she’s in one of those ____ in real life videos! Frogfish are in the angler family, they have lures (minus the whole bioluminescence thing) and everything. They’re actually pretty unheard of so I assume most folks don’t know frogfish exist so making her a frog was easier to envision. But having her be a frog whereas all the other anglers are fish is strange. Every other angler/fish based entity are saltwater exclusive creatures if not from the deep sea itself. Why would there be a freshwater frog, and it’s an angler? How would it have even come from the original angler? She’d be very out of place in the enviornment. Knowing she’s based off the Iron Lung monster is another thing though. I don’t think it’s confirmed but the fandom website for Iron Lung says that the monster is inspired off of a frogfish or at least an anglerfish in general. Though the fandom websites for Pressure both say she’s a frogfish. Also, why in the world would a frog have an anglerfish lure? Though I understand it was added quite recently, I still find frog designs of her funny. Another frogfish trait she has is the texture of her skin/on the ridges of her eyes. It’s the same whiskerlike sensory hairs that some species of frogfish have.
I don’t get why so many fans are so salty about the fact Zeal gave them canon genders and then gifted Froger a lure. “Why would gasses have a gender” there is a ten foot tall, completely sentient mutated fish man with glowing eyes that sells items to you. How about the things that disguise themselves as walls so that they can sneak up and eat you, or the fact you can eat THEM if they die. I feel like these things would stir up better questions than the fact the anglers have genders. I think that Froger being a girl is so cool honestly. I don’t see many completely monsterous female characters.
I also feel like Froger has an increased chance of being more intelligent. Her hunting strategy of going back three times is unlike any of the other anglers and is very persistent. She relies on the player being inexperienced and leaving the first time, and if not, getting them on the third time if they leave the locker. The rest of the anglers hunting mechanics are just to rush forward without breaking the path, unless it’s to catch you when you’re in sight. Chainsmoker is a tiny bit of an exception but I plan to write a thread about him later. The overseer document says itself that Froger “knew the player was there” and returned for them. Which brings the question, why is she the only one to exibit advanced techniques? I know pandemonium is similar but he’s not an angler, only connected to the family through electrical signals and other features. I feel like the fandom brushes off Froger or declares their hatred for her outright. I tried to find her in a comment section about unpopular Pressure faves and found one mention of her. I will represent the Froger fanclub
Anyway, these are my thoughts, anyone is welcome to add more

Since Shakira has the silver costume with variations, they need to give Meg the new black costume (with variations) to avoid double silver shows. Meg’s one costume doesn’t work for all 6 queens. Neither does Laura’s but I’ve given up on the idea of the lilac swalt costume getting any variations (even though they’d look SO cool).
I agree with whoever said it feels like the UKT (or Seymour Tour as the latest cast has been referred to by crew members!) and WE productions are being run by completely different teams. We’re getting FED by the tour - new black costume, alt costumes for Millie/Abi/Eve, silver variations. But on the West End - the flagship production! - we have double silver, two swings without variations (and costumes that don’t work all-round for 6 queens), no alt costumes for Odelia/Honey/Leonor… It’s giving cheap.
I know it’s a good idea practically to reuse old principal costumes BUT alt costumes are part of what made Six so popular and unique. And I hate to see the erasure of teal and orange. :( Six is such a cheap show to run, they could definitely afford to make more costumes for the West End production to please the fans and make it look visually better. But it’s giving budget.
I agree that silver main variation and pink are not the best option for covering all six queens, and at this point they are not doing anything about it for WE 25-26. But they dont need to give Meg anything. Like I said around cast change the obvious choice was to at least give her variations. Ideal plan would have been to introduce a new design with her or at least teal/orange if they were planning to do principal costumes for second covers from the start. They have made new costumes for alts second contracts before so there is a precedent. Same for Laura, in general the idea of a swing costume is a costume that is different to others onstage to avoid duplicates and that doesn't look out of place. Silver and pink with their main skirts are not ideal as swing costumes once you start thinking about characterization. But they work well enough for that to not be an issue.
