Tropical Version (not a fully detailed exploration of certain placements)

Sag, Leo mercuries are so both super funny, but they express it very differently. Sag are the type of say something without thinking about it fully, but Leo mercuries once they get to know you will know what makes you laugh because they know what will. Leo mercuries are hilarious when telling stories, Sag mercuries are hilarious at commentary! For those who do have Venus in the 9th (potentially Venus in Sag), look where yout Venus/DSC line is in astrocartography and lmk if you seem to attract foreigners from there or not. Leo placements (Sun, Rising, Moon) can stifle themselves due to their need of validation and praise. When they dont get the praise they were expecting (even for bomb ass ideas and such) they will forget about it and toss it to the side because they didn't get validated for it. Most Leo's do well once they stop craving validation and praise from others and start learning to trust themselves with their ideas. They unfortunately lack self trust as much as they appear to have it.

The tricky thing is that these natives can either manifest more or screw it up. Their luck is totally in their hands.

9th lord in 2nd house - These natives may have a strict father figure. Buying things = affection for these fathers in some cases. These natives want a philosophical partner and one that expands their knowledge and travels with them. Their partner should add value to their life. Might marry people outside of their community/ religion/ country. Good placement for earning in foreign currencies. Working with international clients can bring fortune. Can gain through writing/ vlogging/ modeling, etc. After marriage, they can be spoiled by their spouse, like a kingly/queenly treatment. Spouse will buy them whatever they ask.

9th lord in 3rd house - These natives can learn a foreign language or attend classes for that. Father can control your life, good or bad, in some cases. These natives gain freedom once they're free of their father's hold or move away from home. Gains through business and marriage. Father might travel a lot for work. Writing, blogging, singing, etc can bring profits. These natives may struggle with speaking and handwriting in childhood. Good placement for a salesman, a TV show host/ reporter, or any communication-related career etc. Spouse can be of a different cultural background or someone whose mother language is different from the native.

9th lord in 4th house - These natives are law-abiding citizens. Mother is of great influence in life, shaping their worldviews or supporting them in their life in general. Father could have been competitive in his career and wouldn't take NO for an answer. Father could have been egoistical or dominating at home, in some cases. These natives might even be indebted because of their father. Arguments/clashes with father.

9th lord in 7th house - Father can be a self-employed person or could have changed his career in his 30s. Gains through the father/paternal side. Luck activates in their 30s. Can take over father's business, in some cases. If 9th lord is afflicted, the father might not approve of the spouse these natives wanna marry, resulting in a strained relationship with the father. Lucky enough to have mentors or good partnerships in their lives.

9th lord in 8th house - For example, these natives can be an atheist and still be afraid of ghosts, lol. These natives possess higher intelligence when it comes to the occult and understanding certain things better than others but won't share it with others. They don't wanna be seen as a crazy or weirdo. These natives go through experiences that can't be expressed in words. If they shared it, society might even lock them up in a mental institution. A placement where one can get famous overnight. In some cases, these natives would buy herbal oils or herbal products to detox their body and mind. Can worship a certain god/goddess or do rituals secretly without letting others know about it, in some cases. 9th lord in 9th house - Can feel anxious about what would happen next in their life or worries about future a lot. These natives are really lucky as security and divine protection follow them wherever they go. These natives, for example, can be held at gunpoint and will be saved at the last minute somehow. They don't believe in luck or can be pessimistic about things not happening for them in their own way. These natives will learn that their luck comes through surrendering and letting go of their negative thinking. Longevity for the father and paternal side can be more established or financially well-off than their maternal side.

9th lord in 10th house - These natives can follow their father's footsteps in career or advice and support from father figures as long as the 9th lord isn't afflicted. If afflicted, they can even change their last name or their name itself to not associate with their paternal side. Can change their names for professional reasons, in some cases. Wealth increases by following the advice of their mentors or well-wishers. Donating or volunteering in retirement homes or senior living facility or in hospice can increase their luck.

9th lord in 11th house - If they have an elder sibling, the father can be closer to them than these natives or favor them a lot. These natives want to earn money fast and accumulate wealth through smart work. In some cases, might daydream about being a millionaire or a billionaire or watch those finance-related podcasts, online courses or documentaries to earn fast. It was fitting that Brian was the first person I spoke to for this. It was his letter, after all, and the age written on it (age 11), that touched me so deeply that it sparked this whole project. I’ll keep my methods on how I tracked him down close to the vest, so as not to illustrate how easy it is to find anyone in this digital age; needless to say– getting an email back that read “Dear Lily, Yes I did!” was thrilling. We scheduled to speak on the phone and did on July 15th, 2024.

Brian Nores was no longer 11 when we spoke on the phone. Between the passage of time and the life that fills the mind since age 11, he didn’t remember writing the letter until my email.

An email, he told me, that his partner advised him not to answer as it was “probably a scam.” Thankfully for me, Brian is “always getting himself into trouble” and answered my inquiry about a letter he may or may not have sent while living at X address in 1975. In hindsight, his partner was definitely right for being wary.

Brian credited his late father for the letter’s existence and described memories flooding back after reading the words he wrote nearly 50 years earlier. Not long before he wrote the M*A*S*H letter, Brian was a boy scout who wanted to quit. His father instructed him that he could quit, but he had to write a letter to the scout master explaining why he wanted to leave the troop. His dad ‘never let him off the hook for that,’ and it was likely this instillation of values that gave Brian the confidence to speak his mind after the fateful episode aired. [In a fascinating ending to the boy scout anecdote– Brian, who still lives in the area, was at the local frame shop years later where the owner recognized his name and produced the letter, which the scout master was having framed.]

When I asked if he remembered the episode he responded how anyone who has seen it would; he remembered it very well. He recalled being “disturbed” and “shocked” by it. In a world before spoiler alerts, he explained, “the whole world saw that episode and reacted in real time.” As an 11-year-old, but also as an American youth raised on American narratives of war, he remembered expecting Henry to “go off into the sunset” and be okay.

“For me, M*A*S*H ended after that episode.”

Brian watched occasionally after season 3 but had no idea the series continued for as long as it did (M*A*S*H aired from 1972-1983). “It was never the same, certainly.”

Brian was in 5th grade in 1975, and at his young age he had never seen something on TV that disturbing. He told me he reached out to an old friend to discuss the letter, and they reminisced about their lives at that time. “Age of innocence” was the term he used with me. At that point in his life, he had never lost any relatives or experienced any hardships. “The most shocking thing that I had experienced prior to that was a large earthquake in ’71.” For Brian, this episode marked one of the first experiences he had had with death.

It's an extraordinary level of influence to have, that the simple ‘writing off’ of a character can have such an impact on a young life. We often characterize television as a sort of hobby, one that has less of a cachet than movies; but the mechanism by which media compels our emotions is the same.

Brian reflected more on this impact when telling me that The Mary Tyler Moore Show was his favorite series, and he recalled crying at the finale in 1977. He remembered thinking “How could they end this?”

To Brian, television was “taken a little more seriously then.” With one TV, there were fights over who got to hold the clicker when you sat around the set as a family. “You got one chance to watch it.” He explained. “What a different world we live in now.”

Brian still lives in the area where he grew up and drives past his old house and “down memory lane” often. He is still close to two of his childhood best friends. He shared with me some of his thoughts on aging, a topic that still feels “surreal” to him. “Only recently have I started to experience change. Restaurants etc. going away. Everything that we grew up with has changed. TV, movies, roads, politics. I don’t like this!” He laughed. “You look in the mirror and think.”

Brian had no idea that his letter ended up in the archives of our country’s National History Museum. “Really surprised” is how he described his reaction to the news; one of the aforementioned childhood friends was “blown away.”