Second who said Seymour tour??? That makes me really happy actually (always been a little sad that only the US tours got in show names).
I truly don't know why the different approaches. We need to aknowledge that developing a new costume for a February cast change is really complicated. You need to coordinate around the holidays and many people traveling for them, costume makers will be saturated with panto and other holiday projects, and the start of the year is heavy on film/tv. Just generally a lot happening to the point that assembling the full costume team for only one costume might not be possible. It could also be that the Six costume team had been working on development but there were setbacks in the process or just not enough time to take the project to completion for February so they just pushed it to now.
And there is the factor of UKT going international, they can't call in an emergency cover that easily. In the case of an emergency they might need to speed someone through rehearsal for a new role for the show to actually go on. With alt costumes they have the safety net of already having a costume alts can wear for new roles instead of having to figure out what they can wear in a rush.
The thing I'll never get tired of saying is that you need to separate fandom from audiences. As much as fandom is the loudest in social media it is not by far the biggest part of the audience. That is regular theater goers and tourists. They dont know about alt costumes and frankly don't care. There are things done for fandom specifically: takeovers, some of the merch, events like WEL, costume exibits, etc. Costumes are not that. If the WE alts got alt costumes those would be seen irl only by a handful of fans. The rest of us are online and will give them the online engagement anyway.
The other thing I will never get tired of saying is that long running shows need to prioritize longevity. Reusing costumes is part of that. It is not cheap. It is normal for theater and the right path for a long running show. And I am aware huge parts of this fandom were not in theater fandom before. But I was and I can tell you that this is perfectly normal theater behavior. They have a few dozen costumes in storage from previous casts, it is a waste of both space and money to just keep them in storage forever. Cruise costumes in particular barely got any wear, same for some alt costumes, and they have been making things with alterations in mind for a while. It is pretty much the norm to get as much wear out of very expensive costumes as possible. Making new alt costumes that will only be worn a handfull of times for every new cast is the weird thing to do.

Continuation
Today has been enlightening, and has helped me design new testing procedures. Honestly, I should have thought more about this before altering reality on a fundamental level. Anyways, the new states of matter:
Value 4: plasma?
The cube began to glow a bright white, and no longer cast a shadow. I was unable to feel anything when I attempted to touch it, which was quite fortunate. If there had been an accurate representation of heat, I likely would have been atomized, along with much of the local infrastructure. I have decided to first test any future changes with a special apparatus I designed. It consists of a broom, an oven mitt, and duct tape. It will henceforth be referred to as Test Aperatus one, or TA1
Value 5: Non-Newtonian substance (slime)
The cube appeared to become an opaque white liquid, almost indistinguishable from a solid. However, upon investigation via TA1, I found it exibited a minor resistance to pressure. I then made use of my Problematic Code Sledgehammer, now known as TA2, in order to test my theory. The point of impact hardened instantly, and the backlash led to me dropping TA2 next to my foot. I will now be using steel toed shoes, in order to prevent injury.
Value 6: Error?
When I attempted to test this value, I received a type 2 error. I have not yet determined what it means, as there are more states of matter after this one, but I feel that this is important to record.
Value 7: Quantum Positive Solid
The cube appeared to be a solid. However, when testing via TA1, I was distracted by a phone call. While I wasn’t not looking, the cube became no longer solid, and TA1 entered the space the cube occupied. When I looked at the cube again, TA1 became stuck. It appears that Value 7 only exists while being visually observed. I also was unable to digitally connect with it unless I had it in my vision.
Value 8: Quantum Negative Solid
The cube became invisible, and I was unable to detect it. However, it became physical when not under direct visual observation.
Value 9-A:Quantum Positive/Negative Liquid
Value B-C: Quantum Positive/Negative Gas
Value D: Quantum Positive Plasma?
Value E: Type 2 Error(Quantum Negative Plasma?)
Value F-10: Quantum Positive/Negative Non-Newtonian Fluid?
Value 20: Type 2 Error
Value 30: Quantum Negative ???