“What it said to me (...) was that it reaffirmed/reinforced some of the things that my dad told me. Doing the right thing and following through.” Brian shared.

“What a difference it can make. That this moment is occurring because I spent a few minutes writing.”

Other planets will influence this - for example: Sun conjunct Mercury - Spouse may be arrogant in some of their opinions. Spouse may strongly push for you to submit to their beliefs, desires and lifestyle.

D9 Sun in 1st H

This indicates gaining status after marriage. This may be a result of the spouse and/or marriage simply activates opportunities to advance in society. You may feel more confident after marriage too.

Ex: Pattie Boyd has Cancer Sun in 1st H of D9. Her first marriage was to George Harrison - one of the beatles. This was one of (if not the most) popular band at the time of her marriage. This boosted her fame and status. [celeb examples are almost always extreme examples ofc fame will not be the exact manifestation for everyone with this placement.]

I will have to be UNPRECEDENTLY brave and work VERY hard to write a book about Killie. so I said that if everyone else was very brave with me, and attacked a similarly scary creative project by the end of March, Killie could have an egg (eggs are a treat for him). The intention was to leverage each other's courage and momentum to all make progress together, with accountability and a deadline. to add urgency, Killie was trying to stay fit to (metaphorically) ride in the Grand National, a large UK steeplechase, on April 5th.

I thought we’d have 5 eggs to chase up. There were over 150 eggs for Killie by the time I had to close the inbox. It was an incredible outpouring of vitality that I’m still astonished and impressed by.

Ever since you had been born up until you were 4 years old, you felt loved by your mom because she always showed up to your games, cheering you on showing you the affection you needed and wanted. You both were seemingly happy, but when your 5th birthday came, there was no party or loved ones coming like you expected.

All you got that year was a happy birthday from Lucy and Narla cuddles but when you went to your training that day you got a small celebration and little presents this lightened your mood but you were still upset since you didn't get to see your auntie Jill or Millie this year.

You guessed that's when things got worse between you and your mom. The more you got older, the more she stopped caring and stopped showing up for the things, even going as far as to forget they were happening and whenever someone asked about you Lucy always just lied and said you were alright but truth be told she didn't know how you truly were since she never asked.

And she hadn't asked in a long time hell she barely even spoke to you unless it was necessary. When you noticed that she stopped paying attention to you, you started to act out hoping to get some form of attention from her and attention you got it may not have been the best form but at least it was attention.

You had only stopped acting out when it almost got Lucy put into a jail cell. That was the time you finally shaped up, and things went back to what they were before Lucy's neglect got worse when she moved you both to Barcelona. At first, you were happy with the move since it gave you a chance to start over fresh at a new school and place.

But the moment Lucy started getting closer with Ona, things obviously got worse which was something you thought could never happen she stopped coming home most nights too busy with Ona to actually remember about you. You had to find for yourself those nights and at first, that was fine since there was always food in the house, but eventually she stopped going shopping so often since she was living with Ona at this point.

So you started to skip meals hoping to save the food but that didn't last long, so you had to go to Alexia and Olga's a lot of the time to eat and other things. They were more than happy to help you since they knew of Lucy's neglect and careless nature when it came to you they offered you a home and more something you couldn't have been more grateful for.

Alexia had done some convincing to get you into Barcelona's academy so you joined quickly, becoming one of the best players on the team something both Alexia and Olga were proud of the two of them becoming your parents easily Olga showing up to your games when she could. And Alexia helping you practice your skills between the both of them you started to feel at home and more loved than you've ever felt.

When you were in Spain, things were great. You were having fun you had actually good friends who were there for you in more ways than one and for once you actually enjoyed life, something you hadn't felt in a long time.

When Lucy told you she was leaving for Chelsea and you were gonna have to move once again, but this time back to the UK, you were mad since you finally were starting to enjoy things again. That night was the biggest argument you had ever had with her she stormed out, leaving you alone in the apartment. You left not too long after her taking a run down to Alexia and Olga's shared place. Even if you knew Alexia wasn't there, you'd still go since when it came down to things like this, you always went to Olga.