I was unable to determine the actual properties of this material, but it definitely exists. It appears to have heavy influence on perception, as I was unable to concentrate on anything unless I was observing the cubes location. I was fortunate this material was Quantum Negative, as that gave me a way to easily disable its effects.
I now better understand some of the possible risks of this experiment. I was able to confirm there were more materials, but I ended up receiving several type 2 errors. I will be taking a few days to theorycraft and design some safety measures before continuing my experiments. This is just so fascinating!
Pleasant day,
Tester

So I had this idea to make a videogame
🔻Interested? More below!🔻
Okay, so this game is something similar to BATIM or Poppy Playtime.
You worked here before, and after being fired, the facility soon shut down. Years have passed, and now you decided to pay a visit to your old place of memories, perhaps to find something. You meet something you shouldn't have seen before, and now you're stuck here until you defeat that thing.
So first, to get to the actual production line, you have to go through the bugs. There are three sectors: Main, for Spiders, for Ants and for Bees. Be it any normal exploration, you'd go straight to the facility, through the main exibit, but oh no! The thing's locked. So, in order to progress, you'll have to open exibits, find keys, solve a few puzzles and escape the main rulers of the sectors! Sounds easy.
So, this facility will not just be a toy/cartoon making building, it also doubles as an animatronic bug exibit for the little kids! Kids love mechanic toys, some enjoy bugs, so why not mix it together?
On your way back, you meet Father. He's a big mantis animatronic, made not just for the children, but to help workers as well! He looks less appealing due to that exact reason. Father is in charge of the main area, he keeps the glitched animatronics in their designated area, to keep those who enter safe. At first, he junges at you, mistaking you for another bug or an intruder, but Flou quickly comes to save you. After that, Father explains a few things to you, then allows you to progress. Don't forget him, he'll come up later.
First comes the Ant section. The queen, Martha, is the ruler here. After getting the key from this section, you meet Flou (pronounced like "flew"). She's a small ladybug animatronic with an ability to fly! Just like a real bug. In one of the glass cases, you can see her friend - Flick. He's dead. What a shame. Around the same time, you find out that bugs here have broken code due to a glitch that nobody was able to fix. The bugs have started to eat eachother, and the only few that were left untouched by the glitch are Flou and...
After you get the key, you meet the ruler of the area - king Archebald, one big tarantula. He doesn't attack you immediarely, like Martha did, he instead tries to lure you in his trap with Flou as bait. But you're smarter than that. You get Flou and dash for the exit, successfully escaping Archebald and his disgusting, dark palace.
Next up is the Spider area! Ew. Flou gets stolen from you here, so you have to progress on your own. Again. Here you can go through the backdoors area, meeting the "Beetle" room and a beetle plush, perhaps a resident of this room.
The last before the least, the Bee exibit. The bugs refer to it as "Golden Kingdom", and it's rightful ruler is Queen Elizabeth (no, not the british one). You meet her right after you enter, but she seems chill at first. Even offers you gifts from what her servants found in the further areas of the game. But you're here for only one thing - the key to the facility. Once you get it, Elizabeth gets angry that you don't want to stay, then sends her faithful servants after you. Once they fail, the queen lets you go, saying that "she has a few heads to sever".
Now, the last area of the game - the Facility itself! Father goes with you on this one, since he doesn't know himself what's down there. However, as you progress, Father starts to give into the glitch. To stop him from chasing you around, you turn the production on, which tragically murders Father. You now successfully made Flou sad. Father's head is the only thing left intact, so you take it, in hopes of fixing him later. Flou suggests that you should find the source of the glitch and kill it off like a roach, so nothing bad happens anymore. That means going deeper into the facility.
Descending down below, you notice how that roach statement becomes more relevant. Little hologram roaches run around by your feet, sometimes messing with the light sensors neccecary for opening doors. Though, there's nothing that can stop you. Even deeper in, you find the source of all the glitches: a generator in a shape of a roach. You find a weapon and bust the thing open... finding out it containds a keycard. Where does it lead? To the blueprint room! The source of every bug. In hopes of fixing Father, and destroying anything relevant to the roach, you go there, noticing how the holograms dissappeared. You fix Father, return with him to the Main area, then wave a goodbye to the friends you made along the way, as you leave back home, satisfied with your success in killing the glitch. A nuce cup of coffee should do.
Now, that is all! The game is supposed to be in 3-D, perhaps with some gimmicks to top it off. Though, here's a few problems that make it impossible:
1. I'm a 14 year old girl, so nobody will take this project seriously.
2. I don't have money nor courage to ask for a few VAs for the game.
3. I'm not a writer, so it won't be all that good
4. I have nearly zero programming expierence, all I can do from this is 3-D models.
So, if you enjoyed, please leave a like, perhaps a good ol' reblog will do, maybe even tell me your thoughts on this idea! I'm happy to receive any feedback. Have a great time of day!

Just Dance Theory: Jack Rose's sibling
I'm so glad Littlsiha brought up the Kid of the Swan because I've been theorising this for a while and have just a few days before, made a huge break in the case that I would like to share with everyone and my supporting evidence to why I think Dahlia the coach for Don't Start Now and Flowers is Jack's sister.
Exibit A) Naming Convention
The most obvious connection between these two is that they both have flowers as part of their names.
Exibit B) Costuming
Now, although both the Flower siblings wear suits, with blacks, golds, and pinks prevalent in their designs, that's not the comparison I want to make. I want to compare Dahlia's suit to her mother's costume for Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This.
Both coaches wear black pantsuits over a brighter low cut, brighter top/leotard. Given that Flowers is a song about moving on, self-care and healing, perhaps she has decided to accept her past and better herself from it. Hence why her suit is adorned with her own floral motif.
But this is not the first time we have met Dahlia. The first time we see her is in Don't Start Now, where she wears a blue and gold dress, I will say, though, her top, her shoes and her glove are purple and red, colours that are worn by Jack Rose. I like to think this was shortly after leaving Eternyx as a form of rebellion against her mother and is doing everything to distance herself from Night Swan.
Exibit C) Map Colour Palates
Flowers, Don't Start Now,and Treasure all have backgrounds, which have pale gold and light pink tones to them.
Not only that, but in the later two, they both have sections within the routine where that background shifts to a stronger gold and deep purple, the colour of Jack Rose's glove.
Exibit D) Purple Glove Theory
Before I get into this section, for clarification, when I say signature glove, I'm referring to the glove that all coaches wear that the player matches the controller to.
So, as previously stated, Jack has two gloves. Typically, his gold glove is his signature glove, but in Treasure, the illusion is flipped, using the purple glove as his signature, specifically in this idealic dream under Night Swan's control.
Now, what's fascinating about this Sweet Dreams, Night Swan's glove is pink. However, the trailer for the upcoming Y2K event has an emote where she her glove has now changed to purple, so why would they change it for the emote?
I think this represents a familial bond between the three and by showing the real Jack himself, wearing it in a world associated with Dahlia's colours. Night Swan might be tempting him with the prospect of being a complete family again, as well as his "narcissism."
Exhibit D) Ice Cream
So this is just an interesting detail I picked up on. If anyone has a better explanation, please let me know.
So, the JD Twitter account posted a thread about what the 2023 coaches' favourite foods are. While most of the answers were jokes and references. I couldn't for the life of me figure out what Jack's favourite food being vanilla ice cream is a reference to.
For the JD 2024 Edition celebration event, one of the rewards was an avatar for Dahlia with the quote, "Art is more comforting than ice cream. It helps me break free!" There's nothing in either of her maps or Jack's maps that reference ice cream, so it seems a bit weird and out of left field. Unless this is a comfort food between the two that reminds them of the other.
So what happened between these two siblings and what had to Dahlia after she left?
Well that is a theory and a post for another day as this one is pretty long as is. But I do have some ideas and let's just say their interesting to say the least.