The moment Olga led you inside and onto the couch, you broke down in her arms venting to her about everything that had just happened she whispered, reassuring things to you as she tried calming you down. Olga tried coming up with a solution but couldn't find one so instead, she just continued to comfort you until you finally fell asleep in her arms.

She called Alexia when she was sure you were asleep telling Alexia she needed to come home as soon as possible since they needed to talk about something involving you. And immediately she left the event she was at making up so bad excuse just to get home since anything involving you that had Olga calling her meant something truly bad had happened.

When Alexia showed up she took off her shoes, hanging her keys up on the hook next to the door before she walked into the living room seeing Olga laying there with you asleep on her chest. Her heart warmed up at the sight you had truly found your place in her heart she loved you as if you were her own just like Olga.

Olga suggested that Alexia should sit down for this and she did when Olga told her everything. You told her Alexia's heart broke she knew you didn't want to leave Barcelona. You had told her yourself before any of this had even happened she stayed silent as she tried thinking of something that would get you to stay here in Barcelona.

But there was nothing. You were a midfielder and Barcelona didn't need another, so that idea was gone she tried thinking of everything possible but nothing worked. Every idea that she had wouldn't work so with a sigh she wrapped her arm around Olga, kissing her forehead saying they'd come up with something.

That something came when Jenni flew out to Spain to visit some of her old friends immediately going to visit Alexia and her girlfriend. To her surprise, neither of them were there only a half asleep teenager was there she remembered Alexia telling her something about a kid that was amazing at football but didn't know who it was.

When you let her inside the house going back to lay down on the couch, things were awkward since she didn't know much about you, and you didn't know all that much about her either. She cleared her throat, sitting down a couple of feet away from you looking at whatever you had on tv taking notice of the fact you were watching an old Barcelona match while taking notes but the thing that really caught her attention was the Neymar jersey you were wearing.

"You a fan of Neymar" Jenni's broken English broke your focus on your notes. You could hear the curiosity in her tone as she asked you the question, and in response you nodded putting your pencil down "Yeah a big fan he's the reason I'm fully into football besides Lucy".

Jenni didn't question why you called Lucy by her name instead of mom or any other title that you were thankful for but from then moment on you and Jenni spent the next few hours talking about a mix of football and anything else that interested you two. You both got to know each other in those hours, learning more and more about the other.

When both Alexia and Olga finally got home, they walked into the house hearing both yours and Jenni's laughter filling the house as you two were playing fifa, trying to distract the other while playing. They smiled at the sight, seeing both of you smiling and joking with each other. It was definitely a good thing you both needed some good moments, so they were glad that you found that within each other.

You shoved Jenni playfully with your shoulder as you won the game only beating her by one goal getting up dancing a bit before you saw Alexia and Olga standing there by the door just watching you two with a soft smile you waved awkwardly. "Hey guys welcome home" You immediately started to pick up the house before either of them could say anything, making Jenni get up as well picking up your mess from earlier.

They both chuckled, seeing you and Jenni picking up the house frantically. "We see you two had fun" Alexia spoke up taking off her shoes and coat, putting them away. Olga is doing the exact same thing as Alexia moved further into the house, hugging Jenni once she was done picking up the pillows having their little moment while you turned off the game system.

Moving past the two of them while you are going to help Olga cook dinner like you always did almost every night, now laughing at Alexia's words. She wasn't wrong though you really did have fun hanging out with Jenni you started telling Olga everything you and Jenni did while they were gone making Olga laugh here and there at certain details while Jenni and Alexia catched up on life.

When food was done, everyone came into the kitchen plating up their food before making their way back into the living room. You were sitting next to Jenni while Olga was next to Alexia she turned on a random movie as everyone ate in silence, talking every now and then asking questions but for the most part it was quiet. You set your plate on the coffee table once you were done with it leaning back against the couch, getting comfortable suddenly feeling really tired everything you had done with Jenni throughout the day, finally catching up with you.

You started to doze off while the three of them fell into an easy conversation maybe it was the slightly boring movie Alexia put on or maybe it was Jenni's body heat and how comfortable the couch was you found yourself falling asleep your head ending up on Jenni's shoulder as you slept. Jenni was surprised by the sudden weight on her shoulder, so when she turned to see what was the cause of the weight, a soft smile took over her confused expression as she noticed you fell asleep.

"The niña is finally asleep" Jenni's now quiet tone broke whatever conversation that Alexia and Olga were having the both of them looking over at you and Jenni watching as she moved a bit so you were more comfortable. "Well she did wake up pretty early today just to go on a morning run with me before training" Alexia responded just as quiet as Jenni Olga nodding at her girlfriends words.

They all went back to their conversation this time much quieter since they didn't want to wake you by the time they were done it was late and with that Jenni lifted you up into her arms making sure not to wake you up as she took you up into the guest bedroom where you slept putting you in the bed tucking you in and everything before she left the room. It was arguably too late for Jenni to drive to her hotel, so she just decided to sleep out on the couch.

The next morning, you were woken up by Jenni asking you if you wanted to head to the beach with her, to which you said yeah quickly getting up to get ready not wanting to keep her waiting too long. The short drive there consisted of jamming out to whatever song either of you played finding out that you both have very similar music tastes.

By the time you got there, the sun was you both the most prettiest sight ever. You quickly took a photo, posting it to your Instagram story before you put your phone away, dropping your bags off with Jenni as you ran into the water. Jenni was quick to follow you once she was sure everything would be fine there jumping on you, dunking you under the water as you both start to mess around under the sun rise.

By the time you two were done messing around in the water, you walked back onto the sand sitting down on your towels as you dug into the food you brought with you two, spending the rest of your time eating at the beach. When you suggested going to the arcade, Jenni immediately agreed more than happy to try and beat you at whatever games they had there.

You two spent at least 2 hours at the massive arcade she ended up beating you at half of the games while you beat her at the other half this day was already one of the best days of your life. You guys ended up doing a lot in that one day, the day ending with you in Jenni's arms as you snored the fun of the day, finally hitting the both of you Alexia made sure to take a picture of the two of you together posting it on her story with a simple heart along with it.

She was happy to see that Jenni was helping you feel better, making you forget the fact you still had to possibly move since her and Olga still hadn't figured out how to get you to stay here in Barcelona.

First Crystal, who has no reason to believe the boys will turn down Monty's case due to Edwin's assumed crush and Charles' people-pleasing nature. She agrees to the case quickly because it's the perfect distraction for the boys and will buy her time to get her powers back... but then, to her shock, Charles turns down the case!! Charles who is all about gentleness and "Bedside manner," who cares deeply about being a "Good guy" and about being liked, the guy plagued with worry about how he is perceived by others and who never wants to disappoint anyone, the guy who is suuuuuper sentimental, protective, has a strong sense of justice, and is notably dedicated to protecting his friends and helping the people he cares about at quite literally any cost.

Even Monty is surprised, too!! It's clear that Monty anticipates Edwin's lingering guilt and old-fashioned sensibilities regarding decorum and conflict avoidance to be enough motivation for him to take on the case, that Edwin would agree just to avoid adding any more animosity or awkward tension to an already delicate situation. Monty had to know, going in, that he really only had to get through to Charles (who he admittedly had neglected in the past and been cold to in previous interactions due to his crush on Edwin). Considering Charles' easy-going nature, this should have been quite easy as Edwin is a much harder person to win over, whereas Charles is quick to see the good in others!! That's why he compliments Charles (despite the sentiment being disingenuous) and contrives a story that, knowing what we all know about the boys by this point, should have struck an emotional chord for Charles especially... BUT IT DOESN'T which is like... very weird!!! It's normal for Edwin to act logically, to put facts over feelings, to "play hardball" as Charles puts it in episode 1. But Charles is emotional, he's compassionate, he's impulsive more times than not, so this is notably weird behavior for Charles!!

BUT THEN it gets even better because Charles is immediately like, "Edwin, you know what I'm saying, right?" He throws the ball to Edwin, expecting Edwin to agree with him - a reasonable expectation as, again, Edwin is the logical one - but then Edwin doesn't agree, he sides with the girls instead and takes on the case for, what we can only assume is an unknown/indiscernible reason to Charles. (Remember, Charles has no clue that Edwin already turned Monty down, and we know he thinks that Edwin has a little crush on Monty at this point as well!!) Charles doesn't push the issue, but it's clear he's not particularly happy... it's hard to nail down what exactly he's feeling (we can't read his mind) but he's clearly feeling some type of way. You can tell by his silence, by the tense, tight-jaw frown and his eyes wandering to the floor that he must have been expecting a different outcome. It felt like he asked Edwin in a way that felt more like he was testing something, like he was hoping for a certain outcome...but WHY???

Well, let's acknowledge the context in which this strange interaction happens. In the same episode we see Charles:

Note how weird/off everyone is behaving specifically after Edwin is awkward with Monty on the roof.

Checking Edwin out, up and down, after Niko tells him he looks good (This is an irrefutable conclusion as he openly comments on Edwin's change of clothes later, so like... he noticed lmao)

Acting colder than he previously has to Monty by the time they get to the tall forest, despite the possibility that Monty may have lost his friend who comforted him after his own near-death experience. (This happens after Edwin agrees to take on the case, btw. Even when Crystal points out that there's an issue between Monty and Edwin, Charles makes no move to inquire, to "fix" it, or to be especially gentle as he normally might.)

Boldly and instinctively reach for Edwin's hand while making pointed, emotional eye contact as a "last act" during their near "death" experience.

And that's not even everything!!! So like... yeah, sure, it could be nothing. It could mean nothing. Allll of this could just be coincidental. Maybe Charles was being logical and responsible for once, maybe he really did just feel like they were already too busy to take on an extra case.

OR, more likely in my personal opinion, HE WAS JEALOUS AS FUCK!!! We know, based on their interaction at the end of the episode, that Charles has always had at least some idea that Edwin is not straight. We know that everyone is convinced Edwin has a crush on Monty. We know that Charles, after meeting Monty for the first time, has an expression of disdain on his face while watching Monty and Edwin interact (when Monty is showing Edwin his astrology chart). We even know that, following this interaction, Charles is frazzled/irritated when he fails to get Edwin's attention away from Monty's astrology book (clearly upset that Edwin's attention is occupied elsewhere and suddenly eager to remind Edwin that the goal is to leave Port Townsend with haste). Monty aside, we're not even getting into the protective and emotional response Charles has at the mere mention of the damn Cat King...

SOOOO TLDR; I've watched this show every day, and the more I watch it the less I can be convinced that Charles is not jealous AF and stupidly, deeply in love with Edwin...even if he isn't aware of it yet. I have no idea why so many people think Charles has 0 romantic interest in Edwin and that he "turned Edwin down completely" on the stairs to hell... because that's simply just not what happened lmao. Seeing the word "queerbait" being attached to these two is giving me whiplash... like that's just not what's happening here. That's not the proper interpretation of the nature of their relationship. I don't think there is any possibility, not a chance in hell, that Charles will not reciprocate Edwin's romantic feelings because he quite literally already does and just doesn't know it yet. There's no other way to interpret the acting choices made (which are brilliant) and the writing choices (which are also brilliant).

Anyway, hopefully that made sense. I just needed to share because I am gnawing at the bars of my enclosure going absolutely batshit over this show! 😇
